> Sunset's Ectoplasmic Adventure: Story #1: Greetings from the Ghost Zone > by Dalek-Galvo > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Greetings from the Ghost Zone Part 1 of 4: Gathering Bairings > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset couldn't see or hear anything, all she remembered was entering a bar after being bullied by her peers accusing her of being Anon-A-Miss, and she couldn't remember anything past that. All she could feel was something slimey all around her. Suddenly Sunset's vision was starting to come back and when she opened her eyes, Sunset saw that she was surrounded by a dark green void. "Wha, where am I, what is this place," Sunset said to herself. Suddenly out of no-where, a green skinned creature with red glowing eyes charged straight her a gave off a loud scream. "Please, don't hurt me," Sunset said as she braced for its attack, but she saw that the creature phased through her body. Just as she was getting back on her feet she noticed that she was invisible, as soon as she was visible again, she then saw that her body was as normal as it was when she was alive, except for the fact that her eyes were now bright red and her skin was green. "What in the," Sunset said. "Why do I have red eyes, why is my skin green, WHAT IS GOING ON!" Sunset said, having a severe panic attack. Just then, a shadowy figure overheard Sunset's ranting and went to investigate. "Well, hello there pretty girl, where have you been all my afterlife," The shadow said. "Who are you and where am I?" Sunset said shakily. "The names Specter, Sweet-cheeks," Specter said. "And you are in your permanent new home. Welcome to The Ghost Zone." Prologue: Greetings from the Ghost Zone: It's a Ghastly Surprise "The Ghost Zone, what are you talking about," Sunset said in utter shock. "This has all got to be some kind of bad dream." "Oh trust me honey, this is no dream, and it's only as bad as you make it," Specter said. "How do you know that I'm dead right now," Sunset said in protest. "Because I'm the Ghost Zone's resident soul collector, or as you humans call it, The Grim Reaper," Specter said. "I know the causes of death for every soul that enters the Ghost Zone." "It all started when you drunkenly wobbled into your apartment room," Specter said. "In your drunken stupor you accidentally dropped a lit match onto the ground, the rest was a chain reaction." "So I burned to death," Sunset said. "Yep, that's the gist of it," Specter said. "In fact when you first came here, you were at first a soulless little green ball of Ectoplasm, so I've been keeping a watchful eye on you until you grew to the form you have right now." "So what happens now," Sunset asks. "What will I eat and where will I sleep?" "i will get to that if you will let me finish," Specter said. "Unlike Earth, The Ghost Zone is a shapeless void that is able to expand infinitely. The Ghost Zone does and does not exist in any feasible or non-feasible time era, Ranging from the beginning of time itself to the early 1850's to the modern day. "And that means," Sunset asked. "It means that no matter where or when your in the Ghost Zone, you will be everywhere and every-when because they all exist at once and not exist at the same time," Specter said. "I know this may all sound confusing, because it is. "There are two forms of life that exist in the Ghost Zone," Specter said. "For example, I am classified as a Native, or a being that was created within the Ghost zone," Specter said. "While you however, are known by many as a spirit, or the soul of a deceased human being that gets caught within the Ghost Zone's ecto-kinetic field." "Basically the living world and the Ghost-Zone are opposite anomalies of each other," Specter said. "Two sides, same coin." "Oh and one more thing, now that you are a spirit, your ecto-filled body will prevent any obstacles that could affect bodily functions, which means you cannot eat, sleep...or leave." "WHAT," Sunset shouted in utter shock. "So I'm stuck here forever, huh." "Not exactly," Specter said. "Thanks to my Mirror of Misfortune, I can allow you to see into the living world, just to see how your friends have been affected by your departure. As Sunset looked upon the Mirror of Misfortune, she saw that not much had changed, she saw that only Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity were mourning over Sunset's death. As Rainbow-Dash was too Arrogant and Apple-Jack was too prideful to accept that Sunset wasn't Anon-A-Miss. In fact , it was because this that Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Rarities friendship with Rainbow and Apple-Jack was severed. Rarity asked them what Princess Twilight would think about what happened, but it's what Apple-Jack said next that made Sunset's blood boil. "Hah, you think I care about what that Princess thinks," Apple-Jack said. "About her belief that Sunshit could be reformed. Well news-flash, she was more of an idiot than she actually realized. People like her can't be reformed, it's just not possible, my belief is this, once a villain, always a villain. Sunset Shimmer is no more, and there's no point in mourning someone who doesn't deserve mourning, all I can say is...Good-Bye and Good Riddance." This caused Sunset to start trembling in rage, this also caused her body to start changing as it was surrounded by green ecto-kinetic energy. Her eyes glowed a bright red while her hair turned into green flames. "Oh, I wish your apple trees would just ROT AND DIE!" Sunset roared. This had a strange chain reaction in the living world as it caused a toaster to launch itself off a table and smack Applejack in the back of her head. "Woah, woah, easy there Fireball, let's not blow things out of proportion," Spector said with a worried look on his face. Sunset then calmed herself down as flames on her hai dimmed a little, only to start crying from her utter hopelessness. "Oh, what did I do to deserve any of this," Sunset said, crying tears of lava. "Huh, my tears are made of lava, what is happening?" "Oh I forgot to say," Spector said. "While you are inside the Ghost Zone, you'll be continuously absorbing ecto-energy. The more Ecto-Energy you absorb, the stronger you get. So, I guess you're some kind of Fire-based Ghost." "So what happens now, am I just doomed to roam this empty void forever," Sunset said. "Will you stop interrupting me," Spector said with an irritated look on his face. "Anyway, as I was about to say, the ghost zone is not an "empty void," there are other ghosts that inhabit this world, and if you want to travel through the ghost zone without completely losing your sanity, I'll lend you a guide." Spector said as he snapped his fingers. Sunset then felt a cold chill flow through her ghost body, as she saw a object that appeared like a school titled Crystal Prep Academy, appeared right in front of her. "Wendigo, I need your assistance," Spector said. Suddenly, the school doors opened as a ghost who appeared to be a school girl, but who had antlers on her head and her blue skin was covered in ice, appeared with a groggy look on her face. "Yawn, Ok Spector, you better have a good reason as to why you interrupted my napping," Wendigo said with an irritated tone in her voice. "I need you to guide this new ghost through the zone, and introduce her to her new neighbors," Spector said. "Sure thi..." Before Wendigo could say anymore, she saw the lost soul Spector was talking about, and she was the most beautiful creature that she had ever seen. "Oh my, where have you been all my after-life," Wendigo said. "Sunset...you know, calling you Sunset all the time, is gonna give me a headache," Spector said. "So I'm gonna call either of these three names, The Deep-Disher, Flame Fright, or Fire-Brat, take your pick." "Hmm, Flame Fright sounds cool," Sunset said. "Either name works for me," Wendigo said in a lovey-dovey voice as she childishly giggled. "Flame Fright, this is Wendigo," Spector said. "Her former name was Twilight Sparkle or Sci-Twi for short, and her death was a tragic one. She was once a student of Crystal Prep where she fell madly in love with one of the school's jocks. That was until she found out that he did all of it to make his ex-girlfriend feel jealous, and so he broke up with her after leaving her alone at the fall formal." "Her soul hurt beyond repair by her would-be lover's betrayal, she later died in her dorm room, from a broken heart," Spector said sadly. "However in order to cover up her death, her wicked principal Abacus Cinch locked her body in the school freezer, however, two students named Indigo Zap and Lemon Zest, exposed Cinch for her crimes and the school was then forced to close its doors forever." "Many people mistake her saddened spirit for a creature from Native American folklore of the same name," Spector said. "Aww, let's forget about sad memories and that no-good heart-breaker, let's go meet my friends and all the other Ghosts in the Ghost Zone," Wendigo said. "SPIKE!" Suddenly, a large shadowy mass erupted from the school and turned into a humanoid shape, although with no legs. It then transformed into a car. "Take us to Indigo Zap, Lemon Zest, and Pinkie Pie," Wendigo said. Spike gave a thumbs up as he started driving to their respective part of the Ghost Zone. "Wait, Pinkie Pie is dead," Sunset thought to herself in horror. "What could've happened, oh this day is getting weirder and weirder." As they drove off, a shadowy figure was watching from afar, as it revealed itself to be none other then Vlade Plasmius, "Oh, it's gonna get much worse than that my dear, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!" (Will continue in Prologue: Greetings from the Ghost Zone Part 2 of 3: Meeting the Many Ghosts of the Ghost Zone). > Greetings from the Ghost Zone Part 2 of 4: Meeting the Many Ghosts of the Ghost Zone > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset was in the back seat with Wendigo while Spike was taking them to their designated part of the Ghost Zone when she felt something vibrate in her pocket. When Sunset got it out, she saw that it was some kind of Ghost-Zone Phone that was labeled as The Malevolent Messenger. "Oh, it looks like you got a message," Wendigo said, looking at the phone. "Hey, don't eavesdrop," Sunset said, getting the screen out of her line of sight. "It's impolite to eavesdrop." "Sunshine, in the Ghost Zone, there are no rules," Wendigo said as a briefcase appeared in her hand. When Sunset looked into the phone's screen, she saw Applejack walking back home, and when she got to the entrance door, there was a message written in Apple-Sauce that said, "Confess, Sinner." "Confess, for what? I did nothing wrong," Applejack said as she opened the door. Just as AppleJack got back inside, her oven started vibrating violently, then it started shooting hot apple pies at her at Mach 4 speed. Then knives started levitating and launching themselves at Applejack, but she missed all of them. "What in sweet nanny is going on?" Applejack shrieked. Then she heard a child-like voice say, "Eaaaaat meeeeeee." Applejack turned around and saw an apple sitting on a plate. "Eaaaaat meeeeeee," the ghostly voice said again. But as Applejack got closer, the apple then grew a grim face with green eyes, and then it grew arms and legs made of roots. "Eat me, eat me, EAAAT MEEEEEEE!!!" The apple said as it jumped on Applejack's face and started to knaw at her. Then AppleJack put the apple in a blender and watched as it was torn to shreds, with ectoplasm coming out instead of applesauce. Then more haunted apples appeared outside her home; all of them were laughing at her. "Why are you doingg this to me,, apples?" Applejack squealed in horror. "I helped grow you." "You cooked us,, Applejack; now we get to cook YOUUU," the Evil Apples chanted as they were clawing at the windows. Then Applejack ran up to Apple-Blooms room. "Apple-Bloom, we’ve got to get out of here. The apples, they're alive," Applejack said in fright. "What are you talking about,, Big Sis?" AppleBloom said,, shocked. "There's nothing wrong." "Nothing wrong...NOTHIN WRONG, OF COURSE THERE'S SOMETHIN WRONG," Applejack roared, causing Apple-Bloom to flinch. "Big Mac then came into the room. "Big Mac, help,, she's gone crazy," AppleBloom cried. Then the screen on Sunset’s phone faded to black. “What just happened?" Sunset asked Wendigo. “Well, as I have seen, it seems that you have put a curse upon Applejack,” Wendigo said. “What does that mean?" Sunset asked. “Well, a curse is afflicted upon anyone that you feel extreme rage towards,” Wendigo said. “And even better about all of this is that only Applejack can see the curse, so the rest of her family will think that she’s two seeds short of an apple pie.” “Oh, will it ever wear off?" Sunset asked. “Only when the target of the curse accepts its sins and pleads for forgiveness,” Wendigo said. “And judging what I see from Applejack, I doubt that will ever happen.” “Oh, I so hope it happens,” Sunset said with a face of annoyance. “So, how’s Rainbow-Dash? Is she as arrogant as ever in the living world?” “Oh, she’s here too,” Wendigo said. “But we’ll meet her later.” “Wait a flipping minute; Rainbow’s dead too,” Sunset shouted. “I will tell you when we get to her, but right now, we are about to cross the door to the realm that Pinkie Pie is in,” Wendigo said. "Oh, ok,” Sunset said as the door opened, and once they came through the portal, Sunset was in for a surprise. Sunset saw that this realm was full of candy, with an ocean made of chocolate. “Of course, Pinkie’s Realm would be made of candy,” Sunset said. Then Sunset saw a sign at the entrance of the realm that said, “No Apple’s Allowed.” “Why is that sign there?" Sunset asked. “Beats me,” Wendigo said. Suddenly, Sunset would see some kind of pirate ship made of candy. The candy ship had skeleton’s that were made out of various sweets. And out of all the Candy Ghost Pirates, Sunset recognized one of them most of all. “Is that pinkie pie?" Sunset asked. "It looks like it,” Wendigo said. “Well, let’s go down there and say hello.” As Wendigo ordered Spike to let them land on the candy ship, they were surrounded by candy ghost pirates. “Who goes there?" one of them said. “Who dares set foot on Captain Candy’s ship?!” “Oh, it’s just me,” Wendigo said. “And I brought a friend with me.” “We’re looking for Captain Candy; is she around?" Wendigo asked. “The Captain is in her quarters,” a skeleton with a peg-leg made of Graham Crackers said. “But I will go get her now.” As Sunset and Wendigo were waiting, Sunset noticed a spark coming from her phone. Thinking that it was going to explode, she dropped the phone. However, instead of it exploding, she saw a pulse of electricity exit the phone. “Yahoo,” the being of electricity said. “I love these new ghost powers.” As soon as this electricity ghost spoke, Sunset knew where that voice came from. "Rainbow-Dash,, is that you?" Sunset said. "Sunset,” the Electricity Ghost said as it began to take on a human form. “Wh-what are you doing here?" Sunset asked. “Oh, umm, it’s a really long story,” Rainbow-Dash said. “So, how did you get this way?" Sunset asked. “Ugg,” Rainbow grumbled. “It’s all Applejack's fault!” "What? Tell me what happened,” Sunset asked. “Well, it was after we found out that Scootalo and her friends were Anon-A-Miss,” Rainbow said. “After I found out, I sent Scootalo to juvenile detention immediately after giving her a lecture. Rarity did that too.” “Applejack, however, wouldn’t listen to reason,” Rainbow said. “She said that if AppleBloom was sent away, her family would be devastated. Then I said,, If AppleBloom and her friends didn’t do this Anon-A-Miss crap, none of this would be happening.” “Then she just started screaming and telling me to just keep quiet about the whole thing and to tell the officers that it was just Scootalo and Sweetie-Belle at fault,” Rainbow said. "What? I can’t believe AJ would throw you and Rarity under the bus like that,” Sunset screamed. “And Princess Twilight said she was the element of honesty; human Applejack doesn’t have an honest bone in her body.” “No, it’s because of Applejack and her stupid pride,” Rainbow said. “Anyways, I was at my house, taking a bath, and I don't know know how Applejack did it, but she had rigged a piece of string to the faucet. And when I turned it, a curling iron dropped into the water,, and I was electrocuted to death.” "She... did... what?" Sunset roared in fury, the flames in her hair intensifying. “Oh, just wait till I get my hands on her; I’m going to.” "Sunset,, stop; just calm down,” Rainbow said. “I also wanted to tell you that I’m sorry about all the horrible shit I said and did to you during that time.” “I admit, I was a complete asshole for pinning the blame on you, even though there was no proof that you did it,” Rainbow said. “Will you forgive me?” “Rainbow, even though what you did to me was inexcusable, I’m just glad that you knew what you did wrong,” Sunset said. “So, I will forgive you.” “Yeah, Applejack’s also the reason I’m like this,” Pinkie Pie said as she came out of the ship. “Applejack said that she needed to talk to me about something, and when I came to the cliffside where she wanted me to meet, she wanted to ask if I thought that Sunset was Anon-A-Miss.” “Well, what did you say to her?" Sunset asked. “I said that I never thought that you were Anon-A-Miss and that I just played along so no one would bully me,” Pinkie Pie said. “Then Applejack said, “Any friend of that traitor, Sunset, is not a friend of mine, and she pushed me off the cliff.” Sunset was trying her hardest to control her anger. How could Applejack do something so horrid to Rainbow-Dash and Pinkie Pie, especially Pinkie Pie? However, before Sunset could ponder any further, she heard a voice behind her: “BEWARE!” “Who said that?" Sunset said as she turned around, only to see a fat ghost levitating three boxes. “I AM THE BOX GHOST,” The Box Ghost said. “PREPARE FOR YOUR SPECIAL DELIVERY OF DOOM!” “Not this creep again,” Wendigo said in irritation. "Look, Crate Creep, you better buzz off now.” “I AM THE BOX GHOST,” The Box Ghost Wailed. “WILL YOU STOP THAT?" Wendigo roared. “Is he always like this?" Sunset asked. “Yes,” Wendigo, Rainbow, and Pinkie said in unison. “Wait a minute, Rainbow,, how did you know where we were?" Wendigo asked. “Well, another ghost told me,” Rainbow replied. "What ghost?" Wendigo asked. "Well, he was wearing a cape; I mean, he acted like one crazed Fruit-Loop," Rainbow Dash said. “Who, tell me the name—who, who, who,” Wendigo demanded. “I think his name was Vlad Plasmius,” Rainbow replied. "No, not him, anyone but him," Wendigo said with a face of fear. “OH NO, THE EVIL ONE, BEWARE,” the Box Ghost said as he ran away. “Who is Vlad Plasmius?" Sunset asked. However, Sunset was unaware of the looming ghost that was watching her from afar, plotting to use her to finally defeat the Ghost Boy, Danny Phantom.
