> The Introduction of Steam Punk > by firemaster24 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue/ Journey to Equestria > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you read you may like to know this may or may not be funny to some people, and i may or may not start unintentionally rushing things. Now onto the story.... *ripple effect*..... There was a little philly walking through a village in the old country of New Equineshire. She has a shaggy black mane with a copper colored coat and gray irises. Her face was smeared with dirt and grime. She was adopted when she was little, and soon her family went bankrupt. This little pony got thrown out onto the street only three days before, and she still cried herself to sleep at night about it. But uh... cheer up about it and listen to this song. :P Anyways this pony's name was Steam Punk. She had resorted to stealing in order to get food, and she lived in a little box right outside her town. One day, she was out and about and she found 20 bits lying on the ground, and a few feet away was another 20 bits! Somepony's wallet must've been cut..., she thought. Steam Punk decided to pick up all the money she saw, and save it up so that one day she might be able to get out of the streets. In fact, this just happened to be today because she found so much money within five minutes that she could buy all the food and supplies she needed to leave town and then some! First, she bought a saddlebag to hold everything in. Next, the little unicorn bought enough bread and cheese to last five days. Last she bought some tools, sheet metal, iron and copper pipes, a crate, and some wheels simply because she felt she needed these items. With that she also bought some books and coal just in case. So Steam walked back to her little box outside of town, ignoring all the weird looks she got from all the passersby, and decided to bend the sheet metal into a tank and some pistons after reading her book that she got about steam power. She then took the pipes and fit the pistons into them and welded them to the tank while getting burned since she had never used a blow-torch before. Next she took half of the remaining sheet metal and made a compartment to go underneath the tank to heat the water inside. Steam then took the rest of the sheet metal to make nuts, bolts, and nails. She made a drive shaft and a few other components that I don't really want to list because i think this particular part of the story has gone on long enough. Therefore to make a long story short she made a steam engine and mounted it in a crate to make a steam carraige, and with handlebars for steering no less. Steam lights the coal in the engine and lets the water in the tank heat up and hops into the huge crate with her remaining supplies. The crude steam engine goes a little slow at first but it picks up speed eventually and starts to speed down the roads faster than anypony has ever been able to run before. and because of its light weight it even goes faster than a train! (she has never seen a train before since they were most recently built in Equestria and this country is a little behind in technology and mechanics) Unfortunately the sun was setting so she had to stop for the night and use her crate/ carriage for shelter, because she left her box behind since it wouldn't fit. Luckily the engine was still hot so Steam wouldn't freeze that night. It got especially cold since winter was coming. The next morning was incredible since Steam had awoken to watch the sunrise. So she ate some bread and cheese and started the engine up again right away. Thus, she was off to see new lands! Steam yells in her meager voice," I feel so alive!" Routine went on like this uninterrupted for three days before she came across some strange masked ponies, who were hauling a gigantic cart full of jewels. Hmmm, Steam thought to herself, These people seem like they're up to something... Nah, couldn't be. I think I'll go say hi. So she did. The first Masked Pony says in a loud gravelly voice," Aren't you a little young to be out here all alone, little philly?" "No, i don't think so." "I dunno i think you should go before you get caught up in our little game of Cat and Mouse..." "Why?" "Because it's dangerous out here. Now run along before we MAKE you run." Steam says in a highly disappointed tone," All right. I suppose. You take care of yourselves now, masked ponies." "We hope so" And with that steam goes along on her merry way again and not running into any trouble again for the last two days except for water... she had none for herself left. Little did she know she was already in Equestria headed straight for Ponyville. She decided to ride throughout the night so that the engine would stay hot and keep her warm. She saw a town on the horizon by sunrise on the sixth day. She was so happy to see she finally made it to another place she almost accidentally steered straight into the trees lining the side of the road! Little did Steam know... the engine was overheating and was about to set the crate on fire if she didn't put out the fire in the coal compartment... She smelled burning wood and turned around to see that the crate was turning black around the red-hot engine. She took about half of the remaining water in the tank and poured it on the coal. The engine was still hot enough that it could run for another 20 minutes without slowing down, so she didn't have to stop at all. She got to the strange, bright, clean village called Ponyville by noon, and was famished... Then she met this gray pegasus with a blonde mane, and big yellow derped eyes, carrying muffins....
