> It’s So Easy When You’re Evil > by Starlight Fan > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1: Discord > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Chaos is a wonderful thing!” Discord smiled as he sipped the glass of his chocolate milk, he had done it. He had actually done it. He was actually able to break up the Elements Of Harmony and destroy their friendship. It was not easy, he would admit it, those six mares were persistent but he had played them all like a fiddle. Twilight was really the only challenge. That mare was so true to her beliefs, one could call her the Princess Of Friendship. Either way, the world was his playground and he ruled supreme. Now there was no normal, he was no longer just different. He was finally at home in Equestria. Oh, how he remembered the day when he first came to this dimension. The citizens had feared him, only viewing him as a monster, no matter how harmless he tried to be with his chaos. Well, if they wanted a monster, they got one. Suddenly, he spotted a familiar face stand before him, oh how he laughed, the former ruler of Equestria was seriously trying to challenge him? This would take no time at all. Discord flew downwards to the alicorn princesses, Celestia before he spoke, “Y’know, I’m feeling rather merciful today. We don’t have to do this stupid fight. Just swear Equestria to me and we can go on our merry ways.” “You could have used your magic for such greater purposes, why only use it to cause misery to others’?” Celestia said furiously. Discord raised an eyebrow, what was going on here? “Ponykind is always so unfair towards differences, I felt they deserved to be taken down a peg.” Discord scoffed before smiling, “Besides, one day, ponies will appreciate the chaos I bring.” “To what? Warp their minds and psychologically torment them?” Celestia asked bitterly, “That’s not chaos, that’s evil.” “Oh come on, chaos can give a lot of fun things too.” Discord waved off Celestia’s concerns, “The thrill of the trials and tribulations we get from chaos is so exciting, is it not?” “As far as I see, there are no challenges anymore. You won the game Discord and there are no rematches this time.” Celestia ranted angrily much to Discord’s shock, did this mean what he thought it meant? “Wait… you’re giving up?” Discord asked with a wide eyed gaze. “Twilight’s clearly never going to recover from what you put her through. She sent me a letter saying how friendship was nothing more than a hopeless dream. The Elements Of Harmony are useless without hope. So congratulations Discord, you have won. I hope you have everything your heart desires.” Celestia sighs solemnly. Discord frowns when he hears this, and from what Celestia could tell, it could be from remorse but it quickly shifts to bitterness, “Oh come on! You’re seriously giving up this easily. I expected more from Princess Celestia but I suppose I was wrong.” Celestia said nothing but flew away, deep in her heart, she still believes friendship could prevail but all she could do was sigh as she observed the hopelessness of the chances of that happening. She did nothing more but fly to Canterlot. Discord didn’t bother pursuing her, but he couldn’t help ponder Celestia’s words. He should feel happy that Celestia had finally surrendered to him but he couldn’t help but miss the thrill of the battle. Celestia was a fierce opponent and he enjoyed their witty banter and Tartarus, even Twilight was fun to toy with. But it seems he would never be able to do that again, because like Celestia said, she and Twilight had both given up on friendship defeating him. Discord sighed before turning to a lilac coated unicorn in a jester’s outfit who was passing by, “Victory doesn’t feel as satisfying as I thought it would be.” “Gee, I feel so sorry for you.” The unicorn spat venomously. Discord rolled his eyes, ever since he met this mare, all she had done was make snarky remarks. It reminded him of Twilight in a way, which is why he kept her around. “Pfft, I’m sure it’ll pass. After all, I have everything I could ever ask for.” Discord laughed nervously, “I have my powers, I have Equestria. Everything is perfect.” “Not for the ponies you’ve been tormenting.” The unicorn rolled her eyes. “Oh shut up before I turn you into a ballerina.” Discord glared at the purple and teal haired unicorn who did nothing except stare blankly. “Whatever.” The mare scoffed before walking off in annoyance. Discord continued to sit in his throne and watch the chaos unravel, it was hilarious seeing how he turned this boring old Equestria into a Chaotic Wonderland. Though now, it didn’t seem as fun as he hoped. Twilight had a blank look as she stood atop the hill overlooking Ponyville. She would often come here from Canterlot and wonder if things could’ve ended differently with her friends. If they could actually salvage their friendship, but seeing this town turn from its former glory to a chaotic wonderland, it was probably doomed from the start. “You doing okay?” Spike asked curiously as he sat by Twilight. “No, I don’t know if I ever will be.” Twilight sighed solemnly. “Still thinking about them?” Spike asked warily. “For some reason, I can’t help but miss them.” Twilight admitted with a weak chuckle, “Kinda stupid right?” “I don’t think it is.” Spike said as he sat by Twilight, “They were your best friends. Missing them would be natural.” “Yeah, what friends they turned out to be? They abandoned me.” Twilight said with a furious gaze. “Maybe Discord had something to do with it?” Spike pondered. “Sure they did.” Twilight rolled her eyes. “I’m serious. They were acting so different from when I saw them. They didn’t act like themselves and I feel you all fell to the pressure of Discord’s antics.” Spike argued. “You really believe that. They probably just didn’t care.” Twilight said angrily but she seemed to gain a more hopeful look from Spike’s words. “Of course I do. Because I know in my heart that friendship isn’t a joke and is worth fighting for. I just wish you could see things the same way.” Spike sighed before walking down the hill, leaving Twilight to ponder his words. Friendship isn’t easy, but it’s worth fighting for. Twilight’s hair suddenly turned from grey to purple at that very moment. > Chapter 2: Queen Chrysalis > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Queen Chrysalis could not be anymore thrilled at how wonderfully her master plan was carried out. Only Twilight Sparkle was suspicious of her antics, but not even she could unmask her true nature and her so-called friends had only driven her away in the end causing her to run away. In all honesty, Chrysalis had to admit that even she couldn’t see the logistics in how her friends’ treated her. Coldly dismissing Twilight instead of trying to be there for her when she was having a mental breakdown. She didn’t even have to perform spells on them for them to abandon her, that was all them. Nonetheless Chrysalis had succeeded in taking over Canterlot with little to no time. Twilight’s friends, Celestia, Shining Armor, and Cadence had all fallen to Chrysalis and they would continue to be her lowly prisoners in the Dungeons Of Canterlot. As she sat at the throne of Canterlot, her head of patrol, Pharynx had arrived at last. “Ah Pharynx. What’s today’s report?” Chrysalis asked with sinister delight. “Canterlot has been subdued flawlessly your majesty. However, our Intel tells us that Princess Luna has escaped before our soldiers could get to her.” Pharynx said neutrally, delivering both good and bad news. Chrysalis growled at the mention of Princess Luna escaping. She was a threat for sure, and if she could somehow save Equestria, everything she worked for would be ruined. “Find a way to capture her then!” Chrysalis replied back furiously, “I will not allow any chance of her ruining my plans!” “Of course my Queen.” Pharynx nodded firmly before flying off. Chrysalis smirked as she sat back in her throne, doing what her mother could only dream of. She finally had done it. She had conquered the kingdom of Equestria and it was all hers’ now. Her mother was wrong after all, she was not weak, in fact, she was the most powerful being in Equestria. The Mane Five, Spike, Celestia, and Shining Armor could not be anymore ashamed than they were right now as they sat in the Canterlot Dungeons. Not only did they fail to protect Canterlot from the threat among them but they had been so wrapped up in their wedding plans that they couldn’t even see that Cadence was Chrysalis the entire time until it was too late. Worst of all, they had driven their dearest friend away from them. “Twilight… oh, how could she forgive any of us for this?” Fluttershy sighed sadly. “No, she’ll come back. Twilight always comes ba-“ Spike began hopefully before Rainbow Dash yelled out, “No! She’s not coming back! We’ve driven her away and now she’s never gonna want to see us again!” Rainbow Dash ranted furiously. “You don’t know Twilight like I do! She cares about the ponies she gets close to Rainbow Dash, even before she met you five.” Spike said sternly. “I have to agree with Spike. If Twilight is the same pony I know she is, she’ll come back.” Applejack nodded proudly. “Even if that were true, how could she even make it here?” Rarity asked curiously which caused the group to lose some hope before Pinkie Pie smiled brightly. “I don’t know, but it’s Twilight. She’ll find a way.” Pinkie Pie shrugged with a smirk. It was barely an explanation but it made too much sense to all of them. Cadence smiled at the ponies and dragon’s beaming hope when she noticed her would be husband looking out sadly in the distance. “Shining…” Cadence asked carefully which caused the stallion to sigh sadly. “This is all my fault.” Shining Armor said miserably. “Shining Armor, you were under the spell of Chrysalis. There was nothing you could’ve done.” Celestia reminded the former captain of the guard. “But I still had some control of my actions. If I had just been more attentive, I could’ve figured her out sooner and…” Shining Armor began before tearing up, “Maybe I wouldn’t have driven Twilight away.” Cadence reached to embrace Shining Armor which he returned with tears pooling out. The only comfort he had was that Twilight was safe from Chrysalis… for now. A hooded unicorn narrowed their eyes as they looked at the fallen city of Canterlot. The destruction was devastating, and it was all but a Changelings’ playground now. It disgusted them to no end. “I understand your fury.” A royal voice spoke to which the unicorn turned furiously to flare her horn before the pony talking stepped out of the shadows before revealing itself to be Princess Luna. “Do not be alarmed, it is just me.” Luna smiled softly to which the unicorn raised an eyebrow at. “I know it is tough to trust anypony in this situation but I can assure you, it is truly me.” Luna calmly reassured the hooded figure which caused them to sigh and let their horn down. “I was foolish. I didn’t think of any other possibility and now my friends are under the command of that monster.” The unicorn sighed sadly. “I understand your plight, but we cannot allow ourselves to succumb to guilt now. At this point, all we can do is fight for Equestria but it will take time but with your help, I am certain we will succeed. What do you say Twilight Sparkle?” Luna said encouragingly. The unicorn removed its hood to reveal herself to be Twilight Sparkle with a smile on her face. “I’m willing to do my part.” She said optimistically.
