It was a cool day in Zephyr Hights. The wind blew softly and every pony in the city was happy and content with life. After all, Queen Haven announced the arrival of her new daughter just a week before. Zipp Storm, the new princess. Pipp had been around for about two years prior to her sisters birth. Though when Zipp was finally seen by the public she looked nothing like her sister. She took a lot after her father.
"Pipp! Pipp! Pipp Petals were are you!?"
"Mommy! I'm on live stream!"
"Well stop. I need you to help find your sister."
"Yes mama." Pipp looked back at her phone. "I gotta go. The royal pain got lost again."
"PIPP!!!"
____
A while later Zipp re-appeared hanging of a chandelier in the main dinning hall, along with huge mountains of...soap bubbles?
Zipp was holding a bottle of dish soap in her mouth, and an empty bottle of potassium iodide on the floor. Oh great...she now knows how to cause soap bubbles explosions.
Great.
OK.
We'll deal with this later. For now, YOUR FREAKIN' KID WHO CAN'T FLY IS HANGING OFF THE STUPID CHANDELIER!!!
Pipp looked up and frowned. "OK. I will deal with this later." She rolled her eyes and began to trot away.
"Pipp get back here, your sister is stuck on the chandelier hanging nearly a hundred feet off the floor."
YES. GET. THE. KID. DOWN. What kinda family are you?
"I agree with that voice. We need to get her down. Zipp! Zipp! How did you get up there!?"
Zipp looked down at the dinning table and pointed to the pile of bubbles. "I use da latter."
"You...used. A latter."
"Mhm."
"May I ask, where did you get the latter?"
"Guard."
"WHICH. GUARD."
"Uh..."
"Never mind. Pipp! Help me find the latter...under the big pile of soap. Great."
(Four hours later)
"Gahhh! Finnally!" Pipp's head popped up through the blanket of bubbles. "I got the latter. It's under my hoof."
"Where are you!? Haven yelled.
"I'm on the other side of the mountain of bubbles!"
"Which mountain of bubbles!?"
"Uhh...the big one!"
"That's it! Does anyone see PIpp!?"
"No my queen!"
"I can't see anything!"
"Me neither!"
"UGH! Why do I even keep you guards around!?"
"Uh...because it's tradition and if you fire us all our families will be poor and we'll most likely die?"
"Right. I want half of you to make your way to Zipp. Maybe we can catch her. I don't know why we didn't try that earlier."
Pipp scowled. "YOU MEAN I SWAM THROUGH AN OCEAN OF SOAP BUBBLES FOR NOTHING!?"
Yeah. You did.
"SHUT THE H*** UP!"
"Pipp! Watch your language! I swear you act more like your an adult with anger issues than a kid."
"Yeah yeah."
Half the guards began to swim toward the middle of the room, what looked like miles above them was little Zipp hanging on to the crystal chandelier.
"Zipp! Honey! Just let go!"
"Ma-"
"If they don't catch you, you'll land in a pile of bubbles! You...should survive!"
"OK! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee!"
She fell into the mountain of bubbles.
She disapeared.
It was silent for a moment.
And for the next five minuets.
And for the next five minuets.
And for the next five minuets.
By Scootaloo's name...she's dead...Oh well.
"WHAT ARE YOU STUPID HEADS DOING!? SAVE MY DAUGHTER!! THAT'S YOUR JOB!! TO KEEP US FROM DYING!!!" The queen yelled.
"YES MA'AM!!" One dove under the sea of bubbles.
It was silent for a moment.
And for the next five minuets.
And for the next five minuets.
And for the next five minuets.
By Scootaloo's name...he's dead...Oh well.
The guards looked at each other nervously.
"GOT HER!!" He jumped up out of the bubbles holding Zipp. Only to fall back in.
Ya know. Because you lost your ability to fly hundred's of years ago. Dude where have you been since everyone in g4 was killed off by Hasbro?
The room sighed in relief, Pipp finally finding where the guards and her mother were. Pipp looked annoyed but relived that her little sister was safe. "Mom. Will this happen often?"
"Very. Very. Possible."
"Oh great. What will it be next time? A pool full of sharks!?"
"Hopefully not. Now- will someone please take the princesses to their rooms? I need one of you to get someone to clean this room as well."
One unimportant guard character looked over at her. "What do we do with all the bubbles?"
"Put them in a giant sink."
"Uh..."
"Kiding. Just- let the kids from the elementary schools into here. The'll pop all the bubbles in less than half an hour." Queen Haven began swimming back fallowing her two children and a couple guards. They all looked terrified. Queen Haven was going to interrogate them about how Zipp got her hooves on a latter, soap and whatever chemicals she stole from the royal lab.
That would be a nightmare. Queen Haven was scary when she wanted to be. Pipp still needed to get used to having a little sister who needed more attention, and Zipp needed to take a class in what to do, and what not to do while in the palace.
1. Do not trick the guards.
2. Never lie to Mother.
3. Never make friends with three other ponies that are unicorn or pegasi and go on some epic quest without telling any one.
4. Never disobey rule number 3.
And 5: Don't. Cause. Soap bubble explosions. In. The. Dinning. Room.
Rule five was added just two minuets ago. Queen Haven sighed. "Well, this was one heck of a day." She looked to the tiny Pegasus sitting on her back. "You sure you don't have anymore tricks up your sleeve? Wait we don't have sleeves..."
Zipp blinked and looked to the left, then the right, and hopped off her mother's back and onto the floor where Pipp was walking. "Pipp!"
"Mhm?" Pipp looked down at her sister, bored.
"Bubbles."
"What?"
"Bubbles."
"Uh..."
Queen Haven opened the room to Zipp's nursery...and guess what happened next?
An avalanche of soap bubble's. That's what happened next.
Pipp trotted through the hall looking for her sister.
... she was supposed to be watching her sister.
I can't believe mother left me here. I'm old enough to go to the royal meetings...I guess I did loose Zipp but that doesn't count.
Pipp would ask the guards if they knew where Zipp might be, but they would probably report it to her mother and Pipp didn't want to get yelled at again.
Let's see...if I were Zipp, where would I be? Pipp thought for a moment. Zipp liked high up places, so...maybe some of the balconies. But Zipp also liked stealing cake from the kitchen, and she liked playing with the guards. Pipp smiled. She knew exactly where her sister was.
The young princess turned left and then right. There was one pony in particular that Zipp liked to hang around because she would always play with her. That guard had been found multiple times asleep at her post, had left her post a couple of times to see some friends, and while running to get back to her post, she tripped and caused the whole cart of food for an important dinner with the counsel. Honestly the only reason she hadn't been fired was because Zipp would run away.
They knew that because during a week long break the guards had for the holidays, Zipp ran away and they found her later looking around town for her friend. Pipp didn't know why her mother didn't just make Cloudy into the royal babysitter instead of a guard. She would be a better babysitter than the maid. One of the maids, the one the queen would have be a babysitter to them when she would be away on a long trip, seemed like a nice old pony but after their mother left she basically became a general and forced Pipp to do chores and took away her phone, while the old pony played favorites and gave Zipp icecream and toys to play with.
Anyway, Pipp had no time to get upset. She knew where Cloudy's post was.
...It was by the kitchen. Queen Haven had made sure of it that Cloudy had one of the least needed jobs. The chefs could be guards if they wanted to. Pipp sighed and turned toward the kitchen.
"And three! Two! One! Blastoff! Zipp sores through the sky, the crowd cheers her name! Zipp! Zipp! Zipp!"
"WEEE!"
"Ehem?" Pipp interrupted. Cloudy had Zipp standing on a chair while she pushed it around the hall. "I believe your supposed to be on duty Cloudy."
"Sorry ma'am."
"It's quite all right. Next time you find Zipp running around alone, please bring her back to me or mom."
"Yes ma'am." Cloudy turned to Zipp and shrugged. "Sorry Zipp. You have to go back now."
Zipp scowled at her sister and hugged Cloudy's leg. "No go! No go!" The little princess was just not having it.
Pipp sighed. "Fine. Cloudy you're off duty. Go play with Zipp in the nursery."
"Yes ma'am!" Cloudy helped Zipp up on her back and began to run down the hall yelling, "Zipp takes to the skies!"
The princess was left standing alone in the hall. "I guess I'll get a snack while i'm here."
_______________
Cloudy enjoyed playing with Zipp. The young princess was always full of energy, always ready to play, but kindhearted and stubborn to. Cloudy picked up a toy sheep. "And the sheep says?"
"Baaa!"
"And the cow says?"
"Moo!"
"And the piggy says?"
"Oink!"
"Good! Let's see...hey Zipp? Do you want to learn how to play a game?"
"Yay!"
"Ok, here's the cards. Now you get half the cards and I get the other half. Then I put on of my cards in the middle. Then you put on of your cards on. If they match, you have to put your hoof on the pile and yell STRIKE! and you get the whole pile. If you get all of the cards in the whole deck, then you win."
Zipp starred at her pile of the cards and laughed. "STRIKE!"
"Yes. Now see I put my top card down on the floor, seven of feathers, and you put the card on the top of yours on to the card on the floor." Zipp fallowed her instructions and put the card down. It was a three of clouds.
They continued for three or four more turns until they both reached a ten of lightning. Zipp squealed and placed her hoof on the deck before Cloudy could and yelled. "STRIKE! STRIKE! STRIKE!"
"Wow your fast. Now you take all the cards from there and put them in your pile." Zipp slowly slid the small stack of cards over to her eyeing Cloudy as if she didn't trust that the cards were now hers.
Cloudy smiled and put another card down, then Zipp picked the same card out of her deck. Cloudy won that set, but it wasn't to much of a win, it was only two cards. Pipp joined in the game after some beging from the other two, then when Queen Haven showed up, all three of them begged her to play. The game went on for another hour with them laughing. Zipp didn't laugh and instead remained as serious as possible, plotting her moves.
