The First Time She Faded Away
It was a typical day on the rock farm. Maybe about three weeks after Pinkie had showed them her cutie mark. She was jumping around with an energy that just couldn't be described as hyper.
Like usual the young fillies were moving rocks. That's what they were used to, but, there was Pinkie running her little mouth at rapid speed. Oh, and Limestone was absolutely getting sick of it.
"You know sometimes I have this little voice in my head saying "Pinkie, what kind of parties are you gonna throw!? What if everypony doesn't like your parties!? What would you do then!?" and I just shrug it off saying "Eh I'll deal with it, that is if they ever don't like them, which is never going to happen!" So then I was thinking about throwing a kind of not surprise party but maybe"
Yeah, definitely getting sick of it. She took a deep breath and left the rock she was pushing behind. Trotting up to her sister, she tapped her rough but not so hard that she fell over. "Huh?" Her high pitched voice wasn't helping at all. "Oh, Limestone! I was just thinking about what party to throw for you! Such as maybe a quieter type of party as you're not much of an extrovert but then again what if-"
"Oh my god Pinkamena! Will you please just shut up! You're so annoying! It's all "Blah blah blah this" and "Blah blah blah that" sometimes I wish you'd never got that cutie mark!"
She should have stopped right there, but she just kept going. Pinkie's face was slowly deflating by each word as her eyes teared up.
"You know, I sometimes also wish that you weren't even born! Maybe then I wouldn't have to put up with your awful talkative mouth! Why are you even here!?"
She finally got it all out of her system and Pinkie ran off crying. She only just realized what she said when her mother gasped "Limestone Pie!" Her father and sisters trotted up to them gaping at what they just witnessed. "Mom! I'm sorry,I didnt,I can't believe, she was just talking so much!"
"Ah, ah, ah. You don't apologize to me, you apologize to your younger sister, Pinkamena just got her cutie mark a few weeks ago and she works so hard to make us happy when we aren't, even you" Cloudy said to her daughter with a slight growl in her voice. "Yes ma'am" Limestone says with guilt "Good, now let's go find your little sister" And so they looked almost everywhere besides the warehouse.
The warehouse, It was where Pinkie had took refuge for her party supplies and other materials, no one was sure how she got them, or why she also sometimes looked straight when she talked, almost as if she was narrating a movie but, they didn't bother asking. There was no crying from the little house, however through the window Igneous could make out a small pink figure.
"She's in there" He said to his wife, then looked at Maud and Marble "You guys should go in first, you guys are the ones she trusts the most out of all of us" Maud just simply gave a dull nod and dragged the shy filly along in with her.
Maud noticed, the place was darker than she remembered. it was normally bright and full of life. It was Pinkie's bedroom or as she declared it her "Party Cave"
She hummed while Marble gave little whines at the scary atmosphere. "What do you want?" They heard a voice slightly lower pitched but still high say. "Pinkie Pie? Limestone wants to apologize, we're gonna send her in now, ok?"
Pinkie Pie said nothing for a minute but then a breath was heard "Fine, but warn her, I won't accept a whiny and unforgiving apology" She muttered through her teeth.
Limestone came in and sat a bit further in front of her two sisters. "Pinkie? About that incident we had earlier?" She paused trying to think of a good apology that Pinkamena would accept. "Look, I don't know how to say this to you, but I'm going to try my best, I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to say all that, it was like my mouth ran on it own, I was just so annoyed by now talkative you are now, I know this isn't really a good apology but I'm really trying, just please come out and face me"
Their parents came through the door, quietly shutting it behind them. "I accept this" but what they saw was shocking. With one hoove in front of the other she came out, her hair straight and flattened. Like it was before her cutie mark appeared.
Her coat and mane were a faded dull pink, it wasn't bright and vibrant. She had this angry look on her face and a deep frown. It looked like it could rival Limestones. Tear stains were down her cheeks but they were dried up.
Limestone slowly came forward wanting to show thanks. She wrapped her hooves around Pinkie's neck in a hug. But a sharp pinch poked her side and she hissed out in pain.
The older filly held that area under the presser of her hoove. Pinkie gasped and slid something underneath her tail. Cloudy quickly ran up to her side and her eyes went wide when she took off Limestones hoove. There was a wound and it was bleeding, it looked similar to a scar but she knew it was clearly a cut. "I need bandages stat!"
Maud quickly threw the supplies over to her mother and watched as she bandaged Limestone. "What happened?" Pinkie Pie shifted her hooves around.
That's when Maud noticed a bright gleam shine. She quickly made her move to pick it up in her mouth and lay it in front of her so everypony could see. It was a knife, she looked up at Pinkie and confusion overcame her. "Why do you have, " She didn't finish her sentence when her younger sister stood back up ready to turn around and head back into the corner.
"Your cutie mark!" Everypony in the room noticed that Pinkie's cutie mark had red liquid pouring out of a perfectly made cut at the top of her balloons. Like she was intending to, cut it off. Limestone noticed how much of a mistake she made. Why did she try to cut it off!? She lunged at her sister with tears flowing down her cheeks.
That's when Maud promised to take better care of Pinkie. That's when Limestone promised to never snap at Pinkie. Most importantly, they all promised to never let pinkie out of sight until they made sure she wouldn't hurt herself again.
