Adventures in Dragon-sitting
Aboard the Marestream, the Mane 6 are heading back to the Dragon Lands, with an excited Sparky Sparkeroni.
“Uh, Hitch? What are we’re doing in the Marestream?” Sunny said. Hitch took no notice.
“Relax, Sunny, we’ve been invited to Queen Haven’s royal dinner tonight. Along with that, spending the night at Zephyr Heights.” Hitch replied. “First things first, we’re dropping Sparky off at the Dragon Lands so the dragons can watch over him, and he’s certainly excited about it.”
Sparky babbled excitedly, all while he kissed Hitch and Zipp in the process. “Awww!” Hitch and Zipp said to him.
“We definitely deserve to go on a date someday, right Hitch?” Zipp asked.
“Yeah, Zipp.” Hitch replied. “We deserve to be together forever.”
“But I thought me or Izzy would watch over Sparky.” Pipp said.
“Don’t worry Pipp.” Hitch replied. “I’m pretty sure that the dragons will do a great job at watching over Sparky. Besides, it was difficult to do my sheriff duties and me taking care of him at the same time, so I finally have a good break from all that.”
“Be lucky for now, because when we get to mom for her dinner later, oh boy. Get ready for a long night.” Zipp said to the off-duty sheriff.
“Yeah, first it was Izzy and Pipp and now it’s the dragons. Who knows what will happen to Sparky when he’s with them.” Hitch said.
Once they reached the Isle of Scaly, Sparky gets so excited to the point where he gets out of the Marestream first followed by the Mane 6.
“Well, here we are.” Hitch said, holding up Sparky. “Just look at how excited Sparky is.”
“He’s so excited.” Sunny said. “I’ve never seen him this excited before.”
Sparky was so excited that he kisses Hitch, followed by the rest of the Mane 6 including Zipp, while calling Hitch “papa” and calling the rest of the Mane 6 “mommas” for taking him to the Isle of Scaly.
“Aw, Sparky.” Sunny said.
“Sparky, get excited because the dragons are coming. Wait for it.” Hitch said. “Just another moment and…… now.”
“ANYDRAGON HERE???” Sunny shouted loudly.
“We’re right here, Sunny.” The voice said to Sunny.
The voice belonged to Spike, as he and his friends flew towards the Mane 6 and Sparky.
“Welcome back Sunny.” Spike greeted to Sunny.
“Nice to see you again.” Blaize said excitedly.
“So, what brings you here?” Luxxe asked. “Is it about the hatchling?”
“Is it about dragon-sitting?” Leaf asked. “I love to make jokes with him.”
“Or is it about something exciting?” Tumble said.
“Is he here because of us?” Fountain said.
“We’ll be glad to watch over him for you.” Lava said happliy.
“This should be fun.” Jade said.
“Well, yes.” Hitch replied to the dragons. “We have been invited to a royal dinner tonight with Queen Haven. So can you please watch over Sparky for us?”
“Sure, Hitch.” Spike said. “We wanted to experience how fun it would be to watch over Sparky for you.”
“Sparky looks excited alright.” Hitch said. “Look at him.”
“He’s certainly excited.” Luxxe said.
“Yeah, I can’t wait to tell jokes with him.” Leaf said with excitement.
“Ooh, this will be fun watching over a baby dragon.” Tumble said. “Like, what?”
“It’s like a miracle.” Leaf replied.
“I know.” Lava said.
“Okay. Me and my ponies are gonna get going now.” Hitch said. “See ya later Sparkerooni.”
“Bye ponies.” Spike said, as he and the dragons, including Sparky, waived goodbye to the Mane 6 as the Marestream took off.
“Okay dragons, Sparky’s with us for the night, so we’ll do our best to make sure that he doesn’t cause any trouble.” Spike stated. “He’s just a baby after all.”
“We’re just so excited your Spikeness.” Leaf said. “I just can’t wait to tell jokes with him.”
“I know you’re excited Leaf.” Luxxe said. “We can’t wait to have fun and hang out with him.”
Sparky babbled excitedly. “Joke. Dragon.” Sparky babbled out.
“It seems that Sparky wants a joke.” Spike said.
“Watch this.” Leaf said. “Hey, dragons, what do you call a baby dragon flying? A flying baby dragon.”
Everydragon laughed loudly at the joke Leaf just told.
“Good one Leaf.” Luxxe said.
“What’s next Sparky?” Blaize said.
As Sparky continued babbling, he wanted to hang out with the dragons for the night.
“And now Sparky wants to just hang out with us.” Spike said. “Dragons, Let’s hang out with Sparky.”
The dragons hang out with Sparky for the rest of the day and into the night. When it became dark outside, the dragons decided to call it a night. “Goodnight dragons.” Spike said.
“Goodnight Spike.” The dragons replied.
“And good night to you too Sparky.” Spike said.
As the dragons went to sleep, Sparky got up and explored around the Isle of Scaly, babbling with excitement on his hangout with his dragon friends. This causes the dragons to wake up and find out that Sparky was gone.
“Sparky?” Spike called out.
“Oh no. He’s gone.” Luxxe said.
“We must do something.” Leaf said.
“I agree. Sparky must be around here somewhere.” Tumble said in panic.
“We must not lose Sparky.” Fountain said.
“If Hitch finds out we lost Sparky, who knows what he’ll do.” Blaize said.
“We have no time to lose.” Lava said.
“I agree.” Jade said.
“We’ll just have to hear his babbling.” Spike said. “If not, then we’ll sing a song.”
“Good idea, Spike.” Lava said.
Just then, the dragons heard Sparky’s babbling. “It’s him.” Spike said. “Dragons, he must be right over there.”
“We’re coming Sparky.” Lava said.
They tried to look everywhere including Spike’s throne room, but Sparky wasn’t there.
“Okay, dragons, we’ll sing a song together to find Sparky.” Spike said.
“Even better.” Blaize said.

“Do you hear that?” Spike asked. “That’s Sparky’s voice.”
“How did you learn that was Sparky’s voice?” Lava said.
“It’s a calming response song.” Spike said.
“Well then It’s working.” Luxxe said.
“We need to keep singing it.” Leaf said.

“I can hear him!!!” Spike said excitedly. “He’s in my throne room.”
“Let’s go get him.” Luxxe said.
“While we keep singing.” Leaf said.

“Sparky!!!” The dragons called out as Sparky ran towards them.
“We’re so glad we found you.” Leaf said. “Never run away from your dragon-sitters again.”
Sparky babbled excitedly, so excited that he kisses the dragons in the cheek.
The next morning, the Mane 6 land the Marestream in the Isle of Scaly.
“So how was Sparky last night? Did he run away, did you find him?” Hitch asked.
“That’s exactly what happened last night Hitch.” Spike said. “But me and my dragon friends worked together to find him.”
“We found the little hatchling in Spike’s throne room.” Luxxe said.
“When we couldn’t find him, we sang Pipp’s lullaby in order to find him.” Leaf said.
“Wait, you dragons did what now?” Pipp asked.
“Yes, we did Pipp.” Tumble replied.
“We sang your lullaby in order to find him.” Fountain said to Pipp.
“You said it was a quiet, calming response song.” Lava said.
“So we heard his babbling because of that lullaby.” Jade said.
“And then, we found him. I can’t believe that we got inspiration from a pony.” Blaize said.
“Okay, I see you dragons got some inspiration from me.” Pipp said.
“Come on Sparky.” Hitch said. But just as the Mane 6 were getting ready to leave the Isle of Scaly, Luxxe, Leaf, Lava, Jade, Blaize, Tumble and Fountain were playing with Sparky, throwing him around like a ball.
“Your Spikeness, do you think that you dragons can watch over him again sometime soon?” Hitch asked.
“We’ll be happy to do that, Hitch.” Spike said.
Sparky then ran over to Hitch, hugging him in the process. “I’m so glad you behaved while we were in Zephyr Heights.” Hitch said to his son.
Sparky babbled excitedly. He was having the time of his life.
“Bye dragons.” Sunny said. “We have to go now. See ya later.”
“Again, thanks for taking care of Sparky.” Hitch said.
“We promise to meet again sometime soon.” Misty said.
“Goodbye dragons.” The rest of the Mane 6 said in unison.
“Goodbye ponies.” All of the dragons said in unison.
As the Marestream took off for the Crystal Brighthouse, all of the dragons flew off towards Spike’s throne room.
Back at the Crystal Brighthouse, the Mane 6 chatted with Sparky about what they did in Zephyr Heights. Sparky was happy to hear all about it.
“Mom told us that the royal dinner was awesome.” Zipp said.
“And she offered us our rooms for the night.” Pipp said.
“Pipp also created a new song for her upcoming album.” Izzy said.
“Zoom and Thunder provided us with a royal breakfast this morning.” Sunny said.
“We also had some fun chatting with her in her throne room, and my dad was there too.” Misty said.
“All in all, we had a great time in ZH last night.” Hitch said.
Next, Sparky babbled everything about what happened in the Isle of Scaly. The Mane 6 were both excited and shocked about what happened.
“Leaf told you a funny joke.” Hitch said.
“He also said that he and the dragons hung out together.” Sunny said.
“Then he said that as soon as the dragons woke up, he went missing because he wanted to explore the Isle of Scaly.” Pipp exclaimed. “Then they got some inspiring from me by singing my lullaby to find him when they couldn’t.”
“They heard his own babbling from Spike’s throne room.” Zipp said.
“He also said that the dragons played with him before we left.” Izzy said.
“He said he had a great time at the Isle of Scaly last night.” Misty said.
Sparky kissed each of the Mane 6 for not only letting him stay in the Isle of Scaly for the night but also calls Hitch “papa” and Zipp “momma”.
“Aw. Sparky.” Izzy said. “I feel too cute right now.”
The Mane 6 and Sparky burst into laughter together.
