> Fun Time Valentine's Day > by AmethystMajesty25 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 (Part 1) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a Friday afternoon, Beryl hid in the bushes, wore his tree hat and looked through the binoculars to see Mulberry Cascade on the bench, reading a magazine. He contacted through his walke-talkie, “This is Tree Hat. I repeat, this is Tree Hat. Is everybody in position?” Mind Tempo, disguised as an old lady, replied through his walkie-talkie, “Helpless old lady, ready.” Diamond Glow, disguised as a purse snatcher, hid behind the fountain and replied, “Purse snatcher, good to go.” Then, Virtue walked behind the bench, disguised as a gardener, placed the flower vase next to the flower bed. “Flowers are locked and loaded.” “Copy that,” Beryl acknowledged. “Operation get Cloudburst a girlfriend is underway.” He then went to check on Cloudburst, who was feeling nervous. Cloudburst sheepishly told him, “I'm nervous.” Beryl calmed him down, “Look, girls love heroes. So, punch out the mugger, give granny her purse back, then grab the flowers, and give them to the pretty girl. And boom! Instant girlfriend.” “Got it,” Cloudburst understood. “Good luck, lover boy.” Beryl went back to his hiding spot with his sister until Rarity appeared with her tree hat on. Rarity asked them, “Whatcha doin' darlings?” Virtue and Beryl were surprised to see Rarity beside them, startling them. He asked, “Where'd you come from girl?” “What are you doing here?” Virtue asked. Rarity explained, “I was on my way to the mall until I saw you guys spying through the bushes. What are you up to this time?” Beryl answered, “We are planning to get Cloudburst a girlfriend.” “Aww, how romantic. I want to see how it goes.” “Well, you're in luck,” Virtue informed her and the plan was ready to be put into motion. “Caw, caw-caw!” Beryl shouted like a bird, and the operation was underway. Diamond put on the ski mask and waited while Tempo pretended to walk like an old lady. Tempo said in his granny voice, “Oh, I'm so old and frail. And look, my purse, it's just so full of money.” Then, the purse snatcher emerged and grabbed the purse. “Gimme that purse!” “Stop it! Help me!” Tempo shrieked “Give me your purse!” Diamond demanded. While Mulberry witnessed the scene unfold, Cloudburst appeared to save the day and rushed over to the scene. “I'll save you,” Cloudburst vowed and grabbed the purse while Mulberry was amazed. “Thank you so…” Tempo said until he got punched by Cloudburst. Virtue, Tempo, and Rarity winced while Mulberry as Cloudburst gave the mugger flowers. The three spies signaled Cloudburst to stop as he presented Mulberry the purse. The three spies facepalmed and Mulberry ran away, screaming. As Tempo got up, Beryl informed everyone through his walkie-talkie, “Yeah, we probably should've rehearsed more.” Ah, ah, ah-ah, oh! Diamond took off his mask and Cloudburst took the flowers back and presented it to Tempo. “Really?” Tempo asked while Diamond rolled his eyes. [Cloudburst] Make it count Play it straight Don’t hold back Don’t hesitate [Diamond Glow] When you go Fun Time [Diamond Glow] Whatcha want Whatcha feel Never quitting Make it real [Cloudburst] When you roll Fun Time [Everyone] Oh woah! [Everyone] Hey! Oh! Hey! Oh! [Cloudburst] Listen to your heart now [Everyone] Hey! Oh! Hey! Oh! [Diamond Glow] Don’t you feel the rush? [Everyone] Oh-oh, oh-oh Oh-oh, oh! Go and shake it up! Whatcha gotta lose? Go and make your luck with the life you choose. If you want it all, Lay it on the line. It's the only life ya got, So ya gotta have a Fun Time! Minutes later, Cloudburst felt miserable and sat down on the couch in Tempo’s house. “I'm never gonna get a girlfriend.” Cloudburst turned on the TV and the news anchor announced, “And do you have a girlfriend?” “No!” Cloudburst weeped. “Then take her to see the movie, The Sketchbook, which opens tonight. It's the story of a passionate, young male artist who falls in love with a down-and-out chef with a recipe for romance. It's a film so romantic that if you're not smooching in the aisles, you're dead… or alone.” Cloudburst groaned as Beryl entered the room and took the remote controller to turn it off. He told him, “If you sit here feeling sorry for yourself, you're never gonna to get a girlfriend.” “But I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm lovable.” He motioned his hand around his face, telling Beryl that he can be a lovable guy. Beryl continued, “Which is why you have to keep looking. A girlfriend's not just gonna walk in the door and say "Hey, let's go on a date tonight." Right?” Suddenly, Shining Star opened the door and told Beryl, “Hey! Let's go on a date tonight.” Cloudburst dropped his jaw and pointed his finger at Star, seeing that Beryl’s example worked. “Okay, bad example,” Beryl apologized. While Cloudburst screamed, Star informed Beryl, “I printed out two tickets for The Sketchbook. Pop Pony gave it five smooches on their make out meter.” Cloudburst groaned sadly again. “Then print two more...” Beryl suggested her. “Because we are going to a double date tonight with Cloudburst.” “I've never double-dated before,” Cloudburst gasped in excitement. “Great, Who's his date?” Star wondered. Beryl answered, “We have to find him one.” Shining Star noted, “Of course we can find Cloudburst a date.” Cloudburst put on his helmet, “I'm ready.” “Yeah, let's leave the helmet here,” Beryl suggested. “Can't do that,” Cloudburst rebuked. “It's for your own good,” Star told him. Beryl agreed, “It is.” “No. Stop it. Stop it.” Cloudburst warned them as his two friends approach closer. “Chicks dig the helmet!” The two tried to take the helmet off from Cloudburst until they all fell down. Meanwhile, Mind Tempo was still dressed in his granny disguise and sat down on a chair at the community center, video chatting with Watermelody on the phone. Watermelody chuckled while grabbing her belongings, “Well, you even look cute as a grammy.” “Why, thank you, deary,” Tempo replied in a granny voice. “My family and I are ready to hit home after visiting my grandparents’ house at the countryside but um, what are you doing later?” Tempo continued his granny impression, “Oh, just, you know, makin' a prune juice smoothie, and rubbin' my bunions.” “Lovely. Well, maybe we'll meet up at the movie theater if I get home on time.” “All right. Maybe,” Tempo answered in his normal voice. “Great. See you there. Bye,” Watermelody’s call ended after that. Tempo stood up until he accidentally bumped into a pretty girl with orange hair and a bow on the back of her head. She apologized, “I am so sorry. I lost my reading glasses. Are you okay, ma'am?” “Uh, I'm fine. What is your name, sweetums?” Tempo asked in his granny voice. “Oh, I'm Orange Sherbette. Nice to meet you.” “Oh, well, you should meet my grandson, Mind Tempo. I can see you two have a lot in common. He's also smart, charming, and pretty.” Orange giggled, “Well, I'll be scouring around the city looking for my reading glasses, you know, if you see him.” Tempo noted in his granny voice, “Well, I will let him know.” Orange walked off, passing by the Diamond Dogs as they looked at her with smirks. Tempo gasped and hit them with a purse before walking away. Meanwhile, Virtue was wearing her tree hat and looked through her binoculars. Diamond walked pass Virtue until he noticed her, raising his eyebrow. He popped up from the bush next to Virtue and wore his tree hat. “Why are we hiding?” Diamond questioned Virtue. Virtue took off the binoculars, “No reason. Just seemed like a nice day to wear a tree hat.” Diamond looked at her and noticed that Virtue was lying. He scooted over and saw Rumble on the table playing his video game on his game pad. “Oh I get it now, you have a crush on a boy,” Diamond assumed. Virtue shoved him, “I do not.” She then admitted, “Aw, who am I kidding? He's got eyes that could melt a snow cone.” “And you're not gonna meet him by hiding here, so let's go.” Diamond insisted and pulled Virtue by the arm. “No, I don't want to,” Virtue rebuffed. Diamond told her, “Come on! It's for your own good.” “He looks busy.” “Just talk to him.” Virtue then punched Diamond by the gut. “I'M SHY, OKAY?” “That's so adorable.” Diamond gave her a thumbs-up before he fell down. Meanwhile, Beryl and Shining Star brought Cloudburst at the community center Star informed Cloudburst, “Okay. Kiss and Tell starts at 8:00.” Beryl continued, “Which is one of the fastest way to find a date to the movies is…” “Speed dating.” The two friends presented in unison as five pretty girls were waving at Cloudburst. “Uh…” Cloudburst stuttered. “Now, you have 30 seconds to talk to a girl, and get to know her before moving on to the next one,” Star continued. Beryl continued, “And we handpicked the guys so you won't have any competition.” Five boys with glasses and plaided shirts were waving at them as well. Cloudburst laughed, “I can totally take them.” “Now just go in there and be yourself,” Beryl advised him. “Got ya!” Cloudburst confirmed. “But not too much of yourself.” Star stated. “What does that mean?” Star answered, “You're honest which girls love, but sometimes you're a little too honest.” “You had onions today, didn't you?” Cloudburst questioned her. “I'm getting an onion-y stink.” Star proved his point, “That's what I'm talking about.” While Star covered her mouth to check her breath, Beryl informed him, “Now, the hardest part of any date is starting a conversation. So just go in there and tell her something interesting about yourself.” “Go get them,” Star and Beryl pushed Cloudburst to the speed dating event. The bell rang and Cloudburst started dating with a girl named Frosty Orange. “Here is something interesting about myself,” Cloudburst said while Frosty Orange wondered as he put on his hockey helmet. Frosty Orange became confused and Beryl rushed in to grab Cloudburst’s helmet. “No helmets!” He told Frosty Orange, “He hates helmets.” One minute later, Cloudburst moved on to his next date, Rose Heart. “Then I started taking my rash medicine, and it got mostly better.” Rose Heart was grossed out by what Cloudburst just said and Cloudburst started to feel itchy. Star and Beryl were disappointed and rang the bell for the next date to come in. One minute later, Cloudburst was talking to Mystery Mint while eating a bag of chips. Cloudburst’s voice muffled, “So then Beryl says, "I've got to get myself a girlfriend." And here you are!” Mystery Mint rebuffed as Cloudburst continued, “Now give me a kiss please?” Beryl and Star cringed while Mystery Mint shook her head in fear. Star grabbed a piece of napkin to clean up the mess while Beryl rang the bell again. Up next was Taffy Shade as the next date until Cloudburst belched loudly in front of her, blowing her hair like the wind. Taffy was disgusted while Beryl and Star froze. “Sweet! Now I can drink more!” Cloudburst continued to drink his smoothie while Beryl rang the bell multiple times. Throughout each minute, Beryl and Star were terrified to see Cloudburst doing a terrible job at speed dating. Minutes later, a fly buzzed around Cloudburst’s last date, Violet Blurr, and the fly landed on her nose. “Don't…move.” Cloudburst slowly grabbed a magazine while Beryl and Star warned him not to do it, motioning their hands back and forth. Unfortunately, it was too late and Cloudburst smacked Violet on the face and Violet screamed while his two friends looked away and cringed. Beryl rang the bell as Cloudburst threw the magazine away with the dead fly, but Violet retaliated by slapping him on the face before storming off immediately. Cloudburst smiled and waved until his friends turned to him. He asked, “So which lucky lady is going with me to see The Sketchbook?” “All of them!” Beryl exclaimed. “Just not with you,” Star told them as Beryl pointed his fingers to the right. Cloudburst looked to his right and saw the girls he dated were dating the other guys Cloudburst competed with. It was a harsh reality for Cloudburst and put his head down in defeat, groaning and sobbing in sadness. At the park, Orange Sherbette found her reading glasses on the floor and picked it up until she saw Mind Tempo. Tempo smiled, “Hi, are you Orange?” “Yeah, you must be Tempo. Wow, you look exactly like your grandmother.” “Oh, I get that a lot. But hey, I got you some flowers. Thank you for being so nice to my grandma.” Tempo gave Orange some flowers but unbeknownst to him was his mother on the bench pretending to read a book while watching her son. Orange responded, “Wow, she is really right about you.” “Oh, grandma.” Tempo chuckled. “Well, now that I can use my reading glasses again, I gotta go do some studying at the library. But um, we should hang out some time.” Orange told him. “Oh, yes, that would be… great!” “Great. I'll see you later. Bye.” Orange waved at Tempo and went to the library. Tempo waved back until he ran off and stumbled behind the bench where her mother was sitting. Gloria put away her book and questioned her son, “Please, tell me what is going on. I'm positive it is better than this book.” “I think I have a crush on the girl, but the problem is that I am in a relationship with Watermelody, and, um… HELP!” “Well, this one is not going to be easy honey. You have to tell Orange that you are in a relationship with Watermelody.” “What is with you parents and telling the truth all the time?” Tempo scoffed as his mother raised her eyebrow on him. Tempo took it back, “Fine, fine, I'll go talk to Orange, okay?” Gloria nodded until Tempo answered, “Later.” He ran out of the park while Gloria rolled her eyes. Back at the community center, Virtue and Diamond were spying on Rumble reading a comic book while eating fruit snacks. Diamond informed her, “Virtue, when it comes to love, I'm like a doctor... of love. Now we stroll over there. I start a conversation, you jump on in, and before you know it, he'll have a crush on you.” “And you will be there the entire time so there are no awkward pauses?” Virtue asked. “Of course. Now let's go.” Virtue and Diamond entered the pool area and approached Rumble’s table. Diamond whistled and acted naturally until he greeted the kid, “Hey! Cool comics. Can we check them out?” Rumble answered, “Yeah, sure.” While Diamond put Virtue on the chair, Rumble introduced himself, “I'm Rumble.” “I'm Diamond. And this is Virtue. Eh…” Diamond said until he took his eyes off on Desert Sage. “And I'm going to The Sketchbook with that girl tonight. Bye.” “Wait, wait…” Virtue pleaded and Diamond ran off inside to find Desert. Virtue was on her own with Rumble. They both smiled awkwardly until Rumble asked, “Would you like a fruit snack?” “Sure. They're my favorite. You play Tirek's Revenge?” “Yeah. Wanna link up and play?” Rumble asked. Virtue brought out her game pad and started playing the video game together. Back at Tempo’s house, Cloudburst lied down on the couch feeling gloomy while Shining Star and Beryl hatch another plan. “Okay. Different approach. What kind of girl are you looking for?” Cloudburst answered, “Yes.” Beryl told Star, “He's not picky. That's good.” “Okay. What do you have to offer a girl?” She asked. “Ooh, I like origami. I love to cook, and I respect women's feelings.” “I'm telling you... on paper, he's a total catch.” Cloudburst called them, “Hello.” Beryl informed Star, “You stay here and get Cloudburst for the best double date ever, and I'm going to find your dream girl.” “Oh, sweet!” “Whoo!” Beryl cheered and exited the door on the way out. Cloudburst turned on the TV and saw a promo of Shining Star’s show. “On the next episode of Lakeside High...” “Hey, it's your show,” Cloudburst said as Star sat down on the couch with him. “Rachel gets a shocking secret.” The announcer said. Rachel freaked out, “I think Drake is in love with me.” “You know he has a girlfriend? Who's a… ghost.” Rachel’s friend told her as a ghost flew past Rachel and her friend. “I really like your co-star. Plus, she is super cute.” Tonight at 8. “Really? You like Jade?” Star asked. Cloudburst answered, “Oh yeah.” Shining Star then had an idea on her mind after hearing Cloudburst’s answer. Back at the community center, Diamond was holding smoothies for him and his date until he was stopped by an angry Virtue, crossing her arms. “Thanks for bailing on me.” Diamond apologized, “Sorry. My bad. But the good news is Dr. Love got a date to the movie tonight.” He waved at her date, Mulberry Cascade, who was lying on the beach chair and she waved back at him. “Oh, really? Thanks for bailing on me. Rumble and I hit it off. In fact, we're going to hang out tonight.” Virtue explained. “Great! Where are you going? Comic bookstore? Arcade?” Virtue told Diamond, “No we're going to see the new movie everyone is talking about... The Sketchbook.” She walked away and Diamond said, “Oh sweet. They're going to see The Sketchbook. The hottest make out movie of the year,” He slurped his smoothie until he realized the movie is too old for the kids and spat out, “What?!” Inside the main area, Tempo was sitting on the couch, holding his phone. “Okay, just gonna call Watermelody about the girl I met.” Tempo stated until… “Hey, Tempo.” Tempo screamed, startled by Orange’s voice and turned around to see Orange Sherbette who was video chatting with Watermelody on the phone. “Hey Tempo. Have you met Orange Sherbette? I helped her with her homework yesterday.” Watermelody told her. “Oh we met. I ran into his grandma. She had the nicest things to say about him.” Tempo frowned as Watermelody continued, “Oh, I bet she did. Speaking of grandma, where is she anyway? I would love to say hi.” “Uh, she went back home to Horsolulu.” Watermelody replied, “Ah, gosh, that is too bad.” “Yeah.” Tempo nodded. “Anyway. My family and I are heading off to a diner for lunch. I'll catch you guys later.” Tempo waved at her, “See you later.” The call ended. “Hey, so everyone is talking about that Sketchbook movie. Would you want to go tonight?” Orange offered him a movie date with Tempo. “Yeah, sounds great,” Tempo answered as Beryl, Shining Star, and Cloudburst entered the main area. Beryl greeted Tempo, “Hey bud.” He nodded back as Cloudburst mouthed words, telling Tempo that the girl looks pretty nice for him. Tempo’s reaction, not so much happy about it and exited the community center with Orange Sherbette. Cloudburst asked Beryl, “Oh, hey. wait, what's the surprise?” “I got you a date tonight,” Beryl showed Cloudburst his date, Tennis Match. “Sweet!” Cloudburst cheered. However, Shining Star was not happy. Beryl noticed an unhappy Star, “Why aren't you happy?” “I wasn't sure you were gonna find a date in time, so… I did,” Star showed them another girl for Cloudburst’s date, Jade. “Oh, awesome! I've got two dates now,” Cloudburst happily gasped, “That's why they call it a double date!” Star and Beryl shouted, “THAT'S NOT WHY!” Ah, ah, ah-ah, oh Ah, ah, ah-ah, oh With Cloudburst having two girls to date with, things were looking dire for them and they all facepalmed in unison. > Chapter 1 (Part 2) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- With two girls chosen for Cloudburst’s movie date, Beryl and Shining Star moved Cloudburst away from the girls to discuss. Beryl told Star, “Tennis is great, and I found her. So, Tennis wins.” While Cloudburst looked over the two girls, Star told Beryl, “Well, I know Jade. She's doing this as a favor, and she's great. I'd say Jade is greater.” “Really? Because Tennis is sweet, funny and loves video games.” Cloudburst agreed, “I do love video games.” “You haven't met Jade yet who works at the mall and loves… shoes.” “Oh, and she's completely hot.” Cloudburst also agreed. Star continued, “I think you want him to choose Tennis because, you think she's hot.” “I don't wanna date a hot girl, I wanna date you!” Beryl exclaimed as Star made a face at him. “Wow, that came out wrong, but Tennis is going on a date with him.” “Jade is.” “No, Tennis is.” “Jade is!” “Tennis is!” “Jade is!” “Tennis is!” “Jade is!” “Tennis is!” The two continued arguing and Cloudburst chimed in, “Guys, guys, guys, guys. Can I just pick now?” “This has nothing to do with you!” Beryl and Star exclaimed in unison. “Jade is!” “Tennis!” Meanwhile, Tempo was dressed up as a granny again at the park and called Watermelody to video chat. Watermelody answered, “Grandma. I thought you went back to Horsululu.” Tempo answered in his granny voice, “Oh, well I just came back to see if you and Tempo were doing okay, and you're still in a relationship with him.” “Yes, we're still a couple,” Watermelody answered. “Oh, that's so nice.” “Grandma?” “Hmm?” “Is Tempo feeling okay?” “Umm, to be honest with you sweetie, he is just worried that you and your family might not make it.” “Well, let me just say that no matter what happens, my family and I will be okay and I will always love you, Tempo.” “You must be the coolest girl in the world,” Tempo dropped the act and chuckled. “I know.” Watermelody ended the call. Tempo sighed in relief and exited the park. Meanwhile, Rumble knocked on the door and Diamond Glow, dressed up as a butler, opened the door. “Hey, is Virtue here?” Diamond answered, “Come in my boy. Come on in. Have a seat.” “Thanks, Diamond.” “Ah, please,” He whispered in Rumble’s ear, “Call me Mr. Diamond.” They both sat down on the couch across from each other and had a little chat. “Rumble. Virtue is very special,” Diamond then brought out a water gun. “She's like a sister to me. So tell me, what are your intentions?” He aimed the water gum at Rumble. “Um… to take her to a movie?” “Not to The Sketchbook you're not!” Rumble shook her head and raised his hands up, telling him "no". Virtue entered from her bedroom and all dressed up, greeting her friend, “Hi, Rumble,” She then turned her attention to Diamond and suspected, “What are you doing?” “Just having a little... man-to-man with Rumble here, huh?” Rumble nodded and Virtue sighed until she grabbed Diamond’s ear, twisting it. “Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow! Ouchie, ouchie, ouchie!” Diamond yelped in pain. “I like Rumble and you're scaring him.” Diamond wanred her, “Virtue, let me tell you something about boys. They're terrible people and I don't think you should go out with him. We're going to Coinky Dinky World, and then a movie. It's no big deal.” Virtue then told her friend, “Rumble, let's go.” Diamond loaded the water gun with a click with serious intentions, making Rumble a bit scared and ran away with Virtue. One minute later, he changed back into his casual clothes and went outside to find the kids until he saw Mulberry waving at him. He approached Mulberry and she told him, “Hey, I printed the tickets.” “Great.” “And I made us dinner reservations at this amazing Italian restaurant at the mall.” Diamond replied, “That sounds awesome…” He then saw the kids walking together, “…except we're going to Coinky Dinky World. They serve some great food in town.” “Well, as long as I'm alone with you.” The kids were heading towards the town area and Diamond told Mulberry, “Sit next to Rumble and Virtue? You got it.” Diamond took her hand and power walked together to Coinky Dinky World. “Um, that sounds good too.” Beryl and Shining Star dragged Cloudburst to the pool area of the community center where Tennis were located. “Okay. So we've decided to let you pick who you want to take on your date,” Beryl informed his bud. Cloudburst nodded, “Okay.” Then they went to the park where Jade was sitting on the table. Star continued, “You're going to hang with both girls, and then after getting to know them more...” “You can pick Jade/You can pick Tennis.” Star and Beryl stated in unison until they argued again. “Jade.” “Tennis!” ”Jade!” “Tennis!” ”Jade!” “Tennis!” They continued arguing at the pool area until Cloudburst broke the argument up. “Guys, guys, guys, guys!” Beryl and Star understood, “Right/Right.” Back in forth from different areas, Cloudburst began chatting with Tennis and Jade. “Do you like hockey?” Jade answered, “No...” Star mouthed words and made a heart sign. Jade corrected, “I love hockey.” Cloudburst gasped happily. “What's your favorite videogame?” Before Tennis can answer, Beryl whispered the answer in her ear until he stepped back. Tennis answered, “Doesn't matter as long as it's got weapons and violence.” Cloudburst gasped in excitement. Back and forth, Jade and Tennis answered Cloudburst’s questions, making him happy. “I think guys that do stupid stunts are awesome!” Jade said. “I think guys who wear helmets are awesome.” Tennis answered. Jade answered, “Corn dogs.” “Me too.” Cloudburst held up two corn dogs in each hand. Tennis said, “Corn dogs.” “Oh, yes!” After that, the discussion was over. Beryl told Star, “Sorry, but I think Jade is going to be lonely tonight.” “Actually I think Tennis will be the one flying solo,” Star said while Beryl scoffed at her idea. Tennis told them, “So, I guess I'll meet you guys at the movies tonight.” Beryl smiled and celebrated while Shining Star rolled her eyes. “I knew he'd pick Tennis!” Beryl cheered. Then, Jade stepped in and told them, “Okay. So I'll meet you guys later at the movies?” “Hmm?” Beryl responded. “Bye, Cloudburst.” After Jade left the pool, it was bad news for the gang. The two glared at a nervous Cloudburst and told them, “I couldn't decide.” “ARE YOU NUTS?!” Beryl and Star shouted. “I'm not good at double-dating!” Cloudburst explained. Evening settled in as Virtue and Rumble were chatting in their table while Desert Sage and Diamond were sitting at another table afar from them. Diamond looked at them to make sure nothing suspicious was happening. Mulberry told him, “I ordered us a milkshake with two straws.” “Very romantic,” Diamond complimented until he turned his attention to the kids’ table and saw the milkshake with two straws. “Too romantic!” Diamond panicked and grabbed their milkshake before rushing to the kids’ table. He put the milkshake on the table and said, “Looks like the waiter forgot one of your milkshakes.” He placed the straws on each shake while Virtue facepalmed. “There you are. Enjoy.” Diamond smiled and walked back to his table with Desert. Rumble was a bit freaked out and Virtue told him, “He was dropped on his head as a baby.” Rumble nervously nodded as Diamond sat back on the table with Desert until he watched closely on the kids again. “Don't you think you're being a little overprotective?” Desert asked. “Yeah, but the food here is great.” Desert turned on the little music player on the table to get Diamond’s mind off on the kids. “This song is so romantic.” “Yeah, you're right.” Diamond commented until he realized that the kids are going to turn on the music player as well. “How do we turn it off?” Diamond ran to the kids’ table to figure out how to turn off the music player. “Where…is…the…mute button?” He did not find the off switch, but instead he pulled the music player off by force and broke it. “There. Heh, that's better.” “No, it's not!” Virtue fired back, venting. “Come on Rumble. You can get a hot dog…” She shouted at Diamond, “AT THE MOVIE!” The kids exited the diner while Diamond put the broken music player on their table and went back to his table with his date. Desert said as their food arrived, “Great, the food's here.” “You know, the food here is terrible. We can get a hot dog at the movies.” “Uh, okay.” Diamond took her hand again and put his money on the table before leaving the diner immediately. The movie theater was packed with couples and they were getting their snacks before going inside theater room 8 to see the romantic movie, The Sketchbook. “Okay, one small popcorn, one small soda, and one small licorice.” Tempo delivered the snacks to Orange Sherbette. Orange replied. “Okay, I'm going to see if I can find some smaller containers.” Tempo nodded, “Okay.” Then, Beryl walked by and asked, “Hey, how is your new friend?” “She's awesome. You know Watermelody is still your girlfriend, right?” “Yeah, but I am not sure if she is going to make it to the movie theater though.” “Hmm, you sound conflicted. Good luck with that.” Beryl patted his shoulder and walked away while Tempo started thinking over. Meanwhile, Beryl approached Shining Star and Cloudburst across from Jade and Tennis, sitting on each table. He informed his pal, “The movie is starting soon. It's time to pick a girlfriend.” “I know, but they are both so nice.” He looked over the two girls. “Cloudburst! You have to pick now! So pick Jade.” “Tennis!” “Jade.” “Tennis.” “Jade.” “Tennis/Jade. Tennis/Jade.” Beryl and Star argued back and forth. Meanwhile, Diamond got two movie tickets and approached Desert. “There you are. The movie is going to be so romantic.” Desert smiled. “Not as romantic as... Daring Do’s movie!” Diamond told her which made Desert unhappy. “Which I've just got two tickets, too. Much more appropriate…” He whispered, “…for the kids.” The teens then saw Rumble and Virtue playing an arcade game at the arcade center. “A double date... to Daring Do?” Desert pointed out. “In 3-D.” “Yeah. This isn't gonna work out.” Desert immediately stormed out of the movie theater with anger. “Wait! We can still make out!” Diamond pleaded. Virtue and Rumble approached Diamond and she told him, “Hey. We're going to pass on The Sketchbook.” “Did you know that movie's full of people kissing?” Rumble shuddered in disgust. Virtue continued, “So we're just going to hang out in the arcade and go home with you guys later.” Diamond sighed in relief, “Oh thank goodness.” “Let's go.” Rumble walked off with movie snacks in his arms. Before Virtue went back, she went to talk to Diamond for a bit. “You know you were really annoying today with all of that overprotective stuff.” “Yeah, I know.” Diamond sighed. “Thanks.” Virtue hugged him. Diamond hugged her back and Virtue went back to the arcade. He sighed in disappointment and had no girl to watch the movie with until he grabbed a bag of popcorn from a random movie-goer to calm him down. “What?” Back to Tempo, he was conflicted on which girl to choose while Orange came back with a tray of snacks in her hand. He told Orange, “Listen, Orange, I don't know how to say this but...” “Watermelody is not here with you?” “I'm also my own grandma.” Tempo answered. “Yeah, I knew that, too.” Orange noted. “Listen, I know that you're in a tough situation, but I think you should call your girlfriend to see if she is okay.” “Thanks, I thought that if Watermelody and her family couldn't get back home on time, you would fill in for her. I'm sorry that I did not tell you about it earlier.” Orange understood him, “It's cool. I hope we can still be friends. If that's alright with you?” “Friends it is.” Tempo smiled. “I should go and let you talk to your girlfriend now, Okay?” Orange gave the tray of snacks back to Tempo and he nodded. “Thanks, bye.” Orange exited the movie theater. Tempo sat on the table and called Watermelody on the phone. “Hey Tempo.” She faintly sounded. “Hi, are you back home?” “Yeah, but I can't go to the movie theater with you tonight because I got a tummy ache. I must've ate a lot of food for lunch back at the diner. I'm sorry.” “Ah, no worries. I'll set up another schedule for our movie date next time. I hope you feel better.” “Thanks, Tempo. Have a good night.” “You too, babe.” The call ended. Tempo felt sad and grabbed a big container of soda from a random movie-goer to calm him down. Back to Cloudburst’s problem, Beryl and Shining Star continued to pressure Cloudburst into choosing which girl to go out with until Cloudburst had enough. “I pick Tennis!” Cloudburst answered. “Oh yes,” Beryl celebrated. “He chose my pick... I win.” Cloudburst nervously smiled at Shining Star and she smacked him on the back of his head. “Hey,” Cloudburst greeted Tennis, “I hope there's no hard feelings, Jade?” Tennis got confused and Beryl whispered to Cloudburst, “This is Tennis Match!” “Oh! You guys pressured me. And I got the names mixed up! I wanted the other Tennis.” “Huh?” Beryl and Tennis wondered. “No, I mean Jade!” Cloudburst pointed his finger at Jade. “What?” Star vented. The boys were in hot water as Star continued, “Well, you can't date her, because you're both idiots.” Beryl informed Tennis, “That is highly possible.” “What is going on?” Jade asked her friend. “I'll explain everything and apologize over shoe shopping.” “No. What about our date?” Beryl asked Star. “Tennis, would you like to join us?” “Sure.” The boys gasped and the three girls crossed their arms in disappointment, walking away from them. Cloudburst turned to his bud, “No kissy for Cloudburst?” “No kissy for Beryl either.” Soon, Diamond and Tempo joined in with sad looks in their eyes until Beryl and Cloudburst grabbed two snacks from another random movie-goer. Fun Time Rush said in unison, “What?” “So... do you wanna a kiss, again?” The actress asked. The actor answered, “Oh yeah.” The two characters kissed and made out again. FTR ate their snacks and groaned in disgust as they watched the movie without their dates. However, Diamond pulled up four tickets and whispered to his pals, “I still have four tickets to the Daring Do movie.” The rest of the three FTR boys thought it over and agreed. Beryl answered, “I'm down with that.” Cloudburst agreed, “Yes!” Tempo nodded, “Let's go do it.” They stood up and tried to exit as the movie-goers were bothered by them, trying to watch the movie. Diamond stumbled and the rest tried to move out of the way as the rest of the crowd complained while the movie continued rolling. > Chapter 2 (Part 1) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning, Fun Time Rush were at the studio at Golden Rock Records to record a new song while Shelly Shores and Golden Rock watched from the control room. [Beryl Fury, Diamond Glow, and Mind Tempo (feeling gloomy)] And right from the start You had to break up my heart Then Cloudburst suddenly stepped in to sing his part, but he's feeling cheerful. [Cloudburst (snapping his fingers)] And now I can't find all the pieces Yeah! “Cut! Cut!” Golden signaled angrily. “Cloudburst, this is a song about when a girl destroys your heart. So, why are you singing SO HAPPY?” Cloudburst answered, ‘Uh… because I'm happy?” “Cloudburst, just try to remember the first time a girl broke your heart.” Shelly told him. Diamond informed her, “Uh, for that to happen, he'd have to get a girlfriend first. He tried to have one yesterday at thr movie theater, but he failed.” The boys laughed until the mood changed for Cloudburst. “That's it!” Cloudburst shoved Diamond in response. Diamond fired back with a tackle and started fighting while Beryl and Tempo tried to break up the fight. FTR shouted indistinctly until Golden pressed a button labeled "Stop Fight" and the alarm buzzed. The boys covered their ears as it started hurting from the alarm. Shelly was impressed, “The new "Stop Fight" button works.” The boys fell down slowly until Golden stopped. He told them, “I'll make some changes to the breakup song and record you all later. Separately.” The boys agreed and nodded until Golden continued, “Until then…” Golden hit the "Eject" button and the boys were ejected out of the recording booth by a contraption Golden installed. “And the new "Eject" button works too.” Shelly noted. “Yep.” The FTR boys were at the community center to take a break. At the pool area, Diamond, Cloudburst, Tempo, and Watermelody were hanging out together in a table. “Ooh, how about her?” Cloudburst pointed to the girl across the pool. “Limestone Pie? She has anger issues.” The gang noticed Limestone putting on her hockey mask and brought out a chainsaw, making them scared. “Okay, how about her?” Cloudburst pointed to the little palm tree plant on a pot, relaxing on a chair. “That's a palm tree.” Tempo answered. Diamond chuckled, “Heh, she's mine.” “Well, I'm desperate.” Watermelody told him, “Cloudburst, love isn't just going to run up with a corn dog in one hand and a hockey stick in the other and throw itself at you.” “Well, I can't wait anymore. I'm going to talk to Limestone.” Cloudburst used his mouth freshener spray and left the table to talk to Limestone. Seconds later, Cloudburst ran away from Limestone with her hockey mask and a chainsaw in her hand. After that, Watermelody stood up and asked her boyfriend, “Hey, want to help me with my audition?” Tempo answered, “I can't. I'm going to the Solar Winds of Venus exhibit at the planetarium with Twilight and Donnie. You want to join us?” Watermelody rebuffed, “It's a really big audition. I play a princess bot who falls for this super handsome hair model spy prince.” Diamond suddenly popped up with his prince costume and said, “I am in! Give me an hour to absorb the script and get into character.” He exited the pool area and entered the main lobby where Beryl was located and read the script. He got into character and spoke the lines from the script to Beryl, “I don't care if she's a robot, but I am in love with her.” “Good for you,” Beryl said as Diamond exited the main lobby. Shining Star entered the main lobby and apologized, “Sorry, my scene ran late.” “But, now that we're together, I just want to say that I am sorry about what happened yesterday. So, I got us some smoothies as a sign of forgiveness.” Beryl held up the blue and pink smoothies on each hand. “I feel bad leaving you at the movie theater alone. So, I am sorry about that. And thank you for the smoothie.” Shining Star reached for the blue one but Beryl pulled his arm back. “The blue one's mine,” Beryl reminded her. While Shining Star was going to get the pink smoothie, she stopped as her phone rang. She picked it up and looked at the text. Star groaned, “Ugh. They just moved up my next scene. I have to go. But, this means I'm free for lunch.” “Picnic at the park.” “It's a date,” Star smiled and took the pink smoothie with her and exited the main lobby to shoot her scene for her TV show. Unbeknownst to Beryl was Quibble Pants and Virtue watching from the reception desk. Quibble reacted, “Ooh, somebody better jump in the pool, because they just got burned.” Beryl turned to see the two and Virtue replied, “What are you talking about? She just made another date for lunch?” “Don't you guys have anything better to do?” Beryl questioned them. “Cable's down till tomorrow,” Virtue answered. “But watching relationships succumb to the pressures of Canterlot or Applewood is pretty good,” Quibble explained. “Wow. Something we actually agree on.” Virtue agreed as the two gave each other fist bumps while Beryl shook his head and walked away in annoyance. “Plus, I got some friends of mine who can join us. They know a thing or two about these types of situations in a romantic relationship.” “Hmm, sounds interesting. Who do you have in mind?” Quibble asked as Virtue started thinking. Meanwhile, Cloudburst was alone at the park feeling sorry for himself. Cloudburst reciprocated Watermelody’s words, “"Love isn't just going to run up with a corn dog and a hockey stick."” He sipped his drink from a straw and was actually sitting in a table with a palm tree plant. He told the plant, “What do they know?” He facepalmed on his helmet, “I need a girlfriend bad.” Suddenly, a roller skating girl accidentally bumped into Cloudburst without warning. “Dude. Why don't you…” Cloudburst turned around to see a beautiful girl with a corn dog and a hockey stick in each hand. He dropped his jaw in awe and was infatuated by her appearance. The girl apologized, “I am so sorry. I should have known not to try to play roller hockey while eating a corn dog.” “I'm Cloudburst. I like summer breezes, winter snowstorms, and seeing cats get what's coming to them.” “I'm Minty, and I love all these things too.” The two were completely falling in love with each other after that. Meanwhile, Watermelody and Diamond Glow were dressed up in their costumes while rehearsing a scene for the audition at Tempo’s house. Watermelody said, “We mustn't! You're a hair model prince who's spying on my country. And I'm... a robot!” “If it's so wrong, why were you programmed to love?” Diamond took off his shades while Watermelody turned around. “But what about the bomb?” Watermelody gasped and they both saw a pillow attached to an alarm clock (portraying as a bomb) The clock was ticking and Diamond picked it up and threw it away. Watermelody read the script, “Then the explosion throws us into each other's arms.” They nodded and held each other’s arms. “BOOM!” Watermelody signaled. “Then we uh…” The two read the script and knew exactly what they're suppose to do. They tossed the script aside and kissed quickly. However, they kiss again in the heat of the moment until they screamed, realizing it was wrong. “What was that?!” Watermelody questioned Diamond. “It was in the script!” Diamond panicked. “But not that second one!” The two freaked out in unison, “Then why did you kiss me? No, you kissed me. NO! YOU…” In the middle of that moment, Tempo entered his house after going to the planetarium and greeted them, “Hey, guys.” Diamond and Watermelody screamed. “How's rehearsal going?” Watermelody panicked, “Uh, a bomb just went off and then my character runs away. BYE!” “Mine too. BYE!” Diamond also panicked and exited the house along immediately with Watermelody. Tempo was confused and shrugged it off until he still had a souvenir in his hand. “Ooh, Venus.” Back at the park, Beryl set up a spot on the grass for his picnic with Star and waited. Then, he got a phone call from Shining Star and picked it up. “Hey, I'm at the Canterlot Park.” “I'm still at the studio,” Star replied, still working at production for her TV show. “The show is doing really great, and they want me to go do some interviews. I'm sorry.” Beryl replied, “But I set up a really girly picnic and everything.” However, Star saw the limo driver holding up a sign that has her name on it at the studio. Star informed her boyfriend, “I'll be back as soon as I can. Bye.” The call ended and Beryl was all alone again until he saw Rainbow and Scootaloo sitting on their chairs watching. Rarity explained, “Now, the scorned teen wonders if this relationship will survive.” Sweetie Belle continued, “And rejection causes him to lose his appetite, and now his picnic will go to waste unless…” The two girls looked at the food on the picnic area. Beryl was annoyed by it and said, “Just sit down and eat.” Sweetie Belle and Rarity joined Beryl for a picnic and started eating the food for lunch. During that moment, Beryl saw Cloudburst at a distance, “Is that Cloudburst? In slow motion?” The Belle Sisters looked ahead to see Cloudburst and Minty running towards each other and held their arms out in slow motion. After that, they met each other and hugged. Together, they had fun playing hockey at Tempo’s house before going to the dentist, splashing water by the fountain, buying T-shirts, and eating corn dogs near Golden Rock Records. During that moment, Golden Rock was spying on Cloudburst with his binoculars. “Yes. Operation "Break Cloudburst's Heart" is going exactly as planned.” As Shelly entered the room, she heard what Golden just said. “Operation what?” Golden lied, “Operation nothing.” Shelly marched towards the window and saw Cloudburst with his date, Minty. She then realized what was going on and asked, “Don't tell me that you hired an actress to make Cloudburst fall in love with her so she would break his heart so thst he could perform better on the breakup song?” “Is that wrong?” Shelly crossed her arms, “What do you think, jerk?” Back at the community center, Diamond and Watermelody were looking through the window to see Tempo reading a book about Venus. Watermelody suggested, “We have to tell Tempo.” “See, that would be wrong, because then he'd know about it.” “Diamond, relationships are nothing without honesty. Tempo needs to know that his best friend and his girlfriend kissed. Now go.” Diamond looked dumbfounded, “Why me? Your lips weren't exactly innocent bystanders.” Watermelody weeped, “Please don't make me tell him, Diamond. I can't! I can't take the heartache!” Diamond spoke up, “Okay. Fine. I'll do it.” “Great,” Watermelody stopped acting. “I don't know why I don't book more acting parts. Let's go.” The two went outside while Quibble popped out of his desk as Virtue, Rarity and Sweetie Belle swung by. “Hey, anything new on the Beryl and Star front?” Sweetie asked Quibble. “Forget that. Wait until you hear what's going on with Diamond and Watermelody.” The girls reacted in excitement, “Get out!” Diamond walked naturally towards Tempo while Watermelody spied on him by the beverage table. “Hey,” Tempo saw his best friend. “Hey, buddy. What's up?” “Did you know that Venus is considered Earth's brother planet because of its similar size and shape? Kind of like galactic best buds who never let each other down.” While Watermelody listened, Diamond frowned, “Yeah, listen. There's something I have to tell you, uh, something that I am really, really sorry about.” “Then, dude, come on. You can tell me anything. We're best friends.” “Okay, good, Good. Then here it goes. I…” Diamond stopped and cleared his throat. “I…” Tempo was confused until Diamond said, “I… used your toothbrush.” “Oh, what?” Tempo stood up and reacted in disgust while Watermelody panicked and ran away. Back at Golden Rock Records, Shelly placed one of Golden’s music awards on the table in front of her manager with her baseball bat in hand. “If that girl you hired breaks sweet Cloudburst's heart, I'll break every one of your music awards.” Shelly threatened to use her bat on the other three awards at the back. Golden warned her, “You wouldn't dare!” Shelly uses a baseball bat and swings at one of Golden's awards as a demonstration. “Ah!” Golden screamed and one of his awards was broken. Then, Cloudburst and Minty entered the building. “Hey, guys.” Cloudburst greeted them while they hid their stuff. “I want you to meet my new girlfriend, Minty.” “Hi,” The two adults greeted his girlfriend. Minty replied, “Yeah, actually, Cloudburst, there's something I need to tell you.” With Shelly threatening to use her bat on his music trophy again, Golden immediately said, “You're thirsty, right? Cloudburst, be a gentleman and get your lady friend a beverage from the pantry.” “Anything for my sweetums,” Cloudburst smiled and ran off to the pantry while Minty held her arms up, telling him "What now?" “New plan. Do not break up with him,” Golden told Minty and then he told Shelly before grabbing his trophy back. “And do not break this.” “Well if you don't want me to break up with him, then what do I do?” Minty asked. Golden turned to his assistant manager and she answered, “Don't look at me.” Later, Beryl and Shining Star were back seeing each other at the pool until her phone rang. Beryl’s smile diminished and Star apologized, “Sorry?” Her boyfriend dropped the pool stuff and the two walked away from each other, blowing their date off again. With Quibble and Virtue watching with popcorn in their hands, Watermelody approached Tempo. “Hey,” Watermelody greeted him. “Hey,” “Are you mad about what Diamond told you?” Tempo honestly answered, “We're cool. I mean, I was a little upset at first, but he was honest with me.” “You were only a little upset?” “Hey, if he wants to put his mouth on something worn-out and gross, that's his problem.” “Excuse me?!” Watermelody exclaimed. Tempo blew a raspberry and continued, “I was about to dump it anyway.” Watermelody vented, “Oh, well, if you were going to dump me anyway, maybe I'm glad Diamond and I kissed.” “You and Diamond kissed?!” Tempo gasped, slamming his hands on the table. Diamond rushed in to calm him down, “Look on the bright side, now you don't need a new toothbrush.” The moment froze when Tempo balled up his fist and was ready to punch him with Diamond covering his face while Watermelody looked on in horror. “Ooh, this is getting good,” Quibble smiled and Virtue agreed as they were ready to throw a piece of popcorn in their mouths in a freeze-frame. > Chapter 2 (Part 2) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back to the moment where Diamond was going to get punched in the face. However, Diamond did not feel a thing as Tempo stopped and walked away while Watermelody watched in sadness. Diamond noticed and tried to talk to him, “Tempo, hey, come back, man! Let's talk!” “Boo! What a rip-off!” Quibble said. Virtue replied, “No, this is better. See, the rejected male storms off, while the backstabbing friend fears for the future of their friendship.” “Hmm, what about Tempo and Watermelody?” “Oh, they are toast!” Virtue answered. Watermelody listened to their conversation and called them, “Uh, hello? I'm standing right here.” The two shrugged and continued eating their popcorn. Later, Golden Rock discussed a new plan with Minty while Shelly poured fruit water into the potted plant. “It's simple, really. Just… don't break up with him.” Minty rebuffed, “But I can't, Golden. I can't just keep pretending to be his dream girlfriend for the rest of my life.” “WHY NOT?” Cloudburst came back and presented Minty her drink. “Another fruit water for my fruit cup.” “Oh, could you give me another, sweetie. I'm so thirsty.” “Okay,” Cloudburst ran back to the pantry. Minty gave the bottle of fruit water to Shelly and poured it into the potted plant. Then, Shelly had an idea. “Wait. What if we can get Cloudburst to break up with her instead?” Golden liked her idea, “Yes.” Minty had a second opinion on that plan. “Yeah, but Cloudburst is really in love with me. So far, he's given me a seven-page love poem, a bouquet of corn dogs, and a coupon book,” She presented her coupon book to Golden and Shelly. “…for Cloudburst Hugs.” Shelly commented, “Aww…” Golden suggested Minty, “Just be the worst girlfriend ever. Be bossy, spend all of his money on shoes, cry about EVERYTHING, and hate all of his best guy friends.” “Okay, and if all of that falls apart?” Shelly whispered the girl, “Be disgusting.” Cloudburst came back again and gave her a drink. “Here you go, babe.” Minty decided to follow Golden’s plan and pretended to be his worst girlfriend. “Ugh, I am sick of all this fruit water!” Minty threw the drink away. “Just buy me shoes. Now!” “I like shoe shopping,” Cloudburst commented. “Anything you want…” “Ugh! Take me shoe shopping now!” “Okay!” Cloudburst answered while being dragged by Minty. “Ah!” While the two adults looked on, Golden told Shelly, “Yeah, I give him two hours tops.” Back at the main lobby, Beryl sat on a chair feeling upset until Shining Star entered the building. “Okay, we wrapped for the day. I'm totally free. Now how about that date?” Beryl stood up and answered, “You blew me off at the pool, then at the park, then again at the pool.” Star apologized, “And I'm sorry. I mean, I love that my career is taking off. I just hate how it's making things so--” As expected, Star's phone rang again and it made Beryl frustrated again. “Unbelievable!” “Uh, that was your phone,” Star corrected him and Beryl realized his phone was ringing, not Star's. Beryl looked at the text on his phone and he told her, “I have to go to the studio. Oh, my one to your three.” They both grumbled and Beryl exited the main lobby and headed to the studio while Quibble Pants brought his popcorn and sat down with Virtue, Rarity, and Sweetie Belle with snacks in their hands. Quibble asked, “What did I miss?” Virtue told him, “Now Beryl blew her off.” “Ooh, nice twist,” Quibble commented. “Pass me a soda.” “Popcorn me,” Virtue ordered and she traded her drink for Quibble’s popcorn. Rarity commented while drinking her soda, “You know, that would've been a good angle for a soap opera show.” Sweetie Belle ate her popcorn and nodded, “Agreed.” Meanwhile, Mind Tempo was back in his house at the living room and he’s still feeling about his girlfriend kissing his best friend. Diamond Glow entered the room and called his pal, “Tempo, we need to talk about this.” Tempo turned his attention to him and replied, “Ooh, hey, there, pal. You're just in time to see "Asteroid Diamond"…” He grabbed a plastic rock taped with a photo of Diamond's face. “…crash into Venus, the planet of love.” Tempo crashed the rubber ball of the planet Venus with the plastic rock. “We got caught up in the acting. I mean, there was a bomb!” Diamond told him. Tempo motioned his arms, meaning "So what?" Diamond continued, “Then tell me what I can do to get back to being your friend.” “I don't know. Okay? I've never been cheated on before.” “What if we even the score, huh?” Diamond ran to his table and stood face-to-face with him. Tempo stood up and Diamond sadly brought out his comb. “Go ahead. Break my lucky comb.” As Tempo was making a decision, Rainbow and Scootaloo abruptly entered the room and sat down on the table. Scootaloo told the boys, “Hi, sorry to interrupt. Quibble and Virtue sent us to find you.” The boys were confused as Rainbow continued, “But we were thinking that the storyline might benefit from more action. Like, say, a duel?” “I like that,” Tempo liked her idea and proclaimed, “Broadswords at dawn.” “Isn't dawn really early?” Diamond reminded him. Tempo proclaimed again, “Broadswords at 11:00.” Diamond agreed to his terms until Applejack and Apple Bloom entered the room, “Sorry to interrupt again y'all, my sister and I have a better idea for you two to settle your duel.” “Then, what do you propose?” Tempo and Diamond answered as the Apple Sisters smiled. Back at Golden Rock Records, Minty and Cloudburst were back from shoe shopping as Cloudburst carried a lot of shoe boxes while Golden and Shelly became surprised. Minty ordered her boyfriend, “Tell them why we came back to Golden Rock Records, Cloudburst.” Cloudburst grunted from carrying the stack of shoe boxes and placed it down. “I just wanted a place to put down your shoes so I can buy you some more. Shoe shopping is awesome.” Golden widened his eyes in shock as Cloudburst opened one of the shoe boxes, “Oh, sweet!” While Cloudburst was distracted, Golden and Shelly signaled Minty to cry. Minty nodded and pretended to cry violently, making Cloudburst turn around and feel worried. Golden and Shelly gave her a thumbs-up. “What's wrong, pumpkin?” “I don't know,” Minty continued to fake cry, “I just cry all the time and for no reason at all.” Cloudburst understood her, “And that's how I know you care.” Minty stopped crying and asked, “Really?” While the plan failed and the two adults widened their eyes, looking astounded in defeat, Beryl entered the studio. “Okay, I'm here,” Beryl told Golden. Golden backtracked, “And your session is canceled, Cloudburst's friend.” He pointed at Beryl to Minty, reminding her what to do when she sees Cloudburst's buddies. Golden shoved Beryl and Minty grabbed him by the collar. “Ugh! I hate all of your friends.” Minty growled in anger and pushed Beryl aside. She hugged Cloudburst, “Only spend time with me.” She winked at Golden and Shelly, telling her that the plan is going well. Cloudburst agreed and hugged her back, “And I will. Until you see what nice people they are.” Minty looked worried and offered her hand for help. Golden pulled out a sign in his hand that said, "Be disgusting" while Shelly made a facial expression to look like she was disgusted. Minty nodded and made an armpit fart with Cloudburst's arm to make him look like he farted. Cloudburst realized he farted and laughed in embarrassment. He told Golden and Shelly, “That was me. No more beans with that corn dog, please.” Golden and Shelly looked utterly disappointed as Cloudburst continued, “Let's go get some shoes, huh?” Minty looked worried and was dragged by Cloudburst to go shoe shopping again. After they left, Shelly commented, “That boy is so sweet. And that girl is going to win best actress someday.” “Ah!” Golden shrieked. Back at the main lobby, Beryl and Shining Star met each other again. Star became surprised, “Oh, you're back.” “Yeah, Golden didn't need me, Cloudburst's girlfriend scares me, and now we can…” Beryl paused for a moment to look at his girlfriend, “What's with the glamour?” “You said you had to go to Golden Rock Records. So I told my agent she could book another interview.” Star’s limo driver entered and held up a sign that has her name on it. She signaled him to wait for a minute and Beryl told her, “We can't keep doing this.” “But I have to focus on my show, and you need to focus on your music.” “And it's only going to get worse,” Beryl feared the worst as the limo driver honked the bicycle horn for Star and flipped the sign that said, "I'M WAITING!" Star sadly exited the main lobby while Quibble, Virtue, Rarity, and Sweetie Belle watched while eating a cupcake. “Whoa, whoa, what happens next?” Sweetie asked. Beryl sighed, “The troubled couple realize that having no time for a relationship means that there is no relationship and, I guess, end it.” Virtue stood up and told him, “Did you really think this is going to be easy? Shining Star is going to be a TV star. You're going to be a pop star. You're both going to be busy. But what's worse, seeing Star for one minute at a time or never seeing her at all?” Quibble added, “That 59 seconds is longer than any of my dates.” Beryl understood Virtue’s point and he replied, “You know what, you are right again.” He patted Virtue on the head and walked off to prepare for another date with his girlfriend. Rarity approached her and asked, “What do you want us to bring to the show?” Virtue answered, “Surprise me.” “All right,” Quibble answered and the gang exited the lobby except Virtue. Minutes later, Mind Tempo and Diamond Glow wore their cowboy outfits and stood face-to-face, glaring against one another in a Western style duel. The bird squawked as the residents at the park took cover or ran away while Quibble, Rainbow, Rarity, Applejack, and the CMC watched with their 3-D glasses. Diamond told him, “Didn't have to end this way, pal.” Tempo replied, “Didn't it?” One minute later, the duel began. “DRAW!” Tempo called. The two opponents grabbed their straws and started spitballing paper against one another like bullets. They kept dodging each other's shots until they grabbed a piece of paper and chewed it before reloading. Seconds later, the two opponents started firing again, but kept dodging and misfiring residents, still, they apologize to the residents. While the duel continued, Virtue commented, “Whoa. The 3-D on this is amazing.” Rainbow nodded, “I totally agree with you, 120%.” “It's like the spit balls are coming right at ya,” Quibble said until he got hit on the face by a spit ball. “OW!” Then, the rest of the Rainbooms and Turtles came by and Raph asked them, “What the shell is going on around here?” Apple Bloom turned to the rest of their friends, “Howdy, fellas. We're watching a duel.” Mikey and Pinkie happily gasped. “Awesome! Popcorn me,” Mikey ordered. “Me too!” Pinkie said and the two joined Virtue's gang to watch. Suddenly, Raph got hit by a spit ball and yelped, “OW! That's it! I'm ending this right now!” Applejack, Rainbow, and the Turtles contained Raph from interfering. “Whoa! Easy, Raph. Let them settle this,” Applejack informed him. Virtue promised them, “We'll explain everything when the duel is over.” Raph calmed down and said, “Okay. But if that happens again, I'm ending their little squabble.” “Alright,” Scootaloo acknowledged. The two opponents continued spitballing with paper and straw until they started to get tired, falling down slowly. Diamond told him, “I can't hurt you. You're my friend.” Tempo replied dryly, “Same here. Plus, I don't... I don't have any spit left.” They coughed and lied down on the grass in defeat as Quibble, Virtue, Rainbow, Rarity, Applejack, Mikey, Pinkie, and the CMC took off their 3-D glasses. “We cool?” Diamond offered. “Yeah, we're cool,” Tempo agreed. The two shook hands with one another and became friends again. “I'm glad that everything worked out for them,” Spike stated. Virtue narrated, “So in the end, friendship prevails, but Tempo still has to confront his relationship with Watermelody.” Quibble nodded, “Could you do it after 3:00? I've got some paperwork to do.” Diamond and Tempo were confused after that. Back at the community center, Cloudburst was setting up the food on the table at the pool area for his lunch date with Minty until Shelly Shores entered the area while dragging Golden Rock by the collar. “Cloudburst, Golden has something that he needs to tell you.” Shelly told him. Golden explained the truth to Cloudburst, “You didn't meet Minty by accident. I hired her to make you fall in love with her and then break up with you so you could sing the breakup song better.” Shelly angrily nudged Golden by the arm and he apologized, “And I'm sorry.” “Is that true?” Cloudburst asked, feeling upset. As Golden was about to answer, they heard Minty's voice, “No. No. No. No.” Minty stepped in and answered, “I mean yes, but no. I mean, look, when I was acting so awful, you were so sweet. And, look, I know this might sound strange, but do you think we could try again, for real this time.” Cloudburst took a minute to think about it and stood up from his table. He answered, “Well, then. Would you like to have lunch with me?” Minty gladly answered, “I would.” The two sat down on the table and enjoyed their lunch date together while Golden and Shelly looked on. Golden called his assistant manager, “C'mon, Shelly, let's get back to work.” “On what?” “A new song.” Golden grumbled and walked away while Shelly smiled at them and followed Golden back to his studio. Back at Mind Tempo's house, Watermelody and Tempo discussed about what to do with their relationship. “I don't understand. You forgive me but you're breaking up with me?” Watermelody questioned. Tempo explained, “Watermelody, 96% of all first romances end in breakups. You kissing Diamond gives us the perfect opportunity for us to get ours out of the way now.” “And you're not sad about it?” “Yes, but, I'm going to mask my pain by buzz-cutting my hair, joining a gym, and nicknaming myself, "The Island".” Watermelody asked him, “But can we be friends?” Tempo sighed and stood up from the couch. “Friends it is.” They both shook hands until Watermelody asked again, “Uh, maybe we could hug too? I mean, friends hug, right?” “It is the friendly thing to do.” The two hugged it out and felt a connection between them until they kissed for a moment. One minute later, they stopped. “Ah, yep. Friends it is.” Tempo felt flustered and cleared his throat. Watermelody and Tempo were satisfied that they’re friends again while Quibble, Virtue, Rarity and Sweetie Belle watched. “So, are they back together?” Quibble and Sweetie Belle asked. Rarity answered, “Hard to say. Must be one of those on-and-off-again things.” “Hmm,” Quibble nodded. Virtue agreed, “Well, I'm glad everything worked out for my big brother and Watermelody.” Quibble then looked at the time on his watch. “Ooh! Beryl and Star!” The four exited the house and went to the park. Beryl and Shining Star met up at the park for their date. Star informed him, “The studio pushed up on my scene.” Beryl told her, “Golden's making us record a new song.” “Let's go,” The couple said in unison and set up the picnic date together quickly. First, they started eating lunch together and the limo driver held up a sign that said, "30 more seconds!" The two stood up and started playing frisbee together. After that, Beryl started drawing a picture of his girlfriend holding a flower on a sketchbook. He showed the drawing to her after it was done and she liked it. The limo driver held up another sign that said "Dance Party!" and the couple started dancing together until the limo driver held up another sign that said "Time to kiss!" Beryl and Star kissed to end their date. Star gladly told him, “This was fun.” Beryl happily replied, “Best one minute date ever.” The two teens walked back to their respective jobs while Quibble, Virtue, Rarity, and Sweetie Belle applauded them. Quibble cried, “That was so sweet.” “I know, right?” Rarity shed some tears as well. Virtue handed them tissues and told them, “Oh, stop your blubbering you two.” “Thank you,” Quibble and Rarity grabbed a tissue to wipe off their tears. Back at the studio, FTR were back at the recording booth with new lyric sheets on hand. Golden informed the boys from the control room, “Okay, with all the recent "love" around here that you're having so much fun with, I've decided to dump the breakup song to the boyfriend song.” Diamond told him, “But I'm not anyone's boyfriend.” “Don't start. Just sing.” Golden ordered while Diamond rolled his eyes in annoyance. FTR started recording their new song together and it soon became a hit. The next night on Valentine's Day at Equestria Land, FTR recorded a music video for their new song, Boyfriend. Throughout the night, FTR hung out with their dates except Diamond and a palm tree plant. Plus, the Rainbooms, Shadowbolts, Dazzlings, Amethyst, Flash, Timber, Keno, Casey, April, Karai, Shini, the Turtles and all of their friends had fun at Equestria Land as well. After their music video, Diamond went on a date with Fleur De Lis with the palm tree plant at the Ferris Wheel, Tempo won a teddy bear for Watermelody from a carnival game, Beryl and Shining Star ate cotton candy together while exploring around Equestria Land and Cloudburst went on a date with Minty who was holding a big dog plushie. Cloudburst chuckled, “I can't believe that you were acting the whole time.” Minty laughed, “Are you kidding me? I hate shoe shopping, I never cry, and I try not to be disgusting.” The two laughed and arrived at the corn dog concession stand. “Two corn dogs, please.” Cloudburst ordered. While the corn dog maker gave them two corn dogs, Cloudburst continued, “And you know the best part? Is that now I get to know the real you.” Minty smiled, “Yeah. One more thing. I hate corn dogs.” Ah, ah, ah-ah, oh! Cloudburst had a second opinion on that and felt upset. He told her, “Yeah. This isn't going to work out.” He sadly waked away with his corn dog while Minty got confused after that.
