> The luck in our stars. > by KingSombraTheTyrantRuler > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Night > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- King Sombra’s P.O.V: The night was such a beautiful thing. Nothing gave me more peace than standing on my balcony and looking at the night sky.  This evening Celestia sent me a letter, requesting my royal presence in Canterlot, to talk about how I was ruling my empire. I only accepted to go, so that I could see what the Princess Of The Night looked like. I looked in the mirror one last time to make sure that I looked tidy enough, and then teleported to Canterlot. The guards opened the gates and let me in. One guard took me to Celestia's throne room and bowed. Then, he left. Celestia and Luna were there.  Celestia asked, "King Sombra. May I ask what took you SO long to arrive?" I replied, "I was busy admiring the beauty of the night sky." Luna blushed at my words. Celestia continued, "As I said in my letter, I have asked you to come here to discuss the way you rule your empire." I asked, "What about it? The way I rule my empire is fine." Celestia almost screamed, "No it is NOT fine. You overwork your ponies. Last time I sent a guard there, he came back saying that you make your ponies work twenty hours a day, and they only get four hours of rest." Luna said, "I don't believe that King Sombra would do such a heartless thing to his ponies." Celestia said, "You heard the report with your own ears, Luna. He DOES do those things to his ponies."  Turning to me she said, "I hope you won't mind Luna. She's still very young and inexperienced." I was shocked that anypony would say that about their sister.  "And if I do," I started, "make my subjects work twenty hours a day, it's MY empire. You should be concerned about your way of ruling things. Some ponies in the street have no food, while you sit on your throne and eat all the food you want. Have you done anything to help those ponies? No, you haven't." I breathed and continued, "In my empire, I might overwork my ponies, but I make sure that each of them has food, houses, and things that anypony would need. If you asked them about me, they would tell you that I am the best king that they've had in a thousand years." Celestia's face took on an angry expression. "You may leave now, Sombra." Just to make her angrier, I said, "Fine. The only reason why I came here was to see a beautiful pony." I could’ve sworn that I saw steam coming out of Celestia’s ears.  I smirked at her,  kissed Luna's hoof, and then teleported to my castle. I was on my balcony, looking at the stars when I heard the sound of somepony landing.  I turned around ready to fight, when I saw Luna. I bowed and said, “Princess Luna? Shouldn’t you be in Canterlot?” She replied, “I should, but I snuck out to see you.” “To see me? What interest would a beautiful mare such as yourself, have in a King Of Monsters, like me?” She blushed and said, “You flatter me so, but think too little of yourself. While you were talking to Celestia, I saw how polite and sharp-eyed you are.” “Is she still angry?” “Yes she is. You should’ve seen her. After you left, she broke her teacup!” I laughed. “It would’ve been funny to see a fully angered Celestia!” Luna laughed. Her laugh was like music to my ears. It was the most beautiful sound that I had ever heard. “Is it true you were late because you were looking at the sky?” I replied, “Yes, it is. The night sky has always managed to capture my interest. With all its stars, and designs it’s hard to look away.” Luna blushed again and asked, “In Canterlot, when you said you only came to see a beautiful mare, who were you referring to?” “Dear Princess Of The Night, I was talking about you.” I wondered how many times I would see her blush tonight. She said, “I find no need for you to call me Princess, when you appreciate my nights. I shall give you the honor of calling me, Luna.” “Luna. You have such a beautiful name. You  may call me Sombra.” When the clock struck four, my beautiful princess flew away hoping to see me again. And as hard as it is to believe, I hoped to meet her again. I called after her, “I hope too, that we may cross paths again.” > Lovestruck? > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After she left, I was still thinking about her. How her mane looked as if it had stars in it. How beautiful her voice sounded. How her scent was of flowers, and how she was so beautiful. I decided it was time that I caught up with my sleep, and went into my bedroom. Taking my armor off, I was still thinking about her. As the sun rose, ponies blinked away their sleep and started mining. I was still thinking about The Night Princess. I shook my head. It was silly to be thinking of one pony all day. I put my armor, cape and crown on, and then after brushing my mane and doing morning things, I went to my throne room. I listened to everyponies problems, solved it, and then a pony came in. He bowed and said, “My King, food is low.” “What do you mean ‘food is low’?” The pony explained, “My king, food is running out. The ponies have been too busy mining to be able to grow any food.” I asked my  courtier, “What do you suggest I do?” He answered, “My King, since there are many crystals in this empire, we could trade crystals with Equestria for food.” “A very wise suggestion.” I said to the pony, “I’ll write a letter to Celestia and the problem will be solved.” The pony bowed and left. I used my magic to get a piece of parchment and a quill, and began writing.  “To Princess Celestia. I know the last time we met, it didn’t end well. But my empire is running out of food, and I have a proposal. It is- since the Crystal Empire has many crystals, I could trade crystals with Equestria for food? Signed, King Sombra.” I gave the letter to my courtier and asked him, “You think this looks fine?” He said, “Yes, my King. Shall I send it?” “Go ahead.” After Lightning Hooves flew off to deliver the letter, I leaned back on my throne. I hoped Celestia wouldn’t be too angry about yesterday. It was funny, seeing her angry, but now I had to wait and find out if she would accept or decline my proposal. And if she declined, I don’t know what I would do. I could eat crystals, but the other ponies couldn’t. So I waited. And waited. And waited… I was bored of waiting and was about to start cursing when Lightning Hooves arrived.  I asked him, “What did she say? Did she accept?” Lightning bowed and said, “My king, the Princess said she would accept it on one condition.” “And it is?” “She wants you to apologize to her.” I cursed, “Why should I apologize to her?” “She said it was because you said some things.” “All I did was tell her what a bad ruler she was.”  I levitated a parchment and quill towards me and started writing when Lightning said, “My King, the princess would like you to apologize to her in pony.” “What time?” “At 08:00 this evening.” “You may leave now.” The courtier bowed and walked out, leaving me alone in my throne room. I was thinking, should I go and apologize, or should I not? If I didn’t, then I would have to eat only crystals for my whole life. And I was immortal, so I would be eating crystals forever. It was another chance to see Luna, so I decided to go. And that is how at 8 this evening, I found myself in Celestia’s throne room. I had no idea how to apologize, so I started, “I’m sorry for saying all those things, but they were true.” Celestia didn’t move, so I said, “I’m sorry for everything that I said.” I tried, “I’ll get you a crystal teacup?” This time Celestia smiled and said, “If you will get a new teacup for me, then of course I will accept your proposal. But I think you should be punished.” Luna whispered into her sister’s ear, “Don’t go too hard on him.” “Fine then, I won’t punish you. I hope you won’t have to come here again.” I took that as my cue to leave, and teleported away.  I spent a few hours on my balcony, looking at the stars. And thinking about...Luna. I don’t know what spell she cast on me, but I liked her a lot. Liked would be too weak a word. Love could describe what I felt for her. I shook my head; Luna was Celestia’s sister. I couldn’t love anypony. Even if I did love Luna, Celestia hated me, and I was sure that she’d never let me marry HER sister. > Letters... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The remainder of the evening went by slowly. I was still on my balcony, and still thinking about The Night Princess. I decided to wait until midnight, in case Luna came. The hours ticked by, and eventually I had to get my sleep. When I woke up, I did the same thing that I did every morning. I got out of bed, did my morning things, looked in the mirror and brushed my mane, put my armor, cape and crown on, and then I teleported into my throne room. I sat on my throne and listened to all the problems in the Empire, while Lightning Hooves stood next to me, giving suggestions. The last problem was that some ponies were refusing to mine. So, I told Lightning to bring them here, and when he did, I scared them into doing their work. They ran out of the throne room and started mining. One month later... When a whole month had passed without Luna coming, I wondered what princesses thought soon meant. Did they think it meant after a year? Maybe I should've said, 'I hope to see you next week'? Wait. Why did I want to see her so badly? I couldn't love. I was the King Of Monsters. I would never be able to love anypony, and nopony would ever love me. Maybe I was just concerned about her? That sounded strange in my head. I had never cared for anypony, before and after I took over. When I was a colt, nopony liked me. And now that I was a stallion, I didn't care for anypony, because my foalhood was filled with hatred. But what did I feel for her? I wouldn't believe it was love, or care. I'll just say that I like her. The sound of somepony landing pulled me from my thoughts. I turned and saw the mare I liked. "Hello, King Sombra." "Princess Luna! It's been a long time." "I would've visited sooner, but I decided one time every month would be fine, or Celestia might start suspecting me." "I understand." "How have things been for you as of late?" "It's been boring, as usual. I have to spend five hours of my day in my throne room, listening to everyponies problems. I hope things have been better on your end." "Actually, it's been worse." "And would you care to tell me why?" "As you already know, my sister and I rule Equestria together. But sometimes I feel like only she rules it. Everypony only asks her for help, and when I make suggestions, Celestia ignores me. In the night ponies sleep, and in the day they play and work. Nopony appreciates me or my nights. They don't even think of me as a princess. " "And that is where you are wrong, dear princess." "And how is that?" "You said nopony appreciates you, or your nights, but I do. To me, the nights are the best time, when the stars are out and the moon shines. To me, you will always be The Beautiful Princess Of The Night." "Nopony's ever said that before." "It doesn't matter what they say, dear princess. You are much more beautiful than any mares that I've ever seen." "Y-you think I'm beautiful?" "I assure you, I do." What happened next was totally unexpected. Luna hugged me. She actually hugged me. Did that mean she felt the same feelings that I did for her? She let go of me and said, "I know how we can talk to each other easily." "You do?" "Yes! We could write letters to each other!" "Like pen-pals?" Luna nodded. I exclaimed, "That's a great idea! That way, we could contact each other without your sister suspecting a thing!" Luna had left half an hour ago, saying that she had to get back to her castle before sunrise. I waved and after she flew away, I went into my bed and caught up with sleep. For the first time in a month, my heart felt peace. True happiness. A week later... I woke up and ran out of bed. Then, I quickly did the things that I did every morning, and teleported to my throne room. Then, I started court. I listened to everyponies problems, gave the solutions, and Lightning gave suggestions. I couldn't wait for the evening, when I would start writing letters to Luna. It had been long since sunset, and here I was, on my balcony looking at the stars with a quill and parchment. I started writing, "Dear Princess Of The Night, the beauty of your night skies never fail to amaze me. I always wonder how one could create such a beautiful thing. When I look at the sky, I think of you. How your mane looks as if it has stars in it. And how you are so beautiful. Things have been going well for me, I hope the same can be said for you. Don't hesitate to tell me about any worries you have, or problems you face. Looking forward to your reply, King Sombra." I rolled the parchment up after letting the ink dry, I put a seal on it, and then used a spell to send my letter. Then I waited for her reply. Out of thin air, popped a letter. It had Luna's seal on it. I took the seal off, unrolled it, and read, "My dear King Of Monsters, you will never fail to flatter me with your kind words. I am happy to know that things are going well for you. I've been spending more time alone, since we last met so I haven't been having any problems. I doubt anypony will notice if I don't do night court. (It's always empty except for me and my batponies.) I've been spending more time in the dream world than the real world, trying to find out how to give Celestia nightmares. Do you know any nightmare spells? If you do, then I'll be happy to know them too. Royally yours, Princess Luna." I folded Luna's letter and then I walked into my room. I put her letter under my pillow, and then went back to the balcony. I looked at the sky one more time before, and then decided to call it a night. > Sombra... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Princess Luna's P.O.V: After sending my letter to Sombra, I thought about what I had written. Everything that I wrote was true, but should I have written all that? I shook my head. I should've done what I did; Sombra was the only one who understood me. It was so peaceful here, in the dream world. So quiet, so full of dreams. The only place that could give me peace was this. I exited the dream world just in time to lower the moon. The sun rose, and I watched as ponies started their day. It was unfair. Those ponies spent the entire day awake and having fun but spent my night asleep. Those ponies praised Celestia and only thought of her as the ruler of Equestria. Did they even think of me as a princess? The answer was they did not. That angered me, but when I remembered Sombra's words, I calmed down. He was the only pony who stayed awake during the night for as long as he could. He was the only pony who thought of me as a princess. He was the only pony who appreciated and loved me and my nights. My thoughts drifted to how handsome he looked and how his smile/smirk was so charming. And about how his voice sounded so better than any other stallion's voice. How, whenever I visited his dreams, they were about me. I whispered to myself, "Sombra." Whenever I said his name, I felt butterflies in my stomach. I thought about him all day and night. I believed that I was falling in love and that he felt the same feelings for me that I did for him. I had finally found my special somepony, and I would never have to spend another hearts and hooves day alone. Even if I slept through the days, I still could see everyponies happiness in their dreams. A memory flashed in my head of when Celestia had found her special somepony. She gave him all her love, but he pretended to love her. He wanted to marry her so that he could become a prince. One day, the truth slipped from his mouth, and he left Celestia with a shattered heart. After that, Celestia never opened her heart to anypony and tried to keep me away from falling in love. If one day, she found out that I loved Sombra, what would she do? I would never let her find out. I quickly jumped up and hid Sombra's letter in my desk draw where nopony would think to look. Then, I climbed into my bed and closed my eyes. I woke up and ran to my balcony. I saw the sun setting, so I quickly raised the moon and covered the sky with stars. With that done, I walked to my bedroom, ready to enter the dream world. I was about to enter it when I heard a popping noise and saw a letter appear out of thin air. I caught the letter and levitated it to my hooves, and then I looked at it. The letter had Sombra's seal on it, so I quickly broke the seal, unrolled it, and read, "To my dear princess of the night, Luna. I have read your letter, and this is my reply to it. I know how it feels to be left out or unappreciated because I went through all that. When I was a colt, I lived in an orphanage. My parents were pegasi and hated me for being a unicorn. As soon as I was born, they left me in an orphanage. I grew up there, with all the other ponies. I could do better magic than them, but they ignored my talents. I never got my cutie mark, so they stayed away from me, calling me the weird pony. I was sad that I had no friends. One day, I read a book about something called the crystal fair. It happened every year in the Crystal Empire, and I was excited to be old enough to go. But sadly, when the time for the Crystal Fair arrived, I was ill. Every part of my body hurt. I didn't know why, but it lasted until the Crystal Fair was over, leaving me shattered. I hoped to see it next year, but unfortunately, it was not to be. Every year, on the day of the Fair, I felt pain. Like my body was being ripped apart. Like a thousand knives were thrown into my heart. Each year, at the Fair, I suffered. But why? I hadn't hurt anypony. What did I ever do to deserve such a fate? One night, while I was sleeping, I heard a voice. The voice told me that it could make me powerful; everypony would fear me and appreciate my talents. I didn't know what to do. Should I listen to the voice? It kept telling me the same thing, again and again. One day, it told me why I suffered while everypony else was full of joy. Each night, it offered me a chance to become the most talented pony. And each night, I ignored its offer. The same thing went on for a year until I gave in. I gave in. I accepted its offer. And it gave me more power than I could imagine. In the morning, I woke up and looked in the mirror. But I saw that my eyes were red instead of green. I had silver armor and a red cape. I also had a crown and my horn... My horn was no longer its original shape or color. It was scarlet and curved back. I had grown taller, and when I spoke, my voice sounded deeper. It took me some time to get used to these changes. I wondered what I should do next, now that I had all this power. Then, I remembered what the voice had told me, why I suffered each year. It was because of Amore. Amore was the cause of my suffering. With her 'love magic', she caused my pain. I was full of rage when I teleported to the Crystal Palace. Amore was just in front of the Crystal Heart, looking at it. Seeing her happy made me angrier. She turned around and saw me looking ready to kill. She gasped as I turned her to crystal and smashed her statue. After I let my anger out, I saw what I had done. Now that I had destroyed the Crystal Princess, who would rule this Empire? I thought nopony but myself worthy and declared myself as the new ruler. Someponies stood against me, but by putting fear into their hearts, all bowed to me. I made sure that everypony had all the things they needed. I was unappreciated and suffered for no reason. But, I took my revenge. Before you hate me for this, ask yourself these questions. What would you have done had you been in my place? If you suffered each year while nopony else did, and the only one who could stop your suffering sat back and watched as you suffered? And yes, I do know some nightmare spells. I'd be happy to tell you. If you're still interested to know, then send a reply. Looking forward to your reply, King Sombra." After reading Sombra's letter, I drank some water. I never thought anypony could have such a terrible past. And why did Sombra think that I'd hate him for what he did? I would've done the same had I been in his place. I decided to write a reply before he thought that I hated him. What I wrote was this, "To my dear Sombra, King Of Monsters, I have read your letter and am sad you had such a past. I do not hate you for it. I would've done the same had I been in your place. Yes, I am still interested to learn the spells. I hope you are well, The Princess Of The Night, Luna." After sending it, I waited patiently for his reply. > Luna's Daymares? > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- King Sombra's P.O.V: After I sent the letter to Luna, I found myself pacing. What if she hated me? Did I do the right thing by telling her all of that? I had never told anypony about my past. As much as I might deny it, I had feelings for the Princess Of The Night. I was about to think she hated me when I heard a popping sound and saw a letter. I used my magic to levitate it to myself, and then I quickly broke the seal. Then, I unrolled the letter and read, "To Sombra, The King Of Monsters. I have read your letter and feel sad you had such a past. Nopony should suffer as you did. I do not hate you for it; I would have done the same thing had I been in your place. I would be delighted if you would tell me some nightmare spells that you know. Hoping for your reply, The Princess Of The Night, Luna." After reading her letter, I felt happy that Luna didn't hate me. I got a quill and parchment and started writing, "To my dear Princess Of The Night, Luna." Princess Luna's P.O.V: I was in my room, waiting for Sombra's reply. I hoped he would send the letter before sunrise; I had to give Celestia a nightmare, not a daymare! And I also had to enter the dream world to see if anypony had nightmares. Suddenly, without warning, a letter appeared, and with it, a popping sound. I levitated the letter towards myself, broke the seal, unrolled it, and read, "To my dear Princess Of The Night, Luna. I cannot express in words how relieved I am that you do not hate me. Here is the nightmare spell. Instructions: 1) Make sure that you are alone in a dark place. 2) After making sure then concentrate hard on the pony that you want to give nightmares to. (E.g: Celestia) That will form a connection between your and their minds. (If you think about them with another pony, that pony will have the nightmares instead.) 3) Think about what they fear most and how much you hate them. 4) Make sure that they are asleep, and then using the connection, send their worst fears to them. 5) They would have a nightmare. Do tell me how it goes. Looking forward to your reply, King Sombra." After reading the letter, I sent one of my batponies to check if Celestia was sleeping. He came back saying that she was indeed asleep. I told the other batponies to see that I would not be disturbed, and then I closed my door. I blew the candles out and sat on my bed. Then, I concentrated hard on Celestia. My memories of her. But they all showed us together. I forgot that I had to think of just Celestia and felt a strange feeling. Then, I continued to the next step: thinking about what she feared and how much I hated her now. That was a bit hard, as I only hated her a little bit because she hated Sombra. And what were her fears? Maybe she feared that one day, I would become more powerful than herself, and I would be the only Equestrian Princess? That sounded like something Celestia would fear, so I thought of that. Then going deep into my mind and finding a connection, I sent her worst fears and my hatred into Celestia's dreams. I lit the candles and entered the dream world to find Celestia's dream. I went into it and saw...WHAT!!! Instead of a terrible nightmare, Celestia's dream was about her having a cup of tea in a flower garden. And she had a thousand of them next to her. I thought that maybe it would take some time for the spell to take effect and left the dream world. I decided to add more stars to the sky. When Celestia rose the sun, I lowered the moon and then laid on my bed and drifted to sleep. I was in the throne room, only it looked different. There was only one throne, and the room was decorated with Celestia's cutie mark. I looked around and heard hoofsteps. I saw Celestia and asked her, "Sister? What has happened in here?" She replied, "What do you mean, Luna?" I told her, "Why is there only one throne? And why is this room decorated in only your cutie mark?" She said coldly, "It's obvious, isn't it, Luna? I have taken my place as the only Princess of Equestria." My mouth fell open. "But sister, we were supposed to rule together!" She laughed and shook her head. "But I can raise both the sun and the moon! I don't need your help. I am the true ruler of Equestria! Leave now!" "B-but Tia..." "But what? If you don't leave now, I shall turn you into an earth pony." I said, "Tia come back to your senses. What has happened to you?" "Nothing has happened to me. Leave! I shall not warn you again." I didn't move from my spot and instead stared at Celestia. Her horn glowed, and there was a flash of light directed at me. I looked at myself, and my wings were...My wings were gone! I put my hoof where my horn was and felt no horn there. I was an earth pony! I screamed, "Noooooooooooooo!" When I opened my eyes, my wings and horn were still there. A guard came rushing in and bowed. He asked, "Princess? I heard you screaming. Is all fine?" I told the batpony, "You need not worry, Shadowlance. I just had a daymare. You may go." Shadowlance bowed and left. After he left, I drank some water, trying to reassure myself that it was just a dream. But why did I have such a terrible daymare? And why had it felt so real? And why did I have a daymare? Celestia was supposed to have nightmares, not me! I sighed and drifted off to the world of sleep once more. > The Nightmist > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- King Sombra's P.O.V: I was waiting for Luna's letter about how it had gone with Celestia's nightmares, but reminding myself that it was day, I decided to start court. I teleported into my throne room and saw that Lightning Hooves was there, waiting for me. He bowed when he saw me. I sat on my throne, and he stood next to me. He said, "My King, there is a line of ponies outside. Shall I let them in?" I told him, "Let the first one in." He flew and opened the doors, allowing the first pony to step in. The pony talked about her problem, and I told Lightning Hooves to fix it. It was now evening, and I was looking at the sky, thinking of Luna. The colour of the sky matched her mane perfectly. Suddenly, there was a popping noise, and I saw a letter with Luna's seal on it. I opened it and read, "To Sombra, The King Of Monsters. I hope you HAVEN'T been having nightmares because I HAVE. After doing the nightmare spell that YOU gave me, Tia DIDN'T get ANY nightmares, I got DAYMARES! Are you sure that YOU gave me the CORRECT spell? I HATE the daymares that I'm having. It's about Tia saying that she will RULE both day and night. I hope that the spell ISN'T messed up and that you can REVERSE it. Hoping for YOUR help, The Princess Of The Night, Luna." After reading Luna's letter, I was confused. The spell should've given nightmares to Celestia, not Luna. I was thinking about what to do when a voice that I hadn't heard for a long time said, "Sombra. I know how I can help your princess." It was the nightmist, the same thing that had helped me. I asked, "How?" Nightmist replied, "Let me out of your head first." So I did. The nightmist came out of me and took on a form of a pony. It said, "I helped you when you needed help, now I can help your princess. I can stop her daymares. Trust me." "Ok, I'll trust you but promise not to harm Luna?" "I assure you, your princess will be very safe." And with that, the nightmist flew off. I wrote a letter to Luna. Princess Luna's P.O.V: I was still trying to sleep when I felt something fly through me. A voice in my head said, "Fear not, I am only here to help you." I thought, "Was this voice here to stop my nightmares? And who was it?" The voice answered back, "I am Nightmist. And yes, I am here to stop your nightmares. I can give you anything you want. I can even make you the only ruler of Equestria." I think the Nightmist had a telepathic link with me. So I thought, "I don't want to rule Equestria alone. But I would like it if you'd stop my nightmares. They are unbearable." "As you wish, princess. It will take some time to stop the nightmares." I heard a popping sound and saw a letter that had Sombra's seal on it. I levitated it to myself and unrolled it. Then I read, "To my dear Princess Of The Night, Luna. I am sorry to hear that you have been having daymares. Are you sure you followed the steps correctly? I have used this spell a thousand times, and it never gave me nightmares. (I used to use it on Amore before I shattered her.) Perhaps while you were thinking of Celestia, you thought of yourself and her? If you think of yourself and another pony while casting the spell, then you will get nightmares/ daymares. I have sent a friend of mine, called the Nightmist, to help you. Hoping that Nightmist can help you, King Sombra." After reading his letter, I thought back to when I had been casting the spell. Then I remembered that I had thought of myself and Celestia. So that explains why I had got daymares instead of Celestia. I decided to send a reply to Sombra in the evening. I hid the letter and then shut my eyes. But I never knew the Nightmist's true intentions. The time had come for me to write my reply. I levitated a parchment and a quill and an ink bottle towards myself. Then, I began writing. I had only written the first line when I heard a knock on my door. I asked, "Who knocks?" The answer was, "Luna! It's me, Celestia." I quickly hid the parchment, quill and ink, and then I opened the door to let Celestia in. She came in and shut the door behind her. Sitting on the edge of my bed with a cup of tea in her hooves, she said, "Luna, why have you been locked up in your room lately?" I decided to lie. I replied, "It's just that...I've been ill with a severe fever. To not make anypony else ill, I decided to isolate myself." Celestia had a worried look on her face. "Then you should've told me and gone to the hospital! Here, have some tea." Celestia moved her teacup towards me, and I said, "No, thank you, sister. I've had enough tea to last a lifetime." Celestia thought about something and said, "Do you want me to raise the moon for you? You might not be strong enough." I screamed, "No! I'm not weak! I can raise the moon on my own, sister." Then I stopped screaming and said, "You should go now; you wouldn't want to get my illness, would you?" Celestia smiled at me and said, "Thanks for the reminder, Luna. Bye." And like that, she left. I was happy and sad. I was happy because I hated the smell of tea, and Celestia had gone with her teacup. I was sad because I thought that Celestia might care enough to say that she'd send a card. But I guess she forgot about me. I remembered the days before we got our cutie marks. We used to have so much fun together, staying up at night to read comics, falling asleep over our bowls of soup. I missed those days. When Celestia cared about me more than she did now. When I was ill, she always used to stay next to me, not caring if she got sick too. Always giving me cards and being the best sister ever. I wiped a tear away from my eyes. Those days were far gone. Lost. Nothing like that would ever happen again. I couldn't stop the coming storm of tears and buried my face in my pillows. Then, I let the tears flow. I let the storm of tears out. My pillow was wet with tears. I wiped the last of them from my eyes and then continued writing my letter to Sombra. I finished writing and sent it. Then, I entered the dream world to watch everypony's dreams. > A kiss... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- King Sombra's P.O.V: It had been long since sunset, and I was now calming myself by looking at the stars. Today in court, the same pony had kept coming back with different problems and that had annoyed me greatly. It had taken all of my energy to not scream at him. Now, my anger was being replaced by peace from the night sky. A popping sound later, and a letter had appeared with the night princess's seal on it. I levitated the letter to myself, and broke the seal before unrolling it. I read, "To Sombra, The King Of The Monsters. As a reply to your letter, yes I am sure I had cast the spell correctly. And yes, I was thinking of myself and Celestia. That probably explains why I'm having daymares. Nightmist had come not long after your letter, and told me that it would take a while to stop my daymares. I was thinking, since I haven't left the castle in a long time, could we meet at midnight? If you aren't busy that is. Awaiting your reply, The Princess Of The Night, Luna." I smiled and started writing the reply. Then, I put Luna's letter with the other ones she had sent. ************************************ Princess Luna's P.O.V: I left the dream world for what seemed like the thousandth time to check if Sombra had sent a reply. I waited a few seconds, and with a popping sound came a letter. I levitated it to myself and saw it had Sombra's seal. After breaking the seal, I unrolled the letter and read, "To my dear Princess Of The Night, Luna. You are right, that is the very reason why you are having daymares. I am not busy, and will never be busy at midnight. It is a time when I leave all problems to deal with in the morning. Yes, we can meet at midnight. I'm more than happy to say so. Waiting for you, King Sombra." After I had finished reading Sombra's letter, I put it with the other ones from him. Then, I flew out of my balcony to the Crystal Empire. I enjoyed the feel of the wind blowing my mane against my face. I hadn't flown in ages. Now I felt free. My flight ended when I landed on King Sombra's balcony. He hadn't noticed me yet, so I quietly walked behind him. He turned around and jumped. He put a hoof on his chest and said, "Luna! You scared me!" I laughed, "I thought you weren't scared of anything." He replied, "I may be a King Of Monsters, but I still have a heart. Pieces of it are still returning, and cannot be broken again." "It was just for fun.", I said. "I know that.", Sombra said. "I just said all that for dramatic effect. But it's still true." "Ok, drama King. Where shall we spend the night?", I asked. "How does a moonlit stroll through the Empire, and ice cream sound?", asked Sombra. I replied, “It sounds great. Let’s go!” So, the both of us teleported down, and then started our walk. I broke the silence by saying, “You know, we could call this our first date.” Sombra blushed, “You’d really think of it as that?” “Yes.”, I replied. “We love each other, or do you not love me?” Sombra blushed again and said, “Of course I love you, my dear Luna. How could I not? It strikes me as strange that nopony has asked to marry you yet.” I said, “I’ll tell you why.” Sombra said, “Ok.” I started, “Celestia fell in love once, and she loved that pony with her whole heart. But, he didn’t love her. He wanted to marry her so that he could become a prince. One day, the truth slipped from his mouth, and he left Celestia with a shattered heart. After that, Celestia never opened her heart to anypony and tried to keep me away from falling in love. She never let me go near any stallions.” Sombra said, “Oh. What do you think she’d do if she found out we love each other?” “I don’t know. And I don’t want to lose you.”, I replied. Sombra said, “I don’t want to lose you either. We’ll never let her find out. Ever.” “We’ll keep this a secret.”, I agreed. ******************************************************************************** King Sombra's P.O.V: Luna and I were now in an ice cream shop that I used to go to when I had been a colt. We were both sitting at a table, Luna was opposite me. We were eating Vanilla ice cream, something that we both loved. The last few minutes had been quiet, as none of us had thought of anything to say. I looked at Luna and saw that there was some ice cream on her cheek. I broke the silence by saying. “Um, Luna? You’ve got some ice cream on your cheek.” Luna got a tissue and put it near her cheek. “Here?”, she asked. I replied, “No.” I pointed at her cheek. “There.” Luna moved the tissue and asked, “Here?” I said, “No.” Then I stood on my chair and leaned across the table. I got a tissue from underneath my cape, and wiped Luna’s cheek. “There.” Luna blushed. I sat down, and finished my ice cream. Then, I looked at Luna. She was so beautiful; it was complete torture for me not to kiss her. Luna finished her ice cream and saw me staring at her. I blushed and looked away. When she was looking at something else. I looked at her again. Something was telling me to just kiss her, while something else told me not to. I didn't know what to do. Should I kiss her or not? While I was battling with myself, out of the corner of my eye I saw Luna lick her lips, suddenly finding them dry. Eventually I lost control, and kissed Luna with all my love. She was caught by surprise first, but then she kissed too. It was our first kiss. So full of love, and sweet. We stayed like that for a long time, until Luna looked at the sky and said, "I have to go now, or Tia will know that I'm out of the castle. Bye Sombra." Before flying off, Luna surprised me by kissing me on the cheek. I was frozen for a moment, and the I waved after her, "Bye Luna." Turns out she did love me. I made my way back to my castle, and then i wrote in my journal. After that, I decided to call it a night. As soon as I had taken my armor, cape, and crown off, then I fell asleep on the bed because I was so tired. ********************************************************** Princess Luna's P.O.V: As soon as I had looked at the sky, I realized that dawn was going to be soon and that I had to go. I told Sombra, , "I have to go now, or Tia will know that I'm out of the castle. Bye Sombra." I was about to fly off, when i got an idea and kissed Sombra on the cheek. Then I flew off and watched as Sombra slowly raised a hoof to his cheek where I had kissed him. Then he unfroze himself, and called after me. "Bye Luna." I couldn't wave back, because I had only ten minutes to get back to the castle. I remembered something, and teleported to my room. Then I looked in the mirror to see if any ice cream was left on my face. Finding none, I turned around and walked into my balcony. Then I lowered the moon, as Celestia raised the sun. I could not help but feel sad seeing how everypony woke up as soon as the sun rose. The night was better than the day. In the night, it was cold, peaceful, and beautiful. The day had none of that! I shook my head and walked to my bed. Then I fell into the land of sleep. ************************************ > Don't you dare... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Princess Luna's P.O.V: It had been a while since I had shut my eyes. I was having a not so peaceful dream, when suddenly everything froze. That wasn't a normal thing to happen in dreams. It meant that either a dreamwalker or a powerful creature had entered the dream. A mist came in front of me and said, "Princess Luna." "What do you want?", I asked it. The mist laughed, " Princess, I know everything that will happen in the future. You must trust me." I was no fool, so I said, "I will not trust you." "Fine, have it your way.", said the mist. " I am here to tell you what will happen in a month's time." "Continue.'', I said. "Your sister wants the throne for herself. She shall banish you from Equestria, and erase all history of you being a princess. Ponies will start to believe that she is the only Equestrian princess, and shall forget you." "That's not true!", I half-screamed. "Dear princess, it is true as you and I.", said the mist. "I'm not sure how real you are.", I muttered. Out loud I said, "Ponies would never forget me." I knew that wasn't true. "Ponies would forget you. After all, your sister Celestia can raise both the sun and moon." "While it is true that my sister can raise the sun and moon, ponies wouldn't forget me, as I am the Princess of the Night. When their dreams aren't so bright, it is I who fills it with light.", said I. "You are good at rhyming, as I can see. But I speak the truth and can make you a queen.", was the mist's reply. "I am happy with my current position, and you speak not but lies. I shall never believe you, even if you cry.", I said. "One day princess, one day you shall know that I speak the truth. Farewell for now. I shall leave you to your dreams.", was the mist's last words before leaving my dream. I sat up in bed, fully awake. While I didn't believe what that mist had said, those were thoughts that normally stayed in my head! It's almost like the mist had known my fears. Was it a part of me, or trying to help? Needless to say, for the rest of the day the mist's words reverberated in my head. I heard a voice say, "Luna?" I came out of my thoughts and said, "Yes?" Celestia had a look of concern on her face. She always did when speaking to other ponies when the expression was needed. "Are you feeling fine?", asked Celestia. "Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?", was my reply. "You fell asleep in your soup.", said Celestia. "Just like old days.", I replied. "Tell me the truth, Luna. Are you feeling okay?", asked Celestia with real concern in her voice. "Yes, I am.", I sighed. "Well, I don't think you are. You know, you could have a week off.", suggested Celestia. "I most certainly can not have a week off. It is my duty to raise the moon!", I said. A voice in my head said, 'She wants to take full control of your moon.' "I could raise the moon while you-", Celestia was saying, but I cut her off. "Raising the moon is Our duty! We shall not have a week off, nor shall We allow anypony else to raise Our moon. Tis Our duty alone.", I said in old ponish. Whenever I spoke in old ponish, it was because I was angry or worried. I was angry that Celestia even thought of raising MY moon for an entire week, and I was worried because of that voice that told me Celestia wanted to replace me. What if it was right? I pushed my bowl of soup away and went to my room ignoring Celestia's shocked face and her calls. ____________________________________________________ I had spent the evening thinking. I shouldn't have said all that to Tia, but it just came out. I hoped that it wouldn't lead to anything bad. I decided to write to Sombra. Before I could start, a letter appeared. It had his seal on it. Excited to read the letter, I broke the seal and unrolled it. I read, "To my love, Luna. I hope you are doing well. I was informed by one of my spies that Celestia is planning to come to the Crystal Empire, and blast me with the Elements of Harmony. If it isn't too much of a bother, could you try and talk her out of it? PS: Let's meet next week for another date. Lots of good wishes,  King Sombra." After reading Sombra’s letter, I thought, Who could this spy be? I shrugged and started writing a reply to Sombra. _________________________________________________ King Sombra’s P.O.V: I waited for my dear Luna’s reply, hoping she had read my letter. What I had written was true, I most certainly did have a spy. A sound later came a letter, from the cherry of my eyes. I broke the seal and unrolled it, and then I read, “To my dear Sombra, I can’t say that I am doing fully well, as my dreams and thoughts are plagued by this Nightmist and another creature. I hope that you are doing well, and I would be more than happy to talk Celestia out of her plan. And, I’m free next week. Also, could you try and find a way to get those creatures out of my head? I shall go crazy if I have to spend the rest of my life with them. Kisses and good wishes, The Princess Of The Night, Luna.” I thought, ‘The nightmist is plaguing Luna’s dreams and thoughts? That is quite strange. I remember that it had told me it was going to help Luna. Or maybe it is helping Luna, but the nightmare spell that she used (that I gave her) has created another creature that stops the nightmist doing its job?’ I shook my head and thought, ‘I need to find a way to stop the new creature. But first, I’ll need to know everything I can about it.’ Then I decided to write a reply to Luna. Levitating a parchment, quill, and ink pot over to myself, I started writing. Once done I read it one last time before sending it. “To my dear Luna, The Princess Of The Night, and the cherry of my eyes, Rest assured dear Luna, you will not have to live with those creatures inside your head forever.  I shall do the best I can in saving your mind from them. And yes, I am doing well. I’ll have the cure ready soon. Lots of love and kisses, Sombra, The King Of Monsters. PS: I’m excited for next week!” That seemed good enough, so I sent it. Now all I had to do was research. Lots of it. *************************************** > What?! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Princess Luna's P.O.V The week went by quickly, and before I knew it, it was time for my date with Sombra. Once midnight, I flew to the crystal empire. I landed on Sombra's balcony, and said, "Sombra, I'm here." When I didn't hear Sombra coming, I asked, "Sombra? Tonight's our date, remember?" I turned around, and jumped upon seeing Sombra. I put a hoof on my chest. "Sombra! You scared me!" He just laughed and said, "Nothing's wrong with having a little fun." He saw my glare and stopped laughing. "I'll forgive you this time.", I sighed. "Let's go and get some ice cream then?", he asked. "Sure.", I replied. King Sombra's P.O.V: Once at the ice cream restaurant, we sat at a table and ate our ice cream. I was so busy eating my ice cream that I didn't see the smirk on Luna's face. Suddenly, I felt something cold on my cheek. I looked up to see that Luna was throwing ice cream at me. "Hey!", I said. "What's hey about?", she asked. "You're throwing ice cream at me!", I exclaimed. "And?", Luna asked as if there was nothing wrong with that. "It's payback for what you did to me before." "But you said that you forgave me.", I told her. "I tricked you.", she told me. "After all, nothing's wrong with having a little fun, right?" I smirked as an idea formed inside my head. "Then let's have a snow battle?", I offered. "Let's get started!", said Luna. We were outside of the Crystal Empire's shield that was made by the crystal heart. The surroundings were covered with snow. Luna threw a snow ball at me, and I quickly got one ready to throw at her. It hit her right on her face. Blinking away the snow, she told me, "You cannot defeat me so easily!" I got hit. I wiped my face with a hoof, and then I told her, "You cannot defeat me so easily either!" With a battle cry, I threw a snow ball at Luna, only for her to block it with a shield. "Hey! You never said that we could use shields!" "But you never said that we couldn't.", Luna smirked at me. She threw a snow ball, and I quickly used a shield to prevent it from hitting my face. After our snow ball fight, we both had warm showers. I was waiting for Luna to finish hers. Once she came out, she sat next to me and asked, "Have you found the reason why I'm being pestered by those creatures?" I nodded, "Yes, I have." "Tell me then?", she asked. I took a deep breath and said, "Luna, you know that spell I gave you for giving your sister nightmares?" She nodded, and I continued, "I did some tests, and found out that if used incorrectly, it creates a creature called the Tantabus which gives its host nightmares and tries to corrupt it." "Is there any way to get rid of it?", Luna asked, hope in her eyes. I looked at the ground as I said, "I'm sorry, Luna. There isn't." "So I guess I'll be stuck with it for the rest of my life then.", she muttered and flew off, crying. "Luna, wait!" , I called after her, but she ignored me. Princess Luna's P.O.V: My hope shattered as Sombra replied, "I'm sorry, Luna. There isn't." "So I guess I'll be stuck with it for the rest of my life then.", I muttered before flying off, crying. "Luna, wait!", Sombra called after me, but I ignored him. I kept on flying. It wasn't easy to accept the fact that I would be stuck with the Nightmist and Tantabus for the rest of my life. I had hoped that Sombra would've found a way to get rid of them. I landed on my balcony, and used a spell to remove all traces of tears. I then lowered the moon as Celestia raised the sun. I walked into my room, and threw myself on the bed. I dug my face into my pillow and tried to calm myself. I heard a popping sound, and saw a letter appear. It had Sombra's seal on it. I read, "Luna, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen, I swear! Please forgive me. From Sombra." It was a lot different from all the other letters he had sent me, but that was because he must have written it in a hurry. I put the letter away, and went back to my bed. I wasn't going to write a reply. I would forgive Sombra, but not today. Not now. I just needed some space. Some time to myself completely. I cried some more, and then fell asleep. > No! Sombra! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- King Sombra's P.O.V: It's been a week since we last met, and Luna hasn't answered any of my letters. I hope nothing bad has happened to her. I've been sending thousands of letters, but Luna hasn't replied to a single one. I must do something. I knew I had to do something. What kind of coltfriend would I be if I didn't? Princess Luna's P.O.V: It's been a week since our date. Sombra's been sending thousands of letters, but I haven't been reading them. I was about to enter the dream world when a flash of light distracted me. I jumped off my bed and saw that somepony had teleported into my room. The pony was dressed in black. I fearfully asked, "W-who are you?" I was unable to keep the stutter out of my voice. He did not give an answer, and instead came closer. He put something on my horn, and I realized it was a no magic ring. I was about to scream, and he noticed. He pulled a knife out of nowhere and put it against my neck. I froze. He said, "Move or scream, and I will kill you." His voice was deep, confirming that he was a stallion. He had a weapon, while I did not. Without my magic, I could not do a thing to him. I knew it would be useless to even try to fight him. Before I could think more, I felt a sharp pain in my flank. Looking there, I saw a needle. And then all went black. King Sombra's P.O.V: I had come up with a plan. The last thing that I wanted to do was this, but I had to do it. I teleported to Luna's room, and she jumped off her bed. "W-who are you?", she asked, failing to keep the stutter out of her voice. I didn't answer her, and put a no magic ring on her horn. She was about to scream, but I went closer to her and pulled a knife out of nowhere. I put it against her neck, being careful not to hurt her, and said, "Move or scream, and I'll kill you." The spell I had used worked perfectly. She could not recognize my voice. I knew that Luna would try to fight, and I had to take her to the empire without anypony knowing. I injected a sleeping potion into her, and she fell to the floor, unconscious. I put the knife away, and teleported us both to my castle. I left Luna in a room, and after chaining her, I teleported to my room. Then I removed the spell, and the clothes. I put my armor and cape on. Princess Luna's P.O.V: When I woke up, I didn't know where I was. The last thing that I remembered was a needle in my flank, and everything going black. I jumped up and looked around. I was in a room. Not a cell. I looked at my hooves and saw that they were chained. My horn still had the no magic ring on it. The door opened, and I turned and saw Sombra. He said, "You're awake." I noticed that the room was made of crystal. Meaning that Sombra had ponynapped me. "Sombra? Why did you do this to me?", I asked him. He looked down as he answered, "I'm sorry, Luna. But it was the only thing that I could do. I still love you..." King Sombra's P.O.V: After talking to Luna, I went straight to my room. I threw myself on my bed. I felt terrible. Just terrible. After calming myself, I sat at my desk and started writing a letter. I knew that with Luna missing from the Canterlot castle, and all the letters in her room, it would not take long for Celestia to connect the dots and find out that I loved Luna and had ponynapped her. And then she would come here with the elements of harmony and banish me for a thousand years. So, I started writing what would be my last letter to Luna in a thousand years. Princess Celestia's P.O.V: "Princess Celestia!", shouted a lunar guard as he ran towards me. "Princess Luna is missing!" I nearly choked on my piece of cake. "Are you sure?", I asked him. "Yes, princess.", he replied. " I am sure." "Thank you for telling me, Shadowlance.", I said. " You may leave now." He bowed and left. I teleported to Luna's room and started searching for things that could give me clues. I opened Luna's desk draw and saw letters. Lots of them. I took one out and read it. I dropped the letter after are reading the last line. It was from Sombra. He and Luna were in love. I had failed to stop her from falling in love, and now it was too late. She would suffer a heartbreak when I banished him. But I had to banish him. I teleported to my room and took the elements of harmony and started flying to the crystal empire to banish Sombra and get my sister back. King Sombra's P.O.V: A guard ran up to me and said, "King Sombra! Princess Celestia is flying here." "Make sure that the castle is guarded properly.", I told him. "As you wish, my King.", he said and ran. Knowing I had not much time left before I would get banished, I teleported to Luna with the letter. A flash of magic and her bonds were gone. I teleported us both to the throne room and gave her the letter. I told her, "Your sister, Celestia, is coming to banish me. Read this after I'm banished. And read it while you're alone." A tear fell from her eyes. "Can't you stop her from banishing you?" "I'm sorry, Luna. There's nothing that I can do. But I can give you this." I pulled her into a kiss. She was surprised at first, but kissed me back. Our kiss got deeper and the seconds passed. Until... "Step away from my sister!", shouted a voice. I knew that voice too well. It belonged to Celestia. She pulled Luna away from me and said, "I should've done this long ago." Then she powered the elements, as I cast my last spell. It was the one that would banish the empire with me. As everything started fading away, I shouted, "Stay safe, Luna! Remember, I'll always love you!" Princess Luna's P.O.V: "Stay safe, Luna! Remember, I'll always love you!" Those were the last words Sombra said, before he faded away with the empire. Celestia recognized the spell and teleported us to the Canterlot castle. "Are you fine, Luna?", she asked. I screamed, "No! Of course I'm not! You banished Sombra! I love him!" "It had to be done sooner or later, Luna", she told me. "I hate you! I bucking hate you!", I shouted as I stormed off to my room. And in there, I broke down. > Finale. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Princess Luna’s P.O.V: I stood on my balcony, looking down at the street. Seeing how ponies walked with their special somepony. I felt anger rise in my heart. It was unfair. I loved Sombra, and I still do. But now he was gone, banished. He would be gone for a thousand years. I got angrier, and got an idea. It was time to accept the offer that the Nightmist gave. I started singing, “I have been locked up for long enough, I've kept my anger at bay." I paused, and gathered all my angry thoughts. "I must let myself be seen as tough, as I wait for that day." A blast of magic escaped my horn and hit the doors, destroying them. "It is time to break out, time to show Equestria what I can do. I will shout, all love my moon!" I flew out of the window and looked down at the ponies in the street. I brought out the stars and moon, making it night as I sang, "Now I'll bring out my moon, bring forth the night, it is truly a most wonderful sight!" Ponies gasped, not knowing why night had suddenly fallen. I teleported to the throne room where Celestia was, and continued, "I can't hold back anymore, it's time to set my demons free! Now I shall let my rage consume me!" Armor began forming on my body. Then I remembered about Celestia. She asked, "Luna, what are you doing?" I ignored her. "I don't care what they will say, I won't hold back my rage anymore! It is time for me to shine! I don't care what the ponies will do, from tonight, the night will last forever!" I finished my song just as my transformation was completed. I was now the same size as Celestia. Oh how I hated her. She was shocked upon seeing my new form but managed to say, “Luna, I don’t know what happened to you, but lower the moon.” “No.”, I replied. "And I am not Luna. I am Nightmare Moon." “Luna…”, said Celestia. “Lower the moon now. It is supposed to be day. I don't have time for your pranks." “No, Celestia.” I told her, “ I will not lower the moon. It shall be eternal night, and I assure you, this is not a prank. ” “Luna, listen to me. You-”, Celestia started to say but I cut her off. “No Celestia. Did you listen to me when I told you NOT  to banish Sombra? No, you didn’t.”, I nearly screamed. “That and this situation are two different things.”, said Tia. “No, they are not.”, I shouted. “Luna, I’m saying this for the last time. Lower the moon.”, she said. “I am not Luna. I am Nightmare Moon. And what will you do if I don’t do as you say?”, I asked her. Celestia’s horn glowed and she brought out six small gems. The Elements Of Harmony. Her magic spun them and a light raced towards me. “I’ll banish you to the moon.” The last thing that I heard before I found myself on the moon’s surface was, “I’m sorry Luna. But it was the only option.” Full of rage at being banished, I screamed, “CURSE YOU SUNBUTT! CURSE YOU!” In an effort to calm myself, I put my hoof in my armor and took out a letter. It was the one Sombra had given me minutes before his banishment. I unrolled it and read, “To my dearest Luna. This song is for you. I wanted to sing it to you, but time ran out. So here it is, written down. Love from Sombra.” I continued reading, "I was afraid to love, but you came and showed me your light. As the days passed, I fell in love with you and your night. I'm the pony that I am today because of you, oh Luna, you know it's true. You captured my heart, right from the start. And now I'm yours forever, our love is ending never. I have loved you for a thousand years, and I'll love you for eternity. Even if we are now apart, we'll be connected through our hearts. Because if you love me as I love you, nothing could ever part us two. We'll love each other forever, nothing can separate us ever. Just call me, and I'll be right by your side. We'll let the world know, paint the sky every color of the rainbow, using our love. You captured my heart, right from the start. And now I'm yours forever, our love is ending never. I have loved you for a thousand years, and I'll love you for eternity. Even if we are now apart, we'll be connected through our hearts. Because if you love me as I love you, nothing could ever separate us two. We'll let the world know, paint the sky every color of the rainbow, using our love." I turned it over and read, "I wanted to sing to this to you when I was going to ask you to marry me, but I guess there was a change of plans. I could still sing it to you a thousand years later, right? I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, why's Sombra so ok about being banished? The answer is, even if Sunbutt banished me because we love each other, she won't be able to stop us from loving each other. A thousand years later, when I return, our love for each other will be stronger than it was before. I'll love you forever, Luna. No matter what pony does what. I'll love you forever. I call this, The Luck In Our Stars. Lots of love, truly yours, Sombra." It was the most beautiful thing I had ever read. A stray tear rolled down my cheek. ‘Oh Sombra’, I thought. ‘How I wish that you were here.’ And then I cried my heart out.
