> Equestria Ninja Girls: Ice Sprint. > by Red Tagg > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > White Birthday Surprise > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a typical day in Canterlot City… if you consider a snow day normal. It was snowing outside, which was unusual for this time of year, but no one complained. At Rainbow Dash's house, Rainbow’s alarm was beeping, which meant it was time to wake up. Rainbow groaned as she sat up in her bed and stretched. “What day is it?” She checked her phone to see the date, which reminded her that today was special. “Oh yeah, today's my Birthday!” Rainbow Dash realised with excitement. She then looked outside to see the snow. “And it’s snowing? This is going to be a good day.” Rainbow then got dressed and went downstairs, but once she got down there… “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” The sound of party poppers going off was made by Rainbow’s parents, Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles. “Happy Birthday, Rainbow Dash,” Bow Hothoof said to his daughter. “Thanks, guys,” Rainbow Dash thanked her parents. Before recently, she would’ve been embarrassed by her parents. But after a kidnapping from the Purple Nightmares, Rainbow has gained a much better appreciation for her parent's support. “Another year of our little girl growing up,” Windy Whistles said with tears. “And I hope you have room for your favourite breakfast.” On the table were Blueberry pancakes, which Rainbow happily enjoyed. While they were eating, the TV was presenting the weather forecast. “As an unexpected result, we're dealing with a big snowy day. So, the following schools have been declared a Snow-day. Hollow Shades, Crystal Prep, Canterlot High...” “Yeah! Snow Day!” Rainbow cheered in excitement. After breakfast, Rainbow Dash walked through the snow towards Applejack's house. She received a text to meet her friends at the barn. “No doubt they're planning a surprise party for me.” Rainbow made her way to the barn and went inside. As she did... “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” All of her friends were there. There were the Rainbooms, the Turtles, April, Casey, Karai, Shini, Keno, Zak, Caitlyn, Buffy, Gabby, Carter, Angel, the CMC, and the Rock N Beats. They were all dressed in warm clothes and were present as the barn was decked out for her party. “What, oh, you guys,” Rainbow said, pretending to sound humble. “We had something planned for later, but with school cancelled, Pinkie insisted we start now,” Leo explained. “Well then, let's get it startled,” Rainbow declared. The gang enjoyed themselves, dancing to the music, playing party games and more. Soon, they all gathered around for a rest. “You guys are the greatest,” Rainbow said to her friends. “Thanks, but still surprised by the sudden snow,” Twilight admitted. “Yeah, pretty weird that there was no report of it coming,” Donnie pointed out. “Since when is the weatherman ever right?” Raph asked. “I was gonna bring Chompy, but the little guy was shivering.” “Is he okay?” Rainbow asked, worrying about the baby alien turtle she loves. “Don't worry, we left him with my dad,” April said, knowing her dad would take care of him. In New York, Kirby was sitting on his couch before the fire. Little Chompy sat beside him on the comfy sofa, sleeping with a little blanket over him. Kirby couldn't help but aww as he tucked the blanket on the turtle more. “That’s good to hear. Anyway, we'll have a great time in the snow!” Rainbow said in excitement. “I’m afraid this snow is causing more problems than it seems.” The ninjas turned to see none other than Agent Julia Argent of the Agency to Classify and Monitor Evildoers, or A.C.M.E. Julia approached them. “Agent Argent,” Leo said as he greeted her. “Leonardo, seeing you and your friends again is a pleasure. Along with some new faces,” Julia replied as they shook hands. “Hey Julia, you here for the party!” Pinkie said in glee. Julia noticed the banner with Rainbow Dash's name on it. “Oh, well, Happy Birthday, Rainbow Dash,” Julia wished Rainbow. “Thanks, Jules,” Rainbow replied. “So, what exactly is going on?” Sunset Shimmer asked. “Well, it's best that the Chief explains.” Julia pulled out a pen, clicked it and dropped it on the ground. Soon, a holograph of a woman appeared. “Greetings, Ninjas, Rainbooms; it's been some time,” Chief greeted them. She then noticed the banner. “And I see we interrupted a party. Happy Birthday Rainbow Dash.” “Thanks, Chief.” “So I take it there’s trouble?” Leo asked. “Indeed,” Chief confirmed. “Espera! Hold on!” Gabby interrupted the conversation. “Aren’t we gonna get some introductions here?” “Yeah, who’s the ghost lady?” Zach asked. “Guys, this is Chief, the leader of ACME,” Leo introduced ACME’s head. “And this Agent Julia Argent.” “ACME?” Angel asked. “The Agency to Classify and Monitor Evildoers,” Chief explained. “And no need for introductions. I know about you: Zack and Caitlyn Roberts, Buffy Shellhammer, Gabrielle Rivera, and Carter and Angel Bridge. We’ve been aware of you since Rio.” “Let’s just hope she’s nothing like Ms Nowhere,” Angel whispered. “I assure you I’m nothing like her,” Chief interjected. “Wait, you know Ms Nowhere?” Rainbow asked. “Let’s just say she and I have a history,” Chief explained with a bit of disdain, which everyone understood. “But forget about all that. I’m here to tell you about a serious problem we need help with.” “What’s going on?” Leo asked. Julia then got out a tablet and began typing, as Chief explained. “You see, this snow is not natural.” Julia pulled up an image of a giant flying machine producing snow. “Our satellites have detected five of these flying fortresses that appear to be the source of the snowstorm covering North America.” “Whoa, so the snow isn’t natural weather but man-made?” Twilight asked. “It would appear so,” Chief pointed out. “Ooh, that means we’ll have lots of fun in the snow!” Pinkie said with glee. “I’m afraid that’s not the case, Pinkie,” Donnie pointed out. “If this snow continues, my family won’t be able to farm our crops,” Applejack pointed out. “Also, supplies won’t be able to come to and from in this weather,” Twilight inquired. “So many innocent animals won't be able to get food in this weather. They won't survive,” Fluttershy said, fearing for the little animals. “Not to mention this winter fashion will start to get old,” Rarity put, which everyone eye-rolled. “Glad you see the danger these pose,” Chief said. “Two of these have been sighted above your areas, so we need you to shut these down so the snow can stop. Also, we spotted a figure on one of the platforms.” An image appeared on the tablet. A polar bear-like creature was seen on the platform. “It would appear the one you call Tora is manning one of the fortresses’,” Chief explained. "That makes sense since he tried to freeze New York last time,” Carter explained. “Is he behind all the fortress'?” Twilight asked. “He tried to do it to New York. Make sense he would go bigger,” Zach pointed out. “We believe he's collaborating with someone else with means and resorts,” Chief explained. "VILE?” Leo asked, knowing Chief wouldn't be involved if VILE wasn't involved. “There has been VILE chatter, but we're unsure why they want to do this.” “Well, whatever the reason, you can count on us to shut them down, Chief”, Leo declared. “I know I can,” Chief said with satisfaction. “Oh yeah, Birthday mission,” Rainbow said with excitement. “I’m sorry, Rainbow Dash, but I’m afraid you won’t be joining them,” Chief declared, which surprised the group, especially Rainbow Dash. “What? Why not!?” Rainbow demanded to know. “Because I have a separate and urgent mission for you that requires your skills,” Chief explained. “What kind of mission?” Rainbow asked. “There’s a young girl in Seattle in need of a heart transplant. And because of the snow, air traffic is grounded. So we need you to pick up the heart in Boston and run it cross-country to Seattle.” Rainbow understood a life was in danger, but she had doubts. “Chief, with all due respect, I’ve never used my speed to run that far before. And super speed and ice don’t mix well.” “Whether you’ve done it or not, you’re the best option we have at the moment,” Chief pointed out. Julia then got out a case she was holding. “And as for the snow, we have something that might help.” Julia opened the case to reveal a pair of long black boots with blue stripes on the sides and rainbows attached to the ankles. “These boots are designed to be compatible with your super speed while keeping traction with snow, ice and other terrains. We also gave them a colour you might like. Consider this a Birthday gift from ACME.” Rainbow looked super excited about her new gift. “Awesome. Now these look like my style,” Rainbow Dash said with excitement. “And it goes with your look,” Rarity, ever the fashionista, pointed out. “I trust this means you’ll take the mission?” Chief asked. Rainbow Dash would've liked to help her friends, but a little girl's life was in her hands. “You can count on me, Chief,” Rainbow saluted to the Chief. “Excellent,” Chief said before turning to Julia. Julia then grabbed Rainbow's wrist and attached a wristband with a screen on it. “This wrist tablet will give you the coordinates needed and help you stay on course. It'll also help you communicate with us if any problems occur. Failure is not an option for this mission. Can we count on you?” “I can do it, Chief,” Rainbow declared with determination. “Good. You better get going as soon as possible,” Chief declared. Rainbow turned to her friends. “Good luck with the snow machines,” Rainbow said to them. “And good luck on your mission,” Leo replied. “We know you can do it, Rainbow,” Sunset encouraged Rainbow. “That girl is in good hands,” Twilight said. Each friend gave Rainbow the encouragement she needed, as this mission had high stakes. > Heart Pickup > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow Dash was running across the snow-covered landscape, now wearing her new boots, a jacket, a beanie, and a scarf around her mouth to keep her face warm. “These boots are certainly better for running across snow in,” Rainbow thought. She then checked out the little touchscreen on her wrist to see that she was on the right path towards Boston. She then heard Chief's voice coming through the tablet. “Local law enforcement nationwide has been notified of your mission. We did not disclose information on your identity,” Chief spoke through the communicator. “Gotcha, Chief,” Rainbow understood. “Hope the others are doing well on their mission.” At one of the Ice fortresses, the turtle blimp was slowly approaching the fortress. On it were Leo, Twilight, Raph, Karai, Applejack, Casey, Pinkie Pie, Keno, Angel, Carter, Adagio, Applebloom, Scootaloo, Lance. Melody and Sweet-Note. Leo was piloting the blimp. “Okay, so we take out Tora's laser-shooting snowmen or whatever else he has and sneak into the main control room. Then Twilight and Chaplin shut down the snow-making process. Then we land it in a clear area, away from civilians,” Leo explained the plan. “Gee, sounds simple,” Raph said with sarcasm. “We don't know what to expect when we get there,” Angel pointed out. “Wonder how Sunset and the others are doing?” Applejack wondered. “I'm sure they're fine. After all, they have better transportation,” Raph said, feeling jealous. The others, Donnie, Mikey, April, Sunset Shimmer, Fluttershy, Rarity, Shinigami, Gabby, Carter, Aria Sonata, Sweetie Belle, Ace, Sweetheart and Half Note, were making their way towards the Ice Fortress in one of the Foot Clan’s helicopters. “This is a nice helicopter you have, Karai,” Carter commented. “Thanks. It’s the Foot Clans, but it works wonders,” Karai inquired. “Well, just wait till you see the one I'm working on,” Donnie said smugly. “You mean that old helicopter you've got from the scrapyard you've been working on?” Mikey asked. “When I'm done, it'll be super cool,” Donnie proudly said. “Alright, guys, we're getting close to the fortress. They'll probably have defences, so be on alert,” Sunset pointed out. “We just need to get close for Donnie to hack in and shut down the fortress.” “Wonder how Rainbow is doing with her mission,” Fluttershy wondered, worrying about her friend. Rainbow continued to run through the snow as she approached Boston. Ahead of her was a traffic jam. “No biggie,” Rainbow said with confidence. Rainbow jumped over the cars and ran across the tops. “Just like jumping over buildings in New York,” Rainbow said nonchalantly. Rainbow kept running until she reached the hospital. Outside were doctors and nurses waiting for her. “Rainbow Dash speedy delivery service, here to pick up the package,” Rainbow said upon arrival. “What you're delivering is very important and delicate,” the doctor explained. She then handed Rainbow a backpack which contained the heart. “This carbon fibre carrier will protect the heart from the friction of the trip and will help keep it in pristine condition. But you'll only have six hours to get it to Seattle before it becomes useless for the girl.” “You can count on me,” Rainbow Dash said. “Then get going.” With the heart in hand, Rainbow Dash began running west to save the girl. None of them realised they were being watched through the Hospital security cameras. They were being watched by a man with pale skin, a woman in a green dress and many jewels, and a woman in a lab coat and goggles. They were VILE Faculty. “Well, this is an unexpected hindrance,” Maelstrom said with disappointment. “They cannot ruin this for us; there’s more at stake!” Dr Bellum growled. “I think we have bigger problems than that, Saira,” Countess Cleo pointed out. “Indeed, luckily, we have some agents on her route,” Maelstrom inquired. “But after New York, it'll be difficult for them to get the heart,” Cleo reminded Maelstrom, remembering New York. “They don't need to stop her; they just need to stall her long enough,” Maelstrom reassured the Countess. He then had a sinister look. “And we will gain so much once they're all gone.” > Spinning and Flying stop > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the platform of the ice fortress, Leo's group were taking down the defences on the Ice fortress. “In case you didn't know,” Raph declared as he destroyed a defence laser. “Turtles are cold-blooded.” Pinkie Pie destroyed some defences by using her exploding sprinkles to blow up the mechanisms. “This is for interrupting our friend's birthday party,” Pinkie declared, ticked off about the work she put in going to waste. Applejack used her strength to destroy some defences as well. “I will not let these machines ruin mah families or anyone else's crops.” Leo was slicing his way through them blasters. He informed everyone, “Alright, we just need to get into the control centre...” “You won’t be going anywhere...” The gang turned to see a mutant Polar Bear wearing a leather jacket while holding a blaster. “Tora,” Leo said, recognising the bear. “That's Tora?” Twilight asked. “The one and only,” Tora boasted. “And you must be the Rainbooms I’ve heard so much about. You'll make lovely ice statues.” “So freezing the city wasn’t enough the last time; now you're trying to freeze the whole country?!” Raph demanded. “A frozen country needs a leader that can handle it,” Tora proclaimed. “Well, your plan’s about to melt, you oversized teddy bear!” Raph declared as he charged at Tora. Rainbow continued to run through the snow. “So far so good,” Rainbow thought to herself. She was passing through a city when, straight up ahead, in front of a tunnel, there was a car pileup. There were no civilians, but the wreckage was blocking her path. “Gonna have to go around.” Rainbow went past the tunnel and through an avenue of stores and restaurants, which made Rainbow's stomach growl. “I could use some food... focus, Rainbow,” Rainbow argued to herself. She continued to run through the city. She was nearly out when something came flying towards her. Rainbow ducked to avoid it. She then noticed a young man with a headband in front of her trying to hit her with a kick. She dodged it and distanced herself. She then noticed a young woman with twin braids with him. The woman was holding a pair of bolas in her hands. “Nice to meet you, Rainbow Dash,” the man said to Rainbow. “Who are you guys,” Rainbow Dash demanded. “The name's Spin Kick,” the man introduced himself. “And I'm Flytrap,” the woman introduced herself while spinning her bolas. “They sound awfully like Jake and Luz,” Rainbow thought. “What do you want.” “We just want a chance to beat you,” Spin Kick said. “The great undefeatable Rainbow Dash is about to be defeated,” Flytrap said as she threw another bola. Rainbow dodged it. She reached behind her back for her Naginata spear but remembered she didn't have it. She left it behind because she didn't think she'd be fighting anyone and didn’t need the extra weight. “Oh, sewer apples.” Rainbow continued to fight them hand to hand. Flytrap was about to throw another bola, but a bird call was suddenly heard. They looked up to see a falcon flying down towards Flytrap. It swooped down and attacked the two, grabbing a bola. Rainbow was confused. But she looked at her watch and remembered she was against the clock. Using the bird attack as a distraction, Rainbow ran towards them, and when she got close, she skidded across, causing the snow to hit the two. The falcon evaded it by flying up, but the snow hit the two. That allowed Rainbow to get out of there and continue on her route. Spin Kick and Flytrap recovered to see Rainbow was gone. Spin Kick looked at the time on his phone, but it was not what he wanted. “Not long enough,” Spin Kick grumbled. “We may have failed, but we're just the first obstacle,” Flytrap reminded her partner. After attacking the two VILE operatives, the falcon flew through the skies before it circled above some tree tops, where a lone figure stood on the highest branch of a tall tree. The figure wore a white stealth jacket and black pants, light grey fingerless gloves and black boots, a beige cloak with the hood up, and a black mask and goggles covering his face. He had a sword strapped to his back and throwing knives along his belt. The figure held out his arm, and the falcon perched on it. "Well done, Aaserak," he petted the falcon before it dropped the bolas into his hand. "So it seems I was right. The black sheep of my family is once again trying to take what is not his!" He threw the bolas in the air and sliced it with one of his daggers. "But neither he nor VILE ever counted on me!" The falcon flew off to find Rainbow Dash. The figure then pulled out a phone. The phone showed footage of a young brown-skinned girl with brown hair sleeping in a hospital bed. Next to her was a brown-skinned elderly woman with short grey hair, wearing a lavender jumper with a white collar, black slacks, shiny shoes, and a golden nose ring. She also had a cane with a robin figure on the top. The woman was holding the girl's hand. Even under the mask, the figure's expression softened, becoming more determined. "You'll get that heart; I promise you that." > Brunt Wall > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow Dash continued to run through the snow. According to her map, she was on the right track. “Okay, so those two made me delay by five minutes, but still making a great time. Just about halfway there. But only four hours left.” Just then, she noticed some headlights from behind her. Rainbow turned to see a car driving behind her as it caught up with her. The window rolled down, revealing a man with spiked hair and a beard wearing an ACME Uniform. “Good afternoon, Mademoiselle Dash. I am Agent Chase Devinaux,” Devinaux introduced himself. “I've heard of you,” Rainbow said, remembering the stories she heard from Carmen and Julia, particularly about his driving skills. “Indeed, and I'm here to drive you part of the way in this new fast car that adapts to the snow,” Devinaux boasted while admiring the car. “Uh, Mr Devinaux, thanks for the offer, but you might want to look ahead,” Rainbow warned the man as she pointed ahead. “What?” Devinaux looks ahead to see a frozen lake coming. “No, no, no, no!” Devnaux slides on the frozen lake, which cracks, causing him to sink. “Julia was right; he does have bad driving skills.” Rainbow looked at her watch and determined she didn't have time to help. “I'm sure he's fine.” Rainbow then zips off. At the bottom of the frozen lake, Devinaux sat in the car sulking, utterly embarrassed that he drove to the bottom of the water... again. Just then, Agent Zari appeared on the screen, looking annoyed at Devinaux. “Why am I not surprised?” Zari said, knowing the mess they have to clean up now. At the Ice Fortress, Donnie’s group were still taking out the defences while Donnie was working on the control panel. “Donnie, how much longer?” Carter asked as they continued to fight off the defences. “It would go faster if you didn't keep interrupting me!” Donnie said in annoyance. “Just keep going,” Rarity said as she blocked some laser blasts with her diamond shield. "These cosas need to go abajo!" Gabby pointed out as the blasters kept blasting until one blasted at Gabby. She was pushed back and over the edge. "¡DIOS MÍO! Everyone was shocked and worried that Gabby had gone overboard. “GABBY!” With Leo’s team, the same thing happened to Casey; he was caught in a blast and fell off the platform. “CASEY!” Casey was falling through the sky. “This is so metal!” Casey then pulled a cord that was on his coat and pulled it. A parachute shot out from the back, allowing Casey to land gently. “It was a good thing we had these parachutes placed into our coats before we came here.” Gabby was floating down, thanks to a parachute she had on, just in case. “Well, that was vengonzosos.” Gabby then noticed Casey floating near where she was. “At least I'm not the only one that fell off.” Gabby and Casey landed on the ground and met up with each other. “So, had trouble on the Ice Fortress?” Gabby teased Casey. “Well, at least I went out in a cool way.” Gabby replied, “Sure you did. Now, how are we going to get back to Canterlot?” Casey and Gabby needed to find out where they were, as they were stuck in a snowy area. Then, Casey noticed something up ahead. He said, “Hey, look, headlights.” Headlights were indeed heading straight towards them. Rainbow kept running. She looked to see she was over the halfway mark. “Over halfway there, just hope there aren't more distractions.” But that thought was for nought when she noticed something: a prominent figure standing in her path. But before she could stop, the figure grabbed her by the head and lifted her off the ground. It was none other than a member of the VILE Faculty, Coach Brunt. “Not so fast, speedy,” Brunt mocked Rainbow as she held her. “Coach Brunt!?” Rainbow said in surprise. “What're you doing here?” “Just here to get a little payback after you and your friends defeated us last time.” “Well then, you'll have to get me first,” Rainbow declared. Rainbow then used her legs to kick Brunt in the face, but Brunt blocked her legs, which caused the Coach to let go, and she flipped off of her. “Always protect the face,” Brunt said. She then charged at Rainbow but used her speed to dodge Brunt. “Can't hit what you can't catch,” Rainbow boasted. “When I was told I was facing one of them Rainboom gals, I hoped it'd be Applejack. She and I are due for a rematch,” Brunt declared, looking for a rematch with Applejack. “Still embarrassed after she threw you off that roof,” Rainbow mocked Brunt. “Don't push it, little speedy. You may be fast, but it doesn’t matter. Speed won't matter against raw muscle.” Brunt tried to punch Rainbow, but she dodged, except when Brunt didn't miss and sent her flying. Rainbow managed to recover and land safely without damaging the heart. She looked to see Brunt was blocking her route. So, she ran in the other direction. “What's the matter, little girl? Too scared to face Mama Bear. Lambkins had better courage than you,” Brunt mocked as she watched Rainbow. Once Rainbow was at a distance, Rainbow stopped and turned around. “You can't hit if something hits you first,” Rainbow said as she ran full speed towards Brunt. Brunt readied herself, thinking she could catch her. However, before Rainbow Dash arrived, the same falcon from before attacked Brunt in the face. “Agh! Get off, you stupid bird,” Brunt said in frustration as the falcon attacked her. Rainbow, using the distraction to her advantage, charged full speed. The falcon pulled up, out of the way. Brunt watched as Rainbow approached and delivered a punch to the face so strong that it pushed Brunt back, causing her to fall onto her back. “What's that you said about speed being no match for raw muscle?” Rainbow rhetorically asked. “And what happened to always protecting the face?” Rainbow then made a break for the path before Brunt came too. Brunt looked around to see the girl gone. She then checked her phone to see how long it took. “A few more minutes would've been better. But the girl has one more obstacle to pass,” Coach declared, ensuring VILE hasn't failed yet. “But where did that stupid bird go?” What Brunt wasn’t aware of was that there was a drone watching the battle. In an unknown building, the footage from the drone was being shown on a screen. A particular super thief in her classic red coat and hat was watching it. With her was a middle-aged Japanese man. It was Carmen Sandiego and Shadowsan. “Well, she held her own against Brunt pretty well,” Carmen said, sounding impressed. “Not an easy feat, but she managed to get away,” Shadowsan pointed out. “Ivy, how's it going on your end?” Carmen said into her phone. “We're on Vera's trail, but it looks like VILE has put their plans in motion,” Ivy told them through the computer. “We also managed to pick up two passengers along the way,” Zack said. Casey and Gabby appeared on the screen. “Hey Carmen, Shadowsan, it's been a while,” Casey greeted the duo. “Hey Casey, who's your friend?” “Hola, I'm Gabby Rivera, nice to meet ya,” Gabby introduced herself. Carmen greeted her, “Hola to you too. Now, I take it Zack and Ivy told you their mission?” “Yep, they told us everything,” Casey confirmed, still reeling about what they heard. “Then you know what's at stake if VILE succeed,” Shadowsan said. “Yes, we get it,” Gabby assured. “Then good luck on your end,” Carmen said as the video call turned off. “Nice to know Zack and Ivy have help on their end.” “Yes. For we're more needed here right now,” Shadowsan said. “Heads up, gang. Video call from our new associate,” Player’s voice on the computer said. Appearing on the screen was the exact hooded figure. “I trust the girl is nearly there with the heart,” the figure said. “She is. But I fear that VILE will throw one more obstacle to delay her,” Shadowsan theorised. “I'll deal with that. I need you guys here to stop VILE's plan on your side,” the figure said as the call was cut off. Carmen told him, “Okay, Shadowsan, we have some important people to protect from VILE.” Shadowsan continued, “Or VILE will gain major resources for their schemes.” > Paper Snowflakes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Leo's group continued to take out the defences, Leo kept dodging Tora's blasts from his freeze ray. “So what exactly is the real reason?” Leo asked the polar bear. “What do you mean?” Tora asked in confusion. “This kind of thing, no way you could've built it by yourself. You had to have some help, like VILE,” Leo pointed out. “Yeah, what exactly is their game here?” Raph demanded. “Sorry, but that's for me to know and for you never to find out.” Tora then blasts at them with his freeze ray. Twilight and Chaplin were hacking into the controls of the fortress. “I just hope we can get it,” Twilight said as she continued the hack. “We’re almost there,” Chaplin encouraged. The two geniuses continued to hack away when they finally got what they wanted. “Leo, it's done!” Twilight confirmed. “We set it to crash in an abandoned area,” Chaplin explained. “But we only have a few minutes.” “Everyone, back to the Turtle Blimp!” Leo ordered the team for their safety. As the ninjas got onto the blimp, Tora was outraged as he put on a backpack. “This is not over,” Tora declared as he jumped off the platform. A parachute then opened up for Tora. Leo and the group looked down to see Tora floating down. "He's getting away," Applebloom pointed out. Twilight noticed something and then smirked. "I don't think so," Twilight said as she pointed. Tora continued to float down. "I may have been stopped, but I'm VILE. I will still pay me top dollar," Tora said to himself as he floated down. But then suddenly, Tora stopped floating and fell before being dangled by the parachute. "What the...?" Tora looked up to see the Foot Clan helicopter, which released a harpoon which snagged his parachute. Inside the helicopter, Fluttershy manned the harpoon shooter. “Nice aim, Fluttershy,” Karai complimented. “Thank you,” Fluttershy said in her timid voice. As Rainbow continued to run. She was nearly at her destination. “Nearly there, hopefully, it's not too late,” Rainbow said with hope. But just then, some projectiles came towards her. Rainbow dodged them, then took cover behind a nearby tree as more hit the trunk. Once she was sure they stopped, she peaked to try and see who was doing it. She then noticed something wedged into the trunk. Rainbow grabbed it to see it was... a paper star. “Oh no,” Rainbow realised. That's when she heard the singing. “La, la la, la la.” Skipping through the snow was none other than deranged VILE operative, PaperStar. “Enjoying the snow, are we?” “What are you doing here, Paper Star?” Rainbow demanded the VILE Operative. “I'm here to make sure that there will be heartbreak,” Paperstar declared as she equipped with more paperstars. “Both hearts.” Paperstar began to throw multiple stars, but Rainbow used her speed to dodge them as she hid behind the tree. “Wait, how does she know about the heart?” Rainbow wondered. “Wait a minute, Coach Brunt, Spinkick and Flytrap. They were all after the heart.” “Come out, come out, wherever you are. I want you to play with me in the snow,” Paperstar playfully said as she had some paper snowflakes in her hand. “I got to get away from here and fast,” Rainbow thought. Just then, paperstar appeared around the tree. "Boo.” Paperstar then tried to slice Rainbow with a paper knife. Rainbow dodged and kicked the paper knife out of her hand. Paperstar was about to throw another star when that same falcon swooped and snatched it from her. “What the?” Paperstar was confused, as was Rainbow Dash. That bird again?” Paperstar was about to throw another when a knife was thrown out of nowhere and sliced the paper that was in her hand. “Who did that?” Paperstar said in anger. The two looked to see the cloaked figure walking up to them in the snow. The falcon landed on his stretched-out arm, showing it was his pet. “Who are you?” Rainbow asked the figure. “I am a guardian, here to make sure that heart goes to that girl,” the guardian declared. “Fat chance,” Paperstar declared as she threw more stars at the guardian. The guardian then drew out his sword and used it to block the stars as the guardian got close to Paperstar. They then turned to Rainbow. “Get the heart to the girl. I'll deal with her!” Rainbow hesitated to trust the stranger but knew time was running out. So she had no other choice but to run. As she ran, she grabbed one of the throwing knives the guardian left behind. “You just made a big mistake,” Paperstar declared as she prepared more stars. “The only one who made a big mistake here is you.” A second blade appeared from the handle, becoming a double-bladed sword. The guardian charged at Paperstar. Rainbow saw the hospital coming into view. Her body was aching, and she was hungry, but she saw the hospital was right there, and her mission was complete. Outside was a woman wearing scrubs, a headcover and a surgical mask. Rainbow thought there was something familiar about her, but she didn’t worry about that for a moment. “Here's the heart for the girl,” Rainbow said as she handed the carrier to the doctor. “I'm very sorry, but the girl died twenty minutes ago,” the doctor sadly said. “What? Twenty!? Those fights lasted longer,” Rainbow said with realisation. Her delays had killed a little girl. “You did your best,” the doctor said, touching Rainbow's shoulder. Rainbow was filled with guilt that her negligence got a little girl killed. > The Princess's Heart > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow sat in the hospital lobby, feeling very sad. That little girl had her life ahead of her, and because she wasn't fast enough, the girl had died. It was not what she wanted to happen on her birthday. “How could I have let this happen?” Rainbow said, feeling massive guilt. ‘“Let what happen, Rainbow?” Rainbow looked up to see none other than the spirit of Master Splinter. “I sense you are feeling great guilt about something,” Splinter told the girl. “I was meant to deliver a heart to a sick little girl, but I was too late,” Rainbow explained while feeling genuinely guilty. “All because I wasn’t fast enough.” “What you’re feeling is genuine, but it shouldn’t weigh you down,” Splinter advised her. “Especially considering your work isn’t done.” Rainbow went from feeling guilty to confused. “What do you mean?” “There she is!” Just then, a group of doctors came running to her. Rainbow turned to see Master Splinter was gone. But didn’t say anything as the doctors approached her. “Where's the Princess's heart.” That sentence got her attention. “Princess? Because the girl died, the heart's going to a princess?” Rainbow asked in confusion. “No, the girl is the Princess. Princess Saunda Shaah, the youngest granddaughter of Queen Unna Shaah of Reinkani, age ten. She isn't dead, but she is running out of time. Rainbow was very confused. The doctor outside the hospital told her the girl died. That's when Rainbow realised why the doctor looked familiar. “I've been conned.” Rainbow looked around the lobby until she saw the “doctor” in the elevator holding the carrier. The woman noticed Rainbow and mockingly waved to her while smirking under the mask while the door closed. “Rainbow ran towards the elevator, but it was too late; it closed. “No, no, no!” Rainbow said in frustration as she slammed her fist on the door. She then looked up to see the elevator going down. She also noticed a staircase next to her. So Rainbow used her speed to run down after the fake doctor, hoping it wasn’t too late. ... The elevator arrived at an underground parking lot, and the doctor stepped out. She then removed her headpiece and surgical mask and threw off her scrubs, revealing herself as none other than VILE Operative Tigress. “Sucker,” Tigress said to herself, feeling proud. Waiting for her were fellow operatives Le Cheve and El Topo. With them was a mysterious figure, a brown-skinned man with brown curly hair, wearing a dark green overcoat, brown dress shirt, black slacks and shoes. He was also holding a cane. Tigress approached them. “So, mi amiga, did the bait and switch work?” El Topo asked. “Like a charm,” Tigress smirked, holding out the carrier. “Excellent!” The figure took the heart with an evil grin. “Soon, I shall become king of Reinkani, as I should have been from the beginning.” “Just remember the agreement you made with the faculty,” Le Cheve reminded him. “Don't worry, I am a man of my word. My only regret is that I never got a chance to thank young Rainbow Dash for her help in starting my rule.” “She should call herself Rainbow Chump!” Tigress mocked as Le Cherve snickered at that sentence. Suddenly, the door to the stairs burst open, and Rainbow came speeding out. Before they could react, El Topo and Le Cheve were knocked down by Rainbow and Tigress was pinned against a pillar. “A chump, huh!?!” Rainbow glared. “Now give me back the heart, Tigress!” “Why don’t you tell that to him?” Tigress pointed. Rainbow looked back to see the figure enter a car with the heart and drive away. She threw Tigress away and tried to run after the car, only to find, to her horror, that she had no speed. She frantically felt around her neck and discovered her geode was gone. “Lose something?” Rainbow spun around to see Tigress holding her geode before putting it into her boot. “It'll be hard for you to get the heart back without that little speed of yours.” She got out her claws as Le Cherve and El Topo got back up, ready to fight. “And if I'm not mistaken, you don’t have that bladed stick you held last time,” Le Cheve pointed. Rainbow knew Goat Boy was right. She looked at the three operatives, then back at the car. But she remembered the little souvenir she got from that guardian. “That's true. But good thing I'm also a ninja!” Rainbow threw the knife towards the car, nailing it right into the tyre, popping it and forcing it to stop. Then, she turned to her opponents in a fighting position. “Now give me my geode back, and maybe I won't kick your butt! Much!” “Don't make threats you can't keep, senorita.” El Topo ran to punch Rainbow, but Rainbow dodged, and Roundhouse kicked him. Le Cheve then tried to jump-kick her, but Rainbow grabbed his leg and threw him away. Tigress tried to claw at Rainbow multiple times, but Rainbow dodged each one, then dodged, rolled and leg-swept the kitty kat. But what Rainbow didn’t notice was the goat and mole recovering, then grabbing Rainbow from behind. Rainbow struggled to break free. “Nowhere to run now, Rain-dumb-bow,” Tigress mocked as she got her claws out. The figure got out of the car and approached them. “Now, now, let me just have a word with her first," the figure said, approaching. "So, you're the speedy delivery girl. Thank you so much for delivering me the key to my victory.” “Who are you?” “I am Count Dushta Bisp of Reinkani. Nephew of Queen Unna Shaah. And in a matter of minutes, King of Reinkani.” Rainbow then began to put the pieces together. “So that’s what this was all about. The princess needed a new heart, and you saw an opportunity to get the crown.” “Indeed, young one. Soon the little princess will die from a lack of heart, her dear grandmother will die from heartbreak over the death of her youngest granddaughter. And, the eldest granddaughter, crowned princess Vera Shaah, will soon die from a car crash, personally driving up here in the snow to see her sick little sister.” “Leaving you to take the crown.” “Correct. But there are still others left, but that can wait till after. After I dispatch of the Royal B…” “Watch your mouth!” Carmen Sandiego dropped and kicked the Count, making him drop the case. Rainbow was surprised by the appearance of her red-suited friend. “Carmen!?!” “Hey Rainbow, been a while,” Carmen greeted Rainbow Dash. “Oh no, you don’t!” Tigress tried to attack her, but Carmen Roundhouse kicked her. Then, a figure jumped down behind Le Cheve and El Topo. It was the guardian from before. He side-kicked the goat and knife-handed the mole. “You again?” “Relax, he’s with me,” Carmen assured Rainbow. The Vile Trio gained consciousness. “Who are you?” Le Cheve asked. “I am a guardian.” “Whoever you are, you just made a big mistake!” Tigress released her claws. “And you made the mistake of messing with my country.” “By the way, Rainbow, you might need this.” Carmen showed Rainbow her geode, which she managed to swipe from Tigress. “What?!” “My Geode!” The Rainbow tried to get it, but Tigress managed to grab it from Carmen. “Too slow.” But the guardian managed to kick the geode away from her, flying it and landing on one of the steel beams above. Le Cheve used his climbing skills to reach up and grab the Geode. “Voila!” But by then, the guardian’s falcon swiped it from Le Cheve. “Hey!” The falcon dropped it, allowing Rainbow to catch it. “Ah yeah!” Rainbow put on her geode and speed-tackles El Topo. She then races and punches Tigress across the face, knocking her out. After which, she races and grabs the heart. “Who’s the chump now!” But at that moment, Rainbow felt a sharp pain in her side. “Argh!” She looks to see she’s been cut on her side by Bisp, who used the sword in his cane. “Rainbow!” Carmen helped her up. “I will not be denied my destiny.” Bisp tries to kill her and Carmen and destroy the heart, but the guardian gets between them and blocks Bisp’s attack with his sword. “I should have known you’d interfere to protect your cousin, Yod.” “Cousin?” Rainbow asked in confusion while still dealing with the pain. “And I was right to suspect you, Dushta.” The figure, or Yod, pushed Dushta away. He then removed his jacket and cloak. He wore a green 3-quarter-sleeved shirt and black hair tied in an upward bun. “And you're gonna pay for your crimes.” More men arrived in the parking lot as the VILE trio gained consciousness. Yod turned to Rainbow. “Go, Rainbow! Get the heart to Saundra!” Yod ordered Rainbow as she got up. Rainbow was hesitant to leave the two, which Carmen could tell. “Don’t worry about us; just get the heart to the princess.” Rainbow then sped away toward the exit. Heart in her hands and pain in her side. “Please let there still be time; please let there still be time!” Rainbow ran out of the parking lot and towards the front hospital entrance and ran through the glass window. That got the attention of the doctors as she fell to the ground. “Get the heart to the Princess, hurry!” The doctors took the heart as more checked on her, as Rainbow passed out from her injuries. > The Count's Confession > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Outside a hotel, a brown-skinned teenage girl with brown hair in a ponytail, wearing a pink turtle neck, jeans, brown boots and a jewel nose stud, stood with her guards when a state-of-the-art car pulled up, the one she would be driving to her sister. The door opened, and out stepped a stout woman with blond hair, wearing mechanic coveralls underneath a winter jacket. "Car's all set, love," she said in a cockney accent. "I mean, Your Highness." "Thank you. And please, call me Vera," The girl, Vera, introduced herself. Princess Vera looked confused, "Forgive me, but you are not the valet to bring my car?" "Ah yes, well, the valet became, uh, indisposed," the woman answered. "I'm the stand-in." "Given this sudden blizzard, I suppose that would be plausible," Vera replied, uncertain. "Princess, this is an unwise decision," one of the guards warned. "Driving alone out in the open will make you an irresistible target." "I am well aware of the risk," Vera said. "But I must be there for my sister. Grandmother's already there, but Saundra still needs support, so it is a risk that will take!" "Love that determination, mate," the woman thumbed up. "And you gents needn't worry. Get a load of this storm." She motioned to the blizzard. "Anyone who'd try to pinch or snuff the princess in this weather would have to be mad!" Vera smiled at the reassurance before she got into the car and drove off into the storm. The woman watched her leave with a warm smile before she backfisted the two guards, knocking them out. Then, her smile turned into an evil smirk. "And we're mad enough to try!" She grinned, revealing herself as the VILE operative, The Mechanic. After taking down the Ice fortresses, the ninjas took refuge in the school with Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna’s permission. The Rock N Beats went home to rest. The Turtles, Allies, Rainbooms, and CMC sat in the music room. Buffy was on her phone speaking to Gabby, as they still hadn’t found them after they fell off the fortresses. “Okay, thank goodness you and Casey are okay.” Buffy hung up and turned to the others. “Gabby and Casey are okay. They’re with two people called Zack and Ivy.” “I’m right here,” Zach said, clearly not understanding. “She’s not talking about you. She’s talking about these two redheads they know,” Buffy clarified. “Zach and Ivy, from Carmen Sandiego’s crew?” Sunset recalled. “Carmen Sandiego, that lady thief you told us about?” Caitlyn asked, remembering hearing about her friends’ adventure with her. “Yep, her,” Twilight confirmed. “So Casey and Gabby are alright,” April said in relief. “But what about Rainbow?” Scootaloo asked, worrying about her idol. “Yes, it’s concerning that Rainbow ran across the country to deliver a heart,” Vice-Principal Luna pointed out. “She did!?” Everyone turned to see Rainbow's parents, Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles, standing there. “Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles?” Fluttershy said when she saw them. “What're you doing here?” Raph asked. “Rainbow never arrived home when she was supposed to and never got back to us. We got a call from someone telling us to come here to find out about Rainbow,” Windy explained. “So, where is Rainbow? What's going on?” The group explained how they were assigned to shut down the Ice Fortresses, causing the snow, and how Rainbow delivered a heart to a little girl on the other side of the country. “Okay, so any word on Rainbow Dash?” Bow Hothoof asked with concern. “Sorry, but nothing from her yet? She could be at the hospital for all we know,” Leo answered. “Oh, she's at that hospital, alright.” The gang looked to see Twilight's laptop on by itself, showing an image of a white hat. Then, who would appear on the screen, but Player. "Hey guys, been a while.” “Player, what are you doing here?” Donnie asked. “I'm here to update you on Rainbow's current status.” “Hold on. Who's the little boy on the laptop?” Principal Celestia asked, confused by the situation. “Guys, this is Player. Brilliant hacker and Cyber intelligence for Carmen Sandiego and our ally,” Leo introduced. He then turned to Player and introduced those Player hadn't seen before. “Nice to meet you all.” “So, what's going on with Rainbow?” Windy asked with concern. Player explained the reason for the Ice Fortress and the Princess and the attempts on the lives of the Royal Family of Reinkani. “So Rainbow was delivering a heart to a Princess?” Rarity asked. “And her relative wanted to kill not only the child but her family so he could take the crown?” Principal Celestia asked as well. “And VILE was helping him?” Sunset inquired. “And Rainbow got injured trying to get the heart from them and to the Princess?” Hothoof asked, worrying about his daughter. “That about covers it. Donnie, I’m sending you coordinates to upload into your portal device.” “Thanks Player.” Donnie began to put in the coordinates to his portal device. “Hold on, how come you didn't use it to take the heart directly to her? It would've saved Rainbow so much trouble!” Raph pointed out. “Because the snowstorm was blocking the signal.” Pinkie then turned to the fourth wall with a smug look. “Plus, there wouldn't be a plot.” Vera sped through the snow on her way to the hospital where her sister was. Then, as she began coasting down a hill, she stepped on the brake but didn't slow down. "What?" Vera pumped the pedal multiple times, but the car still didn't slow down or even stop. "What is happening?" She tried the parking brake lever but discovered it didn't work either. "Why can I not stop?!" Suddenly, the screen on her dashboard flickered on, revealing the Mechanic and her fellow operative, The Driver. Both appeared to be in another car that pulled up behind Vera. "I may have tinkered with your car a bit," the Mechanic answered smugly. "Count Bisp sends his regards," the Driver added. Then she floored the gas and rammed into Vera's car, pushing it faster down the hill. Vera saw the road split in two directions at the bottom of the hill, going left and right, but straight ahead was a massive rock wall. Panicked, she tried to steer away but discovered that her steering wheel wouldn't budge. The princess screamed as she was about to be smashed against the wall. Then the scene went black. Rainbow Dash groaned as she woke up. She looked to see she was in a hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown. She had a bandage wrapped around her adamant, a plaster on the side of her head and cheek, and bandages around her feet and ankles. She remembered delivering the heart to the doctors before passing out. “Ah, the delivery girl’s awake.” Rainbow saw Count Dushta Bisp standing at the foot of the bed, smirking at her. “Count Bisp.” “That, little girl, is King Dushta Bisp to you, peasant,” Bisp revealed, much to Rainbow’s surprise. “King?” “Yes,” Bisp revealed. “Princess Saundra Shaah died on the operating table. Queen Unna Shaah died from “heartbreak" over the death of her youngest granddaughter. And her eldest granddaughter, Crown Princess Vera Shaah, has died while driving up here in the slippery snow to see her beloved little sister. Their cousin is now dead, and soon, their Aunt and Uncle will be. “So you’re not King just yet,” Rainbow pointed out. “Oh, I will be in a few more minutes when I get confirmation about their deaths.” “So all this. VILE, Tonta, the Ice Fortresses? It was all a plot to murder your aunt and both cousins twice removed?” Rainbow didn’t know how cousin relations went. “First off, it’s cousin once removed,” Bisp corrected her. “But yes. Soon, I will be the only one left, leaving me the right to rule. And before you point out to the camera, I've had VILE remotely turn them off.” “Won’t people still be suspicious about the circumstances of their deaths?” Rainbow pointed out. “So maybe some would be. But it won’t matter. They'll never prove it. I'm untouchable.” “We'll see about that!” Rainbow tries to get up but grunts as she feels the pain from her injuries. “Now, now, little girl, you'll pull your stitches. Besides, who are you mad at? She died on the table.” “Even so, it must pain you that you owe favours to VILE and Tonta for nothing,” Rainbow pointed out. "How did you even get VILE to agree to help you? Carmen said they were supposed to be invisible to the world. “I have a distant relative in VILE's ranks. And as for owing them favours, I'm not at all upset. They still helped with getting rid of Queen Unna and Princess Vera. As for the Ice Fortresses, we couldn’t have known those were unnecessary.” “So why are you telling me all this?” Rainbow asked. “You’re going to die soon anyway, so I might as well tell you,” Bisp revealed as he removed the sword from his cane. But just then, the TV behind Bisp turned on itself, showing footage of their conversation. “I don't think I need to say anything myself now. People have already seen this and now know your true colours.” Bisp was angry, but then he got a message on his phone. And he was then delighted. “It doesn't matter. The Princess's aunt and uncle are dead; I’m the king now. I can pardon myself,” Bisp boasted. “But now killing you is pointless. So consider yourself lucky. It is better to let you live with the guilt.” Bisp turned to leave the room, but Rainbow stopped him. “I just want to say one last thing.” “And what is it? That I may have won for now, but you'll be back? Or any other cliché speech?” “No, I just wanted to say... Got ya!” Rainbow pulls the curtain next to her, revealing the young girl in the hospital bed, Princess Saundra Shaah, and her grandmother, Unna Shaah. Carmen and Shadowsan were with them, along with two bodyguards. The Queen and Princess both had scowls on their faces. “I believe you know Princess Saundra and Queen Unna.” “No, impossible! You're both meant to be dead!” Bisp was frightened and confused. “We managed to protect both the Princess and Queen from you and VILE,” Shadowsan explained. “And those messages you got about Queen Unna, Princess Vera and the other Royal family members’ deaths, all fake, courtesy of a good friend. Just then, Yod Nyaa appeared at the door, still alive and well. “She's right. My cousin and parents are still alive and well despite your best efforts.” Carmen held the phone, which replayed everything Bisp had said. The Queen looked at him with feelings of anger, disappointment, and betrayal. “Dushta, I knew you were ambitious and treacherous. But never could I have imagined that you would pull such an act so evil!” “My Queen, Auntie!” Bisp tried to plea, but it was in vain. “Count Dushta Bisp, as Queen of Reinkani, I hereby accuse you of high treason against the crown and thus revoke your diplomatic status. Also, as a result, I banish you from our country!” Bisp was very angry at what had happened. Everything he had planned had fallen apart, so he drew his cane sword in a last-ditch effort for revenge. “NO!” Bisp rushes towards the queen and princess, but Rainbow grabs an IV bag stand and uses it to whack the sword out of Bisp’s hand. Carmen, Yod, and Shadowsan restrained him before handing him to the security guards. “Get this ex-royal jerk out of here,” Rainbow ordered, which the guards didn’t need to be asked twice. “Enjoy this victory for now because it won’t last.” The guards restrained the former Count out of the room. Yod leaned down, grabbed the sword, and put it back in the cane. "Are you two alright?" Rainbow asked the Queen and Princess. “Yes, we both are,” Queen Unna said on behalf of herself and her granddaughter. “Thank you, all of you, for saving us,” Princess Saundra said, thanking the four who had saved them. “You are welcome, your majesties,” Shadowsan said as he bowed respectfully. “But, Vera,” Queen Unna said, worrying about her eldest granddaughter, but Carmen reassured her. “Don’t worry, Your Majesty; my crew has protected your granddaughter and will be here soon.” “And as for my parents back home, they are all right as well,” Yod revealed. “Thank goodness,” Queen Unna said in relief. The princess then turned to Rainbow. “But how did you know Dushta would confess?” “Well, when I heard you were alive and in recovery, I knew Bisp would try on your life again. I also figured the only way to bust Count Heartless was to trick him into confessing. So I had the doctors pretend that the operation was a failure and that Saundra died on the operating table, knowing he wouldn't be able to resist gloating about it, like how Daring Do baited the evil Barron of… “… the evil Barron of Manerhorn into blabbing his crimes to the authorities.” The gang were shocked when Princess Saundra finished what Rainbow was saying. “I like Darin Do as well.” “Awesome.” "And now he's lost diplomatic immunity," Carmen pointed out. Rainbow then felt pain in her side as she lost her balance. Luckily, Yod was quick enough to catch her. “I got you.” Yod helped Rainbow to her bed and lay her down. “Thanks.” “You’re welcome. I never got to introduce myself properly.” Yod took off the mask around his mouth and his goggles. It revealed a young man, around a year older than Rainbow, with brown skin and brown eyes, with a scar on his left eyebrow. “I am Yod Nyaa, Grandson of Queen Unna and future Guardian of Reinkani. Rainbow was in awe when she saw Yod’s face, as she was instantly smitten. "Nice to meet you; I'm Dainbow Rash, uh, I mean Rainbow Crash, no, no, I'm Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash." Rainbow could have been more composed around the young warrior. "Nice to officially meet you, too." The others couldn't help but be amused by Rainbow's failure blabbing. Even the Queen was amused and slightly delighted that her grandson had an admirer. > Hospital Visits > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Outside the Seattle hospital, a portal opened, and out came the Turtles, Allies, Rainbooms, CMC, Principal Celestia, Vice-Principal Luna and Rainbow Dash's parents. "This is the place?" Sunset asked. "Yes, this is the hospital Rainbow delivered the heart to," Donnie confirmed. "Okay, I'll talk with the receptionist, but I doubt they'll allow all of us to go in at once," Principal Celestia inquired. "Don't worry about that; I can get you in." The gang turned to see Carmen and Shadowsan standing by the wall, waiting for them. "Carmen!" the ninjas approached her, happy to see an old friend. "Hey guys, it's been a while," Carmen said as she shook Leo's hand. "Glad to see you as well," Leo replied. He then bowed to Shadowsan, who returned the favour. "Good to see allies again." "And I see there are some new faces." Carmen noticed new faces she hadn't seen before. "Right, first off, these are Buffy, Carter and his sister Angel, Chaplin, Cailyn and her brother Zach," Leo introduced. "Your name is Zach as well; what a coincidence. My teammate is named Zack as well." "And these are Rarity's and my sisters and their friend. Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo," Applejack introduced. "Howdy..." "We're the CMC..." "A.K.A..." "The Canterlot Movie Club!" Carmen couldn't help but chuckle at the kid's introduction. Sunset continued introductions. “And this is Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna of Canterlot High School," Twilight introduced. “Pleasure to meet you,” Principal Celestia greeted. “Nice to meet nice Principals, unlike four of my last ones,” Carmen humoured, thinking about the faculty. "Well, they must've not been acceptable," Principal Luna inquired. "And these are Rainbow's parents, Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles," Fluttershy introduced. "Nice to meet you, dear, but I need to ask right now, how's Rainbow?" Windy Whistles asked. "Don't worry, she's doing fine right now. I'll take you to her." Carmen led the group inside the hospital. The turtles activated their disguise cloaks to blend in, and Spike hid in Twilight's bag. Carmen led them to a hospital room, where they saw Rainbow on the bed resting. “Rainbow!” “Guys!” Everyone came in and hugged her gently, relieved to see her alive. The turtles dropped their disguises as Carmen reassured them they were alright to do so. “Thank goodness you’re okay.” Rarity hugged her. “We were worried when you didn’t answer our calls,” Fluttershy said while hugging her. “Well, I’ve been hurt here and there, but I’m alright.” Rainbow’s parents went to hug her. “We’re just glad that you’re alright,” Bow Hothoof said as the couple let go. “Thanks, mom and dad.” “It’s nice that many friends and family support you.” Everyone turned to see Yod standing in the corner. The group was concerned about the stranger in their friend’s room, but Rainbow reassured them. “It’s okay, guys; he’s cool.” The others trusted Rainbow and were relieved. “Greetings, I am Yod Nyaa. Grandson of Queen Unna and future Guardian of the country of Reinkani.” The others introduced themselves. Sunset then realised. “Hold on, if you’re grandma’s the Queen…” … then that makes you…” Rarity realised. “A prince? Indeed,” Yod finished. “But I see myself more as a warrior, a fighter.” “He’s very skilled. Saved my butt from VILE twice.” Rainbow looked at him with adoration. “So, what exactly happened?” Principal Celestia asked. Rainbow explained how she ran across the country to deliver the heart and encountered Spinkick and Flytrap. “They seriously called themselves that?” Raph asked. “I know, names are kinda on the nose,” Carmen inquired. “You know what I would call them? Roundhouse and bola-trapper.” "Anyway, out of nowhere, they were attacked by some bird," Rainbow Continued. She told them about her encounter with Coach Brunt. The group were shocked that Brunt herself would come out to deal with Rainbow. And Applejack was surprised that Brunt hadn’t forgotten about her. Rainbow then told them about Paperstar. “Hold on, she used paper as a weapon?” Buffy asked. “Yeah, paper that can cut things like steel,” Pinkie pointed out, still remembering her first encounter with her. "That's when I first met Yod. The Bird that was following me was his." Rainbow turned to Yod. "What did you call it again?" "His name is Aaserak, and he's a Lagger Falcon. When I was told about the heart, I had him follow you to ensure the heart got here safely." Rainbow then told them about the fight with VILE in the parking lot, where she first saw Bisp. How he cut her side and how she escaped. And how she managed to trick Bisp into confessing his crimes. “And that’s brings us to now.” “Wow, all this was to get Bisp on the throne?” Twilight asked. “And if he did, VILE would have the whole country’s resources at their disposal,” Shadowsan gravely pointed out. "Not only that, the country would've suffered due to losing so much riches to them," Carmen pointed out. “Wow, no wonder VILE was involved,” Leo said. “I’m afraid it’s more than that for one of them.” Everyone turned to Yod. “The one you know as Dr Bellum.” “Dr Saira Bellum?” Rainbow asked. “But she went by a different name once. Samira,” Yod revealed. “How do you know that?” Donnie asked. “And why was she more involved in this?” Karai asked, as she and April still remembered how Bellum nearly experimented on them. “Because… she’s my cousin.” The gang were surprised by this revelation. “YOUR COUSIN!?” “Yes, but she left us long before I was born.” “Due to her almost destroying the half of Reinkani?” Shadowsan asked, knowing the story from his time with the VILE Faculty. “Yes. Around twenty-five years ago, when Samira was 14, she came to Reinkani from India with two of her uncles, one of them being my father, after her other uncle got a job there. She shared some of her scientific genius with our country. A few years passed, and she became one of the top scientists of Reinkani, but she became too ambitious, and her experiments became dangerous and inhumane. Father tried to get her to stop, but she refused to listen. Then, one day, her invention went out of control, nearly destroying half of our country. One of the assistants managed to shut it down, but it cost him his legs in the process. After that, Samira lost all her credibility; she went mad, although some say she was already mad to begin with. Father tried to reason with her, but she wouldn’t listen. She was banished from the country forever. The group were shocked by this revelation. “I remember hearing about it from Dr Bellum during my time on VILE's faculty," Shadowsan remembered. "No doubt helping Bisp was also about her getting revenge," Carmen pointed out. “But now their plan has failed. The Queen and Princess are safe,” Rainbow reminded them. “And we thank you for that.” The group turned to see the Princess in the hospital bed, with the Queen beside her. “Okay, how did we not notice them when we walked in?” Raph whispered, which earned him an elbow to the gut by Applejack. “Allow me to introduce My grandmother, Queen Unna Shaah and my cousin, Princess Saundra Shaah of Reinkani,” Yod introduced. “Greetings,” Queen Unna said to them. The others immediately bowed to the Royals they had just realised were in the room. “Greetings, Your Majesty. We are honoured to be in your presence,” Leo started as he bowed. “You can skip the formality. Right now, I’m just a simple loving grandmother here for her granddaughter.” The gang introduced themselves to the Royal Family. "I must say, I was not expecting giant turtles, but if you're with Rainbow Dash, then you're all right with us," Saundra said. “So, Reki, Reenka, Rinko?” Mikey tried to say. "How do you pronounce it?" “Ren-Kahn-nee,” Princess Saundra clarified. “Right. I’ve never heard of that place,” Mikey admitted, and some of the group agreed. Carmen knew how to help with that. “Player.” On the hospital screen, Player appeared. “Thought you’d never ask.” Player began to look up the information, doing his usual geography and country history facts. “The country of Reinkani is an island nation just a few miles east of eastern India, in the middle of the Indian Ocean. It was first settled there in the early 20th century before World War I. But it wasn’t just Indians who settled there; it was also those of both Spanish and African nationality. It became an official individual country in 1948, after the Partition of India, when more Indians secretly fled there and settled there as well. The country is also rich in a special gemstone that isn’t well known to outsiders, not even me. The country has five small villages, plus its main capital, Pohizi, where the royal family lives. There's also the country’s tallest mountain, Mount Veehulu, where people climb to watch its lovely sunsets.” “Perfect, young one,” Queen Unna complimented Player on his knowledge of her country. Just then, they heard footsteps coming. They looked to see Crowned Princess Vera Shaah entering the room in one piece. “Saundra, Grandmother.” “Vera!” Saundra said as the girl, Vera, walked past the others, approached the Princess, and hugged her. “Thank goodness you both are alright,” Vera said as she let go and hugged her grandmother. “As are you,” Unna said as she hugged them. “I am, thanks to these brave people.” Casey, Gabby, Zack, and Ivy came in as well. “Casey, Gabby!” The others were relieved to see their friends “Hola, guys,” Gabby said as Buffy hugged her. “S’up, dudes,” Casey casually said. “Glad to see you both alright,” Raph said as he and Casey locked hands “Zack, so good to see you again, brah,” Mikey greeted the red-haired brother. “Good to see you as well, Mikey,” Zack replied as the two fist-bumped. This got Zach’s attention. “You're Zack, right?” “Yeah, why?” “My name’s Zach as well.” “Cool.” The two fist-bumped. Ivy and Caitlyn rolled their eyes at their baby brother's playfulness, then looked at each other. "You got one too?" Ivy asked. "Oh yeah," Cailyn admitted. Vera then turned to see the others, particularly the Rainbooms. “Hold on, you’re the Rainbooms, the famous American High School band,” Vera inquired. “Uh, yep, that’s us,” Twilight confirmed. “A Princess actually knows us,” Rarity said, feeling honoured. To say Vera was shocked was an understatement. “Play it cool, Vera. Keep it regal,” Vera tried to calm herself, only to jump excitedly. “Oh my goodness, I’m meeting the famous Rainbooms in real life. I’m a real fan of your music." The Rainbooms were honoured and weirded out that a Princess was excitedly about meeting them. Queen Unna smiled as she rolled her eyes. Saundra decided to change the subject. "So, what happened? How did you survive?" "You see..." After the message, Vera was heading straight into the wall, but coming from behind them was another car, a red car. Out from the side of the red car's window, a bunch of hockey pucks with explosives attached to them flew out in front of the Driver and Mechanic's car. "Aaahh." The both of them were blinded by the blasts and skidded out of the way. Then, the red car drove in front of the Princess and blocked the vehicle, which caused the Princess' car to slow down to a stop. Vera got out and fell to the ground. She then saw Zack, Ivy, Casey, and Gabby. "Are you alright, Your Majesty?" Zack asked as she helped her up. "The proper term is Your Highness," Ivy whispered to her brother. "Don't be nervous, Your Highness; we're working with your cousin, Yod Nyaa." That made Vera calm down a bit. The gang then heard the Driver and the Mechanic getting out dazed. Casey and Gabby knew what needed to be done. "Por favour, allow us." Gabby walked up to the Driver, who was getting her bearings. "As someone who comes from a family of street racers..." Gabby then gave the driver a right hook to the face, knocking her out. "Your driving needs some desarrollo." "You little Barney Rubble," The Mechanic said as she got out her wrench. "You love, are going..." But then she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and was electrocuted, courtesy of Casey. "Knock you out, love," Casey said, mocking her accent. Casey and Gabby then fist-bumped. "After Casey and Gabby knocked those two out, Zack drove us here." Unna turned to the four and smiled. “Thank you for saving my granddaughter,” Unna said to them. “Uh, you’re welcome, Your Highness,” Zack said, then Ivy's elbow hit him in the gut as he got the title wrong again. “I mean, your majesty.” Unna rolled her eyes in amusement. She then turned to Shadowsan. “And I never got to properly thank you for saving me.” “I am honoured to be at your service, Your Majesty.” Shadowsan bowed. “How’d you save the Queen, Shadowsan,” Mikey asked. The Queen thought back to a few hours ago… Queen Unna was sitting in a room outside, staring at the room her granddaughter was in. A nurse wearing a surgeon's mask and hat. She was distraught because the heart still hadn’t arrived. She was currently praying. “Please let that heart get here soon for Saundra. I already lost my son, Kanu, and daughter-in-law, Uvel, years ago. And I lost my husband, Bhalo, last year. I can’t bear to lose another loved one.” Just then, a nursemaid approached her and offered a teacup filled with tea. “Here, miss. This should help calm the nerves.” “Thank you.” The Queen took the cup as the nurse left, who smirked evilly. But before the Queen could take a sip, a swift hand swiped the cup from her. “Hey!” Unna looked up to see the nurse hanging a few feet from her. “What is the meaning of this?! That's my tea!” "Observe," the nurse replied, pouring the tea into a nearby plant. Almost instantly, the plant shrivelled up and died. Unna gasped in shock. The nurse pulled down his mask, revealing himself as Shadowsan. "Your tea was laced with a fatal toxin intended to kill you." "What? But how? Why? Who are you?" Unna asked in surprise. "A friend, here to protect you and your granddaughters," Shadowsan explained. "By request of your grandson, Yod Nyaa." Just then, the nurse who had given the tea showed up. The nurse was none other than VILE Operative... Lady Dokuso. “You’ll have to do better than that, Lady Dokuso.” Shadowsan was prepared to defend. Instead of fighting, Lady Dokuso ran around the corner. Shadowsan ran after her, but she was gone when he turned the corner. “I still don’t understand why she didn’t try to attack me?” Unna wondered. “Because we were in a private area. Attacking you there would draw unwanted attention, and they prefer hiding in plain sight.” "But wait, what about Uncle Deepack and Aunt Chaara?" Vera asked in concern. "Don't worry, mom and dad are all right. I even called in a favour from a friend to help protect them," Yod revealed. Just then, they heard a beeping sound. "Speak of the devil." Yod pulled out a phone, which was the source, and answered it. "Thanks again for the help." "It was no trouble," the voice on the other side said. But it wasn't just any voice. It was the voice of... Kim Possible. "KIM!?!" the ninjas said as they heard their friend. "Hey guys, how is it?" Kim said on the other side. "You were helping Yod?" Rainbow asked. "We worked together a few months ago to stop the one you call Monkey Fist from stealing a sacred relic of our country," Yod explained. "Yod asked me to help guard his parents when he got wind of Bisp's plan." "Thanks again for the help." "No problem, bye, guys." Yod then hung up the phone. "So, how did you get wind of Bisp's plan?" Donnie asked. "I once used to look up to Dushta, but when I began my training, I saw him from a different perspective. One day, I overheard him talking VILE about 'the plan'." "That's when we came in," Carme continued. "Player intercepted VILE chatter about a plan involving the country of Reinkani. When we got there, we met Yod, who told us about Dushta." "Grandmother, Vera and Saundra had already left the country for Saundra's surgery. That's when we realised what they were trying to do," Yod explained further. "We even told Yod to contact Chief to help. Because Chief and I aren't on good terms at the moment," Carmen admitted. "How come?" April asked. "Let's just say I learned some things about her. Then I stole some top secret files from ACME," “Heads up, Red,” Player said from the monitor as he typed on the keyboard. “ACME’s in the house.” “Sorry guys, got to go.” Carmen, Shadowsan, Zack and Ivy made their way out of the room. Just then, Agent Zari came into the room. "Ah, so you've arrived,” Zari said as she saw them. “Agent Zari,” Sunset greeted her. “I take it both ends of the mission were successful?” “Yes, the Ice Fortresses were destroyed, and the Princess’s heart was delivered,” Leo informed her. “So you know about the Princess?” “Yeah, the doctors told me when I came in. Along with Dushta Bisp trying to stop me,” Rainbow revealed. “It’s a good thing we got that video of Bisp’s confession.” To their surprise, the gang turned to see ACME's Chief... live and in person. "What?" "No way?" "Is she...?" "Yes, I am," Chief confirmed. Everyone was surprised to see the real thing, not the hologram. Mikey then approached Chief. "Wow, that hologram looks so real..." Mikey tries to poke Chief, only for her to grab his finger to stop. "That's because I am real." Chief released Mikey, and he hurried back to the others. "Sorry," Mikey sheepishly apologised while Raph hit Mikey on the head. Principal Celestia then took a good look at Chief and recognised her. "Tamera?" Principal Celestia asked. "Celestia and Luna, long time no see," Chief, or Tamera, said as she shook Celestia's hand. "Wait, you two know each other?" Pinkie asked. "We went to college together," Chief told them. "Okay, we're getting off track here. Did you know about Dushta Bisp?" Raph asked impatiently. "Yes, we did. Two days ago, Yod Nyaa cornered me in my usual coffee shop," Chief explained. "Yod told me about the Princess and Count Bisp. Bisp caught our attention a few years ago when he was caught buying illegal arms, only to be released on diplomatic immunity. "He tried to tell me he was doing it for our country, but I warned him on going behind my back. Now I realise he was using them to overthrow us," Queen Unna said with realisation. "Afterwards, we used some of ACME's resources to help protect the Royal Family. Of course, we weren't counting on the Ice Fortresses." Chief then turned to Rainbow Dash and the others. "I apologise for not telling you, but the Royal Family's information was classified. But even so, well done on saving the Princess and exposing Bisp." "He won't be using diplomatic immunity anytime soon," Rainbow boasted. "I spoke to the doctor about Rainbow Dash's condition. You have a not-so-deep cut on your side from Bisp's sword, which thankfully didn't cut any organs and a few scrapes from the fight. You also have bruising on your ankles and soles, resulting from both the boots we supplied and the long distance. But you’ll be able to be transferred back to Canterlot City.” “Ah, yes,” Rainbow said, happy to be out of here. But then she felt pain in her side. “Ow.” “Honey, take it easy,” Windy Whistles said in worry. Leo then approached Rainbow. “I got you, Rainbow.” Leo then held his hands together. “Rin, Pyo, Toh, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai, zen.” Leo kept chanting as his hands glowed as he pressed them on Rainbow. Leo then finished. "Thanks, Leo," Rainbow said, feeling a bit better. The Royal family just stood there in awe at what they saw. "You used the Healing Hand technique," Vera said as she saw it. "You know about it?" Leo asked. "We knew someone who mastered it as well," Vera revealed. "So you were taught it?" "Yes, by our father. Master Splinter, Hamato Yoshi." Yod silently gasped as he heard the word ‘Hamato’. "As in, the Hamato Clan?" Yod asked. "But the Clan was destroyed years ago." "Well, our sensei survived, and now I'm the head of the clan," Leo told them. Yod was surprised about this information, but Agent Zari approached Queen Unna before he could say anything. "Your Majesty, I just spoke with the doctors; they wish to take Princess Saundra for more tests," Zari informed her. "And they wish to move Rainbow Dash into a different room to ready her for transport. The gang then started to say goodbye to the Royal Family. But Leo had one request for them. "Your majesty, I know we only just met each other. But, I humbly request that you and your family keep me and my brother's existence a secret," Leo requested as he bowed. "Very well, young man. Consider this a Royal secret." Queen Unna then turned to Rainbow. "Rainbow Dash, for your services to the Royal Family, Reinkani is humbly in your debt." "Uh, my pleasure, your Majesty," Rainbow replied nervously. Yod then approached Rainbow. "So, I guess this is it." "For now, at least," Yod replied. "But I'm sure we'll meet again one day." > Party Time > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two days after Rainbow was cleared and returned to Canterlot City, the gang threw Rainbow a late birthday party, organised by Pinkie of course. It took place in the Canterlot High Gymnasium, not only the ninjas and Rainbooms were there, but also the Wondercolts, Mighty Mutanimals and Shadowbolts, along with Principal Celestia and VP Luna supervising. Even Carmen and her crew showed up. They wanted to check in after making sure it was safe from ACME. The Party was in full swing. Leo, Twilight, and Karai were talking to Carmen about her recent events. "So your father was VILE Faculty?" Twilight asked. "And was shot by law enforcement?" Karai asked. "Which the Shadowsan brought you to VILE Island?" Twilight finished. "Yep, that's about it,” Carmen confirmed. However, she left out an important detail of that story. “We’re so sorry to hear that Carmen,” Leo apologised to the thief. “Thanks, but now I know I have a mother out there somewhere.” “You’ll find her, Carm. One day,” Karai encouraged. “Thanks guys.” Carmen was glad to have friends like them. Meanwhile, Shadowsan was telling the CMC about his brother, Hideo. “So by separating the Daisho, I separated the two of us, for good.” The CMC were shocked to hear about the man’s relationship with his brother. “But you returned the sword, shouldn’t that have helped?” Sweetie Belle asked. “It’s rarely that simple,” Shadowsan explained. “We know how you originally felt,” Scootaloo said. The girls told him about the Anon-A-Miss incident, which got them a month of detention, becoming outcasts, and not being allowed to go to Camp Everfree. “I see I wasn’t the only one who made an unfortunate error. You’re just lucky you were able to make up with your older siblings. “I’m sure you’ll get a chance to make things right with your brother,” Applebloom said with hope for the ninja. Shadowsan couldn’t help but smile at their thoughtfulness. “Thank you, young ones.” On the dance, Mikey was tearing it up. He looked over to see Mondo Gecko dancing with Lyla Heartstrings. He then realised something. “Hey, where's BonBon? You two are usually joint to the hip,” Mikey pointed out, as there was no sign of her anywhere. “BonBon caught a cold from the snow we had. She's home resting,” Lyla pointed out. “I wanted to skip the party and help her, but she insisted I go.” “Bummer, yo,” Mikey said, feeling bad about BonBon. In BonBon's bedroom, the girl was lying in her bed, feeling worse for wear. “ACHOO!” Just then the pen on her bedside table began to beep. She picked it up, pressed it and dropped it on the floor. Chief's holographic form appeared. “Agent Sweetie Drops, re- whoa,” Chief was surprised to see BonBon, or Sweetie Drops, current condition. “Agent Sweetie Drops... reporting,” Sweetie Drops weakly said, followed by another sneeze. “Right, any contact to the Rainbooms by Carmen Sandiego?” Chief asked, getting back to the point. “No contact so far Chief.” “Anyway, just focus on getting better right now,” Chief ordered the young agent, before putting a smirk on her face, “Wouldn't want Miss Heartstrings to see you like this.” After which, Chief disconnected, leaving a sick Sweetie Drops flustered. Back at the party, the Ninjas and Rainbooms gathered together, getting ready for an important part of the schedule. “We all ready?” April asked. “Yep, we're all set,” Pinkie confirmed. “Actually, we're missing something important,” Raph pointed out. “Like what?” Pinkie asked. “How about... the Birthday girl?” The others realised Raph was right, Rainbow was nowhere to be seen. “Where's Rainbow?” Donnie asked. “Oh, I saw her walk outside a few minutes ago,” Zack pointed out as he munched on some party food, to Ivy's displeasure. Rainbow stood outside leaning against the Canterlot High statue, thinking about the events that just happened. She had mostly recovered, but she had crutches as she couldn’t walk properly. The others approached her. “S’up Rainbow, you’re missing your party,” Mikey said to Rainbow. “What? Oh yeah, I just needed some air,” Rainbow said, trying to not look distant, but she wasn’t fooling anyone. “You okay, Rainbow?” Applejack asked in concern. “I was just, I was just thinking about what happened recently,” Rainbow admitted. “I can’t believe VILE would target such a nice-looking family.” “VILE wouldn’t care about a nice-looking family. They just saw them as an obstacle to more riches, and they certainly wouldn't care if the country suffered,” Carmen explained. “But the point is, Bisp’s in jail and VILE has nothing,” Twilight inquired. “Thanks to you, Rainbow,” Keno pointed out. “You not only saved the girl, but you saved an entire country. Major Kudos.” “Thanks. But still, when my birthday started a few days ago, I thought everything was going great. Then Bisp and VILE nearly ruined everything, not for me, but for the Reinkani Royal Family. But near the end, after what I saw I realised something. The greatest gift someone like me could get... was watching that little girl smile.” Rainbow had a smile on her face. Everyone was surprised to hear how humble she sounded. “It's a good feeling, isn’t it,” Carmen asked, putting her hand on Rainbow's shoulder. Just then Principal Celestia and VP Luna showed up. “What you did was amazing Rainbow,” Principal Celestia said. “Things may not have worked the way you wanted, but seeing that child smile can bring a great feeling.” “When we took to teaching, we wanted to help nurture and guide students every day to be the best they can be. And the moment you girls came together and did many things, even with the turtles, we couldn't be more proud of the people you became,” VP Luna said, feeling proud of their latest accomplishment. Principal Celestia placed a hand on Rainbow's shoulder, “And we still are.” Rainbow and the girls couldn't help but smile at that, even Rainbow felt proud of today. “Now then, I believe we have a party to return to?” Carmen said. Pinkie got excited, “Yay, time to continue Rainbow Dash's birthday and Saving a Country Party!!!” Everyone then returned to celebrate Rainbow's birthday further. Inside the Gymnasium, Pinkie was on the stage, with the Rock N Beats playing their instruments, Mikey and Pinkie were on the stage making the announcement. “Alright everybody, we’re here to celebrate…!” Pinkie continued, “…the latent Birthday of our good friend…” “RAINBOW DASH!” Rainbow appeared in front of them. “Hey everybody, who’s ready to get their party on, hit it!” The Rock N Beats played as Pinkie sang a song while the others celebrated. (Make a Wish) The crowd cheered at the song and continued to celebrate. Things began to settle down a bit. “Great birthday party,” Rainbow said, feeling grateful. “You’ve earned it, Rainbow, for what you did,” Leo clarified. As the gang were discussing, Fluttershy's geode activated. “What's that, you're looking for Rainbow?” Fluttershy asked as if she was talking to someone. Just then a Lagger Falcon, Yod's falcon, Aaserak, flew in through the window and landed on the table. The bird had a box in his talon. “That's Yod's falcon, Aaserak,” Rainbow pointed out, remembering the falcon. “He says he has something for Rainbow from Yod and the Shaah Royal Family,” Fluttershy translated. Rainbow took the box from Aaserak. The bird bowed and then flew away, most likely back to his master in Reinkani. Rainbow opened the box and pulled out a golden medal, along with two notes. Rainbow Dash opened the first note. “Dear Rainbow Dash, for your service to our country, I hear by award you with the Medal of Honour. Let it serve you and others as a reminder of the service you made to the Country of Reinkani and its Royal Family. Signed, Queen Unna Shaah, Queen of Reinkani.” The others were surprised at first, but then they cheered at Rainbow's success. “Awesome,” Rainbow said as she put the medal around her neck. She then noticed the second note. “Dear Rainbow Dash, I humbly thank you for helping save my family from Dushta. If you ever need a favour, don't be afraid to call me personally. I would love to be of assistance. Yours sincerely, Yod Nyaa.” Rainbow then noticed a phone number at the bottom of the bottom of the letter. Rainbow couldn’t help but blush. “Well what do you know, a boy gave you his number,” Mikey teased. “Well, he is a handsome young man,” Rarity said with a smirk. “Guys,” Rainbow said, feeling embarrassed. “Well you weren't exactly subtle when Yod first introduced himself.” Carmen then pulled out her phone and showed footage from the hospital. “I never got the chance to properly introduce myself. I am Yod Nyaa.” “Nice to meet you, I'm Dainbow Rash, uh, I mean Rainbow Crash, no, no, I'm Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash.’ “Nice to officially meet you.” Rainbow was blushing like crazy while the others laughed and cooed. “Oooh, someone has a crush,” Rarity teased. “Carmen!” Rainbow went to touch her geode to use her speed but remembered that her parents confiscated it as she was still healing and using it would make things worse. Instead, she crutched over as fast as she could to try and take the phone. “Get back here!” The gang laughed to Rainbow’s dismay as the athlete tried to get the phone from the super thief. Despite this, it was a great Birthday Party. > Music video bonus (Late Christmas gift) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few days after the party, the Rainbooms gathered around in Rarity’s house as Rarity was typing on her laptop to show the girls something. “Thank you all for coming to see this music video that Amethyst and I created,” Rarity said to them. “No problem, Rarity,” Twilight said. “So what exactly is this video again?” Applejack wondered. “It's a music video for the next Christmas pageant,” Rarity explained. “Umm, isn't it too early to do Christmas stuff?” Rainbow asked. “Or late from last Christmas?” Pinkie pointed out. “Well, the snow from last week gave us the perfect opportunity to do it. Plus, it's always good to get things done when you can,” Rarity explained. Spike inquired, “She makes a very good point, girls.” “Anyway, here it is.” Rarity pressed play on the laptop. On a snowy day on Christmas Eve at Canterlot City, some kids were building snowmen around the neighbourhood. Vinyl then started playing music from her turn table while Rarity and Amethyst were ready to sing with the CMC playing in the snow outside of their treehouse and Twilight remote-controlled the drone to record footage with the camera on her phone for the music video. [Rarity] There are presents underneath the family tree All the streets are filled with shining lights There's a party going down this Christmas Eve And DJ Santa's sliding it all night Vinyl pressed a sound button that sounded like Santa Claus. “Ho, ho, ho.” [Rarity and Amethyst Majesty] You need to make a list You need to check it twice We're about to find out [Amethyst Majesty] Who's naughty, who's nice [Rarity and Amethyst Majesty] You need to spread cheer [Rarity] We're getting jolly over here [Rarity and Amethyst Majesty] 'Til the icicles melt [Amethyst Majesty] We run deep like the elves [Rarity] You wanna have fun Like I know you can You wanna be cool Like the icy man “Ho, ho, ho.” [Amethyst Majesty] And when we're done with shopping [Rarity and Amethyst Majesty] And filling up the stockings We'll be chillin', chillin', oh Chillin' like a snowman [Rarity] Chillin' [Rarity and Amethyst Majesty] Chillin' (CMC: Hey!) like a snowman [Rarity] Chillin' [Rarity and Amethyst Majesty] Chillin' like a snowman [CMC] (Hey) [Rarity and Amethyst Majesty] Chillin' like Chillin' like [CMC] (Hey) [Rarity and Amethyst Majesty] Chillin' like The two arrived at the CMC’s treehouse where the CMC were having difficulty building a snowman. [Rarity] First step, put the snow in a ball Then stack 'em from big to small [Amethyst Majesty] But you gotta make it five feet tall And if you need help, just give us a call [Rarity] Grab a scarf and an old top hat Watch him coming out just like that Then, the CMC started building their snowman outside of their treehouse house while Rarity and Amethyst watched. The girls clapped as the music video finished, showing that they loved it. “That was great Rarity,” Pinkie complimented. “Yeah, you and Amethyst did well on that song,” Sunset pointed out. “I’m sure you'll win the pageant next Christmas,” Applejack said, confident in her friend. “Aww, thanks guys,” Rarity said, feeling confident in her music video. “Hey girls,” Sweetie Belle called from downstairs. “Come down here, quick!” The Rainbooms ran downstairs and met up with the CMC in the living room. “What's going on?” Twilight asked. “This better be important,” Applejack said, not in the mood for the CMC’s shenanigans. “On the TV, Queen Unna's making an announcement!” Scootaloo explained. “Queen Unna?!” Rainbow Dash said, remembering the elderly queen. “Well what are you waiting for, play it.” The girls and Spike all gathered around on the sofa as Scootaloo pressed play on the remote, listening to the queen’s speech. > Queen's Announcement/Epilouge > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the country of Reinkani, Queen Unna was wearing a yellow and white Saree and yellow flats, along with her nose ring and a red Bindi. She was standing outside the palace, announcing to her people and those watching around the world. “Citizens of Reinkani, the Royal Family has been betrayed by one of our own… my nephew, Dushta Bisp.” “Dushta betrayed us and attempted to take the throne for himself…” Inside a prison in Reikani, Dushta Bisp was watching while getting served his meal. The former count, now draped in prison orange just watched angrily when his food was splatted on him. “A feast for a king,” the prison server mocked as others laughed. Bisp was super angry when he left. His plan failed, he lost his title and was forced into this horrible place. Bisp walked past a patrolling guard and then sat at his table. As he was digging in, he noticed something in his food. It was a piece of paper. He opened it and looked at what the note said. His anger turned into a smirk as he continued to watch his former aunt’s speech. “He made a deal with horrible criminals to seize the throne. But their plan failed….” VILE Faculty including Coach Brunt after her time in the field, were watching the speech on TV, but it was turned off by Dr. Bellum, who then threw the remote in anger. “Aaaarrggghhh!!!! My opportunity at revenge against that Queen and her cursed country had failed! All thanks to Sandiego, those turtles and Rainbooms, and my wretched baby cousin!” Bellum was on a rant that the faculty had never seen before. “Whoa, and I was supposed to be the angry one,” Coach Brunt pointed out. “Doctor Bellum, control yourself,” Professor Maelstrom ordered. After a minute, Bellum seemed to have calmed down. Maelstrom then chose to point out the results. "So Count Bisp's been arrested. And unfortunately, Roundabout is unable to extract him due to him being found guilty of attempted regicide.” “Should we be worried about him talking?” Cleo asked. “Relax Countess, we managed to use the memory wiper on him while he was incarcerated. He has no memory of VILE,” Dr. Bellum said, now feeling calm and proud. “He doesn't even remember me anymore.” “That's good, we don't want any loose ends,” Maelstrom reminded them. “Wouldn't the Reinkani Royal Family be considered a loose end?” Coach Brunt asked. “I'll assign operatives to take care of...” “No. Going after royal blood will draw too much attention to ourselves. Our best option is to remain hidden is to stay as far away from Reinkani as possible,” Maelstrom declared. The other members of VILE Faculty agreed. “Good. I know Coach Brunt was extracted, but what about our other operatives?” Countess Cleo asked. “The Cleaners managed to extract all the other operatives at the Seattle Hospital and everywhere else,” Maelstrom informed them. But then, he had a grim look on his face and said, “But still, Reinkani's resources were right in our grasp.” “All those jewels, those riches and that palace. I hoped we would base there instead of this cold and dreaded castle,” Countess Cleo was very upset about what they lost. “Speaking of cold, the ice fortresses were destroyed,” Bellum said with disdain. “And it wasn't Carmen Sandiego who did it, but those Ninjas and Rainbooms who destroyed them,” Coach Brunt pointed out, still feeling miffed about Rainbow escaping her. “They are definitely a big problem as Carmen Sandiego,” Countess Cleo inquired. “Especially with that magic of theirs.” “You know, I'm finding myself quite interested in studying its capabilities,” Doctor Bellum said with fascination. “Indeed, perhaps we should keep an eye on them,” Professor Maelstrom suggested before having a sinister look on his face. “...and find a way to harness it for our own needs.” The Faculty agreed, gaining an interest in Equestrian Magic. Queen Unna continued her speech in her home country, “...Dushta Bisp tried to sabotage my youngest grandaughter's heart surgery, tried to get my eldest granddaughter, our crowned princess, killed in an accident, and tried to kill me, and the rest of my family, just to seize the throne. Thankfully...” “There were people, heroes who helped stop them and saved us...” Carmen Sandiego and her crew were at their lair in San Diego, watching the speech on Carmen's laptop. Player appeared next to the video. “Look at that Red, someone's acknowledging the good you did recently,” Player pointed out. “Getting thanked by royalty, awesome,” Zack said with excitement. “Yeah. Glad that VILE didn't get to finish off the family. But should we be worried about them trying to off them again?” Carmen said in a concerned tone. “Indeed, VILE doesn’t tolerate loose ends, but VILE wouldn't dare attack someone of high status,” Shadowsan explained. “If anything happens to them, VILE will no doubt be hunted down to the ends of the earth. VILE's only hope is to not step foot in Reinkani again.” “So a country that is aware of VILE, that's a major victory,” Ivy pointed out. Carmen smiled, “I'm just glad the royal family won't have to deal with VILE, especially Dr Bellum for a long time.” The gang continued to watch the speech. “While we are indebted to those that helped up, they wish to be unnamed, and so we respect that decision...” The turtles and their allies were watching on the TV in the lair. “Dudes, we've just been acknowledged by royalty,” Mikey said with excitement. “At least she did it in a way that doesn’t expose us,” Raph pointed out. “Either way, Rainbow Dash did good,” Leo said, feeling proud of his teammate. “My family and I are safe now. Our country may be small, but still strong. Especially since in a matter of months, Vera will be coronated as the new queen.” The queen had ended her speech as a few reporters wanted to ask more questions, but the queen declined. After the speech, Queen Unna walked inside the Palace. Once she was in a specific wing, she took off her shoes, as it was customary in Reinkani to take shoes off when entering a person's home or a sacred chamber. Now barefooted, the Queen made her way down the hall. As she walked, she passed a few portraits that were on the wall. One was of herself younger with a man, her husband—King Bhalo, along with a toddler boy and a baby girl, who were her children. Another was at a wedding with her son, Kanu, marrying her new daughter-in-law, Uvel. Another portrait of her daughter, Chaara marrying her son-in-law, Deepak. She then passed one of Vera and Yod as kids. And one of a young Vera and a baby Saundra with their parents. The last one, just taken last year, passed was one of her, the Princesses and her husband, not long before he passed away. Queen Unna had a sad smile on her face as she looked at them. She then went on to a room where she heard the sound of a flute. Unna peeked inside to see her family. Princess Saundra was lying in a bed, wearing a white nightdress, sipping on a cup of tea. Princess Vera, now wearing a pink dress, sat at her sister's bedside, playing a song on the flute. On the side was Yodd, who ditched his gloves and boots. He was sitting at the side with Aaserak standing on a table next to him. On the side of the bed was Chaara, wearing a purple dress with a white jacket. She was checking out some equipment that was attached to Saundra. Near Chara was a Deepk, wearing a blue shirt, black pants and glasses. Just like the queen, the family were all barefooted as a sign of respect. Princes Vera finished the song after that. “Thank you for playing that song, Vera,” Saundra said, loving the soothing sound. “You're very welcome, sis,” “How're you feeling, sweetheart?” Queen Unna gently approached Saundra and kissed her on her forehead. “I still feel weak grandmother, but a bit better.” “Wonderful to hear,” Unna said as she sat beside her. “Her vitals are improving, mother,” Chaara explained. “She still needs rest for another week. And she'll need to be put on a diet and exercise regime. But if we continue for a while, she will be fine.” “Yes, Auntie,” Saundra said, understanding. She then had a sad look on her face. “I can't believe Dushta would do this.” “Dushta was always distant from this family,” Unna explained. “I should've seen it. But I didn't, and it almost cost us… everything.” Unna then turned to Yod. “Yod, if you hadn't figured out everything…” “I've been suspicious of him for a while. I knew it was only a matter of time before…” Yod pointed out. “I also think Dushta is also responsible for…” The family had sad looks on their faces, as they knew what he was gonna say. “Mom and Dad,” Vera finished, with tears forming in her eyes as she put an arm around Saundra, who had tears in her eyes. “And this time he had help… from Samira,” Deepak said, disappointed in his eyes. Unna then placed a hand on his shoulder, “Samira made her decision, just like Dushta made his. We can't blame ourselves for their choices.” Deepak knew his mother-in-law was right. His niece made her choice, one there was no turning back. “It's a good thing Rainbow Dash managed to get the heart to us and helped expose Dushta,” Yod said, with a bit of a smile. “Yes, Rainbow Dash,” Unna agreed, before having a smirk on her face. “She is a fine young lady.” “Grandmother,” Yod whined a bit, with a blush. “Oh, is my son blushing?” Chaara teased her son. “Mom!” Yod said in embarrassment. “Ooh, didn't you also put down your number when you sent Aaserak to deliver the medal to her?” Vera teased her cousin. “No!” Yod denied. Aaserak cawed and nodded, saying yes. “Aaserak not you too!” The whole family laughed, much to the young warrior’s chagrin. Thankfully for him, they were interrupted. “Pardon my interruption, your majesty.” The family turned to see a man with a suit addressing them. “Hassan, I take it you have my schedule for tomorrow?” Queen Unna asked, knowing her duties as a queen were still important. “Yes, Your Majesty. Tomorrow morning, you got yoga, followed by the meeting with the court, then going over a few items for the coronation, and then your evening royal foot massage…” “How about we discuss them somewhere else,” Queen Unna suggested, before turning to the family. “Saundra needs her rest.” After that, the family each left to room to let the princess rest. Yod was walking through the halls of the palace. He was looking at security footage of the Turtles and Rainbooms on the Ice Platform. “They fought very well together,” Yod thought to himself. “I feel trouble coming to Reinkani. Maybe this is what I need… a team.” “Yod, wait!” Yod turned to see Vera catching up to him. “What is it, Vera?” “I want you to train me.” Yod was instantly confused, “Come again?” “I want you to teach me to fight,” Vera explained. “I was nearly killed. My sister and grandmother were nearly killed. I'm meant to be the queen soon. And how can I protect my people if I couldn’t protect my family?” “Say no more, cuz, I will train you. But I must warn you, it will be hard,” Yod told the Princess. “I'm willing to do what it takes to protect my country,” Vera said with determination. Vera needed to be a great queen for not only her people but her family. Queen Unna entered her private chambers and sat down in an armchair. The Queen was exhausted by what had happened. She then grabbed something on the table stand and looked at it. It was a small photo of her whole family, minus Dushta, wearing casual beach clothes at a lake. They weren’t regal looking, but they looked very happy together. “I wish you were here, Bhalo, Katu, and Uvel.” The queen had tears in her eyes, as she missed her husband, son, and daughter-in-law. “Saundra is doing better. Vera is gonna make an excellent queen soon.” Queen Unna then got up and walked to her bookshelf. She then pulled out a book with a robin on the cover. She sat back down in her chair, put on her reading glasses and began writing in the book. “I've officially met the turtles you told me about, along with their friends and your former student. They are incredible as you said… Princess Celestia.” Yod made his way to a stone wall. He knocked on it twice, which caused the wall to open, revealing a lit tunnel. Yod walked down it until he reached a door at the end. Once that door opened, Yod removed his boots and walked inside. In front of the fireplace was an elderly man, wearing yellow robes, meditating in front of the fire. The man then spoke without opening his eyes, “Young Yod, I must say well done on protecting your family.” “Master, while I was gone, there were some things I learned and some things you must know.” Yod got on his knees next to the man. “What is it, my pupil?” “Master, the Hamato Clan lives.” The man opened his eyes, which revealed he was blind in his left eye. He said nothing as he pulled down his sleeve, to reveal a tattoo… of the Hamato Clan symbol.
