Chapter 1

It’s a nice day in the land of Equestria. Ponies were going about their day without any worries.

However, inside a single house in the chaos dimension, Discord, the Lord of Chaos, was suffering from sheer boredom.

“I’m sooooooo bored.” Discord groaned while lying on his couch. “There’s hardly any chaos in Equestria lately. Peace is overrated. What can I do to spice up the day?”

While thinking of ideas, Discord snapped his finger and materialized a TV monitor. With the TV, Discord saw what the ponies were up to. Twilight and Spike were babysitting Flurry Heart after Cadance and Shining Armor dropped her off at Twilight’s castle, Rainbow Dash was managing the weather, Fluttershy was caring for animals at her Animal Sanctuary, Pinkie Pie was baking sweets at Sugarcube Corner, Applejack was making apple treats at Sweet Apple Acres, Rarity was designing new dresses, Trixie was performing a magic act, Starlight was in her office at the School of Friendship counseling a student, and the CMCs were helping foals find their special talents.

Seeing nothing that interested him, he then decided to peek into the alternate world inhabited by the ponies’ human counterparts. He saw Sunset Shimmer and her six friends hanging out at the human Pinkie’s house and watching TV together. During a commercial break, a trailer for a video game was shown. In the trailer, a man was taking a casual jog while listening to music with his headphones. As he was jogging, he was completely oblivious to a group of goats causing all sorts of chaos and mayhem. After stepping on some poop, the jogger looked at his tainted shoe before turning around and seeing four goats staring at him. One of the goats charged at him and the trailer ended there.

After watching the trailer, Discord scratched his chin for a few seconds, and that’s when it hit him.

“I just got an idea. A very chaotic idea.” Discord chuckled while showing a devious grin.

He later appeared deep inside the Everfree Forest. He rubbed his hands for a short moment and snapped a finger, creating a giant puff of smoke in front of him. Once the smoke cleared, four goats came into view. The first has black fur, the second has white fur, the third has grey fur, and the fourth has brown fur.

“Alright then, my little friends. Go... Play... Have fun...” Discord said with a smile before vanishing.

The draconequus teleported back to his home in the chaos dimension. He sat on his couch and turned on his TV.

“Now... let’s see some chaos.” Discord watched with anticipation while materializing a bucket of popcorn in his hands.

Back in the Everfree Forest, the four goats were just staring off into space, apparently lost in deep contemplation. They were then snapped out of their trance when they heard growls coming from a pair of timberwolves.

The two wooden predators approached the goats slowly and menacingly, but the goats were not the least bit worried. One of the timberwolves lunged at the black goat, but the latter responded with a fast and powerful headbutt, sending the timberwolf flying into a tree. The force of the blow was enough to split the timberwolf into thousands of tiny pieces and knock down the tree. The second timberwolf then charged at the grey goat. The goat quickly turned around and kicked its attacker with both of its rear legs, launching the timberwolf high into the air and far into the distance.

The four goats proceeded with a stroll through the forest and the first thing they came across was a hut. The white goat headbutted the door, breaking it down.

Thirty minutes later...

The one who lives in the hut, a zebra named Zecora, had returned after collecting herbs. Upon her return, she noticed the broken door, causing her to be alarmed. After rushing into her home, her eyes widened and her jaw dropped when she saw the state of the interior. It was a complete and utter mess. The cauldron was knocked over and broken. All the bottles and jars were shattered, and the floor was completely covered in stains and shards. Zecora was so shocked that she could not bring herself to utter a single word.

The four goats continued with their stroll and eventually exited the forest. They soon arrived at the nearby town of Ponyville, and all the ponies living there had no idea how eventful their day was going to be. Once they entered the town, the four goats separated.

At the CMC’s Cutie Mark day camp, the blank flank foals were trying origami with Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo overseeing the activity. An earth pony filly just finished folding paper into the shape of a dragon.

“This one is good.” Sweetie Belle complimented.

“Thank you.” The filly replied with a happy smile.

A cutie mark than appeared on the filly’s flank. It resembles folding paper.

“Yes! I got my cutie mark!” The filly jumped up in joy.

“Congratulations! You’ve found your special talent!” Apple Bloom cheered.

“Baaaaaa...” The foals were suddenly interrupted by an unexpected visitor. It was the brown goat.

“Oh, hello there.” Scootaloo greeted the goat.

The goat then noticed the paper dragon.

“So... what are you doing here?” Scootaloo asked.

The goat quickly grabbed the paper dragon with its mouth and started chewing on it.

“Stop! That’s mine!” The filly began crying.

“Hey! That wasn’t nice!” Apple Bloom scolded the goat.

The brown goat dropped the paper art, but it was completely ruined.

“You’re disrupting our Cutie Mark day camp! Leave! Now!” Apple Bloom demanded.

The goat then snatched Apple Bloom’s bow by latching its tongue on it before running away at high speed.

“Hey! That’s my bow!” Apple Bloom shouted as she galloped after the goat.

Scootaloo’s scooter was unfortunately in the goat’s path. Thus, it broke when the goat trampled on it.

“Nooooooooooooooo...!!!! My scooter!!!!” Scootaloo cried out.

Elsewhere, Trixie was returning to her wagon. Just as she was about to enter, the brown goat ran straight through it with enough force to break the wagon in half.

Trixie’s eyes widened to the size of dinner plates and her mouth was left hanging open. Her cherished wagon was a wreck and all the props were scattered on the ground.

“Stop! Give me back my bow!” Apple Bloom was still chasing the goat.

“You’re going to pay for breaking my scooter!” Scootaloo was also after the goat.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!” Trixie dramatically shouted.

At Sweet Apple Acres, Applejack headed towards the apple orchard to buck apple trees. When she arrived, she found many of the trees knocked down.

“What in tarnation?!” Applejack exclaimed.

She subsequently heard the sound of another tree getting knocked down and she swiftly went to investigate. Upon arriving at the scene, her eyes widened in shock when she witnessed the grey goat kicking down another apple tree.

“Hey, you varmint!!!” Applejack shouted at the goat. “You are ruining my family’s apple orchard!!! I want you to leave right now!!!”

The goat ignored Applejack and continued kicking down the apple trees. Frustrated, Applejack then grabbed the goat by the neck with her lasso.

“That’s it!!! I’m dragging you out of here myself!!!”

She attempted to pull the goat out of orchard. However, the goat took off at breakneck speed and dragged Applejack with it instead. The apple farmer was taken by surprise. While holding tightly onto her lasso with her teeth, she wondered how this creature could be so strong. The goat took a sharp turn, causing Applejack to crash into one of the apple trees.

Applejack groaned in pain for a short time, but she recovered. She shook her head after getting back on her hooves. She looked around, but there was no sight of the grey goat.

“Now where did that varmint run off to?” Applejack uttered as she searched for the goat.

Speaking of the grey goat, it went inside the Apple Family’s house. In the kitchen, it was eating any food it could find while breaking all the cups, bowls, and dishes. Winona continuously barked at the goat, but the latter did not pay any attention to the dog. Meanwhile, Granny Smith was sleeping peacefully on her rocking chair outside, completely unaware of the intruder in the house. After the goat finished ransacking the kitchen, it left the house and went to the nearby barn. Moments later, the barn collapsed, causing Granny Smith to finally wake up. The elderly mare’s eyes widened upon seeing the state of the barn.

At Carousel Boutique, an ear-piercing scream could be heard. Inside, all the cloth and fabric were spread out across the floor. The mannequins were in pieces and all the dresses Rarity made were torn to shreds. Rarity was lying on her tattered fainting couch, sobbing with Opalescence by her side.

“Why meeeeeee…WHYYYY?! Why? Whyyy?! Of all the worst things that could happen, this is THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!!!”

At Sugarcube Corner, the white goat was chewing and tearing apart toys belonging to Pound and Pumpkin Cake. As the twins cried, Pinkie angrily assaulted the goat with cake. The goat did not seem to care as it continued chewing the toys for several more minutes. After it’s done, it licked up all the cake covering its fur.

Pinkie wasn’t finished as she then blasted the goat with her party cannon at point-blank range. The goat was launched through a wall and was sent rolling on the ground outside. However, it got back up like nothing happened.

Inside Twilight’s castle, Flurry Heart was splattering mashed peas all over the dining hall.

“Seriously, why provide her mashed peas if she’s just going to make a mess with them?” Spike deadpanned while pointing to all the mashed peas covering the walls and floor.

“Come on, Spike. It’s not so bad.” Twilight replied, treating Flurry’s antics lightly.

“It’s a waste of food and it’s a big chore to clean up all of this.” Spike groaned in annoyance.

“Baaaaaaa...”

Twilight and Spike turned their attention towards the source of the noise and they were taken aback by what they saw next. The black goat was licking up all the mashed peas that Flurry Heart wasted.

“W-wha... w-where did you come from?” Twilight stammered.

Flurry Heart then flew towards the goat to greet it. In turn, the goat began licking her, making her giggle.

“So, what’s a goat doing here?” Spike wondered.

“Maybe, it’s lost. I should inform Fluttershy.” Twilight replied.

The goat then spotted Flurry’s favorite stuffed snail toy, referred to as Whammy. At blinking speed, the goat grabbed the Whammy with its mouth and began chewing on it. This made the baby alicorn upset, and she began wailing.

“Hey! Let that go!” Twilight then tried using her magic to pull the Whammy out of the goat’s mouth.

Unfortunately, this resulted in the Whammy being ripped in half. As Twilight and Spike reeled in shock, Flurry cried even louder.

“Baaaaaaa.” The black goat said before fleeing the scene.

“Spike, wait here with Flurry Heart. I have an uninvited guest to deal with.” After regaining her composure, Twilight went searching for the goat.

Spike then tried his best to calm the crying baby. While looking for the black goat, Twilight’s eyes widened as a terrible thought crossed her mind. She then teleported to the library, and she gasped in horror as her worst fear was realized. All the books in her library were torn and ripped apart. Seeing her precious books ruined made the princess fumed with anger.

As she was contemplating on what to do with the black goat after catching it, Mayor Mare suddenly rushed in.

“Princess Twilight! We have a huge problem!” Mayor Mare exclaimed.

After evading Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, the brown goat ended up outside of a café and was chewing on Diamond Tiara’s tiara in addition to Apple Bloom’s bow.

“Waaaaaaaah! My tiara!” Diamond Tiara wailed.

Filthy Rich then confronted the goat.

“Excuse me! That’s my daughter’s favorite tiara! Drop it right now!” Filthy Rich demanded.

In response, the goat headbutted him, sending him flying into the café.

“Daddy!” Diamond Tiara cried out.

“I’m okay!” Filthy Rich said before groaning in pain.

The brown goat spit out the tiara and the bow, and then looked around. Several bystanders were shocked by what the goat just did to Filthy Rich.

“Baaaaaaaaa...” The goat proceeded to headbutt another nearby pony, sending that pony flying a great distance.

The other ponies screamed as they ran to escape becoming the goat’s next target. Moving too fast, the goat headbutted many more ponies, starting a widespread panic. Luckily, it did not target any foals.

As the chaos started, Maud Pie was taking a walk with her pet rock, Boulder. During her stroll, she was confused by the numerous screaming ponies that were running past her, though she maintained her blank neutral facial expression.

“Baaaaaaaaaaa...”

Soon enough, Maud came face-to-face with the brown goat. Maud and the goat then looked into each other’s eyes as if they were having a staring contest. After a few minutes, the goat noticed a small rock sitting on top of Maud’s head.

The goat swiftly grabbed Boulder with its tongue and as it chewed on the small rock, Maud’s eyes started twitching. The mare then slugged the goat in the face with her right front hoof. As it dropped Boulder, the goat was sent flying across town.

Somewhere else in Ponyville, the grey goat was causing mayhem at the town market. Various ponies galloped for their lives as the goat was firing laser beams from its eyes, demolishing stalls and blowing produce to bits.

“Why is that goat attacking?! And how is it firing laser beams?!” Lyra screamed as she ran alongside Bon Bon.

“I don’t know! But I’m more worried about not getting blasted right now!” Bon Bon responded.

To stop the goat, Rainbow Dash placed a storm cloud directly above the creature and bucked the cloud hard, sending down a bolt of lightning. It successfully struck the goat, but it did not cry out in pain. It simply fell over without making any sounds and lied motionless on the ground.

The pegasus then flew down to check on the goat. When she was about to poke the creature with her hoof, it got back on its feet in a blink of an eye, catching Rainbow Dash off guard. Faster than she could react, the goat gave her a strong headbutt, knocking the wind out of her and sending her tumbling across the ground.

While Rainbow Dash was seeing stars over her head, the grey goat went on firing laser beams in random directions.

At the same time, the white goat was going around shooting firework rockets at houses and other buildings with a firework launcher attached to its back. Where it got such a contraption was anypony’s guess.

As Derpy was flying overhead, the goat shot a rocket at her. The rocket hit its mark and Derpy was sent crashing through the roof of a house.

“I’m okay!” Derpy shouted out.

The white goat then turned around to see Fluttershy glaring right into its eyes.

“Listen here! You are terrorizing innocent ponies and causing serious property damage! So, I’ll kindly ask you to STOP THIS INSTANT!!!” Fluttershy roared in the goat’s face before using the Stare.

The goat wasn’t fazed by Fluttershy’s angry eyes. It simply licked her face before dashing off. Fluttershy was stunned that her stare had no effect.

After leaving the Castle of Friendship, Twilight saw many screaming ponies running around and smoke coming from several places. Perplexed and concerned, the alicorn flew up high into the air to get a bird’s-eye view on the situation. What caught her eye was town hall getting leveled by laser beams.

As the town hall completely collapsed, she quickly flew there and encountered the perpetrator, the grey goat.

“What in Equestria are you?! And how are you able to fire laser beams from your eyes?!” Twilight confronted the goat.

“Baaaaaaa...” The goat responded by firing a laser beam at the alicorn.

Twilight protected herself by generating a barrier that blocked the goat’s beam. Rather than trying to attack the princess again, the grey goat aimed its laser beams at other buildings.

“Oh no you don’t!” Twilight then struck the goat with a freeze spell and immobilized it. “No more destruction for you. I’m going to have you locked up until I figure out on what to do with you.”

However, Discord was watching from the chaos dimension. He snapped a finger and the grey goat broke free from Twilight’s spell.

“Whaaaaaaaat?!” Twilight was shocked.

Before the alicorn could cast another spell, the grey goat zoomed away and disappeared from sight within a second. Twilight’s mouth was hanging open as this left her even more baffled.

Discord cackled while watching all the chaos Ponyville was experiencing. He then gazed into the School of Friendship, where the black goat was running amok.

While its fur was enveloped in electric sparks, the black goat was just aimlessly charging through walls, leaving large holes on them. The students panicked and scurried around to avoid the rampaging goat.

In a hallway, Yona stood in the goat’s path.

“Yona doesn’t like strange goat scaring Yona’s friends! So stop, or Yona will stop strange goat!” Yona threatened.

The goat then headbutted Yona at lightning-fast speed, launching her through a wall.

“Yona!” Her five friends quickly rushed to her side.

“Yona is okay!” Yona groaned as her body was twitching.

“That’s it! I’m putting a stop to this!” Smolder then tried taking matters into her own hands.

She attempted to stop the goat herself, but it knocked her out as it charged past her.

Starlight frantically ran around the school in pursuit of the goat until she finally caught up to it at the school library. Her eyes widened in terror as the black goat headbutted or kicked the book shelves, tables, and chairs. Books and pieces of wood were being scattered all over the place.

“STOP!!! THAT’S ENOUGH!!!” Starlight shouted at the goat.

The goat kicked a table towards her, and she narrowly dodged it. Infuriated, the unicorn fired a magic beam at the goat. Once the beam hit, the goat disappeared in a flash of light.

“Uh, Counselor Starlight. Did you just vaporize that creature?” Sandbar questioned.

“No, I only banished it from school grounds.” Starlight answered before looking at all the damage. “Now what am I going to tell Twilight?”

In Discord’s house, the Lord of Chaos was laughing hysterically, having been greatly amused by the goats’ antics.

“This is splendid! Absolutely splendid!” Discord exclaimed in joy before emptying his bucket of popcorn. “This is just the entertainment I’ve been hoping for! I can’t wait to see what else they can do! The possibilities are endless!”

Speaking of the four goats, they left Ponyville and each went on in different directions. Ponyville was only the beginning. There is more chaos yet to come.

Twenty minutes after the chaos in Ponyville ended, a unicorn mare arrived at the town. She had a faded green-colored coat, long two-toned brown hair, green eyes, and a ladybug with some leaves as her cutie mark. However, she isn’t actually a pony. It was Chrysalis in disguise. When she was passing by, she noticed that the town was in disarray and went to investigate.

While walking through the town, she was astonished to see all the wrecked buildings. As she wondered what manner of creature could be responsible, her attention was caught by the wailing of three certain florists.

“All of our flowers are ruined!” Lily exclaimed dramatically.

“This is a disaster! A horrible, horrible disaster!” Daisy added.

“The horror, the horror!” Roseluck screeched.

“Um. Pardon me, fellow ponies. What exactly happened here?” Chrysalis inquired.

“It was goats!” Lily answered.

“They look like goats, but they’re actually monsters! Terrible, terrible monsters!” Daisy chimed in.

“I see. That’s... interesting.” Chrysalis was intrigued.

After gathering as much information as she could, the disguised changeling took her leave.

These creatures must be fierce to cause this much mayhem. I must seek them out. They might just be what I need to exact revenge on my enemies, especially Starlight Glimmer!” Chrysalis thought to herself as she left Ponyville.

Ponyville had one chaotic day. Without warning, four goats came out of the blue and instilled panic in the town. Fortunately, nopony was severely injured despite all the damages the goats caused.

While picking up Flurry Heart, Cadance and Shining Armor were surprised by what transpired, but they were glad that their daughter wasn’t hurt, physically speaking. The baby alicorn was still upset over what happened to her Whammy.

After Flurry Heart left Ponyville with her parents, Twilight and Starlight placed a barrier around the town to keep the goats out. The princess also sent a letter to Celestia, informing her of the chaotic creatures.

As repairs were being done, Twilight spent the rest of the day investigating. Unfortunately, she had no luck acquiring anything that could help her better understand these creatures. She swept the places that the goats set hoof in, including Zecora’s hut, but she was unable to find a single strand of their hair. She also examined every object that the goats put their mouths on, but there was no saliva on them. Needless to say, Twilight was left with more questions than answers. She had no idea where they came from or if they had any motives. Not knowing much made it difficult for her to go to bed after Luna raised the moon.

On the next morning at the Rock Farm, Limestone Pie prepared for a long day of work after having her breakfast. When checking on Holder’s Boulder before going to the rock fields, she was surprised to see the grey goat sitting on top of it.

The goat was peacefully staring at the sky, but Limestone did not take kindly to anycreature coming into contact with the boulder, much less sitting on it.

“Hey! Get down from there!” Limestone yelled at the goat.

The goat acted like it did not hear her and continued gazing at the sky.

“Can’t you hear me!? I said get down from there!” Limestone yelled again even louder.

The goat continued to ignore her. Limestone then threw a small pebble at the goat’s head to get its attention. The goat didn’t flinch, prompting the mare to throw more pebbles. No matter how many pebbles she threw, the goat did not pay Limestone any mind, making her more frustrated.

Losing patience, she picked up a much larger rock, but before she threw it, the goat jumped off Holder’s Boulder and landed in front of her. While looking into the goat’s eyes, Limestone gave a threatening glare.

“I don’t know where you come from, but listen carefully. I run this whole rock farm. Cross me and you’re going to regret it.” Limestone said in an unfriendly tone while poking the goat with her right front hoof.

While keeping its blank expression, the goat turned around and walked towards Holder’s Boulder.

“I’m warning you! Stay away from Holder’s Boulder!” Limestone growled.

The goat then latched its tongue on the boulder and hurled it to a faraway distance. Limestone let out a long gasp as her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. While she was still frozen with shock, the goat casually licked her face and walked away without a care in the world.

Near the town of Appleloosa, the buffalos were doing their traditional stampede. Their stampede was going smoothly as they ran on the open path through the apple orchard. But before they get past the orchard, Chief Thunderhooves noticed something up ahead.

There was a lone creature standing in the buffalos’ path. It was the brown goat and it was standing next to three cannons fully loaded with firework rockets, and they were all aimed at the incoming buffalos. In its mouth, the goat was carrying a match, which it used to light up the fuses.

The cannons fired and the buffalos were met with a barrage of fireworks. As the fireworks exploded around them, the buffalos stumbled and collided with each other. While watching from his home, Discord giggled as the buffalos piled on one another.

The citizens of Appleloosa were alarmed by the sound of fireworks. Braeburn was about to go investigate, but the goat bolted into the town on a skateboard with a rocket attached to it.

The goat zoomed around wildly, sending the ponies into a panic as they scattered. Anypony that was unable to dodge the goat was sent spiraling in the air.

A mare eventually threw an apple pie at the goat’s face, causing it to fall off its skateboard. The skateboard kept going until it crashed into the sheriff’s office. The rocket attached to the skateboard exploded, setting the station ablaze.

As the goat got back up and licked the pie off its face, Braeburn, Sheriff Silverstar, and several other Appleloosans surrounded the creature with the intention to capture it. The ponies rushed the goat, but the latter leaped over them and ran away at super-quick speed. The Appleloosans tried to pursue the goat, but it was too fast for them.

Right outside of the weather factory in Cloudsdale, three of the workers, Hoops, Dumb-Bell, and Score, were taking a break after hours of work. The three were drinking smoothies.

“This sure hits the spot.” Hoops said as he enjoyed his beverage.

Soon, they heard screams and saw a few pegasi flying frantically, like they were fleeing from something.

“What’s going on?” Dumb-Bell asked his friends.

The trio then saw the white goat heading in their direction. Moments later, it stopped and stood a few feet in front of them. It was carrying a megaphone on top of its head. The three pegasi were dumbfounded to see a goat roaming around alone on Cloudsdale.

“Wait a minute. How is this thing walking on clouds?” Score wondered.

“BAAAAAAAH!!!” With the megaphone, the goat released a powerful sound wave.

Hoops, Dumb-Bell, and Score screamed as they were blown away and launched out of Cloudsdale.

Afterwards, Spitfire, Soarin, and Thunderlane rushed to the scene.

“There it is!” Soarin spotted the goat.

“Don’t let it get inside the weather factory!” Spitfire bellowed.

The Wonderbolts swooped down on the goat at high speed, only to get blown away by the goat’s megaphone.

The goat then entered the weather factory and continued bringing disorder. All of the factory employees fled for their lives as the goat repeatedly fired sonic blasts. The worst-case scenario had arrived once the goat reached the laboratory where clouds and snow are manufactured. The goat damaged the machines, causing them to go haywire.

With chaotic weather forming over Cloudsdale, the goat discarded its megaphone device and left the cloud city on a paraglider.

In Canterlot, Prince Blueblood was dining at a luxurious restaurant. After finishing the main course of his meal, he waited for the dessert. A waitress arrived and placed a small plate of fancy-looking vanilla cake on the table.

Eager to start eating his dessert, Blueblood used his magic to lift a fork and prepared to cut off a piece of the cake.

“Baaaaaaaaaaah...”

“Huh?!” Blueblood yelped upon seeing some unexpected company. Standing near him was the black goat and it appeared to be wearing a huge jet pack.

The goat blankly stared at Blueblood, who stared back with a perplexed expression.

“W-where did you come from?” Blueblood stuttered.

“Baaaaaaah...” The goat simply replied.

“Well, I don’t appreciate being disturbed by a lowly creature such as yourself! Now shoo! Leave at once so I can enjoy my delicious dessert!” Blueblood said irritably.

Using its tongue, the goat swiped the cake and devoured the whole thing in one bite.

“Aaah! You filthy scoundrel!” Blueblood snapped.

The goat then seized him with its tongue, which took the prince by surprise. As he wondered how the goat’s tongue was able to stick to him like glue, the jet pack activated and the goat took flight and dragged Blueblood along for the ride. They flew out of the restaurant by breaking through a glass window and they soared high into the air over the streets of Canterlot.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!! PUT ME DOOOOOOOOOWN!!!” Blueblood screamed in terror while flailing his hooves.

After they zigzagged in the air for a few minutes, the unicorn was released from the goat’s grip. Blueblood cried out as he plummeted towards the ground, until he fell into a dumpster. As he climbed out of the dumpster, Blueblood whimpered as he was completely covered in trash. Meanwhile, the goat then flew towards Canterlot library.

In the library, Moon Dancer was reading a book as usual. When she turned to the next page, the goat suddenly busted through the roof, surprising Moon Dancer and everypony inside. With the jet pack still active, the goat erratically flew around inside the library. The ponies had to either move to the side or duck to avoid getting hit. While flying, the goat bumped into the book shelves again and again. Because of the jet pack’s rocket thrusters, some of the books caught fire and the flames quickly spread. All the ponies evacuated in a hurry and the goat managed to fly out through the hole on the roof as the library went up in smoke.

While watching the goat’s movements, Discord snapped his finger and teleported the goat close to the royal castle. The goat soon flew through a stained-glass window, alerting the guards.

The goat flew around in random directions and bounced off the walls multiple times. The guards were at a loss of what to do since a goat flying into the palace with a jet pack was the last thing any of them expected. Eventually, the jet pack got loose, and the goat dropped down and tumbled on the floor. The jet pack crashed into a wall, resulting in a huge explosion.

The goat swiftly rose back to its hooves nonchalantly, but found itself surrounded by the guards, all pointing their spears at the goat.

“Halt, intruder!” One of the guards commanded.

A circular metal shield suddenly materialized on the goat’s back. The creature then used its tongue to hurl the shield. It hit one guard and ricocheted to another guard. The shield bounced around like a pinball, striking many more guards. Discord snickered as the guards were getting knocked out, one after another.

“ENOUGH!!!” A certain alicorn shouted in her royal Canterlot voice.

Appearing before the goat is the ruler of Equestria herself, Princess Celestia.

“Stand down, creature!” Celestia demanded.

The goat responded by throwing its shield at Celestia, who put up a magical barrier and deflected the shield back at the goat, knocking it down. The sun alicorn then used her magic to pin the goat to the floor.

“It’s time we find out what you are.” Celestia declared.

Discord secretly intervened by conjuring a swirling vortex beneath the goat. The creature then vanished from the palace, leaving Celestia baffled.

The goat reappeared in front of Canterlot Carousel. It gazed at the boutique briefly before walking in through the front door. After hearing the door opened, the boutique’s manager, Sassy Saddles, went to greet the new arrival.

“Hello, welcome to...” The unicorn was bewildered to see that the visitor wasn’t a pony.

Forty minutes later...

A group of guards arrived at Canterlot Carousel after receiving word of a public disturbance occurring there. They found Sassy Saddles in great distress but she was unharmed. However, everything in the boutique was in tatters, as if a storm went by. As for the perpetrator, it was long gone.

Later that day, the Mane Six and Spike gathered in the Castle of Friendship for an important meeting.

“Girls, I have important news that I need to relay to you.” Twilight said.

“What is it, Twilight?” Fluttershy asked.

“The goats have struck again.” Twilight answered with a serious tone.

Naturally, the rest of the Mane Six were concerned.

“What did those ruffians do this time?” Rarity inquired.

“At Appleloosa, the brown goat disrupted the buffalos’ stampede and destroyed the sheriff’s station. The white one attacked the weather factory at Cloudsdale. And the black one stirred up trouble at Canterlot.” Spike explained.

“Nopony was seriously hurt, thankfully.” Twilight added.

“We need to stop them before they could do something worse!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

“What about the fourth goat?” Pinkie chimed in.

“No major incidents concerning the grey goat reported so far.” Twilight stated.

Spike belched up a burst of green fire that formed into a scroll, which the dragon then caught in his hand. He then handed it to Twilight.

The alicorn then unfolded the scroll and began reading it. “It’s a detailed report of all the damages the black goat did at Canterlot.”

As she read through the scroll, she discovered what happened to the Canterlot library.

“Seriously! What does the black goat have against libraries?!” Twilight thought out loud in shock.

“So, is there a plan to catch these varmints?” Applejack questioned.

“Princess Celestia has posted guards at every town and city in Equestria. We’ll be notified right away the next time the goats show themselves. When they do, we’ll be there to stop them in any way we can.” Twilight replied before turning her head to Spike.

“And Spike, if we see the black goat again and if capture proves to be too difficult, you may eliminate it with fire.” Twilight said sternly.

“Uh, isn’t that a bit excessive?” Spike asked.

“That creature has committed the gravest of sins! Not once, not twice, but thrice! I swear, it must be punished for all the innocent books it harmed!” Twilight bellowed.

“Twilight, darling, aren’t you getting a bit too melodramatic?” Rarity interjected.

“There’s something you need to know.” Twilight then showed Rarity the part of the report revealing that Canterlot Carousel was vandalized.

“THAT GOAT MUST BE DESTROYED!!!!” Rarity screeched.

“TWILIGHT!!!” Trixie rushed into the castle.

“Trixie?” Twilight was taken aback.

“When you go searching for those dastardly goats, please let me join you. I have a score to settle with one of them! The brown goat ruined my precious wagon! THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE NEEDS JUSTICE!!!!” Trixie bellowed dramatically.

“O-okay, you may assist us when the goats appear again.” Understanding where Trixie was coming from, Twilight accepted her request.

Unbeknownst to the ponies and dragon, Discord was spying on them.

“Good luck, my little ponies. You’re going to need it.” The Lord of Chaos said with a grin.

On the second day after they first appeared, the goats created more pandemonium in Appleloosa, Cloudsdale, and Canterlot, and created a huge inconvenience for the Pie Family at the Rock Farm. The buffalos were outraged after their stampede was disrupted and the sheriff station in Appleloosa needed to be rebuilt. The pegasi in Cloudsdale worked tirelessly to repair the weather factory. The library in Canterlot also needed to be rebuilt, and Rarity was dismayed that another one of her boutiques was desecrated. Blueblood and Sassy Saddles needed time to recover from their emotional distress. The Pie Family had to go through a lot of hassle to retrieve Holder’s Boulder and return it to its proper place. Twilight went to Appleloosa, Cloudsdale, and Canterlot while remaining unaware of what transpired at the Rock Farm. She hoped to find anything the goats might have left behind but once again came up with nothing, much to her growing frustration. Due to recent events, Celestia decreed that royal guards patrol every town and city in Equestria and report to her and Twilight if they encounter the goats.

Somewhere in Equestria, Chrysalis incessantly searched for the four rumbunctious goats ever since she first heard about them. However, she had no luck tracking them down and the day was nearly coming to an end. Just as she was getting aggravated by the lack of success, she came across a herd of goats at an open field. Hoping that her luck was turning around, Chrysalis approached them in her unicorn disguise.

“Hey there.” Chrysalis began speaking to the goats, and they turned their heads toward her. “Tell me, which of you have been bringing turmoil to the ponies?”

All of the goats just stared at her for a while and then turned their attention away from her. Chrysalis transformed back to her true form and fired a beam of magic to see how they would react. The goats fled in terror, much to her disappointment. None of them were the creatures she was looking for. With nothing going her way, she screamed at the sky in rage.

The next day arrived and in the chaos dimension, Discord was looking forward to another day of chaos. Though he enjoyed watching all the chaos his goats created, the draconequus also made absolutely sure that no living being, aside from timberwolves, would receive injuries that are extremely painful or life-threatening. He also made sure that no traces of the goats were left behind so nopony, especially Twilight, would get a clue on their origins. He wouldn’t want anypony to suspect him. He turned on his TV to see how the ponies were doing, and he saw royal guards vigilantly keeping their eyes out for the troublemaking goats. He gazed inside the Castle of Friendship, where Twilight and Spike were having a conversation.

“Any word on the goats? Are they causing trouble again?” Spike asked.

“Net yet, Spike.” Twilight answered. “But once the royal guards see them, we will know about it.”

Discord then took some time to ponder.

“What to do? What to do?” The Lord of Chaos wondered while rubbing his chin. “I feel like it’s not time for another confrontation between the goats and the friendship ponies.”

The TV responded by showing the other kingdoms, revealing that none of Celestia’s royal guards patrol there.

“Now that I think about it, I already annoyed ponies plenty of times before. Maybe... I should focus on harassing the other creatures for today.” Discord uttered while tapping his fingers together.

At Griffonstone, a certain griffon named Gilda was running a stall and selling scones to griffons who were eager to taste them. Ever since Rainbow Dash and Pinkie’s friendship mission in Griffonstone, life has been great for her. Seeing other griffons enjoy her scones made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

When there were no more customers in line, Gilda started counting her Bits.

“I should visit Dash again someday.” Gilda thought to herself.

“Baaaaaaaaaaah...”

“Huh?” A lone creature caught her attention. Standing before her was the brown goat, and it was wearing some kind of strange metal helmet.

Gilda and the goat then stared at each other.

“So... what do you want?” Gilda asked after a few minutes.

The goat did not answer and continued staring at her.

“Uh, if you want a scone, you’ll have to pay for it. I’m not giving these away for free.” Gilda said.

The goat then snatched a scone with its tongue and devoured it.

“Hey! Do you have any Bits for that!?” Gilda shouted.

Afterwards, the goat wrecked Gilda’s stall with a headbutt. At that moment, the griffon began feeling what she hasn’t felt in a long time: anger.

As the goat ate the scones lying on the ground, Gilda roared with fury. However, before the griffon could lash out at the goat, the latter's helmet released an energy beam. Gilda was taken by surprise when the beam connected to her head.

“W-wha... what are you doing?!” Gilda cried out. To her shock, the beam was enlarging her head.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! MY HEAD!!!! WHAT’S HAPPENING TO MY HEAD?!!!!” She shrieked in terror.

Once the beam stopped, Gilda’s head was five times larger than the rest of her body. Her head felt so heavy that she couldn’t lift herself.

“What’s going on?” Another griffon, Greta, arrived at the scene after hearing a commotion.

Once she noticed Gilda’s huge head, the goat struck her with the same strange beam, enlarging her head as well and making her cry out in horror.

Later in Grampa Gruff’s house, the elderly griffon heard several screams coming from outside.

“What’s that racket?” He said irritably.

Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door.

“What do you want!?” Grampa Gruff said rudely as he opened the door and ended up meeting the goat face to face.

The next thing the elderly griffon saw was the goat unleashing its head-enlarging beam on him.

Inside a hut at Yakyakistan, a yak played a yovidaphone while the audience blissfully listened to the music. The grey goat entered the hut just when the music finished. It approached the stage while the audience applauded the performance.

The yak that just played the yovidaphone quickly took notice of the goat.

“Yak never seen strange creature before. Has strange creature come to listen to yovidaphone?”

The goat used its tongue to swipe the yovidaphone and slammed it against the floor, breaking the instrument and making all the yaks in the hut gasp in shock.

“Strange creature dares break yak’s favorite yovidaphone?! Yak is mad!!!” The yovidaphone owner snapped.

The goat latched its tongue on the yak and swung him around like a wrecking ball. Chaos ensued as the goat ran around using its captive to demolish one hut after another. The yak was eventually tossed aside after nearly half of Yakyakistan lied in ruins.

The goat was soon confronted by a group of enraged yaks led by Prince Rutherford.

“PUNY CREATURE HAS MADE YAKS ANGRY!!!! YAKS WANT TO SMASH PUNY CREATURE!!!!” Rutherford bellowed.

The goat then underwent a strange transformation. Its body became muscular with some patches of fur now missing.

“Puny creature wishes to challenge yaks!? YAKS WILL CRUSH PUNY CREATURE!!!!”

The goat and Rutherford charged at each other and butted heads. After a short struggle, Rutherford was overpowered and sent flying across the village, much to the other yaks’ surprise.

While they were still trying to process this unexpected development, the goat proceeded to charge at them next. A short time later, numerous yaks were piled up in the snow right outside Yakyakistan.

Elsewhere, the black goat was taking a leisurely stroll in the Dragon Lands. It came across Garble and several other teenage dragons having a belching contest. The goat walked towards them while they took turns showing off their fire breath.

“Hey, look.” Charcoal pointed a finger at the creature.

The other dragons then noticed the goat, and it was just staring at them.

“Well, what do we have here?” Garble said after seeing an unexpected guest.

“That is one strange creature.” Billy said.

“It looks ridiculous if you ask me.” Backdraft added.

“I say we just found something new to play with.” Garble commented.

“But why is this thing here in the first place?” Fume asked.

“Does it matter? Since it’s not a pony, I guess Dragon Lord Ember won’t mind what we do with it.” Garble remarked. “Here’s a thought. Let’s use if for target practice.”

“Good idea. But first, make it run.” Clump suggested. “It’ll be fun to chase it.”

“I like the way you think.” Garble grinned as he walked up to the goat.

“Go on! RUN!!!” Garble roared in the goat’s face in an attempt to frighten it.

The goat did not flinch. It just gazed at Garble with a blank expression.

“Hey! Are you deaf?! I said get running!!!” Garble yelled again.

The goat then let out a powerful roar. Garble and his fellow dragons were blown away by the goat’s voice and they fell into a pool of lava.

Throughout the Dragon Lands, a strange roar could be heard over and over again and what followed after each roar was dragons being catapulted into the air.

At the Changeling Kingdom, the changelings were spending their time doing activities they enjoyed, such as theater, dancing, and arts and crafts. Life in the hive has been even better after Pharynx came around. They were blissfully going about their day, completely unaware that their peaceful day was about to be turned upside down.

During craft time, a group of changelings were making cups, bowls, and pots. Once they were finished, they took a moment to admire their creations.

Suddenly, one of the changelings was hit in the head by a round object.

“Ow! What was that?!”

The changelings then saw that it was a baseball.

“Where did this come from?” The changeling wondered as he picked up the baseball.

“Baaaaaaaaah...”

What then caught their attention was the white goat, and it was carrying a baseball pitching machine on its back. The goat wasted no time firing a baseball barrage. The changelings cried out in pain as they were repeatedly hit by baseballs, and they quickly fled.

The goat casually strolled around the hive and instilled panic by shooting baseballs at any changeling in sight. Pharynx stepped in and transformed into his flying spider-like monster form. The goat fired baseballs at him, which only annoyed him. Pharynx swatted the creature, launching it towards a wall and breaking the pitching machine on its back.

Pharynx narrowed his eyes at the goat as the latter got back on its hooves without showing any pain.

“If you don’t want any trouble, leave while I’m asking nicely.” Pharynx growled.

The goat’s eyes then glowed bright white. From its mouth, the goat shot out a blue spark at the changeling. Once it struck Pharynx, he began flailing uncontrollably as his body was surrounded by blue sparks.

The goat later went to the throne room, where Thorax and many changelings prepared to take a stand.

“Baaaaaaah...” The goat launched a blue spark at them too.

Inside the chaos dimension, Discord was once again entertained from watching his goats’ handiwork. However, the day was still young and the Lord of Chaos wanted more. He teleported the brown goat to the Kirin village. Once it appeared in the village, the goat was now dressed like a stage magician.

The surrounding kirins immediately became curious about their visitor. The goat stood on its hind legs and used its front hooves to throw out a flurry of playing cards.

Thinking that the goat was putting on a performance, the kirins gathered around it. When it was back to standing on four legs again, the goat spit out a ball of fire at a nearby house, blowing it up. The kirins gasped and then flew into a panic as the goat aimlessly launched more fire balls, blowing up more houses, some fruit stalls, and a garden.

Some kirins transformed into niriks and attacked the goat with fiery blasts. The goat dodged their attacks and continued bringing destruction to the village.

Finally, Rain Shine immobilized the goat with telekinesis, and the niriks sent it flying out of the village with explosive blasts.

Discord then came up with another idea. For the day’s grand finale, he transported all four goats to Mount Aris.

The brown goat and white goat were sent to the beach. The brown goat had a jet pack strapped to its back and a megaphone placed on top of its head. The white goat was equipped with a firework launcher. To start off, the brown goat approached a group of pony tourists who were taking a stroll on the beach. It headbutted some of them and then latched its tongue on one pony. Activating its jet pack, the goat took flight and dragged the pony with it. The white goat launched firework rockets at tourists, hippogriffs, and seaponies that were swimming close to the beach. After landing, the brown goat used its megaphone to blow away anything that was unfortunate enough to be in front of the creature. Meanwhile, the other two goats were wreaking havoc in the hippogriff village. The grey goat used eye lasers to tear down homes while the black goat let out powerful roars to blast away anything in its path. It did not take long for Mount Aris to be filled with screams.

Discord had a wide grin on his face as he watched hippogriffs, seaponies, and tourists scampered around frantically.

Back at Ponyville, Twilight had just finished with teaching the day’s classes in the School of Friendship. She went to her office to grade papers. Having not heard anything about the goats all day, she wondered what they were up to. Spike then came into the office with an urgent message from Princess Celestia, who wanted Twilight to come to Canterlot right away.

Following Celestia’s request, Twilight later arrived at the Canterlot royal castle. She was surprised to see Ember, Thorax, Grampa Gruff (whose head has gone back to normal), Rutherford, Seaspray, and Rain Shine there. They explained about their ordeals and they were all utterly furious at the goats’ actions. Twilight and Celestia were surprised to hear that the goats targeted the other kingdoms.

Hearth's Warming Chapter

View Online

It is Hearth’s Warming Eve in the town of Ponyville. Everypony had decorated their homes and bought presents for each other. The Pie Family and Grand Pear joined the Apple Family at Sweet Apple Acres, and the Sparkle Family joined Twilight and Spike at the Castle of Friendship. Family and friends got together to have a joyful time.

However, what the ponies didn’t know was that Discord had an idea to spice up the holidays. In the outskirts of Ponyville, the draconequus popped out of thin air. He snapped a finger and summoned four certain creatures.

“Go forth, my chaotic friends! Give them a Hearth’s Warming experience they’ll never forget!” Discord commanded with great enthusiasm.

The Lord of Chaos teleported back to his home, and the four creatures marched onward into the town.

Near the Cutie Mark Crusaders’ clubhouse, the CMCs and several other foals, including Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Rumble, Pipsqueak, and Featherweight, were building snowponies.

Suddenly, Silver Spoon spotted something of interest.

“Um, everypony. There’s something you have to see.” Silver Spoon said as she pointed her hoof to what she was seeing.

The other foals turned their heads to where Silver Spoon was pointing at and their eyes widened. They saw a towering snowpony standing in the middle of town. Besides the huge size, another odd thing was that the snowpony continued increasing in size.

“Is it me, or is that snowpony keeps getting bigger?” Diamond Tiara asked.

“Come on! Let’s get a closer look!” Apple Bloom urged.

The foals wasted no time galloping towards the snowpony. It attracted the attention of many other ponies as there was a huge crowd gathered around it. The rest of the Apple Family, the whole Pie Family, Grand Pear, Sugar Belle, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash were there among the crowd. After going through the crowd, the foals were surprised by what they saw next.

They saw two goats continuously spitting out snowballs at the snowpony. One has grey fur, the other has white fur, and they both wear Hearth’s Warming hats. Each time the goats launched a snowball, the snowpony grew.

“What’s going on here?” Apple Bloom asked.

“Beats me. These fellas just came out of nowhere and made this giant snowpony.” Applejack answered.

The perplexed ponies just stood by and watch as the two goats made the snowpony larger and larger. Featherweight took some pictures with his camera. The goats stopped once the snowpony was nearly two hundred feet tall.

“For a moment, I thought they were going to make it as big as Twilight’s castle.” Rainbow commented.

Both goats then turned their attention towards the crowd of ponies as they marveled at the gigantic snowpony. Without warning, the white goat shot a snowball at Diamond Tiara. Once it hit its target, the filly’s head was covered in a spherical mass of snow, prompting her to let out a muffled scream.

The goats proceeded with a snowball barrage, striking more ponies in the crowd, including Sweetie Belle, Pipsqueak, Igneous Rock Pie, Marble, Maud, Big Mac, Fluttershy, and Grand Pear. One of the snowballs went for Granny Smith, but Applejack took the hit.

“SNOWBALL FIGHT!!!!” Scootaloo bellowed right before she was struck by one of the goats’ snowballs.

Snowballs were then thrown all around. The goats were not affected by snowballs thrown by ponies, but those that were hit by the goat’s snowballs found themselves with their heads engulfed in snow. Pinkie unleashed a fierce storm of snowballs in all directions, and the two goats slipped away in the confusion.

Meanwhile, the black goat was up to its own mischief. On its back, it was equipped with some kind of contraption shaped like a cannon. Wherever it went, the goat used its device to attach wires of festive lights on just about anything.

At Cranky Doodle Donkey’s house, the goat knocked on the front door.

“Coming!” Cranky shouted as he headed for the door.

When he opened the door and looked outside, he saw that his house was completely surrounded by multitudes of Hearth’s Warming lights.

“Hey, those lights are not supposed to be there!”

He approached the lights with the intention to remove them, but once he touched one of the wires, he was stunned by an electric shock.

Throughout Ponyville, ponies that stumbled upon these wires of festive lights had the unpleasant experience of an electric jolt. When Derpy returned to her house after running some errands, she discovered wires of Hearth’s Warming lights covering the front door. Confused, she touched the wires and received an electric shock as well.

Inside Trixie’s wagon, Trixie and Starlight were enjoying a cup of hot cocoa.

“Hot chocolate is so delicious when you’re having it with a friend.” Trixie said.

“I couldn’t agree more.” Starlight replied. “Oh, I almost forgot! I got Hearth’s Warming cookies in my office! Be right back!”

Starlight then teleported to her office. When she arrived, she discovered wires of festive lights all around in her office.

“What?! Who put all these lights in my office?!”

“Baaaaaaaaaah!” The black goat took her by surprise.

Startled, Starlight accidentally stepped on one of the wires. She received an electric shock and was rendered unconscious.

Back at the wagon, Trixie was waiting patiently for her friend.

“She sure is taking her sweet time.”

There was then a knock on the door.

“Starlight?”

Trixie opened the door and once she looked outside, she discovered her wagon surrounded by snowponies, each bigger than the wagon itself.

“Uh Starlight, did you make all of this?”

The grey goat ambushed her with a snowball attack. Trixie fell victim to the sneak attack and her head was covered in a mass of snow. She flew into a panic and while she was galloping around frantically, the goat went on to fill up her wagon with snow.

The white goat casually strolled around Ponyville and repeatedly spit snowballs in random directions, either creating snowponies or covering ponies’ heads in snow. It later arrived at Town Hall, where Mayor Mare was hosting a holiday party. A group of musicians, including Octavia, were playing Hearth’s Warming music. To liven up the party, the goat assailed every pony in Town Hall with a flurry of snowballs.

Inside the Castle of Friendship, Twilight and her family were enjoying some delicious pudding. Twilight was also showering her niece with affection.

“Twilight!” Spike called out excitedly.

“What is it, Spike?” Twilight asked.

“You have to come outside! There’s a humongous snowpony! You’re not going to believe how big it is!”

Intrigued, Twilight and her family decided to check it out. After stepping outside the castle, they saw the forementioned snowpony. The Sparkle Family were amazed that it was big enough to be seen from the castle.

“I didn’t think a snowpony could get this big!” Twilight was astounded.

“Baaaaaaaaah!”

The Sparkle Family were then greeted by the brown goat. On its back, it was carrying a sleigh (which is small enough to fit) with sacks. The family immediately became curious about this unusual visitor.

“So, is it here to deliver presents?” Spike wondered.

Unexpectedly, a piece of festive wrapping paper flew out of the sleigh and towards Flurry Heart. In the next moment, the paper wrapped around the baby alicorn and turned her into a Hearth’s Warming present. This made the family totally flabbergasted. While they were still frozen in shock, the goat launched magical wrapping paper at Twilight, her parents, Cadance, and Shining Armor. Spike tried to fly away, but he was also caught. With the entire Sparkle Family nicely wrapped into presents, the goat went on its merry way.

Without a specific destination in mind, the brown goat went around aimlessly. Any ponies that crossed its path were wrapped into presents, including the Cake Family, Mudbriar (who was on his way to see Maud) and Vinyl Scratch (who was preoccupied listening to music from her headphones).

The goat stopped by at Sandbar’s house and knocked on the front door. Sandbar’s father answered and as soon as he laid eyes on the goat, he was turned into a present. The goat entered the house and proceeded to turn Sandbar, his mother, and his little sister into presents as well.

The goat went to another random house and repeated the same process. It knocked on the door and when somepony answered, the goat turned everypony in the house into presents.

Eventually, it came across Carousel Boutique. This time, the goat just walked in through the entrance.

“Is that you, Sweetie Belle?” Rarity went down the stairs only to be met by wrapping paper.

Rarity yelped as she was turned into a present. The goat also noticed Opalescence and launched wrapping paper at her too. The cat screamed as she was wrapped into a present.

“Rarity, I’m back!” Sweetie Belle returned to the boutique.

Subsequently, the filly became another victim of the goat’s shenanigans.

After the encounter with the white goat and grey goat, the Apple and Pie families, as well as Grand Pear, were heading back to Sweet Apple Acres.

“Those goats sure were something.” Applejack remarked.

“I know! I never had a snowball fight so exhilarating!” Pinkie bounced up and down.

They reached their destination, but they discovered that the apple orchard was filled with out-of-place Hearth’s Warming lights and most of the trees were wrapped into presents.

“WHAT IN TARNATION HAPPENED TO THE ORCHARD?!!!” Applejack exclaimed.

While sitting nice and cozy in his home, Discord watched every little thing the goats did while feasting on cookies with a glass of milk. After a few hours, all those turned into presents changed back to normal and all the lights placed by the black goat mysteriously vanished. The ponies were confused at first but they soon returned to enjoying the holidays.

“Hold on! Hold on!” Discord interrupted. “There’s one more thing I need to see!”

Later in the evening at Canterlot palace, Celestia and Luna gazed at the starry night sky together.

“Baaaaaaaah...!”

The sisters turned their heads around and saw all four goats standing behind them. The two alicorns were then taken by surprise as the white goat and grey goat spit snowballs at them. The brown goat swiftly followed up by wrapping the sisters into presents. For the finishing touch, the black goat placed Hearth’s Warming lights around them.

“Happy Hearth’s Warming, my little ponies.” Discord said with a wide smile.

Chapter 4

During the meeting in Canterlot, Twilight was informed of the four chaotic goats wreaking havoc in the other kingdoms. Afterwards, she paid a visit to each of the kingdoms to search for clues on the goats, but her search proved to be fruitless. She later returned to Ponyville right after Luna raised the moon, and she summoned her fellow Guardians of Harmony to her castle for an important discussion.

In the throne room, the ponies took their seats around a round table.

“So what do you need to talk about, Twilight?” Fluttershy asked.

“Please don’t tell me what I think it is.” Rainbow Dash said.

“Girls, I have important news to share with you all. Today, the goats brought turmoil to Griffonstone, Yakyakistan, the Dragon Lands, Changeling Kingdom, kirin village, and Mount Aris.” Twilight informed her friends.

“Oh dear.” Fluttershy uttered softly.

Rainbow then facehoofed. “Of course it’s them!”

“Oh no! Are the yaks okay?!” Pinkie showed concern.

“They’re fine. But most of their homes have been... demolished.” Twilight answered.

“Is there no end to these varmints’ trouble-making spree?” Applejack sighed.

“I find it oddly strange that the goats went on to rampage in the other kingdoms after Celestia posted royal guards in every town and city in Equestria. Too much of a coincidence if you ask me. It’s like the goats were aware of what we were up to. Before coming back to Ponyville, I searched for clues on the goats, but I’ve been coming up empty.”

Twilight was getting more flustered.

“How is it possible for them to go around causing trouble and not even leave a single strand of hair behind?! Nothing about these goats make any sense! I’m suspecting that the reason I couldn’t find anything is because something is making sure I don’t! Is there a foe we’re not aware of yet? Currently, the only information we have on the goats are the abilities they displayed so far. But with nothing to analyze, I have no way of determining their origins or their weaknesses, if they have any!”

“If there is a mastermind pulling the strings, then this could be a bigger problem than we thought.” Rarity said.

“I hope it’s not too scary.” Fluttershy shivered.

“Here’s another odd thing. All reported injuries were only minor. There are no reports of severe crippling injuries, hospitalizations, or loss of life. While I’m glad that’s the case, I consider it awfully peculiar, with all the damage the goats left in their wake.” Twilight stated.

“Well, guess you can sum it up to... cartoon logic. Besides, this story is not meant to be grim and gritty, not like the one in which we fought against an organization of ancient warmongering unicorns that wanted to destroy Equestria.” Pinkie commented nonchalantly.

The other five mares responded by giving Pinkie puzzled stares.

“Pinkie, can you please pick another time to spout random nonsense? Thinking about the goats is already giving me a huge headache.” Twilight groaned.

“Gee, be thankful this story won’t contain anything graphic like blood or gore.” Pinkie deadpanned.

“Anyway...” Twilight continued. “We’ll have to face the goats again eventually. My biggest concern is that these creatures are unpredictable and capable of anything.”

“We can take them. I know we can.” Rainbow said with confidence.

After the meeting ended, the Guardians of Harmony retired for the night.

In the chaos dimension, Discord observed the six ponies carefully. He was relieved to see that they do not suspect him, but he knew that could possibly change later. If they catch on, he would be forced to stop the goats’ mayhem and the last thing he wanted was to receive a harsh scolding from Fluttershy.

“What should I do?” Discord asked himself. “I know the fun would have to end eventually, but I don’t want it to be over just yet.”

The Lord of Chaos then lied on his couch. “I’ll give Equestria a break for one day. I’ll be spending time with Fluttershy tomorrow after all.”

Discord recalled his goats and kept them in the chaos dimension until further notice.

On the next day, the draconequus decided to visit the School of Friendship to liven up the classes. The professors, except Fluttershy, were deeply annoyed with his antics.

Throughout Equestria, the royal guards continued with their patrols.

At Silver Shoals, Iron Will was giving an assertiveness seminar. Due to his assistants being goats, guards kept a close eye on them, much to Iron Will’s chagrin.

At the desert village of Somnambula, a guard expressed his displeasure of being posted there.

“I don't like sand. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.” The guard complained.

“Suck it up, rookie!” Another guard responded to his complaint. “Like it or not, we have a duty here! Those goats could appear at any time! So do not let your guard down!”

After all classes in the School of Friendship were finished for the day, Discord and Fluttershy spent time together in the latter’s cottage, having tea and cakes. Fluttershy told him about the goats that have been causing trouble in Equestria, and Discord acted surprised and ignorant about them.

With the absence of the chaos goats, the day was uneventful. In the Canterlot royal castle, Celestia let out a sigh of relief after going through the whole day without hearing any trouble occurring.

On the next morning inside Tartarus, two of Equestria’s enemies, Tirek and Cozy Glow, were sitting idly in their cages completely bored out of their minds. They had been quiet for a long time.

“So...” Cozy Glow decided to break the silence. “Want to play a game to pass the time?”

Tirek just let out an annoyed grunt.

“How about a game of charades?” Cozy Glow went on.

“I prefer some peace and quiet.” Tirek answered flatly.

“Really? We’ve already been quiet for who knows how long. How much silence do you need?” The filly expressed some annoyance.

“Baaaaaaaaaah...!”

“Huh?” Both villains immediately turned their attention to the one who made the sound, and they saw the grey goat standing near their cages.

“Why is there a goat here?” Cozy Glow wondered.

Though bewildered by the goat’s presence, Tirek thought he saw an opportunity for freedom.

“Uh... hello there, stranger. If you would be so kind, could you please open this cage and let me out?” Tirek pleaded.

“Hey! What about me?!” Cozy Glow snapped.

The goat then released a cloud of pale-yellow gas that enveloped the two villains.

“Aaaaah! What is this?! It’s... It’s... suffocating!!!” Tirek screeched as he pinched his nose and his eyes teared up.

Cozy Glow and Tirek tried to hold their breaths as long as possible, but it was futile. They coughed and gagged for a short time before fainting with their faces turned green.

After the repugnant gas dissipated, Discord appeared inside Tartarus in front of Tirek’s cage. The draconequus gazed down at the centaur’s unconscious form with a smirk. He materialized a camera and took a selfie with Tirek in the background.

“Suck it, Tirek. Consider this as payback for the way you tricked me before.” Discord chuckled.

He then returned to the chaos dimension, ready to start a brand new day of chaos.

Inside Seaquestria, the ruler of both hippogriffs and seaponies, Queen Novo, was sitting comfortably on her throne. Mount Aris was still reeling from the recent chaotic incident, but Novo was just glad that her subjects are still all right. Since goats do not breathe underwater, Novo was confident that Seaquestria would be safe from them.

As she pondered on how four particular goats could cause so much damage, Novo noticed an unexpected visitor entering the throne room. It appeared to be an orange fish. What caught Novo’s eye was that the fish was wearing a strange metal helmet.

The queen stared quizzically at the fish, but before she could utter a single word, the fish’s helmet unleashed an energy beam that connected to her head.

Shortly afterwards, a group of seapony guards heard Novo screaming in terror. Alarmed, they rushed to the throne room, but once they arrived, their eyes widened and their jaws dropped upon seeing their queen with a huge head. The sight was so bizarre that the guards had a hard time processing this.

“THE FISH!!! SEIZE THE FISH!!!” Novo shrieked.

The guards were utterly confused, wondering why Novo ordered them to catch a fish. While they were indecisive, electric sparks engulfed the fish’s body and it stunned the guards as it blitzed pass them.

The fish then zoomed around Seaquestria like a bolt of lightning, charging through the underwater houses and leaving large holes on them. Any seaponies it swam pass were stunned with an electric shock.

While watching the pandemonium from his home, Discord looked at the fourth wall and said, “You didn’t think I forgot about Seaquestria, did you?”

In the colorful city of Las Pegasus, crowds of ponies were partaking in various fun activities such as riding on a rollercoaster or playing games in the arcade. The royal guards stationed there were extremely disappointed that they were there only to patrol and not to have fun. Needless to say, they were envious of the citizens for having a good time.

At the resort owned by Flim and Flam, the two unicorn brothers were in their office, brainstorming on ways to make more money.

“Any ideas, brother?” Flim asked.

“Nothing comes to mind.” Flam answered.

“Oink, oink!”

The brothers’ eyes widened upon seeing... a pig... in their office.

“Where did you come from?! You’re not supposed to be in here!” Flam exclaimed.

Just as Flim and Flam were about to try to remove the pig from their office, it suddenly released a cloud of revolting gas. The two unicorns gagged for a few seconds before fainting.

Elsewhere, a guard was on patrol outside of a hotel. During his patrol, he witnessed an ostrich entering a casino. He found it strange to see a large flightless bird wandering about, but he decided not to pay any mind to it since he was told to beware of goats.

Inside the casino, mares and stallions were minding their own business participating in gambling games. The ostrich approached one of the casino tables, where several ponies were playing poker. With a powerful peck, the ostrich broke the table in half, surprising all the nearby patrons.

“Hey! I was going to win!” One of the poker players snarled.

The ostrich then knocked out the pony by kicking him into a wall. The other ponies screamed and made a run for it. As they galloped away, the bird went around breaking or knocking over many casino tables. With panic quickly spreading, it also went to the slot machines and pecked them, breaking them open and spilling piles of Bits all over the floor. Royal guards rushed into the casino, and they were dumbfounded to see an ostrich being the culprit of this chaos.

While the ostrich was vandalizing the casino, an explosion occurred inside a buffet restaurant, which started a fire. Both the customers and restaurant staff fled to safety. As the restaurant burned down, the pig emerged out of the fire. Its whole body was engulfed in flames, but it continued walking like normal, much to the shock of the onlookers. A pig walking casually while burning was an extremely bizarre sight. The ponies weren’t given more time to stare as the pig commenced its own mayhem by spitting out balls of fire that explode on impact. The bystanders were lucky that none of the fireballs hit them, but the pig’s destructive rampage forced them to scatter.

In Manehattan, the population was active and noisy as usual. The streets and sidewalks were busy with everypony constantly moving from one place to another. Some nonpegasus royal guards were having some difficulty going around in this bustling city.

“When are these goats going to show up? I want some action already.” A guard moaned.

“Careful of what you wish for! I heard that even just one of these goats was a huge pain in the flank!” Another guard warned.

“But I’m bored! I need a little bit of excitement!”

The guard’s wish soon came true as he and his comrade encountered a crowd of screaming ponies running past them. The two guards then saw what the citizens were fleeing from. It was... a giraffe.

As it strolled around Manehattan, the giraffe fired laser beams from its eyes and blew up carriages in its path. Luckily, there were no ponies in those carriages.

“What should we do?! I thought we were supposed to be looking out for goats!!!” The guard who wanted action shouted.

“Notify Princess Celestia and Princess Twilight! I think they need to know about this!” The other guard advised.

Somewhere in Manehattan, a colt was celebrating his birthday along with his parents and friends at a pizzeria. The colt was about to blow out the candles on his birthday cake. Just then, a rhinoceros burst through the wall, frightening everypony inside the pizzeria.

A minute later, the creature charged right through the front entrance, breaking it apart, and stormed into the streets, demolishing any carriage in its way. Thankfully, nopony in the pizzeria was harmed, but the colt was crying because his birthday cake was smushed.

Back at the Castle of Friendship, Twilight was alerted to the chaos going on in Las Pegasus and Manehattan, and she summoned her friends to her castle.

“Girls! We have an emergency!” Twilight spoke with great urgency.

“Is it the goats again?!” Pinkie asked.

“Not exactly! It’s different creatures this time! Las Pegasus is under attack by a pig and an ostrich, and Manehattan is threatened by a giraffe and a rhinoceros!” The Princess of Friendship explained.

Naturally, Twilight’s friends showed a dumbfounded expression.

“First the goats, then a pig, an ostrich, a giraffe, and a rhino! What in Equestria is going on here?!!!” Rainbow yelled out irritably.

To catch all four creatures, the Mane Six decided to divide into two groups. Before they departed Ponyville, Twilight gave each of her friends magical orbs similar to the ones Tempest used to capture Celestia, Luna, and Cadance. She also provided Applejack an enchanted lasso that will completely immobilize any living creature it catches. Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity went to Las Pegasus while Twilight, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie headed towards Manehattan.

Las Pegasus...
After arriving at the cloud city, Rainbow, Rarity, and Applejack split up to cover more ground.

Rarity wandered the city for around fifteen minutes before discovering signs of trouble at a hotel. There, the ostrich was scaring away the hotel guests. Royal guards attempted to subdue it, but the ostrich knocked them out by pecking or kicking them.

Springing into action, Rarity rushed at the ostrich and threw a capture orb at it. The ostrich dodged the orb by jumping over it and then dashed away.

“Don’t think you’re going to get away, you ruffian!” Rarity chased after the ostrich.

While flying over the city, Rainbow spotted droves of ponies running out of an arcade screaming.

Inside the arcade, the pig (still covered in flames) continuously launched fire balls, blowing up all the games. When there was nothing left in the arcade to destroy, the pig wandered elsewhere to continue spreading panic.

Rainbow grabbed a cloud and poured rain down on the pig. After the flames around its body were extinguished, the pig stopped spitting fire balls. Rainbow then landed in front of the creature to confront it face to face.

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way.” The pegasus narrowed her eyes while holding up a capture orb.

An odd-looking helmet popped up on top of the pig’s head, and it released an energy beam that connected to Rainbow’s head. A mix of confusion and fear took hold of her as the beam made her head grow in size. When her head became ten times larger than the rest of her body, she screamed in sheer horror.

Meanwhile, Discord was crying with laughter. “Now Rainbow Dash has a head big enough to fit her ego!”

With Rainbow incapacitated, the pig’s body was then enveloped in brown sludge and the creature slipped away by sliding on the ground.

The pegasus grunted as she tried to lift herself, but her head was too heavy. The ostrich ran by with Rarity in pursuit, but the unicorn stopped once she noticed Rainbow.

“My goodness!!! What happened to your head?!!!” Rarity shrieked.

“Never mind me!!! Get the pig!!!” Rainbow urged.

Rarity gawked for a moment, but she soon shook her head to snap herself out of it.

“Don’t worry, Rainbow Dash! Once I see the pig, I’ll catch it!” Rarity declared before running off.

In the meantime, Applejack was scouring the amusement park. As luck would have it, she found the ostrich wrecking the game booths simply by running into them.

Applejack immediately gave chase and as she pursued the ostrich, she tried catching the bird with her lasso. However, the bird proved to be a nimble foe, being able to avoid capture. The chase eventually led to near a Ferris wheel.

“Would you just stay still for a minute!?” Applejack said frustrated after many failed attempts.

Rarity, who happened to be close by, hurled a trash can at the ostrich’s legs, causing it to trip and fall. Seizing her chance, Applejack lassoed the bird successfully.

“Yes! You got it!” Rarity praised.

A puff of smoke appeared around the immobilized ostrich without any warning, shocking the two ponies. The smoke dispersed to reveal the white goat in the ostrich’s place.

“I’m confused. What happened to the ostrich?” Applejack was completely baffled.

“Just hold it still! I’m going to use one of these!” Rarity prepared to throw a capture orb at the goat.

However, before she could do so, the sludge-covered pig crashed into her while sliding. The pig swiftly slid towards Applejack while she was caught off guard, causing her to release her grip on the goat.

“Oh, come on!” Applejack growled irritably as the pig and white goat were getting away.

Before the earth pony and unicorn could go back to chasing them, a stack of dynamite dropped in front of them without any explanation and exploded. Both ponies were knocked out by the explosion.

Manehattan...
Right after their arrival at Manehattan, Twilight, Fluttershy, and Pinkie also split up to find the two creatures that were bringing disorder to the city.

While soaring over Saddle Row, Twilight saw many of the boutiques there in shambles and numerous despondent ponies sitting on the sidewalks. She decided to stop by Rarity For You to check on the shop. Once she arrived, she found the place also in bad shape. Coco Pommel was sobbing while Smoky, Softpad, and Smoky Jr. tried their best to comfort her.

“Are you okay? What happened?” Twilight asked.

“It... it happened so fast! A rhinoceros came out of nowhere and... did all this!” Coco sniffled while pointing her hoof at all the damage.

“Rarity isn’t going to like this.” Twilight uttered nervously while looking at the ruined boutique.

While flying over a residential section of Manehattan, Fluttershy spotted the giraffe making its way through the city like a walking tower of destruction. Many guards tried to combat the creature, only to get blown away by its laser beams.

Fluttershy contemplated on throwing a capture orb at the giraffe, but then she opted to try to talk it down and give it a chance to surrender. She flew towards the giraffe and got into its face.

“Excuse me, Mr. Giraffe. I’m only going to say this once. ENOUGH WITH THE MINDLESS VIOLENCE!!!! YOU THINK ALL THIS DESTRUCTION IS FUN?!!!! WHAT YOU’RE DOING IS REALLY REALLY BAD!!!!” Fluttershy angrily yelled right in the giraffe’s face.

The giraffe did not express any emotions in response. A megaphone mysteriously materialized on top of its head and released a powerful sound blast, launching Fluttershy all the way to Manehattan Park where the pegasus landed into a tree.

Later, the giraffe went to the Bridleway Theater District, repeatedly firing laser beams and forcing the citizens to run in fear. Twilight arrived at the scene and tried throwing a capture orb at it, but the giraffe reacted quickly by turning its head towards the incoming orb and destroyed it with an eye laser before it made contact. The creature proceeded to assault the alicorn with continuous laser fire. Twilight generated a barrier to defend against the attack.

At another section of Manehattan, Pinkie heard a colt crying. She found the colt in front of the pizzeria. He was weeping while his parents tried to soothe him. Unable to ignore a sad foal, Pinkie went to the little pony.

“What’s wrong? Why are you sad?” Pinkie asked with great concern.

“I was having my birthday party with my parents and friends! And then a rhinoceros came and ruined everything, including my birthday cake!” The colt sniffled.

Pinkie let out a loud gasp and then her face turned red as she was boiling with anger.

“NO ONE RUINS A BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!” Pinkie bellowed with a demonic voice before dashing off to find the rhino.

As for the rhino, it continued its rampage at the flea market, trampling on the booths and crushing the merchandises.

“HEY YOU!!!!” Pinkie called out to the rhino, getting its attention. “HOW DARE YOU RUIN A FOAL’S BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!”

The rhino then charged towards Pinkie. With the strength of a demon, the pink pony stopped the rhino in its tracks with just her front hooves. She lifted the rhino, spun it several times, and flung it away with enough force to send it out of the city.

“Oops, I forgot I was supposed to capture it. Hee hee.” Pinkie smiled sheepishly.

Back at Bridleway, the giraffe continued attacking Twilight with laser beams, and the alicorn used a barrier to protect herself. Thinking of a plan of attack, Twilight teleported out of the giraffe’s sight. A second later, she appeared behind the creature and fired a humongous magical beam at point-blank range. The blast sent the giraffe crashing down hard to the concrete ground.

As the giraffe lied still, a giant puff of smoke emerged around it. When the smoke cleared away, Twilight had a look of shock on her face due to what she saw next. Now lying on the ground was the grey goat.

“It’s one of the goats!” Twilight exclaimed.

She was confused momentarily, but she regained her focus and threw a capture orb at the goat, trapping it in crystal. Before Twilight could use a transport spell to send the goat to Canterlot, something dropped from the sky and landed in front of Twilight, startling her. It was... another grey goat.

“Another goat?! Where did it come from?!”

In a surprising turn of events, more grey goats then fell from the sky, one after the other.

“Raining goats?! Are you kidding me?!” Twilight’s mind was boggled even more.

However, the goats that inexplicably fell from the sky just lied motionless on the ground. Twilight poked one of them with her hoof, but it did not respond. While she was distracted, the original grey goat broke free from its crystal prison, which the alicorn quickly noticed.

“You’re not going anywhere!” Acting quickly, Twilight used her magic to seize the goat before it escaped.

Her hold on the goat was short-lived as another goat dropped on top of her, knocking her out.

Sometime later...

Twilight...! Twilight...!

The alicorn groaned as she opened her eyes and saw her two friends. “Fluttershy? Pinkie Pie?”

“Are you okay?” Fluttershy asked.

Twilight looked around and saw that all the duplicate goats had disappeared.

“I’m fine.” Twilight sighed. “The giraffe... It was actually the grey goat.”

“It was?!” Fluttershy and Pinkie were completely surprised.

“I thought I had it, but it got away. What about the rhinoceros?”

“About that...” Pinkie chuckled nervously. “I threw it somewhere far far away.”

Twilight raised an eyebrow but did not bother questioning it. She then contacted Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity to hear how they fared. Before leaving Manehattan, Pinkie threw a party for the colt and baked a new cake to lift his spirits.

After being flung by Pinkie, the rhino landed in a faraway forest. It returned to its true form, revealing to be the black goat.

“Could it be?”

The goat turned towards the source of the voice. It was Chrysalis. She had frazzled hair and a crazed look on her face.

“Are you what I’ve been seeking?” She uttered hopefully.

With her magic, she lifted a large boulder and threw it at the goat. Using a headbutt, it shattered the boulder.

“Yes, I finally found one!” Chrysalis expressed her delight. “And now you’re mine!”

She lit up her horn and shot a beam of magic at the goat. Once the beam connected, it engulfed the creature in a green light. Her spell altered the goat’s appearance and made it look more devilish, with it now having six horns and glowing orange eyes.

“I also added a spell that will make you follow my every order unconditionally. Wouldn’t want to make the same mistake like with the treacherous duplicates of six certain insufferable ponies. With you as my servant, I will reclaim what is rightfully mine! But first, I need to exact sweet revenge on one pony in particular! Here’s my first command! Seek out Starlight Glimmer and make her suffer!”

The goat did not move an inch. It just stood idly and stared at the changeling.

“What are you waiting for?! Your queen orders you to deliver my vengeance!”

Instead of following her command, the goat let out a roar that sent her crashing into a tree. Chrysalis had the wind knocked out of her, but she managed to recover from the blow. However, she was furious at the goat’s disobedience.

“Why aren’t you obeying me?! You’re supposed to be under my complete control!!!”

Out of anger, Chrysalis fired a bolt of magic. The goat dodged the blast and used some kind of telekinetic power to lift her off the ground, slammed her into the trees several times, and then hurled her with great force into the air.

“WWWHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!” Chrysalis cried out in frustration as she disappeared into the distance.

Discord witnessed the confrontation and laughed at the former changeling queen’s expense.

“Tsk tsk tsk. I’m the one who decides what the goats do. They will follow no one except me. Even mind control spells won’t affect them.” The Lord of Chaos giggled. “But thanks for giving my friend a makeover. Now it really looks like an embodiment of chaos. By the way... there is something that you can help me out with.”

At Ponyville, the Mane Six returned to the Castle of Friendship to recover from their recent fiasco.

“Well, today could have gone better.” Rainbow Dash sighed.

“The goats can even shapeshift! What madness is this?!” Twilight screamed.

“They sure are full of surprises.” Applejack groaned.

Discord suddenly popped up in the castle.

“Everypony!” Discord shouted to get their attention.

“Oh, hey Discord.” Rainbow greeted with a frown.

“I found out who is responsible for all of your problems!” Discord said excitedly.

The Mane Six immediately shot up after hearing that.

“Wait, you did?!” Twilight’s eyes widened.

Discord snapped his finger and showed a visual footage of Chrysalis speaking to the black goat.

“CHRYSALIS?!!!” The Mane Six were completely shocked.

The footage showed Chrysalis casting a spell on the goat and giving it an order, but Discord left out the part after that.

“So... s-she's the... goats’ m-master?” Fluttershy stammered.

“No doubt about it.” Discord answered.

“Looks like she’s back and up to her old tricks.” Applejack chimed in.

“If Chrysalis is indeed the mastermind, then we need to catch her!” Rarity urged.

“Not to worry. You can leave her to me.” Discord volunteered. “You six should go collect the Elements of Harmony, just in case.”

“So now you decide to be helpful.” Applejack deadpanned.

Speaking of Chrysalis, she was searching for the black goat with her face showing bloodshot eyes.

“How dare that thing made a fool out of me!!! When I find it, I’ll make it wish it was never born!!!” She hissed with boiling rage just as Discord appeared behind her.

Chrysalis quickly turned around, but she blacked out after he snapped a finger. When she regained consciousness, she found herself inside a small room with walls made of stone and a single iron door. She was chained to the floor and her horn had a magic inhibitor ring on it.

Soon, the door opened and entering the room were the Mane Six, the last ponies she wanted to see, as well as Trixie and Discord. Twilight and her friends wore their Elements of Harmony as a safety precaution. As she received glares from the ponies, Chrysalis wondered if things could get any worse for her. What’s comforting for her was that Starlight, the one she despised most of all, wasn’t present.

The atmosphere in the room quickly became tense with Chrysalis giving death stares to her sworn enemies. If she wasn’t shackled, she would lunge at them in a heartbeat. The changeling’s angry eyes made the Mane Six cringe, but Discord just smiled. Trixie nervously hid behind the draconequus. There was an uncomfortable silence and no one said a word for a few minutes. Twilight loudly cleared her throat, deciding that she would be the first to speak.

“Chrysalis, we... have some questions for you.”

“What is it?” Chrysalis replied with a scowl.

Rainbow Dash then went up to her and looked her in the eye. With a furious tone, she asked, “Did you really created the goats that have been making problems for us!?”

“Yes, I brought them into the world!” Chrysalis’ mouth answered without a moment’s hesitation, but her mind screamed, “What?! Why did I say that?!

“But why?” Fluttershy meekly asked.

“I did it for revenge of course! I lost everything to you loathsome ponies! I was supposed to be living a life full of prosperity as the supreme ruler of all the land but instead, I was forced to live in exile without a kingdom to rule!”

“I really pity you.” Applejack spoke up with a glum expression. “You were shown that you don’t need to devour love. You don’t need to be Equestria’s enemy. But you couldn’t see it. You have no one to blame but yourself. Honestly speaking, I didn’t think you could sink any lower. I hope you’re happy with those goats you set loose on Equestria.

Wait! While it’s true I want nothing more than revenge against you ponies, the goats were not my doing!

Rainbow put her face close to Chrysalis’. “I don’t feel the least bit sorry for you. You’re going to get what you deserve. Now tell us! How do we stop the goats!?”

“I’m not telling you anything. Figure that out yourself.” Chrysalis sneered. “As a matter of fact, I really don’t know how! I’m not the one who created them! What’s going on?! My mouth is moving on its own!”

Losing patience, Rainbow prepared to punch Chrysalis in the face.

“Save your energy, Rainbow Dash.” Discord interrupted as he held Rainbow back. “It’s clear she has no intention to cooperate. I have a suggestion. How about using the Elements of Harmony to turn her to stone? Since the goats were created by her power, maybe imprisoning her in stone will stop them.”

“Ha! Try it! I dare you!” Chrysalis’ mouth provoked them. “No! Don’t!

“Will it really work?” Fluttershy questioned.

“Remember when I was making Ponyville the chaos capital of the world?” Discord responded.

“Ugh, don’t remind us.” Rainbow rolled her eyes.

“But I didn’t mind the chocolate rain.” Pinkie interjected.

“As I was trying to say...” Discord continued. “When you six used the Elements of Harmony on me, everything returned to normal, right?”

“Discord got a point. I say we turn Chrysalis into a statue right now. The sooner we get this done, the better.” Rainbow agreed with the Lord of Chaos.

“Hold on a moment. Let’s not be so hasty.” Twilight showed some hesitation.

“Twilight, remember the time she invaded Canterlot and nearly ruined your brother’s wedding? She imprisoned your former foulsitter, took her place, and attempted to steal your brother for herself. She even manipulated him into siding against you.” Discord said in an effort to sway her.

“I know, but...”

“Oh, and don’t forget she replaced you and your friends with changelings in a later plot to take over Equestria. And she would have succeeded had it not been for Starlight and Thorax.” Discord further stated.

Chrysalis growled after Discord reminded everyone the reason for her downfall.

“Even after everything she did, Starlight still extended a hoof of friendship to her. And how did Chrysalis repay that kind gesture? By swearing terrible revenge against her! The nerve of her if you ask me! And in only a few days, her revenge scheme has brought a lot of misery to everycreature! She sent one of her goats to attack her former subjects, just because they decided to make peace with ponies rather than continuing on with her quest to conquer Equestria! Such pettiness! It’s crystal clear that she should not be allowed to roam free!” Discord reasoned.

“Come on Twilight, Chrysalis made her choice! Think about all the libraries that were ruined because of her!” Rarity added.

“Not to mention, she’s a big mean party pooper! No foal has to experience the tragedy of a ruined birthday party!” Pinkie commented.

“Also... SHE NEEDS TO ANSWER FOR ALL THE DAMAGES DONE TO MY PRECIOUS BOUTIQUES!!!!” Rarity bellowed.

Twilight finally relented. “Alright girls, let’s do this.”

Nooooooooooo...! Why can’t I speak freely?! This cannot be how it ends for me!!!”

“Just wait a moment!” Trixie interrupted. The showmare then pulled a rotten tomato out of her hat and hurled it at Chrysalis’ face. “THAT’S FOR MY WAGON!!!!”

With that out of the way, the Mane Six activated their Elements of Harmony, and Chrysalis could only watch helplessly. Her anger had been replaced by a feeling of sheer hopelessness. The Mane Six released a bright rainbow beam that enveloped her. As her body was being turned to stone, she noticed Discord giving her a snide grin. To mock her, he pulled down his right eye’s lower eyelid and stuck his tongue out. Realizing that the draconequus set her up, she tried to let out a rage-filled screech, but she was fully petrified.

“Looks like we can call this case closed.” Rainbow let out a sigh.

“Hopefully, those varmints won’t appear again.” Applejack followed.

“I’m sure they won’t.” Discord assured.

“Let’s go back to Ponyville and have a party celebrating the capture of Chrysalis!” Pinkie cheered.

“There’s one thing I need to do.” Discord then conjured a camera and took a selfie with the petrified changeling.

“Sucks to be you, Chrysalis. Thanks to your choice to remain unreformed, you’re the perfect scapegoat for me.” Discord whispered into her ear before leaving the room with the Mane Six, happy with Chrysalis taking the fall.

Chapter 5

Previously, the Guardians of Harmony had another confrontation with the four goats, which ended with the ponies failing to capture them. Afterwards, the black goat encountered Chrysalis. She tried to turn the goat into her servant, but her hopes for revenge were thrown out the window when she learned the hard way that the goat could not be controlled by her. Her luck continued going south as Discord had her take the blame for the goats’ chaos-making spree. The draconequus captured her and convinced the Mane Six to use the Elements of Harmony to imprison her in stone. After she was petrified, the royal guards placed her in Tartarus.

The Guardians of Harmony returned to Ponyville and Pinkie threw a humongous party. Every pony in the town partook in the party, overjoyed that the one whom they believed to be the culprit behind the goat mayhem was captured and imprisoned. Discord indulged himself with some cupcakes and a cup of punch. He had no regrets for what he did to Chrysalis since she was a villain with pure malevolent intentions. As far as he’s concerned, it was the perfect way for him to avoid any suspicions. While Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were enjoying some cake, Scootaloo grumbled that the Mane Six did not take her along to Canterlot.

“I wish you took me along to see Chrysalis. I wanted to throw a rotten tomato at her face too. I’m still mad about what happened to my scooter.” Scootaloo pouted while talking to Rainbow Dash.

“Scootaloo, you know we can’t, in good conscience, allow you to go near someone as dangerous as her.” Rainbow replied.

Twilight’s friends were enjoying the party immensely, thinking that their ordeal with the goats was behind them, but Twilight herself had an uncertain look on her face.

“What’s wrong, Sugarcube? Got something on your mind?” Applejack asked curiously.

“How should I put this? Even though Chrysalis admitted that she was behind the goats, some things just don’t add up.” Twilight answered.

“What do you mean?” Applejack inquired.

“Think about this. Why didn’t Chrysalis keep sending the goats to Ponyville if she was out to get us? Why send them to various places? As a matter of fact, why didn’t the goats try to capture or destroy us when they had the chance? Back at Manehattan, Chrysalis had an opportunity for revenge while I was unconscious. Also, do you remember me mentioning that there were no reports of grievous injuries? Aside from all the vandalism, public disturbances, and destruction of property, those who encountered the goats got off easy. Considering how vengeful Chrysalis was, don’t you find it odd that not a single victim was crippled or maimed?”

“Twi, let’s not overthink this. Relax and enjoy the party. Have an apple tart.”

Twilight pondered for a minute, but then decided to follow Applejack’s suggestion.

As everypony hoped for, the goats did not appear since Chrysalis’ imprisonment. But on Celestia’s orders, royal guards continued to patrol every town and city in Equestria just in case. The guards who personally met the goats prayed that they never show up again. Discord was itching to set the goats loose again, but he decided to patiently wait for Equestria to lower their guard first. When no incidents occurred after two weeks, Celestia finally recalled the guards.

On the night of the sixteenth day after the last incident, Luna was doing her usual nightly duties. She was having a relaxing stroll through the dream realm until she heard somepony screaming. She then saw Blueblood having a nightmare in which he was seemingly falling to his doom.

“Not this again.” Luna sighed before intervening.

Blueblood was about to fall into a dumpster, but Luna materialized a giant mass of cotton to break his fall.

“How many times are you going to have this nightmare?” Luna groaned with annoyance.

“I can’t help it! That experience was traumatic for me!” Blueblood whined.

“You really need to see a therapist.” Luna deadpanned.

“Baaaaaaaaaah...!”

The bleat caught Luna and Blueblood’s attention. Appearing before them were the grey, brown, and white goats.

“AAAAAHH!!!!” Blueblood quickly fled due to his fear of goats.

The three goats were then engulfed in electric sparks. The grey goat bolted towards the fleeing Blueblood, aiming to strike him with its electrified horns. Luna used telekinesis to stop the goat just before it struck the unicorn.

At that moment, the white goat spit out a ball of lightning at the moon alicorn. Luna narrowly dodged that attack, but she was then hit by a lightning-fast tackle from the brown goat. As she was sent reeling back, the grey goat followed up by charging at her.

Luna rapidly generated a barrier, saving herself from taking another hit. Undeterred, the three goats went on to attack Luna with a barrage of electric-imbued headbutts.

“Insolent creatures! THE DREAM REALM IS MY DOMINION!!!!” Luna bellowed with her royal Canterlot voice as she unleashed a powerful wave of magic.

Once they were struck by the magical wave, the goats vanished in a puff of smoke.

“What a strange night.” Luna uttered.

Late Afternoon on the next day...

At a café in the village of Somnambula, Dr. Caballeron was sitting outside having a cold drink while thinking of a plan to bring down Daring Do.

The white goat was passing by in broad daylight wearing a backpack leaf blower. The goat activated the device on its back and blew sand in Caballeron’s face.

“HEY!!! WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA?!!!” Caballeron snapped as he shielded his face with his front hooves.

The goat just turned up the power and blew him away. Casually wandering around while keeping the leaf blower on at maximum power, the goat blew sand everywhere and brought about mass hysteria.

Somewhere else in the village, the Pillar of Hope, Somnambula, was having a meditation session with a group of ponies. The session was interrupted when a villager rushed to her frantically.

“Somnambula! There’s trouble! You have to help us!” The villager exclaimed while flailing his hooves.

“Please tell. What troubles you?” Somnambula asked calmly while still meditating.

The villager took a deep breath and then answered. “There’s a wild goat going around blowing sand everywhere!”

Somnambula immediately opened her eyes and showed a bewildered expression. She abruptly ended the meditation session and flew off to investigate. It did not take her long to find the goat.

Somnambula flew at the goat to stop it, only for the goat to aim its leaf blower at her. The Pillar struggled against the gale, but she was ultimately overpowered and blown away.

At Tenochtitlan Basin, the black goat (now Devil Goat thanks to Chrysalis) was taking an easygoing walk in the jungle.

Suddenly jumping out of the bushes and surrounding Devil Goat were four jungle cats: a tiger, a cheetah, a lynx, and a panther. The jungle cats snarled as they slowly and menacingly approached Devil Goat.

Before the jungle cats could pounce, their would-be prey used its power to seize them in a telekinetic grip, put them together in the shape of a ball, and then threw them around until they lost consciousness.

Devil Goat pressed on before coming to an ancient ruin. The creature just walked in through the front entrance like nopony’s business.

“WHO GOES THERE!?” An imposing voice echoed.

Greeting Devil Goat were Ahuizotl and his henchponies. While the henchponies pointed their spears at Devil Goat, Ahuizotl took a moment to gaze at the intruder. He was taken aback by the goat’s strange appearance.

“What manner of creature are you?” Ahuizotl asked with a raised eyebrow.

Devil Goat once again used its power to grab Ahuizotl and his henchponies, put them together into a ball like it did with the jungle cats, and tossed them like ragdolls.

Later at Daring Do’s house, the treasure hunter (while in her A.K. Yearling persona) was writing a manuscript for her next book.

The front door was suddenly knocked down, taking A.K. Yearling by surprise. Her eyes widened as Devil Goat trotted into the house.

“Who are you?! And... What are you?!” A.K. Yearling exclaimed.

Pandemonium broke out as books and furniture were flying all over the place. A.K. Yearling was launched out of the house through a window, and she watched in horror as her house crumbled down.

At Sire’s Hollow, Cheese Sandwich was throwing an enormous birthday party for a filly. The foals were having fun playing games or jumping in a bounce house while the adults mainly socialized and conversed with each other.

“Too bad Starlight couldn’t come today. She has been busy being the guidance counselor of the School of Friendship.” Firelight commented.

“Sunburst couldn’t make it either since he has his duties as the royal crystaller to Princess Flurry Heart of the Crystal Empire.” Stellar Flare added.

While the townsponies partook in whatever the party had to offer, the grey goat slowly walked into the town.

The goat trotted towards the cheery crowd and shapeshifted into the form of a T-Rex. The ponies gasped as their eyes bulged wide and their jaws dropped.

The T-Rex let out a thunderous roar and the ponies stared for a few seconds before they started screaming in fright and running for their lives.

Sire’s Hollow erupted into chaos as the townponies were running and screaming their heads off while the T-Rex demolished buildings by walking through them.

At Dodge Junction, a trio of pegasi known as the Washouts were performing one of their stunt shows. They amazed the crowd by flying through flames and electrically charged hoops, shooting themselves out of cannons, and soaring through obstacle courses filled with spikes and saw blades.

After the show, the three pegasi signed autographs for their fans. An hour later, Lightning Dust signed an autograph for the last pony in line. The Washouts were about to call it a day, but they were approached by the brown goat.

“Baaaaaaaaah...” The goat got their attention.

The Washouts then stared at the creature standing before them.

“Where did you come from?” Lightning Dust asked with a quizzical look.

“A goat? Come to think of it, I heard there was a group of them that caused a lot of trouble in Equestria a few weeks back. You don’t suppose this goat is one of them, do you?” Rolling Thunder said.

The goat swiftly knocked them out by headbutting them. When the Washouts regained consciousness, they found themselves tied up in ropes and lying next to a giant cannon.

“HEY! WHAT’S GOING ON?!” Short Fuse hollered while the Washouts struggled to get free, but the ropes were too tight.

While looking around, they saw the goat opening a hatch on the back of the cannon.

“Wait a minute. What are you going to do with us?” Lightning Dust asked nervously.

The goat then tossed the stunt ponies into the cannon, closed the hatch, and aimed the cannon at the sky.

“Stop! Let us out and untie us!” Rolling Thunder yelled.

“LET US OUT!!!!” Short Fuse cried out.

The goat pressed a red button on the side of the cannon, firing it. The Washouts screamed at the top of their lungs as they were launched high into the sky.

Later in the day, nighttime...

In Canterlot, hundreds of ponies, all wearing tuxedos and dresses, were making their way to the royal castle for one big occasion, the Grand Galloping Gala.

Those attending the gala included the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, Trixie, and the CMCs. The Young Six were also invited to participate.

As the guests entered the castle in droves, Celestia, Luna, and Twilight welcomed them.

“Is Discord coming?” Celestia asked Twilight.

“He said he won’t be joining us tonight because he has a terrible headache. I’m surprised that can happen to one such as him.” Twilight answered.

“That’s unfortunate. I was looking forward to seeing what chaotic antics he would bring to the gala.” Celestia commented.

“Ugh, after the ordeal with the goats, I think Equestria had its fair share of chaos.” Twilight groaned.

As the gala got underway, the guests mingled and partook in gourmet food. In the chaos dimension, Discord was observing the gala with his TV.

“Time for the real party to begin.” Discord chuckled.

“BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH...!!!!” An extremely loud roar echoed throughout the halls of the castle, startling all the guests and castle staff.

They all turned their attention to the source of the roar, and their eyes widened once they saw Devil Goat, the white goat, and the grey goat. Upon seeing the goats, Blueblood let out a high-pitched scream before fainting.

“The goats?!! They’re back?!! How can this be?!!” Spike exclaimed.

The goats wasted no time giving the ponies of high society a taste of chaos. Devil Goat used its power to throw the tables, food, and some guests around. While enveloped in electric sparks, the grey goat headbutted random ponies as it zigzagged in the castle at lightning-fast speed. The white goat used its backpack leaf blower to unleash gusts of wind. Within mere seconds, the royal ball was filled with mass panic.

“Sister, we must stop them!” Luna told Celestia.

“Guess this won’t be a dull night after all.” Celestia mumbled with a frown.

As ponies were getting headbutted, tossed around, or blown away, Applejack and Rarity shielded their sisters, and Rainbow Dash did the same for Scootaloo. The Young Six were hiding under a table.

“Isn’t there something we can do to help?” Ocellus asked while keeping her head down.

“Maybe we should let the princesses and the professors handle this.” Smolder replied.

“The goats haven’t appeared for over two weeks! Why now?!!” Silverstream cried out.

“Yona is not afraid!!! Yona won’t hide!!!” Yona then charged at Devil Goat.

“YONA!!! STOP!!!” Gallus and Sandbar shouted.

Devil Goat’s power seized Yona and hurled her in the air. Before Yona hit a wall, Starlight caught the yak with her magic and used teleportation to send her and her friends to safety.

Celestia and Luna stepped in to confront the party crashers, but Devil Goat let out a powerful roar that sent them flying into a wall. The brown goat then flew in through a window with a jet pack.

“Hey! That’s the fiend that broke my wagon in half!!!” Trixie bellowed.

While witnessing the goats’ rampage, Fancy Pants and Fleur Dis Lee tried their best to stay clear of this commotion.

“Oh dear. I think it’s best we take our leave.” Fancy Pants uttered with an anxious face.

He and Fleur attempted to sneak away but they were knocked out by the grey goat as it was zooming around. Photo Finish was taking pictures of all the mayhem until the white goat’s leaf blower blew her away.

Royal guards arrived to defend the castle. The unicorns fired a barrage of magic bolts, but Devil Goat used its power to neutralize the blasts. All the guards then rushed at the goats with their spears, only for Devil Goat to telekinetically pull their spears away from them. Subsequently, the brown goat rammed into the pegasi guards while flying around aimlessly. The grey and white goats dealt with the rest. The grey goat simply gave half of them electrically charged headbutts while the white goat blew the other half away.

Scootaloo wanted to go after the brown goat, but Rainbow held her back.

“Let me go! I want to get the brown goat!” Scootaloo yelled out loud.

“Don’t be stupid! Can’t you see how dangerous these goats are?!” Rainbow responded.

While Rainbow was preventing Scootaloo from doing something reckless, Trixie tried assaulting the brown goat by throwing anything she could pick up. However, the brown goat kept flying and dodged all the thrown objects.

“Just hold still and let Trixie hit you!” Trixie continued throwing random objects.

Eventually, she came up with another idea. She then tried using levitation magic to pull the goat down. The problem was that the goat was resisting her magic. Thus, it required great exertion to keep a tight grip on the goat.

With Trixie so focused on the brown goat, she failed to notice the grey goat heading her way. Luckily, Starlight teleported Trixie away before the goat crashed into her.

The grey goat then came rushing towards Starlight, but the unicorn unleashed a magical shockwave that sent the goat flying hard into a wall. Just as she was about to cast another spell, Starlight was blown away by the white goat and the brown goat collided with her in midair.

Twilight teleported the CMCs back to Ponyville, and with the fillies out of harm’s way, the Mane Six and Spike sprang into action.

Rainbow zipped towards the brown goat and delivered a strong punch, sending the goat crashing hard into the floor. The jet pack exploded, and the explosion sent the goat spiraling into the air. Rainbow then kicked the goat, sending it towards Devil Goat. The black-furred goat caught its fellow goat telekinetically and tossed it aside.

Spike breathed out a large torrent of green fire, but Devil Goat used its power to push back the flames. White goat followed up by blowing Spike back with a powerful gust, and Fluttershy caught the dragon.

Twilight used her magic to disable the white goat’s leaf blower, and Pinkie hurled a barrage of cakes at both Devil Goat and white goat. The two goats were not bothered in the least as they stood still and let the cakes hit them. While they were distracted, Applejack bucked the white goat with all of her strength, launching it through a wall and out of the castle.

Devil Goat used its power to hurl a multitude of objects at the Mane Six. Twilight and Rarity used their magic to repel them.

Celestia and Luna recovered, and they both fired beams of magic at Devil Goat. The goat reacted by using its power to hold back the two beams. Devil Goat and the princesses were locked in a power struggle for a short time until the goat’s eyes started glowing. Devil Goat unleashed a bright flash of light that blinded everypony momentarily. Once everypony regained their vision, the four goats disappeared.

With the goats gone, everypony took the time to recover from the uproar. The Mane Six were at a loss for words after seeing the goats again.

“What the hay is going on?!” Applejack spoke up. “Why are the goats back?!”

“Yeah!” Rainbow chimed in. “I thought we stopped the goats when we put Chrysalis in stone!”

“If the goats are back, then does this mean Chrysalis is also back?” Pinkie wondered.

“But that can’t be!” Rarity interjected. “Chrysalis should be in Tartarus!”

“I say we go see for ourselves.” Twilight said.

To check on Chrysalis, the Mane Six arrived at Tartarus via Twilight’s teleportation spell. They went to where Chrysalis was placed and discovered that she was no longer there.

“She’s gone!” Rarity said loudly.

“But how?! Where did she go?! She couldn’t have gotten out of her stone prison, could she?!” Rainbow was just as surprised.

The ponies then found something lying on the spot where Chrysalis’ petrified form used to be. A note was left behind and it said: A showdown will occur at the Crystal Empire tomorrow.

“This is just great. Chrysalis is free and the goats are causing problems for us again.” Applejack grumbled.

“Let’s ask Discord for help.” Pinkie suggested. “He captured Chrysalis once. He can do it again.”

Twilight nodded before calling out to the draconequus. “Discord! We need your help!”

The draconequus did not appear nor reply in any way. The Mane Six continuously called out to him for ten more minutes, but Discord never answered.

“Really?! Where is he when you need him?!” Twilight yelled out in frustration.

“Twilight, Discord said he has a very bad headache so maybe he needs to rest.” Fluttershy reasoned.

“The note says that the Crystal Empire will be attacked tomorrow. What are we going to do about the goats?” Rarity asked.

“All I can say for certain is that we cannot apply common sense to these creatures, so we need to keep our guard up and expect the unexpected.” Twilight stated.

Speaking of Chrysalis, she was in a remote forest, unpetrified and lying on the ground unconscious. Soon, her legs began twitching. She groaned as she opened her eyes.

“Wha... w-where am I?” Chrysalis uttered in confusion while standing back up.

She took some time to collect her thoughts and then everything came back to her. She remembered finding the black goat and attempting to subjugate it, only to fail miserably. She also recalled Discord capturing her and convincing the Guardians of Harmony to use the Elements of Harmony to turn her into stone. Remembering the humiliation, Chrysalis boiled with intense anger.

“Discord... YOU’RE GOING TO PAY!!!!” Chrysalis screeched before throwing a tantrum, firing magic blasts at the nearby trees.

She eventually calmed down after venting her frustrations for nearly twenty minutes. Once she calmed down, a few questions popped up in her head.

“Hold on, why am I free? How did I end up out here?”

She tried thinking of an explanation but decided to put those thoughts aside.

“No point dwelling on it. What matters now is MAKING DISCORD AND THAT INFURIATING GOAT SUFFER!!!!”

She then transformed into an eagle and took flight. While flying, an idea crossed her mind. She figured that the best way to find Discord and the black goat was to stay close to the Guardians of Harmony. She made her way to Ponyville, but she discovered a barrier around the town. She deduced that the barrier was a security measure against the goats and her. Not taking any risks, she decided to perch on a tree outside of the town.

The next morning...

In anticipation for the next confrontation with the goats, the Mane Six equipped themselves with their Elements of Harmony and traveled to the Crystal Empire via train. Spike, Starlight, and Trixie also tagged along. Scootaloo managed to sneak onto the train just before it left Ponyville. Up high in the sky, Chrysalis secretly followed Twilight and her friends while in her eagle form.

After a long train ride, the Guardians of Harmony arrived at the Crystal Empire. The empire’s royal guards were put on high alert and even the Pillars had assembled. Once she was inside the empire, Chrysalis transformed into her unicorn disguise. She came up with another idea. First, she will assist the Mane Six in defeating the goats. With any luck, that will draw Discord out, and that’s when she’ll strike. The thought of putting her hatred for the ponies aside and assisting them made her feel nauseous, but getting payback on Discord and Devil Goat was her primary concern for the time being.

Since the note left in Tartarus never specified the exact time the goats would appear, everyone in the Crystal Empire waited anxiously.

“W-when are the g-goats coming? All this suspense is driving me crazy!” Spike was feeling jittery.

“I understand how you feel, but we can’t lose our cool now. We’re not going to let Chrysalis and her goats have their way anymore.” Twilight said with a determined face.

Nearby, Chrysalis was secretly observing the Mane Six while hiding in plain sight. It deeply irked her that everyone believed her to be the culprit of crimes she didn’t commit, though she wished she actually was the goats’ master. She gritted her teeth while thinking of Discord, but she kept herself composed so she would not draw attention to herself.

While patrolling the empire, two royal guards spotted a penguin walking around. The guards were going to ignore it at first, but then they remembered reading reports of the goats’ shapeshifting abilities.

“Stop right there!” The guards accosted the penguin and crossed their spears in the penguin’s path.

One of the guards then scrutinized the penguin. “Can this really be one of the goats?”

The penguin simply slapped the guard’s face with its flipper. The creature even had enough strength to send the guard flying back. Shocked, the other guard immediately blew on a whistle to alert the empire.

The whistle caught the Mane Six’s attention.

“Let’s go girls!” Twilight commanded.

Just before the Guardians of Harmony leaped into action, they were suddenly enveloped inside dark green magic bubbles. Before they could fully process this, they vanished into thin air.

“TWILIGHT!!!!” Spike screamed.

A moment later, the Mane Six found themselves in a very dark place.

“AAAAAAAH!!! It’s dark!!! Very dark!!!” Pinkie screeched.

Twilight lit up her horn to illuminate their surroundings. The six ponies appeared to be inside a cavern. The walls and ceilings are covered with green crystals that reflect the light coming from Twilight’s horn.

“W-where are we?” Fluttershy asked softly.

The six then heard maniacal laughter, and the voice sounded like Chrysalis.

“Chrysalis! Where are you!? Show yourself!!!” Rainbow Dash bellowed.

“It’s not your turn. You six will have to wait here. For now.” The voice said.

Twilight attempted to teleport herself and her friends back to the Crystal Empire, but her teleportation spell was nullified.

“Ah ah ah. You’re not going anywhere until I say otherwise.” The voice mocked.

“You won’t get away with this!” Rarity yelled.

Back in the Crystal Empire, the penguin was sliding around on the crystal ground while frustrating the pursuing guards. Eventually, the penguin was ensnared in vines controlled by Mistmane.

When thirteen guards surrounded the penguin, the latter changed to its true form, the black-furred goat. The creature released a psychic blast, freeing itself and incapacitating the surrounding guards and Mistmane.

Devil Goat then dodged a beam fired by Starlight. The goat used its power to hurl a maelstrom of random objects at the unicorn. Starlight generated a barrier to protect herself.

Chrysalis (still in her unicorn disguise) stepped in and used her magic to slam Devil Goat into the ground.

“Thanks for the help." Starlight showed her gratitude, unaware of who she was talking to. Chrysalis did not utter a single word.

If anyone’s going to have the pleasure of tormenting you, it will be me.” Chrysalis thought to herself.

Undaunted by Chrysalis’ surprise attack, Devil Goat instantly rose back up and sent out another psychic blast, causing both Starlight and Chrysalis to reel back. The other three goats entered the fray, dividing the attention of the other Pillars and guards. Trixie confronted the brown goat.

“Beware, you diabolical goat! The Great and Powerful Trixie has a score to settle with you!” Trixie bellowed at the brown goat.

She threw firecrackers at the goat, which literally had no effect at all. The goat retaliated by unleashing a mini tornado. Trixie let out an ear-piercing shriek as the tornado carried her away.

Scootaloo proceeded to throw rocks at the brown goat’s head. But no matter how many rocks she threw, the goat never paid any attention to the filly. Flash Magnus carried Scootaloo away while guards rushed the goat, only to receive headbutts and kicks.

The white goat tossed sticks of dynamite erratically, scaring guards with explosions. The grey goat was carrying a jousting lance in its mouth. It wildly swung the lance around, whacking incoming guards away.

To put an end to the ongoing madness, Star Swirl conjured a magical vortex, the same one he used to banish a trio of sirens to another world. With telekinesis, he seized the four goats and threw them towards the vortex. The goats vanished as soon as they were sucked in.

“It is done.” Star Swirl said.

Just when he thought it was over, the four goats popped out of thin air in front of him.

“That’s not possible!” Star Swirl’s eyes widened in shock.

Devil Goat unleashed a fearsome roar, blowing Star Swirl back and knocking him unconscious. Devil Goat then teleported to somewhere else while the other goats resumed running amok.

Grey goat went back to swinging its lance around. Somnambula flew at the goat, just to get swatted away by its lance. Rockhoof rushed in and used his shovel to attack the goat. The Pillar and the goat fiercely clashed their weapons until Rockhoof broke the goat’s lance. He then struck the goat in the face, sending it rolling back a considerable distance. Unfazed, the goat quickly got back on its hooves. It transformed into its muscular form, but this time, it was also wearing armor covered with spikes. Rockhoof charged at the goat again and swung his shovel, but the goat countered with a headbutt powerful enough to send the Pillar flying. Guards rushed at the goat from multiple directions with their spears pointed at the creature. The goat jumped straight up and then slammed down, creating a shockwave that blew them back.

Meanwhile, Spike was standing in the brown goat’s path.

“Y-you’re n-not taking another s-step! I’ll f-fight... I’ll fight you!” Spike stammered.

The goat’s body turned blue, and the creature started spinning rapidly like a wheel on the spot.

“Huh?” Spike was so bewildered that he did not know how to react.

The goat then dashed towards Spike at high speed. The dragon yelped as he jumped out of the way. The goat kept going in its current direction until it crashed into the crystal statue of Spike. The statue fell over and shattered into hundreds of pieces.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...!!!!” Spike cried out dramatically after witnessing the destruction of his statue.

The goat changed back to brown and used its tongue to pick up and throw the statue’s fragments around, like a foal playing with toys.

Furious at the goat, Spike breathed out a wide stream of fire at it. The goat was covered in flames, but to Spike’s surprise, it was not disturbed by its burning fur. The goat struck back by spitting out a ball of fire at the dragon, sending him flying into a nearby building.

After putting Scootaloo in a safe place, Flash Magnus came back and flew at the brown goat. The flaming goat aimed a barrage of fireballs at the approaching Pillar, and the pegasus used his shield to block the fiery projectiles. Brown goat then spit out a much larger fireball and overpowered Flash Magnus with a huge explosion.

As for Meadowbrook, she tried stopping the white goat by throwing potions at it. Unfortunately, her attacks were utterly ineffective. White goat shot out a blue spark from its mouth, and when it hit Meadowbrook, she flailed uncontrollably as her body was surrounded by blue sparks. While Starlight and Chrysalis were firing magic blasts at the grey goat, the white goat launched blue sparks at the two, causing them to spasm. Chrysalis was lucky that she was able to maintain her disguise.

Inside the royal palace, Devil Goat was tearing the library apart. Sunburst got caught in the goat’s rampage and so he was tossed around. Many guards came to face the goat, but after they entered the library, they were assaulted by a storm of books.

When Devil Goat strolled out of the library, it was confronted by Cadance, Shining Armor, and many more guards. Devil Goat casually released a dark shockwave that rendered all of them unconscious. The goat then took a stroll through the hallway. Suddenly, somepony appeared right in front of the creature.

Flurry Heart confronted Devil Goat, wanting to avenge her Whammy. She narrowed her eyes, preparing for a showdown. Devil Goat just stared at the baby alicorn with its usual vacant expression. The baby alicorn began with a bombardment of magic blasts, but Devil Goat used its power to nullify her attacks. The goat then tossed Flurry out of a window, but it was no problem for her since she can fly. The baby alicorn teleported and reappeared above Devil Goat. She fired a powerful magical blast, sending the goat down through several floors.

As usual, Devil Goat got back up like nothing fazes it. Flurry Heart continued with her attack and fired a continuous beam, which Devil Goat was pushing back. The two were locked in a power struggle until the baby alicorn poured more power into her attack. Flurry kept launching her adversary through walls, but the latter would not stay down. The baby alicorn may have great magical power, but the one advantage Devil Goat has is that it doesn’t feel pain. In fact, the four chaos goats don’t even have the concept of pain.

Inside the mysterious cavern, the Mane Six were trying to find a way out. Twilight tried blasting the walls, but her magic did not leave a scratch.

“Come on! Is there any way out of here?!” Rainbow was expressing her unease.

“I’m not sure if there is, darling. There’s no exit in sight.” Rarity was also getting worried.

“Seems like all we can do is wait for Chrysalis to let us out.” Pinkie remarked.

“We can’t just sit here and do nothing! Who knows what could be happening in the Crystal Empire right now!” Twilight continued searching for a solution.

Soon, a sudden flash of light appeared directly above their heads, forcing the Mane Six to cover their eyes briefly. Once they opened their eyes again, they found themselves back in the Crystal Empire.

“Hey! We’re back!” Pinkie jumped up with joy.

“Look!” Fluttershy pointed her hoof towards the grey, white, and brown goats.

The Guardians of Harmony were about to use the Elements of Harmony, but white goat and brown goat launched lightning sparks and fireballs, disrupting their focus and putting them on the defensive. Grey goat charged at Applejack to headbutt her. The Earth pony dodged and caught the goat with her enchanted lasso. Grey goat resisted the lasso and slammed its body on the ground, producing a shockwave that knocked Applejack off balance.

At this moment, Flurry blasted Devil Goat out of the castle, sending the creature plummeting into the streets. A crater was created on where the goat fell. Far from finished, Devil Goat rose back up once more and let out a loud roar. Once the other three goats heard this, they immediately headed for their black-furred ally, as if they were answering a call. Twilight and her friends followed them.

It did not take long for all four goats to assemble. Devil Goat was then engulfed in a dark aura, and it released energy streams that connected to the other three goats. In the following moments, Devil Goat increased in size while the rest of the goats faded away. The Mane Six stared with their mouths opened wide as Devil Goat grew to the size of a giant.

From its horns, Mega Devil Goat fired a dark energy beam at a crystal house. The house disintegrated, but the crystal ponies inside were left unharmed. After their house was vaporized, the ponies just screamed and ran away. Mega Devil Goat then fired a beam at another house, disintegrating it as well.

“We have to stop this thing or else the Crystal Empire will be destroyed!” Applejack pointed out the severity of the situation.

“Then there’s one thing we need to do! Use the Elements!” Twilight urged.

The Mane Six prepared to use the Elements of Harmony, but Mega Devil Goat interrupted them with a roar, sending out shockwaves that forced the six ponies to scatter.

The creature went on creating even more damage with hardly any opposition. Starlight and Chrysalis tried using their magic to slow down the goat, but none of their spells had any effect. Rainbow flew towards Mega Devil Goat at breakneck speed, only to be repelled by a dark magical pressure surrounding the giant creature. Twilight, Rarity, Starlight, and Chrysalis initiated a combined barrage of magic blasts, but all their efforts proved to be fruitless.

Back in the castle, Flurry Heart went to her unconscious parents and repeatedly poked them with her hoof until they regained consciousness.

“F-Flurry?” Cadance uttered after opening her eyes.

While babbling, Flurry pointed to the outside. Cadance and Shining Armor then looked out of the castle and saw Mega Devil Goat destroying one building after another.

“I think there is a way to stop it!” Cadance came up with a plan.

She explained it to her husband, and the family went to the Crystal Heart.

“Are you ready?” Cadance asked as they stood close to the crystal.

“Ready!” Shining Armor answered.

Cadance, Flurry Heart, and Shining Armor lit up their horns together and combined their magic. The Crystal Heart glowed brightly and magnified their power.

A radiant magical wave spread throughout the Crystal Empire, giving everypony inside the empire a crystal-like shine. Since Chrysalis has a wicked heart, the magic wave forced her out.

“NOT AGAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIINNNNN!!!!” Chrysalis wailed as she was launched far away from the empire.

Mega Devil Goat wasn’t blown away, but the wave did stun it, providing an opening for the Guardians of Harmony.

“Now girls!” Twilight shouted.

Using the Elements of Harmony, the Mane Six released a huge rainbow beam that completely enshrouded the gigantic goat. The creature did not let out a single cry as it dissipated inside the rainbow light.

With the apparent defeat of their adversary, the six ponies let out sighs of relief. Shortly afterwards, they heard clapping. They turned their attention to the source of the sound and saw that it was Discord.

“Well done. Bravo.” The draconequus applauded.

“You were watching the entire time?! Why didn’t you help?!” Rainbow shouted.

“Come now. I always knew you would succeed.” Discord answered nonchalantly.

Twilight then approached Discord with a stern look.

“Discord, I think it’s time you owe us an explanation. Chrysalis wasn’t behind the goats, was she?” Twilight narrowed her eyes at the Lord of Chaos.

Twilight’s friends had an expression of shock on their faces, but before the alicorn could continue, Discord quickly snapped his finger and the whole world was engulfed in white.

In the next minute, everything returned to normal. All the damage the goats had done has been reversed, like they never happened. At Ponyville, the Guardians of Harmony were teaching their classes in the School of Friendship, the CMCs were attending class in the Ponyville Schoolhouse, and Trixie was taking a nap in her wagon. In the Crystal Empire, Flurry Heart was playing with her Whammy. In Canterlot Castle, Celestia and Luna were having a private discussion concerning their plans to retire and pass on the ruling of Equestria to Twilight and her friends. As for Chrysalis, she is back to spending her days in hiding and plotting revenge on Starlight and the Mane Six.

Back in the chaos dimension, Discord was feeling slightly depressed.

“Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Shame I had to erase everyone’s memories of the goats, but it’s for the best. Twilight was about to correctly accuse me of being responsible for all the chaos, and she and her friends would say something like, ‘Discord, what you did was terrible. You caused so much damage and endangered innocent lives.’ Blah Blah Blah. But hey, I made sure no creature got hurt... badly. Yes, there was that one timberwolf that got smashed into tiny pieces back in the first chapter, but... I’m certain nopony would care about that random predator.”

The draconequus then lay on his couch and closed his eyes as he began contemplating what to do moving forward.

“I could resummon the goats, let them run around Equestria once more, and erase everyone’s memories again. But it wouldn’t be as interesting as the first time.”

After a few hours of deep thinking, Discord’s eyes opened wide as he just remembered something. He then teleported to a cave and snapped his finger, bringing the four goats back into existence, with the black goat back in its original form. With another snap of his finger, the Lord of Chaos created a portal that leads to the human world.

“My friends, you’re going to another place. However, be warned that I won’t be able to intervene if you get into a bind since this is another dimension. Of course, I placed magical safeguards on each of you, so you won’t cripple, maim, or unalive anyone, whether directly or indirectly. Wouldn’t want any of that on my conscience. Now go have fun. Lots of fun.”

The goats entered the portal, heading for the human world. And with that, the saga of the goat chaos in Equestria has come to a close. But one ending is a new beginning. How will Sunset Shimmer and her friends handle all the chaos that’s coming their way? This is a story for another time.
