> Late Night Snack > by Alpha Wolf 4500 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Don't touch Chad's food > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a late night in ponyville and all of the residents were sleeping. Inside the golden oaks library, Spike was sleeping soundly in his bed before being woken up by the feeling of stomach growling. He woke up and held his stomach. Sitting up, he looked at Twilight’s bed and Bandit’s bed. Both of them were completely asleep, not just them, but Klaw, Fang, Owlowlicous and Achilles. “I’m sure they won’t mind if I grab a late night snack.” Spike said as he got out of bed. He began to walk towards the stairs and slowly walking down. He did his best to try and not make a sound, but since this was him moving at night time, everything sounded 100x louder than normal. He took one step, heard a creek and quickly flinched back. He did it again, this time there was silence. He took the next step, he heard a creek. He panicked and stepped back, hearing a creek on the previous step, making him panic and jump back onto his original spot on the top of the stairs. He looked back at Bandit and saw him shuffle in his sleep. He looked at Twilight and she was so out of it that she was nearly about to snore. “Why is everything so much louder at night?” Spike silently complained as he continued to make his attempt in going down the stairs. After a rather loud downstairs trip down the somehow creeky stairs, Spike walked over to the kitchen and went straight to the fridge. As he opened the fridge, he saw a pie container and smiled. He reached for it and sniffed it, taking in the whiff he knew what was inside. A freshly refrigerated key-lime pie. He had already had some during dinner time yesterday, and he was in the mood for more. As he looked at the box and turned around, he say a note on the pie container. He took the note and started reading it. “Dear Spike, It’s Chad here. During dinner you already had your half of the key lime pie. You were also there when I told Bandit that I would like to save my half of this delicious, succulent treat for breakfast tomorrow. You’ve already had you’re fill of this pie, so do yourself and myself a favor and please put the pie back in the fridge and go back to sleep. Sincerely, Chad. P.S: I know you well enough to know that you’re reading this late at night, so I took the liberty of placing apples in plain view for your late night snack. You’re also probably gonna say, ‘How the heck did he know that?’.” Spike read. “How the heck did he-” He quickly stopped so as to not let Chad win. He looked towards the fridge and saw the apples. He tossed away the note and closed the fridge. Walking over to the table, he placed the container down and looked back at the note. “I didn’t wake up in the mood for apples. Spike wants Key lime pie, Spike gets key lime pie.” Spike said as he stuck his tongue out on the note. Sitting at the table he began to slowly open the container, doing his best to keep the noise to a minimum. Once again, the laws of night time noise whilst trying to be quiet were only on his side because everyone in the tree was too deep in their sleep to hear or care. It took him a couple of tries, due to his paranoia of waking the others in the home he kept stopping in order to check his surroundings as a just in case. As he opened it, there was another note on top of the pie as well as a message written in sharpie on the bottom of the empty half of the pie container. ‘Go away! You ate your half already!’ The note said. Clearly written by Chad. Spike ignored it and grabbed the note on top of the pie. “Dear Spike, you ignored my first note. But, I won’t fault you for that. I understand how hard it is for you to take those kind of things seriously, considering you’re not exactly known for catching a hint.” Spike read, he double taked at that. “Did-....did he just call me dumb?” Spike asked before looking back at the note. “Placed here as a just in case you double taked at that statement. Yes. I am in fact, calling you dumb. So, I’m going to give you one last warning to put the pie back and we won’t have any problems. Sincerely, your brother, Chad. P.S: Don’t eat my half of the pie.” Spike tossed the note away, ignoring yet another warning and rubbed his claws. He then walked over to the cabinet and grabbed a neckerchief for his neck, a butterknife and a fork. He sat back at the table and looked at the Key-lime Pie. “At last, it is just you and me.” Spike said as he cut out a piece and picked it up with a fork. He ate the piece, chewing and taking in the delicious taste. That was until he began to taste paper. He put the fork down and reached into his mouth, pulling out yet another note. This one was hidden in the pie. “Dear Spike. Okay, since notes aren’t your thing. I decided to go with a much more direct approach. I tried to be nice, giving you warnings a’plenty, leaving you alternative snacks, some random third option that’s here because the author of this story needs some extra words in order to meet the minimum word count, but I am officially done with being nice. I am currently at the bottom of the stairs to my room, and rapidly approaching your location. Sincerely, Chad. P.S: Start running.” Spike read. He heard hoofsteps approaching rapidly He turned to the entrance to the kitchen and saw a pair of purple eyes.
