We all know about the Changlings, but do you know of the Changling with yellow eyes?
There once was a Changeling that had rivaled Queen Chrysalis, not in magic but in power. He served as the Queen's right hoof in command, and did what ever she told him to do. Though, what made him be different from the rest? What allowed him to become so powerful? He is a Changeling unlike any other, having defeated most Changeling warriors and having rocks turned to rubble in seconds.
The following Events were taken place 1500 years before the time
Twilight met her friends
Deep within a cave on the outskirts of Equestria, Queen Chrysalis was frantically searching for something.
"Where is he?! He shouldn't keep me waiting this long!"
A royal Changeling stepped forth and spoke "Uh, Your Majesty-"
"What?!" Chrysalis responded with a hiss
"He was last seen near the rock field located west of here...I do believe that he didn't get your message at the time."
"Bah! I may be a forgiving type for this but I've almost had it! I'll give him five more minutes before I go searching for him again..."
A voice from the east side of the cave spoke "Why go after me when I'm already here?"
Queen Chrysalis looked over to the voice and said "Well...It's about time-"
A figure came into view as shining yellow eyes with slit pupils that seem to pierce the blackest of nights came forward. A pair of horns was on his head as they swirled around each other and separated at the end, his mane was a similar color to Chrysalis's but seemed to be gelled back and short, his tail was long and curved,his coat was that of a regular Changeling, his bug like wings were folded on his back. A smooth smile ran across his face as long fangs was sticking out from the end of his mouth.
"-Fiasco"
Fiasco laughed "What do you need me for this time? To fetch you a glass of water? Or perhaps you need me to massage your back?" he continued laughing quietly
Chrysalis snapped at him "Hush your mouth! I called you here because we have received word that there will be a new Castle for Equestria, far over to the south of here, that will rise soon. This castle is called 'Canterlot', I need you to go over there once it's completed to scout the area and look for any means for us to sneak in and take over."
Fiasco laughed madly "Finally! Something to do other than beat up the other Changeling warriors around here! When will I begin?"
"In three days time will the final pieces be put together for Canterlot."
"Gives me more time to hone in on my skills." Fiasco turns and walks away
Chrysalis asked "Where do you think you're going?"
Fiasco turned and said "Back to the rock field so I can get my strength up, where else?"
"Why not go to the training grounds and practice on the fighting dummies there?"
"Their too weak, breaks off on a single kick" Fiasco turns again and walks away.
Chrysalis leans her head over and whispers to a Changeling "Follow him, make sure he's ready for when he goes to Canterlot"
The Changeling nodded and silently followed Fiasco.
Chrysalis sighs and sits on her throne "I sometimes worry about him"
Fiasco walked back to the Rock field, many of the rocks placed there was in rubble. The Changeling that followed him was well away from Fiasco for it knew about his power and might, but it doesn't know how he attained it. Fiasco stopped at a nearby boulder and looked at it, he then started to attack it blow after blow. The boulder already had a giant crack when he hit it the first time. After about ten hits the boulder breaks into large rock pillars, six of them in total. Fiasco looks over to where the Changeling was hiding, but looks back at rock pillars and makes them to be set up in a circle around him with magic.
The Changeling was hiding behind a nearby tree, watching what fiasco was doing with it's shining light blue eyes.
Fiasco places the last pillar and looked at the tree, he put a hoof up seeing if it was going to hit it. He then jumped up and started to attack the pillars in lightning quick movements, he was nothing but a blur as the pillars began to crack. Then in one swift movement, Fiasco spun around and broke off all the pillars tops and smashed their bottoms leaving nothing but rubble in their wake. He jumps onto a pillar top and watches the tree get closer and closer.
The Changeling saw the pillar top coming at it and moved out of the way.
There was a mass explosion of dirt and dust flying everywhere, the Changeling coughed and moved to try and get out of the smoke. It got out but only to have Fiasco's horns at it's chin.
"I knew someone was following me...I'll give you ten seconds before I kick you to the next boulder and squash you like the little bug you are.."
The Changeling gulped and tried to speak "U-Uh, Q-Queen Chrysalis told me t-to follow you and w-watch you to make sure t-that you were ready to go to C-Canterlot...."
Fiasco sighed and said "I swear...she acts like I'm her child sometimes..." he takes his horns from the Changelings chin and looks at it
The Changeling was shivering but it calmed done shortly after a little while.
It then asked "W-Why do say that?"
Fiasco responded "Because, ever since I first met her she has been wanted to keep an eye on me in case something bad should happen....plus she thinks I may think that I'm worthy enough to be her King HA!"
The Changeling looks at him confusingly and asks "Why?"
Fiasco looked at the Changeling with the stare of death and said "Because I rival her in power, she thinks that there should be a Queen with powerful magic abilities and a King that can break diamonds with his hooves to rule all the land".
The Changeling stepped back when Fiasco gave it the stare of death. A silence came over them for a couple minutes.
The Changeling asks "How did you attain your power?"
The Changeling and Fiasco sat down by the broken tree, a piece of a rock pillar was sticking out behind the tree.
Fiasco cleared his throat and started to speak
"It all started when I actually hatched, I was completely different from the other Changelings around me. I had yellow eyes instead of light blue and had two horns that slightly swirled each other. During my youth, I was bullied by many of the Changelings. Calling me names like 'Imposter', 'Alien', or even 'Monster'. I was as well hurt by them, pulling out my mane hairs, and them trying to rip off my horns.
I was so angry at them, I hit one of the Changelings that came near me to bully me more and they went flying to the end of the cave. I wasn't bothered by them anymore, but no one would come near me, like they feared that I may harm them like I did that one Changeling. One day they came back, with older Changelings that knew about me. They pinned me to a wall and started to beat me up like I was some kind of rag-doll, some of my teeth broke or was moved to a point that the pain was unbearable.
That's when...I discovered my power to gain incredible strength. I blew back the older Changelings and broke both of their fore legs, I then attacked the others. But I was stopped by the Queen....she picked me up with her magic and brought my face to hers and told me to stop it. She seemed to be around my age as well, a little older though.
Ever since that time, Chrysalis took care of me and stopped the bullying. She acted a lot like a mother to me and made me right hoof in command because of my power. She was the first to hatch which made her Queen...though she didn't like the first male to hatch, he was one of the bullies that was picking on me when I first hatched."
The Changeling asked "What do your teeth look like now?"
Fiasco showed his teeth, they were all jagged and sharp and out of place, some even being broken off.
The Changeling gulped and Fiasco continued with his story.
"As I spent time as Chrysalis's right hoof in command, I trained to control my power on the new fighting dummies that had been ordered to be made for the warriors. After about an hour the first one I beat upon was nothing but twigs and rubble, I had to find something better. Something more of a challenge, like a dragon. I was being overconfident and started to search for a dragon to kill, many upon many hours flew by as I tried to find a dragon.
I finally found a dragon sleeping within a cave in a very creepy forest, I wanted it to be awake so that I could fight it with honor. But when I woke it. IT. WAS. MAD! It swiped it's claws at me first thing and I got a large cut on my side. I kept dodging it's claws when it suddenly stopped and floated around confused. I looked at it wondering what was up and I heard Chrysalis's voice calling me to come back, now.
After running away from the rampaging dragon, we stopped at a cave outside the forest. I turned to say thanks to Chrysalis, but....I get slapped before I could say anything... she then scolded me for doing that and told me not to ever do that again. I told her 'why should I listen to you?'. She then told me that I was going to be the king of her kingdom. I didn't even know what to say to that, but then I disbelieved it and told her that she's crazy, that I could never be a king.
She slapped me again and told me to just suck it up and be her king."
The Changeling interrupted "Uh, sorry to interrupt but.....it sounds like she sorta likes you"
Fiasco gave the Changeling the stare of death again and said "Interrupt me again and I'll gut you and feed you to the fishes..."
The Changeling's eyes grew small and it hushed for the remainder of the story.
Fiasco cleared his throat again and said "As I was saying..."
"She told me to suck it up and be her king. I again disbelieved her, but remained quiet in hope she won't slap me again. But she asked if I would be her king, I said I'd think about it, and I'm still thinking about it to this day. After we go back to our cave, I was given treatment for my wound. I walked around the cave to find something to try and control my strength on. I soon found the Rock field and started to train here. After the first day, I didn't really break any of the rocks and my hooves were very sore, but I didn't give up. I then spent the rest of my days training and taking commands from Chrysalis. The reason why I'm so strong is because I've trained for most of my life and I have a kingdom to defend as well..."
The Changeling remained silent.
Fiasco says "Uh....you can, speak now."
The Changeling then said "Well...It sounds like you're more than ready to be a king"
Fiasco laughs "Like I can make decisions for the entire kingdom! HAHAHA!"
The Changeling then says "I mean it, you seem to have a mind like that of a captain! I'm sure you'd be fit to be a king!"
Fiasco looks at the Changeling and says "Yeah, I know but..." he looks to the rock field "To be a king means that you have to to either marry or fall for the princess or Queen.....You know, how come Queens get to be called 'Queens' when they don't have anyone they're married to..."
The Changeling blinks and says "I've never thought about that..."
Suddenly a Royal Changeling appears infront of the two and says "Fiasco, Queen Chrysalis needs you about the Canterlot case."
Fiasco stands up and says "Right!" he then walks away back to the cave.
Fiasco got to the cave when he heard that Queen Chrysalis called for him about his mission to the new foundry of Canterlot. When he got to the Queen's throne there was lines of Changelings beside it, as if standing by waiting for something.
Chrysalis, after seeing that Fiasco came into view, says "Fiasco, it seems that our information was wrong and that Canterlot is already made. So instead of waiting three days, you shall depart now along side a Changeling that will guide you to Canterlot."
Fiasco responded "Right. By the way, who messed up?"
Chrysalis sighed and said "The only navigator we have...didn't do a very good job of scouting."
Fiasco turned and started to head out of the cave.
Chrysalis says "The Changeling will meet up with you twenty thousand meters south of the cave. From there follow them and they will lead you to Canterlot, they are ordered to come back after showing you where it is."
Fiasco simply nodded and continued out of the cave.
Chrysalis sighed and whispered quietly to herself "Just be careful..."
Fiasco walked across the landscape, most of it like a desert with little plant life growing out. He continued forth into the southern region of the Changeling land, stopping to get a drink of water here and there. He met up with a Changeling with a scar going through it's eye and was wearing makeshift armor.
The Changeling said with a slightly deeper voice than most Changelings "You're Fiasco, correct? I'm the Changeling that is going to guide you to Canterlot. I have only one rule: If you get lost without me, you're finding your own way back. Do I make myself clear?"
Fiasco nodded and followed the Changeling that acted like a general. They walked across the landscape, coming to a place where the desert meets grass plains. They walked past many trees that bared fruit, and bushes with berries.
Fiasco then said "Wow...this land seems to have more food than we do. And that not saying much, we're low on food where we are at."
The Changeling responded "Yeah, that's why I reside to the wilderness out here. So that I can find my own foo- get down..."
The Changeling knelled behind a bush and Fiasco did the same, a large thumping sound was heard in the distance. It grows louder and louder with every step, then a low growl was heard which was very familiar to Fiasco. A large green dragon head poked into view, looking this way and that, seeming to be looking for something. It continued to walk forward past the two Changelings, the ground shaking with every step. After it went past and was out of sight, Fiasco and the Changeling came out of hiding.
The Changeling then said "That dragon has some sort of grudge, it's been walking around for nearly forever trying to look for something."
Fiasco then said "Yeah, and I think it's for me. For that dragon is the same one I tried to fight many many years ago."
"Why is it looking for you?"
"I woke it up from it's little nap"
The Changeling lowered it's brows and said "Really? All that....for being woken up? Whatever, we're almost to the point where I can show you where Canterlot is."
The Changeling walked forward followed by Fiasco. They continued forth until they meet up with a manticore, both angered and hungry.
The Changeling says "Well....time to test out your power Fiasco, I want to see if what they say about you is true" it jumps up into a nearby tree and watches from afar.
The Manticore takes a swipe at Fiasco with it's tail, Fiasco hastily dodges. He jumps up and lands on the Manticore's back and stomps his hoof on it's head, causing unbelievable pain. The Manticore wraps it's tail around Fiasco and brings him to it's face. Fiasco then stabs the Manticore in the eye with his horns and was dropped. The Manticore held it's eye in pain, Fiasco charged at the Manticore and kicked it into the sky. The Manticore made a sound like that of a cartoon character being shot into the sky and was gone and out of sight. The Changeling jumped down and clapped.
"Well done Fiasco, now that that's out of the way, lets head to the spot where I can show you Canterlot."
Fiasco and the Changeling walked to a hill and stopped, the Changeling pointed it's hoof to the mountain well away from where they were at with a large structure on it's side.
"That is where Canterlot is, all the way up there. I've been there only once and it already has many guards on duty, so you'd best be careful on which form you're taking. Now I must make my leave and head to the Queen's cave, If you do not return within ten days we shall assume that they captured you. But we do already have Changelings there acting like the guards there, if one of them sees you be captured they shall inform us."
Fiasco nodded and spread his bug like wings and took off.
Once he was gone the Changeling said "I do hope you don't get captured....the Queen will be so angry."
Fiasco flew to the mountain, going through clouds, through rain, and hitting some flying creatures along the way. He lands just below the castle and changes into a white unicorn with styled black mane and tail.
"I hope this will fool them, it probably will..."
Fiasco walks up to the entrance of Canterlot and was warmly greeted, though disgusted by that Fiasco held it back and said hello. Fiasco walked through the large seemingly city like Canterlot, there was a castle in the middle of everything.
"Castle? This seems to be a whole city! But the castle over there seems like what they were talking about. I have to be careful as well, one false move and I could get busted." Fiasco thought to himself
He walked about Canterlot, avoiding any ponies that he may bump into and have his disguise ruined. He found the way to the castle, walking up to it he was stopped by a guard asking him a question
"Say, I've never seen you around here before. Are you new here?"
Fiasco then said "W-Why yes, I am new here. Just looking around, getting used to everything."
The guard then smiled and said "Alright, be on your way then."
Fiasco quickly walked past the guard "That was close."
He got to the Castle gates and went inside, most of the interior was still under construction. Over by where glass windows was being set was a white alicorn with long pink flowing mane and tail. It looked over to where Fiasco was at.
"Can I help you with something?"
Fiasco then says "Uh, I'm new here and wanted to know if I could be of any help."
The alicorn says "Well, your help is accepted. I am Princess Celestia. If you would follow me I would show you where you can help us"
Fiasco has just met Princess Celestia, she accepted his 'help' rather quickly and showed him around the castle. The interior was under deep construction, most of the bricks haven't been placed yet and decorations have yet to be placed, paintings lean on the wall and furniture were still in their packages. The place was a wreck and when the Changelings get here, it's going to be more of a wreck.
Fiasco followed Princess Celestia as she took him to the throne room.
"I need somepony to help with making this place more royal like. It's hardly a throne room without the proper decorations."
Fiasco then said "So, you want me to make this place more like a throne room than what it already is?"
"Basically, yes."
"Alright."
"I'll check up on you in about an hour, make sure you have at least a fourth of the room done." Celestia then left.
Fiasco looked around "Like I'm going to make this more like a throne room...but this is a perfect opportunity to look for a place to enter." he thought.
Fiasco looked all around, high and low. He couldn't find anything, then he moved the throne and saw that it was hiding a secret door. Fiasco opened it and a large mass of dust came out of the dark room beyond. Fiasco coughed and went inside, the door shut behind him and the throne moved back into place. He couldn't see anything past a few inches infront of his face, he bumped into walls that were turning to other passages. He moved carefully as he pushed away cobwebs, many bugs crawled under his hooves. After what seemed like forever he finally finds a door and opens it, to find himself infront of ten gaurds pointing spears at him. Princess Celestia came into view.
"I knew something was off about you, now tell me why you're here."
Fiasco blinked and looked behind them, it was the outside. He then slammed the door on them and ran back through the darkness. Smacking his face into walls one after another, he comes back to where he started and frantically tries to open the door to no avail. A light came from behind him that lit up where he was at, the walls were made of broken bricks and mold and was crawling with disgusting bugs. Fiasco looked around to see if there was a lever or something to open the door, but he found nothing like that.
"Give up, you're trapped" a voice from the other end of the passage way called.
Fiasco then started to push on the door with all his might, but it showed no signs of giving in. He then started to get angry and kicked the door, the door broke into many pieces and the throne was pushed into the next room. Fiasco then ran outside but to have rows after rows of guards blocking his path. Another Alicorn was standing infront, it had a blue coat and light blue mane and tail that was circular. Fiasco locked his eyes on the Alicorn and something jumped in his chest, causing his disguise to disappear.
He looked at himself and says "DARN! I'm busted!"
The alicorn soon yelled "Thou is a Changeling! Capture him! Don't let him escape!" the guards charged towards Fiasco.
Fiasco just smiled and said "Heh, time to let some guards guard their own grave." He charged at the guards with a devious smile.
Fiasco beat down the guards one by one, some having to get a hold of him but was thrown to the wall and outside the castle. He broke many of the guards bones and was at the top of them all with the greatest of ease. He suddenly get tackled onto the floor with many guards on top of him, a light shown from beneath the guards and they all went flying at once. Fiasco stood there glowing, as he slowly walked towards the Alicorn with the light blue mane. Most of the castle was in peices, being destroyed by Fiasco.
"Now for you, after that I will get out of here and be free once more."
Suddenly Princess Celestia came into view wearing some sort of jewels, she pointed her horn at Fiasco. Fiasco laughed and picked up his pace to the other Alicorn. A flash of white light shined and Fiasco felt his face burn. After the light dimmed Fiasco picked himself up from the ground. His face was burnt and it showed all of his teeth, all burnt as well. He felt something touch his chest and looked down to see a white hoof. He looked up to see Princess Celestia looking at him with an angry stare. Fiasco fell to the ground unconscious, with a white symbol on his chest.
Fiasco woke up in a dark, tall room. There was no decorations, only one door to be seen, and the walls were made of black bricks that didn't show any signs of wear. Fiasco looked at himself to find that he was wearing a metal face mask that was chained to the ground, metal legging that had claw like things on the front and it sunk into the ground where he was at, they were also chained to the ground. He tried to move but couldn't even move his leg in the slightest, he also felt very weak like his power had been taken away.
The door opened, and came in Princess Celestia. Fiasco tried to yell at her but the pain from the burn marks and the metal mask wouldn't let him.
Princess Celestia spoke "Welcome to your new home Changeling, deep under Canterlot, away from everything you knew. You won't be getting out of here, so just sit there and enjoy the view. My guards will bring you food every day, but one once a day. Enjoy your stay, cause you will never leave." she turned and left the room.
Fiasco moved his head in anger "GREAT! JUST GREAT! I get captured by STUPID PONIES! What will Chrysalis think of this?"
A few moments later a guard enters the room with a plate of food, an apple and some hay. The guard places it down and looks at Fiasco. It then changed form from a guard to a Changeling. Fiasco widened his eyes to see another Changeling.
The Changeling says "Well Fiasco, look at what you got yourself into. I will tell the Queen about this, all in detail. And when the time comes for us to come back and strike, we will bring you out of here. Now I'm not so sure how the Queen will react to this but we've got to risk everything right now."
The Changeling turns back into a guard "I will make my leave, it's been two days since you were defeated. Remember that." it left the room.
Fiasco used his magic to move the metal mask down and eat, disappointment could be seen in his eyes.
The Changeling that spoke with Fiasco had already made plans to have a break and leave, going back to Queen Chrysalis. It flew there, trying to waste no time.
Meanwhile, Queen Chrysalis was sitting on her throne, looking at the cave entrance with worried eyes.
"How long has it been?" she asks
A Changeling answers "About two days, he still has eight more days to come back. You need to stop worrying about him an-"
Chrysalis then snapped at the Changeling "How would you feel if you lost your only friend?!"
The Changeling stayed quiet, Chrysalis goes back to looking at he cave entrance.
Moments later the Changeling that spoke with Fiasco came to the cave entrance, Chrysalis sat up when she saw a Changeling coming, but her spirits were let down when she saw it was just another Changeling.
The Changeling soon said "Queen Chrysalis! Fiasco has been Captured!"
Chrysalis looks at the Changeling in both disbelief and fear "What?!"
The Changeling then said "It's true! Fiasco did find a way for us to make an entrance but was cornered and attacked, his disguise was compromised and was attacked by hundreds of guards. He was successful in beating the guards and in destroying most of the castle but was blasted with some powerful jewels which burnt Fiasco's face, he was then knocked out by Princess Celestia by her putting a white symbol on him. Soon after he was put in a jail deep under Canterlot, this all happened two days ago."
Chrysalis looked at the Changeling, her face was in fear, shock, and disbelief. She then lowered her head and started to cry.
The Changeling looked at Chrysalis and says "Your majesty? Did you really care for him?"
Chrysalis then yelled "Of course I cared for him! He was my only friend! And I saw something in him that would have made him king....but now....it's too late...."
She got up from her throne and walked to the cave entrance. She turned around and looked at all of her Changelings.
"They stole my love from me....so now, we steal every love and feast upon it. We shall feast on the love of everything! We are the Changelings! We shall destroy Canterlot and claim it as our own! We shall come back to get Fiasco back! We shall make our kingdom world wide!"
The Changelings roared in agreement and stomped their hooves on the ground. Chrysalis turned to the outside and stared off to where Canterlot is.
"He shall be mine once more....Nothing will stop me from getting him back. I will love no one else and shall feast upon the ponies love. For I am Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings."
To this very day, Fiasco has yet to be saved and still lurks within that deep prison.
He still lives and seeks revenge upon the ponies that captured him.
And, like a spell, He attained the thirst for love and wanted to feast upon it.
He has been feeding off the guards that come to him, getting stronger each day.
It will be only a matter of time, before he escapes.
