The labs sirens go off as people run around. "Experiment 52 is approaching hall 12! Intercept and eliminate!" Soldiers lined up in a firing line. A wolf at 6'3 came around the corner with its eyes closed and what seemed like black fire radiating off its body.
"Open fire!" Gun shots rang throughout the hall as they shot at it. Suddenly, soldiers began dropping like flies as the bullets seemed to be reflected at them. There was only one soldier left when the shooting stopped. The soldier reloaded his weapon, and the creature opened its eyes, revealing glowing midnight blue eyes with slits staring back at the soldier, its unusually long tail moving in the air.
"Experiment 52, you are to return to your designated lab or be terminated." Experiment 52 continued walking and the soldier opened fire. 52 began closing the distance while dodging bullets till it got close. The soldier flinched as it came right up to them. Its jaws splayed wide apart revealing a maw full of sharp teeth closing in quick. The soldier shuts their eyes waiting for their death. After some passing moments, they slowly open their eyes. They're all alone in the hall except for the bodies and their now destroyed rifle.
The scientists ran as they heard the gunshots echoing from behind. They got to the last door that led outside and sealed it shut. The scientists let out a sigh of relief. "That door is made of orichalcum. There's no way she's getting through that." As if they jinxed it, a black liquid began forming a circle on the door and the void wolf stepped through. They all cowered but the wolf only walked past them. They watched as it sat outside, basking in the sunlight. Only then, the scientists could see the shifting abyss in the wolfs fur. The orichalcum door lifted and soldiers poured through and opened fire. The bullets connected. The wolf looked back at them as their fur seemed to just absorb the bullets. ---
The entrance to the underground lab blew up and collapsed in on itself. I turned towards military helicopters that were hovering in place. Great. I thought to myself. I quickly built concentrated energy in my throat and fired a beam from my mouth at the helicopters, blasting them to pieces.
"Alpha warheads detonating in 5..."
What?
"4..." That's kind of excessive.
"3..." Can't do anything about it now.
"2..." I open a void portal and jump into it.
"1..." I close it behind me and float through the abyss to a new portal. A world devoid of humans. This took a tremendous amount of energy. I slink through the now created portal starving. Thankfully it's night and I'm near a village of sorts. Village means food. But a village could mean humans, but I doubt it. Must be another race. I stuck to the shadows; my fur allowed me to be basically invisible in low light conditions. The village seemed empty. I didn't bother with the houses because I'd rather not go through the trouble of meeting the locals. I went into the streets and heard growling. When I looked, a group of wooden wolves were approaching me snarling. I don't have time to deal with this. I charged the energy in my throat and fired at them, they disintegrated. I looked around before I saw a filly collapsed on the floor.
I feel bad but... A sharp hunger pain hit me hard and my stomach growled loudly. I don't have a choice. I went over to them. I used my teeth to get a grip on their head and sunk in a little, drawing blood. I injected a poison that would numb the pain in case it woke up. I let go and lunge my head forward to get more of its body in my maw. I suddenly heard clopping and when I look up a pony is charging me.
When they get close, I slide to the side and hit them with my paw, causing them to do a backflip before hitting the floor. ---
The pony wondered what had hit them so hard. Their eyes wandered back to the massive wolf holding the filly in its jaws. They watched helplessly as the filly's body began being crushed in its maw. They tried to move but their body, including their voice seemed to be paralyzed. Then the filly woke up. The first thing it saw was the world disappearing as it went further into its maw. The filly heard crunching and realized that it was being eaten and began thrashing around wildly. That's when the wolf sped up the process and began crushing its body fast.
"HELP!" The filly's cry seemed to stop the wolf right in its track. The filly fell out of the wolfs mouth and landed on the ground, bleeding a lot. It crouched and eyed the filly, examining them. After that, just stared it right in the eyes. "P-Please... Let me go..." the wolfs ears flattened and recoiled. It made a whine before a white light started building up near its throat, both the filly and the pony saw what this did to the timber wolves and are terrified. Just as the energy built up to its peak, the wolf opened its mouth. But instead of a beam, a white glowing mist came out and covered the filly. Their body began to heal. Eventually, every bone and cut were healed.
The wolf did the same thing to the pony. They both got up unsure what to do. The pony realized that it knew what sapient creatures were. They watched as it walked back into the shadows. "Wait" the pony called out to it, only for it to turn back, its glowing eyes slowly disappeared in the shadows. the pony chased after it only to find nothing. They had to tell twilight. --- This was a bust... I feel horrible now. They were so cute. My stomach growled again. I need to find food.
I Searched for food and found nothing. The most I got to eat was a mouthful of guilt. With a sigh, I melted into a shadow and waited for daybreak. When the sun rose, it kept going until it was in the middle of the sky and it went pretty fast too. With the sun like this, there are very little shadows that I can stay in. So instead, I use the shadows of either ponies passing by, or animals flying overhead. During this, I noticed that ponies seem to be the dominant and sapient species here. There also seem to be different types with different tattoos. Regular ponies, Pegasus, and Unicorns.
"Over here Twilight. This is where I saw them." When I looked, the pony from yesterday was leading a purple Unicorn to the spot I stayed in till the day. "I last saw them here."
Twilight went into the alley and used some kind of magic. "Well, nothing is here now. Thank you for letting me know. I'll tell the rest of my friends." They both trot off into the town somewhere. I thought about leaving until the scent of sweets caught my nose. It may not be the most nutritious food, but it should hold me until I can find something better. I use the same routine until I get closer to the scent's origin. It's a house made out of candies and gingerbread. I create a portal and go inside, then end up inside the candy house. It's rather dark. Well, that's better for me.
The scent led me to a rainbow cupcake on a table. Smells heavenly. I go for in for a bite.
"Hi!" I feel a touch accompanied by the greeting and yelp in surprise. I look down towards a pink pony. "Wow! Are you new in town? I've never seen you in town so you MUST be new! OOH! We should throw you a welcoming party! By the way, name is Pinkie Pie, and" This pink pony goes on a long ramble at an incredible pace about parties and the stuff they've done. It's overwhelming. My stomach growls which seems to interrupt her. I turn towards to cupcake and try to eat it only for the pink pony to take it away.
"You can't eat a cupcake like that silly. You're supposed to take off the wrapper first." She proceeds to remove a thin layer of some kind of material from the cupcake and then hands it out to me. I carefully take it out of her hoof and begin to chew. The flavors are indescribable. "Do you like it?" I nod as I take my time, savoring the cupcake. "Then you'll LOOVE your cake!" She says happily.
"Hey Pinkie Pie, my cupcake ready? Also, we have a problem." I lick my lips clean and look at the door. A Pegasus with a mane color that matched the cupcake flew in.
"Sorry Rainbow Dash, I gave it to wolfie."
"Who's that?" Rainbow Dash asks. A curtain suddenly appears, and pinkie pulls them back and introduces me like a stage producer introducing their actor. She's even dressed up as one. Rainbow Dash's eyes widen. Just then, Twilight walks in from behind her.
"Something wr-" She then sees me. "I thought she was exaggerating when she said it was taller than Princess Celestia." Her eyes are filled with caution but limitless curiosity.

The ponies looked up at the wolf like creature as it towered over them. Rainbow Dash and Twilight were ready for a fight but Pinkie was just having a great time, bouncing around giddy for the welcome party she planned. They watched as 52 backed into the shadows.
"Oh no you don't." Twilight says as she fires a magic bolt at them, only for it to hit the wall. "It got away."

So, I got outa there. I'm back at where I started yesterday. Outside the town. I sigh in defeat. The only thing I got to eat today was a cupcake. My stomach grumbles. I'm about to give up when I see a rabbit out the corner of my eye. Perfect. I once again stick to the shadows, as I get closer to the rabbit. Somethings off about it. Though I can't seem to pinpoint what it is. I pounce and toss the rabbit into the air. I jump to snatch it out of the air only for a yellow blur to whiz by, snatching the rabbit away. A yellow pony with a pink mane. She looks furious. I suddenly have a bad feeling.
She flies up to my level and begins to stare me down. "And what do you think you're doing trying to eat Angel? You don't eat other creatures here just because you feel like it!" Jesus Christ She's terrifying. With each word, she gets closer to my face, forcing me to back down until I'm completely crouched. I slowly move backwards.
"Oh, don't you even think about running away missy! Didn't your parents teach you any manners?! Now apologize to Angel right now." She says sternly. I turn towards the rabbit and bow as low as I possibly can.
I am so sorry Angel.
"There." She lands right next to me. My stomach growls loudly and I slightly wince at the stomach pain. "So you were that hungry? Just wait here." I do as she says and stay put. The rabbit follows her closely. She eventually comes out with a few plates of different food.

Fluttershy brings 52 a plate of carrots, peaches, and a watermelon. She watches as 52 sniffs the plates and gobbles up the food quickly. "Wow. You must've been really hungry."
"No Fish or anything huh? I still need more food..."
"I've got some fish. How many do you want?" 52 looks at Fluttershy surprised.
"You can understand me?"
"Yes. Why? What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Can you bring me five fish please? 52 asks politely.
"Sure thing." Fluttershy returns with the fish and wonders how to give it to 52. 52 sticks her tongue out. Fluttershy gets the idea and places the fish and watches as 52 chews on them.
"That wasn't enough to fill me but thank you very much. My name is Experiment 52. What's yours?
"I'm Fluttershy." 52 nods and continues chewing her food. Fluttershy watches as 52's ears constantly flick. She reaches to pet them and gets pushed backwards by 52. Fluttershy watches as a magic bolt then pierces through her head, creating a hole and splashing black liquid out the other side.
Twilight hid in some bushes nearby, watching the wolf and Flutteryshy interact. She wasn't completely sure of its intentions, so she began charging a magic stun bolt. She watched as Fluttershy interacted with it. Fluttershy reached to pet it and Twilight hyper focused to make sure she would react in time in case it went sideways.
"Whatcha doing?" Rainbowdash said as she prodded Twilights side with her hoof. This scared Twilight and she accidentally fired the bolt at Fluttershy.
"No!" She shouted as the bolt took off. Twilight could only watch as the bolt was already close to Fluttershy. She thought the most it would do was hurt a bit. She was horrified when the wolf pushed Fluttershy out the way and the bolt tore through its head. It fell to the ground with black matter splattered on the grass behind it. "Oh no no no no!" She watched Fluttershys expression go from pure terror to just shock. She teleported to Flutteryshy.
"Twilight?"
"I'm...so sorry...". That was the only thing Twilight could think of saying.
"She says shes fine..."
"What?" They watched in shock as the black matter on the grass and melded with the body and reformed the head back to its original shape.

I get up after my head returned to normal and shook my body as if I got wet. Black dust flew into the air and disappeared.
"But how?" she asked bewildered by the thought.
"I'm for the most part, immortal." Fluttershy translated for me.
"Thats impossible. I'm going to get my friends so we can talk. Don't go anywhere." and then she teleports away.
"Follow me 52, we're going inside my house." I follow her inside and flop onto the couch, almost crushing the bunny from earlier. It wriggles out from underneath me and angrily chitters at me before going elsewhere. While we wait, Rainbow dash challenges me to a speed contest but I decline.
"Why? Are you scared to lose?" She says tauntingly. Just then the other ponies arrive.
"Since Fluttershy can understand you, she will translate for you. So, what is your name?"
"Experiment 52." It was silent for a moment.
"Thats it?"
"Yes. The Scientists called me Experiment 52 and never referred to me as anything else"
"Name's Applejack. What were you being tested for exactly?"
"Existance. According to the scientists, I shouldn't be a real thing. So they kept me in a lab and tested various things."
"Wow, really?" Her eyes were sparkling.
"My names Rarity and I must say, your fur is marvelous. It almost looks like the color is moving. " She says as she peers deep into my fur, almost entranced by the ever shifting void.
"Gaze long into the void, and the void will gaze back through you." She peered back up at me and stepped back.
" What does that mean?"
"Something." Twilight is definitely unsatisfied with the answer.
"Well, I challenge you to a contest of speed and you will NOT be able to refuse." She says getting right into my face while flying.
"Better scramble like an egg before you get folded like an omlet." Fluttershy translates for me as I raise my paw threateningly.
"What?"
The others watched as I speedily bapped her on the head. Her body went limp, and she began snoring before she fell to the floor. "I win the speed contest."
"What did you do?"
"Magic touch. I call it, the folding.
"Could you teach me this magic?"
"No. Such magic should never fall into the wrong hands." Fluttershy added my dramatic tone which I thanked her for.
"Well I had mentioned you to the princess and she wants to meet you personally. So, we're all going right now."
It was a short an uneventful trip to the castle. Save for the gossip I heard from the passing ponies. Within minutes of stepping into Canterlot, the "Nobles" got on my nerves rather fast. Though I kept it to myself. Save for making some of them see their worst nightmare. Upon reaching the castle, the ponies I traveled with were immediately dismissed.
"You may go twilight. We have important matters to discuss with 52."
"Then I'll see you another time Princess." she said as she left.
Celestia's horn lit up and enveloped me in golden light. "I cast magic on you that would let you talk. I'd very much like to know your real name." Celestia said.
"Experiment 52."
"Is that really your name?" Luna asks.
"Yes." Luna looks at me with doubt. "It was what the scientists called me so it must be my name."
"You don't have any memory of a previous name?"
"No." Even though my eyes are closed I can see their expressions.
"Is it true you hurt a filly?" Celestia asked.
". . . Yes." Both the princess blinked at the same time.
"Then you must be destroyed." Luna said darkly
"Now surely there is another wa-" It went dark suddenly.
"______ wake up!" my eyes shoot wide open. It's bright and sunny.

Luna was surprised to see a lot of weird beings standing around and walking. There were some who wore white outfits and seemed like guards. She also saw wolf like creatures standing next to each guard. She saw that a majority of the wolves had orange eyes with few having blue. She watched as the wolves seem to converse in a language that everpony could understand since the two legs and wolves talked to each other. She saw a particular wolf wearing a moon crest necklace.
The wolves and two legs talked about various day to day things and the hardships of jobs. "So _____, why do you still wear that? They're gone aren't they?" For some reason Luna couldn't hear the names. They were always garbled.
"Because they were my partner and friend for a very long time. Whenever I wear it, it feels like they're here with me." The wolf said looking at the sky solemnly.
"You have to get over that. It was an accident. There was nothing you could have done. Besides, your next in line for evolving right? What do you have to be afraid of?"
"I'm scared of losing friends ____. I don't want that to ever happen again." The two wolves merged with another group.
Luna saw something coming over the horizon. A bunch of other wolves, They looked a lot like 52 did. She went closer to them and heard them plotting. They were going to destroy the town. She watched the events unfold. They charged up beams and the guards below started to move around. Though they obviously weren't sure what was happening.
"Something is wrong." A two leg says. "The readings are fluctuating!" Another says.
"So ___, do you think something is actually going to hap-" A sudden explosion occurs as a few two legs are sent flying. The ground violently shakes as more beams of light come down and cause explosions. Chaos erupts as guards, wolves, and regular two legs start dropping like flies. Luna couldn't believe what she was seeing. It was a war. It didn't take long for blood to start spilling.
Luna watched as the void wolves attacked. She was disgusted and outraged at their violent behaviors. The remaining guards and white wolves fought back. They fought back hard, and Luna watched as some of the black wolves fell, turning into black dust or goo. There was a particular white wolf doing a lot of damage. It was the one wearing the moon crest. They didn't stray far from her friend and two leg. Together they quickly thinned the wolves numbers.
Soon they were all gone. The three let out a sigh of release. "That was close. Right Au-" The wolf that was speaking got ran through with a white beam of light. The two leg turned only for the same to happen to it. The remaining wolf wearing the moon crest managed to dodge but still got hit by the beam. They bled and panted, they were already exhausted. More void wolves surrounded it.
Luna watched as it struggled for survival, tearing through the void wolves. Luna say another one approach its fallen friend which was wearing a golden earring. She watched as it seemed to take over the body. It then lunged at its former friend and pinned the white wolf to the floor. "___? W-what are you doing...?" The wolves voice was on the verge of breaking. She started to cry a little when her former friend started trying to kill her. With a sob the moon crest wolf bit into them, turning them to black dust. The wolf picked up their former friends earring and put it on.
Luna had enough of this and wanted to see who was 52. She looked towards a void wolf that had midnight blue eyes and made everything that wasn't 52 disappear. Except, that wolf also disappeared. Luna looked around confused and saw that only the white wolf remained. Its tearful eyes filled with determination. Luna couldn't believe this. Luna exited the dream.
"Sister. I... I don't know what to say. But I think we should give her another chance."
Celestia nodded. "So her background was good? Also was it necessary to say that before putting her into a dream sequence dear sister?"
"I'm not sure about her background. But she seemed like a good...wolf back then. As for the other question, I just wanted to tease them a bit." They both look back at 52 who is still out cold. She was sleeping peacefully.
