After suffering the worst possible of curses, the Immortal Sombra returns to bring forth the ten plagues and resurrect his lost love. Southern Equestrian Scholar Fluttershy journeys to the City of the Dead with her older bumbling brother Zephyr Breeze and Gunman Discord, Unfortunately they unintentionally bring to life the one mummy who must never be awoken.

The sands of Southern Equestria blew across the winds as the Sun began to dip behind the three Great Pyramids, a massive gust of wind blew past the Pyramids as time around them rewound revealing a prosperous city. In the city, the great Sphinx was nearing completion as the citizens worked tirelessly, Galloping down the streets in his regal chariot was the ruler of this once great city.
"Thebes...The City of the Living, The Crown Jewel of Pharaoh Solarious the First
On a horse-driven chariot, a man that could be described as a living god rode down the streets toward his palace. His loyal bodyguards, the Medjai, bowed to him as he rode past.
"Home of Sombra; the Pharaoh's High Priest and keeper of the Dead"
Looking down on the city from one of the palace balconies was a dark-skinned man, the bald man watched the pharaoh return with his piercing red eyes, the man wore black robes with a piece of gold jewelry around his neck and on the back of his robe.
"Birthplace of Chrysalis; The Pharaoh's mistress. No man was allowed to touch"
A gorgeous, olive-skinned goddess enters the outer foyer. The beauty's clothing was scarcely consisting of shall which barely covered her lower body. her entire naked body had been painted in the manner most appealing to the Pharaoh. She was a stunning sight to behold.
She made her way through the ornate statuary before passing several golden statues, a large number of them turning their heads before heading to the doors. Several more hideous, bald men stand nearby, They're the priests of Osiris, the Priests under Sombra's command. Their eyes watch their Pharaoh's mistress vanish through the bedroom curtains before barring the doors.
But for their Love they were willing to risk Life itself
Chrysalis embraces Sombra, and they kiss passionately, feverishly. Sombra's hands roam over her perfect body, smearing the paint.
As Sombra's Priests finish closing the entrance to the room, the doors suddenly burst open. The Pharaoh angrily strides in and looks at the Priests who immediately bowed before their lord.
"What are you doing here?" the Pharaoh asked before looking towards the curtains with an angered Expression
The Priests backed away, scared of their Pharaoh. Their Lord's arrival was unexpected, The Pharaoh strides for the curtains before throwing them back. Chrysalis stood alone next to a feline statue, She gives the Pharaoh a sexy smile as she pet the top of the statue. However, the Pharaoh only sees the smeared body paint.
"WHO HAS TOUCHED YOU?!" The Pharaoh asked as he points his finger at his Mistress's shoulder.
Chrysalis looked visibly shocked but calmed when she looked behind the Pharaoh. From behind him, Pharoah Solarius' sword is ripped out of its scabbard. The Pharaoh spins around and finds his Priest, and even looks shocked as gripped the weapon with both hands
"Sombra?..." Solarius said confused and shocked by the man before him. "My priest."
Behind him, Chrysalis raised a dagger before plunging it into the Pharaoh's back.
Pharaoh Solarius lets out a pain-filled scream before Sombra raises Pharaoh's sword, Sombra's Priests hastily slammed the doors shut and bolt them tight. Through the curtains, the priests watch as the shadows of Chrysalis and Sombra stabbed away at Pharaoh. Suddenly, the doors are rammed from the other side.
WHAM!
Sombra and Chrysalis turned and looked towards the door with dread.
WHAM!
The doors are rammed again as the two lovers share desperate looks.
WHAM!
"The Pharaoh's bodyguards!" Sombra shouted in fear for both himself and his love
"You must go." Chrysalis pleaded for her love. "Please my love save yourself."
"I will not" Sombra replied choosing to be with his love "Only you can resurrect me," Chrysalis said to the Keeper of the Dead
"I won't leave you!" Sombra shouted at Chrysalis only for his priests to take hold of him and try to get him out of the room. "No! Stop! Get Off Me!"
Sombra tries to break free, but Chrysalis rips the Pharaoh's sword out of his hand and pushes him toward the balcony.
"You shall live again my love," Sombra said as he continued to struggle. "I Will resurrect you!"
Sombra's face fills with despair as the doors explode open, men in black with tattoos all over their bodies stride in, armed to the teeth. The Medjai: the Pharaohs Bodyguards, sworn to protect the Pharaoh even at the cost of their lives. The Priests hustle Sombra out onto the dark balcony just as the Medjai rips through the curtains.
Chrysalis glared at the Medjai as she pointed at Pharaoh and hissed. "My body is no longer his temple!" She Plunged the sword into her own heart.
Out on the balcony, Sombra's mouth opens into a horrible silent scream as he watches his beloved kill herself.
"For murdering Pharaoh, Chrysalis' body was to be cursed. And it was Sombra, the High Priest, whose duty it was to curse it."
begrudgingly Sombra lead the procession across the dunes, Chrysalis' mummy was carried by the slaves of the nation. They put her down in the sand next to an unmarked grave alongside five jeweled encrusted jars.
"Her body was mummified, her vital organs removed, and placed in sacred canopic jars."
Sombra, filled with dread, reads from the Book of Amun-Ra. A large book made entirely out of pure gold, It is also known as the Book of the Living. The Book of The Living contained sacred incantations that would send the evil dead on a journey into the dark underworld.
A strange light suddenly flashes across the faces of the slaves and the Southern Equestrian soldiers, suddenly, everyone's fear-filled eyes all rise as they watch Chrysalis' body start to rise. Then with no warning, there was one last huge flash, accompanied by a blast of wind, and it was over. Chrysalis' body now lies still on the ground.
Sombra's Priests place her body into a stone sarcophagus before sealing it, while slaves lowered it into a hole and bury it with sand. Sombra then signals to the Soldiers, who throw their spears at the slaves, Killing them.
With a nod of the High Priest's head, his priests drew knives and proceeded to attack the now unarmed Soldiers, hacking at them in the flickering darkness as Sombra and the Medjai solemnly watches so that no unholy person should ever know the exact location of the burial site.
The Medjai walk off across the sand and then, one by one, the Priests stop their frenzied stabbing and stare off at the vanishing Medjai. As the last of the Pharaohs Bodyguards disappear over a distant dune, Sombra nods, and the Priests leap onto Chrysalis' grave and begin digging it back up with their hands.
With the sarcophagus free from the sands it was loaded into the back of Sombra's chariot, the High Priest and his followers race out into the moonlit desert. Sombra knew very well there was no way to bring his love back from the dead...Except one.
The Book Of The Dead, which was never to be opened, never to be read, for it contained the incantations that could bring a dead body back to life a most unholy thing. The chariots arrive at a place known only to a certain few, Sombra and his priests race up the stone ramp and in through the city gates.
"They raced through the desert taking Chrysalis' corpse to Hamunaptra: The City of the Dead. The Ancient Burial Site for the sons of Pharaohs and the hidden resting place for the wealth of Southern Equestria"
The Book Sombra sought was hidden here at Hamunaptra, inside the statue of Anubis so that no such sacrilege might ever disgrace Southern Equestria. Sombra pulled the ornate chest out of a secret compartment inside the giant statue of Anubis, the red-eyed man open the chest and lifts out the Book of the Dead.
"But for his love of Chrysalis, He was willing to defy the gods."
Big hairy rats scurry through the mausoleums and over the headstones of this very large, scary, underground crypt. Sombra and his priests descended into the most sacred place with Chrysalis in tow, the bald priests made quick work by setting Chrysalis before their High Priest.
A detritus moat surrounds the cemetery, a muck made out of filthy water and human remains. Skulls bob in the goop. The Priests gathered in a circle. Their hooded, lifeless eyes seem dead to this world. Their bald heads rock back and forth as they chant, a quiet eerie HUM.
In the middle of the circle is a strange, twisted altar. Sombra walked up to his beloved and began to unwrap Chrysalis' gorgeous, lifeless body and placed her five sacred canopic jars around her.
As Sombra begins to read from The Book of The Dead, a large swirling hole starts to open in the detritus bog. Several Priests look over at it, frightened, then quickly look back down and resume chanting. A strange mist wafts up out of the swirling hole and over to the jars, it passes through them and into Chrysalis' body. One of the jars shuddered, and the heart inside begins to beat. The ritual to bring his beloved back to him was reaching a crescendo. Sombra's beloved Chrysalis suddenly opened her eyes and took a deep inhale.
"The soul of Chrysalis had come back from the Land of the Dead! Now all that was needed, was to return her organs to their rightful place within her body."
Sombra lifted a sacrificial knife above Chrysalis' breast and was about to plunge it down, and much to the High Priest's horror that's when the Medjai Burst in and stormed through the startled Priests. The head Medjai smashed the jar that held the beating heart. The mist instantly leaves Chrysalis' body and implodes back into the swirling hole.
"But the Pharaohs Bodyguards had followed Sombra and stopped him before the ritual could be completed"
Sombra's beloved closed her eyes and once again joined the land of the Dead, the High Priest let out a rage-filled scream as he lost his love for the second time. The Medjai grab him and his Priests, and the Pharaohs Bodyguards took them away to face their sins.
"His Priests were condemned to be mummified alive"
In a large chamber, the Medjai held down the priests as they were stripped of their tongues and organs before being wrapped and buried.
"As for Sombra, he was condemned to endure the Hom-Dai, the worst of all ancient curses. One so horrible, it had never before been bestowed."
Sombra was placed on his knees while the Medjai held his tongue out, where a priest sliced it off with a knife. While screaming, he was wrapped in cloth, just as his followers had been. But for him, it would only get worse.
Once he was fully wrapped, Sombra was placed in a sarcophagus that had all the blessings of the dead removed. Once inside, a priest wearing the sacred head of Anubis walked over, carrying a pot that emitted chitters from within. The priest dumped the content of the jar, which were Scarab beetles that swarmed all around Sombra, getting him to scream again.
He was sealed inside one sarcophagus before being entombed into another, both sealed with a key.
"He was to remain sealed inside his sarcophagus, be undead for all of eternity." The sarcophagus was then buried beneath the statue of Anubis. "The Madjai would never allow him to be released, for he would arise a walking disease, a plague upon mankind, an unholy flesh-eater with the strength of ages, power over the sands, and the glory of invincibility."
A mile across the scorching desert two hundred french foreign legionnaires scurry through the ruins of the old city of Hamunaptra, preparing for the onslaught that was fast approaching. Up against one of the ancient walls was an Equestria soldier. A Dashing and handsome man named Discord Chaos, the man had black hair slicked back and two strands of hair that was silver and light blue.
"For more than three thousand years, men and armies fought over this land never knowing what even lay beneath it"
A great distance away, seven cloaked figures watched the approaching conflict as it inched closer to Hamunaptra
"And for three thousand years, we, the Medjai; the descendants of the Pharaohs sacred Bodyguard have watched over his unholy resting place"
Across the sand, a Southern Equestrian army bellowed a war cry while racing toward the foreign legion on horseback, taking shelter at the ancient city.
As the war band drew closer, the commander in charge threw down his saber and raced toward the relative safety of the city. As the men watched their commander leave, a man named Golden Bit, better known to his friends as Bitty, looked over to Discord. "Looks like you just got promoted."
"I knew this was gonna be a lousy day." Discord loaded his rifle before shouting to the rest of his garrison. "STEADY!" the black-haired man then looked at his friend next to him. "You're with me on this one, Right Bitty?"
"Your strength gives me strength Discord," Bitty said nervously as he watched the horde approach
Unfortunately, his will broke as he swiftly threw down his rifle and followed after his former commander. "Wait for me!"
"Coward," Discord sneered as he returned his sights to the problem ahead of him. "STEADY!"
The horsebound men set their rifles and took aim at the soldiers, Chaos steels himself as the placed his finger on the trigger.
"FIRE!" Discord shouted as he pulled the trigger
The Legionnaires on the ground fire their rifles, and the wave of bullets hits their mark on a vast number of their targets. The legionnaires blow dozens of enemies clean off their mounts, the prone Legionnaires quickly begin to reload. The kneeling Legionnaires fire again causing more of their enemies to fall to the sands of Southern Equestria
The remaining warriors opened on the uniformed soldiers, their bullets ripped through the hot air before a third of the Legionnaires were killed instantly.
The remaining standing Legionnaires fired a second time, this time knocking their foes off their mounts. Then the entire force plows into the ruins and through the Legionnaires, Discord grabs the barrel of his rifle and starts clubbing the riders off their steeds, and fighting like a man possessed.
Discord managed to get off one last shot with the rifle before throwing it to the ground. As the Legionnaires fall dead all around him, Discord reaches for his belt and goes for his guns. He cross-draws with a gun in each hand and starts blowing riders off their mounts.
The Equestrian backed away toward the temple before throwing down the now empty revolvers and drawing a second set of guns from his back, Discord spun around and began running at full speed. The Equestrian was soon chased by four of the raiders, Discord jumped over one of the fallen columns and stopped his friend Golden Bit near one of the temple doors.
"Run Bitty, Run" Discord shouted as the horsemen follow behind. "Bitty, get inside!"
Bitty scrambled for the door just as Discord was halfway to him and without hesitating he began to close it.
"Hey...Don't you close that door! DON'T! YOU! CLOSE! THAT! DOOR!!" Discord yelled just as the door slammed on him and he found himself dodging bullets left and right. "I'm going to kill you Bitty!"
Discord turns and bolts off around the rocks as he runs for his life from the raiders. Weaving through the ruins, Discord jumps over another stone column. Unfortunately for the Equestrian, he had dropped his guns. Discord scrambled to his feet to reach for the closest firearm, unfortunately, the raiders fired their rifles which forced the Equestrian to leave the gun. The southern Equestrians were getting closer and closer, The pounding of their hoofs getting louder and louder.
Discord continues to run only to find his path blocked by a buried statue of Anubis, the Equestrian lets out a breath before he spins around and faces his attackers. The four massive horses crash to a stop in front of him. The vicious raider raises their rifles to finish him off.
Discord just stands there both exhausted and beaten, then he slowly lifts his right hand and gives them the bird.
Out of nowhere, all four of the raider's horses start to go ballistic. Two of the Riders were violently thrown to the ground, The horses screech, bellow, and snort in fear before they buck like fury and hauled ass away as if the devil himself had scared them. The thrown Riders get up and race off after their mounts.
The stunned Discord just stands there before he lifts his right hand and checks out his middle finger. The Equestrian then felt a chill down his spine, and turns around and looks at the shattered, decrepit statue of Anubis.
Suddenly, the sand begins to shift under Discord's feet. The Equestrian starts to back away, keeping his eyes on the transforming sand. Discord assumed there were huge snakes wiggling and writhing beneath it until they started forming lines and shapes, It was drawing a picture.
Discord quickly turned and ran off through the ruins, unaware that the sand had stopped moving. The sand itself had shifted in a way where it looked like a face etched in torment.
Up on a ridge, The Madjai watch Discord stumbles clear of the decrepit city.
The Medjai leader is a fierce woman in black robes, with dual scimitars across her waist. Her face is both beautiful and horrible, with a black and white mohawk and tattoos on her body and face. Her cyan eyes watch Discord stagger off into the open desert
"The creature remains undiscovered," the Female Medjai said with relief.
Discord felt a mysterious presence and looks up, on the ridge a distance away Discord found several figures. Looking away Discord hurried off through the desert
"Zecora, what should we do of the survivor?" one of the Medjai asked "Should we kill him?"
"No" the Medjai known as Zecora said shaking his/her head "The desert shall kill him"
Cairo; a city so old that the stars have actually changed their positions in the sky since its birth. A city teeming with every form of life. A strange, mysterious, wonderful city. Within the city sat the Museum of Cairo, a vast wealth of knowledge to all who cross its threshold.
Deep in the bowels of the museum lie the stacks. Rows upon rows of towering bookshelves were filled with literature on Southern Equestrian Antiquities, History, and Language. Standing at the top of a tall ladder between two of these rows and leaning against one of the bookshelves, is an Equestrian who had aqua-colored eyes which had a pair of pink reading glasses over them, long pink hair that was styled in a bun, and wore a white blouse, black skirt with heels.
Her name was Fluttershy; the Librarian of the Museum and currently, and this woman was sorting out the books. Fluttershy pulled out a book from a stack under her arm before blowing the dust off it, then places it on a shelf with other books whose titles all begin with the letter "S".
"Sculpture Aesthetics" Fluttershy then grabs another book out from under her arm and reads the title. "Tu..Tuthmosis?... Now how did you get up here?"
Carefully, so as not to lose her balance, she looks over her shoulder to the bookshelf behind her, where all the titles begin with the letter "T". Then she looks down and takes note that It's a long way to the bottom, Fluttershy gently sets the other books down on the top shelf before turning and gingerly starts to reach across the aisle with the Tuthmosis book. It's a little far out of her reach, so she stretches to reach the bookshelf, holding the top of the ladder with her fingertips.
"Almost there," Fluttershy said as she began to feel the shelf with the book
Unfortunately, the ladder pulled back causing Fluttershy to yelp and drop the book, the ladder stands straight up with pink-haired woman trying desperately to keep it's balance
"H..Help" Fluttershy meekly yelp out
Evelyn clings to the top of the ladder as she struggles for balance, The ladder teeters out of control which caused Fluttershy to lose balance and crash to a stop at the top of a bookshelf. Fluttershy holds her breath waiting for the Bookshelf to topple over, after a minute Fluttershy then sighs heavily.
And that's when the bookshelf starts to fall forward and crashes into the next bookshelf.
Fluttershy slides down the ladder and plops to the floor, the pink-haired woman quickly jumps to her feet and watches just as the domino effect kicks in. Each bookshelf crashes into the next, Bookshelf after bookshelf topples over as thousands of volumes fling off shelves and scattering across the floor. It finally ends as the last shelf crashes into the first bookshelf. Fluttershy closes her eyes and prays that this is just a dream, She then opens one eye, Looks left, Then right, Then opens the other eye and stares at the huge mess.
"Oops," Fluttershy said removing her reading glasses
Before Fluttershy could ask how this could get any worse, in comes the Museum Curator who looked around in horror.
"What...What happene..." the Curator then spotted Fluttershy. "I don't believe this!" the curator stomped over to the librarian. "By the Sons of the Pharaohs, Give me Frogs, Flies, Locusts anything but You!" the curator stopped right in front of Fluttershy. "Compared to you the other Plagues were a joy!"
"I'm very sorry Mr. Neighsay it was an accident" Fluttershy apologized as she started to gather the books off the floor
"My Darling girl," the curator said in a softer, nicer tone. "When Ramses destroyed Syria, that was an accident." Fluttershy shrank back realizing he was faking his nice tone "You are a catastrophe!"
"Look at my Library!" Curator Neighsay gestured to the destruction still fuming and mad. "Why do I put up with you?"
"You...You put up with me because I can read and write ancient Egyptian, decipher hieroglyphs and hieratics," Fluttershy said as she started to raise her voice. "And I'm the only person within a thousand miles who knows how to properly code and catalog this library."
"I put up with you because your mother and father were our finest patrons," Neighsay said soon regretting bringing them up. "Faust rest their souls."
The Curator calms as he rubs the temples of his head. "Look I don't care how you do it nor how long it takes" the curator then looked back at Fluttershy. "Just clean up this mess"
After the curator had left, Fluttershy heard a noise from the exhibit next door and was a bit startled.
"Hello?" She called out to see if anyone else was in the museum and began to walk towards a sarcophagus at the center of the exhibit.
"Muhammad? Abdul?....bob?" She called out to her fellow coworkers but was once again met with silence until.
SCREEE!!
"AAAAH!!"
The mummy inside the sarcophagus suddenly sprang up giving her quite the scare before she heard a very annoying and familiar laugh.
"You...! YOU...!" Fluttershy shouted as she watched her brother pop his head out of the sarcophagus
"Have you no respect for the dead Zephyr!?" Fluttershy shouted at her older brother
Zephyr Breeze was a tan-skinned man who had Pale, light grayish-gold hair which was pulled back into a high bun. His eyes had a Grayish cerise color to them, the man wore a Teal suit and pants with a grey undershirt.
"Of course, I do Flutter Butter but sometimes.." Zephyr said as he places the mummy's arm against the sarcophagus. "I'd rather like to join them"
Zephyr grins as his younger sister punches him hard in the chest.
"Well, Sometimes I wish you'd do it sooner rather than later," Fluttershy said putting the mummy back in its resting place. "Before you ruin my career the way you've ruined yours."
"My dear, sweet, baby sister," Fluttershy's brother began as he got out of the sarcophagus "I'll have you know, Oof" Zephyr stopped talking as he felt a numbing pressure coming from his groin. "That at this moment my career is on a high note."
Zephyr laughs as he then falls back and sits on the edge of the exhibit.
"A High note? Ha!" Fluttershy laughed at her failure of a brother "Zephyr for the last five years you've been scrounging around Southern Equestria, and what have you to show for it? Nothing."
Fluttershy unleashed all her frustration at her brother before leaning against an ancient statue. "Zephyr please I am in no mood for your games today," Fluttershy said almost on the verge of tears "I've made a massive mess in the library and the Celestial Scholars have rejected my application form for the ninth time," the Pink haired woman said as tears began to form. "They keep saying that I lack experience in the field"
Sensing the distress of his younger sister Zephyr knelt in front of her and took her hands in his.
"You'll always have me Flutters," Zephyr said with a warm smile which Fluttershy returned. "Besides I've got something that will cheer you up"
Zephyr excitedly started scrounging around in the Sarcophagus.
"Oh no Zephyr" Fluttershy groaned still holding her smile. "Please tell me it's not another worthless trinket"
"Trust me this time Flutters you won't be disappointed," Zephyr said with pure confidence
"You said that the last time and it was junk" Fluttershy said as her brother found what he was looking for. "Zephyr, if I bring one more piece of junk to the Curator to try and sell..."
Fluttershy was stunned at what she was looking at, it was a small, black, ancient box. Fluttershy is instantly curious about the item as she grabs the box out of his hand.
"Zephyr, Where did you get this?" Fluttershy asked as she looked over the box
"On a dig, down in Thebes," Zephyr replied sitting next to his sister. "My whole life I've never found something like this," the older brother said as Fluttershy rolled the box around in her hands, mumbling to herself as she translates the hieratics and hieroglyphs covering it. "Fluttershy. Please Tell me I've found something."
Fluttershy's fingers play with the various little slats on the box, shifting them this way and that way, like it was a puzzle box. Then suddenly the box opens up, and sitting inside the open box is a folded piece of golden papyrus.
"Zephyr?" Fluttershy said taking out the paper and unfurling what looked like a ancient map
"Yes?"
"I think you found something."
The Curator sat at his desk as he stared at the piece of papyrus, Fluttershy hovered behind him with an excited look plastered on her face.
"See the cartouche there," Fluttershy pointed to the seal on the map "it's the official royal seal of Solarius the First, I'm sure of it."
"Perhaps." Neighsay mused before setting the map down
Zephyr leaned in from across the desk. "Two questions. Who the hell is Solarius the First? And was he rich?
"He was the last Pharaoh of the Old Kingdom," Fluttershy said before noticing the look her brother was giving her. "He was also said to be the wealthiest Pharaoh of them all."
"Ohh..ho ho I like this fellow, I like him very much." Zephyr grinned as he thought of the riches
The Curator picks up the map and began to look at it through a magnifying glass
"I've already dated it!" Fluttershy exclaimed in excitement. "This map is almost three thousand years old." The pink-haired woman then pointed to the corner of the map "And take a look at the hieratics over here...It's Hamunaptra.
"My dear girl, don't be ridiculous, we are scholars, not treasure hunters," Neighsay said giving a disapproving look at Fluttershy. "Hamunaptra is a myth told by ancient storytellers to amuse greek and roman tourists"
"Look I know all the blabber about the city being protected by a curse of a mummy nonsense," Fluttershy looked at the curator with a fierce gaze. "However, my research has led me to believe that the city itself Did exist"
"Are we talking about The Hamunaptra?" Zephyr asked his younger sister with a curious look on his face
"The very same Zephyr," Fluttershy said with joy and pride in her voice. "It was also known as The City of The Dead and was where the early Pharaohs were said to have hidden the vast wealth of Egypt.
"Right, right, in a big underground treasure chamber," Zephyr said with excitement which made the curator laugh
"Spare me" Neighsay shrugged at the brother's excitement
"Come on, everybody knows the story," Zephyr exclaimed with passion in his voice. "The entire necropolis was rigged to sink into the sand. On Pharaoh's command, a flick of the switch! And the whole place could disappear beneath the dunes with the treasure in tow."
"Well be that as it may," The Curator holds the map closer to the burning candle lamp. "As the Americans would say: it's all fairy tales and hokum."
Curator Neighsay yelps in surprise as the ancient map catches flames, the Curator wasted no time in throwing the papyrus to the floor. Both siblings drop to their knees and quickly puts it out. Zephyr lifts up the remains of the map with horror in his eyes, the fire had claimed the left third of the map.
"You burned it!" Zephyr croaked out. "You burned off the part with the lost city!"
It's for the best, I'm sure." the curator said earning a glare from Fluttershy's older brother. "Many men have wasted their lives in the foolish pursuit of Hamunaptra, no one has ever found it, and most have never returned."
"You killed my map!" Zephyr said raising his voice
"I'm sure it was a fake, anyway," Neighsay then turned to Fluttershy. "I'm surprised at you, Miss Shy, to be so fooled.
"The Curator reaches for the box only to have Fluttershy quickly snatch it off the desk and gives him a very angry, suspicious look.
"This belongs to my brother," Fluttershy said as she left the office followed by her brother
Once out Fluttershy began to fume. "Unbelievable, our one chance to find the lost city and it's gone"
"Umm... Flutters I think I need to tell you something about where I got that Box" Zephry said with a sheepish grin
When Zephyr told the truth of how he actually acquired the box his sister was nothing short of livid and demanded to know who and where the original owner was. The siblings arrived at the local prison where they were greeted personally by the warden.
"Come come! Step over the threshold. Welcome to Cairo Prison, my humble home!"
"You told me you found it on a dig down in Thebes!" Fluttershy quietly shouted at her brother
"Okay, I may have been mistaken." Zephyr Breeze said trying to calm his still furious younger sister
"You still lied to me!" Fluttershy said glaring at her brother
Yeah well, I lie to everybody Flutter Butter," Zephyr said with an uneasy grin. "What makes you so special?"
"I'm your sister."
"And that just makes you more gullible," Zephyr smirked as they followed the warden
"I picked his pocket, actually," Zephyr said nervously as he tried to pull his sister towards the exit. "So I don't believe that we should..."
"Just stop it Zephyr," Fluttershy said with anger. "We are going to find this man and that's the end of it"
"Now what exactly is this man imprisoned for?" Fluttershy asked the warden as he leaned on the bars.
"Well of this I'm not certain but when he arrived here, I asked him that myself." Rover said while waiting for the guards to arrive with the mentioned prisoner.
"Well what did he say?"
"He said: He was just looking for a good time!"
The interior cell door bursts open with the prisoner in chains, four guards dragged the man before they shove him into the cell bars. From the looks of it, he's been here awhile; his face is was half hidden by long unruly hair, a scraggly beard, and many new bruises. Fluttershy looks at him, disgusted by his appearance.
"This...This is the man you sto.." Fluttershy said only to be hushed by her brother
"Yes so why don't we go see if someone else has a box like that one," Zephyr said sheepishly in hopes his sister would listen to him
Discord gripped the bars as the guards forced him to his knees, the imprisoned man gives Fluttershy the once over and then looks at her brother.
"Who are you?" Discord asked with a smug grin. "And who's the broad?"
"Broad?!" Fluttershy muttered clearly insulted
"I'm just your everyday missionary chap spreading the good word and all that and this my sister," Zephyr said approaching the cell before dragging his sister closer
"H-Hello" Fluttershy greeted nervously
"Yeah? Well,... I'm sure she's not a total loss." Discord said with no remorse for his words
A stunned and furious Fluttershy starts to glare at the man. "I beg your pardon?" unfortunately a commotion in the prison drowned her out causing Rover to scream across the prison.
"I'll be back in a moment." Warden Rover said as he heads out the door.
"I tremble with anticipation of your massive return" Discord shouted with complete sarcasm
One of the Guards' clubs Discord across the head, and the man's face bounces off the metal bars. He however showed no pain, but just turned his head back and gave the Guard a nasty look. With the warden gone, Zephyr whispered to his sister to ask the man about the box
"We uh,... found..." Fluttershy glared at her brother before turning back to the chained man. "your puzzle box, and we've come to ask you about it."
"No," Discord said without hesitation
"No?" Fluttershy repeated
"No..." Discord said eyeing the siblings. "You came to ask me about Hamunaptra.
Fluttershy and her brother quickly looked around, hoping the guards didn't hear him. They step closer and lower their voices.
"How do you know the box pertains to Hamunaptra?" Fluttershy asked in a hushed tone
"Because that's where I found it," Discord said to the pink-haired woman. "I was there."
Fluttershy was utterly dumbstruck, however, her Brother just looked at the man with suspicion.
"And how do we know that's not a load of pig swallow?
Discord narrows his eyes as he gets a closer look at Zephyr. "Hey,... don't I know you?"
"Nope," Zephyr said quickly avoiding Discord's eyes."I just have one of those faces
Realization hit Discord as his fist flies through the bars and hits Zephyr square in the jaw, the blonde hits the floor as the chained man knocked him out cold. A Guard clubs Discord a second time and like last time, his head bounces off the bars.
Discord once again showed no pain, but gave the Guard another nasty look. Fluttershy looks down at her brother before looking back at the imprisoned man.
"You were actually at Hamunaptra?" Fluttershy asked as she stepped over her brother
"I just decked your brother," Discord said with a smile
"Knowing Zephyr he probably deserved it" Fluttershy said walking closer to Discord. "So were you there?"
"Yeah, I was there."
"Do you swear?"
"Every damn day." Discord said with sarcasm.
"No I meant that-"
"Yeah I know what you meant. Seti's place City of The Dead." The prisoner said with another sarcastic wave of his hands.
Fluttershy looks over her shoulder before spotting the warden approaching. "Could you tell me how to get there?" Fluttershy asked as she leaned closer to the man using her hat to hide her face from the warden. "As in The exact location?
"You want to know?" Discord asked in ernest
Fluttershy leans in even closer. "Yes,"
"You really want to know?" Discord asked in a lower hushed voice
The youngest sibling leaned her face right up to the bars, her face a mix of nervousness and excitement. "Please tell me"
Discord grabbed Fluttershy's chin and pulled her into a kiss. "Then get me the hell outta here!"
Fluttershy was left stunned as the Guards start to beat him with their clubs, however, he refused to let go of the bars. "Do it, lady!" Discord finally lets go of the bars as the guards drag him out of the room.
"Where are they taking him?" Fluttershy asked as the warden stood next to her
"To be hanged." Warden Rover said with a rather smug toothy grin showing off his rather large K9 teeth. "Apparently, he had a very good time."
Hundreds of filthy prisoners stare down onto the gallows as the hangman's noose is draped over Discord's head and cinched tight around his neck, Fluttershy followed the warden onto a balcony above the gallows.
"I will give you one hundred bits to spare his life," Fluttershy begged with urgency in her voice
"My dear, I would pay one hundred pounds just to see him hang." Warden Rover smiled as he watched the preperation
"Two hundred bit."
"Proceed!" Rover ordered
"Three hundred Bits!"
Unknown to the pair, Discord can hear every word, soon the finally wraps the noose around his neck before looking him in the eyes
"Any last requests, pig?" the hangman asked with a black-toothed smile
Yeah, I do" Discord said glaring at the hangman "Loosen the knot and let me go!"
The hangman looks at Rover and asks if he should let him go.
Rover was upset by the question. "Idiot! Of course, you don't let him go!"
The hangman slaps Discord on the back of his head.
"Four, four hundred bits!" Fluttershy begged.
"And what else? I'm a very lonely man."
SLAP!!
This was seen by all the prisoners, and each and every one of them started laughing. this in turn angered the warden to the point where the warden began to slobber in anger
"DROP HIM!" Warden Rover shouted
"NO!" Fluttershy screamed as the hangman pulled the lever dropping Discord
Much to the warden's displeasure, Discord was still alive the rope cut his fall short.
"Aha! this is better, his neck did not break" the warden laughed before turning to the pink-haired woman. "I'm so sorry my dear, but now we must watch him Strangle to death"
Discord's face was starting to turn red as the prisoners chanted that they cut him down
The Guards look around with nervous expressions as Discord struggles at the end of the rope, Fluttershy looks ahead horrified, she quickly turns to the warden and says something that will save the man's life
"He knows the location of Hamunaptra," Fluttershy said in a desperate panic
"...You lie!" Rover spat in accusation.
"I would NEVER!" Fluttershy said in outrage.
"Are you telling me this filthy...godless son of a pig knows where to find the city of the dead?!"
"Yes."
"Truly?!"
"Yes!" Fluttershy said as she saw Discord turning blue."And if you cut him down, we will give you ten percent.
"Fifty percent."
"Twenty." Fluttershy offered
"Forty."
"Thirty" Fluttershy offered as she notice Discords eyes started to roll into her head
"Twenty-five"
"Deal!" Fluttershy shouted causing the warden to look confused before realizing his mistake
"Ahh! Cut him Down!" Warden Rover ordered as his guard swiftly drew his sword and severed the rope holding Discord
Discord crashes to the ground, and the half-dead man Rolls over and began coughing as he tried to breathe. All of the prisoners burst into cheers, Discord looked up at Fluttershy.
"Thank [cough]you [cough]lady" Discord shouted in between coughs
After signing the usual paperwork and paying his bail, Fluttershy was finally able to acquire their guide for the journey to Hamunaptra.
"I admit this Discord guy is a bit rough around the edges but he doesn't seem like a bad guy, not a bad guy at all." Zephyr said while they waited outside the prison.
A scream rang out, and both siblings turned only to find Discord being thrown to the ground by two guards. Discord quickly jumped to his feet and glared at the guards.
"Yeah Fuck you Too!" Discord said looking around before turning back on the guards. "What about my stuff?"
The Guards glared as they dropped a large pack at the red-eyed man, discord picks up his stuffed before coming face to face with the siblings
"Thanks, lady" Discord said walking past Fluttershy. "Give me a week and I'll show you where you want to go"
"Where are you going?" Zephyr rubs his jaw
"I...am going to find a bar," Discord said not even bothering to look back. "I nearly died today, so I think I deserve a victory drink
~Days Later~
Candlelight flickers across the Curator's face, as he looked at the people in front of him
"As much as I hate to agree with you," Curator Neighsay said looking at the dark-clad figures before him. "You're right, She must die."
Standing in the shadows across from his desk are three members of the Medjai, One of the Medjai had a rusty metal hook for a hand.
"Why concern us with this woman." the hook medjai shrugged. "She will be like all the others. She will die in the desert."
"No! She has seen too much, She knows too much." The Curator leans across his desk, fear in his eyes. "Not only does she have a map, but she has the key."
This got a major reaction from the Medjai
"The key!?" the Medjai shouted in alarm. "She has the lost key!?"
"Yes," Neighsay said with a serious and worried tone in his voice. "Not once in the last three thousand years has anyone ever been so close." The Curator said to the Medjai. "We must stop her, or it will be the end of us all."
"Then we will kill her," the Medjai said in a cold tone as he dragged his finger across the blade of his hook. "We will kill her and all those with her."
"Honestly I don't care," Neighsay said with a wave of his hand. "Just burn the map and retrieve the key."
"It will be done." the Medjai began to leave before the hook-handed one turned back to the Curator. "But what of the American expedition? They leave tomorrow as well."
"Forget the bumbling Americans," Neighsay shouted. "They will be like all the others. Without the map to guide them, how can they possibly find Hamunaptra?"
Teams of explorers swarm around the docks as many of them board the large steamboat, Fluttershy and her brother walked along the boardwalk besieged by hawkers selling everything from toy tombs to King Tut action figures.
"Do you really think he'll show up?" Fluttershy asked as she lowered her bag beside her
"Undoubtedly, Flutter Butter," Zephyr said doing the same. "I know the breed, he maybe a cowboy, but his word is his word."
"Well Personally, I think he's filthy, rude, and a complete scoundrel," Fluttershy said with complete honesty. "I don't like him one bit."
"Anyone, I know?" Discord asked coming behind the siblings
They both turn and find a different man than the one they saved walking up, he was shaved, showered, spit and polished, with a new haircut and clothes. He looks more dashing and more handsome than ever, Fluttershy was at a loss for words at the change.
"Well being in prison tends to make you look like a filthy criminal" Discord grinned. "We never introduced ourselves, I'm Discord Chaos"
"I'm Fluttershy" Fluttershy said recomposing herself. "I believe you've already had the pleasure of meeting my brother Zephyr Breeze"
Discord eyed the pink-haired woman's older brother. "I have"
afraid of what the man would do, Zephyr grabbed Discord's arm and shakes his hand. "Smashing day for the start of an adventure, eh, Chaos?"
Once Zephyr let go, Discord quickly checks his pockets. "Yeah, sure, smashing." He finds his wallet and relaxes.
"You shouldn't worry" Zephyr nervously laughed. "I'd never steal from a partner" his laugh became more nervous the more time Discord stared at him.
"That reminds me," Discord said quickly raising his fist which caused Zephyr to cover his face in fear. "I'm sorry about the whole punching you thing," the man said causing Fluttershy's brother to relax. "No hard feelings?"
"As far as I'm concerned I probably deserved it," Zephyr said to the man with a pathetic grin. "happens more often than you think"
Fluttershy clears her throat in hopes of getting Discord's attention.
Mister Chaos, can you look me in the eye, and guarantee me this is not some sort of flimflam?" Fluttershy said before giving a glare to the man. "Because if it is, I'm warning you.."
Discord lets out a laugh before he steps up close to Fluttershy, invading her space Discord looked Fluttershy straight in the eye.
"You're warning me?" Discord let out another laugh. "Miss let me put it this way. My whole damn garrison believed in it so much, that without orders, we marched halfway across Libya and into Southern Equestria to find that city." the black-haired man then leaned closer to her. "And when we got there all we found was Sand and Blood"
"I'll get your bags," Discord said taking both Zephyr's and Fluttershy's bags before heading up the gangplank and onto the Steamboat.
Fluttershy couldn't help but track the man with her gaze, Zephyr just shrugs as he and Fluttershy move to board the boat.
"Yes, yes, you're right, filthy, rude, a complete scoundrel," Zephyr said as he gave a grin to his younger sister. "Nothing to like there at all."
Fluttershy gives him a look as her brother just grins,
"A bright good morning to all." a familiar voice called out surprising the siblings
"Oh no," Fluttershy gasped out as Warden Rover walked passed them. "What are you doing here?"
"I have come to protect my investment," Rover said walking up the blank leading to the boat. "Thank you very much."
The two siblings watch the large man go up the plank, Fluttershy and Zephyr share a look.
After being assigned their rooms, the explorers decided to take this time to relax on the boat when Discord came across Zephyr playing poker with another group of explorers.
"Ah Discord, sit down we could use another player."
"Oh no, I gamble with my life never my money." Discord politely turned down the offer when one of the Equestrians offered him a dare.
"Never? What if I was to bet you five hundred bits we get to Hamunaptra before you?"
"You're looking for Hamunaptra?" Discord asked in surprise.
"Damn straight we are."
"And who says we are?" Discord asked when they pointed to Zephyr.
"He does."
"Okay and what makes you think you'll get there before us?"
"Well we got us a man who's actually been there."
"Oh what a coincidence because-" Zephyr was suddenly hit by Discords bag signaling him to shut up before he spilled the beans.
"Gentlemen, we got ourselves a wager, good evening Zeph." He said before squeezing Zephyrs shoulder.
Later
Fluttershy was sitting next to the railing of the ship when all of the sudden a large bag was dropped in front of her and looked up to see Discord giving an almost apologetic look.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." He said with a friendly smirk while opening up his bag.
"The only thing that scares me mister Discord are your manners." Fluttershy said in a blunt manner.
"Still mad about that kiss huh?" Discord asked.
"Well if you can call that a kiss." Fluttershy replies when he suddenly flung his bag open to reveal an entire arsenal of firearms and explosives.
"Did I miss something are we...are we going into battle?"
"Lady there's something underneath that sand...something evil." Discord said after remembering what he witnessed all those years ago.
"The local tribes believe that Hamunaptra is cursed."
"Aren't you a little old to believe in ghost stories?" Fluttershy asked with a smile
"All I know is that there's something out there," Discord said to the woman across from him as he began to clean and maintain his guns. "Something...Evil...under that sand"
"Yes, I'm hoping to find a certain artifact, a book, actually," Fluttershy said with excitement in her voice. "My brother thinks there's treasure. What do you think is out there?"
Discord looks into Evelyn's eyes as he holstered one of the pistols. "To put it simply?" Discord said as he picked up the second revolver. "Evil." Discord narrowed his eyes as he set the weapon on the table. "A lot of people refer to Hamunaptra as "The Doorway to Hell."
"I don't believe in fairy tales and hokum, Mister Discord," Fluttershy said only to be cut off by the man across from her
"Just Discord will work," Discord said loading his revolver. "You saved my neck, quite literally, you can call me Discord," the man said as he set the gun down and began moving on to check another weapon. "Besides makes me sound old"
"Well as I was saying I believe that one of the most famous books in history is buried out there," Fluttershy said as the man could see literal stars in the woman's eyes. "The Book Amun-Ra: The Book Of The Living, it's said to hold all the secret incantations of the old kingdom" Discord picked up his shotgun as he pet almost all his effort into watching this woman's excitement grow. "It's what first interested me in Southern Equestria as a child. It's why I came here, sort of a life's pursuit."
"And the fact that they say it's made out of pure gold, makes no nevermind to you, right?" Discord asked shocking the woman across from him
"You know your history?" Fluttershy said with a smile
"I know my treasure," Discord said cocking the shotgun
Fluttershy gets up to go to her room but stops when she remembers the kiss
"Out of curiosity,... why did you kiss me?" Fluttershy asked slightly nervous
Discord just shrugs his shoulders. "I was about to be hanged, seemed like a good idea at the time."
Fluttershy's eyes widen, furious, she stands up and storms off to her room, Discord looks up with a confused look on his face as he watches her leave
"What?... What'd I say?" Discord asked, a bit perplexed
"OUCH!" A voice yelped when Discord saw a shadow sticking out from behind the luggage as he walked up and pulled out a very familiar face.
"AH! SURPRISE! My good friend, you're alive! I was so very very worried..."
"Well if it ain't my little buddy Bitty..." Discord smirked before suddenly pulling out his revolver. "I think I'll kill you."
"Think of my children!" Bitty said in an attempt to beg for his life.
"You don't have any children," Discord said pulling the hammer back on his weapon.
"Someday I might," Golden bit said in a weak tone
"Shut up!" Discord said jabbing the barrel into Golden Bit's chest. "So you're the one leading the Equestrians, I shoulda figured." Discord shook his head as he holstered his gun. "So what's the scam this time? You get 'em out in the middle of the desert then leave 'em to rot?"
"Unfortunately no, these Equestrians are smart," Golden Bit complained as he straightened out his clothing. "They pay me only half now, half when I get them back to Cairo, so I must go all the way."
"Yeah sucks to be you," Discord said with a half-amused smile on his face. "I should kill you for that shit you pulled but deep down I'm glad you're alive"
"You never believed in Hamunaptra, Discord," Bitty said to his old friend. "Why are you going back?"
Both 'Friends' turn their gaze toward the sound of the camels and horses, and both find Fluttershy feeding the animals with a pleased smile on her face.
"See her, Bitty?" Discord says as he watches her flee down the deck.
"The girl saved my life, figured it was the least I could do," Discord said scratching the back of his head. "You know, keep her out of trouble."
"You always did have more balls than brains." Golden bit laughed as he put a hand on Discord's shoulder
Discord's eyes narrow at the insult, and he looks back at Bitty before returning the laugh.
"Always got something to say" Discord laughed as he put his hand on Golden Bit's shoulder. "Let's make us even, shall we?"
"Even?" Golden bit raised an eyebrow in confusion as his 'Friend' tightened his grip
"Bye Bye Bitty" Discord grabbed a handful of Golden Bits clothing before chucking him over the side of the barge.
Golden Bit falls screaming into the river, Discord has a smile on his face as takes his gunny sack and starts walking off down the deck.
"Discord! I am going to kill you for this!" Bitty screamed from the river
"Sound familiar!" Discord shouted back
Before Discord could enjoy his much deserved revenge, he noticed a set of wet footprints on the deck and knew they couldn't have been Bitty's and saw they were headed straight for Fluttershy's room.
Fluttershy paced around her room wearing only a nightgown, her mind in a daze as she read from a book detailing the lost city of the dead.
"Rugh!" Fluttershy groaned as she stood in front of her mirror. "The kiss wasn't that good"
Pulling out her hair tie, Fluttershy lets her long pink hair fall down her back. Fluttershy started to brush her long hair when she accidentally dropped the book she was reading, the woman knelt down to pick it up only for a hand to grab her. Fluttershy couldn't even let out a scream as a hand covered her mouth, the man put a hook across her cheek before talking to her
"Where is the map?" the Medjai asked as he started to put pressure on his hook
Fluttershy's terrified eyes glance behind the man, the Medjai follows her gaze and spots the map next to a flickering candle on a nearby table.
"And what about the key?" the man moved his hook down to her neck. "Where is the key?"
Fluttershy's eyes look at the man with confusion, She shakes her head. "Key?..What key?"
"I'll guess I'll find it myself." the man cocks his hook, about to kill her.
Without warning the door is kicked open, Fluttershy smiles seeing Discord with a gun in each hand. "Fluttershy!" Discord said pointing his guns at the man who was now using Fluttershy as a shield. "Friend of yours?"
Discord's eyes flick to the candle as it was nearly put out by the wind, Discord turns to the windows as they burst open revealing another member of the Medjai. Discord immediately started shooting the Medjai, unfortunately, one of his shots hit the oil lantern on the wall which spilled onto the furniture and floor. The room was immediately engulfed in flames as Fluttershy quickly grabs a nearby candle on the table and jams it back over her shoulder, the candle hit the Medjai in his eye which causes him to scream in pain and let her go.
Discord grabs Fluttershy and yanks her out of the flaming room, they make it halfway down the hall before Fluttershy realized something.
"The map!" Fluttershy screamed as she tried to return to her room, however, Discord stops her and pushes her down the hall. "We need the map!"
"Relax! I'm the map!" Discord said tapping his temple. "It's all up here."
"Oh that's comforting," Fluttershy said with a little sarcasm in her worried voice
Back in Fluttershy's room, the Medjai held his wax-covered eye as he struggled to the door. Once at the door, his eyes widen as he spots the box the Zephyr had gave his sister lying just in front of the fire. Smiling the Medjai bends over to pick it up.
"Flutters!" Zephyr barrels in accidentally bumping into the Medjai
The momentum that Zephyr had threw the Medjai right into the fire, the Medjai screams in agony as the flames start to lick his skin and clothes.
Flinching back at the agony, Zephyr hastily goes to pick up his box. A flaming hook hits the box before the Medjai swiftly took the box away
Zephyr Breeze immediately turned away in fear and bolted out of his sister's room with speeds that would put a Sunbeam Automobile to shame.
Once outside, Discord grabbed his bag and handed it to Fluttershy. "Hold that a moment," Discord said as he peered out of the first corner and saw a number of Medjai shooting at the passengers of the ship.
One Medjai spotted him and started to shoot at him, Discord moved away from the corner as he rapidly started to reload his revolvers. As he was reloading, Bullets started to pierce the walls, with each shot getting closer to Discord's head. Fluttershy grabbed his shirt and jerked him to the side to avoid a fatal shot.
"Thank you again," Discord said pulling the hammer back on both guns. "Behind me please"
Discord rounded the corner and started to shoot the Medjai,
The two manage to make their way to the ship's railing as the flames began to spread.
"Can you swim?" Discord shouted over the screams of the passengers.
"Well of course I can swim if the occasion calls for it!" Fluttershy said before being swept off her feet.
"Trust me, it calls for it!"
Discord then dropped her into the river and was prepared to go after her until another of the medjai ambushed him and began beating him back, a fist fight ensued with discord coming out on top just as Rover ran up to him in a panic.
"Discord! DISCORD! What are we going to do?!? WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?!?"
"Wait here, I'll go get help!"
"Right!"
It wasn't until after Discord had jumped ship that the warden realized he had been duped.
"Arrrrgh! YALLAAAAAAH!!!"
Zephyr stopped at the bow of the ship in hopes of catching his breath, to his left the blonde saw three Equestrians having the time of their lives as they shot down any Medjai that crossed their paths.
Zephyr just shakes his head. "Equestrians"
Unfortunately for Zephyr the hook-handed Medjai followed after him, Zephyr's back hit the railing as the flaming Medjai raised his hook. The bleach-blonde Equestrian spots the Medjai before turning and opening fire, using his free hand to rapidly slam down on the hammer the Medjai is sent over the railing and into the Nile.
Jonathan turns to the Americans and smiles. "I say bloody good show Dumbbell!" Zephyr said as the equestrian reloaded his revolver. "And did I panic?" Zephyr asked holding up the ancient box. "I think not."
Zephyr soon let out a scream as the fire spread around him, without hesitation Zephyr as well as the Equestrians jumped ship and swam to the nearest shore
Discord, Fluttershy, Zephyr, and the Warden crawl out of the water and onto dry land, Fluttershy's nightgown clings tight to her body as she wrings it out.
"This...This is just great" Fluttershy complained. "No tools, No Equipment, No clothes, We've lost everything"
"Not Everything," Zephyr said flashing the box which only got a glare from his sister
"Hey, Discord!" Golden Bit shouted across the Nile. "It looks to me like I got all the horses!"
"Hey Bitty!!" Discord shouted with a wide smile "Looks to me like your on the wrong side of the river!"
Bitty looked around before letting out a curse realizing his 'Friend' was right
With the boat now lost, the explorers only option was to head to a nearby village to acquire some mounts and new equipment and clothes for Fluttershy. The warden was caught trying to peep and was immediately chased out by the ladies who were constantly slapping and shaming him before he finally got the message.
Zephyr on the other hand was busy arguing with the local camel merchant with Discord rolling his eyes as he tried to haggle for a better price.
"I only want four! Four not the whole bloody herd!" Zephyr argued with the merchant as he looked to Discord for help.
"Zephyr can you belie-"
"Will you just pay the man?!?" Discord shouted as Zephyr reluctantly handed over all his bits.
"Oh for Celestia's sake! I can't believe the price on these flea bags..."
"You know we probably could have gotten them for free," Discord says taking two on the camels. "All we had to do was give 'em your sister."
"Awfully," Discord said before spotting Fluttershy in a gorgeous, tightly fitted, Bedouin dress. "Then again..."
Half a day passed as Discord, Fluttershy, Zephyr, and the warden rode camelback through the endless, sunbaked desert. Discord took lead with Fluttershy following behind, her older brother behind her, and the warden -who was sloppily eating a massive turkey leg- rode in the rear.
"It'll take a few days" Discord called out to the others. "But sooner or later we'll reach the city"
"But why couldn't we find a horse?" Zephyr asked complaining about his current mode of transportation. "Never did like camels. Filthy buggers. They smell, they bite, they spit. Disgusting."
"Agreed," Warden Rover said savagely attacking his turkey leg. the large man sucks at his gums then spit out some gristle.
"Yeah...The camels the disgusting ones" Discord said quietly
Meanwhile, Fluttershy is having the time of her life on top of her camel. "Well, I think they're cute," Fluttershy said petting the top of the camel's head
Night falls as the moon shines down on four lone camel riders trekking across the vast wasteland, Zephyr is sound asleep, his head bobbing to the rhythm of his camel's steps. On the camel next to him, the Warden snores loud enough to wake the slumbering man. Irritated from having been woke up, Zephyr lifts his riding crop and smacks the Warden in the chest
"OI! No more goat soup!..." Warden Rover shouted as he hastily woke up
Up in front of them, Fluttershy slowly starts to slide off her saddle as her head lands on Discord's shoulder. Discord reaches over and stops her before gently pushing her back up onto her saddle, never waking her. For a long moment, his eyes watch the pink-haired woman. his gaze then shifted as he looks up at a distant ridge --
Like the last time he was in this area, he saw a cluster of cloaked riders watching his every move.
"He's returned" one Medjai turned to their leader. "I told you we should have killed him"
"If they discover either him or the book," Zecora said gripping the hilt of her Scimitar. "Then we take action"
Days later Discod and company had a reunion with the Equestrian Expedition, the Equestrians were accompanied by two dozen local diggers. Golden Bit rode in front of the group on a camel while the rest rode on the rescued horses.
"Good morning, my friend!" Golden Bit said to Discord
Camel rider barely acknowledges Golden Bit, both parties come to a stop a hundred feet apart. Discord turns and stares out across the endless horizon, his old friend Golden Bit does likewise. The Americans look at both of them puzzled.
"Well, what the hell we doin'?" the Dark haired equestrian asked the two with slight irritation
"Patience, Score, patience." Golden Bit said irritating the man further
"First one to the city, Chaos!" Dumbbell shouted with a wide grin. "Five hundred Silver Bits!" Dumbell then looked to their guide. "Hundred of them are yours if you help us win our bet"
"My pleasure" Golden Bit chuckled as he saw Discord's ride. "Nice Camel Discord"
"Whatever you say," Discord said as he and Bitty just stare out at the flat nothingness.
Fluttershy and Zephyr share a look as the sun starts to rise in the distance, breaking the flat horizon.
"Get ready," Discord said gripping the reigns
"For what?" Fluttershy asked in confusion
"We're about to be shown the way," Discord said pointing at the horizon
The sun began to move across the sky and as if by sandy winds of the Desert, the Lost City of the Dead was revealed.
"Can you believe it?" Dumbbell said in pure shock
"Hamunaptra" Score smiled at the sight of the lost city
"Sigh Here we go again" Discord sighed as the city and all its glory became fully visible
Withing seconds the race began as both parties speeded their mounts towards the city with Bitty and Discord in the lead followed by Zephyr and Fluttershy following behind. Trying to tip the odds in his favor, Bitty began whacking Discord with his riding crop several times before the old soldier finally had enough and grabbed him by the collar.
"Bye Bye Bitty!" Discord said before pulling him off his mount and sent him tumbling into the dirt.
"Serves you right!" Fluttershy said as she rode by.
Discord laughs as he and Fluttershy leave the others behind, both share a look as they race across the desert. Never before in her entire life has Fluttershy ever felt so alive, the Pink haired beauty lets out a laugh As Discord grins. Golden Bit stumbles to his feet, then quickly scurries out of the way as Zephyr and all the other riders stampede past him.
"Go Flutters Go!" Zephyr cheered his little sister as she raced ahead of Discord
Evelyn beats O'Connell to the stone ramp as she and her camel come to a stop, the woman smiles as she pets the camel's head. Discord stops next to Fluttershy with a big grin on his face.
"You sure this is your first time riding a camel?" Discord asked coyly
Before Fluttershy could answer the Equestrians rode up and looked disappointed at the races outcome, Discord turns to them and gave them a big, shit-eating grin.
"You boys owe me five hundred bits."
Under the guidance of the Egyptologist, the Diggers were busy hauling rock and dirt out of the Temple doorway. Two of the three Equestrians stood by the blue-haired Egyptologist, meanwhile the Chocolate brown-haired equestrian was looking around the piles of tools and luggage
"Hey, Hoops whatcha doing?" Score shouted to his friend
"I can't find my tools," Hoops shouted back pushing up his glasses
"Well they're around here somewhere," Score said with a shrug of his shoulders
"Hey Blueblood" Dumbbell called out, gaining the Egyptologist attention
Blueblood follows Dumbbell's gaze, the Professor scoffs as he sees Discord, Fluttershy, Zephyr Breeze, and the Warden working next to a narrow crevice, which weaves its way through the ruins.
"Do they know something we don't?"
"I Highly doubt it," Blueblood said with a grin. "They are led by a woman," Blueblood said taking a drink from his canteen. "What could a woman know about all this"
Across the ruins, Discord was fastening the rope around a pillar. With each go around, Discord made it a personal mission to whack the warden with the rope for payback for trying to kill him.
"That thing gives me the creeps," Zephyr said looking at the Dog-like statue as he cleaned a large mirror
"Be nice," Discord called out to the brother as he remembered how the raiders reacted to the statue. "That thing saved my life."
"That's the statue of Anubis: the God of Death," Fluttershy said with excitement in her voice. "It's said that the legs go deep underground" Fluttershy continued as she marveled at the ancient stone. "According to Celestial Scholars, That's where we'll find a secret compartment containing the fabled book of Amun-Ra."
As they prepared to enter the chasm, Discord approached Fluttershy but seemed a bit nervous while her brother was polishing what looked to be like some kind of mirror.
"Zephyr you're meant to catch the sun with that." She said to make sure her brother got the job done right.
"So uh...what's with these mirrors?" Discord asked while placing his hands at his side.
"Ancient mirrors, it's an ancient Egyptian trick you'll see." She smiled when she noticed him fidgeting behind his back.
"Oh uh I have a little gift from our Equestrian friends, a little something to help with your um..." He stammered while making it look like he was using a hammer and chisel before walking past the warden.
"What're you looking at?" He snapped while Rover simply backed off as Discord secured the rope around his waist.
"Hey! Look for bugs, I hate bugs..."
One by One the company of four rappelled down into the ruins, Fluttershy looked around in the dark with pure joy which was evident by her voice.
"You guys realize we are inside a room that hasn't been touched in over three-thousand years"
"Blimey" Zephyr said waving his hand around his nose. "It reeks in here"
Zephyr soon realized that it wasn't the room that smell, the moment the warden came down the smell got stronger.
"Oh.." Zephyr said calmly before looking at the wardens. "Don't worry about the bugs old boy"
'They'll be more afraid of your smell'
"It's dark in here" the warden barked. "How are we going to find the treasure!"
"Be patient you old dog" Fluttershy said dusting off an ancient mirror before tilting it upward to catch the light of the surface. "And then there was light"
In a instant, the sun's reflection beamed off the other mirrors and brought light to the entire room, suffice it to say Discord was mildly impressed.
"That is a neat trick," Discord said pulling off a torch from the wall
The black-haired man pulled out a light and ignited the torch, Zephyr and Rover came over a second later to light their own torches from Discords. All three Men looked at the woman who had stars in her eyes as she looked around.
"Sweet Celestia," Fluttershy gasped yanking her brother's torch from his hand "It's a preparation room."
"Preparation for what?" Discord asked
"For entering the afterlife," Fluttershy said that sounded like she was telling a horror story on Nightmare Night
Immediately Discord draws one of his guns, however a chuckle pulls his attention
"Mummies, my good friend," Zephyr said with a know-it-all grin "this is where they made the mummies."
Discord looked at Zephyr with a look of surprise.
"What?" Zephyr shouted at the gunman. "My Sister isn't the only smart one"
"Guys this way" Fluttershy motioned as she heads down a narrow passageway.
All four had to slightly crouch as they make their way through a narrow, cobweb-infested passageway, then out of nowhere they hear something and freeze. It sounds like somebody is clawing inside the walls, They all start to look around frantically but to no avail. The strange sound getting louder and louder. And then it stops.
"What was that?" Zephyr asked
"It sounds like..." Discord smiled as he thought about the sound. "Bugs"
"What?" Warden Rover asked panic in his voice
"He said it sounds like Bugs" Fluttershy repeated causing the Warden to look around frantically.
"What do you mean by bugs, I hate Bugs!"
The group of four continued their journey through the dimly lit tunnels with Discord in the lead till finally they reached their destination which was the base of Anubis's statue.
"The legs of Anubis. The secret compartment should be hidden somewhere inside here." Fluttershy said with nervous excitement as she approached the statue.
Suddenly there was the sound of scraping rock followed vy the sound of moaning that made the group of four jump and the men of the party draw and ready their firearms.
The moans became louder and turned into muttering voices that were coming from the other side of the statue.
The four sat there mentally preparing themselves before they moved out of their cover guns at the ready only to come face to face with the Equestrian Expadition who had their own firearms aimed at the group but once everyone recognized the other they let out a sigh of relief.
"You scared the bejesus out of us Discord." Dumbell said as he and his colleagues lowered their guns.
"Likewise." Discord said as he lowered his guns along with Zephyr and Rover.
"Hey, that's my tool kit." Hoops said as he noticed the tool bag Fluttershy was carrying and stepped forward to reclaim it.
"No, I don't think so." Discord said as he raised his guns at Hoops causing everyone to aim their own guns at the opposing party.
"Okay. Perhaps I was mistaken." Hoops said as stepped back causing everyone to lower their guns.
"Well have a nice day, gentleman. We have a lot of work to be getting along with." Fluttershy said politely.
"Push off! This is our dig site." Blueblood spat.
"We got here first." Fluttershy countered while glaring at the Egyptoligist.
Once again both parties raised their guns at the rival expedition.
"This here is our statue, friend." Score stated with gritted teeth.
"I don't see your name written on it, pal." Discord counted.
"Yes, well, there is only four of you and fifteen of me. Your odds are not so great, Discord." Bitty said but Discord responded by aiming one of his revolvers at Bitty and pulling back on the hammer.
"I've had worse." Discord stated.
"Yeah, me, too." Zephyr said trying to sound tough but Discord just looked him transmitting a silent message that said 'shut up' which Zephyr understood by nodding.
"Oh, for goodness' sake, let's be nice, children." Fluttershy said stepping forward to resolve the situation without bloodshed by prompting everyone to lower their guns. "If we're going to play together, we must learn to share. There are other places to dig."
Listening and looking at Fluttershy Discord got the silent message and smiled and nodded to the Equestrian group before holstering his guns.
Deeper into the temple, Discord, and Zephyr were using sledgehammers to hammer away the stone of the ceiling.
"According to my calculations," Fluttershy said pacing behind the men. "We should be right under the statue"
"IF your calculations are right," Zephyr said with a hint of sarcasm
"Once those filthy Equestrians go to sleep," Fluttershy said before turning to Discord. "No offense."
"None taken."
"We'll come up right between his legs," Fluttershy said before she realized what she had said which caused her to blush and laughed. "Oh my."
"We'll sneak up and steal that golden book right out from under them," Zephyr said hammering away at the stone with newfound vigor.
"And you're sure you can find the secret compartment?" Discord asked the pink-haired woman
"Positive, if their moronic Egyptologist hasn't already found it."
Zephyr lowered his hammer when he looked around and took notice of someone in their group missing
"Hey," Zephyr said earning the attention of his sister and the Gunman. "Have either of you seen where our smelly little friend went?"
With a torch in hand, Warden Rover exploded the passageways of the ruins until he stops at something that catches his eye. The Warden stares at a mural engraved on the wall, the mural showed a man screaming with numerous dots covering his body. Embedded into it the mural was dozens of black amethyst scarabs, they glittered as they resembled images of the sacred beetles. Awestruck, the Warden stabs his torch into the sand before he pulls out a pocket knife and pries away at one of the precious bugs.
"That's more like it" Rover grinned as he pulled off one of the jewels and placed it into his satchel. "These will fetch a fair price back home"
in a gloating manner, the warden mimicked the mural and let out an ululating shout.
While the warden was collecting his strange treasure, Blueblood and his team immediately got to work on trying to pry open the statue as Hoops picked up a crowbar.
"Let's get us some treasure!"
"CAREFUL!!" The egyptologist said, stopping him immediately.
"Seti was no fool. I think we should let the diggers open it yes?"
"Whatever you say," Hoops says with irritation as he tossed the bar to one of the diggers. "You are the brains after all"
The Diggers make no move to open the compartment, for a good couple of minutes pass before Score lets out a groan and pulls out his gun. Three Diggers hesitantly step forward with crowbars and stick them into the seams of the statue. The other Diggers back away scared shitless.
With Blueblood urging them on, the explorers could see the compartment starting to wedge free.
"This is it boys!" Score said while rubbing his hands in anticipation.
"Harder!" Blueblood said after seeing their workers were struggling to pull it loose.
"I can smell the money already." Dumbbell grinned while fiddling with his guns.
"Harder!!" Blueblood shouted again before seeing the compartment was almost opened.
"HARDER!!!"
FWOOSH!!!
A white vapor floods out of the compartment covering all three diggers, the diggers scream in horror and agony as their flesh melts off their body. All in the room scream and back away as the unfortunate diggers stagger back revealing their horrid fate, by the time they hit the ground all that was left was half-eaten skeletons.
Score looked to Hoops. "You want to open it now?" he said with sarcasm
"I..Think I'll let the professor handle it"
Fluttershy's group was about to have their own misfortune as Rover kept plucking the jeweled scarabs from the wall.
"Oh Allah." he said to himself as one fell out of his bag and a living scarab suddenly popped out from the jewel. As the fiendish insect sniffed the air, its buggy eyes suddenly fell on Rover and it immediately went to work on chewing through his boot and into his foot as the warden suddenly felt it crawling up his leg.
The Warden's eyes fly open as he feels something crawling under his skin, Rover starts to scream as he drops his knife and frantically starts clawing away at his pant leg,
"GET OUT!" Warden Rover screamed as his hands traveled higher and higher on his leg. "GET OUT!!"
The large man felt the pain travel to his upper body which caused him to rip open his shirt revealing a large, hideous lump, burrowing under his skin. It burrowed its way up his fat belly and across his hairy chest, The Warden frantically claws and scratches at it in hopes of stopping it. The lump burrowed up to his neck which earned a blood-curdling scream from the warden, and to Rover's absolute horror, the scarab burrowed into his head.
Discord and Zephyr decided to take a break from breaking apart the ceiling, Zephyr was using one of the sledgehammers to hit small pebbles while his sister explained mummification to Discord.
"So lemme get this straight," Discord asked with slight discomfort. These guys rip out your organs and cram them into jars?
"They also cut out your heart," Fluttershy said with an ever-present smile. "And to get at your brain, they stuck a sharp, red hot poker up your nose, scramble your gray matter, and ripped it all out through your nostrils?
"OWCH!" Discord gasped out as he rubbed his nose. "That's really got to hurt."
"It's called mummification," Fluttershy said Matter-of-factly. "You're dead when they do this"
"Still..." Zephyr said launching a pebble down one of the passageways. "It sounds quite Painful"
"Yeah," the black-haired man agreed. "Something like that would probably bring you back to life."
Discord and Zephyr share a laugh as Fluttershy pouted at their lack of interest. "You two are worse than a couple of schoolboys."
"Come on Flutter Butter we're only having a little fun" Zephyr swung the hammer only to lose his grip causing it to fly behind him and hit the ceiling
Without warning a huge chunk of the roof suddenly gives out, Discord grabs Fluttershy and jerked her clear. Zephyr dives for the far wall as a massive stone sarcophagus crashes to the ground in front of Discord and Fluttershy, once the dust settles all three couldn't help but stare in awe at what had appeared before them.
"Sweet Celestia" Fluttershy whispered as she approached the stone coffin. "It's a sarcophagus" the pink-haired woman looked up and saw what looked like the base of the Anubis statue. "Buried at the base of...Anubis"
"That means something, Flutters?"
"It means this person was either someone of great importance" Fluttershy then looked to Discord. "Or he did something very naughty"
Fluttershy uses a brush from her tools to clear the dirt off the top of the sarcophagus, which revealed several ominous hieroglyphs that made Fluttershy tense up.
"Well, Fluttershy?..." Zephyr asked as he impatiently strums his fingers across the lid. "Who was our dear departed friend?
Fluttershy stares at the hieroglyph, confused and concerned. 'The Nameless Monster who walks Among the Unspoken'
"Spooky," Discord said blowing more of the dirt off the sarcophagus revealing star shaped groove that had a scarab image inside. "And that looks like some kind of lock"
"Whoever's in here, sure wasn't getting out," Zephyr said
"No kiddin'," Discord said tapping the lock. "And without the key, it'll take us a month to crack this thing,"
"A key?.... That's it!" Fluttershy exclaimed as she moved away from the sarcophagus and began to rummage through her brother's bag. "That's what he was talking about!"
"Who was talking about what now?" Discord asked with a raised eyebrow
"The man on the barge, The one with the hook," Fluttershy said approaching the sarcophagus with the box in hand. "He was looking for a key."
Positioning her fingers like before, the box opens up as Fluttershy now took notice of the similarities between the box and the sarcophagus.
"Hey, that's mine!" Zephyr says trying to take back the box
Fluttershy slaps his hand before placing the box into the lock. "It was never a puzzle, it was actually a key"
Fluttershy was about to turn the key when all three heard the Warden's screams echoing through the labyrinth, Discord draws his guns as all three of them turn and take off running. Zephyr rapidly stops in his tracks before turning to the sarcophagus and taking the key from the lock.
"AHHH!! AAAAAHH!!!" Rover came screaming down the corridor, past the group as if he was running from something all while his eyes were closed and without warning he ran head first into the wall at full speed.
"What was that about?" Zephyr said as Discord rushed over to check for a pulse.
"....he's dead."
At their camp, Fluttershy and Zephyr were talking while Discord finished burying the Warden.
"He didn't deserve to die here" Discord muttered to himself as he headed back to camp.
"Do either of you know how he died?" Fluttershy asked the two. "A collision like that should have knocked him out not killed him."
"Did you ever see what and how he ate" Zephyr laughed as he tried to push away the fact someone just died
"Well, we weren't the only ones who lost someone," Discord said picking up his shotgun before loading in the shells. "Seems the Equestrians had a little mishap of their own today, three of their diggers were killed."
"How?" Fluttershy asked
"Salt acid," Discord said to the Pink-haired woman. "Pressurized salt acid, it was some sort of ancient booby-trap."
"Maybe this place really is cursed," Zephyr said throwing a stone into the fire
A heavy gust of wind blows through the camp, and the campfire flickers as Discord and Zephyr Breeze share a nervous look.
"Oh for goodness sake!" Fluttershy shouted at her brother and Discord
"What you don't believe in curses, huh?" Discord said poking at the fire with a stick
"No, I don't," Fluttershy said with certainty. "I believe if I can see it and I can touch it, then it's real. That's what I believe" Fluttershy then looked to the gunman. "And what do you believe in, Discord"
"I believe in being prepared," Discord said cocks his weapon
"Let's see what are old friend the Warden believed in," Zephyr said rummaging through the warden's satchel
"OW!!"
"AHH!!" Fluttershy yelped while Discord grabbed his pistol.
"What?!?"
"Huh it's a broken bottle." Zephyr said as they all gave a sigh of relief while he pulled out the bottle.
"I'll be! Real vintage and twelve years old! He may have been a smelly fellow but he had good taste." He said with a smile before removing the cork to take a quick swig.
Discord turned his head in the direction of the gunfire coming from the Equestrian's camp, the black-haired man jumps up and throws the Shotgun at Fluttershy.
"Take that and stay here!" Discord said running in the direction of the other camp
"Wait for me," Fluttershy said as she gets up and runs after him.
"Flutters! Excuse me!" Zephyr shouted as he dashed after her. "But didn't the man just say Stay here!"
At the Equestrian's camp, hordes of horsebound Medjai storm the camp. Many of the diggers and help were killed by either the Medjai's rifles or swords, Blueblood starts to run for cover as he calls for help.
"Dumbbell!" Blueblood screamed. "Wake up and start shooting!!"
Within moments, the entire camp was turned into a battleground as the raiders attacked from all sides with both expedition crews firing in all directions, Fluttershy was lucky enough to get a shot off but was knocked to the ground by the recoil of her gun while Zephyr posted himself behind a fallen pillar and began picking off any raider that got near him while taking a few swigs of wine.
His fun was interrupted when Bitty rushed in out of nowhere to take a few gulps before he heard the sound of hoofsteps charging towards them.
"YALLLAAAAAAH!!!" A female voice shouted as Bitty sputtered his drink and left Zephyr to be chased down.
"AAAH! DIIISCOOORRRD!!"
Discord runs up on top of some rocks before leaping out and tackling the woman off her horse, The two slam to the ground as the woman raises her sword. Discord spins up onto one knee and fires his pistol which blows the scimitar out of Zecora's hand, the gunman was about to shoot again when a horse rides up between them. Discord shoots the rider before pointing at the female Medjai, unfortunately, another scimitar swoops down and knocks the gun from his hands. The second swing almost took Discord's head off, and the black-haired man backed away causing the blade to miss him by an inch, Disarmed, Discord dives and rolled before he pulls out a stick of dynamite from his belt. The gunman shoves the fuse into a fire causing it to burst into flames, Discord faces the mohawked woman, The two of them lock eyes as the fuse continues to burn down.
"ENOUGH!!" Zecora shouted as every ceased their fighting. "We'll shed no more blood," The Medjai said sheathing her sword. "But you must leave this place! leave this place or die!" the Female Medjai jumped onto the horse of one of her deceased comrades before riding off. "You have one day!"
Zecora rode off the ruins before the remaining Mumia Riders raced after her, a good minute passes as the last of them vanish into the night. Discord turned his attention to the burning fuse before ripping it out. Stuffing the dynamite in his belt, Discord moved to help Fluttershy back to her feet.
"Are you okay?" Discord asked checking for any injuries.
"I...I'm fine"
"See that PROVES it! old Seti's fortune's gotta be under this sand!" Dumbbell said as they rode off.
"For them to guard it like this, you know there's gotta be treasure here." Scores added but Discord seemed unconvinced.
"No these are a desert people. They value water not gold."
"You know...I was uh thinking that tonight we um...combine forces." Hoops said with half his face covered in shaving cream.
Once everything calms down, everyone turns in for the night. Currently, Fluttershy and Discord were sharing the wine, both were standing in front of the fire with their arms up.
"Alright now ball up your fist and drive it home" Discord encouraged by tapping the palm of his hand. "And mean it"
"Drive it home and mean it!" Fluttershy slurred as she punched Discord's hand before tripping and fell into his arms
Both started laughing as they sat down next to the fire. "Alright time for another drink" Discord laughed in a joking manner
"Unlike you mister Discord, I know...when to say no." Fluttershy said before taking another swig.
"I can see that," Discord said looking at the beauty in front of him. "But Unlike your brother, Miss, you I don't get."
"I know," Fluttershy said taking another drink. "You're wondering, what's a place like me doing in a girl like this?"
"Something like that."
"Southern Equestria is in my blood," Fluttershy said as she placed the bottle back in her brother's arms. "My father was a famous explorer, he loved it so much that he married a Southern Equestrian. My mother! Who was quite an adventurer herself"
"Okay, I get your father, I get your mother and I get your brother," Discord motioned to the sleeping blonde before turning back to Fluttershy. "but what are you doing here?"
"Ohh listen here!" Fluttershy said while wobbly standing up.
"I may not be a...scholar, an explorer, a treasure hunter or a GUNFIGHTER mister Discord but I am PROUD of what I am!"
"And what would that be?" Discord said with an amused smirk.
"I....Am a Librarian!"
Fluttershy plops back to the ground as she leans in, very close to discords face, and looks him in the eyes,
"I'm going to kiss you, Mister," Fluttershy said to the gunman
"Just Call me Discord" the man smiled
Fluttershy gives him a goofy smile as she leans forward, unfortunately, her eyes slowly close as her head hits the man's shoulder.
"Goodnight, my dear" Discord said sarcastically as he laid her down
The net day, the explorers resumed their work with Blueblood and his crew returning to the statue of Anubis to find a chest concealed by a cloth but before they could open it they were stopped when Blueblood noticed the hieroglyphics on the cover.
"There is a curse upon this chest." He said in astonishment but Dumbbell and his crew were unamused.
"Curse my ass." Hoops said.
"Yeah, who cares?" Scores said but was given a finger wag by Blueblood.
"Have a care my boy, in these hallowed grounds it's as strong today as it was then."
"Alright, alright. What's it say?"
The Professor slowly and carefully reads the inscription. "Death will come on swift wings to whomever opens this chest".
A Gust of wind blows through the chamber causing the torches to flicker violently, fear strikes the remaining Diggers as they suddenly turn tail and run off screaming.
The Equestrians look at each other with very nervous expressions on their face.
"We shouldn't be here," Golden Bit said as he looked around with his gun in his hand
"It says...." Blueblood swallowed as he continued to translate the inscription. "There is one, the undead, which if brought back to life, is bound by sacred law to consummate this curse.
"Yeah, well, let's just make sure we don't bring anybody back from the dead then, huh?" Score said causing his friends to let out a small chuckle
"He will kill all who open this chest," the professor becoming more nervous. "...and assimilate their organs and fluids, And in so doing he will regenerate. And no longer be the undead, but a plague upon this earth."
Hearing this Golden Bit starts to back away from the chest and towards the exit.
"Ah hell, let's open it anyways," Dumbbell said as he and Score start to pry the chest open
"Be-Beware" Bitty muttered causing everyone to look at him. "The Curse..." Golden Bit then turned and ran out of the room screaming. "Beware of the curse!!!"
"Stupid superstitious bastard." Score said as the Equestrians get back to work on the chest
it took a little bit of elbow grease, but the lid of the chest came off. However a black vapor blasts out covering everyone in the room.
Just below the statue, Fluttershy was excited after they finally found a way to open the sarcophagus and propped it up with Zephyr struggling to turn the lock.
"Ooh I've been dreaming about this since I was a little girl!"
"You dream about dead guys?" Discord asked while Zephyr kept turning the key.
"Look, even sacred spells were chiseled on! now this man was not only condemned in this life but in the next."
"Wow, tough break."
"Yes, I'm all tears!" Zephyr grunted before finally hearing the lock click.
"let's see who's inside shall we?"
After some effort the two finally managed to pry the lid off when white vapors suddenly blinded them and the corpse of Sombra suddenly sprang out as if to attack.
"AAAAAAHHHHH!!!" They all screamed while jumping back.
"Oh gods, I HATE it when these things do that!" Fluttershy said when Discord noticed their mummy seemed a little odd.
"Is he supposed to look like that?" He asked after getting a second look at the corpse.
"No I've never seen a mummy like this he looks still...still..."
"Juicy." They all said in unison.
"Yes.... this man is more than three thousand years old and yet he looks likes he's still..." Fluttershy said giving the corpse a once-over. "..decomposing."
"And look at this," Discord said moving away from the corpse and toward the lid
Fluttershy follows the gunman and gasps in surprise as she sees fingernail scratches and dried blood all over the inside.
"What do you make of this, Flutters?"
"Sweet Celestia!!" Fluttershy gasped out as she traced her hand along the inside of the coffin. "These marks were made with...." Fluttershy used her nails to trace the marks. "Fingernails..."
"Oh my god, This man was buried alive," Fluttershy said as she noticed something else in the coffin. "He..he left a message..." The pink-haired woman leaned in closer as she translated hieratics. "It says: 'Death is only the beginning.'"
Zephyr shivers as Discord looks around. "Where's my gun?"
"What are you going to do? Shoot him?" Zephyr asked with a hint of Sarcasm
"If he decides to wake up, hell yes!"
All three couldn't help but stare at the corpse with unease.
The vapor is settled revealing the Equestrians were checking every inch of their bodies, all four of them let out a sigh of relief when they saw nothing happened to them.
"Thank god," Hoops said pushing his glasses up. "I thought it was another Salt Acid trap"
The Professor slowly steps up before reaching inside and lifting a heavy burlap bag, Everyone's eyes widen in excitement as he sticks his hand into the bag and slowly pulls out a large black book with a scarab insignia
"Oh my god, it does exist!" the professor said removing the book from the chest. "The Black Book of the Dead"
"A book?! We didn't come out here for some damn book!" Score shouted in anger. "Where's the treasure?"
"This...my good gentlemen Is treasure," Blueblood said in awe as he looked over the sealed book
"Well, I wouldn't trade you jackshit for that," Dumbbell said kicking the chest
The kick caused the front of the chest to break open, unfolding to reveal a secret compartment. Inside, are five jewel-encrusted jars however one of the jars was broken. all four knelt down to look inside and all four shared a similar smile.
"You wanted treasure gentlemen," the professor said taking one of the jars. "then take your treasure"
Back at the campsite, Fluttershy was heading toward the area where her brother and Discord were at. On her way She found Blueblood trying to pry open the Book of the Dead. the professor spotted her and immediately stopped his struggle.
"What do you want?" Blueblood asked with irritation.
"I believe you need a key to open that," Fluttershy said moving on as the professor let out a groan.
Sitting in front of a fire were Discord, Golden Bit, and Zephyr, the other Equestrians sat down across from them as they flaunted their treasure.
"Say Discord, whaddya think these babies fetch back home?" Dumbbell gloated as he waved his jeweled jar in the black-haired man's face
"Meanwhile We hear you gentlemen found yourselves a nice gooey mummy," Hoops said running his fingers over the jewels. "Congratulations."
"Ya know if ya dry him out, you can sell him for firewood." Score laughed as he set his jar at his feet
The Equestrians continued to laugh as Fluttershy walked up.
"Look what I found!" Fluttershy called out as Discord turned to Golden Bit.
"You're in her seat," Discord said sternly which caused his 'Friend' to chuckle a bit. "Now Bitty"
"Scarab skeletons, flesh eaters. I found them inside our friends coffin." Fluttershy then began showing them the fossilized insects as she explained their biology.
"They can stay alive for years feasting off the flesh of a corpse but unfortunately for our friend, he was still alive when they started eating him."
"So somebody threw this in with our guy and they slowly ate him alive?" Discord asked in disbelief.
"VERY slowly."
"Whew, not exactly a popular fellow was he?" Zephyr said while throwing another wood on the fire.
"No, probably got a little too frisky with the Pharaoh's daughter." Discord joked.
"Well according to my findings, our friend suffered the Hom-Dai," Fluttershy stated as she continued to fiddle with the skeletons. "It was the worst of all ancient Egyptian curses, one reserved for only the most evil blasphemers." the woman spoke with a more serious tone as she continued to talk about the curse. "In all of my research, I've never read of this curse actually having been performed."
"That bad huh?" Discord asked with a raised eyebrow
"Yes, they never used it because they feared it so," Fluttershy said as she explain what she knew of this particular curse. "It's written, that if a victim of the Hom-Dai should ever arise, he would bring with him the ten plagues of Southern Equestria."
the woman ended her explanation with a foreboding glare
Once everyone was fast asleep, Fluttershy started moving through the camp until she spotted the Equestrian professor. His jeweled canopic jar was snug under one arm, the Book Of The Dead laying loose under the other. Fluttershy stares at the Book as she nervously bites her lip, the pink-haired woman sneaks over and carefully pries it out of the Equestrian's arm before quickly tip-toeing away.
Moving back to their side of camp, Fluttershy passes Discord who was sleeping soundly with a shotgun firmly in his hands. Despite his eyes closed, Discord knew exactly what the woman was doing.
"That's called stealing, you know?" Discord said opening his eyes
"Well according to you and my brother," Fluttershy said as she fished the key out of her brother's pocket. "I'm not stealing, I'm borrowing"
"I thought the Book of Amun-Ra was made out of gold?" Discord asked as he knelt down next to the woman.
"It is made out of gold" Fluttershy confirmed as she started to unlock the key. "This isn't the Book Amun-Ra, I believe this the Book of the Dead"
"The Book of the Dead?" Discord asked as Fluttershy placed the key in the lock. "And you sure you outta be playing around with that?"
It's just a book," the pink-haired woman brushed off Discord's comment as she unlocked the book. "No harm ever came from a book."
Fluttershy flips open the book and immediately a gust of wind blows nearly extinguishing the fire.
Fluttershy and Discord share a nervous look. "That happens a lot around here"
Fluttershy shrugs and starts reading. "Amun-Ra. Amun-Dei."
"Translation, please?"
"it talks about the Night and Day," Fluttershy said as she continued to read the ancient writings out loud. "Sooaihatorp, Itsyatbiya, Imasotp, Picesuay Yatoay, Yatoay, Yatoay"
Even though she was nowhere near the temple, her echoing voice sang within the temple walls.
"NOOO!!" Blueblood screamed after hearing the incantation.
"YOU MUST NOT READ FROM THE BOOK!!"
Before they could process his sudden outburst, a howling wind began blowing through the city and even startled Bitty from his sleep. In the distance they could hear a strange buzzing sound and from the darkness a swarm of locusts descended onto the camp, scattering the workers in a panicked frenzy with Fluttershy dropping the book as Discord lead her down one of the tunnels to escape the swarm along with Zephyr.
"What have we done...." Blueblood said as he held the book close to his chest, ignoring the insects now crawling all over him.
Inside the Temple, The Equestrians were running down the pathway as they were screaming their heads off.
"Where the hell did they come from?!" Score screamed out following behind his friend.
"I'm not sticking around to find out" Dumbbell screamed out as he hauled ass through the temple.
Unfortunately in their panicked state, no one noticed when Hoops tripped and fell to the ground which caused his glasses to fall off.
"Oh not now!" Hoops said as he started feeling around for his glasses
"Leave me! LEAVE! ME!!" Bitty shouted as he flung the bugs off his blanket.
"Hey! Can you help me find my-!"
CRACK!
Hoops was instantly stunned the moment he heard his glasses being crunched under Bitty's foot as the coward grabbed his torch and left him alone in the now dark corridor.
"WAIT FOR MEE!!"
Without any other choice, Hoops stumbled around in the dark hoping to catch up to the others until he heard a voice echoing in the tunnels.
"Who's there?" He shouted before hearing the noise again and drawing his gun.
"WHO'S THERE?!?"
Without his glasses, all he could see was a blurred figure of who he thought was one of his friends but as quickly as it appeared it vanished, leaving him trembling in fear until he felt something breathing on his neck and smelled something rotten.
Groowwlll...
Hoop's eyes widen as he slowly turns around, standing in front of him was the walking corpse of Sombra. Hoops immediately starts to scream as a skeletal hand forces its way into his mouth, the Equestrian continued to scream as the corpse grabbed hold of his tongue.
In another part of the Temple ruins Discord and company came to a fork in the path when the entire temple started to shake violently.
"Do we want to know what caused that tremor?" Zephyr asked as he clung to his sister.
Before someone could answer, all three turned their attention to the growing mound that was rising from the sands. once the mound reached its peak, hundreds of chittering scarab beetles erupt from the sand before scurrying toward the trio.
"SCARABS!!" Fluttershy screamed as she pulled her brother away from the flesh-eaters. "Run!"
"Don't have to tell me twice!" Discord said as all three turn around and haul ass.
In an attempt to slow them down, Discord hurled his torch and the scurrying insects and fired off a few rounds but that only seemed to aggravate them even more as they were chased up a ramp and managed to escape by leaping onto some nearby ledges. As the scarabs began to leave, Fluttershy accidentally pressed a hidden switch and was suddenly flipped to the other side of the wall.
"Fluttershy?" Discord called out when they noticed she was gone.
"Flutters?" Zephyr called out for his sister as he began to panic.
"Fluttershy!"
"Flutters?!"
Fluttershy wanders aimlessly around a darkened room, the woman feels her way along the dark walls until she rounds a corner and spots a shaft of moonlight. Standing in the moonlight was a man Fluttershy recognized as one of the Equestrians
Oh thank goodness," Fluttershy said walking toward the equestrian "Mr. Hoops I'm glad I found you, I was starting to get scared"
Just as she reaches him he turns around revealing his eyes were carved out of his skull, Fluttershy screams in horror and backs away.
"My eyes" Hoops gagged out
Fluttershy turned to get help, however, she ran into a very familiar corpse which was now sporting two fresh eyeballs in his sockets.
The pink-haired woman lets out a louder scream as she backs away into a wall, desperation hit her as the mummy slowly walked toward her.
"Pl..please help me" Fluttershy meekly muttered to the fallen and wounded man.
"My tongue...." Hoops groan as he was crawling away from the two. "He took my tongue!"
"Please don't leave me!" Fluttershy begged as the mummy turned his gaze back to the woman enticing a yelp
"Chrysalis?" the mummy said in his native tongue
"DANG IT! It's a trap door!" Discord said as he tried to push the wall open.
"There's gotta be a switch somewhere."
Just as he began tapping the wall, Dumbbells crew suddenly came rushing down the ramp in a fright.
"AAAH RUN YOU SONS OF BITCHES!! RUN!!!"
"Go..." Discord said to Zephyr as they heard the familiar skittering of the scarab swarm and made a break for it. One of the workers however was not so fortunate as he tripped and tried to crawl away.
"Help me! AAAH!! AHHH!!" The worker screamed before he was suddenly reduced to a steaming skeleton with very few bits of flesh left on his body.
The walking corpse continued to step toward Fluttershy with a hand beckoning her to join his side. "Kadeesh pharos Chrysalis!" 'Come with me my Princess Chrysalis'
Fluttershy shivers in fear as Discord passed the doorway and spotted her, the black-haired man stops and runs right up to her.
"There you are!" Discord said grabbing her arm. "Will you quit playing hide & seek? we need to get out of here"
Discord notices the fearful look in her eyes and turns around.
"WHOA!" Discord screamed as jumps back in fright.
Discord and Fluttershy start backing away down the wall as the Mummy stopped toward the gunman but before he could get close Zephyr and the Equestrians run into the room.
"Flutters!" Zephyr said before spotting the mummy and dropping his torch. "Holy Shit!!"
The Mummy glared at the trio before turning back to Discord and Fluttershy, his skinless mouth stretches to an inhuman size as he lets out a horrific, primordial shriek
"Ahhhhhhhh!!" Discord screamed back as he shot the mummy with his shotgun
The mummy is blown back in two pieces, Discord grabs Fluttershy and runs far away from the downed mummy. the others were not far behind.
"DID YOU SEE THAT!?" Dumbbell screamed as he followed after Discord
"THE FUCK! IT WAS WALKING!!" Score screamed leaving the room last
The group finally made their way out of the underground city only to find Blueblood surrounded by Medjai armed with rifles aimed at them. From this group came their leader; Zecora who seemed to more troubled than enraged as she removed the veil covering her face.
"We told you to leave or die and you refused...now you may have doomed us all for you have unleashed the creature we have feared for more than three thousand years!"
"Relax, I got him." Discord said in an almost uncaring manner.
"No mortal weapon can kill this creature, he's not of this world! You must go now before he kills you all."
Zecora then called for two of her guards to bring Hoops who was still in pain as he was given to his friends.
"You bastards..." Scores said in anger.
"What did you do to him?!?" Dumbbell demanded an answer while reaching for his gun.
"We saved him!" Zecora spat."Saved him before the creature could finish his work."
"You're not going to kill us?" Zephyr asked only to receive an elbow from his sister
"We must now hunt him down, and try and find a way to kill him," Zecora said ordering the other Medjai into the temple.
Zecora and the Medjai start heading down into the temple when Discord grabbed her arm and looked her dead in her eyes.
"I told ya, I already got him!"
Zecora stops and looks back with a deadly serious expression on her face.
"Know this, Equestrian" Zecora warned as she pulled her arm free. "This creature is the Bringer of Death, It shall never Eat, never Sleep, and It will never stop."
Golden Bit walks around the base of the Anubis Statue with his gun shaking in his hand and slowly backs up before, Bitty then turned around and lets out a high-pitched scream as he is face to face with the mummy. Golden Bit retreats to the statue base as he drops his gun and torch in fear.
The Corpse moves forward as Golden Bit reaches into his shirt and pulls out a Cross, He quickly makes the sign of the cross and blesses himself in English:
"May the good Lord protect and watch over me as a shepherd watches over his flock," Bitty said in fear
His prayers went unanswered as he saw that the mummy continues forward, Golden Bit grabs at the chains around his neck which reveal a multitude of religious symbols and idols. Golden Bit quickly grabs at the other symbols and icons before holding them out toward the corpse, one after the other, trying to slow his progress. All while blessing himself in Arabic, Hindi, and Chinese, unfortunately, none worked against the bringer of death, the mummy's skeletal hand reaches for Beni's throat as tears run down Bitty's cheeks. Golden Bit's back it the statue as he fished out one last idol, the six-pointed Star of David was held before the mummy as Bitty said one final desperate chant.
"Do not fail to protect me" Golden Bit muttered in Hebrew causing the mummy to freeze
"The language of the slaves..." Sombra said with shock as he withdrew his hand before speaking to the frightened man in Hebrew. "I may have use for you...And the rewards..." The mummy holds out his left hand flashing a handful of gold and jewels before Golden Bit. "...Shall be great"
Golden Bit's fear is replaced by relief as he stared at the treasure. "My prince."
"Now where are the other sacred jars?" Sombra asked holding the broken jar that once held The heart of his beloved
At the entrance, the two teams were making their escape from the city of the dead. Just as the last member fled, Sombra's hand burst through the sand as he roared in rage.
After days of crossing the desert, both parties made it back to the city of Cairo. Everyone was hastily packing their bags to get out of Southern Equestria, Fluttershy however refused to leave which forced Discord to pack her bags for her.
"And you're not leaving because?" Discord asked going through the woman's closet
"Because we have to do something!" Fluttershy said while putting the clothes back.
"Oh no we don't. We're out the door, we're gone!"
"Oh no we are not."
"Oh YES we are!"
"Oh no we are not, we woke him up and we are going to stop him."
"What is this "We" stuff anyway? I told you not to read from that thing, didn't I tell you not to read from that thing?!" Discord argued.
"Oh me, me, me, I, I, I, I woke him up so I'm going to find a way to stop him."
"Yeah? How? you heard the lady, no mortal weapons can kill this guy!"
"Then we just have to find some IMMORTAL one!" Fluttershy said, making Discord stop in his tracks.
"There goes that "we" again."
"Now listen, we have to do something!"
SLAM!!
"OOW!!" Discord screamed as she slammed the suitcase down on his fingers.
"Once this creature has been restored his curse will spread until the entire world is destroyed" Fluttershy chastised as she followed Discord around the room
"Yeah? So? Is that my problem?" Discord asked glaring at the woman
"It's everybody's problem!"
"Look lady, I appreciate you saving my life and all," Discord shouted at the unreasonable woman. "But when I signed on, I agreed to take you out there and bring you back, and I did, now we're even, end of job! end of story! contract terminated!"
"That's what I am to you? A contract?" Fluttershy asked
"Look Fluttershy," Discord said lowering his voice. "You can either tag along with me, or you can stay here And try to save the world....So what's it going to be?"
"I'm staying," Fluttershy said not budging an inch on the matter
"FINE!" Discord said leaving the room before slamming the door behind him
"Fine!" Fluttershy shot back as he headed out the door.
"Fine."
Later at the local pub
One of Discords oldest war buddies was busy chatting it up with one of the hostesses while the surviving members of the expedition gathered at the bar to share a few rounds.
"I'm the last in the royal air force stationed out here you know? All the other laddies died in the sky and were buried in the sand-good chaps, every one of em too-!"
"Oh hey Wind Ryder." Discord said after bumping into his old friend.
Discord made his to the bar counter as his old friend followed behind
"Y'know Discord," WInd said as he lamented his drunken woes. "Ever since the end of the Great War, there hasn't been a single challenge worthy of a man like me."
"Yeah?" Discord said sitting down next to Zephyr. "Well we've all got our problems today, don't we Ryder?"
O'Connell shoves him away. Winston staggers back to Jonathan.
"I just wish I would've chucked it with the other laddies," Wind Ryder said as Zephyr started pouring shots for himself and Discord. " And go down in a flame of glory, instead of sitting around here, rotting from..."
"boredom and booze!" Discord muttered in unison with the old war veteran as Wind takes Zephyr's shot glass
"Cheers lads," Wind Ryder said downing the shot before patting the pair on their backs. "Back to the airfield
After a short moment of awkward silence, Zephyr poured himself another shot as Discord prepared to down his.
"Well we're all packed up but the damn boat doesn't leave till tomorrow morning." Dumbbell said as he and Scores joined them at the bar.
"Ah tail tucked firmly between your legs I see?"
"Yeah you can talk you don't have some...sacred walking corpse after you!"
"So...how's your friend?" Discord asked Scores in hopes of consoling him.
"He had his eyes and his tongue ripped out...how would you feel?" Scores asked in an offended tone before grabbing a bottle.
While the guys were busy getting drunk, Hoops was having tea with a new acquaintance of his after being introduced by none other than Bitty.
"I'm so, pweased, to meet chou," Hoops did his best to speak without the use of his tongue while offering his hand to his guest, only for Bitty to stop him.
"Prince Sombra doesn't like to be touched. A silly Eastern superstition, I'm afraid," Bitty explained why the cloaked figure didn't shake his hand.
"Pwease, forgive me," Hoops begged while reaching for his drink, only to knock it over.
"Oh, whoops." Bitty went over to Hoops side and helped him before continuing. "Prince Sombra thanks you for your hospitality," Hoops felt a small amount of pride for that. "and for your eyes." His smile soon faded after hearing that. "and your tongue." He was very much afraid now.
"No. No, no, no, no," Hoops begged while holding onto Bitty.
"I'm afraid, more is needed." Hoops held onto Bitty for dear life before Bitty shrugged him off. "The prince must finish the job and consummate the curse, which you and your friends brought on yourselves."
When Bitty was done, Sombra removed his mask, showing the decayed flesh underneath while a few remaining scarabs crawled away from him. Even though he was blind, he could see his end coming and let out a shriek of terror.
Three shot glasses clink together as Discord, Zephyr, and Dumbbell drink to Hoop's recovery, all three men down shots before they instantly spit out the liquid. Half the bar follows as they spit out their drinks as well.
"Sweet Celestia! That tasted just like,... like..." Dumbbell said as he realized the taste was
"Blood!" Discord dropped his shot glass before pointing to the fountain
What was once crystal clear water had turned dark crimson, and all three shared a look of nervousness.
"And the rivers and waters of Southern Equestria flow ran red and were as blood," Zephyr said as a look passes over Discord's face and the realization hit him
"He's here!" Discord said running out of the bar to find Zephyr's sister
Discord races around the building before he spots Fluttershy walking across the garden
"Oh Fluttershy!!!!" Discord called out skidding to a stop in front of her
"Mr. Discord, you're still here?" Fluttershy said as she noticed the expression on his face
"We got problems," Discord said as a roar of thunder and lighting rang out
however, instead of water, the dark clouds rained down a barrage of fire slammed into the courtyard. Discord Grabbed Fluttershy and pulled away from the garden, As soldiers, servants, and camels ran in every direction in an attempt to avoid the maelstrom. The Pair backed up until they made it to a pair of stairs, unfortunately, Golden Bit was racing down those stairs.
"Shit!" Bitty cursed as he spotted Discord
"Bitty! Hey" Discord seized the sketchy man and pinned him to the wall
"Bitty you little stinkweed, where did you slink off to?" Discord asked
However before he could speak all three froze when they heard a loud Familiar roar coming from upstairs, Golden Bit took their distraction to flee as both Discord and Fluttershy race up the stairs.
Discord and Fluttershy race into the Hoop's room before they skid to a stop as they spot Hoops, or what's left of him. Lying dead in his chair was Hoops, his body was drained of all organs and liquids leaving nothing but a shriveled husk which a terrorized expression plastered on his face.
Discord and Fluttershy look past the dead Equestrian and immediately took notice of the walking corpse, Discord draws his gun and points it at Sombra as the body of the corpse began changing
Sombra began regenerating that which he lost. A thick skin forms over powerful new musculature as his tendons ripple, his bones bulge and reform as he turns around and spots the pair, Sombra lets out a roar as the last of his regeneration covered his face.
Discord looks at Sombra with fear in his eyes. "We are in serious trouble."
Sombra stomps towards the pair as Discord drew his second pistol and started putting holes in his rotting body, Unfortunately, Sombra kept coming despite Discord's Bullets ripping through his body. Sombra didn't seem to mind as his wounds healed almost instantly, Zephyr, Score, and Dumbbell ran into the room after hearing the gunfire. All three froze at the sight of the New Sombra, Discord continued to shoot the corpse as it started to irritate the mummy. Sombra grabbed hold of Discord, and with no effort, threw him across the room and into Zephyr and the others which knocked them down.
Sombra turns to Fluttershy and starts stepping toward her, Fluttershy let out a fearful squeak as she backed away into a wall completely terrorized
"You saved me from the undead, I thank you," Sombra said in ancient Equestrian and he leaned closer to the frightened woman. "For this, I shall make you immortal"
Sombra leans in to kiss the woman. But an inch from the woman's lips, Sombra pulled away when he heard the sounds of the piano. Sombra saw a large white cat which wore a jeweled collar and a purple bow jump onto the piano before hissing at the corpse, Sombra gasps in fear before, the balcony doors burst open as Sombra lets out a fear-filled shriek. The Mummy explodes into sand and flees the room all the while screaming in fear
Everyone stared at the balcony doors as Discord was the first to say something. "We are very Serious Trouble"
Discord, Zephyr, Dumbbell, and Score follow Fluttershy as she runs through the city before entering her place of employment, Fluttershy stomped through the museum in search of someone who could help.
"What are we doing here lady?" Score demanded as Fluttershy quickened her pace
"There's only one person I know who can possibly give us some answers." the pink-haired woman rounded the corner
Fluttershy froze when she found the curator talking to Zecora, Everyone immediately pulls out their guns and points them at the mohawked woman
"YOU!" Fluttershy shouted as Discord pulled the hammer back on his revolver
Zecora scowls as the Curator nods his head. "Miss Shy. Gentlemen." Curator Neighsay said unfazed by the number of barrels aimed at him and Zecora
"What is she doing here?" Fluttershy demanded
"Do you genuinely wish to know?" Neighsay said with a smug grin. "Or would you prefer just to shoot us?"
"After what I've seen," Discord said uncocking his gun before sliding it back into his shoulder holster. "I'm willing, to go on a little faith."
"We are part of a secret society. For centuries we've sworn to do all in our power to stop the high priest Sombra from being reborn into this world!" Neighsay explained while seating himself.
"And now because of you, we have failed." Zecora glared at the group.
"And you think this justifies the killing of innocent people?" Fluttershy asked her boss in a somewhat shocked expression.
"To stop this creature? Let me think."
"YES!" Neighsay and Zecora shouted in unison.
Fluttershy groaned in frustration as she spotted her brother playing with the chariot of Solarius. "Zephyr stop playing with that!
"Question?" Discord said raising his hand "He's afraid of cats, what's that about?
"Cat's are the guardians of the underworld." Neighsay explained to the black-haired man. "and he will fear them until he is fully regenerated,"
"And then he will fear nothing!" Zecora said glaring at all in the room
"Yeah and you know how he gets himself fully regenerated?" Dumbbell asked while Scores began loading his gun.
"By killing everyone who opened that chest..."
"AND SUCKIN' EM DRY!! That's how!!"
"This Sombra fellow" Fluttershy said walking up to the Medjai and her boss. "When I met him in Hamunaptra he called me Chrysalis." Fluttershy said as Neighsay and Zecora shared a worried look. "And then in Mister Hoops' room he tried to kiss me."
"It was his love for Chrysalis that cursed him in the first place" Neighsay said looking back to Zecora. "And it would seem that even after three thousand years..."
"He is still in love with her" Zecora said
"While I admit it's flattering and romantic but what has that got to do with me?"
"Perhaps he will once again try to raise her from the dead!" Zecora said with a hint of hope in her voice.
"Yes, it seems he's already chosen his human sacrifice." Neighsay and the others then turned to Fluttershy who suddenly felt a chill crawl up her spine.
"Wow, bad luck sis." Zephyr said when Neighsay stood up from his seat.
"On the contrary, it may just give us the time we need to kill the creature!"
"And we'll need all the help we can get...his powers are growing." Zecora said when she noticed the room was getting darker and all looked up to see the sun was being eclipsed.
"...and he stretched forth his hands towards the heavens, and there was darkness throughout the land of Southern Equestria," Zephyr said as the sun was completely blocked out
Securing themselves within one of Cairo's forts, Discord looks out a window of Fluttershy's room and spots the Soldiers manning the walls and the black sun
"We must stop him from regenerating," Fluttershy said as she and Zephyr are pacing around the room before looking toward Score and Dumbbell. "Who opened that chest?
"Well, there was me and Score here," Dumbbell said pointing to himself and Score. "Hoops obviously and that Southern Equestrian scholar....Blueblood I think"
Discord turns from the window and looks at the two. "What about my buddy, Bitty?"
"Naw, he scrammed outta there before we opened the damn thing," Score said slightly angry at the situation
"if you ask me he was the smart one out of all of us"
"Yup, Definitely sounds like Bitty"
"Well we must find Blueblood and bring him back to the safety of the fort before the creature does."
"Right. She stays here, you three come with me." Discord said when the rest of the group began to object, none more so than Fluttershy.
"Just a minute you can't just leave me behind like some carpet bag! and who put you in charge-DISCORD WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!?" She shrieked as Discord suddenly hoisted her onto his shoulder and tossed her into the bedroom before locking her in and giving the keys to Dumbbell.
"This door doesn't open, she doesn't come out and nobody goes in. Right?"
"Right."
"C'mon, Zephyr." Discord said adjusting his harness
Zephyr swallows hard and points to himself. "Me? I figured I'd stay at the fort and keep my baby sister..."
"NOW!"
"Coming" Zephyr said still afraid of the man
Bluebloods Office
Once Fluttershy was secured, Discord and Zephyr made their way to Bluebloods private office only to find it ransacked with a certain sneak rummaging through everything.
"Well well, lemme guess. Spring cleaning?" Discord asked as Bitty tried to make a run for it but was stopped when he was suddenly struck by a chair.
"Nice shot." Zephyr said as they marched over to Bitty.
"Oh Bitty did you fall down? Let me help you up!" Discord grunted as he got a firm hold on Bitty's shirt and slammed him into the bookshelf.
"You came back from the desert with a new friend didn't you Bitty?"
"What friend? you're my only friend-AHHH!!" Bitty shrieked before being slammed on the desk.
"What you doing with this creep huh Bitty? What's in it for you!?"
"It is better to be the right hand of the Devil,... than in his path. Golden Bit answered hoping to be spared a beating from his friend "As long as I serve him, I am immune."
"Immune from what?"
"Filthy animal," Bitty muttered in Hungarian
"What did you say!?" Discord said lifting the man from the desk
"I don't wanna tell you. You'll just hurt me some more"
"What are you looking for?" Discord asked his old friend as he grip Bitty's clothes tighter. "And try not to lie to me"
Discord lifts Golden Bit to the fast metal fan above them "The book!" Golden Bit shouted in fear. "The black book they found at Hamunaptra! Sombra wants it back, he told me it would be worth its weight in gold.
"What does he want the book for?" Zephyr asked as Discord lowered Golden Bit from the ceiling fan
"How the hell should I know," Golden Bit said as Discord lifted the man again."
"Something about bringing his dead girlfriend back to life, but that's all I swear!" Golden Bit screamed in panic as Discord lowered him back down. "He needs the book to do that..." Golden Bit then looks to Zephyr. "And your sister."
Before Discord could question Golden Bit any further, they all heard a blood-curdling scream. Discord looks at Zephyr. Golden Bit seizes the moment of distraction and knees Discord in the balls, Discord doubles over and collapses as Bitty leaps out the window. Anger replacing pain Discord and Zephyr rush to the window in time to see Bitty disappearing into the crowd, however, the pair soon froze in fear as they looked down into the bazaar.
Down in the bazaar, people are screaming and quickly backing away from the shriveled corpse of the Professor. the figure in heavy robes bends down and rips the canopic jar out of Blueblood's cold dead hands, the black book of the dead nestled firmly in his free arm. The figure turned revealing the mummy they faced earlier that day, however, while parts of him were still decayed flesh his skin was a deathly pale color. Sombra -having regenerated even further- looks up and catches eyes with Discord. Sombra grins as he opens his mouth and a huge swarm of flies comes out, the swarm races straight up at Discord and Zephyr who shuts the shutters to avoid the plague of insects.
The flies slam into the closed window and immediately spread throughout the bazaar, the people were left screaming as they tried to run from the swarm. meanwhile, Sombra merely walks through the panic-stricken shopping area, he gazed past the bazaar and spotted the fort which housed his sacrifice and the others he must kill.
Discord and Zephyr look at each other with panicked expressions.
"Damn-it! That's two down and only two to go." Discord said leaving the torn office space
"And then he'll be coming after Flutters." Zephyr said following Discord
Score was sitting at a window sill staring out at the fort watching soldiers in doing drills while sitting in the chair behind him was Dumbbell sitting in a chair fiddling with one of the jars taken from the temple neither of them said anything to the other since the were too worried about the looming threat on their lives till finally Score had enough and got off the sill.
"Ah to hell with this. I'm going downstairs to get me a drink you want one?" Score asked Dumbbell as he made his way to the door.
"Yeah get me a glass of bourbon." Dumbbell stated.
"Alright." Score said as he walked out the door.
"A-And a shot of bourbon." Dumbbell added as he got up and put the jar on the seat he was in.
"Yeah okay, okay." Score said as he continued to walk away.
"And a bourbon chaser!" Dumbbell continued.
"I'll get your damn bourbon!" Score shouted.
"Don't worry about the door." Dumbbell said to himself as he closed the door Score walked through.
Dumbbell then looked at the jar in the seat and decided to goof around thinking he was in a fast draw with the jar before he started doing some gun tricks.
Suddenly there was a howl of wind from the window causing Dumbell to aim his revolver at the opening but he saw no visible threat so he slowly moved forward to investigate and when he arrived at the window he saw nothing and began to holster his gun when suddenly a blast of sand flew into the room knocking Dumbbell onto his back before the sand swirled around him creating a miniature sandstorm that picked him up and despite trying to put up a fight Dumbbell could do nothing not even scream as all the fluids were drained from his body leaving him a dried husk before being dropped onto the ground suddenly the sands came together and formed the body of Sombra looking mostly whole but still missing parts of his body to be fully whole.
The Mummy steps over Dumbbell's shriveled body as a scarab crawls out of his neck and into his mouth, Sombra bites down on the flesh-eater as he walks up to Fluttershy's door. The mummy rattles the knob only to find it locked, Sombra merely grinned as he turned into sand.
Fluttershy was asleep in her bed when sand begins streaming in through the keyhole, The sand kept pouring onto the floor as it formed a large mound. Fluttershy starts to toss and turn as the sand shifts and changes shape, Sombra walked towards the bed as his body showed no sign of decay.
"Chrysalis," Sombra whispers as he plants a kiss on her sleeping form.
However, his lips and mouth instantly start to degenerate and decay. Fluttershy wakes up and sees Sombra's rotted mouth kissing her, the pink-haired woman screams As she tried to shove him away.
The door burst as Discord and Zephyr barged into the room. "Hey!" causing Sombra to turn to the pair. "Get your ugly face off my girl!"
Fluttershy rolls away from the mummy as he turns to Discord in anger, Sombra starts stomping toward the man as sand began swirling around his hands
"Lookie what I got," Discord said lifting the white feline from earlier
Sombra lets out a shriek as the room is filled with sand, Everybody covers their eyes as Sombra's sandstorms blow out the window and vanishes over the compound.
Zephyr aims his gun at the window, his hand shaking badly, Discord moves to the pink-haired woman and extended his hand
Fluttershy takes his hand and immediately pulled the man into a hug. "Are you okay?" Discord asked the woman in his arms
"Well now that you mention it" Zephyr said before noticing the hardening glare Discord was giving him
"I was talking to her"
Zephyr races his big convertible through the streets as he constantly honked his horn, Fluttershy sat between her brother and Discord looking scared and nervous,
"You called me your girl?" Fluttershy said as she gives Discord a look.
"What?... Oh yeah, that was just um, you know, figure a speech." Discord said not looking at the lady
"I think you were jealous" Fluttershy teased
"Jealous?" Discord laughed. "You're kiddin' me? Did you see that guy's face?
Score leans forward from the back seat, filled with fear.
"Can the two of you not flirt right now?" Score said fear clear in his voice as Zephyr pulled the car right up to the museum. "In case you haven't noticed we're being hunted by a three thousand walking corpse"
"What are we doing back here anyway?"
"Well according to legend, the black book that you and your friends found had the power to bring the dead back to life. Until now it was just believed to be a superstition." Fluttershy explained.
"Well believe it sister, that's what brought our buddy back to life." Discord said as they headed upstairs.
"Yes so I'm thinking that if the black book can bring him back to life..."
"Then maybe the gold book can kill him."
"Precisely! now we just need to find out where it's hidden."
"Hey...anyone else hear that?" Zephyr asked when they began to hear what sounded like chanting.
"All hail Sombra...All hail Sombra...all hail Sombra..."
A large, crazed mob covered in hideous boils and sores comes chanting as they approached the museum
"And last but not least my favorite plague," Zephyr said with complete sarcasm. "Boils and Sores"
"It has begun." the mohawked woman said in a grim tone. "The beginning of the end."
"Not quite yet it hasn't. C'mon." Fluttershy said determined to stop the mummy
Fluttershy rushed to the large stone tablet which held the information on the city of the dead and the books, the crazed mob pounded at the locked doors in hopes of retrieving what their master desired.
"Now according to Celestial Scholars, the black Book of The Dead the Equestrians found was inside the statue of Anubis but in reality, the Gold Book was supposed to be hidden there," Fluttershy said as she scanned through the ancient language. "It would appear that the Celestial Scholars messed up and swapped the hidden books"
"So if the Black book was found in Anubis then the Golden book must be inside..."
The Banging on the doors can be heard as Fluttershy and the Curator quickly sort through the many hieroglyphics, meanwhile, Discord and the others watch as the 'slaves' of Sombra flood into the museum.
"Come on Flutters, hurry!" Zephyr urged his sister as she struggled to decipher the texts.
"Patience is a virtue!" Fluttershy said before the doors were suddenly forced open and the mob poured in.
"Not right now it isn't!" Discord said while drawing his gun.
"You know what I think I'll bring the car around," Zephyr said running out of the museum to get to his car
"I've got it!" Fluttershy said in excitement. "According to this, the golden Book of The Living is located at Hamunaptra inside the statue of Horus" Fluttershy giving the stone a rather obscene gesture. "Take that Celestial Scholars"
"That's great now let's get out of here," Score said rather impatiently
Soon as Zephyr was out the door, he was already met with the zombified mob and needed to think fast so in a spur of the moment he stood up straight and began walking like a robot as the mob closed in.
"ALL HAIL SOMBRA!" He shouted out loud trying to sound like one of them and by dumb luck it actually worked and they instantly resumed their march as he quietly snuck out of the mob and made a break for the car.
Zephyr slows his pace allowing the mob to walk past him, before long the eldest brother was outright walking backward before the mob was out of sight. Zephyr leaps into the convertible before firing up the engine and turning the car around, right as he passed the museum door Discord, Fluttershy, Score, Zecora and the Curator run up and jump inside the car. Beni steps out of the museum and sees them.
Golden Bit rushed out of the museum to see them fleeing and calls out for his master "Sombra! SOMBRA!"
From the window on the top floor of the Museum, Sombra looks down and finds his prey driving away before letting out a primordial shriek
"You're gonna get yours, Bitty!" Discord shouts as they race past him. "You hear me? You're gonna get yours!"
"Oh Like I've never heard that before!" Bitty shouted back as the zombified mob started to chase after the group
Zephyr hauls ass down the narrow bazaar street, Discord looks back as the mob vanishes from view.
"Nice driving Zephyr" Discord patting the eldest brother on his shoulder
"Thanks," Zephyr said glancing back before turning his eyes back to the road ahead
Zephyr's eyes go wide as he slams on the brakes causing everyone to look ahead, blocking the road was a massive hoard of Sombra's Slaves. none of them were moving, they just stood there waiting for what the group would do. Discord looks between the mob and Zephyr before doing something even he thought was stupid, the gunman slammed his foot on Zephyr's which forced him to press the gas pedal. Seeing this, the mob starts running at the car with the intent of stopping it.
"Hang on!" Discord shouted as they started crashing into the enslaved people
It didn't take long for the mob to get a hold of the car and start climbing, Discord and the others fight them off and throw them off the car, and more people jump on. Zephyr swerves the car causing it to crash through some stalls, knocking them off, Zecora spots one climbing from the rear before driving her fist into his face. the man tumbles before knocking more of the mob off their feet, one managed to get their hands around Zephyr's throat before Fluttershy poked his eye out. the man let out a scream before Discord's foot connected with his face and kicked him off the vehicle. unfortunately, two managed to get a hold of Score who tried to fight them off, a struggle that dragged the Equestrian further and further off the car
"Discord!" Score shouted as the car made a hard right causing him to fall off. "DISCORD!!!" Score tumbles across the pavement before jumping to his feet and shooting the two who pulled him from the car, unfortunately after their deaths Score tried to chase after the car only for the mob to catch up. The Equestrian backs into a corner as he continued to fire his pistols into the hideous rabble, killing several, and keeping them at bay.
However, his heart drops when he hears a CLICK! from both his pistols. Score pulled the trigger several times just praying for another bullet.
CLICK! CLICK! CLICK! CLICK!
Despite being out of ammo, the mob stays back and looked at him like rabid vultures. The mob parts like the red sea as Sombra walks passed them and up to Score. Score whimpers in fear as he gazed at Sombra's half-rotten face. Then he gets an idea, reaches into his pocket, and pulls out his jewel-encrusted jar. He holds it out for Sombra as the mummy snatches it from his hands and gives the man a grin, Score grins back as a newfound hope that he'll be spared crosses his mind.
Golden Bit stood among the crazed, diseased mob as Score let out a blood-curdling scream, the shifty man turned away from the horror as Sombra drained the man of his organs and fluids.
Despite their best efforts, the surviving members of the group lost control of the car and crashed into the town square's fountain with the mob hot on their heels. It seemed like this would be the end until they suddenly halted and began chanting once more as Sombra appeared, skin dark as night with eyes blazing crimson as he marched through the crowd.
"It's the creature..." Neighsay spoke with fear.
"he's fully regenerated."
Fluttershy stares at him as his shadow-like hair bellows with the wind, his eyes brimming with enchanting purple energy.
"He's gorgeous," Fluttershy muttered causing Discord to give her a look. "Sorry"
"Keetah mi pharos, aja nilo, isirlan." Sombra grinned as he approached the group.
"Come with me, my princess." Golden Bit Translated as he walked beside the High Priest. "It is time to make you mine, forever."
"For all Eternity" Fluttershy corrected with a scowl. "Idiot"
"Koontash dai na" Sombra spoke once more in the ancient tongue as he offered his hand to her.
"Take my hand and I will spare your friends."
"have you got any bright ideas?" Fluttershy asked Discord.
"I'm thinking, I'm thinking..." Discord said as he tried to think of a solution.
"Well you better think fast because...if he turns me into a mummy you're the first one i'm coming after.
With no other choice, Fluttershy accepted his offer but Discord was not having it and quickly drew his gun on the creature.
"NO!" Fluttershy said as Zecora got him to put his gun down.
"He has to take me to Hamunaptra to complete the ritual!"
"She's right, live today fight tomorrow." Zecora said as Discord reluctantly put away his weapon and glared at Sombra.
"I'll be seeing you again..."
Sombra merely grinned at the man before retreating to the mob, Golden Bit walked up to Zephyr and proceeded to relieve him of the key needed to read the black book. Once Sombra cleared his slaves, he commands them to kill them all.
"NOOO!!" Fluttershy screamed
Sombra pulls her away with a wide smile plastered on his face, Golden bit looks at Discord with a smile to match his master.
"Goodbye my friend," Golden Bit says before running after Sombra
"COME HERE YOU LITTLE..." Discord breaks free from Zecora's grip only to stop once Bitty ran passed the mob
As the mob closed in, Discord spotted a manhole and quickly threw off the lid while Neighsay held them off with a sword he kept hidden under his robes.
"Come on you're first!" He said to Zecora as she jumped in.
"You're next Zephyr!"
"What about my sister?" Zephyr asked as he nudged his way in.
"We'll get her back, go!"
The Curator pulls out his curved blade and starts to hack at the zombified crowd.
"Come on your turn!" Discord shouted at the old man
"Go!" Neighsay screamed as he cut down another slave. "Kill the creature!"
Discord drops down into sewers as the mob began to surround the Curator
The Curator screams in agony as the mob tears the Curator apart.
Discord, Zephyr, and Zecora walked across the desert dune with the airfield behind them, the trio stand before Wind Ryder as he listened to his record on his gramophone
"Morning WInd" Discord greeted with a wave. "We've got a problem and a job for ya if you're interested"
"So what's your little problem got to do with His Majesty's Royal Air Corp?" Wind Ryder asked setting down his cup
"Last time I checked," Discord said with a smug grin. "Not a god-damned thing."
The Veteran Pilot looked at the trio, intrigued. "Is it dangerous?"
"Well, You probably won't live through it," Discord admitted bluntly
Hearing this Ryder leaned forward in interest. "By Jove, do you really think so?"
"Everybody else we've bumped into has died," Zephyr admitted with a shrug of his shoulders. "why not you?"
The Veteran nods his head as he slowly rises to his feet "So what's the challenge then?"
"Save the damsel in distress, kill the bad guy, and save the world."
A slow grin spreads across the veteran's face before giving the trio a snappy salute. "Wind Ryder at your service, sir!"
After making their preparations, Discord and his team took of in Wind Ryders old biplane and flew across the desert with all haste. Discord sat in the rear gunner seat while Zecora and Zephyr were buckled onto the wings of the plane.
"Are you alright?" Discord shouted to Zephyr who was gripping the wing for dear life.
"DO I BLOODY LOOK ALRIGHT?!?" Zephyr yelled while rolling his eyes.
"FWEEP! How you doing?" Discord shouted to Zecora who seemed to be having the time of her life while flying through the air. As they raced across the desert, Ryder noticed a sand twister flying by but for some reason it seemed off.
"See that? I've never seen one so big!" He shouted to Discord as it passed by.
"Never?"
"No!"
Down on the ground, the sandy whirlwind came to a stop and began to dissipate. Fluttershy and Golden Bit are suddenly ejected out of it, they roll across the sands as Golden Bit lands right on top of Fluttershy.
"GET OFF ME" Fluttershy smacked the shifty man off of her
Bitty rubbed his cheek as he let out a groan. "I need a new job"
The swirling sand condenses before the sands took shape of High Priest Sombra, the high priest shakes off the sand as he walked passed the pair. Fluttershy looked around only to gasp in shock, off in the distance Fluttershy saw the City of the Dead.
"Sweet Celestia" Fluttershy gasped out. "We're back at Hamunaptra"
Sombra froze when he began to hear a loud buzzing sound in the sky, everyone looked up and found a biplane soaring around in the sky.
"Discord" Fluttershy whispered with a growing smile
Sombra glares at the plane as power surges in his eyes, the high priest lets fly with another one of his horrible shrieks as a massive wall of sand rises up out of the desert.
"Oh. My. God...." Discord said in fear as he watched the sand begin to chase the plane. "HEY RYDER! PEDAL FASTER!!"
"Hang on!" Wind Ryder shouted back as he pushed the throttle further
The plane dives over the side of Hamunaptra
Unfortunately, as Wind Ryder levels the plane out, the sandstorm continues to chase the biplane. The sand wall was getting closer and closer, Discord looked back into the blinding sand and saw part of the sand turn black as a giant face forming inside the sandstorm.
"Fuck this" Discord grabs the mounted machine gun, cocks the bracket and started to shoot the sands
The bullets blast away at Sombra's giant face inside the sandstorm, Sombra's face begins to laugh before his jaw unhinges and swallows the plane.
"Stop it!" Fluttershy turned to the high priest. "You'll kill them!"
"That's the idea"
Fluttershy pushed Golden Bit out of the way before stopping right before looking back to the twisting plane,
The biplane spun inside the blowing sands, the engines roaring out of control as the howling wind tore through the metal. Zephyr and Zecora both screamed in fear as the pilot simply grinned at the situation.
"Here I come, laddies!!" Wind Ryder laughed as the plane started to fly upside down
Sombra was savoring the kill to come when out of desperation, Fluttershy kissed him and broke his concentration as the sandstorm suddenly dissipated and the trio escaped but her success was short lived as she watched them crash behind a sand dune. Feeling satisfied with his victory as well as the kiss, Sombra grabbed Fluttershy and proceeded towards the city unaware that his foes had survived their ordeal.
"I love the whole sand wall trick it was beautiful...bastard." Bitty said while following.
The entire front half of the plane was buried in the sand as the group began to regain consciousness and stumbled to their feet save for Zephyr who was still stuck to the wing.
"Uh excuse me?" He called out while struggling to get loose.
"A little help would be useful-IF IT'S NOT TOO MUCH TROUBLE!!"
"Yeah, yeah I gotcha." Discord said as he unstrapped Zephyr while Zecora pulled the machine gun free from the plane.
"Ryder? Hey Ryder!" Discord tried to shake his friend awake but got no response and only after a few seconds did he realize he had perished in the crash with a smile plastered on his face. Without warning the plane suddenly began to sink and Zecora pulled the two men back in a hurry.
"QUICKSAND!! Get back! it's quicksand!!" She said as they got to a safe distance and watched their friend be buried with his plane. In the true fashion of a soldier, Discord gave the old pilot one final salute as he was buried beneath the sand.
"Let go," Discord said slinging his sack over his shoulder as Zecora followed behind the pair with the plane's gun in her hands
Fluttershy follows Sombra into the underground cemetery, She stops at the sight of all the big hairy rats scurrying through the mausoleums and over the gravestones. However, Golden Bit shoves her back and pushes her forward, she turned back to the man and glared at his grinning face.
"Keep moving." Golden Bit said pushing her again
Fluttershy however just gave him a dirty look. "You know, nasty little fellows such as yourself, always get their comeuppance."
Golden Bit suddenly looks worried. "Yeah?"
"Oh yes," Fluttershy said with a growing smile. "Always."
Discord and Zecora are busy digging out a collapsed doorway as Zephyr were giving them instructions, but in reality, all he was doing was irritating both of them.
"Start with the bigger stones first" Zephyr advised the pair. "No pull from the top otherwise the whole thing will collapse" the man continued angering the Medjai the most. "Come on put your..."
Zephyr lets out a yelp as he ducks to avoid a sword that was wielded by Zecora, the woman inched the blade closer to Zephyr's face which quickly shut him up.
"Zephyr" Discord said glaring at the eldest sibling. "Shut up before I take that sword and kill you myself"
"You know what now that I think about it" Zephyr whimpered as Zecora pulled her sword away. "You two know what you're doing"
The Medjai returned her sword back to her belt before she and Discord went back to clearing the doorway, as the two worked Zephyr takes notice of a jewel on the far wall.
"I say, look at that." Zephyr walks over and jiggles it free. "You guys should come and have a look at this." Without warning something inside it starts to wiggle, and the wiggling continues until a scarab breaks out of its cocoon and instantly begins to burrow into Zephyr's palm. Zephyr starts to freak out and starts screaming, the blonde's scream alerted the pair causing them to drop the stone.
"Give me that sword!" Discord said reaching for the blade.
"MY ARM!!!! MY ARM!!!" Zephyr screamed pointing to his shirt sleeve.
Discord runs up and rips the arm off Zephyr's shirt. "Woah!" Discord shouts as he spots the scarab moving up Zephyr's arm. "Hold him!"
Zecora grabs hold of the blond as Discord whips out his butterfly knife, snaps it open, and grabs Zephyr's arm.
"NO! NOT THAT! NOT THAT!!" Zephyr screams louder as the knife digs into his skin
Discord flicks his hand causing something to fly through the air, the scarab hits the floor and immediately starts scurrying back toward Zephyr with the intent on finish the job.
"I've had just about enough of you" Discord pulls out his gun and blows it away
The shot rang out through the tunnels when Fluttershy smiled, realizing her friends had survived.
"Discord." She smiled before Sombra pulled out some strange dust from one of the jars and blew it onto a set of hieroglyphics as he chanted some sort of spell. The two figures on the inscription suddenly came to life, making Fluttershy jump back as she realized they were men who had been mummified and buried in the temple walls.
"The celestial scholars never wrote about this..." she said as they two mummies shambled forward and bowed before Sombra.
"Kill them." He said in the ancient tongue, directing them to Discords group.
"And wake the others!"
the Trio continues further into the temple until they arrive at an altar, Sombra begins to prepare the altar while speaking in Hebrew, Golden Bit looks to the woman and translates his master's words
"Prince Sombra wants your heart." Golden Bit said causing Fluttershy to blush
"Well Tell him, I'm truly flattered... but that it's already taken."
Sombra continues speaking while laying the four jewel-encrusted canopic jars next to the shattered one.
"He wants your heart and your brain, your liver, your kidneys..." Golden Bit causing Fluttershy to glare at the man. "Basically your organs"
Fluttershy's eyes widen as she furiously turns to Sombra. "You only want me for my organs?!"
Sombra looks at her and grins before he lifts his hand and strikes her face, Sombra's strike throws her off her feet and into one of the walls. Fluttershy's vision goes blurry before she passes out, Sombra lifts the woman onto the altar before dismissing Golden Bit.
Discord and his team journeyed through the labyrinth of tunnels with Zecora's guidance since the Medjai had more knowledge of the city. They came upon a darkened room where Discord noticed a mirror slightly out of alignment with the sun. With one well placed shot, the trio found themselves standing in the legendary treasure hoard of Hamunaptra itself, piles upon piles of gold and jewels laid before them as the treasure glittered in the dim light.
"Can you see?" Zephyr gasped while they walked passed the enormous hills of wealth.
"Yes." Discord replied in a more calm tone but even he was a bit dumbfounded at the treasure hoard.
"Can you believe?"
"Yes."
"Can we just-"
"No." Discord spoke more firmly, not wanting them to get sidetracked when suddenly several hands bursted from the sand and they found themselves surrounded by mummies.
"Who the hell are these guys?" He asked Zecora as they closed in.
"Priests, Sombra's priests." Zecora said while aiming her gun.
"Okay."
KABLAM!!
Discord and Zecora rain bullets and buckshot on the undead, Zephyr joins in by grabbing both of Discord's pistols ad firing on the mummies.
Even though they had the firepower to blow through them, the mummies simply outnumbered them and continued to inch closer to them. To make matters worse the disemboweled body parts started to move, turn over, and crawl toward our heroes, who start to back away.
All three turned and started to run through the gold-filled room, Zephyr slowed down to grab a golden goblet Until the flat of Zecora's sword smacked his hand causing him to drop the gold. As the trio was being chased by the undead priests, Golden Bit ran into the room and let out a giddy laugh as he marveled at all the gold.
Discord and Zecora covered the rear as all three ran through the temple passageways, Zephyr ran ahead into the large open room with a wide smile on his face.
"I found him, He's in here!" Zephyr shouted as he lit the mounted torch in the room. "Hello Horus old boy"
"Keep them busy for a sec," Discord said running to the torch with a stick of Dynamite in his hands
Igniting the fuse Discord turned toward the doorway. "Time to close the door!" Discord said as Zecora and Zephyr took cover behind the statue of Horus.
The gunman hurled the explosive and quickly ran for cover, the dynamite exploded destroying the majority of the mummies and sealing the passageway in the process.
"How more of those have you got?" Zephyr asked
"Just one" Discord said picking himself up. "Now let's get this book and send this freak back to hell"
While the men were busy with the statue, Fluttershy awoke to find herself chained to an altar when she felt something crawling on her stomach and looked down to see a huge rat. Her first instinct was to hold back her scream as she gave a few frightened gasps and quickly rolled over to get the rodent off her but as soon as she turned over, she found herself lying next to another mummy.
"AAAAAAAH!!!"
Her screams were drowned out by the sound of gunfire as Zecora emptied every bullet she had just as Discord and Zephyr continued to struggle with the secret compartment, when at last they had found their prize.
"The golden book of Amon Ra..." Zephyr gasped in astonishment just as Zecora ran out of ammo.
"Save the girl." She told her new friends. "Kill the creature! YAAAAAAH!!!"
"NO!!" Discord shouted as she charged the remaining mummies and forced them back.
"What are you waiting for?!? GET OUT!! GET!! OUT!!" Zecora shouted while desperately holding them back. With no other choice, Discord used his last stick of dynamite to create an escape tunnel, leaving their friend to her fate as they raced towards the ritual chamber.
Outside, Golden Bit staggers across the sand with a saddlebag filled to the brim with treasure. He throws it over the rear of a camel before he starts to climb up, Golden Bit hesitates as looks back at the temple door. Licking his lips, his greed gets the better of him as he quickly scurries back toward the temple for more gold.
Chained tight to the top of the altar, Fluttershy hopelessly struggles to free herself. She stops as Priest mummies start surrounding the altar, Fluttershy is horrified as the hideous mummies kneel down and begin to chant despite the lack of tongues, jaws, and mouths in the room. High Priest Sombra steps up carrying the black Book Of The Dead, His hand reaches out and lovingly caresses his beloved's decayed cheek.
"Chrysalis" Sombra said before using the key to unlock the black book
After stashing the key within his robes, Sombra begins to read from The Book Of The Dead.
"Discord!" Fluttershy called out in desperation and fear. "Zephyr!"
Sombra stopped reading as he looked ahead and saw a large swirling hole starting to open in the detritus bog, Sombra smiled as a strange mist wafts up out of the swirling hole. Fluttershy's eyes widen in amazement and horror as the strange mist travels through the sacred jars into Fluttershy, the pink-haired woman jerks as though she's been electrified before the mist leaves her body and into Chrysalis.
The priests and Sombra's chanting reach a crescendo Chrysalis lets out a deep inhale and her empty eyeholes pop open, Fluttershy lets out a scream as the mummy turns and looks directly at her.
"With your Death" Sombra said in the ancient tongue as he revealed a ceremonial blade in his hands. "Chrysalis shall live" the high priest raised the dagger to its peak. "And I shall be invincible!"
"THE BOOK OF AMON RA!!" Zephyr shouted from atop the staircase. "I found it Flutters I found it!!"
"The book of Amon Ra..." Sombra gasped as he stopped the ritual midway and began marching towards Zephyr.
"Shut up and get me out of here Zephyr!!" Fluttershy shouted as her brother retreated into the corridor.
"Open the Book Zephyr" Fluttershy commanded. "It's the only way to kill him" Sombra left the blade next to his beloved as he continued after the blonde. "You have to open it and read the inscription!"
As Fluttershy was instructing her brother, Discord was approaching from the rear with one of the statue's mounted swords in his hands.
"I can't it's locked," Zephyr said flipping the book over and recognizing the lock. "I need the key Flutters!"
"It's inside his robes!"
However, Zephyr took one look at the mummy and immediately turned tail and ran with the book in tow. Once Sombra was a good few steps up the stairs, Discord rushed in and slashed Fluttershy's chains off.
Sombra whipped around and found the black-haired man freeing his sacrifice, the mummy scowled as he raised his voice to his priests
"Destroy Him!"
Discord made quick work of the priests as he began hacking them apart in a somewhat comedic fashion as one tried to catch its head before it was swatted away like a baseball. When the last of them was cleared, he scoffed thinking it was the easiest rescue he ever attempted as Fluttershy gave him a smile of admiration.
"Mummies." He chuckled before something pulled him down and he fell dropping his sword.
Discord was brought to the ground and restrained by two priests who had their lower limbs severed from their bodies, the gunman struggled to get them off but found their undead strength too much.
"Discord!" Fluttershy called out as she struggle to pull the last chain from her wrist
The black-haired man's attention was drawn to the approaching mummy who was holding a large stone slab in his decayed hands, Discord desperately tried to reach for the sword but found it Just out of his reach. Discord's eyes soon darted to a severed hand that was reaching around for his sword, the hand grabs the weapon's handle as the priest lifts the slab and laughs.
"Thanks!" Discord said grabbing the severed hand and swinging the blade through the priest's legs.
The priest's laughter was halted as it began to tilt backward, the mummy let out a brief scream before its head was crushed by the stone slab. Discord quickly killed the last two priests before helping Fluttershy with the last chain, elsewhere Zephyr started to translate the cover of the golden book
"Let's see...Rasheem...Rasheem Muno...Rasheem Muno Kashka!" Zephyr shouted in excitement until he started to hear the sounds of marching
A platoon of undead tomb guards began marching out in formation, cutting of Fluttershy and Discords escape as they formed a line and readied themselves for battle.
"Ohh yeah this just gets better and better..." Discord said as he readied his sword.
The undead guards stood with their weapons raised as they slowly stepped toward the pair, Zephyr looked at the situation with shock and regret. Meanwhile, Sombra looked at the guards with a wide grin.
"If we make it out of here remind me to kill your brother" Discord shook his head as he tightened his grip on the sword.
"Zephyr do something" Fluttershy begged her older brother
"ME?!" Zephyr shouted to his sister. "Did you hit your head?!"
"You can command them"
"You Must be joking, Flutters" Zephyr said as his back hit a stone column
"Finish the inscription on the cover you idiot" Fluttershy glared in his general direction. "Only then can you control them"
"Uhh right!" Zephyr ran into the corridors again to avoid Sombra when Fluttershy was almost gutted by the now risen Chrysalis who began swinging the dagger wildly at her, leaving Discord to face the guards.
Sombra gave the signal for his new minions to surround Discord who seemed ready to fight as he stood his ground and faced down the first three.
Discord turned tail and bolted away from the mummies, before running over the black bog.
"Scuse me! pardon me! coming through!" Discord shouted as he stepped on the skeletal remains that covered the bog surface
Fluttershy scrambled through the room to evade the undead woman, however, Chrysalis still managed to block her off with the dagger raised to impale the woman's heart.
Fluttershy quickly backed away in fear. "Hurry up Zephyr"
"This isn't as easy as you think!"
While Zephyr struggled with the inscription, Discord was weaving his way through the piles of gold and staircases before finally circling back to the platform at the center of the room.
"Oh screw this!" he cursed as he turned around to fight when suddenly, the tomb guards seemingly vanished.
Seeing this Discord shouldered the blade and chuckled as he started to turn around, only to let out a surprised scream as the undead guards were standing behind him with their weapons raised. Discord blocked the blades of a duel sickle mummy before finding an opening and relieving it of its head, Meanwhile, Zephyr was calling out to his younger sister due to an unknown glyph.
"Flutters, I need your help!" Zephyr called out not taking his eyes off the golden book. "I can't figure out this last symbol"
"What does it look like?" Fluttershy called out before Chrysalis wrapped her mummified hand around the pink-haired woman's neck
"It's a bird...A Stork!"
"Ah! Ah! Ahmenophus!" Fluttershy screamed out through her breaths as she held back the knife aimed at her heart
Zephyr tilts his head and looks at the symbol again. "Oh yeah! How'd I forget that one?"
As Zephyr managed to translate the book cover, Discord was fighting for his life in the middle of the staircase against the tomb guards. The black-haired man slammed out of the guards into the murky bog, immediately one jumped behind him as he fought off a guard who was swinging its sword at him. Discord managed to block the strikes before going on the offensive, the guard defended against Discord's swings as the guard behind him raised his axe.
Discord managed to knock the sword from the mummy's hand before cutting off his arm, the gunman then raised his sword which unknowingly stabbed the head of the guard behind him. The gunman brought the weapon down on the guard in front of him before he noticed the mummy behind him, the headless mummy started to swing blindly as Discord severed its arms and moved further up the stairs.
However, it seemed that no matter how many he killed they just came back, Discord clashed swords with another guard which knocked his weapon away and him to the ground. the mummy lifted its weapon to kill the man, thinking quickly Discord grabbed a nearby torch and set the mummy ablaze. Discord wasted no time in reclaiming his sword before kicking it off the stairs, unfortunately, two more guards charged him with their spears raised.
The gunman managed to knock both of them off the stairs with a single swift strike, the man then turned only to come face to face with two guards wielding sickles. the guards attack in unison causing Discord to hastily block and lose his balance, Discord tumbles down the steps as the spearmen from before join them. The four march toward Discord before raising their weapons and bringing them down with full force, meanwhile Zephyr was spotted by Sombra who marched toward the man with a vile grin.
"Hootash im Ahmenophus!" Zephyr shouts causing Sombra to turn towards the mummies with shock plastered on his regenerated face
Discord opened his eyes and saw all four mummies were frozen in place, the undead guards pulled back their weapons and turned to the right. Discord crawled away from the mummies before grabbing his sword and running after the high priest, Sombra broke from his stupor before he started barking orders at the tomb guards.
"Destroy him!! Destroy Him!!" Sombra shouted to the tomb guards. "I command you to destroy him!!"
However, no matter how much he shouted, the guards refused to move an inch. Zephyr's attention was drawn to the screams of his sister, the elder sibling steeled his nerves and barked an order to the tomb guards.
"Miya Facusca Un Chrysalis" Zephyr said in the ancient tongue
The Guards gripped their weapons as they marched down the stairs before advancing toward the high priest's love.
"Chrysalis!!" Sombra called out as he saw his dear love turn to face the guards
"Give me that Book!" Sombra shouted as he stormed after Zephyr who dropped the book in fear
However, he would be too late as Chrysalis dropped the dagger in fear of the tomb guards. "SOMBRA!!" The mummy screamed as the spear pierced her stomach.
"CHRYSALIS!!!" Sombra called out in horror as he watched the tomb guard hack and chop his beloved until she was nothing.
Shock and Horror clashed in the high priest's mind before his anger overtook him, the mummy stomped after Zephyr with murder in his glowing eyes.
"Now You DIE!" Sombra shouted as he lifted the eldest brother by his throat.
"Mind if I cut in?" Discord said as he saved Zephyr by cutting off the mummy's arm. " Okay pal, let's see how tough you are without your right arm."
Zephyr Dropped to the ground with the mummy's hand still around his neck, needless to say, the elder sibling spazzed out as removed the limb and crawled away from the pair. Sombra turned to Discord before looking at his arm and then turning back to him, Sombra let out a growl as he grabbed Discord with his left arm and throws him halfway across the chamber. Discord slammed into one of the columns, bounces off, and crashes to the ground.
Discord let out a groan as Sombra approached the man while re-attaching his arm. "Alright,... Apparently, he's left-handed."
With Sombra's attention on Discord, Zephyr rummages through his discarded robes before jumping to his feet with something in his hand.
"Flutters, I got it!" Zephyr said proudly as he smiles at Fluttershy.
Fluttershy runs for her brother as he picks up the golden book. "Give me the key!" Fluttershy ordered as she snatched the key from her brother while Zephyr held out the book before his sister. "Keep him busy"
Discord screamed as he collided with another stone column. "Sure..." Discord moaned in pain. "No problem"
Discord swings his sword and cleaves a big chunk of molten flesh rot out of Sombra's stomach. On the outside, Sombra looks human, but on the inside, he is still a rotten old mummy. As his flesh repaired itself, Sombra backhands Discord and knocks him twenty feet back. Discord staggers to his feet and looked up only to find Sombra right there, the mummy clubs him hard with his left arm. Discord spins through the air, the man slams into the side of a ritual chamber. Sombra approaches, rage still burning in his eyes. Discord gets up, quickly pivots, and hacks into Sombra's head. Sombra grins and punched Discord in the face. Discord is thrown back, pulling his sword with him.
Fluttershy opens the Golden Book Of The Living and quickly turns the heavy gold pages looking for something.
"Hurry Flutters," Zephyr said in a panic as he watched Discords beatdown.
"You're not helping Zephyr," Fluttershy said as she tracked her finger down the golden page
Sombra walked up to the downed and beaten man before grabbing him by the throat and lifting him off his feet, Discord hangs there in a dazed mess as Sombra grins and says something in his native tongue
"And now, it's your turn" Sombra growled as he started to strangle Discord
"I've got it!" Fluttershy chanted as Sombra turns and looks at her with pure terror. "Kadeesh mal! Kadeesh mal! Pared oos! PARED OOS!!"
At first nothing seemed to happen when a portal suddenly appeared from atop the staircase and through it came riding a ghostly chariot with a hooded figure. As the chariot charged at Sombra, the ghostly rider reached into the priests chest and wrenched out what appeared to be his soul as Sombra tried to chase after it in vain but was helpless as another portal appeared and the chariot vanished through it.
Enraged by this loss, Sombra glared at Discord with eyes full of hate and was looking to finish their fight once and for all.
"I though you said it was gonna kill him!!" Discord shouted as Sombra reached for his throat. Out of instinct, Discord thrusted his sword into the priests stomach when to his surprise, Sombra actually felt pain, the first pain he had in over three thousand years.
"...He's mortal." Fluttershy said after revealing what the spell had done to the now mortal priest as he stumbled into the pool at the center of the chamber.
All three watch as Sombra gently sinks into the fetid swamp, and slowly his body reverts to its original mummified state. Sombra looks at the trio and flashes them one final grin just before his head goes under, Sombra says something in ancient Egyptian as his head drops into the bog
"Death is only the beginning." Fluttershy translated
While the trio were recovering from the ordeal, Bitty in all his greed was busy hauling yet another heavy sack of gold through the halls of the temple and as he took a moment to catch his breath the cowardly graverobber foolishly placed the heavy sack on a switch sticking out of the wall and the entire city suddenly began to rumble.
"...TIME TO GO!" Discord shouted as he grabbed Fluttershy by the arm and they made a break for the exit but in their haste, Zephyr accidentally dropped the book into the moat around the altar much to the dismay of his sister.
"YOU LOST THE BOOK?!? Zephyr I can't believe-!"
"LET'S GO!!" Discord insisted as he and Zephyr pulled flutters along before stopping once more in the middle of the treasure room.
"...Can't we just?"
"NO! Come on Zephyr!" Fluttershy said as the tables quickly turned and she ended up pulling her brother along.
Following close behind the trio, Golden Bit tripped over a pile of gold causing a statue to land on his foot. The clatters gained the attention of Discord who stopped to look between the exit and his friend.
"Just leave him" Fluttershy ordered
"Get your sister out of here," Discord said running back to help Bitty.
Golden Bit was shocked to find Discord pushing the statue off of the sketchy man. "What are you doing?"
"Saving your ass...Again" Discord said as Golden Bit slid out from underneath the statue however his foot was too injured to walk. "You can die some other time, but I'm not letting you die here"
Discord slung Golden Bit's over his shoulders and helped his friend up the stairs towards the exit, however, the trap that Bitty activated was about to seal them both inside.
"We're not going to make it"
"We're going to make it!" Discord said as they approached the sealing door
"We won't make it," Golden Bit said as he gripped Discord's clothing. "But you still can"
Before Discord could understand what he was saying, Golden Bit pushed him through what limited space was left for the door. Discord scrambled to his feet and tried to pull his friend through, Golden Bit did grab hold of his hand but all he did was flash a smile to his friend.
"Goodbye Discord," Golden Bit said flashing his golden tooth with his smile. "Deep down I truly considered you my one and only friend"
Golden Bit and Discord separated as the door hit the ground cutting the pair off from each other, Discord balled up his fist before hitting the door and uttered one last thing to his friend.
"Bye Bye Bitty" Discord said running through the temple before he too was trapped here
With no other escape, Bitty was now trapped in the treasure room and watched as the reflecting mirrors were crushed one by one until only his torch was the only source of light.
Limping to the statue that crushed his foot, Golden Bit picked up his torch in hopes of finding another exit. That plan of action was halted when he spotted a single scarab on top of the fallen statue, fear and panic gripped his being as he tried to burn the insect with the torch. Golden bit then froze as he heard the familiar skittering sound, turning around, The man found hundreds of thousands of flesh-eating scarabs approaching him from every angle. Golden Bit's only saving grace was the torchlight was keeping the insects at bay, unfortunately, that light was rapidly fading.
"She was right," Golden Bit said as the light was reduced to a mere ember which caused him to let out a meek laugh. "They Always get their comeuppance"
The light flickered out plunging the room into pitch darkness, the only sounds that could be heard were the skittering of the scarabs and the blood-curdling screams of Golden Bit
After narrowly escaping the crumbling city, the three explorers watched from a distance as the temples and monuments fell into the sand and Zephyr could swear he saw gold flying through the air as the last of the structures crumbled leaving nothing but a barren wasteland as if the city never existed.
As they watched the last of the city disappear, Zephyr let out a scream after feeling a hand grab his shoulder and all turned around to see Zecora alive and well with her hand bandaged, no doubt broken from fighting off Sombra's minions.
"Oh geez! thank you for that, thank you VERY much!!" Zephyr whined as he clutched his chest.
"You have earned the love and respect of my people." Zecora smiled at the trio with a respectful bow of her head.
"May the gods smile upon you always."
"And uh same...to you." Zephyr replied as she rode off on her camel.
"Well...I guess we go home empty handed...again." He sighed in defeat while Discord and Fluttershy turned to one another with warm smiles and loving eyes.
"I wouldn't say that." Discord said as he gave Fluttershy a more proper kiss to which her brother just rolled his eyes.
"Oh give me a break" Zephyr snorts in disgust and climbs up onto a camel.
When the kiss is over, Discord and Fluttershy share a smile before leaping up into the saddle of one of the camels. Discord reaches down and pulls Fluttershy up onto the camel, Fluttershy wraps her arms around his waist. The camels start to move out as none of the trio noticed the glint of gold stashed away in the camel's saddlebags
