"RUN! TAKE THE CHILDREN!!!" an Alicorn shouted to his wife. "o..o..oh.. ok.", she gulped.

Tears were streaming down Solaria's face as she grabbed the two fillies with her amber magic. As she looked down at the burning city she collapsed into a heap. "Solaria?" turned and saw his wife on the ground.

"SOLARIA!!!" He flew over to her and knelt down. The two fillies, the eldest named Celestia and the younger Luna. Celestia was tugging on her mother's hoof, saying, "Mommy? Mommy? Are you asleep? Wake up, Mommy!" Luna, instead, was more interested in the vast night sky that loomed overhead. She cocked her head sideways and stared up at the heavenly bodies. Nightshade looked down at his dead wife. Tears were running down his face and he shouted in his Royal Alicornia Voice, "WHYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!".

Luna turned around and wobbled towards her father. Celestia buried her face in Solaria's starry mane. She began to weep, and as her tears fell on Solaria's coat, golden light appeared where they fell. Luna looked up from her father's arms and saw the light. Her face immediately turned into a frown. That light was... too bright, and Luna knew that something was up. She was also the tiniest bit jealous, too. Nightshade looked up to see what Luna was looking at. He ignored the magic bombs flying around them in all directions. What he saw shocked and amazed him.

Tia was standing above her dead mother, eyes glowing pure white and pink mane seeming to flow with a supernatural wind. She looked at the pitch black sky with no trace of sun or moon and suddenly a golden crown encrusted with a jewel appeared on her head. She looked at her father, and he nodded, gulping. She grabbed the little light-blue maned filly with her light green magic. "Dada!" Luna screamed, but Celestia flew up in the sky as fast as her young wings could take her. Luna watched, horrified, as alicorns below them started to fall over, dead. Celestia climbed into the atmosphere faster and faster and when she broke through it with a spectacular rainbow of colours her mane seemed to grab a few, turning her pink mane into a rainbow of green, pink, blue and blue-green. *

Luna stared at her sister. A twinge of jealousy pierced her heart. Why does Tia get all the good stuff? She isn't even the... nicest filly...

Celestia continued to fly through space. For ten years they journeyed. Luna managed to fly on her own and Celestia used her magic to conjure up food and water in magical airtight packages. "COME ON!" She shouted at her younger sis. "Okay, Tia. You dont have to yell like that -"I YES I DO!!!" Celestia stopped, and looked at her sister, who had tears in her eyes. "Aww... what have I done... you know I didn't mean that..." Luna turned around and looked out in the distance. "Hay, Tia?" "Yes?" "What is... that?" Luna pointed her hoof to a planet about 2 light years away. "What's that thing?" Celestia looked at it. "I don't know, but were going to find out."

To be CONTINUED!!!!!! (dun dun DUUUNNN)

Of Moon Cakes and Vocal Chords

It was the day after Nightmare Night. Luna stared out her bedroom window, sighing. Tia seemed pleased with last night's "events", though. "Oh, Luna. Won't you take a joke?" Celestia chided with a smile on her face.

Right, because I can't take a joke!, The Princess of the Night thought to herself. I'm just an extremely old pony with absolutely no sense of humor

Luna went over to her bed and immediately collapsed on top of it. Her starry mane flowed with a supernatural wind as she tried to remember what happened yesterday morning...

Celestia was talking to some buisnessponies from... where was it? Oh yeah, Manehattan. I didn't want to interrupt her, but she looked oh so bored... Tia saw me and dismissed the buisnessponies. "Luna!" she said. "I have a surprise for you!"

Surprises, huh? I was never that enthusiastic about surprises... unless they involved moon cakes.
"All right, what is it?" I asked, pushing my magical mane from my eyes.

"Well... maybe, just maybe, some ponies from the town of Ponyville wish to honour you this Nightmare Night..."

I looked at her, unimpressed.

"Oh yes, and they have moon cak-"IM GOING!!!!" I interrupted. Suddenly I was grinning like a maniac.

Tease me all you want, moon cakes are my weakness. Ponyville's moon cakes were delicious, especially when that pink pony made them.

"I also heard," continued Celestia, "that the Royal Canterlot Voice...trend.... is coming back, being very popular to royalty." Celestia grinned. "This could be the perfect chance to test those royal vocal chords!"

I gave Tia a big, ursa major hug. "WE ROYALLY THANK THOU FOR THY USEFUL INFORMATION!", I shouted.

Tia laughed, then said to me, "Run along little filly, you have to prepare for tonight's BIG event!"

I bounded out of the Hall of the Sun, and turned around at the last second. Celestia was looking out of the window, still grinning. A small twitching was to be seen under her eye. I regarded it as nothing, and flew out to prepare.

Luna got up from her bed and took a deep breath.

I need to talk to that... that... Trollestia! She thought angrily.

She was about to storm through the door (quite literally; like an angry raincloud, small sparks of lightning were shooting from her) when an object caught her eye. It wasn't very out of the ordinary here at Canterlot Castle, but Luna couldn't stop and stare at it. The object, a glittering solid-gold plate with some moon cake crumbs on it was balanced on top of Luna's bedside table. Woah, She thought, Who knows how much this plate could be worth? Luna flew up and properly looked around her "room". More like a museum, The princess of the Night thought to herself. There were riches everywhere, from her chandelier to her private bathroom.

"I have all these... luxuries... and all I do is sport a horn and wings? Not to mention I raise and lower the moon... but still. Poor unicorns back before Equestria was founded could raise the sun AND moon in their sleep!" She sighed. "It's not like i'm any different then 'normal' ponies."

After a few moments she suddenly shot up from the ground, exclaiming, "I'm right! I'm no different than other ponies, so why shouldn't they get some decencies?"

Luna once heard Tia say that a settlement of homeless ponies was forming in the Everfree forest. Celestia was about to kick them out but Luna pleaded so hard that the Sun Goddess had no choice but to let them be.

That's a great idea!Luna thought, I'll give some of my riches to ponies who REALLY need them!

Luna levitated some jewel - encrusted objects with a light blue aura. She found a large velvet bag in her closet and began putting some of her loot in there, when -

"Oh, not at all, Fleur. I was just going to - Luna! What are you doing! We have guests!"

Luna turned around, meeting Celestia's cold gaze. What are you doing? She mouthed.

"I was just... just.." Luna looked up at her sister's "guests". There was a tall, slender unicorn with pink hair, holding on to the other unicorn's, this one with a well - groomed blue mane, hoof. "Dreadfully sorry about that," Celestia tried to explain, but Fancy Pants cut her short. "Not at all, m'lady! Hello, I'm Fancy Pants." The stallion reached out a hoof to Luna, and she shook it.

"I'm Princess Luna," She said akwardly.

A few uncomfortable moments passed, and Luna felt like she was slowly turning into a beet.

"Well then," It was Tia who broke the silence.

"Run along, little brat." Celestia chuckled. "Go have fun doing... whatever you do these days."

Luna ran out her bedroom, and Celestia proceeded with the tour. "Now," she smiled nervously. "Where were we?"

***********************************

Luna hurried through the castle, occasionally bumping into a Royal Guard or two. She turned left and right around corners, until she appeared to be in a Castle wing she had never explored before.

As she glided down a hallway she noticed one of the doors was open just a tiny crack.

Luna peeked inside, and what she saw shocked her.

From floor to ceiling, the room was full of gold. Not only a mountain of it, but also golden artifacts, fountains, thrones, you name it. Luna frowned as she stepped inside the great hall. It was shining so bright it almost had a radiant glow to it, but Luna was not interested. Was this her sister's work? Is this where all the tax money goes? Questions were flooding her mind as she racked her mind for answers.

Suddenly and swiftly, a black, velvety bag came across Luna's head.

"AAAAAKKKK!" She screamed, but it seemed like the bag was enchanted, preventing her to make any noise. She did, however, hear her captor's voice. And it only said one word.

"Gotcha."
