Sighing, Sunset stared at the rising sun. She was alone on the roof of her school in the exact same spot Diamond Tiara had sat in months ago, watching the students walk into the school, not a single one knowing her bloody broken body was about to be in front of them and in a coroner van. She wiped a tear away as she remembered all that happened. Her locker getting harsh insults wrote on it, her bike getting vandalized. The art kids throwing paint on her, the eco kids throwing a pot at her. She still had the bruise from it. And it wasn’t even her. It was those three jealous brats that wanted to spend time with their sisters. The entire school kept trying to apologize, but they didn’t get things could just get solved with a simple apology and everything was magically okay. It sure didn’t work for Sunset after the Fall Formal.

“I thought I was trusted. I thought they cared about me. Why does everyone just believe rumors with no evidence?” Sunset mumbled to herself. The door to the roof swung open and she heard footsteps behind. “Go away Rainbow or Applejack or Fluttershy or whichever of the Rainbooms is behind me. I don’t want to see you.”

“What about seeing me?” A familiar voice asked and Sunset glanced behind her and stared at Diamond Tiara watching her cautiously. Sunset sighed and turned away from her.

“You shouldn’t be here, Diamond. You don’t need to see this.” Diamond Tiara rolled her eyes and stepped forward onto the ledge.

“You shouldn’t have been there for me but you were. It’s my turn to save you now. We look out for each other. It’s what we do,” Diamond sat down next to her.

“What are you doing exactly?” Sunset raised an eyebrow.

“Sitting down. You’re scared up here, I’m scared up here. We might as well be scared together,” Diamond shrugged. Sunset gave a snort and stared down at the far away ground.

“That sounds suspiciously close to what I said when our roles were swapped up here months ago,” Sunset commented casually. Diamond smirked and gave a shrug.

“What can I say, you’re the inspiration.” The two fell into silence watching the sun rise together.

“You know, I thought I proved I was a good person to everyone. I thought they all saw my progress. I thought I was forgiven,” Sunset mumbled. “And everyone just threw me aside over a frame job. Even Derpy ignored me and she loves literally everyone on the planet.”

“I believed you,” Diamond spoke up softly. “I never thought you were behind the account. Remember, I made you stay in my house because you were followed home and everyone knew where you lived.” Diamond wiped a tear away and stared down. “I always thought we would be back up here for me. Not for you. I never in a million years would have saw this coming.”

“First time for everything,” Sunset frowned. “You shouldn’t see this, Diamond. Run home and stay away from the school for a few days.”

“No,” Diamond shook her head. “I’m not leaving you. I’m staying here and we’re talking. Just like you did with me.” Sunset stared at her and sighed.

“When did you get so stubborn?” Sunset asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I spend so much time with my older sister, I’m going to pick some things up from you,” Diamond winked with a smirk. The two had jumped headfirst into their older sister/younger sister relationship. Diamond sighed and looked down. “I don’t want you to do this. You’re probably the best thing to happen to me. Things get better, trust me. I’m proof of that.”

“I don’t know if they will kid. This is one of the lowest points I’ve been at. I don’t think you should see me at it. Might affect how you view me.” Diamond snorted and rolled her eyes.

“You saw me at my lowest. It would be messed up if I left you alone up here,” Diamond chided. “Wanna know some advice?”

“Sure I guess. Doesn’t change anything.”

“A wise person once told me we are our own worst enemy. That wise person is you. You’re the strongest person I know. To hell with Rainbow Dash. To hell with Applejack. To hell with Bulk Biceps. They may be physically strong but mental strength is way more impressive to me. It takes a strong person to wake up every day and go through what you did after the Fall Formal. What you went through during anon a miss. I wouldn’t have been able to,” Diamond smiled sadly.

“I tried to be a good older sister for you. A good role model,” Sunset sniffed and wiped her nose. “And you could have. You’re stronger than you give yourself credit.”

“You are!” Diamond exclaimed and leaned forward accidentally. Sunset instinctively reached out and grabbed her and straightened her.

“Careful getting excited up here. It’s dangerous up here,” Sunset warned. Sunset brushed some hair out of Diamonds eyes and gave a faint smile. “There you go. You can see now.”

“Thanks sis,” Diamond leaned against carefully. Sunset smiled wider and wrapped an arm around her.

“I wouldn’t know what to do without you,” Sunset admitted. “You’ve taught me a thing or two.”

“Because I’m that awesome,” Diamond grinned. Sunset smirked and rolled her eyes. That girl has been spending way too much time around Rainbow and Scootaloo if she’s been picking up their mannerisms. “You’re gonna be mad at me.”

“Why do you say that?” Sunset asked curiously. Diamond sighed and took a deep breath.

“Because I may have punched Apple Bloom after she asked me to get you to sit with her. I think I broke her jaw too. I hit her really hard,” Diamond admitted.

“You did what?” Sunset frowned at the younger girl. “I appreciate you sticking up for me but violence is never the answer.”

“Didn’t you hit Applejack after she asked you to hit her because she did the same to you?” Diamond pointed out.

“Okay touche. I did do that.”

“Are you feeling better?” Diamond asked hopefully. Sunset paused for a moment before nodding.

“Yeah I am,” she stood up and pulled Diamond away from the ledge with her. “I’m ready to go to class.”

“Nah. We’re not going,” Diamond grinned smugly. “I’m taking you out for pancakes like you did with me. Kinda a tradition we started up here ya know?”

“We should start a new one. I don’t think either of us plan to be up here ever again,” Sunset smirked. “Like coffee every morning or something.”

“I’m down. Ready to go skip class and be late?” Diamond opened the door to the roof.

“Yeah. I’m such a bad influence on you I’m sorry.”

“Meh. I don’t think anyone would judge if they found out why we were up here,” Diamond shrugged.

“I love ya Diamond,” Sunset hugged the younger girl as the two started making the familiar walk down the stairs.

“I love you too Sunset.”

“I’m not sure,” Sunset admitted as the door to the roof burst open.

“Don’t do it!” Rainbow shouted as Diamond Tiara glared at them.

“Hear us out darling,” Rarity pleaded as Diamond Tiara stood up and balled her fists.

“And why should she? She wasn’t the one who backstabbing you,” Diamond sneered as Fluttershy hugged herself.

“We screwed up. Please, just let us see Sunset,” Fluttershy begged as Diamond shook her head. “The Movie Club isn’t here. It’s just us.”

“No.”

“Sunset please,” Applejack sighed and froze as Diamond spread her hands wide to block her.

“I was there for you all. I helped fight the sirens with you all, I tolerated even Twilight Sparkle insulting me in the Cafe but you all knew me better than she did. You should have been there for me,” Sunset growled as she stood up.

“Sunset-” Diamond said cautiously.

“I’m sorry Diamond,” Sunset said and stepped off the ledge. Fluttershy gasped as Rainbow, Diamond and Applejack ran to edge to watch Sunset thud on the ground in front of Octavia who gave a terrified scream.

Diamond ignored all the students as she stared at the spot where Sunset had hit a few months ago.

“Hey,” Diamond turned around to a nervous Applejack. Applejack knelt down next to her and looked her in the eyes.

“What the fuck do you want?” Diamond snarled and clenched a fist. “You took my sister away. I don’t wanna see you. The only way I wanna see you is on the news either in jail or in the grave.”

“Ya don’t mean that.”

“Pretty sure I do,” Diamond growled as she stepped forward and took a deep breath, punching Applejack in the face. “That was for Sunset.” She kicked Applejack in the stomach as the farmer fell on her side. “And that was for me.”

“Enough!” Octavia grunted as she restrained Diamond Tiara and lifted the girl up. “I get you’re mad and it’s deserved, but leave it. It’s over.”

Diamond Tiara nodded as she gazed angrily down at a crying Applejack. Octavia was the only person Diamond Tiara trusted as the musician had taken it upon herself to look after the girl. Especially after she believed Sunset was innocent but was too afraid of her friends abandoning her like what happened to Sunset.

“I hate you and your entire family,” Diamond spit out as Applejack avoided eye contact. “I bet your parents would be so disappointed in you if they were alive today.”

Applejack gasped as Octavia dragged a furious and yelling Diamond into the school.
