Rarity had been working on one of her latest dresses when a knock came at the front door of her Boutique. Curiosity had her trotting over to the front door. She summoned her unicorn magic and opened the front door. An earth pony mare stood on the other side of the door. Her mane was curled at the top, it had a mixture of reds and oranges. A set of soft green eyes shined in the sunshine. Her light brown coat was smooth and flawless. “Um…Hello dear, can I help you?” There was something different about her, Rarity couldn’t quite put her hoof on it. “I believe I’m to help you, Rarity.” Her voice was very soft, yet it was calming to the ears. Rarity didn’t find it odd that she knew her name. Lots of ponies did. “How so…um…miss?” “Rose Bloom.” The visitor replied and added. “I have a unique gift for you, and it’ll help you.” Rarity tilted her head, behind her on the table, a unique rose appeared by magic, hues of sapphire, purple, and green swirled in the rose. It had a deep green stem and leaves on it. “Such a lovely name.” Rarity commented, her nose picked up on a unique scent. Turning around she spotted the rose. She turned back to the doorway and found that Rose Bloom was gone. Glancing outside she couldn’t find any trace of her. “Strange, she wasn’t a unicorn. So…how’d she disappear like that?” Truly something unique about her. Her sapphire eyes studied the unique rose. “So, is this the gift? How can a rose help me?” Rarity asked using her magic to levitate the rose in front of her. “It truly is a beautiful rose.” She noticed the unique colors. “My sapphire eyes and dark purple mane.” She could see a lighter purple and dark green mixed into the petals. “I bet Spike will want to see this.” He does like flowers, after all, the dear still likes to bring them to me. As he’s done for years. I’ve always enjoyed it and seeing how he’s grown is always a treat. Rarity found herself smiling at the memory. “It’s so odd, I pick up this rose and I’m thinking about Spike.” I’m to help you, Rarity. She heard Rose Bloom’s voice echo in her mind. “Oh do be serious now. How can she help me-” Rarity paused when a second knock came at the front door. Well this is getting strange now. I bet I know who this one is, first I thought it was Spike earlier. Instead of waiting on the door to be opened, whoever was on the outside opened the door. “Hey, Rarity?” She instantly knew that voice, she felt her heart skip a beat. She was still gazing into the rose, becoming lost in the colors. “My dear Spikey-Wikey, I was just thinking about you-” She paused and cleared her throat and heard the gasp from Spike. “I…had a feeling to just come over. I can’t explain it.” I didn’t hear any hesitation in her voice. Why’d I just say that without thinking? She glanced at the rose still held in her magical aura, she felt a smile curve her lips. Letting the rose land back on the table she turned to Spike. “I don’t know what came over me, dear.” Rarity said feeling her cheeks turning a little red. “I’ve had a strange morning, to say the least.” “I’ll say, I get pulled out of sleep, and without a second thought I come over here,” Spike explained looking at the rose she’d put down on the table he walked over to it. “I couldn’t resist. I just knew I had to see you. Since when could I resist seeing you.” He picked up the rose and turned to her. “So, how’d you get this?” “That’s where my morning turned strange.” Rarity explained to Spike about meeting Rose Bloom and how this rose had shown up. Spike looked at the rose. “This is odd, it has my purple skin tone and green scales mixed in with your eyes and mane.” He held the rose up. Rarity grinned at that. “I noticed that too, it’s when I started to think about you.” She noticed how Spike’s eyes had turned a deeper shade of emerald. “Had I have found this rose, you’d be the first one I would have thought to give it to. Yet…” His voice trailed off. “Yet, what Spikey?” Rarity asked trotting up to him and the unique rose “A rose given is meant to mean something. Sure it can be a gift like this one was given to you. Yet…” He twirled the rose in his claw and gazed at the colors. “How many must be given from the heart for another’s heart to open up?” Rarity noticed the look in his eyes and had a feeling she’d had the same look when she’d become lost in the colors. What he said Rarity realized came without any hesitation. The same thing happened to me... Spike blinked and looked at Rarity. “I’ve um…wanted to say that…” His voice trailed off. Rarity opened up while she was staring at the rose… Then he remembered what Rarity said about Rose Bloom. Something made him glance over at the calendar on the wall and noticed what today was. Rarity stood facing him and reached out her hoof to touch the rose in Spike’s claw. The rose started to sparkle like twinkling stars at night in the heavens above. Spike looked at Rarity and said. “We’re of different worlds.” “Like different hearts.” Rarity replied with a smile. “Proving love, any love is always possible.” The rose held between them lifted from them and while floating above them it split into two identical roses. Each full rose floated down for one of them to hold. “Two roses joined as one.” Rarity said. “Like two hearts can be joined as one,” Spike added.
