Spike held the scroll at arms length and blew. Red and Orange flames burst out. There was a sudden blow of wind from the side knocking the fire off course. Fluttershy just happened to be standing there at the time. The flames engulfed the terrified pegasus. Panicking Spike attempted to stop it but it was too late. Fluttershy had gone and nopony knew where.

Fluttershy opened her eyes and shrieked. She was surrounded by strange creatures. They could stand up on two... hooves? They had claws and there was alot of them. They all had a pair of them. Fluttershy shot upwards in terror landing on the nearest roof. She was scared. Scared and alone. Surrounded by these terrifying creatures. Where were her friends? More importantly... where was she?

The man slowly walked through the streets looking around slowly. He swore he had seen a yellow blur shoot upwards. But he couldn't see anything anywhere. It was a busy day for the town of Aylesbury. People were rushing about trying to get their shopping done. It was just after New Years so Jake didn't have much money left after all of the Christmas shopping he had done. Jake is the man that was mentioned. He didn't have a job so he couldn't make any money. He'd be living on the streets if it wasn't for his family giving him money. The only thing he really did all day was sit on the computer watching pony videos. Or he'd be out walking. He scanned the skies for any sign of the yellow blur. That was when he spotted it. Cowering behind the chimney of a house was a small yellow pegasus.

Fluttershy cowered behind the brown brick chimney. She didn't know what to do. She looked around for anywhere to go but there was nothing. She was trapped. She didn't know if they were friendly or not. She knew that these were definitly the creatures Lyra had talked about. From how she had described them Fluttershy knew these were the 'humans' Lyra was so obssesed with. She suddenly heard a sound coming from the edge of the roof. Fluttershy sank backwards trying to hide herself. She heard footsteps, on what she gathered to be, a ladder. A face suddenly came up from behind the wall. One of the humans had found her.

A New Friend

Fluttershy trembled at the sight of the creature. It was much bigger than her and his hair reminded her of a mop. Fluttershy shrunk further into the corner as the creature approached. It stretched out it's... what were they? It stroked her mane to calm her down. It worked Fluttershy stopped trembling and looked up at the human.
"I'm not going to hurt you." He said calmly "Now lets get you somewhere no one can hurt you." He picked her up as if she was a baby and climbed down the ladder carefully so he didn't accidentally drop her.

Jake opened the door slowly. He switched on the light and laid the now sleeping pegasus on the couch. He looked down at her and smiled at how peaceful she was. He went upstairs and turned the guest room light on. He looked into the partially empty room and smiled. He remembered the times when he was a kid and relatives came over. When his Grandma had died a few years before she had left him the house. He turned the light off and walked into his bedroom. He had been laying on his bed staring up at the ceiling for what felt like hours before he finally got to sleep.

Jake slowly opened his eyes and felt warm breath on his side. He looked down and saw Fluttershy sleeping there. He smiled. His smile was wiped off his face when he suddenly realised two things.

1. He would have to find a way to tell Fluttershy about the show

and

2. He would also have to tell him his secret.

Jake wasn't all that he seemed to be. Most people think him as being human. But he isn't. He's... different. There was a sudden squeak signalling Fluttershy's awakening. Jake turned round to see the timid yellow pegasus hiding in the corner. As soon as she saw his face she calmed down and slowly flew back to sit on the bed. It was suprising how quickly Fluttershy calmed down. Even though it was probably being kind that calmed her down Jake couldn't help but feel warm inside. He felt happier than he had ever been. Just the fact that he wasn't the only person who was far away from home made him happy. He knew he was going to have to tell her the secret. He didn't know when or how he was going to do it but he was going to. She had to know.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fluttershy rested her head against the humans hand smiling. She was happy she had a friend. Even if they were from a different universe and were a different species. At least she knew she wasn't alone. She knew she'd be safe with him. If he was going to hurt her he would have done it by now. She didn't know how he had found her or why he wasn't scared of her but she would have to find that out later. For now she was safe with her new friend. She was sure her other friends were working on a way to get her back but she wasn't entirely sure she wanted to leave. She had only just made a new friend. They still needed to get to know each other and Fluttershy was sure that there was something he needed to tell her. She could tell by his facial expressions. Like he wanted to tell her but decided against it. She looked up and smiled at her friend. Maybe this world isn't bad after all.

The Secret

Fluttershy lay in her bed staring at the ceiling. It was strange how quickly time went in this world. It had been two weeks since she had ended up in this world yet it felt like two days. Jake wasn't telling her something and she was determined to find out what. There was a sudden knock on the door and Jake slowly walked in.

"Fluttershy... there's something I need to tell you." He sighed.

"What is it?" Fluttershy asked with a hint of worry in her voice. Jake sighed before speaking again.

"You're... from a cartoon." He said simply. Fluttershy stared at him.

"W-w-what?" She stammered. Jake just sat there. There was an awkward silence before Jake spoke again.

"I'm also... not... a human." He told her.

"What do you mean you're not a human!?" Fluttershy exclaimed in suprise.

"In Ponyville did you ever see a brown earth pony with an hourglass cutie mark?" Jake asked.

"Y-yes." Fluttershy replied slowly.

"Well. I'm him." Jake told her. Fluttershy looked at him like he was joking. She pretended to laugh.

"Is that some sort of joke?" She replied.

"No. Why would I joke about that?" He asked "Ok. This is what happened. I'm a... time traveller. I tried to get back to Earth, here, it worked. But... I ended up in the wrong body and the TARDIS almost exploded in the process." Fluttershy tried to comprehend what she had just been told.

"Wait." She said "If you're not a human. Then... what are you? Because when you first got to Ponyville your... 'TARDIS' had crashed. So you can't be a pony." Jake sighed.

"I'm... a timelord." He replied. Fluttershy looked confused. "An alien." He said. Fluttershy suddenly shyed away from him. Jake smiled. "If I was going to hurt you I would've done it by now." He laughed. Fluttershy relaxed at those words.

"W-w-what was you're planet like?" She asked.

(Descriptive dialouge stolen from Doctor Who incoming!)

"The sky was a burnt orange with the Citadel enclosed in a mighty glass dome, shining under the twin suns. Beyond that, the mountains go on forever - slopes of deep red grass capped with snow." He told her. Fluttershy smiled at how beautiful it sounded.

(End stolen dialouge)

"Could you take me?" Fluttershy asked. Jake shook his head.

"Even if the TARDIS had recovered I wouldn't be able to." He explained.

"Why not?" Fluttershy replied.

"It's gone." Jake said "It was destroyed. A war. Two races fighting eachother. We lost. Everyone did."

"How did everyone lose?" Fluttershy asked.

"Me." Jake replied simply. Fluttershy's eyes widened. "I had to stop the war." Jake continued "The timelords had been changed. The war had changed them and I had to stop it. They're gone now. And I can't go back."
