> 1000 Year Exile > by CrimsonBrony4812 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The stay at Unicornia > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After being banished by his sister Celestia, Drake found himself on the edge of Equestria's border. Drake tried to walk over the border, but was bounced back by an invisible force field. Drake tried several more times, and kept failing. Drake sat down and contemplated on what just happened. Earlier that day, Drake was told to meet Celestia in the throne room at noon. When Drake arrived at noon, he was surprised when Celestia was absent. His sister had never been late. After waiting a minute, Drake headed to the rooms where only Alicorns were allowed. Drake surprisingly found Celestia in the potion making room on the other side of the castle fifteen minutes later. As Drake was walking in, he noticed several ingredients that Celestia was using to make a potion. Drake noticed enough to know what Celestia was making, a nightmare potion. Drake confronted Celestia about the potion. Celestia, startled at Drake's sudden appearance, told him to go back to the throne room. Drake refused, saying he wouldn't leave until Celestia told him why she needed a nightmare potion. Celestia, without warning, shot a blast of magic at Drake. The blast stole all of Drake's magic, leaving him powerless. Celestia then cast a banishment spell on Drake, that would cause him to be outside of Equestria for a thousand years. Drake thought to himself, "Why would she do this? Celestia has never acted this way. Why would she banish me?" Drake thought for several minutes before walking away. For close to a week, Drake walked miserably to the nearby kingdom of Unicornia. While walking there, Drake found an old abandoned cloak. The cloak hid his wings and had a hood to hide his horn. As he entered Unicornia, Drake noticed that there was a bustling marketplace nearby. Drake walked over and after an hour managed to become an apprentice to a pony named Pastel Harmony, a well known artist and musician. Drake, being artistic himself, learned quickly and rose ranks even quicker. Drake went under his last name of Moonblazer to avoid any possible recognition. After close to over a month, Drake started his own small artistic business. Drake also learned to build things as well, which expanded his business. After the first year in living in Unicornia, Drake had a successful business. He mainly did paintings and built small statues, but would occasionally sing at certain events. He was known as a versatile artist and was sought out. This reputation allowed Drake to meet the ruler of Unicornia, King Zep, during a snowglobe making competition. Drake finished in the top ten, which allowed him to compete in the castle for the final competition in the castle. While most made a snowglobe honoring the king or something like that, Drake made a snowglobe that had a miniature snowglobe with a very tiny Unicornia inside. This impressed everyone, including King Zep, who invited Drake to stay for dinner. During the meal, King Zep expressed his huge obsession with snow globes. King Zep wanted to have the largest snow globe collection in equine history. Zep told Drake that he wanted more, Zep wanted his castle to be designed like a giant snow globe. This surprised Drake, who had never seen such an obsession. The conversation continued and Drake became friends with Zep. After finishing dinner, Zep told Drake that the competition was to see who would lead construction for rebuilding the castle into a giant snow globe. Drake did a double take when he heard that. "With all due respect sir", Drake started, "but do you have the resources and ponies to build such a thing?" Zep laughed and assured Drake that he had been collecting supplies for years. Zep then told Drake that he would give Drake about a year to gather enough ponies for the project. The visit ended and Drake went home and pondered the situation, he figured it would take about three hundred ponies or more to accomplish the giant snow globe castle thingamabob. The next few weeks, Drake started to recruit ponies to help with construction. After two months, Drake had already gathered close to two hundred ponies. After that, Drake had a harder time gathering ponies and on top of that, he was still running his small company. After five more months, Drake had gathered close to two hundred ponies for construction. Out of the three hundred ponies, seventy were architects. Drake met with King Zep once more to let him know that he had gathered enough ponies to begin construction. After that, construction quickly began. Drake and other architects noticed quickly that the glass Zep gathered wouldn't be very strong. A young architect named Charles "outside the box" Thompson came up with an idea to fix the glass problem. The idea was for all the unicorns to magically strengthen the glass. The idea impressed Drake, who soon took Charles as an apprentice, and later saw the plan implemented. The plan almost worked flawlessly, but a couple of glass windows were dropped during the plan. Besides that one mistake, construction continued wonderfully, in fact, construction finished after just a year. When the giant snowglobe castle was finished, Zep was so impressed with Drake's leadership skills, he made Drake one of his advisors. After becoming an advisor, Drake brought Charles with him to learn even more. After a couple of years, Drake had become Zep's official royal advisor and Charles had become one the greatest architect unicorns ever. Despite the fact that Drake was doing well and enjoying himself, every night he kept reminiscing about his time in Equestria, which often kept him up for hours. Drake would replay the encounter with Celestia several times in his head until he fell asleep due to exhaustion. After several years, King Zep finally achieved his goal of having the largest snowglobe collection in history and Drake's duty as advisor became diminished since Unicornia was a very peaceful kingdom and had very nice subjects. Drake and Zep became great friends and would often dine with each other and Charles would join them occasionally as he rose through royal ranks. After several more years, Zep eventually stepped down and retired, allowing his son, Dev, to become ruler. After a couple more peaceful years, Zep passed, causing the kingdom to go into mourning. After this, Drake felt he could no longer help the kingdom. Drake packed his few personal items and prepared to leave the kingdom. Drake said goodbye to Charles, who now had a family and children. It was very emotional for both ponies, especially for Drake. The next day, when the sun rose, Drake was walking out of the kingdom to find another place to stay, and help if possible. > Finding a place to stay > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After leaving Unicornia, Drake walked for days, looking for a place to help. Drake met several ponies, but never did more than a basic conversation. After about three weeks, Drake came across a town on a bay. The town stretched across the bay, with about twenty buildings. On a cliff just outside the small town was a primitive light house with a giant fire lighting up the bay. It was late at night when Drake arrived, so he set up a small tent outside and stayed the night in his tent. When day came, Drake went to the town and started to explore it, and found it to only have earth ponies living there. Drake was a little surprised to see a lack of hospitality that most ponies show. After going around town and asking some questions, Drake found out that the town had a history of being attacked by strange magical ponies with horns. Drake then did his best to convince the ponies that he wasn't a danger to them, and even showed them that he had no magic. As time went on the ponies' suspicions of Drake disappeared and accepted him as part of the town. Drake built a small house just outside the town, where he could have some privacy, but also be within helping distance of the town. After a few months, Drake amazed the town ponies of knowledge of faraway kingdoms and lands. This led to the ponies developing trade with some kingdoms within a year, including Unicornia. When the ponies went to trade with Unicornia, Drake went with them to see how the kingdom had been doing. When they arrived at Unicornia, Drake was pleased to see the snowglobe castle still up. While trading, Drake talked to some ambassadors to hear some news about Equestria. Drake was shocked to hear that Luna turned into Nightmare Moon and got banished to the moon. "That means Celestia must have used the potion on Luna," Drake thought to himself, "Luna has never been power driven. I must find out when I return. If Celestia banished Luna for a thousand years, Celestia must have exiled me for a thousand as well." After trading with Unicornia and heading back to the town, Drake was in thought most of the journey back. The other ponies asked Drake why he was silent, but he just dismissed the questions. The ponies figured he didn't want to talk about it and moved on from the question. When they got back, Drake immediately went to his house and didn't leave for days. Several ponies tried to get a response, but to no avail. Eventually did come out and acted like nothing ever happened, which confused the town ponies. When asked about locking himself up, Drake would respond with, "I was busy coming up with a plan for something." When asked about the plan, Drake didn't have an answer. Close to a month later, Drake left the town to explore some of the surrounding forests for some supplies. While Drake was gone, some unicorns came into the town and ransacked the place, and took several ponies. When Drake returned, he found the town panicking. When he questioned some of the ponies, he found out what the unicorns did. When Drake found out which direction the unicorns were headed, he quickly set out. After two days, Drake caught up to the unicorns. When the unicorns saw Drake, they started to laugh. They saw a powerless Alicorn, who was determined to stop them. One got close and decided to mock Drake, before Drake brutally kicked the unicorn against a stone wall. The unicorn went limp and fell unconscious. The unicorns stopped laughing and some checked on the unconscious unicorn. The remaining unicorns then started to blast Drake. Drake dodged the first round and forced a unicorn through a tree. Though Drake had no magic, he still had powerful limbs. The other unicorns started to intensify their blasts. This round hit Drake, who got knocked down. One of the kidnapped ponies yelled out, hearing the yellow, one of the unicorns blasted the pony down. The next moment the unicorn was knocked down. The other unicorns watched in fear as Drake started to beat the unicorn bloody. When Drake was done his face and chest had splatters of blood. The unicorns grabbed their three unconscious friends and started to run away. When Drake turned to the kidnapped ponies, most of them had fear in their eyes. Drake suddenly became self-conscious of what he just did. He released the ponies, but didn't follow them back to town. The ponies didn't see Drake for a couple of weeks afterwards. They soon started to wonder if Drake had left them. After a month of Drake's absence, Drake finally showed back up. They noticed he returned with a bad limp in his front left leg and plenty of wounds. He was on the brink of collapsing when he returned. A doctor was quickly sent over to help Drake. The next few days, Drake rested in his house recovering from his injuries. When asked about his disappearance, Drake said he had been battling monsters and rouge ponies who threatened the town. He said he did it far away so he wouldn't frighten anyone who saw him dispatch the threats. Most threats often were beaten badly with huge wounds and stabbed several times by Drake's horn. Most ponies started to get nauseous when Drake talked about the battle, so Drake didn't share anymore. As the years went on Drake helped keep peace to the town, defending it, helping keep history records, and occasionally visiting Unicornia to get news about Equestria. The cycle repeated itself for centuries and Drake lost count of the years he had been there. While there Drake taught most of the ponies how to defend themselves if a threat came if Drake was gone. Also, every night Drake would stare for hours at the moon, wondering when Luna would be released. As the thousand years came to a close, Drake started to hear news of Celestia's new star student and her dragon assistant. Drake was surprised by this news. "Celestia has never had her own personal protege," Drake thought, "This must be a very special pony." One night Drake noticed that Luna's image on the moon was gone. Figuring Luna's ban was over, along with his own. Drake started his farewell to the town's inhabitants. Drake took the longest with the historian, who's family line Drake had spent the most time with, the Starscouts. Drake promised to the historian that one of his offspring would one day do magical things beyond thought. As Drake left the town, he promised he would return one day, when it needed him the most. Most ponies were saddened by Drake's farewell, but knew he didn't belong. They wished him good luck as he moved on, walking back to the place he once called home. "You better watch out Celestia," Drake thought. I'm coming back home." As the new day dawned, Drake was back on the road, heading back to get back to his rightful place. > Returning home > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After leaving the town, Drake went on his way to Unicornia to get some final news about Equestria before he entered. The journey didn't seem to take as long as it usually did. Upon entering Unicornia, Drake noticed an air of uncertainty. When Drake came up the giant snowglobe castle, he was initially denied access. Drake then tried to explain that he knew the king and had traded with them before. That did nothing as Drake had to wait for someone to recognize him and let him in. After an hour a retired guard recognized Drake and told the guards to let him in. After talking with the king, Drake found out that there had been an attempt on the king's life. Drake then stayed an extra two weeks helping keep peace and find any traitorous ponies. After helping, Drake learned that Celestia's star student, Twilight Sparkle, had quickly become a hero, along with five other ponies.Drake then returned back to the dirt path that would lead back to Equestria. After close to a year leaving the town on the bay, Drake reached the outer edge of Equestria. Drake stood for a moment, remaining that over a thousand years ago he was exiled to this exact spot. Cautiously Drake walked into Equestria, unsure if he would be bounced out. After walking several steps in, Drake sighed in relief. Drake first found a hotel to stay the night so he could rest from his journey. Over the next couple of weeks, Drake journeyed to Baltimare, where Equestria's largest historical library was. Once there, Drake spent the next two weeks catching up on Equestria's history. Drake was enraged when he read all accounts of Luna's sudden transformation into Nightmare Moon. He was further enraged when he couldn't find any mention of him at all. The closest thing he found was an old legend which mentioned an unknown third Alicorn. As Drake caught up in recent history, he was surprised to see the Crystal Empire's early return. Drake was further surprised when he read about Discord's reformation. While at the library, Drake read everything he could about the old castle. Drake was disheartened to read that the old castle was abandoned. "Celestia must have built a new castle to restart her image, with a new castle and the only hero remaining, her subjects must have loved her. But no matter, I will return and take what Luna and I rightfully deserve," Drake thought to himself on the last day he was at the library. When Drake was leaving, the librarian questioned why Drake was so interested in the historical books. Drake gave a vague answer that he wanted to catch up, before leaving. It took Drake several weeks to walk to the Everfree Forest. Drake walked so he didn't spark news of an unknown pony making its way to what seemed like Canterlot. Drake had no intentions of meeting the main six. When Drake passed through Ponyville on the way, he noticed he could see Canterlot in the distance. When Drake left Ponyville and went into the Everfree Forest, he was unaware that Twilight and Spike were about to do the same thing. As Drake approached the castle, he noticed the extensive damage. As he entered his name and tale started to regain his glow. As he was making his way through the castle, he heard something coming into the castle. "Dang it," Drake thought, "That must be Celestia's star student, Twilight Sparkle." When Drake came to the doorway leading to the library, he opened a secret doorway that led to his own room. As he entered, his horn started to glow as he walked through. As Drake started to search through his things for the magic infused items, he heard a voice behind him say, "You're not Twilight!" Turning to Spike, Drake said, "You're absolutely right. You must be Spike right? Twilight Sparkle's personal assistant." Spike nodded in astonishment. Drake proceeded to ask Spike what his name was. When Spike gave two wrong answers, Drake proceeded to tell Spike who he was. Hearing Drake's proclamation about being a prince brought Spike to laughter. After a moment Drake remembered that he didn't exist according to Equestria. Turning his back to Spike, Drake continued his search. After a couple moments, Drake said, "Aha!" Drake pulled out a rotten chest and opened it. He pulled out a large ruby. Then Drake inhaled the magic he infused in it. His wings and horn glowed brightly as his magic returned. With Spike watching Drake finished inhaling the magic infused items as they crumbled to dust. When Drake was finished he looked at Spike and said, "If you can keep quiet about this and get the princesses to gather in three days, I'll give you more jewels you can imagine." Then Drake made a giant chest filled with gems appear. Spike quickly agreed and went to find Twilight. While making his room livable for a few days, Discord suddenly appeared, curious about Drake's sudden gain of magic. "Well what do we have here?" Discord asked as he poofed into existence. "An Alicorn looking for his chance to return to power Discord," Drake said, not giving Discord another look. "I certainly hope you're not planning to overthrow the princesses, otherwise I'll have to warn them," Discord said, slightly miffed that a pony was basically ignoring him. Drake chuckled, "No Discord, I don't have any plans for that. You see, I am Princess Celestia and Princess Luna's brother. Celestia exiled me without my magic and I intend to surprise Celestia and return to my rightful place as a ruler of Equestria." "And if she doesn't allow you?" Discord asked. "Then I will challenge her to a duel, and it would be helpful if you didn't interfere at all. I've read all about you, surely a picnic with Fluttershy could be arranged on the day of my return," Drake said smirking, knowing Discord and Fluttershy was a thing. "Keep her out of this, however it has been a while since we had a picnic…" Discord said, before muttering to himself. "Will this solidify a picnic?" Drake asked, opening a saddle bag revealing a cute crab, something he had gotten in Unicornia before going into Baltimare, "I hear that this type of crab is the rarest kind ever." Discord muttered to himself once again before agreeing. When the three days were up, Drake arrived in Canterlot, waiting for a message from Spike. When Drake received Spike's message, Drake sent a message of his own to Celestia. "That will surely put her on a loop, and close Canterlot," Drake thought. Then Drake quickly flew to the castle and after knocking out guards, Drake finally made his way to the throne room, a place he hadn't been in over a thousand years. With Celestia watching in horror, Drake walked towards them, determined to regain his place. After failing to convince Celestia, Drake challenged her to a duel, which he won. Afterwards, the incident was forgotten and Drake and Luna ruled equally with Celestia for many moons to come.
