> The Transfers And Canterlot High - Equestria Games Rewritten, Book 1 > by TheGathering > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Backstory > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before the move to Equestria City happened, it was a well known fact in Panem City that Cato Hadley, his adopted younger brother Cameron Spears, Urchin Hook, and Marvel Sanford were very close best friends. Friends since childhood, the four of them were at times inseparable. Due to the fact that their parents were friends with each other, it was perhaps, in the eyes of some, only natural that these four distinct kids would become friends. Due to the four’s shared love of music, they formed a band called “The Careers”, a reference to their nickname in school due to them seemingly making it a Career out of being perfect honor students, despite the occasional bumps in the road. Of the four of them, each had their own unique personality quirks and traits that made them more of a oddball combination of friends than anything else. Cato was the oldest of the group, at 17 years old. Born in District 2, he was a nerd who almost always had his head stuck in a book or was swinging a sword around, and he was by far the smartest and strongest of the bunch. Yet, despite being the intimidating mass of muscle he had developed himself into since fifth grade, he had a soft side to him as well that almost no one except his family, and on some occasions his friends in private, ever saw. In the world of Panem High, showing your emotions was viewed as a sign of weakness, and Cato found it way easier to hide his emotions behind the calm, collected, and confident mask he had developed in between school years. Little did anyone ever realize though, that he also had a bit of a psychotic monstrous side to him, that he almost never shown because it scared him to death about what he could do if he let his dark side take control. He was in short, the intimidating kind hearted boy scared of his own shadow in a sense. Cato’s adopted younger brother, Cameron, was the loose cannon of the four and perhaps the crazy guy of the group as well. At 16 years old, he didn’t have as much muscle as his older brother, but he had the brain power to match. Due to having Autism and ADHD, Cameron’s a bit of an impulsive teen, reined in only by the respect for his older brother’s decision making. He, too, had a bit of a dark side, but for the most part, kept it hidden beneath a mask of always staying positive 99.9% of the time. Yet, when people asked him about why he had those black scars running up and down his arms and legs, he would always give them an intimidating look, which meant that he really didn’t like people asking him that question. Not matter the circumstances though, those violet eyes of his always meant that there would be plenty of girls attracted to him, much to his discomfort at this point. Urchin Hook was, by all accounts, a small, curly haired boy with a big heart. Born and raised by a loving family in Panem City’s District 4, otherwise known as the fishery district, he has always enjoyed fishing with his father and due to the enormous amount of time he spent going fishing with his father which by the time he reached age of 14 years old made him the youngest of the group, he now has rather abnormal muscle compared to other scrawny kids his age. It wasn't as much as Cato's, but it fell between Marvel and Cameron. At school, the kids all called him "The Little Shark" because of how short he was compared to his three other friends. It was a nickname that to be honest, he really didn't mind it all that much. Either way, it didn't stop him from being the most empathic person of the group. While Urchin can handle a sword well, he prefers the trident and spear since he used those two most. Last of all, there was Marvel Sanford. A tall, lanky brunette, he had been taught how to hunt by his dad since they lived on the more rural, poorer edge of Panem City's District 1 near the forests. As the nearest supermarket was two miles of notorious highways known for traffic jams from Marvel's old home, his dad taught him how to use the spear and knife for hunting. He mainly used a spear while training since he was most familiar with it. He was a bit of a joker, albeit a better one than Cameron. Like Cameron, while he could be funny at times, he can become really serious when the situation called for it. Before he met Cato, Cameron, and Urchin, Marvel was called "Beanstalk" in elementary school up until fifth grade, a nickname he really didn't like. After he met them, however, much to his relief, barely anyone has called him that since. It was pure coincidence that their parents all found better jobs over in Equestria City, so by chance, the four of them found themselves moving to Equestria City, where also by chance, their new homes made them next door neighbors. It only took a day for their parents to enroll them in Canterlot High, on a Saturday, the day after they moved in, which gave the four at least a little bit of time to adjust to their new homes. On Monday, though, none of them could ever have imagined, as Cato's dad drove them to Canterlot High in his car, what would await them. They had been used to the competitive nature of Panem City's school system, and even though they really didn't like it that way, they put up with it because they really didn't have any other choice. Even so, when they arrived at Canterlot High on Monday, August 23rd, none of them could have imagined the series of events getting out of Cato's dad's car would set in motion. On that day, their whole world... changed. > Hope > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The moment the four stepped out of the car, it was like every eyeball had decided to zero in on them. All of that, just instantaneously. The four boys all scan the area, and feel like they've stepped into something way worse than Panem High. Except for a few, malicious snickering students, the area is mostly full of emotionless and sad faces. It's too much, even for Cameron, who can feel the doom and gloom hitting him emotionally full force. "W-What the h-hell is going on here?" he gasps, stuttering in despair. Marvel doesn't say a word, and no matter how much he wants to, he can't because the scene in front of him is just heartbreaking. For the first time in his life, the lanky brunette is just speechless. Urchin is trying hard.. really, really hard to prevent himself from collapsing into despair like Cameron, but he finds it harder and harder to do so as time goes on. Somehow, it's Cato who doesn't feel paralyzed by the doom and gloom around him. As he looks around, his brain is trying to process what he's walked into. Okay.. this is definitely bad.. like real, real bad.. my family really wouldn't have tolerated this. The school looked much nicer from what my parents were saying, guess that wasn't the case really. No matter.. guess I have to find and end this suffering. At the moment, all four boys are drawn by a girl's scream to a pack of malicious brats surrounding a group of girls, all terrified at their tormentors. In an instant, Cameron goes from despaired to enraged for some reason, and takes off running at them. The sudden change of mood electrifies Marvel and Urchin and soon, they're running at them mad with a bear's fury. Cato only sighs before he gets struck by a flash of howling manic enraged red and then he's joining them in the mad rush at the girls' tormentors. Those malevolent dudes were too busy focusing on thinking about how they would torment their bullying victims today that they didn't see the four angry, silent teens barreling down on them until it was too late. Cameron slams into the back of the student closest to him with his shoulder very, very hard, causing the kid to fall over in agony. Another one tries to go after him, but gets kicked in the nut sack by Urchin and thrown down to the ground by the 14 year old before he gets kicked in the nut sack again, this time even harder than the last. Marvel shoves one to the ground, then trips the other one coming at him with his leg, before punching the first one in the nose very hard and kicking him in the balls hard, and as the one he shoved goes down, he ducks to avoid the second one swinging his backpack like a club at him and hits the second guy with his own backpack, knocking him out of the fight. Cato immediately grabs the closest perp he can find, a senior, and immediately to punch the dude in the jaw hard with his fists, before flinging him to the ground, leaving the senior groaning in pain while clutching his jaw. Another one of the bullies swings his backpack at Cameron, who to everyone's amazement, literally stops the swung backpack with his hand like it was nothing, then uses the backpack to fling the kid onto the ground, who then takes a stomp to the balls by the violet eyed blonde. Cato slings his backpack at two more perps, knocking out both of them. The sound of the brawling attracts the rest of the group of perperators, and they scramble into the fight. A black haired angry senior gives Cato a left hook, causing the blonde to stagger a little. The perp smirks, and prepares to strike Cato again, only to tackled to the ground and have his head slammed into the ground twice by Cameron. Marvel karate kicks one in the side in the stomach hard, causing his opponent to fall to the ground in pain, clutching his side. The lanky teen is then tackled by another kid and punched in the face, but this only results in said tackler getting head butted by Marvel and then overpowered by the tall teen, who then repeatedly punches his face. Cameron, meanwhile, is busy giving one dude the biggest wedgie of his life when another tries to hit him from behind. Cameron ducks, causing the one trying to punch him to eventually end down on the ground due to him getting dizzy from spinning around after his punch missed. Soon enough, he's clutching his nut sack in pain after Cameron stomps on it twice. By now, there's only a dozen bullies facing the four savage transfers. All 12 of them go on the attack, expecting them to finally show these four their place. Unfortunately for them, it doesn't go that way. Cato and Cameron, who are set upon by 9 of them, don't hold back in their brutal smackdown of their opponents. Soon, 2 kids are knocked out cold, 3 are clutching their nutsacks in pain, one is clutching their face, another is clutching his side, and the last two have been scared by the beatdown so much that they crapped their pants. Marvel takes the two coming at him in style, wedgie-ing one kid and tossing him to the side before jabbing his extended arm into the other's ribcage hard, causing the teen to fall down to the ground before Marvel hauls him up by his shirt collar and proceeds to kick the boy in the nut sack twice, before repeatedly punching his face so much that by the time he tosses the kid back down to the ground, it's a swollen mess. As for Urchin, he only has to swing his backpack hard into the kid's face to knock him out of the fight. Finally coming down from the raging brutal high, the four teens stare in disbelief at the carnage around them and what they had done. That is, until Cato starts laughing and the other three join in and hug him. "Not bad, not bad at all.." he says. "Yep, we're still a team to the very end" Marvel says as he and the others walk inside the building, not knowing that someone had filmed the savage brawl in front of the school and was now sending it to the rest of the student body. ------------------------------------------------ Needless to say, no one seemed to want to be even near the four teens in any of their classes for the first part of the day up until lunch. For their part, Cato and his friends didn't do anything, even though deep down in their hearts, they felt pity at those emotionless and stressed kids that didn't come near them, enough that it caused their hearts to ache. They were still aching as the four of them sat down for lunch at an empty table. "Seriously though, what the hell have these kids been before? The pain I'm sensing feels so great it's enough to break my heart!" Cameron said, as they all ate their lunch. "Yeah, same. Like, I feel fucking worthless for not being able to help them" Marvel replied, while Urchin nodded. Cato was about to respond but then, the sound of a loud sustained crash filled the room. All four turned around. There, a few of the girls from earlier were on the ground covered in their lunch on top of each other while the others stood frozen in fear as the ones the guys had beat down earlier had tormented them. Cato looked at the other three, and they nodded. They got up and walked over to the spot, angry looks on their faces. Once again, their leader, the one who had managed to punch Cato in the face, didn't realize what was coming towards them until he felt Cato's breath on his neck. He turned around, and stared back with anger on his face. "Is there a problem here?" Cato asked, with an extremely angry look on his face that made their leader audibly poop his pants. Embarrassed, he and his friends ran off without saying another word. But as Cato and his friends went to help the girls up, they heard the sound of clicking heels behind them. Turning around, they could see other students cowering in fear as a girl in a biker's jacket with red and yellow hair like a sunset walked towards them, a malicious smirk on her face. "Here comes more trouble" Cameron whispered to Cato as the girl deviously laughed. "Well, well, well. Seems like someone's dumb enough to help the loser crowd. Boys, if I were you, I'd do the smart thing and abandon those losers and join the popular kids with me." Her smug smirk was completely shattered by Cato's response. "You can go to hell and fuck off." She turned angry and ran off, shouting, "I hope you four recognize your mistake! Because if you don't, you'll rue the day you messed with Sunset Shimmer!" All eyes in the Cafeteria, except for his younger adopted brother and their two friends as they helped the girls that saved earlier up off of each other, turned to Cato. The tall blonde just sighed before he looked down and smirked. "Hanging out with Sunset fucking Shimmer, my ass. That girl is a bitch." In two sentences, a feeling that hadn't been present in the bulk of the Canterlot High student body made its presence felt. A feeling so unfamiliar that its presence was like a lifesaver. Hope. > Their Brutal Kind-Hearted Saviors 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was hard to explain why the girls that Cato, Cameron, Urchin, and Marvel had saved in the cafeteria had stuck around after school, as the four came out of their last class and then split up to find their lockers. Nevertheless, when each boy came to their locker, they were stunned to find themselves being hugged by the same girls they had saved. Cato, Marvel, and Urchin instantly gave them pets and hugs in return, while Cameron briefly hesitated for a moment before he did the same. Each of the boys took a moment to study the girls hugging them. Cato and Cameron, at least, had something in common: their old friend Clove, who was holding both their hands and smiling, as if it was the first time she ever smiled. For Urchin, he was being hugged by his old friend Rue, a lovely orange and yellow haired girl taller and slightly older than him, and a tall blonde haired girl. For Marvel, he had to deal with his old friends Glimmer and Foxface, as well as a blonde and blue haired girl and a brunette with a potato sticking out of her mouth. Cato, compared to his brother, had things easy. He only had to deal with his and Cameron’s old friend Clove, a tall blonde with an attitude, and a blonde in a cowboy hat that clung to his other arm. Cameron, however, was another story. Much to his dismay, the poor boy had to deal with not only Clove holding onto his hand, but also his and Cato’s old friends Amber, Marina, Lacey, and Juilet; a tall redhead in a ear muffin hat and a green lined shirt; a short black haired girl with twin pigtails; a purple haired girl with what sounded like a British accent, a blue haired girl and a shy pink haired girl; a brunette girl with a flower on her dress, a tall blonde wearing sunglasses, another brunette in purple with a skull on her shirt, and a shirt brunette wearing sports gear with a number one on her jersey. All told, it was starting to get very hard for Cameron to breathe. Cato noticed, and he spoke up. “I think you girls may want to get off my adopted younger brother before he suffocates” he said, causing the girls to get off of him, before the girls that are not his and Cameron’s old friends all squeal in delight. “Eeee! He’s your adopted younger brother?” “Oh my god, with those scars on his arms.. uuuunnhh, he is so cute!” “He’s the cutest boy I’ve ever seen!” “For realsies, he is so so cute!” Cameron was turning redder than a tomato, he was blushing so hard. After a while though, Cato had to noogie Cameron on the head to get him back to normal. “Hey!” he whined. “What was that for?” “You were looking like a lovesick puppy blasting off into space, bro” Cato replied. “Now come on.” Cato walks away, followed by the girls, and Cameron hesitates for three seconds trying to think about what the heck just happened before he finally follows after them. “Hey! Wait up!” ——————————————————————— Cameron sat up in his bed back in his and Cato’s room that night, staring up at the ceiling. Aside from being reunited with some of Cato and his’ childhood friends, he had met a lot of other girls too, some of them who seemed to be interested in his older brother and their friends. Mina Carolina. The Sisters Lynn Jr., Leni, Lori, Luna, and Luan Loud. Adagio Dazzle. Sonata Dusk. Sasha Braus. Carol Pingray. Sam Sharp. Wendy Corduroy. Rarity. Fluttershy. Applejack. He smiled at the ceiling. Even though tomorrow the four of them would begin their mission of making the girls’ and Canterlot High’s lives better by ending the bullies’ reign, for now, he took comfort in the fact that due to a cry for help, he became a shining light for others. > Old Friends and New Enemies > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- When the guys got to Canterlot High the next day, they were rather surprised to see the girls waiting for them there for a moment before they realized why. Since they had seen them practically take down their tormentors almost flawlessly yesterday, it would make sense that they would feel comfortable around the kids that dared to stand up against the ones that figuratively owned the school. Of course, they weren't the only ones standing there. The rest of Cato and the guys' old friends were there too. Thresh, Ryan, Juliet, Noah, Katniss, Peeta.. the rest of the former group of 25 that met in fifth grade and were inseparable until the end of middle school were back together again. Of course, while that was going on, all of them heard the voice of a familiar malicious kid who had punched Cato in the face the day before. "Heh, seems the losers actually have friends." Cato and Cameron turned around and the angry, vicious stares emitting from the two siblings made the black haired punk back off and leave with the rest of his crew. "I swear, that kid and that red and yellow haired bitch get on my nerves" Cameron sighed. "Who the hell are those two?" Thresh responded almost immediately. "Robbie Valentino and Sunset Shimmer, aka a match made in hell. The King and Queen of Bullying. Robbie was, I believe, Wendy's ex-boyfriend who broke up with her and started bullying her after Sunset Shimmer came along and corrupted him after she broke up with Flash Sentry. They're not dating, a fact that I know to be true because both of them have actually stated they're not interested in dating the other and have proven with their actions that they only consider each other as buddies, which is a small comfort. But anyways, it's said that anyone that messes with them has their entire life ruined, so it's best to stay away from them, unless of course..." He stopped there, sighing. "Of course what?" Lori asked Thresh. "...you happen to be Cato, Cameron, Marvel, and Urchin" Thresh finished, as all of the aforementioned boys' friends turned to see them with dumb grins on their faces looking at each other. "You guys thinking what I'm thinking?" Cato said to the other three, who nodded. "No" said a worried Peeta. "Let's go" said Cato, and the four of them jogged into Canterlot High. "Hey guys, please no-" Peeta started, but the four teens were already moving. Turning back to the others, he groaned. "Ooooh, here we go again." "Again?" asked Sasha. "What does he mean by-" "Basically, whenever those four feel like doing something that probably involves danger, there's no stopping them and the rest of us get dragged along for the ride" said Noah, as he and the group from Panem High jogged after the four teens. The girls from Canterlot stood there for a moment, speechless, as they tried to comprehend the fact that their four saviors were willing to take on their tormentors and try to end them for good in order to make their lives' better. It gave them a rather warm feeling that up until now, only their families had been able to give them. Comfort. Comfort in the fact that they were willing to try and make a change. Practically none of their classmates before they came along ever had that in them. It really was a signal that their fortunes were changing, and that there really was hope that things at Canterlot High were going to change. Then they all looked at each other, blushed, and then followed after Cato, Cameron, and their friends. ----------------------------------------- It really didn't long for Cato, Cameron, Marvel, Urchin to notice that the bullies had been up to something when they walked in. Students were on their phones, giggling and laughing and talking about how stupid and weird someone was. Then, someone thrust a phone in the four boys' faces. "Dudes, look at this Twilight Sparkle girl! Isn't she dumb as hell? Hahahaha" said the guy holding the phone. Cato, Cameron, Urchin, and Marvel all studied the picture closely. As the guy went on laughing about how stupid this 'Twilight Sparkle' was, the four of them all realized something. This wasn't a picture of someone doing something dumb and hoping someone wouldn't notice. This was someone that was doing dumb things almost as if she wasn't used to how things worked on this planet. As if she was from another world entirely.. The four of them looked at each other with the same creeped out face and knew that they had realized what this actually was. Sunset was mad at this girl for some reason, and was trying to ruin her life. But why? None of them knew at the moment, but as they pushed past the kid and headed for their classes, what they did know is that they needed to find this Flash Sentry and Twilight Sparkle.. and fast. "Urchin, you and I will look for Twilight Sparkle after classes. Marvel and Cameron, you two look for Flash Sentry" Cato spoke as the four of them went into their first class. The other three nodded, knowing that Cato telling them to split up after class meant that he had a plan, and he was already starting to put the plan into action. ------------------------------------------------- After classes, the boys headed to their lockers before starting to look for their respective targets. Most of the girls and their own friends had already gone home for the day, meaning that the four were free to search. It didn't take long for Cato and Urchin to be drawn to two different scenes. For Cato, the sound of arguing led him outside to where he found Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and a pink haired and a rainbow haired girl arguing about something, and beyond them, was the girl called Twilight Sparkle. From the sounds of the argument, it seemed that each girl was angry about mean texts the other had sent them in the past, which confused Cato. When they were around him and Cameron, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack didn't seem angry at each other, which may have been due to reasons involving him and Cameron's attractiveness. Anyway, this simple observation made him completely doubt that they sent the texts to each other, then something Thresh had told him about Sunset Shimmer, specifically when she first appeared at the school, came up in the conversation. Cato didn't take long to put two and two and growl. Son of a bitch, that Shimmer somehow hacked their phones and sent them those messages just to ruin their friendship! But why? Either way, it didn't matter. At that point, Cato snapped and started ranting. "Oh for fuck's sake, get a hold of yourself, girls! No one knows you better than yourself, jesus fucking christ. If the one you're accusing of sending you that message denies it and knows in their hearts that there was no way in hell they could have sent them that message, then they're not at fucking fault! News flash, people.. if the person you're accusing didn't do it, then there's obviously a third party involved, and that probably means whoever did this is most likely that bitch Sunset Shimmer! So, for god's sake, realize that it's not the other's fault for your friendship being destroyed, and apologize!" It worked. The five girls stopped arguing and apologized to each other. As they did, Twilight walked over to the monstrous boy. "You sure do have a way with words, Cato" she said. Cato just shrugged. "I'm a Hadley, and my family has a talent of making things happen through our words" he replied. -------------------------------------------- Urchin, meanwhile, had something of a different sort happening. He stood up against the wall, overhearing a conversation between Sunset Shimmer and Adagio and Sonata and another girl who Adagio and Sonata called Aria. From what he could tell, Sunset was telling them to stay away from him, Cato, Cameron, Marvel, and the others lest she reveal what they truly were to the world. They cried and wailed and promised to stay away from them, causing Urchin to get angry. Soon, Sunset walked away smirking and Urchin made his move, walking over to the three, who backed away from him in fear for a second before they hugged him. "There, there. I'm here. First though, what was Sunset Shimmer talking about?" he asked. What he learned only confirmed what he, Cato, Marvel, and Cameron had suspected from the picture of Twilight. She was indeed from another world called Equestria, and was an alicorn princess. Adagio, Sonata, Aria were actually Sirens who were banished by a pony named Starswirl The Bearded over 5,000 years ago, and had through their experiences with other humans, now wanted to change. Unfortunately for them, Sunset Shimmer somehow learned of their secret and threatened to make the world hate them forever by exposing their secret unless they let themselves become punching bags for her and her bully friends. They had refused, only for Sunset to brutally beat them until they reluctantly accepted. Urchin was fuming, really fuming. This changed everything. He had to find Cato, Cameron, and Marvel and tell them about these revelations. The stakes had gotten higher and the pieces were falling into place about what Sunset's bone to pick with Twilight was. The only question was, why? > Sowing The Seeds > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, Marvel and Cameron had managed to find Flash and recruit him to their side, as well as some of Wendy's former friends. They went back to Cato and Urchin, smiles on their faces. But when they saw Urchin and he told them what he had already told Cato, their smiles vanished, replaced with fury. "That fucking bitch" Cameron hissed. "How could she?!" "Doesn't matter what she does" Marvel patted his angry friend. "We're taking her down regardless." "Agreed" said Cato. "We help Twilight get the crown and take down the bullies in the process. Because Hadleys never back down to any bully." The four of them left the building, not noticing Robbie glaring at them from the shadows of the bushes. "You stupid punks" he spat through his teeth quietly. "You're never going to make those girls lives better." He probably should had gotten a psychology check though, because he was about to understand how unstoppable Hadley Brand Defiance was over the next few days. ----------------- Cameron found himself staring at a family photo of Lynn Jr, Luan, Luna, and Leni’s family that Leni had given him not too long ago. There was some thing about it that made him feel angry, but he didn’t know what. Little did he know, he was about to find out. > No Such Luck: Cameron’s Fury > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It’s when Cameron first sees Lincoln Loud sleeping outside of the house that red flags go off in his mind. He and Cato rush up to the boy after getting out of the car in the Louds’ driveway, asking the kid what’s wrong. When he hears about Lynn Jr’s superstition that Lincoln is bad luck and him being forced to wear a squirrel suit by his entire family, his anger level goes through the roof. As a result, neither Cato nor Lincoln, who just stands there and does nothing, can stop him from violently kicking the back door to the house straight off its hinges with one angry kick. The sight of an enraged Cameron standing next to the broken door is enough to make the rest of the Loud Family gulp. “Will one of you people care to fucking explain to me what’s the big idea with making your only son sleep outside the fucking house and wear a fucking suit because he’s bad luck?! Like, what the hell is wrong with you people?!” Cameron yells. He’s beyond angry. The boy is practically seeing red through his violet eyes. The lack of an answer only makes him angrier. “Well?! Speak up! Or else, I’m going to start beating the shit out of people here-“ Cameron starts, but is silenced by Cato trying to hold him back. “I apologize for the language my adopted younger brother and I am using, but seriously.. do you people have a fucking problem?!” Cato screams. “Like, he’s supposed to be part of your family and yet, you’re forcing him to sleep outside of the house because he’s bad luck?! In the Hadley Clan, you might as well sealed your own death sentence for doing such a thing!” Cameron calms down and Cato lets go of him, but he can tell Cameron is still fuming. “Since you’re treating him like a pile of garbage, I honestly think we’ll just take him with us and show him what a true family is!” Cameron barks, as he walks out, picks off a sobbing Lincoln, and heads for Cato’s suburdan. “It’s fine, Lincoln.. It’s fine.. They maybe family to you, but they can’t hurt you anymore.” This manages to calm the kid down, and he starts giving Cameron hugs. Cato smiled at the two of them, and turns back with an angry face towards the Louds. “You want him back, I suggest you clean up your fucking act towards him” he snaps, and then leaves as well. The Louds look at each other in the aftermath, then they all start crying, especially Lynn Jr, Luan, Luna, Leni, and Lori for breaking Cameron’s, Marvel’s, Urchin’s and Cato’s hearts, and Lily, for losing her only brother. ———————————————————— “She did WHAT?!” Marvel shouts through the speaker. “Lori joined in her sisters in kicking Lincoln practically out of the house” Cato replies as he wheels the Suburdan into his own driveway. “Bro, that is just fucked up!” Marvel screeches. “Yep. And don’t worry, Cameron had no problem letting them know it was” Cato says to him as he watches Cameron and Lincoln have fun times together in the back seat. It was a bright moment that did nothing to lighten the dark picture, though. “I mean, seriously, bro… like, words cannot describe how fucking messed up it is.. like, that’s just going through hell! Like, I proudly support what you and Cameron did, except the part about breaking the door. Other than that, I would have done the same thing!” Marvel tells them. “Thanks Marvel, for being a real supporter” Cato says. By this time, Cameron and Lincoln have already entered the house and Cameron is busy explaining to his and Cato’s parents about Lincoln’s situation. “Oh, the pleasure is all mine.. cause I’m Marvelous!” Marvel jokes as Cato ends the call, then examines the situation. Sirens, a family that is screwed up a bit, a girl from another world, and a high school with bullying issues.. great, just great.. > Preventing Shutdown > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cato had a funny feeling that Sunset would try something the next day, so while his brother and Lincoln were still asleep, he got himself ready and drove out to Canterlot High early the next morning. Since by the time he arrived there were only a few people in the building, he was free to walk around and look for the Fall Formal decorations. Finally locating said decorations in the gym, he noticed a bit of a rise in the terrain located inside one of the nearby hedges. Since he had the fortune of bringing his tripod camera with him today, he used his technological expertise and knowledge of camouflage to set up and hide a camera setup that would allow him to get pictures on his phone of stuff going on inside the gym with 2 photos every 10 minutes after school had started. He chuckled to himself after he was done, knowing that no one, not even Sunset, would ever suspect that there would be a camera there, taking photographs of whatever she tried to do. It was almost too easy. Walking away from the bushes, he had just set himself up on the steps when Robbie came into view. Both teens glared at each other, before Robbie broke the silence. "Early morning person?" he asked. Cato nodded in reply. "So am I, always had a habit at waking up at the butt crack of dawn in the late spring - summer - early fall months, to be honest" Robbie continued. "Hey.. uhm.. Cato, can I tell you something? Promise you'll keep this secret." Cato nodded, eager to hear what Robbie had to say. "So.. uhm.. look.. about me being a whole bully thing, the truth is.. I never wanted to be this way, honest to god.. Sunset threatened to make Wendy's life a complete living hell if I didn't become her lackey.. like, I knew I wasn't perfect, but I didn't want to have to deal with the conscious aftermath of being the reason my ex-girlfriend committed suicide due to Sunset bullying her. Like, I had no choice, man. Honestly, even with all the other chicks surrounding your adopted younger brother, I personally approve of Wendy being with him. She's more happy when she's around than she is around me now. I honestly wish.. that I could get a chance to tell her the truth and apologize, because this whole being a lackey for a bitch like Shimmer.. the guilt eats at my insides every single day. It absolutely sucks." Cato had to do a double take at what he just heard. So Robbie is another victim of Shimmer as well? Who would have thunk. Either way, he was just one more traumatized soul just begging for the Sunset nightmare to end. So, Cato put his hand on Robbie's shoulder. "Cameron, me, Marvel, and Urchin.. we're going to end Sunset's reign once and for all.. and then you'll get your chance" Cato said, causing Robbie to smile and playfully hit Cato on the shoulder. "I guess I'll see you around later, Hadley" Robbie said as he walked into Canterlot High. "Same to you, Valentino" Cato called out before following in Robbie's footsteps a few minutes later. --------------------------------------- When lunch came around, Cato decided to check his photos. Sure enough, there were two photos of Sunset watching gleefully as Snips and Snails trashed the Fall Formal decorations. Hacking into the school printer, Cato printed off copies of the two photos off of his phone and picked them up without anyone noticing. And not a moment too soon, for as soon as he came out of the library, he ran into Flash. "Yo Cato!" he called out. "Principal Celestia just called down Twilight to the principal's office! Apparently, Sunset Shimmer said she destroyed the Fall Formal Decorations!" Cato clenched his fist and then handed him the photos. Flash was amazed. "How.. How in the hell did you get this?" "I have a brain.. and I was acting on a hunch. Now, get to the principal. Let's blow some holes in Sunset's boat" Cato said gleefully. Flash nodded, took the photos, and ran off. -------------------------------------------- When Cato met up with Flash again, he was speaking with Cameron, Marvel, and Urchin after class. "How did it go?" Cato asked. "It went fine. For some reason, though, when they suggested holding the Fall Formal tomorrow, Twilight suddenly yelled no and then ran out the door. I don't know why" Flash said, then noticed that the four boys around him had all tensed up and were looking at each other with wide eyes. "What? What is it?" "Shit" Marvel finally said. "Guess there's no longer any reason to doubt Cato's theory. Flash, where's Twilight now?" "She was over at Applejack's place. Why?" Flash asked, confused. "No time to explain, dude. Fellas, we gotta get over there now!" Marvel exclaimed, as the four Careers headed to their cars and motorcycles. Flash stood there, speechless. He was shaken out of his thoughts by the sound of Urchin revving his engine. "Hey! You coming?" asked the curly haired boy, tossing him a helmet. Flash caught it, ran over, put it on, and got on Urchin's bike. Once on, Urchin sped off, following the other boys towards Applejack's place.. and answers. > The Truth Comes Out > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- At Applejack’s place, there was some awkwardness in the air since the Loud Sisters and the four guys in the room really weren’t on good terms with each other since yesterday. Either way, both had heard about Twilight’s moment and decided that this was their moment to find out and confirm the truth once and for all. Whatever happened, the truth would come out and the 4 boys would decide where to take it from there. Needless to say, everyone was surprised when Pinkie Pie basically blurted it all out. Any doubt about it was dispelled a few seconds later when Spike spoke as well. “Talking Dogs and Magical Girls..” said Marvel. “Hah..” This caused Cameron to elbow him in the ribs, causing Marvel to clutch them in pain. “Ow.. what was that for?” asked Marvel. Cameron didn’t respond. Twilight went on to explain that if she didn’t get the crown back before midnight, she would be stuck in their world for thirty moons. What she meant by that last part, Cato didn’t stop to listen for he was already literally dragging Marvel, Cameron, and Urchin out the door. “Alright, here’s the plan” he said, once they were outside. “We’re going to clean up that gym and make sure Fall Formal happens tonight. Understood?” The other three saluted. “Sir Yes Sir!” they all said. “At ease” said Cato. “Hey, uhm Cato..” Urchin said. “Does that mean I gotta drive Flash home and back?” “Yes.” “Oh okay” said Urchin, as the four, along with Flash who had walked out after hearing his name, went to their vehicles. Little did anyone guess that at that moment, Sunset was hypnotizing Robbie to do her bidding as punishment for telling Cato his secret. She was giggling gleefully, for she was plotting her play for the crown that night. > A Night To Remember Until It Becomes A Nightmare > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Needless to say, with the help of the others, the four boys succeeded in their goal. Now, the Fall Formal was back on for that night. In typical fashion, however, which in their circumstances would be reasonably understandable, the four of them were on high alert, eyes peeled for any signs of Sunset Shimmer causing trouble. The girls hung around in a large group, with the four’s male friends on the perimeter, fending off any unwanted male attention. That was easier done than said, for most of Canterlot High’s male students were visibly intimidated at the sight of Thresh. Either way, it was a quiet sector, and so far, nothing was going off track. Then, Robbie and his group arrived and Cameron immediately spotted trouble. Robbie’s eyes weren’t normal. In fact, they looked like he was in a trance. After 30 minutes, the girls headed to the girl’s restroom, followed by Cameron, at a distance. Soon after that, Cato headed to the men’s restroom. Had he known that Snips and Snails lay in wait with a baseball bat and a pocket knife behind the restroom door waiting to ambush him, he might have decided to follow Cameron and hold in his pee instead. But he didn’t, and so, as soon as the door to the restroom closed, Snips whacked him in the back of the head with the baseball bat and Cato fell to the ground, out cold. —————————————————— Meanwhile, Cameron stood by the ladies’ restroom door when he saw, out of the corner of his eye, the trance-induced Robbie and his pals heading towards him, with malicious grins on their faces. Cameron immediately stood between them and the doorway. “Out of the way, punk” Robbie sneered. “We just want to talk with the girls.” “You are not going to hurt them. You’ll have to get through me first!” Cameron shouted. “Fine. Take him!” Robbie shouted, and his goons charged Cameron. The first one drew his pocket knife and went to stab him, but Cameron was faster and kicked the boy by the waist back into two of his comrades, knocking all three down to the ground. One of them cut his cheek with his knife, but Cameron didn’t flinch and instead grabbed the boy by the pants and flinged him into several of his pals, knocking them down. One charged Cameron with his baseball bat. However, the violet eyed boy simply smacked the kid in the face, took his baseball bat while he was still dazed, and then shoved him into two of his friends, again knocking them to the ground. With a weapon in his hand, he was now able to use his training to disarm four more of his attackers that were also wielding baseball bats. Taking a baseball bat in his other hand, Cameron started dominating the opposition. He then sheaved one of the bats in his belt and continued the fight. He whacked one kid in the groin with the bat as he tried to stab him, then grabbed another kid by the shirt and pushed him underneath two of his friends, sending both of them down to the ground. By this time, the girls had noticed the brawl that was going on outside of the restroom and hunkered down inside of it, wishing that Cameron would remain safe. The no holds barred whack-a-thon continued for another 3 minutes, before there was only Robbie left. He gave Cameron the middle finger. “This isn’t over, punk-boy!” He shouted, and ran off, leaving Cameron to survey the carnage. ——————————————————————— In the chaos that had developed when Snips and Snails kidnapped Spike, the other three (Flash, Urchin, and Marvel) went looking for Cato. In their haste to get to Spike, Snips and Snails had forgotten to close the restroom door after leaving it open for a bit to prevent the smell of blood from stinking up the restroom. As such, it wasn’t long before the three of them found the unconscious, face bleeding blonde. “Cato! Cato! What the hell happened?” Cato came to after a few seconds, groggy and with great pain in both cheeks. He turned to face Flash. “I have no idea. I walked in and then somebody struck me from behind and knocked me out” he said to them, then noticed his cut-up face. “What the hell happened to me?! And where’s my suit?” “We can find that later” Urchin said, frantically. “Snips and Snails got Spike and they’re bringing him to Sunset.” “Oh shit, we got to hurry” Cato replied, and the other three bailed out as fast as they could. Cato followed, but stopped for a second when he saw his wrecked beyond repair Fall Formal Outfit burning to a crisp in the trash can. “Aw fuck, come on” he groaned, slightly saddened. “That was my favorite outfit.” Then, he jogged off. In the time that it took for him to get to the others, Sunset, Robbie, and Snips and Snails transformed into demons, and Robbie went back inside towards Cameron intent on shoving him out of the way with his new powers. Needless to say, this fresh confrontation only ended with Robbie overpowered and put into a choke hold by Cameron, who dragged him out to his brother. ————————————————— When Cato joined Flash, Urchin, and Marvel, the situation was looking grim. Sunset Shimmer had knocked down Twilight and her friends, who had stayed behind in the gym while the other girls went into the bathroom, and was going after the other students. Meanwhile, the other girls came out from the bathroom, only for Sunset to seize the three sirens and render them helpless while their energy was drained out of their amulets and into Sunset to give her more power. “This looks bad, guys” Flash stated. Just then, Cameron came over, dragging the demonized Robbie with him. Cato looked at the sight, and then had a lightbulb go off in his brain. Then, he saw Snips and Snails coming at them, eager to retrieve their overpowered comrade. Cato started barking orders. “Cameron, give me Robbie! Marvel, Urchin, hold off Snips and Snails! Flash, try to get to Twilight and her friends!” “What are you going to do?” Flash asked, as Cato got Robbie in a choke-hold and then set out towards Sunset Shimmer. “Probably the most craziest stunt I’ve pulled in my entire life” Cato replied, as Cameron joined Urchin and Marvel in keeping Snips and Snails occupied. When Cato was about 5 yards away from Sunset Shimmer, he raised his voice. “Hey, Shimmer!” Sunset turned around. “Shoot me.” > The Play That Saved The Dance/ Their Brutal Kind Hearted Saviors 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone stops and looks at Cato as the demonized Robbie thrashes in his arm-lock and the Demon that is Sunset Shimmer stares in a bit of shock. They all wondered what in the hell Cato is thinking, but it’s only clear to a certain few what he’s trying to do. He was basically playing chicken and fake out with a demon Sunset Shimmer. And in the midst of all this, no one notices Flash hurrying over towards Twilight and her friends. “You heard me, Shimmer. Now, go on. Shoot me. And we both go down and you win.” Cato knew what he was doing. All he was doing was buying Flash time to get Twilight and her friends to defeat Sunset. He just had to keep up the charade until they succeeded in doing that. He really tried not to think about if he was going to die doing this or not. He really didn’t want to think about that. “Go on. I’m just.. dead anyway. I mean, I always was, right? But I guess I.. didn’t know that till now.” Even to those that knew what Cato was doing, it was still heart breaking to hear his words. Even Cato himself felt a little heartbreak at what he was saying. But, he had no choice. He had to keep going or risk losing everything. And there was no way in hell he was going to let the latter happen on his watch. He had to do this. He had to succeed, for better or worse. The whole world was resting squarely on his shoulders and he knew it. He had to do it, for he had no choice at all in this matter. Life or death, victory hung in the balance. “How’s that? Is that what you want?! Huh?! Huh.. No.. Na Na Na. ….I can still do this.” He could tell from what he was seeing that even though Sunset had a fire ball ready to go, a part of her was still hesitating about incinerating Robbie, a weakness that Cato hoped to continue to exploit. How long that would last though, was anybody’s guess. “Oh, I can still do this. Just one more kill. Aside from being academically perfect, it’s the only thing I know how to do. Bringing pride to my family and to my school.” The hesitation, however, was now failing as Sunset regained her dark desires. She started to wind up, preparing to throw the fire ball at them. Cato prepared himself for what might be his last moments in the realm of the living. “But I guess at this point.. not that it matters now.” To his fortune, though, his number wasn’t up yet. As she was about to release it from her hand, she was hit from below and behind by combined waves of magic, causing the fireball to disappear and for Sunset to howl out in agony. Cato smiled and released Robbie who was transforming back into his human self at that moment, for he knew what that meant. Flash, you magnificent bastard. You came through just in time. Sunset saw Cato's smile and him releasing Robbie and knew what that meant. She gasped in horror after realizing what Cato had done. "You.. You faked me out?!" she screamed, causing Cato to smirk. "Yep, and you totally fell for it!" he shouted back, no remorse and all pride in his voice. Robbie's hypnosis ends and he looks around and notices what is happening, and breaks down crying in joy. Cameron, Urchin, and Marvel stop fighting their demonized opponents and watched as they transformed into their human forms, looking at each other and breathing a sigh of relief while grinning. It was over, finally it was over. They had won and succeeded in stopping Sunset’s plans. As they were doing that, Adagio and her sisters’ amulets stop emitting dark energy and then morphed their shape until they were now heart amulets. When they snapped out of their trance and saw this, they hugged each other and cried happily, knowing that they were freed from Sunset’s curse. Then as if by complete coincidence, the girls all ran towards the boy they were interested in. "CATO! CATO!" "CAMERON!" "URCHIN!" "MARVEL!" Each of the Careers found themselves caught in a pile of hugs from the respective girls interested in them, and practically everyone around them, aside from Twilight and Sunset, were amazed at the scene playing out in front of them. Then, they all formed a circle around the four boys, who all collectively gulped. "That.." started Glimmer, only to be interrupted by Applejack. "..was collectively the most stupidest stunt you four could have ever pulled, and it still worked! You had us all scared half to death. We all though we were going to lose you. Do you all have a death wish or something?!" she screamed, catching all four Careers off guard. It took a while before Cato answered. "I mean, in the heat of the moment, it was probably the only option I had. I mean, how else was I supposed to-" Cato starts, but gets cut off by Clove walking up to him, pulling his head down and kissing him square on the lips. The other girls squealed and the guys just went slack jawed. Clove pulls away and smiles. "Cato.. me, Applejack, and Lori all want to say that we all care about you.. and when you were doing the thing that saved us all, it made us realize something.. it made us realize that the person we wanted to go to the Fall Formal with was just standing in front of us this whole time. It was.. you" Clove says, then turns to Lori, who sighs and nods. "Look, Cato, me and my sisters, we are terribly sorry for abusing our only brother and breaking you and Cameron's trust. It hasn't been all that hard on me, but it's been especially hard on Lynn Jr, Leni, Luan, and Luna because they're all in love with Cameron" she says, causing gasps and squeals to echo throughout the group, which now had all of the Career's other friends gathered around. Lori turns and looks at Cameron, and smiles. "Honestly, I don't know how that boy managed to literally steal the hearts of four of my younger sisters and get on good terms with my brother at the same time without having to go through the madness of the Loud House, but I will admit, your adopted younger brother is something, Cato." Cameron smiles and turns red in the face and looks away embarrassed, and Cato just chuckles, before Sam speaks up. "Marvel.." she says. "Honestly, what happened with the others.. it was the same way with me, Sasha, Glimmer, and Finch. Seeing you fighting off those demons, it made us realize that we wanted you because we all fell for you. You're one of a kind." Marvel gets a stupid grin on his face, causing the other three to start laughing. It only stops as Rue continues the round of confessions. "I know this is starting to sound cliche" she says. "But, I think me, Adagio, and Carol saw the same thing in you, Urchin. That you were the one we wanted the most because we fell in love with you." Cameron now interrupts and basically pre-empts the other girls. "Wait so that means.. Wendy, Mina, Sonata, Amber, Marina, Juliet, Lacey, Rarity, and Fluttershy.. they all want me too?!" All the aforementioned girls' heads nod and blush, causing Cameron to become speechless. He just couldn’t believe it. "Sometimes, I will never understand my luck. Like, I will truly never understand how my luck is just absurd” he says, as the cops show up to take Snips, Robbie’s goons, and Snails away. “So, what do you say, boys? We’re all eager to share~” Clove says seductively, and the other girls just blush. Cato is just nodding his head, Urchin has a stupid grin on his face, and Marvel is so deep in thought that Cameron has to elbow him in the ribs again and make the decision for him. “What are you waiting for? The pros and cons?! Your answer should obviously be yes, nitwit!” Cameron says to Marvel, who groans in pain. This causes the others to laugh at poor Marvel, who only gets sympathy from the girls interested in him. “Note to self, never bring up the topic of multiple relationships around Cameron in the future” Marvel mutters while laying on his back on the ground, clutching his ribs. Then, Robbie comes up to Wendy. "Like, I'm sorry for being here. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for bullying you. Sunset made me choose between becoming her lackey and her making your life a living hell. I didn't mean to hurt you, I was only trying to save you from her wrath" he says, crying. Wendy hugs him in return. "Thanks. Nice to see the Robbie I know is still in there" she says. Robbie smiles. "Oh, and I think you do pair well with Cameron" he says before walking off, causing Wendy to blush. Just then, Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna walk up. "Nice work, you four. Now you did say you had a band" Luna says, a smirk on her face. It takes Cameron and Cato 5 seconds to put two and two and then, the two of them grin stupidly like they had won the lottery. Then, Marvel gets it 4 seconds later and blurts what the former two had figured out out loud. "Wait, don't tell me.. you're asking us to perform for the Fall Formal?!" he shouts, and Luna nods her head, causing the whole group of teens to burst into celebration. "Well, Cameron, guess we got to make a run home for the instruments.." Cato says, heading towards the Suburdan. "Yep" Cameron says, following his older brother to the car and heading to get the instruments, as everyone watched the two bloodied Careers walk away. Inside his brain, however, he was still processing the unbelievable night he was having. Saved the world, got multiple girlfriends now, and I get to perform in front of them! Awesome! > The Careers Heal A Community > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After getting the instruments to Canterlot High and he and Cato patching up their wounds, which weren’t too deep so gauze and bandaids and tape could fix them, Cameron dusted off the mic as the others took their places on the stage. After they were finished, he tapped the mic and got everyone’s attention, causing all the students, family members, and faculty in the gym to turn and look towards them. “So uh.. hello to you all. I’m Cameron Spears, Cato’s adopted younger brother and the boy that helped Cato save the students’ and faculty’s lives earlier this evening. And, if you didn’t notice until just now, me, Cato, Marvel, and Urchin are a rock band based off of Cato’s garage who we like to call ourselves The Careers. So, out of the bottom of our hearts, we like to perform a few of our own songs for you. This first one is for a certain family in the room that may have problems, but a few of the daughters in the family are attracted to me and who am I to say no to them? So anyway, here we go.” Lynn Jr, Luan, Luna, and Leni all blushed as the song started up and Cameron started to sing into the mic, with Cato and Marvel providing backup vocals. Crashing through the crowded halls, dodging girls like ping pong balls, just to reach the bathroom on time.. Hey Hey Hey Leaping over laundry piles, diapers you can smell for miles, guy’s gotta do what he can to survive.. In the Loud House, In the Loud House.. Duck, Dodge, Push and Shove. Cato now takes drums as Urchin steps up to the mic. “And now here’s something that’ll remind you of what we stand for!” Cameron says, as he starts singing again, with Urchin providing backup vocals. I hold the message that’s our rising hope! Hey, welcome to a special rising. Can you please stay on standby? Here we go! I’m in too deep to keep my sanity as the world around me comes to an end. I try my best to calm down my heart but with this overwhelming blow, I fall short. Still I hold it back, the desperation that’s swelling deep inside my soul. (<- Listen here for the rest of the song) The audience goes nuts at the song and the Careers smile. Cato, Marvel, and Urchin all look at Cameron and he nods. Cato takes over the mic as Cameron puts down his guitar. “This song is about Cameron, and what an awesome person he is” Cato says into the mic as this song starts. So, here he comes Right on time And he has class and quite a style All of his own and they all know him As The Death Baron He walks a line, one fond line No danger lies, he’ll be just fine He’s here today, and gone tomorrow He’s the Death Baron Cameron dances his heart out as the song continues. "Well thanks, and now here's a remix of the first song we played for you all tonight, and this one is special since number one, we just thought this one up on the fly before we got up here, and two, the girls hold a dear place in our hearts. So without further ado, here's Loud Love!" Everyone goes silent as the guys start into this remix, which starts exactly the same way the first song started, but with an addition with Marvel doing a building drum solo before Cameron starts singing into the mic. Wouldn't trade it for the World. Loud! Love! Loud! Loud! Loud Love! The four boys bow as the crowd explodes, and the Careers descend the stage to be engulfed by the girls they come to love, with particular emphasis on Cameron. Luna smirked. "We all love you too, and you're the best living loud boyfriend we could ever ask for." Cameron blushed. "I love you girls too." Then, all the girls kissed Cameron's cheek.. one at a time. Then, the teens all danced the hearts out the rest of the Fall Formal.
