> The Moon's Star > by Moon Star > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Intro > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The morning sun shone through the window. A yawn escaped my mouth as I trotted towards the door. Opening the door, screams echoed off the walls and ringed in my ears. I immediately slammed the door, shivering from what I heard. The screams lingered in my mind. "Get out of here, you good for nothing waste!" "Stay out of my life. STAY OUT OF IT FOREVER!!!" The screeches grew louder and louder in my head. It rewinded like a broken record non-stop. " Make it stop!" I silently shrieked under my breath, holding the sides of my head with my hooves. Cold, salty tears rolled down my cheeks, as I silently listened in pain and agony to the screeches that surrounded me with darkness. I shot my head into the air as soon as I heard hoof-steps near my bedroom door. I scrambled to my bed as fast I could and flung the silk, velevet bed-cover over my head, and dried away my tears. "Pack your bags, Moon. Me and your father are getting divorced." said my mother. She growled in a harsh tone as she stomped towards my bed. "But why, mother?" I asked, popping my head out from underneath the covers. "Aren't you and father happy?" I inquired. "We're not, Moon. Just pack your bags!" she growled again but turning towards me with fierce, eyes clouded with grief. "I-I'm sorry I asked, mother." I stammered, slowly climbing out of bed. She turned away and let out a heavy sigh, heading for the door until she murmered something too low for me to hear. "Just shut up, Moon." she mumbled low enough so only she could hear. She walked out and closed my door, leaving only the window light shine my room. I dragged myself towards my closet, where only a few clothes and a suitcase lay. I took my suitcase and opened it. "What's this?" I murmered softly as I slowly reached for a note inside my suitcase. I drew the note closer to me, to identify the note closely. They shown my two parents, happily standing side by side smiling. I looked at the top right corner. 'Welcome to Paradise!' was printed in pink ink in cursive. An unexpected tear dropped on the portrait. "N-no, I mustn't cry. I must be strong!" I whispered to myself. I tossed the snapshot into the trash bin and finish packing my clothes. As soon as I finish, I zip up the zipper and grasp the suitcase's handle with my jaws. I slowly roll it out of my room, passing the empty trash bin which only contained the picture of my two parents. I make my way tpwards the stairs. Each step clicks against my hoof lightly. Creeeeaaaaaaccccccccck, Crrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaccccccck goes the old wooden panels. "I'm ready... " I say faintly. "Good. Let's go. I'm already tired of looking at these pictures. It makes me sick." grouched mother as she walked towards the door. "Alright, mother..." I replied, walking with my head hung low to the ground. After I take one step outside. I stop and turn to take a look at the majestic house we own which will be taken by my mother. > A New Beggining > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- *One year later* I trotted towards my bed, Luna's moon shone through my crystal clear window. I stepped into the light of the moon, my hair glistened in the moonlight as I passed by. I threw myself onto my bed, soon crawling into the covers wearily. My eyes shut closed as I drifted off to sleep. "Moon Star..." longed a familiar voice in my sleep. "Who's there?!" Show yourself!" I growled back to the voice. A figure appeared before my eyes. My mother stood before me. "M-m-mother...?" I asked weakly. "Why did you leave me, Moon? Why?" she asked me with grief in her eyes. She stared at me for a long moment in silence until I finally spoke and broke the silence. "I-I-I didn't leave you..." I spoke silently. She slowly trotted towards me but I turned my back on her. Tears formed in my eyes. I turned back and screeched at her. "I MADE A DESICION!!!" I screeched and a tear flung off my cheek and landed on her in an instant. As soon as it landed on her shoulder she turned to mist and disappeared in an instant. "What the...?" I said under my breath as I tilted my head to the side. "You will pay...!!!" my mother whispered in my ear with her eyes glowing red, popping out of nowhere. "GAH!!!! " I screamed as I fell out of my bed. "Oh it was just a dream..." I assurred myself. I turned to search for the window. " Day already. " I murmered as I saw the sun shine through my window. I slowly trotted towards the door. Opening the door, I scented the smell of blueberry pancakes. My nose led me to the source of the delicous, mouth-watering smell. "Mornin', kiddo." I heard a hoarse voice greet me. "Oh, hi, dad." I answered to his greeting. "Want some blueberry pancakes?" he asked me. "Sure!" I excitidly replied. He handed me a stack of pancakes glossed in glittering, syrup. I stared with eyes as wide as dinner plates. My mouth stood, dangling and dripping with drool. I licked my chaps excitedly. I drew my fork closer and closer to the waffles to scoop some. I chewed a spoon-full slowly, savouring the scrumptious flavors I consumed. I soon furiously started to eat, not paying attention to the outside world around me. I soon brought my head up to face my father. He, too, was eating away at the pancakes. "Uh, dad?" I began. "Yea, Moon?" "I was wondering if I could get away from Canterlot, since you know. Where most of my problems are at, like how this was the place my two parents split up." "Well, where do you want to go then?" "I don't know... Maybe I could ask the princess for a good place to stay? " "Good idea." "Uh... Can I leave to go to her castle then?" "Alright. Just be careful." "I will." I said as I ran off towards the door. I inhaled the scent of freshly cut, damp green grass. I ran in the grass and took the path to Celestia's castle. As soon as I reached the castle, I walked through the entrance until I was stopped by one of the guards, "HALT! State your buissness here immeadiately!" screeched the guard in his buff voice. "Uh... I would like to see the princess because I was hoping to get out of town but my dad said to see if it was alright with the princess. " I replied firmly, not trying to show any fear from the guard's toughness. "Hmm... I suppose you're not gonna do any harm," he murmered. "Come with me." he finished. Me and the guard trotted to a humongous room. "This is where the princess is." the guard started. I reached out a hoof to open the door. But before I could even touch it the guard stopped me. "She's with her royal student, Twilight Sparkle." he finished. "When will she be out?" I asked eagerly. "She will be out in a few minutes or so." he answered. *5 minutes later...* The doors opened and I saw a lavender-coat mare standing next to Princess Celestia. Me and the guard bowed to her as she trotted towards us. "Hello there, my little pony." she greeted clamly as she looked towards me. "Hello, your highness." I replied. "What's your name?" "I'm Moon Star " "What brings you here, Moon Star?" "Well..." that's when I began to tell me story. "Hmm... I see. Maybe Ponyville will ease your worries for a while." she suggested. "That'd be awesome!!! Where is it? When will I go?" I squealed with excitement. "Twilight," Celestia called the lavender mare. "Yes, princess?" answered Twilight. "This young filly would like to go to Ponyville, would you do me a favor and bring her to Ponyville with you and live with her. She might be able to learn from you, abd Spike will have a little playmate." Celestia asked though she chuckled a bit at the end. "Certainly, princess." confirmed Twilight as she trotted over towards me. "Hi, I'm Twilight Sparkle. What's your name?" she introduced. "Nice to meet you, Twilight. I'm Moon Star." I answered. "Shall we get going?" I asked her, trying to stay clam as I was so excited to go to a new place and meet new people. "Alright, Moon." she confirmed. "Great! But... I came here without my bags..." I started talking with excitement but my ears flattened as I mumbled the last six words. "That's alright. Would you like to go get them?" Twilight said trying to cheer me up. My ears soon perked up. "OK!" I smiled with glee. We walked to my home and Twilight met dad as I got my suitcase ready. After that, we walked to the train station and purchased tickets to the next stop to Ponyville. We soon took our seats in the train car and the train soon started moving. Twilight allowed me to have the window seat, so I looked out the window the whole time until we arrived to Ponyville.
