Almost a decade passed since our heroes defeated the mighty Grogar. Rarity became a fashion icon, both making dresses for celebrities while being a mannequin. Applejack expanded her farm, once she inherited it, and with the help of Filthy Rich, to become the country’s main apple supplier, earning millions. Fluttershy created her own animal protection foundation and gained a huge amount of notoriety in the animal activism community, effectively becoming a prime figure of animal protection worldwide. Rainbow Dash became a pro athlete, earning a name for herself in Olympic competitions, various sports tournaments and the FIFA. Twilight Sparkle, with her high I.Q and technological skills, was recruited by the CIA, and quickly climb up the ranks, becoming one of the organisation’s best agent, her name? Agent Twilight. Pinkie Pie, realizing the talent she had to make amazing cakes, was sent an invitation to join The Cake and Cupcakes Artisans Association, a group of elite bakers, the best in the world. Sunset, her, returned to Equestria with her mother, working hard to restore her reputation. She also helped Twilight by becoming a suppleant teacher at the School of Friendship and at Canterlot’s magic kindergaten. As for Moonlight’s friends, Tirek finished his prison sentence, even being released early for good behavior, he then tried to make amend with his family, and slowly, was able to bond with them. Sombra followed Rarity’s path to fame, becoming a famous movie actor. Rumors says that him and Rarity were dating, but no one was able to prove this claim...yet. Stygian was recruited by the NASA, becoming a rocket engineer. Chrysalis started a carrier in porn, quickly raising to fame, until the Secret Services proposed her to work as a spy, because of her shapeshifting powers. She accepted on the condition to be allowed a personal boytoy for herself. The Dazzlings became the world’s most famous music icons, surpassing the likes of Songbird Serenade, Past Crush and Countess Coloratura. Abacus changed her ways gradually, going from a cold-hearted bitch to a down to earth, caring individual.

“Okay, said Sunlight. Enough talk about the others. It’s my turn! And i’m going to tell what i’ve done those 10 last years...
The first weeks after Grogar’s defeat were relaxing, leaving me time to think about what i was going to do with my life. I envisaged two options: Get married and live a peaceful life with kids and a wife, or looking for more adventures, which would mean renouncing to a love life. But i took too much time thinking about it, that my potential love interest, such as Trixie, Wallflower Blush and Gloriosa, ended up being taken by others. Trixie dated Flash, Wallflower started dating Sandalwood and Gloriosa was dating Filthy Rich. I won’t lie, i was a bit heartbroken, but i quickly got over it.”

Sunlight took a pause.

“This is during that short period of self-loathing and sadness, he said. I started watching a futuristic-themed anime, where the main character was a man whose consciousness and memories were the only thing that survived a fatal accident, woke up 3000 years in the future, as a hyper realistic, cutting-edge android. And then, an idea that would give me the second wind i needed in my life, came to my mind. I asked Discord if it was possible for me to become an cutting-edge, futuristic android. So he sent my into the distant future of an alternate Universe, where he presented me to a technological super-genius scientist. I asked him if he could make me a badass, cutting-edge, unstoppable, synthetic android while keeping my memories and magic intact. The scientist agreed on the condition to keep my Alicorn body and Alicorn magic to him for science. He told me that the gains would be worth the sacrifice. So, during the months that followed, i helped him build my new body, it was long and difficult to pull off, but it turned out to be a success. My memories were transfered into a cutting edge memory card. It felt weird when i first used my new body. And let me tell you, it was worth leaving my organic body and alicorn magic behind. I’ll show you what abilities i got as the story progresses...”

“So, your finally done? Asked Moonlight. It’s my turn, now! But i won’t be as elaborate in my explanation as this doofus. To make it simple, i discovered that being an undead amplified my necromantic and dark powers. So, what did i do? I turned myself into an Undead, a Zombie, to be more precise. I know, i don’t look like a Zombie, and that’s because i only changed things on the inside. My brain, bones and muscles are still intact, but my vital organs are not fonctional. That include the heart, stomach, intestins, liver, lungs, pancreas, testicles and the penis. As a zombie, i don’t need to breathe, eat, drink, sleep, or rest. Plus having unlimited stamina and superhuman strenght, pain immunity and immortality. Even if i’m cut to pieces, i’ll still be alive and able to regenerate. Not bad, uh?”

“So, said Discord, now that you finished the expositions, can we get back to the story? Great!!”

Sunlight and Moonlight were at Discord’s house, waiting impatiently.

“What’s taking her so long!!?” asked Moonlight.

“Be patient, said Discord. She should be here as soon as she’s done with her work”

“It’s been years since i’ve gotten this synthetic, cutting-edge body, said Sunlight, and i’m still not used to using it for mondaine tasks.”

A few minutes later, Sunset Shimmer arrived. Immediately after entering, she hugged Sunlight for a moment. She was trying to hug Moonlight after, but he evaded her attemps.

“Do not hug me, said Moonlight. So, now that the 3 of us are there, what did you wanted to tell us, Discord?”

“Are you familiar with the concept of Multiverse?” he asked.

“Yes!!” answered Sunset.

“Who do you think i am?” answered Moonlight.

“I’m your friend, answered Sunlight. Of course i’m familiar with the Multiverse.”

“What i’m proposing is to send you on a big, epic adventure, said Discord. An adventure across the multiverse!! As you might know, there is an infinite number of parallel universes, some are basically the same as our universe, where Equestria is at peace. Some others, however, are not so lucky, being controlled by evil forces. In some of them, Sombra’s ruling supreme, in others, Chrysalis is ruling supreme. Basically, in the multiverse, at least one universe is being ruled by one of the villains Twilight faced, same goes for your world, Sunset. It being basically an alternate universe where ponies are humans. Each parallel Equestria have it’s alternate human dimension. And in some of them, things didn’t went as well. So, i’m going to send you eradicate the villain influences in those universes.”

“So, what you’re saying, said Sunlight. Is that you’re going to send us in universes that were conquered by villains, and expect us to defeat them, restauring peace at last?”

“That’s right!” said Discord.

“I’m fucking in!” said Sunlight.

“Me too, said Moonlight. Sounds fun”

“I guess i have no choice, said Sunset. You two won’t do well without me around to boss you...So i’m in!! But don’t expect me to mary-sue my way out of problems. I nerfed my magic powers drastically to be able to live a normal life, with mental locks.  So, don’t rely on me for everything.”

“It would be boring indeed, said Moonlight. If you could just use your full power to erase our problems from existence. Did i told you i’m an Undead, now? Or in your language, a Zombie?”

“Really? Said Sunset. You don’t look like a Zombie, well, physically talking”

“Use your mind-reading powers, said Moonlight. And you’ll understand”

She touched his arm and felt no activity in his body. No heartbeat, no body heat, nothing.

“Why turning yourself into a Zombie?” asked Sunset.

“It make my necromantic magic stronger, answered Moonlight. And i’m basically immortal!! I’m a god of death!!”

“And i’m an Android, said Sunlight. An ass-kicking, cutting-edge, extremely powerful fighting machine. All you see is synthetic, my whole body is made of cutting-edge futuristic robotic technology. It’s basically indestructible!! If it’s damaged, it’ll repair itself. The only thing i kept are my memories”

“What happen to your body, then?” asked Sunset.

“I left it as a gift to Science, answered Sunlight, grinning. As well as my alicorn magic.”

“It’s true that i feel no magic coming from you, said Sunset. So what’s powering you?”

“An Energy core, said Sunlight. Well, infused with the power of the Elements. It is able to harness the power of the 9 elements inside. I was kinda pissed to have lost my elemental bending, so i figured out a way to get it back!”

“Your unbelievable, said Sunset. Wait, does that mean your genitals are also...?”

“Yeah, about that, said Sunlight. I have nothing down there, right now. However, the scientist that made the body installed an adjustable artificial cock. I don’t know why, though...”

“And without blood flooding in my body, said Moonlight. I can’t get an erection. No heartbeat, no blood. But this is something my dark magic can solve easily.”

Sunset knocked both of them down, embarrassed and pissed.

“Enough talk about your penises, she said. By the way, are you still an Alicorn, Sunlight?”

“Physically, yes, he answered. Magically, not anymore. This body doesn’t run out on magic, nor depends on it. My Energy Core is not even magic, but a very advanced alien technology that generate elemental energy from atoms. That energy can be in the form of heat, electricity, water, cold, air, light, darkness, sand and so on. The source of the energy that power my body, however, is a secret that the creator don’t want me to tell.”

“So, which one of you two want to go first, asked Discord. I’ll only allow Sunset and one of you to partake on those adventures. So who would it be?”

“I refuse to fight a familiar face, asked Moonlight. Even if that Sombra is evil, i can’t bring myself to fight him.”

“So, i guess i’ll be going, then, said Sunlight. I’ll show what this new body of mine can do...”

Discord yawned and threw Sunset and Sunlight into a portal. They both landed face first in the snow. Sunlight got up and saw he was wearing different clothes. He was looking like an fantasy hero, with the cape and long tunic.

“Oh yeah, totally escaped my mind, said Sunlight, looking at the Fourth Wall. We’re anthros in this story, we have human traits, but still look like ponies. But you’re all probably aware of what anthro means and is. You probably saw anthro fanart and Anthro NSFW somewhere on the Internet.”

“What are you talking about? Asked Sunset. And who are you talking to?”

“Nevermind, answered Sunlight. You wouldn’t understand...”

The duo heard loud war screams and saw flashes of magic beams not far from their location. They rushed to see what it was all about. Sunset recognized Canterlot when she arrived. Sunlight noticed Twilight Sparkle having a dual against Celestia, with Luna unconscious nearby. Suddenly, Twilight took the upper hand and knocked Celestia to the ground. She stepped on her to pin her down, her sword pointing at her heart.

“Please, Twilight, don’t do that, said Celestia. I know you’re still there...”

“But i’m me!! She said. This is the true me!! King Sombra opened my eyes!! And with you and your pesky sister dead, his reign will be supreme!!”

Sunlight teleported between them, blocking Twilight’s sword with his bare hands. A breeze made his cape flowing in the wind, giving Sunlight an even more noble look.

“What? She asked. Who are you?! Where did you came from?!”

Sunlight snapped Twilight’s sword in half with a movement of his palms. This one took a few steps back.

“He broke my sword bare-handed? She thought. Impossible!! Who’s that guy? Wait...A pair of wings, a horn...He’s an Alicorn!! That explain why he broke my sword in half with his two hands.”

“You better retreat, said Sunlight. I’m a nice guy, so i’ll leave you a chance to do so.”

“Well, i’m rather low on magic and energy after fighting those two, said Twilight. So i’ll gladly accept your offer...I’ll take my leave, for now. Retreat, everypony!!”

She disappeared, along with the soldiers. Celestia got up and went to see the injured troops. She used her magic to heal them a little, then went to heal her sister. She looked at the duo with curious eyes. She didn’t give much attention to Sunlight, but when she saw Sunset Shimmer, her mood changed.

“Hi!! Said Sunset to the Princess. Nice to meet you! Princess! I’m Sunset Shimmer, but you probably already know that!!”

“Sunset...Shimmer? Asked Celestia. That’s impossible...I banned you from this world years ago, and the mirror that could have let you return was destroyed...So how?”

“I’m not the Sunset from this world, she answered. I actually learned from my mistakes and turned a better person, helping people whenever i can.”

“I believe you, said Celestia. Your eyes don’t lie...”

“Okay, Can tell me why Twilight Sparkle tried to kill you? asked Sunlight. She’s supposed to be your student, right? And the Element of Magic...So why did she do it?”

“Well, that’s a long story, answered Celestia. I’ll explain it to you on the way back...”
> Chapter 2: Bring down the Evil King, and save Equestria!!

Twilight was back to Sombra’s castle. She kneeled before him, looking ashamed.

“I must assume you killed the two sisters like i ordered you to do, asked Sombra, with a cold stare. But seeing the look on your face, you weren’t able to. What’s your excuse!!”

“The both of them were at my mercy, answered Twilight. My sword was about to pierce Celestia’s heart...But then, somepony interfered. It was a stallion, and he grabbed, then snapped my sword in half with his bare hands, like it was made of glass. I was low on energy and magic, so i retreated.”

“That’s impossible!! Said Sombra. That sword was made by me personally, with my strongest crystals and spells. And he snapped it in half...Bare handed?!”

Twilight showed her the broken sword.

“I can repair it no problem, he said. In fact, i have another mission for you, something you should handle well...”

Twilight smiled devilishly. Meanwhile, in the throne room, Sunlight, Sunset, Celestia and Luna were sitting around a table. Earlier, Celestia told Sunset and Sunlight that Twilight was captured by Sombra, and brainwashed. With her, the Elements of Harmony couldn’t be used to defeat him. As for the Elements themselves, she hid them in the Everfree forest, where the Tree of Harmony was located, Since they weren’t safe in the castle nor ponyville anymore.

“Let’s get this meeting started! Said Celestia. Sunlight, you begin!”

“Let it be clear, said Sunlight. I’m not from this universe...In fact, where i came from, Sombra has been defeated, twice, as i can remember.”

“Really?! Said Celestia. What happened exactly?!”

“Well, said Sunlight. From the diary of our universe’s Twilight, she passed the crystal heart to Spike, who thanks to Cadance, was able to put it back to it’s place, destroying Sombra”

“I see, said Celestia. Your Twilight acted wisely, unlike mine...She refused to let go of the Crystal Heart. And it allowed Sombra to capture her, along with the Heart itself.”

“What about the rest? Asked Sunset. You know, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity and Rainbow Dash?”

The doors opened violently and Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie passed through.

“You’re late!!” said Luna.

“So, like i said, what about the 3 others?” asked Sunset.

“Applejack’s at Sweet Apples Acre, answered Rainbow Dash. Feeding the troops is a lot of work. Fluttershy and Rarity work both as Nurses. They are also keeping the soldiers spirit up. Me and Pinkie Pie fight on the battlefield.”

“Still, said Celestia. Without Twilight, the Elements of Harmony can’t be used. There is no one else that can use the Element of Magic.”

“Actually, there is somepony who can use it, said Sunlight. She’s right next to me...”

They all looked at Sunset Shimmer. This one looked away.

“Back in our universe, said Sunlight, she was able to use the Element of Magic and connect with it. She’ll be the replacement for Twilight Sparkle...”

“So, she is really compatible with it after all, said Celestia. I knew i was not mistaken by choosing her, Despite her lack of empathy and her selfish heart”

“Unironically, said Sunset, Twilight Sparkle was the one that changed me for the best...”

“I’m not surprised, said Celestia. It’s Twilight we’re talking off!”

Celestia summoned Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity in the room. She explained them the situation quickly.

“For real? Asked Rarity. Can we really put an end to the reign of King Sombra? Without Twilight?”

“Yes, said Sunset. We can, me and you, girls, will go in the Everfree Forest and find the Elements of Harmony. That will be a long and dangerous expedition, but we can pull it off.”

“We will also need to keep Sombra occupied, said Luna. Cause some trouble in his territory...But our troops are injured and i have to heal them, As for my sister, she’s still too weak to fight him and his Elite Trio, the Shadow Trinity”

“I’ve got this one in the bag, said Sunlight. I imagine Twilight is one of his Shadow Trinity. Who are the two others?”

“Shining Armor and Princess Cadence, answered Luna. To get to Sombra, you’ll have to defeat them first. Their teamwork is undeniably impressive. Shining specialize in defensive spells, while Cadence wear down the target with her love magic. Twilight is a magic powerhouse, both skilled in offensive and defensive magic. Those are the opponents you’ll have to face before reaching the King himself. Can you really handle it, brave warrior?”

“Sunlight’s going to be fine, said Sunset. He’s on par with Twilight, and far superior to both Cadence and Shining Armor in term of power and skills. And i’m talking about Alicorn Twilight...”

“So, she became an Alicorn in your universe?” said Celestia.

“She even succeeded to you, said Sunlight. After bringing together all the races in Equestria.”

“I’m glad to hear it, said Celestia. I hope my Twilight can do the same, eventually!”

“Well, i’m out!! Said Sunlight. I’m heading for the Crystal Empire!!”

Sunlight jumped of the window. The others were horrified, until he reappeared, standing in the air. Thrusters on his back under his feet were the reason.

“I’m an android, by the way” he said, before heading for the Crystal Empire.

“Let’s get preparted, girls, said Sunset. We’re leaving as soon as you’re all ready.”

“We’re ready, said Rainbow Dash. It’s payback time!!”

“It’s time to get our lands back!!” said Rarity

“It’s time to get our friend back!!!” shouted Pinkie Pie.

“Let’s do this, said Fluttershy. For our land”

“Our families!! Said Applejack. For Twilight...”

“FOR TWILIGHT!!” They all shouted together.

“Then it’s settled, said Sunset. Let’s do this, today, were freeing Equestria from it’s evil King!!!”

“I’ve lost all hope, said Celestia to her sister. All hope to get my student back...But then fate sent them to help us save our kingdom...”

“You think they will succeed? Asked Luna. That Sunlight seem strong, but can he really deal with Shining Armor, Cadance, Twilight Sparkle and King Sombra, all at once?”

“I put my faith in him and her, said Celestia. I know they will succeed, i just know!! Have faith in them to, sister!”

Sunlight was headed straight for the Crystal Empire, flying at sonic speed in the sky. Sunset and the others were heading for the Everfree forest using a hot balloon. A few hours later, Sunlight arrived at the Crystal Empire. He turned himself invisible to land safely and approach the entrance.

“Once i cross that portal, thought Sunlight. Sombra will know i’m here and everypony will be heading straight for me. I’ll make a run for it, and punch everyone getting in the way. Okay, let’s do this!!”

Sunlight crossed the gates and immediately, Sombra-fied soldiers headed straight for him. Sunlight punched them out of his way, while graciously dodging incoming horn blasts. Two minutes later, all the soldiers were down, unconscious.

“Apologies” he said.

He rushed to the entrance of the castle.

“Who does he think he is!!? Shouted Sombra. Breaking in my base like that, taking out of commission my troops like they were training dummies. Commander Shining!! Stop him!!”

“Yes, my King” said Shining Armor.

“As for you, Commander Cadence! Said Sombra. Go assist him!! Take him out!!”

“As you wish, my King!! Said Cadence. The intruder shall be dealt with!!”

The two headed for the lower part of the castle, to welcome Sunlight.

“Do you want me to assist them? Asked Twilight. I doubt they can defeat him...”

“No, Supreme Commander Sparkle, said Sombra. You have your own mission, so head for the Everfree Forest, where the Elements of Harmony are sealed. And destroy anyone who tries to enter the cave. I have a bad feeling about the girl that was with this fool earlier.”

Twilight left the castle, spreading her Shadow wings majestically. Sunlight arrived inside the castle, and was welcomed by Shining Armor and Cadence.

“Your path ends here!! Said Cadence. You won’t get past us, hero!!”

“No one can beat our teamwork! Said Shining Armor. You’ll soon see why.”

Shining rushed at Sunlight, a magic shield and a magic sword in his hands. The hero punched the shield violently with his fist, fissuring it and pushing Shining back. Cadance fired 3 magic love arrows at Sunlight, who grabbed, then redirected them back at her. The couple didn’t stop and continued attacking Sunlight, who kept on parrying, dodging or blocking incoming attacks.

“Well played, said Sunlight. Getting me on the defensive is something few people can do. But stalling me ain’t gonna give the win there. How long can you keep attacking me before running out of energy, because i can do this all day!”

“Don’t underestimate us, said Shining. You’re the one who’s going to run out of magic first!”

“Sorry, not happening” said Sunlight.

Meanwhile, the girls were making their way inside Everfree, lead by Sunset Shimmer. With her psychic abilities, she was able to guide the group safely through the deadly forest. Eventually, half an hour later, they were almost arrived at the cave. Sunset felt an omnious presence near the entrance of the cave.

“Someone is waiting for us there, said Sunset. I bet Sombra must have sent one of his generals guard the entrance of the cave. And the psychic signature is the same i picked earlier on, the one of Twilight Sparkle...”

“Twilight? Asked Rainbow Dash. Our Twilight? Oh great, i don’t want to fight a friend...”

Sunset walked down the stairs leading to the entrance of the cave. She saw Twilight waiting for them down there, with a smug smile.

”So, i was right, she thought. Sombra knew what we were up to, and he sent Twilight to stop me. And that’s exactly what will cause his downfall...Because i have a plan”

The girls followed Sunset down the stair, crushed by overwhelming dread. She arrived face to face with Twilight and took a battle stance.

“It was about time, said Twilight. I was starting to get bored, waiting for you to arrive. And you brought along my old friends...So i can destroy them and make sure my King’s reing last forever!!”

”Nothing will get through her, said Sunset to the girls, by telepathy. That evil bastard totally rewrote her memories, so don’t waste your time talking her out of it. There is only one way to get your friend back, and it’s to have her reconnect with the Element of Magic. But she won’t go down without a fight, i’m handling this, girl, you get the Elements.”

Sunset lauched Twilight away with a telekinetic wave, starting the hostilities. Back at Sombra’s castle, Sunlight was still facing the duo of lovers. When he received a telepathic signal from Sunset, he stopped playing around. He rushed at Shining at lightspeed, punching him so hard and so fast in the guts that the Prince lost consciousness.

“Shining!! Said Cadence, You will pay, you jerk!! Take Th...”

Cadence got the same treatment that her husband.

“I hope you can forgive me, said Sunlight, without any emotions. I promise to put an end to Sombra’s reign and free your kingdom. Now lay down, Princess...”

“You better beat him” said Cadence, before losing consciousness at her turn.

With the two out of commission, Sunlight headed for the throne room, where he found King Sombra, accompanied of dozen of Umbrums.

“For a moment, i really thought those two could beat you!! He said. But turns out you were playing with them...How petty and cruel of you!”

“Where is your third general? Asked Sunlight. You know, Twilight Sparke?”

“Oh, she’s not here! Answered Sombra. At the moment we speak, she must be fighting that red and yellow haired girl.”

“So, you knew, said Sunlight. Oh well, i’m still gonna beat your ass anyway and then deal with Twilight Sparkle after, should not take me more than 3 minutes to bring you down.”

“You...Cocky...Bastard!!! He shouted. Umbrums, kill him!!”

The Umbrums looked at each other and ran away.

“They’re smart, said Sunlight. They know they won’t stand a chance against me”

“I’ll deal with you myself, then!! Said Sombra. With this!!!”

He merged with the Crystal Heart that he was keeping under control nearby. A diabolical aura of extreme intensity came out from Sombra’s body. On his torso, a smaller version of the Crystal Heart was glowing. Wings appeared on his back, made of pure magic energy. His sword was way more terrifying, as well as his armor. He laughed devilishly and looked at Sunlight with a grin. Sombra rushed at Sunlight and grabbed him by the neck to then smash him against the floor. Sunlight smiled, not even injured. His right arm turned into a cannon and he fired a concentrated magic beam of light that blew the tyrant back.

“What are you!!? Asked Sombra. Some kind of machine?”

“I’m an android actually” answered Sunlight.

He looked at the Fourth Wall.

“Oh yeah, one more thing, said Sunlight. Depending if the world i’m in has magic or not, my attacks will gain different properties. In a world full of magic, my attacks become magic-based. In a world with no magic, my attacks become energy-based.”

Sombra made an horizontal swing with his longsword. Sunlight immediately laid himself on the floor and saw the section behind him sliced in half. Sombra did more swings with his magic sword, that Sunlight was trying to dodge. He turned his arms into magic infused Light blades and neutralized the projectiles. Back at Everfree, Sunset and Twilight were duking it out, and the former was having the edge over the latter.

“Twilight is actually losing!! Said Rarity. I can’t believe it!!”

Sunset was able to pin Twilight to the ground with her psychic power. Both were exhausted from the fight, one physically and the other, mentally. It was a short, but extremely intense fight, that Sunset won.

“Get the Elements girl!! Said Sunset. I’ve got her immobilized!!”

The group entered the cave and arrived in front of the tree of Harmony. The Tree recognized their magic aura and opened her 6 slots, with the Elements inside. The crystals of Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Rarity merged with their necklaces.

“It’s useless!! Said Twilight. Without me, those are vulgar gems!!”

Sunset pulled the Element of Magic toward her and this one resonated with her.

“Impossible!! Said Twilight. I’m the only one who can use it!! How can you wield it!! How?!!”

“It’s actually thanks to you, Twilight Sparkle, said Sunset. Now, it’s time for you to remember who you really are!!”

She combined her psychic magic to the Element of Harmony to erase her false memories and replace them with her original ones.

“I remember who i am!! She said. I’m Twilight Sparkle...I’m the Princess of Friendship!!”

The Element of Magic turned into a tiara and installed itself on Twilight’s head. Sunset released her from her magic and the other girls went to hug Twilight.

“It’s good to have you back, girls, said Twilight, crying of joy. Thank you, You...You saved me...”

“Now, it’s time we finish this, said Applejack. Let’s defeat the King!!”
> Chapter 3: The Fall of a King

Sunlight had opted for a stalling strategy against Sombra, being unable to deal significant damages to the King, from fear of shattering the Crystal Heart.

“Even with the power of the Crystal Heart, thought Sombra. I didn’t injured him at all!! Is that the power of an Android?!”

”I could easily take him out, thought Sunlight. But i can’t risk to destroy the Crystal Heart doing so. Still, those attacks of his definitively pack a punch.”

“I’d prefer not using that attack, said Sombra. But you’re forcing my hand...”

Sombra started charging a devastating attack. He formed above him a gigantic ball of dark magic.

“Try to dodge this, Hero!! Said Sombra. This attack have enough power to destroy all of Equestria!!”

Sombra released his attack. Sunlight charged magic energy in his palms and stopped the projectile clean. Sombra put even more energy into it. Sunlight was starting to struggle but then.

”Dark Magic Nullification!!” said Moonlight.

Suddenly, the dark magic bomb was dispelled. Sombra was horrified.

“I swear, said Moonlight. You can’t do anything on your own, can you?”

“Who are you!!?” asked Sombra.

“Death, he answered with a sadistic smile. I’m coming for your soul”

Sombra started shaking.

“I’m kidding!! He said. I’m a Zombie Alicorn, who specialize in Dark Magic.”

“An Alicorn android and an Alicorn Zombie? Thought Sombra. It can’t become weirder than that!!”

A few moments later, her and the Mane 6 arrived in the throne room. When Sombra saw Twilight wearing the Element of Magic, he lost his cool and started trembling.

“No way!! He yelled. No!! It’s impossible!!”

Sunset joined Sunlight and Moonlight.

“Moonlight? Asked Sunset. What are you doing there?”

“Oh, just saving his butt, answered Moonlight. And a good portion of the world. That bastard king tried to wipe the empire off the surface of the globe, so i just stepped in.”

“It’s over for you, Sombra!! Said Twilight. Your reign of terror ends today!! You brainwashed me, turned me against my friends!! But Sunset Shimmer here risked her life to bring me back!! Okay girls, let’s blast him!!”

“Wait!! Said Sombra. I fused with the Crystal Heart!! If you destroy me, you’ll destroy the Heart too!! All you’ll doom the Crystal Empire forever!!”

The Heart was suddenly dissociated from his body. Cadence and Shining Armor, who Twilight and Sunset freed from his control, were now having the Crystal Heart in their possession

“What Crystal Heart? Asked Shining Armor. This one, you mean? Oh yeah, we’re taking it back!”

“Blast him now, girls! Said Cadence. He’s done for!!”

“NOOOOOO!!!” Yelled Sombra, as a Rainbow Laser turned him to dust.

Once Sombra was destroyed, the girls used the magic of Friendship to destroy every remaining trace of Sombra’s magic all over Equestria, such as freeing the guards from his mind control and dispelling the black crystals on the horns of those affected. After everything Sombra had corrupted was back to normal, the group headed back outside the castle, where the Crystal Ponies cheered at Twilight and her friends. Sunlight, Moonlight and Sunset looked at each other, happy and proud. Later, the mane 6 and the siblings were inside Canterlot’s castle, in the throne room. Celestia hugged Twilight, crying of joy. Once she had wiped her tears, she looked at the two heroes.

“I’m so grateful to you two, she said. You saved us...You saved Equestria!! You’ll be forever remembered in history!! I can’t think of anything to reward you!!”

“Hum, i think i know just the thing” said Sunlight.

He whispered something in the ears of Celestia. She was shocked.

“Are you sure?” she asked.

“It worked in mine, answered Sunlight. I’m sure it will work for yours as well. Fluttershy is your best asset to handle him. And if he evers ends up betraying Equestria later on, leave him a second chance.”

“Very well, said Celestia. I shall respect your request”

Sunset then whispered something to her ears, and handed a letter.

“Hmm, said Celestia. That’s an odd request, but sure, i’ll make sure it’s done...Now, let’s celebrate this with a feast!!”

Everypony had a great time celebrating their victory. Suddenly, Moonlight, Sunset and Sunlight were fading away.

“It’s time for us to go, said Sunset. And take care of the Sunset Shimmer of this world, Twilight. Show her the way of Friendship!!”

“Build a statue of me, while you’re at it, said Sunlight. A big one!!”

They completely faded away and reappeared in Discord’s house.

“Amazing job!! Said Discord. That was some clean, effective work!!”

“Yeah, we know, said Sunlight with a sassy smile. So, what’s next?”

“Don’t you want to rest a little? Asked Discord. Before saving another universe?”

“I don’t need to rest” answered Sunlight.

“Next universe we visit, said Moonlight. You let me handle the problem and save the world.”

“Fine by me, said Sunlight. What about you, Sis? Do you need a break?”

“I’m fine, she said. I don’t need to rest, so let’s just pass to the next mission...”

Discord showed a live feed from another Equestria. One where Nightmare Moon was ruling supreme all over Equestria. Moonlight smiled of joy and excitation.

“I feel a bit conflicted, said Moonlight. But whatever, i’ll save this world! Let’s do this, Discord!”

He balanced the Moonlight and Sunset in a portal and closed it afterward. Moonlight and Sunset landed face first in the dirt. Moonlight got up and looked in the sky. Effectively, it was night.

“Yeah, this darkness have definitively Nightmare Moon’s vibe to it, said Sunset. So, what’s the plan?”

“Were going to infiltrate Nightmare Moon’s ranks, answered Moonlight. While i’m distracting Nightmare Moon and her minions, you’ll use mind-reading on her servants and soldiers, to collect crucial information to bring her down. If you do find something important, send it to me immediately.”

“Using ruse instead of brute force? Asked Sunset. You surprise me, Moonlight.”

“The better way to break down an empire is from the inside, he answered. Also, after watching a certain anime where the main character have to infiltrate a powerful criminal organization, i’m dying to do it too! By the way, you should maybe change your look a little. Let me just a moment...”

Moonlight gave Sunset a more gothic look.

“Much better, he said. Alright, let’s do this thing...I feel Nightmare Moon’s presence in the Everfree forest.”

“The Castle of the Two Sisters, said Sunset. She must have restored it and made it her base.”

“What about Canterlot’s castle, then?” asked Moonlight.

“Knowing about the resentment of Luna toward her sister, answered Sunset. The first thing she’d do would be destroying it in front of Celestia. In my opinion, there is probably nothing good left in this town.”

“My instinct tell me to go there, said Moonlight. Forget about the infiltration part, i’m going to Canterlot!!”

Moonlight took off and flew toward Canterlot. Sunset sighed and followed him shortly after. About Fourty minutes later, they were above the city. Suddenly, a rain of projectiles was thrown at Moonlight, who took them without flinching. He dove to the ground and landed straight in the middle of a group of Unicorns, Pegasus and Earth Ponies. His injuries started healing already, and a further look at the background let him notice that many of the buildings were covered of tags of Celestia’s Cutie Mark.

“From the look of it, thought Moonlight, They seem to be a resistance cell opposed to Nightmare Moon’s regime. They probably attacked me because i look like one of her servants...”

Moonlight disarmed the ponies easily. Sunset Shimmer joined him shortly after. She calmed the ponies down with her magic.

“We are not your enemies, said Moonlight. Despite what my darker color palette could say, i’m not a servant of Nightmare Moon.”

The ponies discussed together for a moment. One of them left in direction of the destroyed castle. He came back later accompanied by a familiar figure. It was Twilight Sparkle herself, without her wings. When she saw Moonlight’s wings, she got excited and rushed to examine him.

”She doesn’t have her wings, thought Sunset. From what i can see from her memories, she never got to connect to her Element of Harmony, and never bothered forming solid bonds with Rainbow Dash and the others. She didn’t joined Nightmare Moon because of her attachment to Celestia.”

“Tell me why you’re here!! Asked Twilight. Are you a spy of Nightmare Moon? Did she sent you there to deal with us?! Why don’t you have a heartbeat? Are you really an Alicorn?!”

“We just arrived in this world, answered Moonlight. To summarize it, we’re from another universe, one where Nightmare Moon was defeated and redeemed. As for myself, I’m an Undead...A zombie, if you prefer. Master of the Dark Arts...”

“So cool...Wait, you said using the Element of Harmony? Said Twilight. But how!? I tried to use them against Nightmare Moon, but they didn’t activate. Celestia came in to protect me, but Nightmare Moon overpowered her and banished her to the moon. I had the time to escape, but the girls that were with me, didn’t...”

“Was there only five of them, by any chance?” asked Moonlight.

“Yes, answered Twilight. Why do you ask?”

“There are 6 of them, said Sunset. Did your friends got through her traps?”

“No, Rainbow Dash betrayed us, said Twilight. Still, i managed to find a way to get inside the castle.”

Sunset explained the circumstances of Nightmare Moon’s defeat.

“So, we can already forget using the Element of Harmony, said Moonlight. However, if we could somehow reach to Luna inside Nightmare Moon, she could be able to overcome the darkness in her heart.”

“Only Celestia have a chance to accomplish that feat, said Twilight. But she’s trapped on the Moon...Unless we can undo the banishment spell, there is no mean for us to reach to Luna.”

“Even if you knew the spell to undo the banishment, said Sunset. You couldn’t cast it...Only Alicorns or very powerful magic beings are capable of casting a banishment spell. Luckily for us, we have an Alicorn on our side.”

“If i could see the spell for myself, said Moonlight, i’d have no problem finding how to undo it. One of us has to be banished to the Moon...”

“I’ll do it, said Sunset. I’ll let myself get banned to the Moon, so you can see Nightmare Moon cast the spell.”

“For that, i would need to gain Nightmare Moon’s trust, said Moonlight. But swaying her with words won’t be enough...I need to give her a gift of my loyalty.”

He looked at Twilight.

“Are you crazy?! She said. She’s going to ban me to the Moon with her sister as soon as she see me!! Wait...Actually, that might be a good idea. Let me be the one to be banned...Someone will have to deal with Nightmare Moon and her goons while he cast the counterspell.”

“I should be able to hold my ground against her, said Sunset. Are you sure you want to go with that idea?”

“Yes, answered Twilight. I’m sure!! But Nightmare Moon never saw you two before...How do you expect to gain her trust, even with me as a prisonner?”

“I’m a good liar and manipulator, said Moonlight. I’ll come up with something good and effective...”
> Chapter 4: The End of the Eternal Night

Moonlight and Sunset were walking toward the Castle of the Two Sisters, Twilight immobilized by magic chains between them. When they finally arrived, two Nightmare Guards charged their horn.

“Wait, asked one of the guards, Is that Twilight Sparkle? The rebel our Queen was looking for?”

“Yes!! Said Moonlight. As you can see, we captured her!!”

“But wait, said the other guard. I’ve never seen you two before. How can i be sure this ain’t an elaborate trap to infiltrate the castle and take down our queen?”

“Why would i want to take her down? Asked Moonlight. I mean, look at me!! I’m basically screaming darkness with my color palette. Plus, my first name is Moonlight, go figure.”

“What my brother mean, said Sunset, is that we are supporter of the Queen of the Night.”

The guards looked at each other and nodded.

“We’ll bring you to the Queen, said the first guard. She’s the one to decide what to do with outsiders.”

The two guards lead the trio to the throne room, where Nightmare Moon was sitting, eating grapes. When she saw Twilight Sparkle chained and defeated, she spit out some. She took a look at Moonlight and Sunset.

“My Queen, said the first guard, Those two came to us with a prisoner, claiming to be supporters of yours.”

“I’ve never seen those 2 before, said Nightmare Moon. But they captured Twilight Sparkle, a thorn in my butt for way to long.”

“This mean nothing, said Rainbow Dash. This could be an elaborate plot to overthrow you...I mean, the stallion is an Alicorn.”

“I understand your doubts, said Moonlight. But to be honest, we are not from this world.”

“Meaning?” asked Nightmare Moon.

“We are from another universe, answered Sunset. Where we came from, you have been defeated and reformed.”

“We tried to bring our Nightmare Moon back, using dark magic, said Moonlight. But we failed, and we were banned from our own world as a result. By chance, we landed in this universe, where you rule over Equestria.”

“We went to Canterlot on a hunch, said Sunset. There, the resistants attacked us, but we neutralized them quickly.”

“In exchange for their lives, said Moonlight. Twilight accepted to let herself be captured.”

“That does seem in character for her, said Rarity. She Celestia’s pupil after all, she does share her empathy for her subjects.”

Nightmare Moon stayed silent a moment.

“So, what do you want to do with her? Asked Moonlight. I know i would definitively send her to the moon.”

“I love the idea, said Nightmare Moon. My stupid sister is going to be so heartbroken when she’ll see that her pupil followed her as well.”

She ordered everyone to get away from Twilight. She pronounced an incantation and casted the banishment spell on Twilight. That gave Moonlight and Sunset the time to memorize it. Once it was done, Nightmare Moon laughed devilishly. Moonlight, then Sunset, also laughed to really sell their fake admiration of Nightmare Moon. This one advanced toward Moonlight and hugged him, putting his head between her two melons. Moonlight tried to get out of this situation, not because he was suffocating, but because he was embarrassed.

“You’re going to be my husband, sweetheart, said Nightmare Moon. As for you, you are officially one of my Nightmare officers”

“This is an honor, said Sunset. I’ll make sure to be worthy of that title”

Moonlight finally extirped himself from the booby trap.

“You, my wife? Asked Moonlight. That’s a dream come true! When will the ceremony take place?”

“By tomorrow, answered Nightmare Moon. You’re going to sleep in my room, Moonlight. As for you...Hum..”

“Nova Dusk, said Sunset. I’m Nova Dusk.”

“Well, Nova Dusk, you’re going to share a room with Rarity” said the busty mare.

Rarity and Sunset locked eyes with each other.

“This is going to be fun” said Rarity, smiling devilishly.

“What do we do?” asked Sunset to Moonlight, by telepathy.

”I’ll need time to learn to cast the spell, answered Moonlight, also by telepathy. Since that psycho want to get married tomorrow, ruining the ceremony by executing our plan seem like a fitting punishment for her.”

”I’m going to be the one fighting her, you know, said Sunset. I’m not sure breaking her heart will help me...It might just make her more powerful.”

”Trust me, Sister, said Moonlight. I’ve got this. My plan is flawless.”

”Very well, she said. I trust you...”

Nightmare Moon dismissed her servants and went back to her room, followed by Moonlight. Rarity showed Sunset her chamber.

“So, tell me how is life since Nightmare Moon took over?” asked Sunset.

“Honestly, it’s horrible, answered Rarity. It’s impossible to tan at night and the food is terrible. I’m not allowed to make dresses!! But none of us can beat Nightmare Moon, she’s just too powerful.”

Sunset felt that Rarity was being sincere and told her about her plan.

“Are you sure you can pull that off? Said Rarity. If you miss your shot, we’re all dead...But i’ll do literally anything to see the sun again!”

“Are any of your friends need to know as well?” asked Sunset

“Rainbow Dash is loyal to Nightmare Moon, answered Rarity. Fluttershy is very close to her, so she’ll probably told her right away. Applejack can’t lie, so i won’t tell her either. Pinkie Pie is the only one beside me that can keep a secret, but i prefer leaving her out of it. Beside, i’m the one Nightmare Moon trust the most”

“Good to know, said Sunset. We’ll start tomorrow”

In Nightmare’s room, Moonlight was strapped to a bed. The Queen of the Night was wearing a black BDSM leather outfit, revealing where it matter.

“Are you into BDSM, Dear Moonlight?” she asked.

“I don’t mind, answered Moonlight. But you see, i’m actually dead inside, literally. I’m sort of a Zombie. So i can’t get an erection, nor feel pain”

“Is that so? Said Nightmare Moon. Well, i love zombies...Now...Sleep!”

Moonlight felt asleep and woke up shortly after, Nightmare Moon was still here too, but something was different.

“We are in your dream, said Nightmare Moon. I modified it so you can feel pain and get an erection...”

“Never thought one day i would be dominated by the Night Empress herself, said Moonlight. A dream come true...”

Nightmare Moon smiled. The next day, Moonlight woke up, sleeping next to Nightmare Moon.

“Is it already morning? Asked Moonlight. With the eternal Night thing going on, it’s hard to guess what time of day we’re at.”

“I can assure the sun would already be up at this hour, answered Nightmare Moon. If Celestia was still there to raise it! Ha ha ha ha ha!!”

Moonlight laughed with her briefly.

“If we’re going to get married, said Moonlight. Can you tell me how this transformation of yours work? Are you just a magical personification of Luna’s darker side? Like in my world?”

“It might be the case in your universe, answered Nightmare Moon. But not in this one. This is actually a transformation unique to me and my sister, if i can still call her that. One that’s unlocked by the darkness in our hearts. Mine is called Nightmare and it feed on my jealousy and resentment. As for Celestia, she can also transform into a similar form, known as Daybreaker. Anger and hatred are what power her transformation. And over the course of a millenia, my resentment for Celestia grew only stronger. I resent her for being the favorite child, the Princess everyone in the kingdom was looking up to, while i was in the shadows. I resent her for banishing me, her own sister, to the moon without remorses for centuries...”

“Enough sorrow, said Moonlight. It’s time to prepare for the wedding ceremony!”

“Yes!! Said Nightmare Moon. I don’t know why i was telling you that stuff.”

“Everypony need somepony they can share their thoughts with, said Moonlight. You’re no exception, Nightmare Moon.”

“Please call me Luna, she said. Nightmare Moon is only a surname i gave to this form of mine.”

Moonlight shared this information with Sunset Shimmer.

“Amazing, said Sunset to herself. So, it’s just a transformation...A power up...A disguise she uses to hide her true feelings. A disguise powered by her resentment and jealousy. But somehow, Moonlight was able to crack her shell in the span of a night. He’s reaching out to her old self, and he could do it!!”

She contacted Moonlight and shared with him her new plan.

”Leave me one week and i’ll make her good ol’ Luna again!!” he answered.

And so, later that day, Moonlight convinced Nightmare Moon to put on delay the wedding for a week. Under the excuse he wanted to see her true self. The following days, Moonlight was able to make Luna open her heart to another person, by showing her love and attention, something she needed. The night before the Wedding, Nightmare Moon was acting her true self with Moonlight.

“You know, said Luna. You’re the first one in a long time that see me for who i really am. In one week, you erased centuries of sorrow, resentment and hatred from my broken heart. I know the truth about you, Moonlight. I can see you are not a bad person. Even if you didn’t meant it, your kindness gave me hope, the strenght to overcome my darkness. And for that, i’m really grateful to you.”

She was crying tears of joy. Moonlight felt his heart melting.

“It might have started as a fake act, said Moonlight. But i stopped faking it the morning you opened up to me. I really love you, Luna.”

“Well, i guess i should give my sister a second chance, said Luna. Do you want me to do unban her and Twilight right away?”

“Meh, They can wait one more night...” said Moonlight with a smug smile.

They laughed wholeheartedly. The next day, Sunset Moonlight and everyone were looking at the moon. Luna sighed and took a deep breath. A smile and a thumb up from Moonlight chased away her fear and she calmed.

“It’s time, she said. Celestia!! Twilight!! I, Luna!! Princess of the Night and Keeper of Dreams!! Hereby free you from the Moon!! Come back to Earth!!”

A beam hit the Moon. Shortly after, Celestia and Twilight came out from a portal. Celestia looked at Luna with tears in her eyes.

“Sister! Said Celestia. I’m sorry!”

“No! I’m sorry!!” said Luna.

They hugged each other.

“I should have be a better sister for you, my dear Luna, said Celestia. I got drunk on the admiration the others had for me, so much that i neglected you. You wanted more recognition, but in my selfishness, i only left you suffering in solitude.”

“I’m also at fault, sister, said Luna. I acted selfishly as well. I resented you for getting all the love from the people of Equestria and i forgot that a true princess serve her people, even if it’s in the shadows. Moonlight’s love and kindness broke the veil of darkness clouding my heart. I’m sorry for banning you to the moon...”

“Meh, somehow, i deserved it, said Celestia. Can you do the honor of raising the Sun with me, sister?”

“I thought you’d never ask...” answered Luna.

Twilight was beating the crap out of Moonlight.

“Please, i’m sorry!! Said Moonlight. It was her idea!!”

“Maybe, but you went along with it, jackass!! Said Sunset. And i also notified Twilight about the change of plan...”

“But thank you, you two, said Twilight. I’m going to live to the legacy of your Twilight...And i have a lot of work in front of me...”

“Just trust your friends, said Sunset. And the rest will come on it’s own...”

“So, are we still getting married?” asked Moonlight.

“Nope, she answered. I have tons of work i need to do. And since i’m sure you can’t stay in this world, it’s for the better. Still, i’ll always remember you, Moonlight.”

A portal opened in front of Sunset and Moonlight.

“Well, it’s time for us to go...said Sunset. We have other universes to save!!”

“Take care of yourself, okay? Said Moonlight to Luna. Oh, do you want to come with us?”

“You...You want me to go with you? Asked Luna. I don’t know...I have my responsability as a princess!! And...And...”

Celestia pushed her gently in the back with a smile.

“It’s okay, said Celestia. Who do you think raised the Sun and the Moon all the time you were away? Follow your heart, Luna...”

She nodded and turned back to Moonlight.

“Wait for me, Moonlight!! She shouted. I’m coming with you!!!”

And thus, our heroes gained a new ally, Princess Luna.
> Chapter 5: New Mission!! Save Equestria from the Evil Queen!!

Sunlight, Moonlight, Sunset and now Luna as the newest member, were waiting for Discord to give them their next mission. This one arrived out of the bathroom, wearing a towel.

“That’s really Discord? Said Luna. And you’re telling me he’s a good guy?”

“Even someone like me can change, said Discord. I’m still chaotic, but good. I’m Chaotic Good...”

“So, what’s next? Asked Sunlight. Where are you going to send us now?”

“In an Universe where Starlight, Trixie, Myself and Thorax failed at rescuing everyone Chrysalis has captured, answered Discord. More precisely, Starlight failed to convince the Changelings to turn against their Queen. As such, The changelings were successful at usurpating the most loved figures of Equestria, stealing love from ponies all over the kingdom without anyone being able to stop them.”

“Are everyone she kidnapped still alive? Asked Moonlight. I don’t see the point of getting rid of the dopplegangers if the originals are dead.”

“They are still alive, answered Discord. Chrysalis kept all of her enemies as trophies. Like a mosquito stuck inside a crystal of amber. Her throne is made form a stone that nullify magic, so...”

“Well, that’s a job for me, said Sunlight. My android body work in both magic and magicless environments. The only thing that change is the nature of my attacks. To summarize it, if there is magic available around me, my attacks will have magical properties. If there is no magic available, my attacks will have energetic properties.”

“Her throne only nullify magic, not energy, said Moonlight. He’s right, Sunlight is the only one that can enter the Changeling Hive and save everyone. But what about us?”

“It’s simple, said Sunset. We get rid of the changelings that replaced the princesses and the Mane 6. My psychic magic will allow me to guess who’s a Changeling and who’s not. Then i can take them out”

“Can i come too?” asked Luna

“For your own safety, said Discord. Probably not...”

“Don’t worry, said Moonlight. I’m not going either.”

“So, it’s just me and Sunset, said Sunlight. Fine by me! Let’s go!!”

Discord opened a portal the two siblings entered in. Sunlight reappeared at the frontier of the Changeling Kingdom, and Sunset, right in Ponyville. Sunlight flew in furtive mode right toward the entrance of the hive. Once he was there, he entered inside the hive.

“Oh boy, he said. It’s going to be a pain in the ass to reach the throne room.”

Sunset had put on her a white cloak to hide her mane and tail and was walking inside Ponyville. It was not long until she bumped into Rarity.

“Watch were you’re going, you ruffian!! Said Rarity. This is expensive fabric i’m carrying!!”

“I’m sorry” said Sunset.

She noticed how bad the dresses looked like. They were obviously made by an impostor. A quick peek in her mind confirmed this Rarity was a Changeling. The false Rarity walked away with an exagerrated elegance. Sunset followed her to her Boutique with the stealth of a ninja. Once the Changeling got inside, Sunset teleported right in front of a window. After a quick peek inside the Boutique, she teleported inside. She didn’t let the Changeling any time to react and swiftly immobilized it.

“What...What is the meaning of this?! Said Rarity. Who are you?!”

“I know you’re a Changeling, she answered. Just reveal yourself...”

“What are you talking about?! Said Rarity. I’m Rarity, the Element of Generosity!!”

“Do it, now!!” said Sunset.

“Yes” answered the Changeling.

Rarity turned into a Changeling.

“You bitch...said the creature. What are you going to do with me?”

Sunset smiled and carried the Changeling outside. When the citizens of Ponyville saw it, they were scared. Eventually, the rest of the Mane 6 came to calm down the crowd.

“Stay calm!! Said Twilight. Return home and stay barricaded!!”

She walked toward Sunset.

“I’m sorry, guys, said the Changeling. This mare busted me...She already know me and you are Changelings.”

“Still, it’s six against one, said Twilight. We can overpower her easy.”

Sunset smiled and immobilized the 6 fakers, who reverted to their true form. She then put them asleep with a spell. The citizens left their houses and gathered around Sunset.

“They were Changeling?! Said Mayor Mare. Oh dear...Where are the real ones?”

Sunset explained the problem and assured everyone that there were no more Changeling in town.

“So, not just the Mane 6 had been replaced, said Mayor Mare. The Princesses as well were replaced too...I never thought those monsters were able to pull out such a scheme without anyone noticing!”

“I’ll be heading for Canterlot, now, said Sunset. Then i’ll head for the Crystal Empire. But before that...”

She let the Changelings leave Ponyville.

“Was that a good idea? Said Mare. Well, thank you for saving us, good luck!!”

Sunset headed for Canterlot. Sunlight was still trying to find his way to the throne room. Even with his advanced GPS to guide him, the hive was extremely tedious to navigate.

”I’m definitively closing in” thought Sunlight. 

One hour in, he finally arrived in a new place where there was a door guarded by two Changelings. By chance, it opened to let a squadron pass. Sunlight took the opportunity and headed for the door. He passed right through without problem. Then, he saw one Changeling going inside an opening while the rest continued their way. Following his intuition yet again, he took the same route than him. A few minute laters, he saw a heavily guarded door and felt the presence of multiple ponies behind it.

“That’s it, i made it to the royal room, thought Sunlight. But those doors won’t open for anyone except the Queen”

By chance, Chrysalis herself passed right next to him, heading for her room. Sunlight followed her without making a noise. The guards opened the door and both passed through it. Chrysalis headed for her room and Sunlight saw the throne in the middle of the room. Meanwhile, Sunset had already made it to Canterlot, broken into the castle, took out the Changelings usurpating Luna and Celestia’s identities and explained everything to the personal of the castle, to finally release them outside of Canterlot. Now, there was only the Crystal Empire left. Back at the Changeling Kingdom, Sunlight was still thinking about the best course of action to take, not realizing his invisibility wore off.

”First, I’m going to destroy the throne with a powerful attack, thought Sunlight. But that would alert Chrysalis and the entire hive. Should i wait for her to leave, free the others from her cocoons, then smash the throne to pieces? Ugh...The Changeling reformed by giving away their love, and it was Starlight and Thorax both that made it work.” 

While he was thinking about what to do, he dodged a blast of magic coming in his direction. He faced toward the direction of the attack. A lone changeling was looking at him. Sunlight’s intuition told him it was probably Thorax, and went for it.

“You’re Thorax, right? Asked Sunlight. I’m one of Starlight’s friend. I know she’s also one of your friends too!”

“Chrysalis made me pay for my betrayal, said Thorax. She made Starlight suffer and she only agreed to stop if i became her servant again...But how can you use magic inside the hive?”

“Actually, said Sunlight. It’s not magic, but science. I’m an artificial being, as such, i’m not affected by the Throne’s magic nullifying properties. If i bring that bitch down to her knees, would that be enough for the Changeling to turn against her?”

“Yes, said Thorax. That should definitively encourage the Changelings to rise against her. Are you sure you can beat her?she’s pretty strong after feeding on my friends repetitively. I lost all hope of saving my people from her. But somehow, i feel like i can trust you!”

“Then say no more!!! Said Sunlight. Hey, you freaky sadistic bitch!! Show yourself!!”

“WHO CALLED ME THAT!!?” screamed Chrysalis, rushing in lightning fast and pissed.

Thorax pointed at Sunlight.

“A pony? She said. How did you get past the maze without being seen?!”

“You passed right next to me earlier, answered Sunlight. I was just invisible.”

“But how? She said. Only Changeling magic is supposed to work in my hive!! Are you a Changeling?!”

Sunlight turned his right arm into a cannon.

“You’re a robot?” she asked.

“An artificial Android, answered Sunlight. Your throne only cancel magic energy, not physical energy. And i’m using the former. But enough talk...I’m here to bring you down, Chrysalis. You need to chose your side now, Thorax...Do you trust me?”

“Yes, answered Thorax. I trust you! I will do my best to help you defeat that bitch!”

“I should have killed you, said Chrysalis. I suppose i’ll correct that mistake!”

Sunset was almost arrived at the Crystal Empire. Some moments later, the train stopped and she entered in the city. She went around town to make sure that there were no Changeling.

“No Changeling outside the castle, said Sunset. It’s time to get inside.”

She easily entered inside the castle and looked for the Changelings’ presence. She capted the thoughts of one of them, coming from Cadence’s room. She broke in and immobilized the Changeling, who was in his original form. After putting it asleep, she went to Flurry’s room and took care of the Changeling playing with her toys the same way. Another changeling entered the room, that also knew the same fate. She reunited the 3 of them, tied them up and delivered them to the guards, after sharing with them the details of the situation.

“Thank you, miss! Said the second in command of the Crystal Guard. We shall put those creatures in jail until our Princess decide their judgement.”

“I’m taking them outside of the empire, said Sunset. I want them to return back to their hive and warn their queen about me.”

On those words, she released the 3 Changelings once she was outside the city. Back to the hive, A Changeling arrived in the throne room, interupting the fight between Chrysalis and Sunlight.

“Can’t you see i’m busy at the moment?! Asked Chrysalis. What do you have to tell me?!”

“Ma’am, said the Changeling Drone. I have bad news...We lost Ponyville, Canterlot and the Crystal Empire!!”

“What?!” said Chrysalis.

“Well, that was quick! Said Sunlight. My sis sure didn’t waste any time...”

“Impossible! Said Chrysalis. It doesn’t matter!! I’ll kill you two now and then your sister!!”

“Hey guys!! Said the Drone. Queen Chrysalis is fighting Thorax and a pony!! You should see this!!”

Almost immediately, the place swarmed with Changelings, looking for a good show. As time went by, Chrysalis was starting to lose the face in front of all her subjects. The Changelings were cheering for Sunlight and Thorax.

“Is this really who you want to serve? Asked Sunlight. A sadistic Queen with a heart of stone? Wouldn’t you prefer having Thorax as your leader, instead. He was tortured for standing for what’s right! To defend his convictions!!”

The Changelings nodded at each other.

“I think i would prefer Thorax as our leader!! Said a Changeling. I’m sick of starving!!”

One after another, the hive showed their support for Thorax and Sunlight. Thorax let out all the love he still had left and transformed into a bigger, prettier and more colorful Changeling.

“This is what a true Changeling look like!! Said Thorax. So, it’s your turn to decide if you want live in fear and hunger, or in peace and satisfied!! Give all the love you have to her!!”

The Changelings, one after another, did the same thing than Thorax. Eventually overwhelming the place with their love and destroying the room, throne included. The cocoons fell on the ground and the Changelings proceeded to free them. Thorax went to look for Sunlight, who was gone.

“Thorax? Asked Starlight. You...saved us?”

“He did!! Said another Changeling. Should have seen him and that Unicorn beating the shit outta her!!”

“A Unicorn? Asked Starlight. Who?”

“Seem like he left, said Thorax. Anyway, what do you want to do with her?”

Sunlight and Sunset met back in the middle of Ponyville. They were smiling proudly.

“We did it!!” they said.

A portal opened in front of them and the two returned back to Discord’s house.
> Chapter 6: A Deadly Alliance.

Sunlight, Sunset, Moonlight and Universe-292 Luna were awaiting their next mission. Discord made himself some tea and sat on his chair.

“Up until now, said Discord. You have done a fine job. But now, things are going to get significantly harder.”

“It’s true that up until now, we only fought small fries, said Sunlight. Sombra wasn’t that much of a problem, Nor was Chrysalis.”

“Same for me, said Moonlight. No offense, Luna.”

“Speak for yourself, said Luna. I didn’t even get to do a single mission.”

“What do you mean, by harder?” asked Sunset.

“You’re going to be dealing with more powerful opponents that them, answered Discord. For example, Tirek, Eris, Cosmos, Me, Daybreaker, Sunset Shimmer, Midnight Sparkle, Moonlight Frost...and even you, Sunlight Blaze.”

“Just like that, said Sunlight. How many universes there is in which i’m a bad guy?”

“A fairly good amount, answered Discord. But in most of them, you had been defeated. However, there is 3 or 4 where you defeated the heroes of Equestria. But enough about that, the next universe i’m sending you in is one where Tirek attempted to betray me, after he absorbed the magic of the Mane 6. But he failed...”

“Are the Mane 6 still alive in this universe?” asked Sunset.

“Yes, answered Discord. Them and the princesses were all sent to Tartarus.”

“I guess we should all go this time, said Sunset. That include you, Luna.”

“Really? She said. Hoorray!!”

“I’m taking Discord, said Sunlight. You 3 take on Tirek.”

“Are you insane?! Asked Sunset. You really think you can beat Discord?”

“Yes, answered Sunlight with a grin. I have a plan to take him out...”

Discord opened a portal in which he threw Sunset, Moonlight and Luna, then opened a second one for Sunlight. He nodded at Discord and jumped inside. He appeared at the base of Mount Everhoof.

“Yeah, said Sunlight, looking at the Fourth Wall. You probably guessed it! I’m going to recover Grogar’s Bell at the top of this mountain. Since i already know the spell to activate it, i’ll be able to use it on Discord and Tirek. But getting up there is going to take some time. I hope the others will be able to hold off Tirek...”

Sunlight started ascending the mountain. Meanwhile, Sunset, Moonlight and Luna were thinking of a battle plan.

“A direct assault on Tirek would be suicide, said Moonlight. After absorbing the magic of every creature in Equestria, including the 4 Alicorns, He should be oozing with power. The other reason is Discord...his magic could easily nullify our magic.”

“So, it’s safe to assume we can’t attack Tirek as long as Discord is around, said Sunset. We need to wait that Sunlight take out Discord, if he can do it.”

And so, the trio decided to not move until Discord wasn’t a problem anymore. 2 hours later, and after multiple attemps, Sunlight made it to the top of the mountain. He saw the bell, but it was protected by a magic barrier. Sunlight smiled and took out a big shard of Chrysalis’s throne from his ass. He then put it against the barrier, that shattered. He re-inserted the shard back where he took it and grabbed Grogar’s Bell. Now, all there was to do was using it against Discord. So he started descending down the mountain. 2 more hours later, Sunlight had made it to Sunset, Moonlight and Luna’s location.

“Sorry i took so long, said Sunlight. I had to get my hands on this baby first”

He showed them Grogar’s Bell.

“Grogar’s Bell, uh? Said Moonlight. Should have known...”

“So, you intend on stealing Discord’s magic, said Sunset. Well, better fight fire with fire, i suppose. But why not just give us the magic that’s inside instead?”

“Discord can feel magic fluctuations, answered Sunlight. The instant i use the bell to release it’s magic to you, he’ll feel it and will come for us...”

“How do we approach Discord, though, asked Moonlight. The instant he see you with the bell, he’s going to take you out.”

“This is why i need you to distract him, Moonlight, answered Sunlight. Use any mean possible to get his attention, i don’t care. I’ll need only a few seconds to blast him with the Bell. If we pull this off, Tirek will be on his own.”

“But there is a problem, said Sunset. If you steal all of Tirek’s stolen magic after stealing Discord’s chaos magic, and then release it afterward, you’ll have to release Discord’s magic first. And the moment he’ll get his magic back, he’ll take the bell for himself and use it on Tirek to give his magic back.”

“Then we kill him, said Moonlight. Without his magic to protect him, he’s as vulnerable as we are.”

“We can’t kill Discord, even with his magic gone, said Sunlight. As long as there is Chaos in the universe, he will continue to exist. But we could still banish him like Twilight and friends did with Cosmos, Discord’s ex-girlfriend.”

“That doesn’t solve the problem, said Sunset. The moment we release all the magic in the bell, Discord’s magic will come back to him, and he’ll be able to unban himself, then get rid of us.”

“Then, one of us have to take Discord’s magic for itself” said Luna.

“I’ll do it, said Sunlight. I’ll take Discord’s magic inside me. I have inside me a big shard of stone from Chrysalis’ throne. I used it to break the barrier between me and the bell. Once i put his Chaos magic inside me, the antimagic properties of the stone will cancel it’s effects. Then, we can release all the magic left in the bell. Afterward, i’ll use the bell on myself to get the chaos magic out of my body, then give Grogar’s Bell to the princesses. They’ll decide about his punishment.”

“That’s a great plan, said Luna. But will i get to play a role in it”

“It is possible however, said Sunlight, that the bell won’t be able to contain all of Tirek’s stolen magic. If this happen, we’ll have to force him to give it back, one way or another.”

“I do have the perfect curse for this situation, said Moonlight. I hate to use it, but if we have no other choice, then i’ll cast it on Tirek. It’s a spell that cause a pain proportional to the amount of magic power one being possesses. The more magic power, the greater is the pain. On someone like Tirek, this spell will be super effective.”

“And if he still doesn’t go down, said Sunset. Then i’ll use my psychic power to take control of his probably weakened mind and make him release the magic he stole. If i can’t mind-control him, i’ll just put him to sleep.”

“This is where i come in, said Luna. Once he’s asleep, i can enter his dreams. I’ll torture Tirek by exploiting his fears, or if he doesn’t have any, i’ll straight up bore him until he cracks. Then, i’ll propose him to end his nightmare if he gives back the magic he stole.”

“Let’s hope we don’t have to get to that part, said Sunlight. Okay, let’s do this!! First is to locate Discord...Oh, found him! He’s causing some trouble in Ponyville. And Tirek doesn’t seem to be with him...Perfect!”

They headed for Ponyville. After half an hour, they arrived there. Moonlight entered the village, followed by Sunset and Luna. As for Sunlight, Discord had shrunk the bell enough for the hero to put it in his mouth. He was also invisible, walking at good distance from the trio and ready to use the bell.

“Hey, Discord!! Said Moonlight. Bill Cipher is a better version of you!!”

The draconequus appeared shortly after.

“What did you say?! He asked. I dare you to repeat that!!”

“Bill Cipher is better than you, answered Moonlight. He’s what you should have been as a villain!”

Discord turned Moonlight into a bunny, then, he was hit by a beam coming from behind. He turned and saw Sunlight, holding Grogar’s Bell, in his direction. But it was too late, as his magic was already gone. Moonlight returned back to normal.

“That bell, said Discord. How did you know of it’s existence? And how did you pass through the barrier?!”

Sunlight stepped on Discord body, pinning him against the ground.

“Let’s just say i’m very well-informed, answered the android. How could you betray your friends like that, asshole!!?”

“Except Fluttershy, none of my so-called friends treated me as such, said Discord. They always found excuses to avoid me,  always rejecting me when all i wanted is to bond with everyony. Do you think i want to defend people who reject me like i was a rabid animal? They didn’t deserved me on their side, they deserved what was coming to them.”

“But you betrayed Fluttershy, said Sunset. She was the only one who loved and respected you. Wasn’t her love enough for your oversized ego? What could be worth more than the sincere affection of the kindest being in Equestria.”

“The love of one pegasi, as kind as she is, wasn’t worth being treated like a freak of nature by everypony else. And it is only after doing that, that i regret what i’ve done, seriously...Why would i let you steal my magic? It is a fitting punishment for betraying Fluttershy’s trust.”

“So, you knew what we were coming for you, said Sunlight. You knew i would steal away your magic with this artifact. I assume you know the rest of our plan to take out Tirek, right?”

“Yes, and it will not work, said Discord. Tirek’s magic and Grogar’s Bell magic can cancel each other, since they both have magic-stealing properties. Even with my magic, i won’t be able to stop him, so you 4 don’t even stand a chance against him”

“I know one way, said Sunset. That pendant around your neck, Tirek gave it to you?”

“Yes, he told me it belonged to someone dear to him when he gave it to me, said Discord. This someone was his brother, who betrayed him. I kept it as a reminder of what i’ve done to Fluttershy. I don’t see how it could be useful, though.”

“Is there a magic chest inside the cave, by any chance?” asked Sunlight.

“You mean that crystal box with 6 holes in it? Said Discord. Yes!! There is something like that inside...5 keys have been inserted already, but there is one missing...Twilight’s Key.”

“It’s right around your neck, said Sunset. Scorpan’s necklace is the key to open the chest. You saw Twilight giving her magic away to Tirek, right?”

“Yes, i did see that, said Discord. I also let him send them to Tartarus, i was so ashamed of myself, i didn’t left a finger to intervene...I’m a coward, i know.”

“You still can make things right, said Sunlight. First, we need the girls back...Can you bring them here?”

“I would, said Discord. But you kinda took my magic away...”

“Oh, right, said Sunlight, with a deadpan expression. I forgot...Do you want it back?”

“No, said Discord. Moonlight, i’ll need your assistance, if you don’t mind”

“What do i have to do?” he asked.

“First, i’ll need your help to open the gates of the Tartarus, answered Discord. Then, you’ll free Twilight and her friends. I’ll give the Necklace to Twilight and make amends with them. I’ll explain the rest later.”

“Meanwhile, we’ll get Tirek to the Tree of Harmony” said Luna.

“Should be fun, said Sunlight. I’ll finally be able to show you what i’m capable of”

Sunlight, Luna and Sunset departed for Tirek’s location, while Moonlight, equipped with Grogar’s bell, transported himself and Discord in front of the gates of Tartarus. On the way, Discord whispered something to Moonlight. This one was shocked by the request.

“Can i count on you to do it?” asked Discord.

“I’ll do it, answered Moonlight. If that’s what you want...”

He opened the doors and entered in the Tartarus with Discord. Meanwhile, Sunlight, Sunset and Luna were closing in on Tirek’s location. It was only a matter of minutes before they ran into him. Right away, Sunlight rammed into Tirek head on and knocked him a few meters back. Luna fired a powerful magic beam, combined with Sunset’s telekinetic power, that hit the brute right into the right eye.

“I’ll kill you for that!! He shouted. Who do you think you are!!?”

“Ponies who want you gone, answered Sunlight, flying around him. Your big, but you’re not very smart, aren’t you?!”

Sunlight covered himself in a cloak of electricity just when Tirek grabbed him. He was struck by millions of volts of electricity  and released Sunlight.

“Wow!! Said Sunset. Did you just turned yourself into a taser?”

“Yes! Answered Sunlight. Pretty cool, right? Let me show you something else i’ve learned!”

Sunlight smiled. His body started changing shape, to take the form of a big sniper. (Like those you see in anime or futuristic moves, mounted on a tripod, with a long and huge cannon and capable of destroying giant monsters or robots. Like the one used against Ajeel from the Spriggan 12 in the final season of Fairy Tail. That kind of gun.)

“Mega Blaster, operational!! Said Sunlight. Ready to fire!!”

Tirek smiled and took a defensive stance. Gunlight started glowing intensively as energy was building inside the cannon.

“Take your best shot, said Tirek to Sunlight. Show me your power!”

“Here we go, said Sunlight. Star-Busting-Photon-Blast!!”

Sunlight unleashed a supermassive beam of magic energy that Tirek wouldn’t be able to dodge, even if he wanted too. He fired his own beam of magic at it. But Sunlight’s attack soon overpowered Tirek’s one. Tirek didn’t lost his cool and crossed his arms together. Sunlight’s beam finally hit Tirek, and the sheer power of the attack made the goliath slide against the earth over hundreds of miles. When the magic beam lost it’s power and dissipated, Tirek realized he was in the middle of the Everfree forest. Both of his arms were severely damaged. His left arm was heavily bruised, but he could still move it. As for his right arm, it was completely burned to a crisp, and all the bones in it, shattered.

“Wow, his attack broke one of my arm, thought Tirek, smiling. But it could have been worse for me if i didn’t lower the power of his attack beforehand. The guy would actually have destroyed both my arm, as well as incapacitate me. Could he actually be more powerful that 4 Alicorns? No, i doubt about that. In this case, i see only one reason to. This attack was not a magic one. This must be why it was able to damage me despite being powered by the magic of 4 Alicorns.”

Sunlight, shortly followed by Luna and Sunset, caught up to Tirek.

“Not bad, said the giant Centaur. The nature of this attack was not magical, am i right?”

“You’re right, said Sunlight. The source of this attack is energy-based, and it’s a subject i’m not going to dive into. I’m suprised you’re still alive after taking that attack, Tirek.”

“I didn’t came out unscathed, though, said Tirek. You broke one of my arms and seriously burned the other. An attack that powerful must have took it’s toll on you, right?”

“Yes and no, answered Sunlight. The only downside is the long cooldown i need to wait before using it again. Now, time to end this chapter.”
> Chapter 7: The Empress of Equestria.

Sunlight was still fighting a powered-up and angry Tirek, supported by Sunset and Luna. In the meantime, Moonlight and Discord made it to Tartarus and where in face of the Mane 6.

“Discord?! Asked Twilight. How dare you show yourself to us again!!?”

Moonlight unlocked the cage containing the Mane 6. Applejack immediately jumped on Discord, who felt on the ground.

“I’m going to give you five across the ass!!” she said.

“Just do it, said Discord. I’m powerless right now, i don’t have my magic anymore...”

“What? Asked Rarity. So, Tirek stole it from you, right?”

“No, he didn’t, said Discord. I willingly got rid of my magic, that is now in this bell.”

Moonlight showed Grogar’s Bell to the group.

“No way, said Celestia. Is that Grogar’s Bell?”

“Yes, answered Discord. I let him and his friends steal my magic with it. Moonlight, give them the Bell”

Moonlight gave the Bell to Celestia, who was surprised.

“I betrayed you, said Discord. So, it is simply fitting to let you decide of my punishment...Without my magic, i’m like anypony else.”

“It’s our fault too, said Twilight. Although we were supposed to be friends, we didn’t treat you like one...I rejected you when all you wanted is some attention.”

“We took you for granted, said Rarity. We all though Fluttershy’s affection would be enough to keep you in rank. But we were wrong. We should had treated you better, Discord.”

“To be fair, i considered refusing Tirek’s proposition, said Discord. But the way you kept rejecting me really hurt my feelings, you know. I didn’t took much from Tirek to convince me to join his side...”

“I don’t blame you, said Fluttershy, hugging Discord. You were still early in the stage of your redemption, and beside me, no one put efforts in being a good friend to you...”

“We promise to treat you better, Discord, said Applejack. We’ll never take you for granted again...So, do you have a plan to take him down?”

Discord gave Twilight Tirek’s necklace.

“Tirek offered me that necklace in sign of what i thought would be a beautiful friendship, said Discord. But i was wrong to think he would have been a genuine friend. So, today, i’m giving it to you, as a token of my friendship, to apologize for everything i’ve done...”

A rainbow light briefly appeared on the necklace, then in her eyes.

“Don’t tell me, said Rainbow. Could this be the last key we need to open that box?!”

Moonlight opened a portal.

“Get in, slowpokes, he said. This portal will bring you directly to the Tree of Harmony...Do what you have to do, save Equestria!!”

The girls entered in the portal and disappeared.

“You know what you have to do, Moonlight, said Discord. Do it, i have to be punished for what i’ve done...Destroy the bell, and my magic with it.”

“No! Said Celestia. You won’t take the easy way out, you weasel. Although i admire your resolve, you’re not the only one to blame for this. To be fair, i knew when i sent you to stop Tirek, that you’ll join his side.”

“You knew? Asked Discord. Of course, you wanted me to learn a valuable lesson about friendship, right?”

“Yes, answered Celestia. It was necessary for you to fully redeem yourself. It was also a lesson for Twilight, to help her grow even stronger, more confident. So...”

She gave Discord his magic back.

“To be honest, i knew it too, said Discord. You’re not the only one who can foresee the future, dear Celestia. I was playing along with the script!!”

They hive-fived each other.

“My feelings were genuine, though, said Discord. I really felt bad betraying my friends, even if it was all for the good of Twilight.., I also wanted her and her friends to learn a lesson about caring for your friends, as weird as they are.”

“I’m sorry you had to go through this, said Celestia. But in the end, it is all for Twilight, for her future as the Princess of Friendship...”

“I should probably see how my friends are doing against Tirek, said Moonlight. While we were talking our hearts out, they are fighting that brute...”

Back to the Tree of Harmony, Sunset and Luna had been K.O’d and Sunlight was the only one to fight Tirek.

“Thank Celestia for having unlimited energy, said Sunlight. Have it been the old me, Tirek would have already put me K.O. Although i’m far too weak to overpower him, i can still fight as long as i want to.”

He saw Moonlight and Discord arrive. Moonlight grabbed Sunset and Luna and carried them away. Sunlight let himself get distracted and that allowed Tirek to grab him.

“Enough flying around, boy, said Tirek. This fight lasted way longer than it should have...I’m gonna crush you to pieces...”

Sunlight disappeared from his hand and reappeared beside Discord.

“Oh, look who’s back! Said Tirek. The traitor himself...So, you came to surrender yourself to me?”

“No, said Discord. Take this!!”

Discord made a giant ball of slime fall on Tirek, covering him in a thick, green goo. He then turned the slime into steel, trapping Tirek. This one broke the steel prison and fired a beam at Discord, who just turned it into confettis.

“I should have standed for my friends, said Discord. And i’m doing this right now!! Do you see me, Fluttershy? Your friend is doing what he should have done from the beggining...”

“I see you, said Fluttershy, smiling. I’m glad to have you as a friend.”

“Let’s do this, girls!! Said Twilight. It’s time to save Equestria!!”

They opened the chest and a rainbow laser came out of it. The mane 6 powered up, their manes changing colors and their aura growing stronger. Tirek turned his head to the direction of the sky and was sidered.

“No way!! How?!! He yelled. Whatever, you won’t defeat me, little ponies!!”

“I think it’s our cue to leave, said Moonlight. Hey, Sunlight, let’s go, i’m sure the girls can handle this from this point! We have other universes to save!!”

“Say hello to your Discord for me, okay? Said Discord. Thank you for everything, my friends!”

“That’s our job, said Sunlight, smiling. Oh, one last thing, put the bell back where i found it, okay?”

“Of course, said Discord. Count on me, friend!! And goodbye!!”

The 4 ponies disappeared completely and reappeared in Discord’s house.

“You’re impressive! Said Discord. It seem nothing can stop you!! Let me help those 2”

Discord healed Sunset and Luna, who woke up fresh.

“It really suck that my body have a limit to the power it can produce, said Sunlight. I threw my strongest attack at this brute and he was still standing.”

“In my opinion, said Moonlight. Your infinite stamina and auto-regenerative properties far outweight this downside. Leave the power issue to me”

“It’s true, said Sunset. If it wasn’t for your unlimited stamina, you would have bitten the dust way earlier.”

“I guess you’re right, said Sunlight, looking at the Fourth Wall. It would be kinda unfair if i also had unlimited power, beside infinite energy and stamina. Wink wink”

“I’m going to give you your next mission! Said Discord. It will be the hardest one you’ll be facing so far...Because this time, you’ll have to fight friends...”

“You mean, you’re sending us in a universe where the Mane 6 are evil?” asked Sunset.

“That, but there is also two more things beside an evil Mane 6, said Discord. Those 6 are merely working for a greater treath, plus Cadence, Luna and Celestia. And who that great evil might be? It’s you, Sunset Shimmer.”

“What about me? And you?” asked Sunlight.

“You and i are the only one trying to resist her, said Discord. Plus a few opposants of her regime.”

“Okay, so, what went wrong in this universe?” asked Sunset, not even shocked.

“Well, you successfuly invaded Canterlot, answered Discord. Right after defeating Twilight and her friends in the human world, with the help of Sunlight, you were able to put your evil plan into fruition. With your psychic power, you brainwashed almost everyone in the kingdom into following you, including Luna, Celestia and Cadance, plus the Mane 6. With them under her control, the Elements of Harmony were also under her control as well. I tried to undo her brainwashing, but i was unable to do so, and a head on assault would end up with me being petrified by the Elements...”

“Okay, but is it safe for me and Sunlight to get in this universe? Asked Sunset. After all, both of us already exist in this dimension...”

“It will be fine, said Discord. As long as you do not directly interact with your doubles.”

“So, we’ll have to help this Sunlight without him figuring out our identities, said Sunlight. We’ll need a disguise!!!”

“Say no more, said Luna. I’ve got just the spell!!”

Luna casted a spell on the two siblings. Sunlight’s white-beige skin turned ash grey. His mane went from orange, red and yellow to white, grey and black. Sunset, her, went from pale orange to scarlet, her mane turned from yellow and red to Blue and Purple.

“Sunlight, said Luna, you are now Ashen Hooves!! Sunset Shimmer, you are Scarlet Shine!! And Moonlight, well, you’re still the same. I doubt you exist in this world.”

“He doesn’t, in fact, said Discord. Luna, if you absolutely want to go with them on this mission, you’ll need to hide your identity from the other Luna and Celestia.”

Luna turned into a completely different pony. Hot Pink body, with Red and white .

“Not bad, uh? She said. I use this form when i want to spy on my subjects. I call this alternate identity Velvet Crest.”

“So, what’s the plan” asked Sunset.

“To make a plan, answered Luna. We need to collect informations about the current situation. For example, where people would need our help the most, or where our enemies’ bases are located. You understand?”

“Luna’s right, said Sunlight. As expected for a thousand year old Alicorn princess. We need informations, so, once we get there, we’ll split up and look around for them. Once we got enough information about this conflict, we’ll reunite at one place and elaborate a plan...”

“The kind of infos we need are very simple, said Moonlight. First thing we need to know is how powerful the enemy is, and how much the resistance is disadvantaged face to them.”

“You’ll talk about this later, said Discord, throwing them in a portal. Go save the world, already.”

The 4 ponies landed on the ground. They quickly got up on their feet.

“Alright, said Sunlight, it’s time to do some research in the enemy side!!”

He took off, then turned himself invisible as he was high in the sky.

“I’m going too, said Sunset. I’ll float around, reading the more minds i can to collect informations!”

She left as well.

“Let’s look for the resistance’s main base, said Luna. And while we’re at it, analyze their territory.”

They took off too. Half an hour later, Moonlight and Luna found the resistance’s base. It was in the castle of the two sisters. They saw that this world’s Celestia and Luna were attacking it.

“Sending those two at us, said Sunlight, commanding his troops around the castle. Right as Discord left for a rescue mission...Shining’s forcefield is holding up quite well, but he won’t maintain it for long.”

Moonlight jumped into the action. His eyes glew of a bright red light as he looked at the princesses.

“Alicorn bodies, stop moving!!” said Moonlight.

The two alicorns became frozen in place, unable to move. Moonlight landed in front of the two enemies, arboring his wings proudly in front of them.

“Behold!! Said Moonlight. My Freezing Glare, inspired by the Cockatrice’s stare itself!”

Celestia broke free of the curse and attacked Moonlight with her sword. Moonlight dodged it and casted another curse. Celestia came to slash him, but suddenly got hurt instead of him. She attacked again, and took damages again.

“What’s happening?! Asked the other Luna. Why can’t you hit him?!”

“Be silenced, foe!!! Said Moonlight, casting a silence curse at her. You can’t hit me, Celestia darling. You see, you are also under a particularly powerful curse that turn your own attack against you. It’s name is Reversal. Now, be a darling and sleep!!”

Moonlight’s eyes shined yellow, causing Luna and Celestia to fall asleep. Sunlight came out of the castle, with a couple of soldiers.

“I don’t know who you are, said Sunlight. But thank you for your help, stranger. What’s your name?”

“I’m Shadow-Mane, said Moonlight. I came from another universe to help you save this world.”

“So, my prayers for a miracle to happen to us were answered, said Sunlight. What kind of magic did you used on those 2?”

“Curse magic, answered Moonlight. A form of Dark Magic that’s all about cursing the enemy. I’ve got one for almost any situation. And because i’m an Alicorn myself, my spell can affect those 2 and other powerful being. The cute gal beside me is Velvet Crest, my uh wife!!.”

“Can she fight too? Asked Sunlight. We will take all the help we can!!”

“I can’t fight, said Luna. But i’m good at raising morale!!”

“That work too, said Sunlight. Morale is important in a war”

Sunset Shimmer, or rather Scarlet Shine, arrived to join Moonlight. When she saw Sunlight, wearing a military outfit and an artificial horn, she felt an ache in her heart.

“She’s a friend, said Moonlight. Meet Scarlet Shine!!”

Sunlight had a familiar feeling when he looked at Scarlet. For some reason, he felt reassured by her presence. Not long after, the other Sunlight, or Ashen Hooves, arrived too.

“I’ve got a map of every enemy bases in the kingdom, said Sunlight. Plus the exact number of troops they dispose!!”

When he saw is other self, he hugged him. Sunlight immediately felt weird being hugged by a stranger that seemed familiar as well.

“I’m Ashen Hooves, said Ashen. I’m here to help you, dear. Here!!”

He gave his other self a map of every strategic location of the enemy. The other Sunlight smiled of joy.

“I appreciate the effort, said Commander Sunlight. But we already mapped everything since a while now, so a map of the strategic locations of our enemy is useless.”

“You lacked the firepower, said Moonlight. I figured out that much looking at your troops.”

“But since we are there now, said Sunset. We can actually strike hard and fast. Plus, we have Luna and Celestia in our custody. And i might be able to undo the mind-control spell on them, if you gave me the time.”

“First, we need to repair our base, said Sunlight. How long do you think it would take you to free the princesses from Sunset’s control?”

“Give me a couple of hours and it’s done” said Sunset.

“Perfect” said Sunlight.

Ashen Hooves was burning to fight his other self.

“Hey, asked Ashen. Mind for a sparring session between you and me?”

“I’m all for it!! Answered Sunlight. I never mind a friendly fight...Let’s head for the training field.”
> Chapter 8: Battle against Empress Sunset Shimmer, part 1.

The two Sunlight were staring at each other, turning in circle. Ashen Hoove broke the ground below his alternate universe self. Sunlight began sinking into the ground, but he teleported out of it. Ashen sent at his opponent wind blades that Sunlight countered with electrified wind blades. Sunlight created a ball of golden flames in his hands.

“Golden....Wildfire!!” shouted Sunlight, releasing his spell.

“Fire magic won’t affect me” said Ashen.

The golden fireball exploded on impact. At his surprise, Ashen felt an electric shock coming from the flames, who were covering his whole body.

“Wait, did he combined two magic in one spell? Thought Ashen. Interesting...”

He blew off the flames from his body without efforts.

“That’s some interesting magic you have, said Ashen to Sunlight. Are you using Fusion Elemental magic?”

“Yes, answered Sunlight. I can combine any of the elements i master with another element. For example, i can combine fire with ice to create a blue flame that both freeze and burn at the same time. Or Fire and Nature to create green flames, that poison and burn the enemy. I can do the same with other elements as well, like lightning, wind or ice.”

“How many elements do you master?” asked Ashen.

“9 in total, answered Sunlight. Light, Shadow, Water, Ice, Fire, Wind, Thunder, Earth and Nature.”

“So, 9 elements, and 8 possible fusion for each of them, said Ashen. That’s a lot of potential combinations!!”

“Yep, said Sunlight. And what about you?”

“Welp, i’m also an expert in elemental magic, answered Ashen. Like you, i master all 9 elements. I don’t use it like you do, but mine can take on magical or energical properties, depending on the amount of magic available.”

“So, said Sunlight, you’re saying that even in an environment without magic, you could still use elemental attacks? How is it possible?”

“A completely artificial body, answered Ashen. I can’t say more than that...”

The two continued to fight each other, meanwhile, Luna and Moonlight were passionately having sex in their room. Sunset was working on undoing her evil counterpart’s mind control on the princesses. A few hours later, Sunset finally broke the two of them free from the mind control, and their chains.

“My mind, said Celestia. I feel like my brain had been stomped over by a yak.”

“You must be really talented to have broken such a powerful spell” said Luna to Sunset.

“It takes a psychic to break another psychic’s mind-control, said Sunset. She put psychic locks on you, that i had to carefully break one after another, for the both of you. Now that you’re free, can you fight on our side?”

“Obviously, said Celestia. Let us handle Twilight and her friends, me and Luna should be able to free them from the mind control.”

Sunset brought the two princesses to Sunlight.

“I’m glad you two are on our side, he said. With you two, we can definitively turn the tide of the war”

“We will handle Twilight and her friends, said Luna. And come back to assist you when we saved them.”

“It won’t be easy, said Sunlight. For Twilight particularly. She’s Sunset most priced possession, kept locked in a magic prison, protected by dozens of enchantments. For this reason, i’d prefer you attacking the main strongholds.”

Discord appeared out of nowhere, visibly tired.

“Sorry to be late!” he said.

“Ah, Discord!! Said Sunlight. Your right on schedule!! Because we’re taking the kingdom back today!!”

He stared at Luna and Celestia.

“They’re good now, said Sunlight. That girl over there freed them from Sunset’s mind control.”

“It’s because of them that i lost most my chaos magic” said Discord.

Celestia sighed and casted on him a spell.

“There, you can return in your dimension, she said. How long is it going to take for you to recover?”

“A few days, answered Discord. I propably won’t be able to assist you in this battle. You know Sunset used the Elements of Harmony to created a magic barrier.”

“Right, said Sunlight. That barrier can only be undone by defeating the bearers of the Elements. Unfortunately, that mean we will have to defeat Empress Sunset, since she have the Element of Magic.”

“Let me handle them, said Sunset. I’ll kill two birds with one stone.”

“I’ll rescue Twilight, said Ashen. I’ve got just the tool for this task.”

“I’m taking on Cadence, said Shining Armor. She freed me from a mind-control spell once and it’s time i return the favor!!”

“Me and Luna will hold back Sunset Shimmer” said Celestia.

“I’ll tag along with you, said Moonlight. I’ve got the perfect magic to counter hers...”

“No, said Sunlight. Let me reach to her first. I still believe i can bring her back to reason.”

“She will kill you, Sunlight, said Celestia. You know that, don’t you?”

“I don’t intend on dying, said Sunlight. But if i have to perish to save her, then be it. One way or another, this war will end today!!”

Suddenly, an army of Timberwolves showed up around their base. There were hundred of them, all ready to rip and tear until it’s done.

“Great, said Sunlight. Timberwolves...”

He teleported outside the base and the Timberwolves immediately attacked him. Sunlight summoned a flaming sword in his hand and started cutting the creatures down one by one. Ashen Hooves joined him shortly after, destroying the Timberwolves with red-hot claws. Then the two Luna, Celestia, Shining Armor, Moonlight Frost and Sunset Shimmer joined the fight. They quickly disposed of the magic creatures. But this was only the beginning, as Chrysalis and Cadence showed up with an army of Changeling and Crystal Guards. If that was not enough, The Wonderbolts and the creatures locked in Tartarus were also of the game.

“Leave them to us, said Shining Armor. Me, princess Luna and princess Celestia will stay here to fight them. You and the rest, go!!”

Sunlight nodded and teleported the group as closer as he could from the Royal castle. Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity were standing at the gates. Sunset immobilized them with her magic.

“I’ve got this, she said. Keep going!!”

Sunlight, Luna, Ashen and Moonlight blasted open the gates and entered the castle. They were welcomed by Tirek. Luna and Moonlight nodded at each other.

“We’re taking care of this guy!!” he said.

He opened two portal that the two Sunlight passed through. Ashen jumped in the portal leading to the place where Twilight was held captive. Sunlight, him, entered the one leading to the throne room. He waited for Sunset to show up, which she did almost immediately.

“I thought you’d never show yourself, brother, said Sunset. You came her to stop me? Please...”

“I’m here to bring you back to your senses!! Said Sunlight. It’s not too late for you to stop this madness.”

Sunset answered by firing a magic projectile at him. Sunlight dispelled the attack, not bothered at all. Sunset threw more of her attacks at him. Meanwhile, Shining Armor, Celestia and Luna were fending off the enemy, which wasn’t an easy task.

“Please, Cadence, my love!! Said Shining. You’re stronger than that!!”

“Sorry, dear Husband, said Cadence. I want a divorce”

“How can you lower yourself to this, Chrysalis!? Asked Celestia. Teaming up with your worst enemy!!”

“Trust me, i don’t do this on my own will, she answered. But she’s too strong, even for me.”

“I neutralized the monsters!! Said Luna. I’m sending them right back to Tartarus!”

“Perfect, said Celestia, That’s one less enemy to deal with.”

“Do you need help? Asked Luna. You seem to be struggling!!”

“I’m fine, she answered. Help Shining instead.”

“Desperate situations call for desperate mesures, said Luna. I call upon the power of the Night!!”

Luna’s power skyrocketed as she transformed into Nightmare Moon. She charged at Cadence.

“Powering up? Asked Cadence. I can do it too!! Crystal Heart, give me your power!!!”

Cadence’s power also skyrocketed and a magic armor appeared to cover her body.

“I guess i have no choice, said Celestia. I call upon the power of the Sun!!”

Celestia’s power grew drastically as she turned into Daybreaker. In answer to her transformation, Chrysalis summoned her dreaded Royal Battle Armor, made from anti-magic crystals. At the castle, Sunset was still working on breaking the mind-control and Luna and Moonlight were still fighting Tirek.

“You’re strong, said Tirek. I’d expect no less from Alicorns. I guess i will stop playing and get serious...Rage of the Berserker!!!”

Tirek entered a Berserk mode, Moonlight opened a portal for himself and Luna leading somewhere else, followed by Tirek. They reappeared in the middle of a large field.

“Now, we’ll have more space to fight, said Moonlight. Luna, stand aside”

His aura grew drastically in a short period.

“Dark Magic Arcane: Curse of Immortality!!” shouted Moonlight.

Tirek stroke him with his axe, slicing Moonlight in half. Immediately, his body regenerated in less than a second. Tirek continued swinging his weapon, but each time he hit Moonlight, this one’s body regenerated immediately.

“Why can’t i kill you!?” he shouted

“I understand, thought Luna. Moonlight is simply regenerating faster than Tirek can hit him, giving indeed the impression he’s immortal. His Zombie-like body immune to pain, combined with his extremely fast regeneration is a great weapon against slow and strong opponents. He’s incredible.”

Ashen Hooves was working on taking down the multiple magic barriers surrounding Twilight’s cell, who was watching him with stressful eyes. The artificial Unicorn broke down the last barrier with his anti-magic stone shard, that also shared the same fate. Twilight gained back her magic power and teleported outside her cell. Ashen grabbed her as she was falling down.

“Thank you, she said. Thank you so much...”

“You can thank me later!! Said Ashen. For now, we have to put you to safety!!”

Twilight used her magic to teleport herself and Ashen Hooves outside the castle. Not far away from the good Sunset Shimmer, still dealing with her opponents. When Rainbow and the rest saw her, they let their mental defenses down, allowing Sunset to fully enter their minds. Then, it was only a matter of minutes before she freed the girls from the mind-control. Sunset fell on the ground, exhausted and Ashen took her in his arms.

“Twilight!!” said the five girls

“My friends!! Said Twilight. Oh, i missed you so much!!”

The Mane 6 looked at Ashen Hooves and Sunset Shimmer with grateful expressions. Sunset smiled weakly.

“Where is Sunset?!” asked Twilight.

“She’s fighting her brother, answered Ashen. In the throne room”

“You need to rest, Twilight!! Said Applejack. Let’s get you back to Sweet Apple Acres!!”

“Bring my sister too while you’re at it” said Ashen.

“No, said Sunset. I can keep fighting, i...”

“You’ve done your part” said Ashen Hooves.

Rainbow Dash put Sunset Shimmer in her arms. Ashen Hooves returned inside the castle. In the Throne room, the evil Sunset was still fighting with her brother.

“It’s bad, thought Sunlight. I can barely keep my concentration. Having to defend both against mental attacks and magic attacks is extremely exhausting.”

One of Sunset’s attack pierced Sunlight’s chest, right as Ashen Hooves entered the throne room. Sunlight fell on the ground, a smile on his face.

“No!!! Shouted Ashen Hooves. Sunlight!!”

Ashen created a wind dome around him and his other self.

“I have no regret, said Sunlight. This is the only way this could end...”

Ashen took down his disguise and revealed his true identity.

“I knew it” said Sunlight, laughing faintly

He grabbed Ashen’s right hand and started transfering his magic onto him.

“I passed my magic on to you, he said. Please, save her, Sunlight.”

His heart stopped beating. Sunlight dispelled the wind barrier, got up and looked at the evil Sunset with determined eyes. She looked at the Sunlight lying dead on the floor, then at the other standing right next to him.

“I see, she said. You must be a Sunlight from another universe. How does it feel to see yourself die?”

Sunlight looked at her with a smile.

“How does it feel to kill your own brother?” he asked.

She started having headaches and yelled of pain. She started arguing with herself, like she had two different personalities inside of her head. The situation escalated quickly, and reached it’s peak when a demonic Sunset Shimmer suddenly splitted up from her body. The demonic Sunset took a physical form while the body of another Sunset Shimmer was lying on the ground, unconscious. Sunlight recognized that particuliar dissociation, having happened to him years ago and created his arch-enemy, Moonlight Frost. He went to take her hearbeat and felt nothing.

“There, said the demonic Sunset. She won’t hold me back anymore!!”

Sunlight charged one hand with electricity and casted a wind dome with the other. He sent shockwaves in her body, hoping to restart her heart again. He did it for a couple of minutes until finally, her heart started beating again.

“She’s back, he said. I was able to save her. And now, i’m taking those two out of there immediately.”

He grabbed her and ran toward his other self’s body to grab him as well. When he touched his body, he felt a familiar magic coursing through it and smiled. Demon Sunset immediately went after him, with a sadistic expression on her face.

Sunlight was running in the middle of Canterlot, all while avoiding the demonic Sunset’s attacks.

“Is she playing with me? Said Sunlight. What a sadist, that one. And i can’t fight while carrying those two with me. I wish i could still create clones of myself.”

Meanwhile, the battle raging between Daybreak Celestia and Battle-Armored Chrysalis, and between Nightmare Luna and Love Empress Cadence was reaching his peak. Their clash was creating so much magic energy that both the Changelings and Crystals soldiers were paralyzed by the sheer intensity of it. As for the fighters, they were feeling exhausted.

“I told you magic doesn’t work against me while i’m wearing my battle armor, said Chrysalis. Wait...why am i feeling so dizzy all of a sudden. I feel so tired, when did it became so hot around here?”

Daybreaker smiled. Chrysalis removed her battle armor and threw it away.

“That’s better” she said

She started fighting even harden, with faster, more powerful attacks, and so did Daybreaker. Then, suddenly, Chrysalis collapsed and fell on the ground. Celestia turned back to her base form and immobilized her opponent with magic chains. On Luna’s side, she reverted back to her base form and was barely standing up.

“Useless, Useless, Useless!!! Said Cadance. You’ll never match the Crystal Heart’s power!!”

Shining suddenly appeared between them.

“You freed me from Chrysalis’ mind control back at our wedding, remember? He asked. Well, i’ll return the favor...”

Shining Armor kissed Cadance passionately and shortly after, started making out in front of everyone. The view shifted to Celestia, Chrysalis, Luna, the Changelings and the Crystal guards, with expressions going from arousal to embarrassment.

“Shining, she said. We can’t do that there!! Everyone can watch us!!”

“Then Let them enjoy” he answered.

Celestia sighed and casted a soundproof, reflecting dome to hide the two. Meanwhile, Moonlight and Tirek were still duking it out. None of them were showing signs of exhaustion and Luna was getting bored.

“Okay, this is getting dumb, said Moonlight. I’ve played with you long enough.”

Moonlight appeared in front of Tirek and put a curse on him at the moment he hit him. He activated the curse and Tirek’s stolen magic left his body.

“You mean, you could have ended this fight whenever you wanted?” asked Tirek.

“Yes, answered Moonlight. This is a technique i developped specially to counter you.”

Moonlight immobilized Tirek with another curse and left.

“I’ll send someone for you, he said. Don’t worry.”

“Wait! He said. Take me with you!!!”

Moonlight looked at him with a doubtful expression.

“No thanks, said Moonlight. I know nothing about you, why would i take the risk to take you with us?”

Tirek sighed.

“I’m an independant mercenary, he said. I work for whoever’s willing to pay me. Sunset Shimmer paid me big money to defend her against anyone other than Sunlight who would enter the castle. But you beat me, i failed to achieve my contract.”

“Why working as a mercenary, though?” asked Luna.

“Money, answered Tirek. I’m doing this job for money.”

“You’re not just doing this for the money, said Moonlight. Could it be you want to prove yourself to someone?”

“My Father, said Tirek. That old fart doesn’t see worth in my person. To him, i’m nothing but a hinder, a deadweight. I want to prove him otherwise. And so, if i can contribute to the Kingdom’s well-being by supporting it’s economy, i’m sure my father will change it’s opinion of me. I chose the job of mercenary because it was the most fitting job for someone like me. I am morally grey and wanted some quick bucks. “And you continued to work as a merc because you liked it, said Moonlight. You realized you were born for this work, so, i’m proposing you a contract. I’ll hire you as my right-hand man. Your job will be to protect me and fight for me if needed.”

“I can get behind that, said Tirek. By respect for you, i won’t ask much about the payment and i’ll only charge for the time i’m fighting for you.”

“How about 50 bucks a day? Said Moonlight. That will be your base salary per day when you’re not working. And how much you contribute to the success of a mission will determine the overall pay you’ll get. If you take down a big enemy, you’ll be rewarded handsomly.”

“I like that, said Tirek. Very well, i accept those conditions...”

“One last, said Moonlight. To avoid you betraying me, I’ll put a curse on the contract. If you break it, the consequences will be terrible for you. But don’t worry, when i’ll be sure and certain that you’ll be a trustworthy ally and a loyal friend to me, i’ll break the curse on the contract.”

“You want to befriend me? Asked Tirek. Eh, i won’t make it easy for you, pal. But i’m looking forward to work for you.”

Moonlight undid the paralysis curse on Tirek’s arms and made him sign the contract with his blood. When it was done, he dispelled completely the paralyzing curse.

“I might be your employer, now, said Moonlight. But please, address me formally by my name. And i promise you that i care about those fighting on my side. I’m not just going to let you do all the work, i’ll take part in it too. I’ll fight by your side, Tirek, and you’ll fight by mine.”

“Hum, can you buff me a little? Asked Tirek. Please?”

Moonlight gave Tirek an artifact he was keeping for years.

“I made this specially for you, he said. This is a device that change your physical and magic power depending on how much magic you want to release from it. I’ll link to your magic signature. I’m sure you’re familiar with it, since it’s Centaur technology.”

Tirek linked with the artifact and immediately tried it. He turned the little wheel on the device and got enough magic from it to regain his standard physique.

“Much better, he said. Does this thing have a limit?”

“Yes, said Moonlight. That device contain a limited amount of magic energy. It work based on a magic transfer mecanism. The higher the setting, the more magic is transfered in your body and the bigger you become. You can of course revert back to a weaker state by lowering the setting. The max setting on this thing give you the magic power 3 Alicorns, but can only be used for a limited time, have a cooldown before you can use it again and revert you back to your weakest state. So chose the right moment to use the maximum output.”

“And you crafted this? Said Tirek. The best artisans of my Kingdom were unable to make one, yet, you did it. With that, i won’t have to drain the magic of others to gain power. I hated using this kind of magic, to be honest.”

Meanwhile, Sunlight arrived inside ponyville, having been able to dupe Devil Sunset away. He explained to the mane 6 and his sister about what happened to this world’s Sunlight and Sunset and that her evil counterpart was heading straight for him. He also told them he was the Sunlight from another universe, and so did his sister and Luna.

“I hope you help her get on the right path when she wakes up, said Sunset. She’ll be confused and need all the help she can get from the experts in friendship. Especially since her brother is dead.”

“Count on me, said Twilight. Despite what she did to me and the others, i’m ready to give her a second chance. As the princess of Friendship, i can’t ignore a broken soul seeking the light of friendship.”

“About him, he’s not dead!! Said Moonlight, who arrived by a portal. Well, he is, but only temporary.”

“I knew it, said Sunlight. You place a curse on him, didn’t ya?”

“Of course i did, said Moonlight. I’m always one step ahead of you. Also, i brought in a new companion to help us in our future missions.”

“I’m deeply sorry for the things i’ve done, said Tirek. But i signed a contract and had to stick to it.”

“He’s a mercenary, said Luna. Moonlight was able to hire him”

“Well, he’s going to be a nice addition to the team, said Sunlight. Knowing you, i assume you have him under control.”

Their counterparts started waking up. Moonlight activated the second effect of the immortality curse he casted on the other Sunlight beforehand. As such, they woke up almost at the same time.

“The plan worked perfectly, said Sunlight to Moonlight with a smile. I knew my death would cause Sunset to have a mental struggle strong enough to force the evil in her to leave her body. But i also wanted to live. Moonlight told me about a spell of his that can keep someone in a dead state for a certain period. It activated seconds before my heart stopped beating and saved my life. I was able to recover my magic energy in the meantime.”

Sunset smacked him in the face, tears in her eyes. Then hugged him hard.

“You idiot!! She said. Don’t you do something like this again. Still, i’m glad you’re alive. Thank you, Moonlight, and you too, Sunlight. And i presume you are me from another universe, right?”

“Yes, said Sunset. And like you, i was also evil in the past, but this mare right here showed me the way to redemption. Well, the one in my universe. What i’m saying is that she will guide you toward redemption.”

Celestia and Luna joined the group, coming from the sky.

“Why did you gave me your magic, though? Asked Ashen to Sunlight. If you knew you were going to come back to life later?”

“As a thank you, answered Sunlight. You’ll need them more than me, because where i’m going, i won’t need magic.”

Ashen smiled.

“You’ll return to the human world, he said. What about you, Sunset?”

“I’ll join him once i’ve paid my debt to Equestria, she answered. I have a long way in front of me before the people respect me again, do i?”

“Yep, answered the other Sunset. But it will all be worth it at the end! Trust me...”

“We’ll handle the rest ourselves, said Sunlight. You’ve done a lot for us, and you have all our gratitude.”

Ashen and his friends, including Tirek, disappeared gradually. Before they completely vanished, Sunlight and the others waved one last time. Ashen smiled and closed his eyes. They reappeared inside Discord’s house.

“That took longer than two chapter, this time, said Discord. But yet again, you saved the day...and made a new friend, i see.”

“Okay, i won’t even ask, said Tirek. This is the Discord from your universe, i imagine?”

“That’s exact, said Discord. Unlike the Tirek in my world, you seem like a nice guy.”

“What happened to him?” asked Tirek.

“Got his ass beaten twice by the same opponents, answered Sunlight. And with the same magic spell.”

“I took the liberty to bring a friend of yours, Moonlight” said Discord.

Sombra showed up, smiling.

“What’s up, boss?” he asked.

“Nothing out of the ordinary, answered Moonlight. Just saving universes.”

“Back in my world, said Sombra to Tirek, Me and your counterpart are friends. I’m hoping we can get buddy-buddy as well. You seem way more polite and refined than him.”

“Well, that’s both reassuring and sad to hear, said Tirek. To think i’m one of the rare Tireks to be reasonnable in the multiverse...”

“So, what is our next mission?” asked Sunlight.

“Cosmos, answered Discord. In the universe i’m going to send you, she returned and forced me into serving her by using Fluttershy to keep me in line. She conquered Equestria and educed all her opponents to either stone statues, innofensive creatures or slavery, while i just stood powerless. Taking her down is not going to be easy. As i am the personification of Chaos, she’s the personification of Malice. She have powers similar to me, and can do pretty much anything i can do. You see, in this universe, she was turned into a stone statue instead of being sent to the stars. Once she got free of her prison, she immediately went on a rampage.”

“A perfect mission to finish this volume, said Sunlight. We could use Grogar’s bell, but if she got you under her control, she’ll probably use you as a shield. Using the Elements of Harmony is also out of the equation. Our options are limited, but we’ll find a way to save the world.”

“We need all the help we can get on this mission, said Moonlight. And a good plan of attack.”

“I really don’t feel it” said Luna. “This mission might just be the last one for us...”

The group, composed of Sunlight Blaze, Sunset Shimmer, Sombra, Tirek, Moonlight Frost and Luna found a hideout inside an abandonned building.

“You’re not wrong, Sweetheart” said Moonlight. “If we mess just one bit, we’re all done for. We need a flawless plan to defeat Cosmos.”

“I’m looking at our odds to pull out a win against her” said Sunset. “So far, it doesn’t look good for us”

“Discord told us before sending us here that Cosmos was holding Fluttershy hostage to force Discord into submission” said Sunlight. “If we can rescue her from this crazy bitch’s grasp, Discord would have no reason to hold back against Cosmos.”

“The thing is, she could be anywhere” said Luna. “Cosmos could have send her in another dimension, for all we know.”

“And it’s likely Cosmos have eyes on her” said Sombra. “Meaning that for us to get a chance to reach Fluttershy, we need to get Cosmos attention.”

“But Cosmos is very powerful!” said Sunset. “As much as Discord...Those of us that will draw her attention must be prepared to be taken out by her magic.”

“She probably won’t fight us straight away” said Tirek. “I bet she’s going to play with us before getting involved, let one of her servants handle her opponents.”

“Let’s decide the roles” said Sunlight. “Sunset, you will try to locate Fluttershy with your divination magic. Tirek, Sombra and Moonlight, you’ll handle Cosmos. Luna, you will rescue Fluttershy once you have an opening. As for me, i’m making a quick trip to the Changeling Kingdom and look for some Anti-Magic rocks. I’ll also look the other kingdoms while i’m at it.”

“Then let me send you as close as i can from their territory” said Moonlight.

“We won’t attack until Sunset find Fluttershy” said Sunlight. “Which could take a while. So, i propose you review our strategy in the meantime.”

Moonlight teleported Sunlight at the border of the Changeling Kingdom.

“I see” said Sunlight to himself. “Chrysalis’ throne is still intact if the closest i can get to them is at the limit of their hive.”

He headed for the hive entrance and arrived in front of it 15 minutes later, turning himself invisible beforehand. He saw a group of Changelings guarding the entrance.

“I see what happened” thought Sunlight. “In this universe, Chrysalis never went along with the kidnapping all the most beloved figures of Equestria plan. But enough about trivia, how do i proceed for getting inside?”

Sunlight came up with an idea and turned himself visible again. He showed up in front of the Changelings. For some reason, they were all female.

“Oh, look girls” said one of them. “We have a visitor”

“He’s handsome!” said another one.

“Do we bring him to the Queen?” asked a third one.

“Nah” said a smaller one.

Sunlight sighed and punched one of them. Immediately, all the female guards surrounded him.

“I swear i’m going to punch every last one of you!! Girls or not!” he said. “I Might not be able to use magic, but i don’t need it to take you down. But i’ll follow you without problem if you lead me to your queen.”

“Okay!!!” said a guard. “We’ll bring you to our Queen.”

The Changelings grabbed Sunlight and headed for the throne room. They arrived at destination half an hour later. Sunlight saw Chrysalis, sat on her throne, looking annoyed.

“Oh, What can bring a little pony inside my hive?” she asked. “I thought your kind had been all cleaned out by that nutcase.”

“I’m here for one reason” said Sunlight. “Your throne!! More precisely, the material it’s made of!”

“So, you’re aware of it’s anti-magic properties” said Chrysalis. “Yes, It’s thanks to that beauty Cosmos doesn’t dare attack us.  Even her magic is useless once she enters our territory. I Also have an armor made of the same stuff, by the way.”

“Think i could borrow that armor?” asked Sunlight. “By the way, i notice your wings are blue instead of black.”

“Yeah, it’s Thori who brought it to my attention” said Chrysalis. “She told me since she got this color, she wasn’t hungry anymore. The key was about sharing love, i think. So, i made friends with Cadance and taught to my subjects to love each other and let’s just say it worked too well...After some times, our wings became like this and our hunger disappeared.”

“So, you had no business stealing love from other creatures anymore” said Sunlight. “If you were friend with Cadance, why didn’t you avenged her when Cosmos got her?”

“She didn’t die” said Chrysalis. “She’s the only one i could save. The shock of her losing her husband, daughter, subjects and Kingdom was too much for her to handle and i cocooned her so she didn’t have to endure the pain. But i’m getting away from the subject...I can lend you my battle armor, but i want a favor first.”

“Please don’t be sex, please don’t be sex” thought Sunlight. “Anything but sex...”

Chrysalis removed her green dress, exposing her sumptuous naked body.

“Fuck!” thought Sunlight. “But damn, she’s hot!!”

Soon, all the hive gathered around him. Sunlight turned his arms into cannons, ready to defend himself.

“I’m not surrendering without a fight” he said. “But i refuse to leave without the armor.”

“Playing hard to get, uh?” said Chrysalis. “Get him, girls!! Pin him down!!”

He turned himself invisible and started looking for the armor. He found it a few moments later and put it on.

“Don’t take it personal, girls!” said Sunlight. “I’ll give it back when this is over!”

He punched a hole through the ceiling with one fist, creating an exit. He took off and flew away from the hive.

“Damn it” said Chrysalis. “For once a male entered our territory...”

“Do we pursue him?” asked Thori.

“He’s already far away now” answered Chrysalis. “Let’s just wait for him to come back”

Sunlight was heading for the Dragonlands. An hour later, he saw the volcanos and knew he was arrived. He landed on the ground and looked for dragons. What was his surprise when he saw that they had all been turned into dogs.

“She already got them” said Sunlight. “Wait, since i have the Changeling queen’s armor, which nullify magic, could i turn them back to normal by getting close to them?”

He headed for the first dog he saw, but nothing happened. Then he grabbed it in his hands, still nothing happened. He put the dog against his chestplate and the spell broke. The dragon looked at himself with joy.

“I’m not a dog anymore!!” said the dragon. “Hourray!! How did you do that?”

“This armor” answered Sunlight. “I stole it from the Changeling Queen, Chrysalis. It nullify magic. When i made you touch it, the spell broke. Okay, let’s bring everyone here!!”

“On it!!” said the dragon.

And so, one after another, the dragons were turned back to normal. After they were all saved...

“It’s good to be back to normal!!” said Garble. “Thanks a lot, man!!”

“I came here to ask for help” said Sunlight. “But seeing what she did to you, i’d prefer not getting you involved again. So i’ll just leave.”

“Wait, asked Ember. Don’t tell me you’re going to fight that creature?”

“Yes, i am” answered Sunlight. “Her reign of terror have lasted long enough. It’s time someone step up and overthrow that tyrant”

On these words, he walked away, his cape floating in the wind. Before taking off, he looked back at the dragons, smiling with his eyes closed. Then, he took off in the air and flew back to the group meeting point. He arrived half an hour later at destination.

“Took you long enough” said Moonlight. “Cool armor, by the way”

“Sorry” said Sunlight. “I had to deal with a problem concerning the dragons, apparently, Cosmos turned them into dogs.”

“What about the Changelings?” asked Sunset.

“They showed some hostility” answered Sunlight. “I was able to defuse the situation and get my hands of the queen’s armor”

“You were supposed to get a shard from her throne!!” said Luna.

“I know” said Sunlight. “But this armor have the same properties than her throne. And i’m pretty much the only one fit to wear it. I can fight without magic and i’m strong enough to move freely with it.”

“So, you’ll be the bait” said Moonlight. “Sunset found where Fluttershy was held hostage”

“Turns out Fluttershy’s part of Cosmos’ body” she said.

“So, first, we’ll have to weaken Cosmos” said Sunlight.

“And when she’s weak” said Moonlight. “I’ll be able to dissociate Fluttershy from Cosmos using one of my spells.”

“And Discord will just have to put an end to this, said Sunlight. But she won’t let us get to her that easily...”

“Right” said Sombra. “Apparently, she revived and brainwashed some villains”

“Nightmare Moon, Daybreaker” said Sunset. “King Sombra, Tirek, Grogar, the Pony of Shadows, Miss Mane-iac, Ahuitxotol, The Sphynx, the Storm King, Nightmare Rarity and Accord. She know we’re coming, brother.”

“We are heavily outnumbered” said Moonlight. “And underpowered as well”

“I don’t see who could help us” said Sunset. “Cosmos turned almost everyone that could help us into stone of defenseless creatures.”

“Then let’s bring our own reinforcement!!” shouted Sunlight. “Discord!! Send the backup team!”

A portal opened, from which Adagio, Aria and Sonata, AKA the Sirens AKA the Dazzlings emerged, In their true form. After them came out Tempest Shadow, Starswirl the Bearded, Starlight Glimmer, Twilight Sparkle, now a tall Alicorn, Stygian and the Pillars of Equestria, Flurry Heart, now a teenager and Shining Armor. Sunset and the others were speechless.

“That ought to even the odds” said Moonlight, smiling.

“I still can’t believe Discord convinced all of us to come with him, said Twilight. The one rule to remember is to avoid fighting with his double. So, as soon as Cosmos is defeated, we’ll be immediately sent back to our universe to avoid causing damages to the fabric of reality. Now, as for the matchups....”

Before she could finish her phrase, Cosmos’ magic transported everyone except Sunlight elsewhere. To fight King Sombra, Cosmos paired Shining Armor and Flurry Heart together. Against Tirek, she assigned the 3 Sirens. To fight Nightmare Moon, Daybreaker and Nightmare Rarity, she selected Tirek, Stygian and Sombra. Against the Storm King, she chose Tempest Shadow and Starlight Glimmer. Against Accord, Sunset Shimmer. Against the Pony of Shadows, she sent Starswirl and the Pillars. Against Miss Mane-Iac, Ahuixothol and the Sphynx, Luna and Twilight Sparkle. Finally, against Grogar, Moonlight and Sunlight.

“Wait. Wait, wait, wait” said Sunlight. “Didn’t i erased that guy from existence throughout the Multiverse? How can he be right in front of me?”

Time stopped around the two and Discord showed up

“Well, yes, but actually, no” said Discord. “Let me explain you something interesting. You see, there is in History beings that play crucial roles in it. They are individuals which the actions shaped the course of History, and that, in every possible universe that exist. When you used Reality Overwrite, a forbidden spell that can erase from Existence and Time one individual, on a Multiversal scale, on Grogar, who is one of those individuals that are crucial to History, you almost caused the end of the Multiverse.”

“What do you mean, almost?” asked Sunlight, trying to keep his cool.

“Because you sacrificed someone else’s life to cast the spell instead of your” answered Discord. “And also because you felt empathy for the individual targetted by the spell. Those two factors contributed to make the spell Reality Overwrite lose so much power that it didn’t even affected Grogar. After everything you’ve been throught to get him to his knees, i just couldn’t allow you to lose. So, i took care of Grogar and locked him inside the deepest pits of Tartarus. "

“Sunset Shimmer” said Sunlight. “She used her psychic powers to share some of her empathy with me...Could she had foreseen this alternative future and tried to prevent it from happening?”

“Definitively” answered Discord. “She’s the true hero!! Oops, sorry...”

“I know” said Sunlight, whose expression changed drastically. “Sunset is a true hero because deep inside, she does it to help others. For me, it’s just to boost my ego. Sunset would give her life to protect everyone, regardless of if they’re friends or not. Me, i would only give my life to save her, and only her. She value Friendship over Violence, i value Violence over Friendship. I’m basically putting on a costume to beat bad guys and call it justice. She’s just better than me in every way...She’s a hero of heart.”

He looked at the sky with an empty stare. Moonlight felt even worse considering he was Sunlight’s darker side.

“I truly shine when i’m working solo” he said. “Teamwork is not my strong suit. I lost track of who i really am deep inside. This robotic body isn’t me, nor are those elemental powers...I’m fire, i’m light, i’m the Sun. I’m not ready yet for a Multiverse Crusade. I’d like to start over, Discord, from the very moment i met her for the first time. My powers have been too irregular since this whole adventure started, but none of them really fitted my personality, who i was.”

“Same for me, said Moonlight. I’ve started as an edgy opposite to Sunlight. From our powers to our personalities...And now, Look at me, you can barely tell we used to be opposites. He’s a robot and i’m a zombie. I’ve even lost my ice and shadow powers. We really drove far away from our roots, uh? Maybe make the two of us two part of a coin in our rebirth.”

“So, you want me to rewrite your history from a certain point, said Discord. And you also want to be reborn with new powers closer to who you really are inside. You have to realize that nobody, not even me, will remember this timeline”

“Well, The author will” said Sunlight. “And i know for sure he will find a way to reunite the 3 of us. One last thing, Make us girls in our next life...

“You’re not wrong” said Discord, writting everything down in a book. “Well, let’s do this...”

He snapped his finger and everything went black. Thus mark the end of this timeline, and the beginning of a new one.
