Sprout had a good evening planned being cooped up in their office as acting Sheriff while Hitch galloped toward Sunny's mess involving a unicorn.

The red earth pony eye rolled at the sight of their childhood picture on Hitch's desk with bitter thoughts about Sunny.

They were taught in school how malicious unicorns were, why she gotta be blind from facts right in front of her?

His eyes then drifted to Hitch, the colt who has everything he doesn't. Hopefully, that'll change tomorrow night. Maretime Bay needs him and his mom guidance.

He didn't notice an intruder already in their office staring behind him with a piercing glare, until the mysterious voice made itself known. "Is that why you actually hate us? Huh, was expecting something less petty."

Sprout didn't have enough time to defend himself or panic due a green gas filled their office.

Once, the gas cleared up there were no pony inside.

The next few minutes, Sprout got no clue how he winded up in severe snowy weather on the clouds of all places his inconvenient kidnapper dropped him off at!

He tries getting off slowly from the snowy cloud.

"Whoa, you're not suppose to be up here! Tho, I'm kinda impressed."

He looked to his side with chattering teeth in disgust at the blue Pegasus arrived on his cloud.

Soarin eyes went toward his badge with a grin. "Sheriff? Oh, you're related to the apple family?" He casually walked right up to the shaky earth pony. "Well, anyway lets get you back down safely."

"Back off." Sprout says before he galloped passed from the disbelief wonderbolt.

"You don't have wings, like where are you going?" Soarin tells him dumbfounded standing on edge of cloud watching this odd red pony looking for an safe exit.

"Why am I even up here?! I was about to eat my last slice!" Sprout sat down bitterly on the cold wet surface. "I'm gonna freeze top it all off!" He whispered loudly.

Soarin sighed. "Are you done? I gotta report back."

Sprout gasped at blue wings covered his form. Without thinking, he shoved the Pegasus roughly away making them fall on opposite sides of the cloud.

"Are you kidding me right now?!" Soarin questioned while trying to gather himself from the air.

Sprout on the other hoof, was sprawling all over the place in a deep panic.

"Hold on, I got you!"

His rescuer had to be a flyer! However, he wasn't unwise the second time.

Once, the wonderbolt got them safely on ground immediately Sprout took off.

"The stores are closed and you're all bare!" Soarin shouted trying reason the panicky earth pony who didn't listen. "You freezing to death out here in front of me will give me more paperwork in the morning!"

Sprout didn't listen no matter how numb his hoofs are feeling, theres worse ways to go. Just like his mother said countless times. "Get away from me!"

He grumbled at being followed through a block of buildings during his slow movement.

"Where do you live? I can just fly you there in a jiff-"

"Never, telling you." Sprout said before he collapsed on snow not able to go further.

Sprout eyes flew opened to being under a warm electric blanket on some pony’s couch, he finally gotten snatched away just like his mother’s words.

He side glanced his captor sitting in kitchen table writing something without his uniform on while displaying those wings, which a few feathers were chipped off.

“Alright, you’re alive so I can check that off.” Soarin casually mentions tiredly with his back turned.

Sprout muttered under his breath angrily as he’s clinging onto the warmth. “Heating up your meal? I’m not good for the stomach, just so you know.”

Soarin swiftly turned with a weird speechless expression.

“I will never give my location to you or maybe I should.” Sprout snaps the wonderbolt out of it.

Soarin watched as the red earth pony rose up with his blanket and looked out the window. “Rushing out in the snow bare again, Beetroot?” He then muttered to himself. “Wished the other wonderbolts were here instead of me.”

Sprout swallowed thickly at his cutie mark gotten mentioned from this Pegasus. He did a double take. “Wait, Wonderbolts?”

Soarin grinned before leaving his desk which made the earth pony stuck himself to the wall. “Yeah, didn’t recognized my uniform? I’m Soarin.”

“I’m in the past?! No, he’s just messing with me.” Sprout tried convincing himself.

“Past? Whoa, I kinda believe it and don’t.” Soarin spread his wings in excitement. “Tell me everything about myself, beetroot.”

“ If I say anything, you’ll let me leave?” Sprout whispered annoyance from against the wall for protection.

“Unfortunately, I’m still on the clock and can’t leave you poking around the wonderbolts headquarters.” Soarin sighed.

The next morning, Sprout woke up on a spare Wonderbolt’s academy bed while sporting a hopeful grin that he’s back home, but his grin fell upon seeing the Pegasus asleep a few beds away or pretending to be.

“I actually fell asleep next to a Pegasus, mom will be so furious.” Sprout mumbled in his pillow.

Soarin opened his eyes reveling a tired look. “Now I can finally get you out of my mane, Twilight should be back in town by now, with all her bookworm knowledge.”

“I betrayed my own mother.”

Soarin ignored his muffled words. “You seem legit, Gust sounds like a name me and rainbow would’ve come up with.” His cheeks redden.

“Leaving? You’re actually letting me leave this huge cloud alive?” Sprout rose his head above the fluffy yellow pillow.

Soarin sat up on his own bed before nodding slowly. “Yes? Are you feeling okay under the mane?”

“I am, past Pegasus.” Sprout scoffed before hopped off the bed. He then started to dash away

“That doesn’t mean you’re allowed to use the carriage, stop you’re gonna get me in trouble!” Soarin groaned before racing after him.

Sprout looked behind him with disgust look. “I’m not gonna let you get the chance.” He made a u turn with intention of colliding with the Pegasus.

He halted upon seeing Soarin lifted himself off the ground and directed a glare at him. Bad plan, again.

“…Get the chance for what exactly?” Soarin finally went back down with curiosity as the earth pony winced at close proximity. “And alive? Is some pony after you?”

“Uh…” Sprout’s mouth couldn’t finish the rest as a flood Pegasus’s and Pegasi’s chatter passed by them.
