The Adventure
You wake up to find it's a beautiful autumn morning. You think to yourself, today's the day, today you're heading up to Sweet Apple Acres to pick out some apples.
You grab your saddle bags and head out the door, traveling through the wonderful town of Ponyville. Along the way you see many ponies already awake and out to do their daily shopping, among which you spot a few you recognize, such as Lyra and Bon Bon relaxing on a bench near the town fountain, and also the town mailmare, Derpy, delivering packages.
As you make your way to the Apple Family farm, you take a moment to enjoy the beautiful sight of all the autumn leaves starting to fall, appreciating the many shades of red, orange and yellow the leaves have taken.
Once you arrive, you see many bushels of apples scattered around, you imagine all the cider and sweet treats the Apple's will make with them, making your mouth water and give you ideas for your own baking, which is why you are here, the Apple Family invited you up to the farm so you could pick up as many apples as you need.
There are apples of all shapes, sizes and colors, ranging from deep red to light green. You breathe in the scent of all of them, imagining once again all the things you'll make. You snap out of your day dreaming when you notice Pinkie Pie hopping towards you. Like always, she's a bundle of energy. She says hi, saying she's here to pick out apples to use at Sugar Cube Corner, and starts listing off all the delicious desserts she's planning to make. After finishing her list in one breath, she takes a moment to breathe, and invites you to visit her later to try some of the treats before energetically hopping off.
After spending some time picking out as many apples as you can carry, you decide it's time to leave. As you start to leave, you notice Applejack working hard to rake up the fallen leaves. She uses a hoof to brush some sweat off of her head. You watch her for a moment, knowing it will take forever to get all of the leaves raked into piles, so you decide to offer her some help. Stubborn as ever, Applejack refuses your help, thinking she can handle the monumental task ahead of her. But after a moment, she admits she could use a hoof and accepts your offer.
Time passes quickly as the two of you make piles of leaves, you notice Apple Bloom cannonball into one of the piles sending the leaves everywhere, only to get roped into helping for a bit by Applejack for making a mess.
The sun has already started to go down, but there is still plenty of time in the day. With a lot of ground covered, Applejack gives you a hug for helping, telling you to wait a moment, and runs off towards the barn. Moments later she arrives back with a tall glass of apple cider and gives it to you. This somehow causes Rainbow Dash to come flying in out of nowhere, fixated on the cider you are currently holding. Applejack glares at Rainbow Dash, who gives a nervous laugh as you sip your cider, her mouth open, drooling at the thought of drinking it herself.
After you finish your drink, you wave goodbye to Applejack as you pick up your saddle bags full of apples. Applejack thanks you for the help and heads back to work. Rainbow Dash having already sped off to help with cloud moving when she realized she wasn't going to get any cider. You start heading back to town.
After arriving back into Ponyville, you see Rarity, carrying a bag full of fabric. She waves excitedly at you, and you trot over to greet her. The two of you talk, and she explains that she's already working on her winter formal line. She shows you some of the fabric, blues, whites and grays abound. Your eye catches a roll of sparkly blue fabric, with snowflake-like embellishments. You don't say it out loud, but you can't help but think that it's still autumn and Nightmare Night hasn't even passed yet!
After chatting for a bit, Rarity says she must get back to the Boutique to continue her work and quickly trots off.
You return home and put away the apples, deciding with all this walking around you deserve a break. You light a warm fire and hop onto your cozy chair for a quick nap.
Sometime later, with a big yawn, you wake up. Your eyes go wide as you notice the time. You slept too long and you have to get to Sugar Cube Corner!
Grabbing your scarf, you quickly get ready and run out the door. Galloping as fast as you can, you head towards Sugar Cube Corner, taking in the crisp evening air and trying not to bump into anypony as you go. After a short while, you skid to a halt in front of Sugar Cube Corner right on time, you can already smell so many delicious treats wafting out from the open windows.
As you head up the steps the door opens up and you find Pinkie Pie standing before you with a giant smile on her face, dancing excitedly in place before ushering you inside.
You can't believe your eyes as you gaze upon Sugar Cube Corner, and how nearly every square inch of the storefront is covered in delicious treats. Pie, Cakes, Cookies, Brownies, Ice Cream, the list goes on and on. Everything is made from either apples or pumpkin, you can't help but be inspired by the sight of it all. Pinkie Pie offers you a huge slice of pumpkin pie, piled high with whipped cream and a large cup of hot chocolate, it looks delicious and you thank Pinkie as you dig in!
While you enjoy Pinkie's gift, you watch as other ponies come into the store to buy the newly baked treats, Pinkie excitedly helping each and every one find the perfect treats for them, each of them perfectly satisfied with their purchases.
After a while, you finish your pie and hot chocolate, having enjoyed it thoroughly. Pinkie trots over to you and offers you more treats, and although you're getting rather full, you'd hate to refuse Pinkie's generous offer, so you smile and accept, taking your time to try each and every one until it feels like you're going to burst. After you finish, Pinkie sees your expression and giggles, apologizing for overdoing it. She offers that you come by another time to try more, but promises not to over do it again.
With a huge smile, a belly full of treats and plenty of ideas for future baking, you once again thank Pinkie and leave.
You can’t help but recall the wonderful time you've had today as you happily trot home under Luna's beautiful night sky. Autumn is almost over and Winter will inevitably take its place, but you'll never forget this Autumn day in Ponyville.
