> Worth The Wait > by That_One_Bat_Pony > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Morning After. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the gentle sunlight seeps in through the window unfazed by the drawn blinds Rainbow Dash's eyes slowly creep open. Dazed from the early hour she glances around the room to get her bearings, only she doesn’t recognize them. Panic slowly setting in Rainbow Dash starts looking around more frantically trying to figure out what's going on. Finally after a few seconds as her eyes adjust to the light, Rainbow finally recognizes where she is. The room is big with a light purple ceiling, big bookshelves built into the walls, a large telescope next to the closed window, and sitting on a small desk in the corner is a framed photo of a certain purple mare standing next to princess Celestia with a big smile on her lips. “Oh, horsefeathers.” Rainbow mumbles glancing down. For the first time since coming to, Rainbow finally notices the large lump in the blanket next to her slowly rising and falling in a constant pattern. Taking a large gulp the multi colored mare carefully slips her hoof under the covers and pulls them back. There, right next to her is Twilight Sparkle peacefully sleeping, a small grin on her face. ‘What happened last night’ Rainbow wonders, trying to recount the events of the evening prior. ‘I definitely went out with all my friends, except rarity who said she couldn’t come, and she didn't like alcohol anyway. Applejack went home early because she had to wake up early and Fluttershy volunteered to escort a very drunk Pinkie home. Oh that’s right. Twilight had too much to drink and I said I’d get her home safely. I must have gotten her into bed and accidentally passed out.’ The more Rainbow thought, the less sense that made. Then she remembered ‘wait wasn’t I wearing a jacket and sweatpants last night? Where are they?’ Rainbow Dash once again surveys her surroundings this time searching for her lost clothes. After about 20 seconds she spots them. Strewn about the floor next to Twilight’s dress. ‘How did they…’ Rainbow's thoughts are cut off as she finally remembers what happened after she got Twilight inside.  *  *  * “Well I’ll be off, I’m sure you can handle getting to bed on your own.” Rainbow said, walking towards the door. “Wait!” Twilight called out, grabbing the other mare’s hoof. “What is it Twi?” Rainbow asked, glancing down at the intoxicated mare. “Well, Spike’s helping Rarity with her work tonight and he said he’d be spending the night out. Which mean I have the house all to myself” “And?” Rainbow asked. “Well I thought we could maybe… you know.” “Twilight I’m not sure I… Hmpf” Rainbow’s sentence was cut short by her friend drunkenly smashing her lips against hers. Dash’s eyes went wide, she didn’t know how to process this. Twilight, one of her best friends was kissing her. Why? How did this happen? Trying to defuse the situation and not make things awkward, Rainbow pulled away to speak. “Wow… you’re really not good at this.” “Like you could do any better.” Twilight retorted. looking into Dash’s eyes, the flush on her cheeks deepening. “Trust me I could do way better than that fillylike kiss you just gave me.” “Prove it then.” Twilight said, a serious look on her face as she narrowed her eyes. “I dare you.” Dash gulped at this. ‘Shit. my one weakness, I can’t back down from a challenge.’ Rainbow thought. “Fine!” She blurted, reaching out her hoof and placing it on Twilight's neck to pull her into a deep passionate kiss. Dash felt a surge of electricity go through her as she made out with her friend. This wasn’t supposed to happen, but she couldn’t help but enjoy the long drawn out kiss. Then without thinking Rainbow slowly wormed her tongue up against Twilight's teeth, which then opened up allowing the rainbow mare to enter.  Rainbow could taste the alcohol still lingering in Twilights mouth, but there was something else, a faint pleasant earthy taste. ‘Is that tea?’ she wondered, getting lost in pleasure of friends' taste, After what seemed like hours Twilight pulled away to breath and look into Dash’s eyes. “Do you want to take this upstairs?” she asked in a small quiet tone. At those words something inside Rainbow Dash broke. She picked up the purple mare and carried her up the stairs to her bedroom door, never letting their lips part as she did so. This time she was able to gain much more from Twilight's taste. There were faint notes of apple and honey, a rich smooth flavor that coated her mouth. It was chamomile, Twilight's favorite tea.  As they burst through the door Rainbow felt her hooves wandering, wrapping around Twilight and taking off her dress. At the same time she let Twilight lift off her jacket and pull off her pants. ‘Wait are we…?’ “Wait!” Rainbow called out pushing Twilight off her just out of hooves reach. “We can’t. You’re drunk, I’m confused, it’s just not a good time.” Twilight's eyes fell to look at the ground and away from Dash, A small sniffle escaping her. “I thought *sniff* I thought you wanted this?” tears started steaming down Twilight’s muzzle. “I do.” Dash said without thinking. “I do?” the realization washed over her and her eyes grew more serious. “Yes, I do. You’re a very special mare Twilight, but if we’re going to do this, I want it to be just as special as you. At the very least I want you to be able to remember it in the morning. ” Rainbow lifted her hoof to wipe away the tear that was slowly building in Twilight's eye.  “You… you really mean it?” Twilight asked, her eyes still wet with tears. “Yes, but I want to do it right. I want to take you out on a real date, I want to make you smile and laugh, I want to come back here…” Rainbow reached out, placing her hoof once again on the back of Twilight's neck. “Take you in my hooves…” Dash stepped forward so her muzzle was mere centimeters away from Twilight’s. “Pull you in close…” Dash leaned in so the two mares' lips were barely touching. “And make you mine.” Dash pulled Twilight forward into yet another deep kiss, this one was different though. This Time Dash made no effort to try and snake her tongue into Twilight’s mouth. This time she kissed Twilight gently but passionately, letting the purple mare take the lead in what she wanted. The kiss lasted only about half a minute before Dash pulled away, granting Twilight a gentle knowing smile. Dash turned to leave but was once again halted by Twilight. “Wait, even if nothing happens. Can you stay with me tonight? I don’t want to be alone right now, and I know having somepony I trust next to me would really help.” “Alright, But promise me this is just sleep.” Rainbow gazed down at the other mare, not really suspicious, but also not entirely comfortable with this arrangement. “I promise.” Twilight said, embracing Rainbow in a hug, a friendly hug, nothing more. Rainbow was both relieved and a little disappointed that it was just a friendly hug. “Now let's get to bed.” Twilight lifted the covers off the medium sized bed, just big enough for two ponies and climbed in. Rainbow followed, after placing a trash bucket on Twilight's side just in case. Rainbow climbed in the bed and stayed on her side until she heard Twilight’s breath even out and a faint snore coming from her side. For a moment Dash pondered getting up and sneaking out, but all those thoughts vanished as Twilight rolled over and wrapped her forelegs around Dash and gently snuggled up against the rainbow mare’s chest. Unable to resist, Rainbow Dash draped her forelegs over the sleeping mare and drifted off to sleep enjoying the warm embrace. *  *  * A gentle smile graces Rainbow lips at the fond memory. “Uh, Twilight.” Rainbow says, gently shaking the sleeping mare next to her. Twilight’s tired eyelids barely open as she lets out a small yawn and glances up at Dash “Rainbow?” she asks, her eyelids parting a bit more. “Hey, how are you feeling?” Rainbow asks, leaning in and placing a hoof on Twilight’s forehead to check for a fever. “I’m fine.” Twilight says, swatting Rainbows hoof away. “Hey uh, how much of what happened last night do you remember?” Rainbow asks cautiously. Twilight inclines her muzzle to meet Dash’s and plants a playful kiss on the mare's lips. “Does that answer your question?” “Loud and clear.” Rainbow says, pulling Twilight into a much deeper kiss, savoring everything about the perfect purple pony, her perfect purple pony.. “I love you.” Rainbow Dash says giving the object of her affection a dreamy eyed stare. “I loved you first.” Twilight says, making a fake pouty face before pulling Rainbow into another long deep kiss.
