Prologue: What Really Happened After The Summer Sun Celebration
Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Chrysalis were laughing as they were walking back to Grogar’s cave.
“That was so fun.” Cozy Glow beamed.
“Yes it has been a while since we left this cave, hasn’t it.” Tirek smirked at his partner.
“Yes but now that we have the book about the bell we can now use the bell and disarm Grogar.” Chrysalis said.
“Um guys.” Cozy Glow nudged her partners before pointing her hoof at something that frightened her to her very core.
Grogar was wearing his bell around his neck smirking at the trio.
“U-Um hello Grogar fancy meeting you here.” Tirek smiled sheepishly.
“Yes. It has been a while since you’ve been around.” Chrysalis gulped with a nervous smile of her own.
Grogar, still smirking blasts the book in Tirek’s claws and makes the centaur gasp in fear.
“I was always aware about your attempt to betray me, and as pathetic as it was it was admirable at best.” Grogar frowned in anger.
“Please don’t hurt us Grogar, we won’t try this stunt again.” Cozy Glow begged.
“Oh I know you won’t because if you do, I will not hesitate to destroy you!” Grogar said angrily.
“Wait, how did you know about our attempts to betray you?” Chrysalis asked raising an eyebrow.
“Why I used my orb after you went to Mount Everhoof and learned all about your plot.” Grogar smirked “Then I pretended to leave so you would all follow through with your own plans while I searched for my bell. And once I found it I used my orb to see what you did and it gave me an idea.”
“You know about the plot you used to turn ponies against each other well it gave me an idea.” Grogar said before laughing evilly.
The Villains’ Plot and Preparing For The Coronation(The Ending Of The End Part 1)
The episode begins with a yellow unicorn stallion with a bushy blue mane in a baker’s outfit walking through the path to Canterlot when a green unicorn mare with an orange mane came out from behind a tree speaking “Hey my unicorn friend, have you heard?”
“About Princess Twilight’s Coronation, who hasn’t, I’m on my way now so much baking to do and-.” The yellow unicorn said happily.
“No no, about the Earth Ponies.” The green unicorn whispered into the yellow one’s ear.
“I know their crops have been underperforming but-“ The yellow unicorn began before the green one interrupted him. “No it’s not that, they’re hoarding all the food.”
The mare then continued “I heard the mayor of Appleloosa say that if unicorns want to eat, they can use their own hooves food to dig.”
“How awful.” The yellow stallion said angrily.
“We unicorns need to stick together especially since the Pegasi are causing strife as well.” The green unicorn mare said solemnly making the yellow unicorn stallion nod before walking off to Canterlot.
Soon the green unicorn began chuckling evilly as she saw the baker snub Mrs. Cake.
We then see the green unicorn at Grogar’s cave with Cozy Glow washing yellow paint of her in the water while Tirek was sitting at the rock table.
“Ah, Chrysalis another successful field trip I presume.” Tirek smirked.
“Turning the Earth Ponies and Unicorns against each other was almost too easy.” Chrysalis nodded.
“I did my job freaking out the Pegasi, but now I need to wash this disguise off.” Cozy Glow informed her partners.
“Excellent work minions.” Grogar smirked as he walked over to the Legion Of Doom. Chrysalis silently snarled at being called a minion but knew Grogar would punish her for defiance so she shut up. “We could take down Twilight and her friends a hundred times but as long as they still have the love of friendship by their side, they’ll never quit.” Grogar said “Soon we will attack Equestria and you will all have your own lands but to succeed we must work together.”
“Of course I think we figured that out already.” Chrysalis smirked.
“Don’t tempt me Chrysalis.” Grogar seethed before regaining his malicious smirk “It is now time to give each of you three a fraction of my power.”
Soon Grogar readied his horns and his bell was activated, Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Chrysalis got gleams in their eyes as the bell blasted them but something was different about them.
Tirek was now in his third form. Chrysalis’ crown glowed a light green, Cozy Glow now had bigger wings and an alicorn horn.
Soon all four villains began laughing maniacally.
Soon we see the inside of the Canterlot Castle where Twilight, Spike, Celestia, and Luna were.
Twilight was currently sitting on her new throne, while Spike was using a ruler on her head to make sure if the crown would fit on her or not while Celestia and Luna were watching.
“Oh sister this is a very special day.” Luna said happily.
“Yes Twilight is all grown up.” Celestia said with tears of joy.
“Should we tell her that we cleared out our Royal Suite so she and Spike could move in?” Luna asked.
“Oh let’s not do that yet, Twilight doesn’t need anything else to worry about.” Celestia told Luna.
We soon see Spike finishing with measuring Twilight’s head.
“You worried?” Spike asked, concerned.
“About what?” Twilight asked, smiling.
“Well for one about leaving Ponyville and our friends?” Spike said “I’m really gonna miss them Twilight, aren’t you?”
“Of course I’ll miss them Spike but I can always visit them anytime.” Twilight said.
“Okay but are you worried about ruling Equestria with your friends’ help?” Spike asked.
“Actually I feel pretty good, We've all faced so much and come out okay. I know we're up to the challenge of keeping Equestria safe and happy. There's nothing we can't handle together. Which reminds me...” Twilight said happily before using her horn to levitate a red box to Spike. Spike then opened it to reveal a golden necklace “Royal Advisor, what’s that?”
“A new position I created for you. You've been at my side for every step of this journey. Knowing I had you to count on gave me the strength I needed to grow and succeed. I wouldn't be here without you.” Twilight said smiling at Spike who teared up with tears of joy before hugging Twilight.
“Thanks Twilight, I’ll always be your right hoof dragon.” Spike wipes away his tears with a smile.
“You’re welcome Spike, we should probably get done these errands though.” Twilight said levitating a list over to Spike.
We then see that Canterlot looks empty while Fluttershy and Rarity were walking on the road.
“That’s odd, the streets seem very empty today.” Rarity raises an eyebrow.
“Yes it does seem a bit strange.” Fluttershy nodded.
Rarity immediately brightened up when she saw Twilight and Spike flying over to them “Ooh! Twilight, darling! You're just in time. Only one more pre-coronation stop. We're picking up the final touch for your apres-hors d'oevres gown... “Is that before or after the royal marshmallow-eating-contest gown?” Twilight joked.
“What?! I haven't made one of those! You must tell me when they add these sorts of things!” Rarity began to panic before writing something down on a scroll with a quill.
Twilight then lowers the scroll before speaking “Whoa Rarity relax I was just joking.”
“Joking on the day of the Coronation, you’ve come a long way.” Spike smirked from mid-air making Twilight giggle.
Soon the three ponies and the dragon made it to the thread shop when Rarity tried to open the door with her magic.
“Well that’s odd, they seem open.” Rarity said before tugging on the door.
Soon we see Lemon Drops from the door window “What do you want?”
“Oh. Well, this being a thread shop, I thought I might buy a yellow thread?” Rarity smiles nervously.
“Put the bits in the mail slot.” Lemon Hearts glared at the four visitors outside.
Rarity soon took the boys out of her saddlebags and put them in the mail slot like Lemon Hearts asked before Lemon Hearts levitated the yellow roll of thread.
“What was that about?” Twilight asked, raising an eyebrow.
“You know designers. Don't like being interrupted when they're on a creative roll. With thread this exquisite, can you blame them?” Rarity reassures Twilight with a smile.
“Weather for the coronation is sunny skies!” Rainbow Dash said, moving one last cloud before flying down to Twilight, Spike, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie “It was weird, though. Not many Pegasi wanted to help me clear the clouds. They were kinda on edge.”
We then see a grey unicorn keeping a watchful eye out before he runs fearfully into his house which the group saw.
“They’re not the only ones.” Spike said solemnly.
“It's the first shift in royal power in over a millenium. Of course everypony is a little jumpy. Change does that.” Rarity said.
Twilight lowered her head at this before Fluttershy picked it back up with her hoof “But I'm sure it's not because they're worried about you.” She said comfortingly.
“How could they be? How many times have you saved their flanks by now?” Rainbow Dash asked smugly.
“You're right. I'll just have to let everypony know that even with Celestia and Luna gone, we'll make sure things stay the same.” Twilight said happily.
Soon we see Applejack hauling apples from the back of a cart with a black unicorn guard glaring at her, making her uncomfortable.
“Twilight! There you are!” Applejack said happily while walking over to her friend “You mind tellin' your friend here that I don't need an official guard wherever I go? Especially if he ain't gonna help carry apples?”
“I appreciate you taking such good care of my friends, but we're fine now.” Twilight smiled at the guard.
“It was the strangest thing. He kept callin' me ‘ Earth Pony’ like I didn't have a name. And watchin' me like he thought I'd steal the silver!” Applejack said suspiciously.
Soon the kitchen door opened with Pinkie Pie running out with cupcakes all over her.
“Do not go in that kitchen!” Pinkie Pie warned her friends “For some reason, the bakers are super grouchy with each other. That unicorn chef started throwing dessert at Mrs. Cake! I tried to help, but I got caught in the crossfire!“
“You sure this is just pre-coronation nerves?” Twilight asked nervously.
Soon Discord teleports in with a worried frown “It’s worse than pre-coronation nerves, apparently the Earth Ponies, Pegasi, and Unicorns have turned against each other, the Unicorns are accused of being too snobbish, the Pegasi are accused of not stopping storms sooner, and Earth Ponies are accused of hoarding food.”
“And you’re just telling us this now.” Rainbow Dash said, annoyed.
“This has only been happening recently so don’t blame me.” Discord said.
“If Discord’s right, we need to do something about this.” Fluttershy said fearfully.
“But the coronation is about to start soon.” Rarity said.
“Look I’ll clarify that these rumors are not true at the ceremony and I’ll alert Celestia and Luna so we can do something about this.” Twilight explained.
We then see Celestia and Luna walking down the castle halls when Luna begins shuddering “I feel a sense of impending doom.”
“For some reason so do I Luna.” Celestia said fearfully before both of their eyes glowed white and they began to have a vision.
“It is time to discuss a plan on how to take down Twilight and her friends.” Grogar smirked to Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Chrysalis.
Celestia and Luna’s eyes returned to normal and Celestia began speaking “Did you just have a vision of Grogar?”
“I did he was also with Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow.” Luna nodded.
“We must warn Twilight and her friends immediately.” Celestia said fearfully.
Soon we see the Mane 6, Spike, and Discord outside the castle when Spike burped out a letter.
“It’s from Princess Celestia and there’s an emergency.” Spike widened his eyes.
“Let’s run.” Rainbow Dash began running before Discord rolled his eyes and snapped his fingers which sent him and the others to the throne room making Rainbow Dash run into the stairs.
“Will you warn me before you do that?” Rainbow Dash asked, annoyed.
Discord smirked before Celestia began speaking.
“Thank you all for coming, we have urgent news.” Celestia said in a worried tone.
“Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow have teamed up along with Grogar to take over Equestria.” Luna explained.
“What?!” The Mane 6 cried out in shock.
“Wait isn’t Grogar an old pony’s tale?” Spike asked.
“Oh but he is all too real Spike. And he is about to show up to Canterlot along with our past enemies.” Luna said.
“Twilight, Luna, we need to make a plan. Maybe it's not too late to stop this disaster from happening!” Celestia instructed her fellow princesses.
Twilight nodded firmly before speaking to Spike “Spike! Send a letter to Star Swirl! Tell him we need the Pillars to guard the border of Canterlot!”
Twilight’s voice was heard as Starswirl got his letter “If the villains are coming for a fight, we'll have one waiting for them! With Chrysalis on the loose, she'll go after Starlight She needs to evacuate the school, and go into hiding!”
Starlight and Trixie were seen receiving a letter at Starlight’s office and gasped in shock
“Warn Cadence and Shining Armor they’re our final line of defense if we fail!”
Cadence and Shining Armor are seen reading the note in their throne room.
“The ultimate battle for the fate of Equestria is coming!” Twilight said with a determined frown.
We first see Starswirl looking at the telescope and he then looked to his fellow Pillars and Stygian.
“Ready yourselves friends, those villains could show up any time now.” Starswirl said sternly.
“Of course Starswirl we’re be prepared for their arrival.” Sonambula nodded.
Soon Starswirl caught sight of Tirek on a rock pillar before he jumped down to the Pillar’s level.
“Well if it isn’t the one who turned my brother against me. Starswirl The Bearded. How long has it been?” Tirek smirked.
“Scorpan did not betray you, your arrogance made you blind to how good it feels to actually care about others.” Starswirl argued angrily.
“Regardless, I came to have a refill of power so I’ll be taking that now, thank you.” Tirek began using his magic to blast the Pillars separating them.
Soon Meadowbrook put on her mask and charged at Tirek knocking him back a bit but soon he charged back at Meadowbrook making her fall over, before he could take her magic Flash Magnus and Sonambula began flying near his face blocking his vision which annoyed him greatly so he zapped the two Pegasi and sent them hurtling to the ground piling on Meadowbrook.
Mistmane soon began to blast Tirek but he blocked it with his arm before Rockhoof tackled Tirek while he was off guard.
It was a big struggle but Tirek overpowered Rockhoof and picked him up to throw him at Mistmane causing them both to fall in the pile as well.
Soon the five Pillars were drained of their magic by Tirek, Starswirl finally regained his consciousness to see Tirek absorbing his friends’ magic and soon he finished licking his lips in satisfaction.
Starswirl knew he was the Pillar’s only hope and began charging up his horn for a powerful blast which caused Tirek to fall to the ground and soon Tirek launched a powerful blast of his own which Starswirl countered with some magic of his own they were in a heated laser battle, they were equally matched but soon Tirek slowly got the upper hand and overpowered Starswirl sending him to the ground and finally absorbed his magic.
“Hmm, the perfect dessert to a legendary meal.” Tirek smirked.
Grogar soon teleported next to Tirek, “Excellent work Tirek, now to take care of these Pillars.”
Grogar then teleported the pillars away which made Tirek raise an eyebrow, “Where’d you take them?”
“Somewhere where they won’t be bothering us anytime soon.” Grogar smirked.
Soon we cut to Starlight, Trixie, and Sunburst evacuating the students underground.
“Stay with your buddies and keep yourselves hidden.” Starlight instructed everyone.
Soon we hear a voice that had haunted Starlight, “Starlight, Star Bright, where’s the pony I want to fight.” Chrysalis sang from outside.
Starlight soon sighed, “I have to go, think you two can handle the escape for me?”
“Nopony can do a better escape than the Great and Powerful Trixie.” Trixie reassured her.
“But we’re more worried about you, Chrysalis is really powerful Starlight.” Sunburst said.
“Please tell us you’ll make it.” Trixie told her friend.
Starlight sighed, “I don’t know if I will make it guys, but no matter what happens you two will always be some of the best friends I could ask for.” She then put Sunburst and Trixie in a group hug.
“If I don’t make it, you two look out for each other okay.” Starlight said.
Trixie and Sunburst both nodded.
“Good, now I gotta go.” Starlight said in tears before Trixie and Sunburst closed the underground doorway. Starlight wiped her tears off and gained a determined expression before she teleported to the school roof to face Chrysalis.
“Ah, Just the Headmare I wanted to see.” Chrysalis smirked.
“You didn’t make an appointment.” Starlight growled before lunging at Chrysalis and teleporting them both away to mountains of snow.
“Where are we?!” Chrysalis commanded.
“Someplace you can’t hurt anypony.” Starlight said angrily.
“Wrong! I can hurt you!” Chrysalis said angrily before jumping to tackle Starlight before the latter teleported away.
Starlight then teleported to the top of a mountain and blasted Chrysalis from behind angering the unreformed changeling which made her try to blast Starlight but she teleported to underneath a snowy mountain.
“You’ll pay for that!” Chrysalis seethed.
“Put it on my tab.” Starlight smirked before teleporting to the air where she blasted the top of the snowy mountain and caused an avalanche causing Chrysalis to be crushed in snow.
Starlight looked on in remorse and sighed in disappointment, “I wish I could’ve helped you, I’m sorry Chrysalis.”
Starlight soon began to light up her horn when she saw a green light and realized Chrysalis was about to break out of the snow, so she acted fast and teleported away from the snowy mountain.
Chrysalis soon broke free from the snow and looked for any signs of Starlight.
“Where is that unicorn?!” Chrysalis asked incredulously before sighing in anger.
“No matter, I will eventually get my revenge on that menace but for now I need to meet the others at Canterlot.” Chrysalis grumbled before teleporting away from the mountains.
We then cut to Twilight flying near the throne while we see Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Spike, Celestia, Luna, Discord, and the guards listening to her.
“We faced many enemies before and always prevailed, that wouldn’t be possible without all of you.” Twilight said, “But now three of our most dangerous villains have returned along with Grogar himself, I know things seem bad but as long as we stick together no pony can take us down.”
“OH COME ON!” A childlike voice was heard before some guards were seen on a pile which Cozy Glow levitated over as she flew.
“Where’d you get that; a daily friendship lesson, yeeesh.” Cozy Glow rolled her eyes.
“Cozy Glow?!” Twilight asked incredulously.
“We’re about to wipe the floor with you.” Cozy Glow said as he blasted Discord onto Twilight’s throne.
“Oof, Grogar’s magic does pack a punch.” Discord groaned before standing in defiance, “But I won’t be standing down anytime soon.”
“Hmph, stubborn are we. That’ll change very soon.” Cozy Glow smirked before firing a laser at the guards knocking them out.
Celestia and Luna soon flew over to Cozy Glow with glares before igniting their horns together to create a powerful blast which Cozy Glow dodged.
Rainbow Dash soon flew past Cozy Glow in lightning speed making the filly dizzy.
She soon came face to face with Pinkie Pie holding a party cannon who was levitated by Rarity.
Pinkie soon blasted the party cannon in Cozy’s face making her cough a bit.
“Fly my pretties.” Fluttershy said as she directed a bunch of geese to attack Cozy Glow which she blasted in anger.
Applejack then lassoed her to the ground making everyone in the room surround her.
Cozy Glow seethed in anger before using her horn to use a laser to blast everyone away.
Soon she saw a bright flash of light and knew who was here.
Soon a burst of magic penetrated the stain glass window breaking it.
Soon Tirek, Chrysalis, and Grogar jumped in making Twilight summon a shield to protect her friends.
“You think that pathetic shield can stop us, Princess.” Grogar smirked, “The Pillars have been overpowered, your school is abandoned, face it Twilight you’ve lost.”
“You can attack us and we may fall but Equestria will still stand, united in friendship and harmony, and we won’t stop no matter if you take us down.” Twilight said angrily.
Grogar soon laughed at this speech as well as the trio of villains.
“Didn’t you all notice something was wrong?” Grogar asked with a smirk, “We’ve been busy.”
“A whisper here, a rumor there.” Chrysalis began.
“Destroyed some crops, caused some damage.” Tirek continued.
“Turn pony against pony.” Cozy Glow finished.
“Until the whole kingdom is at edge, waiting for just one tiny thing to push them over the edge.” Grogar explained, “There’s no backup ponies or rainbow magic to save you now!”
Grogar soon got a devious idea in mind, “You know what’s stronger than friendship Twilght?”
Grogar then pounced on her alicorn shield hard, “FEAR!”
Twilight’s barrier soon collapsed as she screamed in horror.
“Because when you have to protect yourself you don’t have time for anypony else!” Grogar levitated Twilight towards her before preparing a finishing blow which shocked Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow a bit, while they hated Twilight they never exactly pulled a stunt like this before.
Soon a blast of magic got in Grogar’s eyes making him drop Twilight.
Twilight looked over to see Discord blowing on his finger with a smirk.
“Attack!” Grogar commanded the trio. Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow recovering from their shock at what Grogar almost did, soon began their assault on Twilight and her friends but everyone soon began attacking except Twilight and Spike.
Cozy Glow was currently in a laser match with Rarity, Applejack currently lassoed Chrysalis while Pinkie Pie was on her Bach Rainbow Dash has Grogar in a headlock, and she was struggling to keep hold of him as well while Celestia, and Luna were also stalling Tirek. Discord soon grabbed Twilight and Spike and lead them out of the throne room.
“Twilight go get help with Spike, we’ll hold them off until you get back.” Discord commanded.
“No we can’t leave you all here.” Twilight refused.
“It’s our only chance. You’ll find someway to save us.” Discord said, “I believe in you and I know they do too.”
“But it’s too dangerous and...” Twilight said Before Spike grabbed onto her hoof.
“Twilight let’s go, I got your back. Plus I think they’ll be fine. They’ve all survived stuff like this before.” Spike reassured her.
“Okay, I’ll go. Discord take care of our friends.” Twilight said.
“I promise.” Discord nodded before Twilight used her magic to teleport both her and Spike away.
Soon Discord went back in the throne room to see Grogar, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow have sent Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash to the ground with Celestia and Luna looking defiant horns flared up.
“Give up already we’ve already defeated your Elements Of Harmony so just surrender.” Grogar commanded.
Discord looked at how much pain his friends were in, and saw that they were outnumbered and overpowered. He only knew one thing he could do to protect everyone around him.
Discord soon snapped his fingers and in a bright light and teleported them away from the castle.
“Wh-Where did they go?!” Chrysalis asked incredulously.
“Ugh that Draconequus is so irritating.” Tirek growled.
“Well he must’ve realized they were outmatched, I commend his resourcefulness but it’s time we start claiming our territory starting here!” Grogar said before igniting his bell and the castle began to change, it soon began to rebuild and turned dark blue with some black edges.
“The Evolution of Grogar’s Empire has begun.” Grogar smirked.
