> The Switch Back > by dashielovesyou > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > One and only > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first week of school turned to be a challenge for Rainbow Dash and Rarity. Everyone was shocked and surprised to see the new Rainbow. Lots of guys gave looks to Rainbow Dash which made her uncomfortable. She usually gets male attention but they way they stare at her body just creeps her out. Rarity on the other hand wished she was in Rainbow Dash’s shoes — or heels to say. She had trouble fitting into her first week clothes she picked out, so she just wore a shirt with pants. Which is NOT something Rarity would do without over the trop accessories or some kind of design on the clothes itself. Sure she could just made her own clothes but she needed new supplies. Here comes a weekend of shopping for Rarity. The friend group was pretty shocked when they first seen them, and they still are. Sunset loved making jokes, which made Rarity very upset and Rainbow frustrated. Applejack does the same but stopped as she noticed Rarity’s feelings at the teasing. Applejack didn’t stop teasing Rainbow Dash through, it’s really entertaining for her. Pinkie did a joke, but it didn’t end well due to Rarity lashing out at her and Rainbow Dash cursing her out. The group all had a talk and decided to stop with the jokes and remarks. The group tries to comfort Rarity of her new body, saying it’s a good thing and muscular woman are attractive but it didn’t work. Rainbow Dash tried to go back to her tomboyish self but she finds herself automatically adding makeup here and there when she gets ready. It’s like she’s a robot, like something has been chipped inside her, programmed to add makeup on her face. As for her dressing options, she went back to pants and a shirt but a little differently. She would wear lots of jewelry and big earrings. She would wear a skirt here and there with her over the top designed heels. As the end of the day rolls around, Rainbow Dash and Rarity walked out the school together. They had a casual conversation, despite their whole week revolving around their new changes. “I know this might not be the best time to bring it up” Rainbow Dash started, “I’m still pretty pissed about us mixing up our camps.” Rarity was about to respond but Rainbow Dash stopped her. “Don't get me wrong, I know it's not our fault. But they literally turned me into someone else! I feel like I can't step outside without thinking I need makeup,” Rainbow put a hand to her chin. “Or maybe I’m just insecure… but still, what the actual fuck?” Rainbow Dash strained to get her last sentence out. Her new persona with her voice really didn’t give her a favor. Rarity let out a breathe she seemed to be holding in. “I know what you mean dear. I feel insecure with my body. Although I appreciate muscular physique, I don’t want to have it! I can’t fit into my beautiful dresses!” Rarity let out a cry. She put her head down, starring at her body. There stood silence. Both girls haven’t said anything until Rainbow let out a gasp, resemblance of Pinkies gasp. “Hey I just thought of an idea!” she piped up, “what if we ask Princess Twilight to fix us! I’m sure she has some magical spell shit in her library.” Rarity looked up and gave Dash a look of confusion. Until she pondered. “Are you sure she does? I hate to bother her,” Rarity said. She sure she sounded like their friend Fluttershy. “You sound just like Fluttershy,” Rainbow said, “I’m sure she’ll help us.” That’s what I just thought. Rarity said in her head. “I guess you’re right, we can pay her a visit soon,” “Soon? We can go now!” Rainbow said in excitement and determination. Her inner tomboy showing. Rarity smiled but turned into a look of worry. “Should we inform Sunset and the girls about this? Sunset knows this world more than us. What if something goes wrong?” Rarity worried. “Rarity, nothing will go wrong,” Rainbow Dash reassured her, “actually I don’t think we can go now. We should later where nobody is watching.” Rarity, ignoring how weird that sounded nodded. “That’s what I was thinking,” Rarity gave a smile. Rainbow Dash wrapped a arm around Rarity and walked to their homes. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over Canterlot High, Rainbow Dash and Rarity found themselves standing before the portal that would lead them to Equestria. The magical archway hummed softly, its ethereal hues swirling. It was a moment of both excitement and trepidation as they exchanged glances. “Ready for this, Rarity?” Rainbow Dash asked, a mix of determination and a hint of nervousness in her voice. Rarity straightened her posture, her elegant composure returning as she gave her friend a confident smile. “Absolutely, darling, ” she replied. With a synchronized nod, the two girls took a deep breath and stepped through the portal, the magical energies covering them and transporting them into the world of Equestria. Moments later, came out the portal from Twilight Sparkle's castle. Both Rainbow Dash and Rarity exchanged awestruck glances as they took in the world they were in. Rainbow Dash glanced down at her new wings and smirked. Last time she was here, she tried to fly but ended up crashing. She lifted up her wings and tried to fly. She lost control and started swirling around the castle, crashing once again. As for Rarity, she looked at her body. Her muscles showing even through her body self. She glanced up and looked at her horn. Eyeing it, she decided to give it a go. Rarity looked behind her and grabbed a book. She put it to the ground and started to pick it up. Bursts of magic shot off her horn as she struggled to pick up the book. “Ugh, how do you do this?!” Rarity groaned in frustration. She decided to try again. Concentrating, a fairly visible blue aroma covered the book. Rarity’s face lift up as her blue magic started to become more visible. The book started to lift up in the air and Rarity jumped with joy. “Ha-ah! I did it!” As they both were testing out their new parts, a familiar voice rang out, “Rainbow Dash? Rarity? What brings you here?” Turning towards the source of the voice, they saw their friend, Twilight Sparkle. She stood before them, confusion on her face. “Hey there, Twilight!” Rainbow Dash greeted. “Is something happening in your world? Does Sunset know you guys are here?” Twilight asked in a frantic way. Rainbow put a hand — hoof on her muzzle. “Slow down princess, there is no villain destroying the population,” Dash said with a laugh. Rarity let out a little laugh and Twilight smiled sheepishly. “Heh sorry, what’s up?” Twilight asked. Rarity gave a smile. “Twilight, we must admit, it's rather a complicated story how we ended up here.” Twilight chuckled softly, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “Why don't you two come to my study, and you can tell me all about it?” The trio made their way to Twilight's study, settling into comfortable seats as they shared their story. Rainbow Dash brought up their changes and the challenges they had faced during the week. “It’s like I’m a robot! Plus my voice hurts from doing that stupid voice,” Rainbow complained. Rarity added the struggle with her new body. “I’d rather be obese than this — actually that’s an exaggeration but I want my old body back!” Rarity whined. Rarity and Rainbow Dash, both in simultaneously asked: “Can you fix it?” Twilight furrowed her brow in thought as she considered their situation. After a moment of contemplation, she leaned forward, a determined gleam in her eyes. “Well, this is certainly a situation,” Twilight mused. “I’m sure I have something here that will fix this.” Rainbow Dash and Rarity exchanged excited glances by Twilight's words. “Oh, Twilight, thank you!” Rarity exclaimed, her voice brimming. Twilight smiled warmly, her magical aura covering a dusty tome on her bookshelf. She flipped through the pages with practiced ease, finally locating the spell in question. “Now, this spell might require a few ingredients,” Twilight explained. “But with your determination and my guidance, I'm sure we can make it work.” Rainbow Dash's eyes gleamed with anticipation, her competitive spirit already gearing up for the challenge. “You can count on us, Twilight!” she declared, her voice tinged with excitement. Rarity nodded in agreement. “As long as there's a chance to return to our original forms, we're willing to put in the effort,” Rarity affirmed. With Twilight's guidance, the trio set out on a quest to gather the necessary ingredients, on an adventure that would take them to the corners of Equestria. Along the way, they met creatures, solved riddles, and formed an even stronger bond. It took their whole weekend. They faced a few challenges. Finally, the moment of truth arrived. Standing in Twilight's enchanted laboratory, surrounded by magical energies, the trio prepared to cast the spell that would hopefully restore Rainbow Dash and Rarity to their true selves. With synchronized focus and unwavering determination, they channeled their magic into the spell, a radiant burst of energy engulfing them. Colors swirled, energies intertwined, and then, in a flash, the magical energies subsided. Rainbow Dash and Rarity exchanged glances before tentatively examining their own forms. Relief washed over them as they realized that the spell had worked – they were back in their original bodies. “Oh, thank goodness!” Rarity exclaimed, as she looked down and see her original body. Rainbow Dash let out a whoop of exhilaration, “We did it! We're back!” Twilight beamed at their success, her expression with satisfaction. “I knew you two could do it. Friendship and determination can overcome even the most magical of challenges.” They all shared a laugh. Their adventure had not only brought them back to their true forms but had also strengthened their bond and the power of friendship. “Well we must be going now. The girls are probably wondering where we are,” Rarity said. Twilight smiled, “tell the girls I said hi!” “Of course,” Rarity said. Rainbow Dash and Rarity was face to faced with the portal. They held each other’s hand — hoof as they both stepped in together. They both landed on the concrete pavement at Canterlot High. The sun set at dawn. The two girls smiled at each other and held hoofs — hands as they made their way to their homes. “Hey you guys are back! Where were you?” Sunset asked in shock as she saw Rainbow Dash and Rarity. Rarity with her slim and no more muscular body and Rainbow no longer wearing makeup and wore her usual outfit; a plain shirt with leggings and sneakers. “We went to pay Twilight a visit. She helped us!” Rainbow said with glee, “oh Twilight says hi by the way.” “I could tell,” Sunset said with a laugh, “we are just glad you’re back.” The girls went into the high school chatting it up. Although they were back to normal, Rarity finds herself into sports now. She would attend a game here and there. Sometimes she would join in on Rainbow’s soccer practices just for fun. For Rainbow, she started to appreciate the beauty and fashion world more. Instead of making petty remarks at “girly stuff”, she appreciates the beauty and the time that takes into making them.
