> Twilo-Pinkie > by ChickenHooves > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Revival Of NightMare Moon > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A certain blue dragon was sitting in the Everfree Forest. He was very annoyed that NightMare Moon was destroyed by the Elements Of Harmony two years ago. He saw the menacing mare as his 'idol', so to speak. He liked the night almost as much as NightMare Moon did, and he seemed to be the only person to enjoy it. He just didn't understand why all the ponies grieved over it. "I'll get you back, NightMare Moon," he whispered to the moon, which was gleaming through the canopy of trees, his plum coloured eyes glistening in the moonlight. Suddenly he came up with an idea. If I could just find a Harmony Stone, he thought, I could bring her back! The clock in Twilight's tree house called out a 'cuckoo', signalling it to be the next hour. Twilight Sparkle, a young unicorn mare who was sent to Ponyville to learn the magic of friendship, was playing a game of 'Gem Hunter' with her friends Rainbow Dash, one of the fastest flyers in Equestria, Pinkie Pie, a pink earth pony with a love for partying, and Rarity, a fashion diva. "I'm playing extremely well," Rarity exclaimed. "I've got a lot of your gems, Twilight!" "She's right, Pinkie," Twilight said to the cupcake maned pony. "There goes your gems for getting Celestia to live here in Ponyville." "Don't be so sure, Twilight..." Pinkie said with a tone of excitement in her voice. "Hey, look outside, everypony!" she said as she pointed her hoof outside. "NightMare Moon is coming!" All the ponies except Pinkie looked outside in shock and horror. Pinkie gave a quiet snicker and grabbed Rarity's stack of sixty gems. The ponies turned around, Rainbow was one of the ones confused. "W-Where, Pinkie?" she asked. "I don't see her!" "Oh, err... False alarm, Rainbow," Pinkie said, holding her laughs back as much as she could. "Must have been some shadows." by now, Pinkie couldn't hold it any longer, and she fell on the floor in a burst of laughter. Twilight, Rainbow and Rarity stared at the party pony in bewilderment. "Are you okay, darling?" Rarity asked. A burst of blue and green flames came out of the forest, followed by the dragon from before. His eyes were no longer purple, but were a moderate Azure colour. His previously marine-coloured scales were now a navy blue, similar to his idol. The flames seemed to never disintegrate, and he was breathing it onto every living thing he could see, including the grass, plants and trees. The ground was shaking like a magnitude four earthquake. Meanwhile, the residents of Ponyville were able to feel this too. "S-s-stop rocking the table!" Rainbow Dash shouted as the four ponies were bouncing up and down due to the earthquake. "Y-you're m-making me s-s-sick!" "I'm n-not r-rocking the t-t-table!" Rarity replied. "The whole house is s-s-shaking!!" she exclaimed as she fell off her wooden chair. "P-p-perhaps o-o-one of us should have a l-l-l-ook ou-o-out-s-s-side!" Twilight asked. Rarity stood up, and replied: "I'll go, because all of you are being huge cowards!" She trotted out the door, umbrella-saddle on her back to protect her from the rain. It didn't help that there was an extremely stong gale, and so her umbrella continuously flipped upside down, collecting rainwater in it. Rarity quickly ducked behind a large rock as a large stream of flames passed above her. When it was gone, she peered above the rock. She gasped as a navy blue dragon was breathing blue and green fire every chance it got. Suddenly it started glowing, then with a flash, a tall, black-and-blue mare was standing there. Her mane was flowing on an invisible current, and was as dark as the night sky. Her mane and tail seemed to be coming out of the dragon's body, and the dragon smiled at the mare. The mare's wings flapped, blocking as much of the moon's light as they could. "Oh no!" the dragon screamed. "Somepony's seen us!!" the mare's mane and tail snapped off, but the dragon was glowing a with a purple aura. One of his eyes were still an azure colour. He ran off after Rarity extremely fast, but could still not catch up with the white unicorn. He started to breath out small columns of the blue and green fire, each shot missing every time, making Rarity sigh in relief. "I guess Princess Celestia will be visiting after all, huh Twilight?" Pinkie laughed. "But Pinkie, you cheated!!" Rainbow screamed. "That's not--" she was interrrupted by the loud slamming noise of the door, followed by a panting white unicorn. "Everypony..." Rarity panted. "You've got to run! Quick, NightMare Moon's coming!!" The blue dragon came upon the tree house. He laughed as he filled his mouth with the strongest flames he could bring up. He opened his mouth and blowed it as hard as he could into the library. "Yeah, yeah, Rarity," Rainbow said. "I'm not going to fall for that again!" Twilight looked out the window and gasped. "She's right! Everypony run!" Twilight, Pinkie and Rarity ran out, but Rainbow kept her post. Spike ran after his friend, and roomie, and out the door. The room in which the ponies were playing in began to glow with a white colour. "Why are you even paying any attention to--" Rainbow asked as she was interrupted by a crash of wood. A few screams came from the tree house as the entire house collapsed on top of her, also on fire. To be continued... > Twilight's Revenge > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- NightMare Moon's mane and tail started to split again to reveal creatures made entirely from the darkness of her mane (and no, they're not heartless from Kingdom Hearts.), that then spread even more darkness upon the town of Ponyville. The dragon leapt onto the mare's back as she flew away, leaving Twilight's house in ruins. Speaking of which, let's get back to the four friends, shall we? Twilight stared at her burnt down tree house. All her books were in there, making her life feel pointless. Twilight's face dropped as she tilted her head to count who was outside with her. Rarity stood up, a few scratches here and there, but nothing tragic. She was scratching her head, and screamed as she saw how scruffy she was; her mane and tail were stained brown and green from the leaves and the tree sap. She almost fainted to this, but managed to stay to. "Look at my house!" Twilight said glumly. "All my books, all my furniture..." "No Dashie..." Pinkie added. "Wait, no Dashie?!" The cyan pegasus, now stained black, trotted out slowly, then collapsed to the ground. Rarity felt like fainting the second time. This time she actually did. "...NightMare Moon's killed poor Rainbow!" Twilight screamed, tears flowing, but not more than Pinkie. Rarity suddenly leapt up, as she came to. "NightMare Moon's wrecked Twilight's house and killed Rainbow..." Rarity said. "SHE'S GOING TO PAY!!" Twilight and Pinkie grasped the unicorn as she started cursing to the moon, which still lay in the sky. "Rarity, calm down," Twilight said, still wiping a few tears off her cheeks. "We'll all go and get our revenge on her; you'll never walk alone... And I have a feeling it's not going to be easy this time, either." A white shape that appeared to look like Rainbow Dash came out of the scorched body. "Twilight..." she whispered. "I can't move from this spot!! Who's gonna help you now I'm dead?!" The lavender unicorn turned around to see the spirit with a sad expression upon her face. She couldn't help but give a small tear. "I..." she began. "I... don't know..." she faced the direction of the forest and noticed a hole under the trees. She grabbed Pinkie with her magic and ran over. Rarity went through too, although she was scared of the muddiness. The ground was shaking beneath Twilight and Pinkie. Except Pinkie didn't feel it because she was still floating because of the magic, but she could hear it alright. Twilight trotted down the slope and saw the dragon from before. "Well, if it isn't the two puny ponies that made up my old friend Crackle!" he lisped. Twilight flinched a bit at the dragon's metallic-like texture to his voice. "Huh, I don't remember anything like that happening..." Twilight lied, putting on a smug grin. "I hate you two because you cast away my idol, NightMare Moon!" the dragon lisped again. Twilight dropped Pinkie, and the cupcake maned pony leapt over to the dragon, whilst putting on her angry face. "Well, at least we can speak properly!!" she screamed. "Oh no, I'm sooooo scared!" the dragon said sarcastically. "Whatever, you'll pay for what you did to the most amazing mare in the world!" he belched out a pillar of fire at the two. Twilight teleported her and Pinkie with her magic, then shot a beam of magic herself at the dragon. He yelped as it burnt a few scales, making some scales flitter onto the ground, burnt to a crisp. He then spun around as he belched more fire pillars all around. Twilight teleported midair, then stomped on the dragon. He pushed the unicorn off, causing her to crash into stones at the back of the tunnel. The rock wall collapsed on top of Twilight, causing the tunnel to shake. Now all that was left were Pinkie and the dragon. Suddenly the dragon stopped as a red word appeared, completely stationary from all directions, said 'PAUSED'. The party pony ran up to the dragon and blew up the biggest balloon she had ever blown; a glittery, cream-coloured balloon. She did this to another cream balloon and an azure balloon, then arranged them to look like her cutie mark. Finally, she took a scale from the ground and popped each balloon. Then the word disappeared and the three balloons popped in the dragon's face. It was he that got pushed back into the wall. The stones collapsed on top of the dragon too. Pinkie ran over to where Twilight was buried and kicked every large stone off the unicorn. She was covered in scars, but still, nothing magic couldn't fix. Twilight's horn glowed a mageta colour as the scars disappeared into thin air, her body now the usual lavender, not the mix of purple and maroon like when she had the scars over her. Pinkie was being levitated in the air by magic, and Twilight ran out the tunnel. "I really like pausing the story!" Pinkie said. "It's great, because I looked in the author's notes section, and it said that the dragon's name is Scale Dust! How scratchy does THAT sound?!" Twilight rolled her eyes at this, because she knew that it was just Pinkie Pie being... well, Pinkie Pie. > Sad Sweetie > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The purple unicorn cantered out of the tunnel with her friend floating beside her. Twilight let the pink pony go once more. There was a small wooden sign that had the word 'Fillydelphia' crudely splattered on with blue paint next to her. She then realised that this was Sweetie Belle's hown town, and under the town's name it said: 'Home To The Princess Of Belle Air', given that Sweetie came from Fillydelphia. She trotted over to a small, white and purple house, and she assumed that this was Sweetie and her father, Magnum's, home. She noticed there was no door, just a piece of pink and green fabric. She cast it to the side and then noticed it was extremely dark. She lit up her horn, just to see a round, empty room with only Sweetie sitting down on the floor. "Sweetie Belle?" Twilight asked. "Why are you here alone? And why is there nothing here?" the filly turned around and stared at Twilight, with tears coming from her eyes, which were devoid of emotion. "They took my dad away..." she whispered. "They?" Twilight asked. "Who are they? I don't follow." "The scary pony, and the dragon!" "Wait," Twilight said. "They came here too?" the filly nodded. "If you want, you can go see Princess Cadance in the middle of the village," Sweetie said. "Thank you Sweetie," Twilight said. "I'll go see my sister." "Twilight!" the pink alicorn said. "It's nice to see you here! Sunshine, sun--" "Cadance, we don't have time for that!" Twilight interrupted. "NightMare Moon's gone and killed Rainbow, and she burnt down my home!" Cadance started crying as she hugged her sister-in-law. "I'm sorry..." she cried. "I suggest you go see Tornado Wing in her home. She's the only person who can activate the crystal element shard!" "But aren't you the crystal princess?" Twilight asked. "Never mind that," Cadance replied, attempting to avoid the question. "Here, take this Element Shard with you." A purple, six-pronged star-shaped stone appeared in front of Twilight. She picked it up with her magic, and it disappeared in a few pink sparkles. Before she left, she gave a "Thank you" to the princess. She ran out. "So, Twilight, what went on?" Pinkie asked, who had stayed outside. "Cadance gave me an Element Shard," Twilight replied, as the star-shaped stone appeared in a flash of sparkles in front of her. "She was avoiding my question, but it was great seeing her again." Meanwhile, in the Equestrian Mountains… "This is my newest machine," Scale Dust exclaimed to NightMare Moon. "It removes life from anything it touches, making it available for external use. Just pick a target, and--BOOM! Lifeless." "That idiotic crystal princess has just gave the fools an Element Shard," NightMare Moon said. "Let's blast her away!" "The Life Taker has auto lock on. You just have to press the button now." Scale Dust explained. The blue-topped hoof of the night mare pressed down on the Blue button, which read 'absorb'. The button next to it read 'give', and was red. The machine charged up, then fired at the crystal palace the princess was in. All the colour was being drained from it, along with the life of the Princess inside it.
