He got a scar on his right eye from fighting General Grievous with Obi-Wan Kenobi during the battle of Kamino. Returned to his home planet of Equis to hide from the Empire after having a vision. > Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... STAR WARS THE EQUESTRIAN JEDI Jedi on the run! After Order 66 was issued to all clone forces, the Jedi Knights are all but destroyed along with the rise of the evil Galactic Empire. Charming Thunder, one of the Jedi's finest and the coming member of the temple guard, fled the Empire for many months with orders not to return to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. With a vision Charming Thunder had of his home planet of Equis, the young Jedi travels to the planet hoping to find answers of this vision and a place to hide.... > Chapter 1: Rise of Nightmare Moon > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A lone Delta 7b Jedi starfighter came out of lightspeed and detatched from its transport ring to fly towards the planet Equis. Charming Thunder wore a temple guard uniform along with the mask. He pressed a button on the ship's computer to destroy the ring so that no one will know that he is hiding there. He sighed as he piloted his ship to the planet's surface. "Well, home sweet home," he said to himself. His astromech beeped as the ship approached the castle Charming Thunder recognized in his memories. The sun was beginning to set. The cockpit opened as he climbed out to approach the door. He knocked as a guard answered to notice him. "State your business," the guard said. "I am here to see who is in charge." The guard looked behind him and then back at Charming Thunder. "Wait here." The door closes as Charming Thunder decided to meditate down the stairs. A couple seconds later the guard returned as Charming Thunder noticed. "Princess Celestia would like to see you." Charming Thunder nodded and followed the guard to the door to the throne room. The guard opened the door. "The visitor is here, your highness." "Very good," Celestia said. "Leave us." The guard bowed his head before leaving Charming Thunder in the throne room. He knelt down in the presence of the princess. "Rise, my subject." Charming Thunder got up and looked at Celestia. "I am actually not your subject," Charming Thunder said, chuckling. He then took off his mask to reveal his face to Celestia. He had a blue eye on the left and a scarred white eye on the right. She then gasped as she recognized his face from years ago. "Is that you, Charming?" Celestia slowly walked down the steps of her throne. "It has been too long, Aunt Celestia." Celestia then quickly pulled Charming Thunder in for a hug and quietly sheds some tears. "I've missed you so much." "And what of your sister? Aunt Luna? How's she?" "She's not herself right now." "What do you mean?" "I fear that she might refuse to lower the moon tonight. She wanted Equestria to have an endless night." "Why?" "She is growing bitter. I fear about what will happen if this keeps up." Charming Thunder placed his hoof on Celestia's shoulder. "I won't let that happen. I can convince her with you." "But why have you returned after so long? I heard from my dear sister once about a war in the stars." Charming Thunder then got a flash of a memory of the Clone Wars. He then shook his head. "The Clone Wars ended months ago." "Who won?" "The clone army the Jedi lead across the galaxy turned against the Jedi. I was one of the survivors of the Jedi Temple as I was about to become the new temple guard. That was when blaster fire was heard and the clones marched in and....killed everyone in the temple." "I'm sorry to hear that. What about your master?" "I don't know. All I remember is that Yoda was going to Kashyyyk to aid the wookiees in the war. I believe that he is now hiding somewhere now. I simply came here because I had a vision of doom for my home planet." "Please explain." Charming Thunder gazed at his guard helmet as he sighed. "In that vision, I saw a mare full of darkness in her heart. Her mane was flowing and was covered up with armor. She was standing over you while she was laughing in victory. Nothing else happened after that." "I fear that you might be referring to my sister." "I think so." Charming Thunder turned towards Celestia. "I can't let this vision come true." "Then let's change it together, nephew." Later that night, Celestia entered the throne room again where she believed Luna may be lurking and heard her voice ordering, "Not...another step!" Luna stepped out of the shadows with anger in her eyes. "Did you really expect me to sit idly by while they all basked in your precious light? There can only be one princess in Equestria! And that princess...will be me!" She stomped her hooves towards the ground which caused it to crack. She then breaks down the wall behind her and raised the moon in front of the sun, causing a solar eclipse. The eclipse's shadow envelops her, transforming her into something horrible. Her coat was now pitch-black and now wears light blue armor with a moon emblem on her chest, and a helmet on her head. She laughs before she blasts around the throne room with her magic. "Luna, I will not fight you!" Celestia pleaded. "You must lower the moon! It is your duty!" "Luna? I am...Nightmare Moon! I have but one royal duty now: to destroy you!" Charming Thunder enters with his mask on and has his blue lightsaber active in his hand. She then laughed. "Got someone to fight with you, dear sister?" "He is here to stop you!" Charming Thunder stepped forward and pointed his blade towards Nightmare Moon. "You may have the power, but you will loose yourself in the end," Charming Thunder said. "You must let it go and do your duty as the princess of the night. Not a monster!" Nightmare Moon fired magic at Charming Thunder but he managed to block it with his weapon. She then chases Celestia into the sky as Charming Thunder now has to watch. After several dodging moments of Celestia avoiding Nightmare Moon's magic, she finally hits her square in the chest. Celestia screamed and fell back down into the castle. She landed on the ground and Charming Thunder rushed to her. Nightmare Moon cackles above. He then sensed a magic blast heading his way from Nightmare Moon and quickly turned around to block it with his lightsaber. "Had enough, child?" Nightmare Moon asked. "Can you feel your grip on life slipping? Why persist in this futile gesture of peace? Join me." "Never! You have fallen to the dark side and you must be stopped!" "So be it then!" Nightmare Moon used her magic to make a sword appear in her hoof and then started to duel Charming Thunder. He blocked the incoming strikes before going on the offensive. He used the Force to lift a giant rock and throw it towards Nightmare Moon. She flew up in the air to avoid it. "I sense much hate in you, Luna. Stand down and you will stand trial." "I'd rather see you squirm." Nightmare Moon fired some magic at Charming Thunder as he avoided it. He then used the Force to grip her and throw her towards a wall to make her drop her weapon. As he pointed his blade at Nightmare Moon's face, she suddenly fired lightning from her horn to make Charming Thunder impact a wall across from Celestia who slowly recovered. She looked up at Nightmare Moon after gazing at Charming Thunder. "Oh, dear sister," Celestia said. "I am sorry, but you have given me no choice but to use these." A giant pedestal rose up from the ground containing stones with jewels on them. She levitates up with the stones floating around her and confronts Nightmare Moon. Charming Thunder watches as Celestia fired powerful magic while Nightmare Moon fired back in a clash. The magic from the stones proved to be more powerful with Celestia's combined as Nightmare Moon became engulfed by a rainbow of light and blasted to the moon creating an image of the mare. Celestia floated down and the stones returned to the pedestal before it went ack underground. "What was that?" Charming Thunder asked. "What did you do? The Force was strong with those stones." "Banished my sister to the moon with the Elements of Harmony. They were used when I defeated Discord with Luna." Charming Thunder gazed at the moon. "What happens now? Hope that when she comes back, we will be ready?" "She will be up there for a long time. Maybe when the time comes, she can be redeemed back to her old self." "I highly doubt it. There was so much carried towards you." Charming Thunder then pondered for a moment. "Will you be handling your sister's duties from now on?" "Yes." "I bet that your sister will return a thousand years later. I'll probably be old by then." "What if I could teach you how to live longer than normal ponies like an alicorn like myself?" "How long would it take to learn?" "It would take months. Besides, you are staying here forever, right?" Charming Thunder looked at Celestia with a smile under his mask and nodded. > Chapter 2: Summer Sun Celebration Preparations > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Thousand Years Later.... A unicorn mare went through a book in a library atop an ivory tower in Canterlot. "Ah," the mare said. "The Elements of Harmony, see; Mare in the Moon." She flipped to the page. she wanted to read while her little dragon assistant had a look of concern. "Mare in the Moon?" the dragon asked. "But that is just an old ponies' tale." "The Mare in the Moon, myth from olden pony times. A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal!" The mare gasped. "Spike! Do you know what this means?" "No." "Take a note, Spike." Spike took out a scroll and a quill. "My dearest teacher, my continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster!" "Hold on. Preci...preci..." "Threshold." "Threh..." "Uh, brink? Ugh, that something really bad is about to happen! For you see, the mythical Mare in the Moon is in fact Nightmare Moon, and she's about to return to Equestria, and bring with her eternal night! Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle." "Twi...light Spar...kle. Got it!" Spike finished writing the note. "Great! Send it." "Now?" "Of course!" "Uh, I dunno, Twilight, Princess Celestia's a little busy getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration. And it's like, the day after tomorrow." "That's just it, Spike. The day after tomorrow is the thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration! It's imperative that the Princess is told right away!" "Impera...Impera..." "Important!" "Okay, okay!" Spike then used his magic fire breath to send the letter to Celestia. "There, it's on its way. But I wouldn't hold your breath..." "Oh, I'm not worried, Spike. The Princess trusts me completely. In all the years she's been my mentor she's never once doubted me." Spike belched out a letter from Celestia with a reply. "See? I knew she would want to take immediate action." Spike cleared his throat before reading. "My dearest, most faithful student Twilight. You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely...but you simply must stop reading those dusty old books!" Twilight gasped at the reply from Celestia. On a chariot ride leaving Canterlot, Spike still had the same letter in hand as he continued to read it to Twilight. "My dear Twilight, there is more to a young pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year's location: Ponyville," he read. "And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete: make some friends!" Twilight groaned. "You will find a friend of mine in town who will also help you. His name is...Starwalker." Twilight gasped at the name. "Say that again?" Twilight said. "Uh, Starwalker?" "Oh my gosh! The Starwalker? I have heard stories about him. Some say that he was taken as a little colt off planet and then returned years later after some war he fought in." Twilight then shook her head from the thought. "But it still doesn't change the fact the prediction of the Mare in the Moon might return." "Well ,look on the bright side, Twilight. The Princess arranged for you to stay in a library. Doesn't that make you happy?" "Yes, yes it does. You know why? Because I'm right! I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library to find some proof of Nightmare Moon's return." "Then... when will you make friends, like the Princess said?" "She said to check on preparations. I am her student, and I'll do my royal duty, but the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends." The chariot carrying Twilight and Spike land at Ponyville. The two jumped off. "Thank you, sirs." The two royal guards saluted as Twilight and Spike entered town. "Maybe the ponies in Ponyville have interesting things to talk about. Come on, Twilight, just try!" Twilight noticed a pink pony and walked up to her. "Uh...hello?" The pink pony gasped dramatically and speeds off. "Well, that was interesting all right." Spike sighed. "Is there a meeting point for Starwalker to be at for us?" "It says that he should be--" "You must be Celestia's student?" a voice asked. Twilight turned to see the stallion himself. The same mask and armor as the book she once read at Canterlot described. "Twilight Sparkle, right?" "And you must be the legendary Jedi; Starwalker?" Twilight said. "I must say, it is an honor to finally meet a legendary warrior like yourself." She lowered her head for a bow. "Maybe we should get to know one another as we go through preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. Come. Your dragon friend should also have a list of places to go." Twilight and Spike followed Starwalker around town as they went to their first destination. As the three were approaching their destination, Twilight decieed to ask a question to Starwalker. "If I may ask, what made you leave Equestria?" she asked. "To be honest, I wasn't given much choice of leaving my home," Starwalker explained. "You see, I have heard that Jedi had to take young ones from their families to prevent attachments to the ones who the person cared about and it disrupt their training and can lead to the dark side." "That's sad," Spike said. "Did you remember anything about yours?" Starwalker stopped and looked at the blue sky for a moment. "No." Starwalker then shook his head as he realized that they arrived at their first stop. Spike looked at his list. "Summer Sun Celebration official overseer's checklist. Number one, banquet preparations: Sweet Apple Acres." Cheering was heard form a pony wearing a hat who was kicking a tree to make some apples fall into the basket. "Good afternoon," Twilight greeted. "My name is Twilight Sparkle--" She was interrupted when she felt a strong grip on her hoof from the mare shaking hers really fast. "Well, howdy-doo, Miss Twilight, a pleasure makin' your acquaintance," the mare greeted. "Well, howdy-doo, Miss Twilight, a pleasure makin' your acquaintance." Applejack looks at Starwalker and smiled. "I didn't know you were friends with the legendary Jedi." "We actually just met." "So, what can I do you for?" "Well, I am in fact here to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. And you're in charge of the food?" "We sure as sugar are! Would you care to sample some?" "As long as it doesn't take too long..." A triangle then starts to ring. "Soup's on, everypony!" A large group of earth ponies arrived to meet Twilight with some food. "Now, why don't I introduce y'all to the Apple family? This here's Apple Fritter. Apple Bumpkin. Red Gala. Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Caramel Apple, Apple Strudel, Apple Tart, Baked Apples, Apple Brioche, Apple Cinnamon Crisp...Big Macintosh, Apple Bloom and Granny Smith. Up'n'attem, Granny Smith, we got guests." Granny Smith was sitting on her rocking chair asleep until she heard Applejack calling her name. "What?" Granny Smith asked. "Soups on? I'm up, here I come, I'm coming." "Why, I'd say you're already part of the family!" Twilight nervously laughed. "Okay, well, I can see the food situation is handled, so we'll be on our way." "Aren't you gonna stay for brunch?" Applebloom asked. Starwalker walked up next to Twilight. "Come on, Twilight," Starwalker said. "Just at least give them a chance." Twilight sighed. "Fine," Twilight said, grudgingly. The Apple family then cheered after she accepted the invitation. The three then went back into town to go down the list. "Food's all taken care of, next is weather," Spike said. Twilight was still full from all of the pies she ate at Sweet Apple Acres. "I ate too much pie," Twilight said. "Hmm, there's supposed to be a Pegasus pony named Rainbow Dash clearing the clouds." "As long as she is not trying to practice doing tricks in the sky in the process," Starwalker added. "Well, she's not doing a very good job then, is she?" Twilight asked until a rainbow maned pegasus accidentally crashes on Twilight into mud. "Uh, excuse me?" the pegasus said. "Let me help you." She then brought a rain cloud and bounced on it to pour rain on Twilight. Her mane got all wet in the process. Starwalker tried to hide his chuckles. "Oops, I guess I overdid it. Um, uh, how about this? My very own patented Rain-Blow Dry!" The pegasus then flew around Twilight to dry her up. She then landed in front of her. "No no. Don't thank me. You're quite welcome." She then noticed Twilight's mane and tail all puffy. She then snickered and started laughing along with Spike and Starwalker. "Let me guess. You're Rainbow Dash?" "The one and only. Why, you heard of me?" "I have," Starwalker said. "Fastest flyer in Equestria." "Bingo!" "And was supposed to be keeping the sky clear." Twilight sighed. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, and the Princess sent me to check on the weather." Rainbow was now laying down on a cloud relaxing. "Yeah, yeah, that'll be a snap. I'll do it in a jiffy. Just as soon as I'm done practicing." "Practicing for what?" "The Wonderbolts! They're gonna perform at the Celebration tomorrow, and I'm gonna show 'em my stuff!" "I should've known," Starwalker said. "The Wonderbolts?" Twilight asked. "Yep!" Rainbow said. "The most talented flyers in all of Equestria?" "That's them!" "Oh, please. They'd never accept a pegasus who can't even keep the sky clear for one measly day." "Hey, I could clear this sky in ten seconds flat." "Be careful issuing challenges with Rainbow Dash, Twilight," Starwalker said. "Prove it," Twilight said, ignoring Starwalker. "Didn't say I warned you." Rainbow dashed around clearing clouds while Starwalker looked at his timer. When she stopped, he stopped his timer and looked at it to reveal that she cleared the sky in ten seconds exactly. "What'd I say?" Rainbow reassured. "Ten. Seconds. Flat. I'd never leave Ponyville hanging. You should see the look on your face. You're a laugh, Twilight Sparkle. I can't wait to hang out some more. See you at the celebration, Starwalker! Get an autograph ready for me!" Rainbow flew away from the trio as Starwalker waved. "Wow, she's amazing!" Spike said. "Shall we move on?" Starwalker asked. Arriving inside town hall, the three were looking at the decorations that were already put up inside. "Decorations," Spike said before looking at someone across from him. "Beautiful..." "Yes, the decor is coming along nicely," Twilight said. "This ought'a be quick. I'll be at the library in no time. Beautiful indeed." "Not the decor, her!" Spike pointed towards the unicorn with a curly purple mane and tail using her magic to look at some ribbons. "No, no, no, oh!" the unicorn said as she went through each ribbon. "Goodness no." Spike adjusted himself. "How are my spines? Are they straight?" Twilight rolled her eyes with a smile while Starwalker placed his hoof on Spike's shoulder. "A beauty, isn't she?" Starwalker whispered. "Rarity is popular here in Ponyville, you know." He then stepped up next to Twilight. "Good afternoon--" Twilight greeted. "Just a moment, please!" Rarity said. "I'm 'in the zone', as it were." Starwalker slowly shook his head with a smile behind his mask as he walked up to Rarity while using the Force to levitate a shiny red ribbon towards her. "Try this one, my dear," Starwalker said as Rarity examined the ribbon. "Oh, yes! Sparkle always does the trick, does it not? Why, Starwalker, you are a lifesaver! Now, um, how can I help you--" She yelped at the sight of Twilight's mane and tail. "Oh my stars, darling! Whatever happened to your coiffure?!" "Oh, you mean my mane?" Twilight asked. "Well, it's a long story. I'm just here to check on the decorations, and then I'll be out of your hair!" "Out of my hair? What about your hair?!" Rarity moves Twilight out of town hall. "Wait! Where are we going?! Help!" At the Carousel Boutique, Rarity lets Twilight try on some outfits after fixing her mane and tail. She looked at Starwalker and asked, "Where did you say she was from?" "She has been sent from Canterlot to help me with the--" Starwalker said before Rarity gasped. "Canterlot?! Oh, I am so envious! The glamour, the sophistication! I have always dreamed of living there! I can't wait to hear all about it! We are gonna be the best of friends, you and I." "Rarity?" "Yes?" "Do you think emerald goes well with that outfit?" "Emeralds?! What was I thinking? Let me get you some rubies!" Twilight decided to sneak out with Starwalker and Spike who was so stunned by Rarity's beauty. Their last stop was at a park in Ponyville. Spike was now on Twilight's back still remembering Rarity. "Wasn't she wonderful?" he asked. "Focus, Casanova," Twilight reassured. "What's next on the list?" Spike looked at the list. "Oh, uh, music! It's the last one!" A birdsong fanfare was then heard in the distance. The three looked to see a yellow pegasus tending to the birds who were practicing. "Oh my," the pegasus said. "Um, stop please, everyone, umm. Excuse me, sir? I mean no offense, but your rhythm is just a teeny-tiny bit off. Now, follow me, please. A-one, a-two, a-one two three-" "Hello!" Twilight greeted which made the pegasus yelp and scare off the birds. "Oh my, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to frighten your birds. I'm just here to check up on the music and it's sounding beautiful." There was a pause as the pegasus looked a little nervous. "I'm Twilight Sparkle. What's your name?" "Um...I'm Fluttershy." Fluttershy's voice was quiet as Twilight barely heard her answer. "I'm sorry, what was that?" "She said her name is Fluttershy," Starwalker reassured as he walked up to Fluttershy. "Don't be afraid, my friend." She quietly squeaked at the presence of the legendary Jedi of Equestria and blushed. "Well, um, it looks like your birds are back, so I guess everything's in order. Keep up the good work!" Fluttershy squeaked again quietly until she noticed Spike on Twilight's back and gasped. "A baby dragon!" She bumped past Twilight and got a closer look at Spike. "Oh, I've never seen a baby dragon before. He's so cute!" "Well, what do we have here?" Starwalker said. "An admirer perhaps?" "Well, well, well," Spike said. "Oh my, he talks. I didn't know dragons could talk. That's just so incredibly wonderful I, I just don't even know what to say!" Twilight used her magic to levitate Spike and put him on her back. "Well, in that case we'd better be going," Twilight said as she carried Spike to the library. Fluttershy followed. "Wait, wait! What's his name?" "I'm Spike," Spike said. "Hi Spike, I'm Fluttershy. Wow, a talking dragon! And what do dragons talk about?" "Well, what do you wanna know?" "Absolutely everything." Twilight quietly groaned as Spike talked about his life. Starwalker quietly laughed as he listened as well. > Chapter 3: Return of Nightmare Moon > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spike wrapped up his story about his life to Fluttershy while Twilight and Starwalker arrive at the Golden Oaks Library. "Do you wanna hear about today?" Spike asked. "Oh, yes, please!" Fluttershy said before Twilight quickly turned around to face Fluttershy. "I am so sorry, how did we get here so fast?" Twilight asked. Starwalker slowly shook his head feeling like something is in her mind right now. "This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville and my poor baby dragon needs his sleep." "No I don't--" Spike said before Twilight purposely knocked him off her back. "Aww, look at that, he's so sleepy he can't even keep his little balance!" "When will you understand?" Starwalker said to himself. Fluttershy swooped down to cradle Spike in her arms. "Poor thing, you simply must get into bed," Fluttershy said. "Yes, yes, we'll get right on that. Well, g'night! See you at the celebration, Starwalker!" Twilight closes the door on Fluttershy while Starwalker had a look of worry under his mask. He approached Fluttershy and placed a hoof on her shoulder. "I am sorry about Twilight," Starwalker reassured. "With the celebration being prepared, she just wanted to return home to Canterlot I fear." "Oh, it is quite alright," Fluttershy said. "Her baby dragon probably really needs a nap anyways." "Say, would you introduce me to some of your animals later?" "I would love to. Maybe after the celebration?" "Deal." Fluttershy then walked off as Starwalker waved a goodbye. He then decides to wait a little bit to sneak into the library. Later, Starwalker climbed up the tree and hid below the window to the bedroom where he heard Twilight's voice. "Here I thought I'd have time to learn about the Elements of Harmony but, silly me, all this ridiculous friend-making has kept me from it!" she said. She then looked up at the moon surrounded by stars. "Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about everlasting night." His eyes widened at the words said from Twilight and climbed into the window. "The thing I predicted when I returned to Equestria," Starwalker said which made Twilight yelp. She sighed in relief. "Oh, it's you." "Friend making is hard, is it?" Starwalker slowly approached Twilight. "To be honest, I didn't even want to come here to make friends." "It's your task given by the princess. No harm in that." "I just think that it is a waste of time." "Nothing is a waste in my book." Twilight groaned. "Why must you be so difficult? What made you predict that the Mare in the Moon would return?" "A vision told me a long time ago." Spike entered the room. "Oh, hey, Starwalker," Spike greeted. "Didn't know you were here. Anyways, it's time to watch the sunrise!" "Give us a moment, Spike," Twilight said. Spike left the room leaving Starwalker and her alone. "No matter what comes next, the princess knows that I am right." "I should hope so," Starwalker said as he walked past Twilight. She looked at the moon for a bit and then decided to follow Starwalker out of the library. A fanfare played in town hall as ponies gathered for the Summer Sun Celebration. Mayor Mare then takes the stage and announces, "Fillies and gentlecolts, as mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!" Ponies cheered as Starwalker leaned against a wall observing. "In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day of the year! And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land, the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day, the good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria..." Fluttershy readied her bird choir. "...Princess Celestia!" The curtain opened to reveal nobody standing there. Ponies in the building were chattering quietly and nervously as they wondered what happened to Princess Celestia. Starwalker looked at the moon to see the mare disappeared which can mean only one thing. He looked at the spot where Celestia should be to see Nightmare Moon herself appearing before everyone. “Oh no,” Twilight said quietly. “Nightmare Moon.” “Oh, my beloved subjects,” Nightmare Moon said. “It's been so long since I've seen your precious little sun-loving faces.” “What did you do with our princess?!” Rainbow demanded. She attempted to fly towards Nightmare Moon, but was being grabbed by the tail from Applejack’s teeth. Nightmare Moon then chuckled. “Why, am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?” “Ooh, ooh, more guessing games!” Pinkie said. “Um, Hokey Smokes! How about... Queen Meanie! No! Black Snooty, Black Snooty--” She stopped when Applejack shoves an apple in Pinkie’s mouth. “Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years? Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?” Twilight stepped forward. “I did,” Twilight said. “And I know who you are. You're the Mare in the Moon: Nightmare Moon!” Ponies in the room gasped. Starwalker started to walk through the crowd unnoticed. “Well well well, somepony who remembers me. Then you also know why I am here.” “You are here to--to--” Twilight gulped. “Remember this day, little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever!” Nightmare Moon laughs evilly as Starwalker stands in front of Twilight. She noticed him and chuckled. “Well if it isn’t this so-called ‘Jedi’ who defeated me along with the sun loving princess.” “And if it isn’t the obsessed princess of the night,” Starwalker taunted. “Watch your tongue, boy. It will get yourself killed. Since my banishment, I have learned new tricks since we last fought.” Nightmare Moon’s horn glowed as a shadow on the ground formed a figure of a pony. The pony then formed a weapon in its hoof as Starwalker had no choice, but to draw his lightsaber and fight. The pony then charged towards its opponent and began to attack. Starwalker blocked the strikes as Nightmare Moon observed. It delivered a heavy strike as Starwalker blocked it, holding his weapon tight. He then used the Force to push the pony back and then leapt in the air to chop off the head. The pony then vanished after its defeat. He then looked up to see that Nightmare Moon was gone. He looked around and saw that she fled through an open window. He then turned to see that Twilight left as well and headed to the Golden Oaks library. Starwalker arrived at the library to see Twilight and the others talking while she was going through some books. Rainbow zoomed towards her face and asked, “And just what are the Elements of Harmony? And how did you know about Nightmare Moon, huh? Are you a spy?” Starwalker used the Force to move her away from Twilight. “Simmer down, Sally,” Applejack reassured. “She ain’t no spy. But she sure knows what’s going on. Don’t you, Twilight?” “I read all about the prediction of Nightmare Moon,” Twilight explained. “Some mysterious objects called the Elements of Harmony are the only things that can stop her, but I don't know what they are, where to find them; I don't even know what they do!”  Starwalker was about to say something until Pinkie pulled a book off the shelf and said, “The Elements of Harmony: A Reference Guide.” “How did you find that?” Twilight used her magic to levitate the book. “It was under ‘E'.” “I know what they are and what they do,” Starwalker said as Twilight went through the book. “Then tell us,” Fluttershy said. “I mean, if you don’t mind that is.” “All I know is that there are six elements and five are known; loyalty, kindness, honesty, generosity, and laughter.” “You sound like you saw them in action, Starwalker,” Twilight said. “I did. I have a plan You find those Elements, fight if necessary Make a spark to make the sixth element So we can send her dark side packing Her plans ruined, the fate sealed No more endless night, hooray Goodbye, ex Nightmare Moon “A clever plan, but it says that it is in an ancient castle deep in the Everfree Forest,” Twilight said as she read the book. Everyone in the room except Twilight and Starwalker gasped.
