Love Like Woe
Hello! I'm Spike, Twilight Sparkle's #1 assistant. I'm sure you heard that, and that I'm in love with Rarity. WRONG! Well, the first bit is correct, but I'm not in love with that white unicorn.
Her dresses may be pretty, her mane may be elegant, her coat may be as soft as a kitten, but I don't love her. Sure, she's a good friend of mine, but my true love is....
Twilight!
I know, I know, that purple mare can be freakin' naive.....but I love her so much! I just want to kiss her everytime she talks to me!
And sometimes I find myself staring at her without saying anything.....Yea, I'm pretty whacked!
Oh, here she comes now. Better get in gear...
"Spike, have you seen the book 'Daring Do and the Round Sapphire'? I can't find it anywhere!" Twilight says. She has never seen more beautiful to me right now. Her purple coat washed so it gleams, her mane looking as soft as silk........
"Spike? Spike!" I hear her snap. She pushes me and I fall down.
"Uh, sorry Twilight. Um, Dash checked out that book." I say sheepishly. I feel heat rush to me cheeks.
"Why are you blushing?" The librarian asks me.
"No reason! I'm going to visit Rarity!" I answer quickly, and rush outside. I feel my cheeks burn as I knock on the door of Carousal Boutique. I'm greeted by a white unicorn. Rarity.
"Hi, Spikey Wikey! Come in!" She cooes and I walk inside. Dresses of all shapes and sizes lay scattered on the floor.
"Sorry about the mess." Rarity says apologetically and invites me to sit down.
"No, its fine." I say and sit on a red chair made of velvet. The white mare sits at the opposite chair and sips some chamomile tea.
"Rarity, I have a crush!" I blurt out suddenly. Her eyes sparkle and she smiles.
"You love me? Oh, Spikey Wikey!" She exclaims and tries to pull me into a hug.
"I don't love you!" I protest and she sits back down. Her eyes sparkle with disappointment but her smile remains.
"May I ask who?" She asks gently.
"I-I can't tell you. But do you have any advice?" I stammer, heat going into my cheeks again.
"Just be yourself! And when the time is right, sweep this mare off her hooves!" Rarity says and shooes me away. I step out of the shop and sit at the edge of a fountain. I fall in, but I don't care. What if Twilight doesn't feel the same way about me?
Suddenly, I see Big Macintosh pass. He has purple roses in his mouth, and I see the card attached to it....
"From: Big Macintosh
To: Twilight Sparkle"
I gasp. I suddenly have an idea. I breathe fire on the parchment, sending the flowers out of Equestria. Big Mac turns and glares at me. My green eyes widen with innocence.
"Why'd you do that?" He says coldly.
"I'm sorry, I sneezed." I say innocently. He must believe me! HE MUST!
"Oh, okay." Big Mac's eyes soften and he trots away.
I smile and get out of the water. But then I realize that red stallion is heading towards the library! I hop after him and hide in a bush.
"Oh, Big Macintosh!" I hear Twilight gush. "You're so strong!"
"Aw, shucks..." Big Mac says and nuzzles the purple unicorn. They start rubbing noses, and Big Mac kisses her neck. The kiss turns into a bite, and Twilight giggles and before slamming the door shut onto him.
He starts to proudly walk away and I block his path.
"TWILIGHT SPARKLE IS MINE!!!!" I roar. His soft eyes turn hard and he bends down and looks me in the eyes.
"Twilight loves me." He says gently. His voice drips with venom.
I pop him in the nose. My eyes are blazing with furious green fire. He holds a hoof to his snout and pins me down with a stomp. Pain shoots through my body, and I struggle under his grasp. I kick between his legs and he howls with pain and releases me.
"Listen, Big Mac, I know how to settle this..." I say, my voice poisonous.
"How?" He answers icily.
"Lets have a contest." I hiss. His eyes soften a little.
"Ok, How about at noon?" He says.
"See you then." I hiss and he leaves. I write out the invintations, send them, and I sit down on a park bench. I fall asleep....
I trudge to the stage where Big Mac was showing off his muscles as his act. After thirty minutes, he stops and signals me on.
I get on my suit and Pinkie Pie starts to play on the piano. Then I started to sing....
"Whoa! Oh Oh Oh! Whoa Oh Oh Oh! I kinda feel like it dont make like, like, like, it dont make, feel like it dont make sense.
I'm thinking, baby, you and I are undeniable, but I'm finding out love's unreliable. I'm giving all I got to make you stay, or am I just a roadblock in your way? Finally, I finished my song. Everypony clapped and cheered. Then the crowd split, and Twilight Sparkle was walking down the isle. Big Mac stepped in front of me, his lips puckered. But she just brushed passed him and levitated me towards her. She nuzzled my cheek and....
Twilight Sparkle kissed me on the lips.
