Sunset believes that she doesn't deserve love, but someone close to her disagrees

Even after helping the Rainbooms beat the Dazzlings, most of the students kept their distance from Sunset Shimmer not believing that she is capable of being good. What nobody knows is that there is someone who knows otherwise and that she has come back to return the favor.

Love in the rain

View Online

Looking out across the scenery from the outdoor café Sunrise Shimmer, or Sunny to her friends, couldn't contain the smile that spread across her face as she reminiscenced the day she fell in love.

"Sigh. I just wish I got her name at least." Sunny mused, dressed in a orange colored sequin dress with her red and yellow hair done in a princess cut. It was four months ago as Sunny was walking home from work when she was suddenly pulled and pressed against a wall in a alley way with a knife pressed against her throat as the mugger demanded Sunny's purse when her savior appeared.

"Hey ugly!" Someone shouted at the mouth of the alley chucking a tin can at the mugger hitting him in the head catching both their attention. Standing there was someone who, if they didn't know Sunny, would believe to be Sunny's younger twin sister as she charged forwards wielding an aluminum bat. The mysterious stranger looked exactly like Sunny to a tee, the only difference between the two was the slightly shorter girl was wearing a midnight black leather jacket and faded blue jeans that looked like they were about to fall apart at a moment's notice.

"URGH!!!!! YOU LITTLE BI--" the mugger cursed as Sunny's savior hit him in the family jewels in a upswing following up with a blow to the head.

As her captor fell to the ground unconscious and in pain Sunny quickly stood up turning to the girl who saved her only for the girl in question to already disappearing across the corner. Running as fast as her legs could go, Sunny reached the entrance only to no longer see her savior anywhere nearby.

"I didn't even get her name." Sunny muttered sadly as she went on her way, paying for her meal, as thunder cracked through the sky. Looking up Sunny saw dark clouds starting to gather for the afternoon rain.

"Can you believe this bitch trying to act all nice and repentant?" A voice sneered, catching her attention.

"Stupid demon!" A second voice shouted followed by a meaty thwack. "If you're that desperate for forgiveness then why don't you get on your knees and beg for it!! Hahaha!!!!"

Running across the street regardless of traffic, Sunrise turned the corner of a nearby bakery she usually visits, she found her savior on the ground bawling her eyes out begging for the two school kids to stop as she presses her back against the wall and shielding her face.

"P-please f-fo- hic forgive me!!!" The girl cried clenching her eyes shut as tears cascaded down her face.

Thwack!!!!!!!!

The first one who has snow white hair kicked Sunny's savior harshly getting a pained cry in return.

"I think the demon said to do it again Gilda." The other said in a deep voice as he held his phone most likely recording the beating.

"Ya think so, Bulk?" Gilda asked with a innocent smile that even a blind man could tell was anything but.

After kicking the girl once more Gilda grabbed the downed girl by her hair pulling harshly until she was at eye level with Gilda.

Unwilling to let anymore harm come to her savior Sunny ran forwards the duo from behind kicking the one called Bulk in the pearls with all her strength internally thanking her karate master for the lessons.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Bulk cried in high soprano shattering every glass in half the city simultaneously into microscopic pieces.

"Why?" He asked turning his head to look at Sunrise as his eyes started to roll up his head one at a time. "Why do girls always go for the freaking balls?!" As he fell down unconscious curling up into the fetal position as Gilda and her victim cringed in sympathy.

"Let her go unless you want to join your friend." Sunrise demanded looking straight at Gilda in a voice that promised pain if she refused.

"Tch. Fine the demon's all yours." Gilda relented throwing the girl to Sunrise as she walked passed them. Grabbing Bulk's arm and slinging him onto her back leaving without another word.

Once Gilda was gone Sunrise looked down to the girl, who looked exactly like her, just as she fell unconscious from her wounds. Picking her up bridal style Sunrise once more made their way to her home.

Opening her bedroom door Sunny gently placed the girl down on her bed before making her way to the bathroom getting the first aid kit.

"Ugh. Did somebody get the number of the bus that ran me over." The girl mused as she tried to sit up as Sunrise pushed her back down.

"Easy!! You're safe now." Sunrise told the girl next to her as she tended to the cut on her forehead. "My name's Sunrise Shimmer but my friends call me Sunny."

"Thanks for rescuing me Sunny, my name's Sunset beautif-" Sunset shyly thanked her rescuer only to go wide eyed at who rescued her.

"Shimmer, my name's Sunset Shimmer." Sunset squeaked as a blush consumed her face at almost calling her rescuer beautiful, wishing that her little mistake went unnoticed.

But by Sunny's own blush Sunset's wish went unfulfilled.

"I'm so-"

"Don't be. No one's called me beautiful before." Sunny interrupted as a small smile crept onto her face. "Besides if anyone's beautiful here then it's the angel in my bed that rescued me a few months ago."

"I'm no angel." Sunset denied looking away from Sunny as tears threatened to come back with avengence. "All I am is a monster."

Cupping Sunset's face with her palm, Sunny gently turned Sunset's face towards her as she caught the girl in a deep liplock.

""You are too an angel, Sunset. Because only an angel owns my heart." Sunny said kissing all over Sunset's face lapping up her tears before they could cause her love anymore pain. "You're my angel. Ever since you saved me all those months ago."

Holding Sunset close as she gently laid on top of her, Sunny brought their faces together slowly as she deeply kissed Sunset. "So please, don't call yourself a monster anymore okay?".

Kissing Sunny once more, Sunset allowed a real smile come to her face in what felt like months. For the first time in her life Sunset Shimmer finally knew where she belonged. Inside the arms of this beautiful woman who rescued her from her darkness.

One year later would find Sunset waiting at the alter dressed in a tuxedo watching her own angel Sunrise walking towards her in a wedding dress.
