> Adagio’s confession > by Newtimestonight > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The beach > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adagio Dazzle was searching rapidly through her draws, looking desperately for something to wear as today was the day, today was the day she was going to tell Sunset Shimmer about her feelings she had developed towards her. These thoughts had been nagging at Adagio for quite some time now, she didn’t know how she hadn’t felt it before, I mean… Sunset was perfect. The way her fire coloured hair framed her alluring face shape and the way her features jumped out at you. Her personality, the way she handles things. She’s always been so accepting of those around her and always there to comfort those who need it. She was the one that took the first step into helping the Dazzlings reform themselves. Of course, Sonata was the first to fall into the sway of things, then Aria and lastly, Adagio. Adagio, at first, had tried to push these feelings aside as feeling genuine happiness for the first time in…ever. But, soon enough, these feelings became more…intense. Whenever she would go to meet up with Sunset for whatever reason, her heart would beat out of her chest and the mere thoughts of being close to her made her tremble with excitement. She continued to search through her draws for an acceptable outfit for the day, after a while, Adagio pulled out a dark purple dress and a leather jacket alongside her usual black boots. “Yes!” Adagio thought to herself as she laid the clothes neatly on her bed. She then left her room to quickly see what she could do with her hair. She fiddled around with it for quite some time before settling on letting it down to flow in the wind. She left the bathroom, her dominating mane covered her back almost entirely. Adagio made her way to her room once again, but then, the relaxation in the air crumbled as it was destructed by Aria Blaze and Sonata Dusk’s arguing. Adagio raised her hand to her head as sat on the edge of her bed. She frowned as she felt a slight headache begin to assert itself. “No, today is not about them,” Adagio thought to herself as she lifted herself up from the edge of her bed frame, “today is about me and Sunset.” Adagio sighed, checked the time and gasped at the sight of the clock. Seven thirty. “Oh god! I’m gonna be late!” Adagio said to herself as she quickly picked up her keys in a panic, her leather jacket was wrapped around her waist and she slid her boots on as she made we way to the door. She tried her best to avoid becoming involved in her sisters endless fight and, miraculously, was successful. She bolted out of the door and began to run to the beach where the two agreed to meet. On the way there, Adagio put her jacket on and checked her phone once again. A text from Sunset had appeared on the screen that read, “I’m nearly there, sorry I’m late!” Adagio exhaled as she read the text and chuckled to herself shortly after. As Adagio got closer and closer to her destination, her heart was practically beating out of her chest. What would she say? How would she say it? And most importantly…what would Sunset say? Adagio slowly shoved her hands into her pockets and began to admire the sun setting beyond the horizon. She grinned as she waited patiently for Sunset to arrive, still watching the sun as it dove deeper and deeper into the water and darkness began to take over the sky. Adagios admiration was soon cut off by the embrace of someone hugging her from behind. She gasped quietly before turning around to see the person. There she was, Sunset Shimmer. Adagios face resembled a tomato as she looked Sunset up and down numerous times. She was dressed in a red, sleeveless crop top with see though sides and black ripped jeans that went perfectly with her leather boots. Her hair was let loose and Adagio admired her as the chilly breeze swept though her. Sunset looked at Adagio and quickly made her way beside her, joining her in watching as the sun fell deep into country on the other side of the sea. Sunset was the first to break the silence. “This is beautiful, Adagio.” She said as she looked into Adagios eyes. “It really is.” Adagio said, returning Sunsets gaze. “Well?” Sunset said as she gestured towards a quiet path that surrounded the beach. Adagio smiled and nodded and they both began to walk the path. Soon enough, the ice began to break and small conversations consisting of gossip and sarcastic jokes broke out between the two. Occasionally, they would stop to simply take in the scenery that surrounded them, the birds that flew freely though the sky and the autumn leaves that were pulled along by the cold breeze. Adagio looked over to Sunset who had her arms crossed, covering part of her upper arm. She was shivering. Adagio, without giving it a second thought, quickly took her jacket off and wrapped it around Sunset. Sunsets eyes widened for a moment and then her expression became one of comfort and genuine appreciation. She smiled at Adagio and Adagio smiled back. “Sunset…” Adagio said, breaking the momentary silence. “Yes?” Sunset answered, looking up at Adagio, her expression remained soft and warm. “You…” Adagio gulped. “You look amazing today.” Sunset blushed. “Thank you, Dagi. So do you, I’m loving the new look.” Sunset said with a chuckle. Adagio blushed and her expression changed from warm and sweet to one of uncertainty and genuine worry. Sunset raised an eyebrow as she noticed the change in Adagios face. “Adagio? Are you okay?” “I’m…not sure.” Adagio shivered as a cold breeze passed through her once again. They stayed silent for a moment until Sunset spotted an empty bench beside the shore. She gestured to Adagio to follow her and she sat the former siren down next to her. She positioned her hand in Adagios knee and looked up at her with a slight frown. Adagio blushed and looked away from Sunset, hoping she didn’t see the glowing redness radiating off of her face. “Adagio, please talk to me.” Sunset began. “You know how much I love our little meet ups but…I can’t help but wonder if there’s something going on in your mind this time around? Something you might need to talk about?” Sunset began to gently rub Adagios knee with her thumb and Adagio turned her head towards Sunsets. The formar siren took a deep breath and began. “Well…” she she sighed. “I’m just so happy that I’ve finally got someone I can talk to, someone I can share things with…I’m so happy I’ve got someone like you in my life Sunset Shimmer. But…” Adagio stopped her self but continued after Sunset moved her hand from Adagio knee to her shoulder. “I don’t want my own feelings to ruin what we have.” Sunsets eyes began to beam with understanding and anticipation as Adagio continued her brief one sided conversation. Sunset singled that she wanted Adagio to continue with a quick, “hm?” Adagio took a much overdue breath and began the last few sentences of her release. “I…I” Adagio took one more sigh before finishing. “I like you Sunset.” Sunsets eyes widened and her mouth gaped, she was unable to get any words out for at least a minute or two. But then, unexpectedly, Sunsets expression changed from a shocked one to a happy and soft one. She lifted Adagio head up to hers and looked deeply into her glowing red orbs. “I like you too, Adagio. She said in a quiet whisper. She held onto the back of Adagios neck and leaned in, soon causing their lips to lock. Adagios fingers ran through Sunsets hair and Sunset hands ran down Adagios back. They both pulled away after a minute or two or smiled at each other. The day had gone exactly how Adagio had hoped.
