Starlight and Trixie were going through Canterlot helping Trixie set up for a big magic show for the Festival of Friendship.
"Thanks for helping me with my fireworks Starlight, I thought you would just hang out with Twilight." Trixie playfully rolled her eyes.
"Aw come on Trix, I may hang out with Twilight a lot but I always try to make time for you." Starlight said happily.
"Trixie knows Starlight but either way thanks, this show will be grand and amazing like me." Trixie dramatically stated.
Soon more ponies showed up a Trixie then set off some of her fireworks making Starlight cheer.
Starlight and Trixie then saw smoke coming from the sky as they walked to the center of Canterlot.
"What's going on? Is this part of the Festival?" Trixie asked whispering.
"Not that I know of." Starlight whispered back.
Soon an airship appeared destroying the columns of some of the Canterlot Castle worrying Starlight.
A black hedgehog then brought out a megaphone and a podium and began speaking.
" Ponies of Equestria, we come on behalf of the fearsome, the powerful, the almighty...Storm King." the black hedgehog known as Grubber announced.
"And now, to deliver the evil, evil message, put your hooves together for Commander Tempeeeest!" Grubber announced happily.
A lavender unicorn then started walking off the ship as Princesses Celestia, Luna, and Cadence flew down from the castle.
"Tempest is it, how may we help you?" Celestia asked.
"Oh, I'm so glad you asked. How about we start with your complete and total surrender?" Tempest asked with a mix of sarcasm and maliciousness making Starlight worry.
Twilight then walked over next to the princesses and began speaking "Hi there. Princess of Friendship. Not exactly sure what's going on, but I know we can talk things out."
"Oh goody all four princesses, Here's the deal, ladies. I need your magic. Give it up nicely, please, or we make it difficult for everyone!" Tempest threatened.
"And why should we cower before you? There's one of you and hundreds of us." Luna asked incredulously.
"I was hoping you'd choose difficult." Tempest smirked as Storm Creatures then leaped off airships and began terrorizing ponies.
Tempest then began kicking an orb at the princesses, Princess Cadence tried to use a magic forcefield but the orb went right through it and petrified Cadence.
Starlight felt inclined to protect Twilight and began running up to her with her horn flaring but Trixie used her own magic to hold Starlight back and started running away holding Starlight with her magic.
"Trixie what are you doing?" Starlight asked irritated.
"Trixie is not letting her best friend turn into stone we have to run." Trixie said in fear as they hid in an alleyway.
"I have to go back for Twilight." Starlight cried out.
"You can't help her, you saw how Tempest overpowered Cadence and she's an alicorn." Trixie pointed out.
"I'm not leaving my friends behind." Starlight said confidently before a shadow began looming over them.
"My, my two rogue ponies, can't have you running off, you now serve the Storm King." Tempest said with a serious tone.
Trixie began shaking in fear while Starlight began flaring her horn.
"So you dare to challenge me huh, very well I warn you though you will fail horribly." Tempest laughed.
Starlight began blasting Tempest but the lavender unicorn dodged her attacks and began using her broken horn to attack Starlight, Starlight used a forcefield and dodged the attack, Starlight and Tempest then zapped each other again, Tempest did fall back a bit but got up easily but the lightning blasted Starlight badly sending her to the ground.
"Starlight!" Trixie yelled worried for her best friend.
"Hmph, pathetic." Tempest smirked at her fallen opponent. "Guards!"
Soon the Storm Creatures begin showing up and began cornering Starlight and Trixie.
Trixie began shaking Starlight. "Starlight, get up please." Trixie begged.
Starlight groaned and tried to get up but she was severely injured by Tempest's attack.
"Starlight!" Trixie shouted.
That was the last thing Starlight heard before she passed out.
Starlight woke up finding herself in cage, she tried to teleport out but her magic didn’t work.
This cage must be magic proof. Starlight thought bitterly.
Tempest then walked up to Starlight.
“Oh good, you’re awake, I thought I had finished you. And it would be a shame to let one of our new minions perish.” Tempest smirked.
“What do you want?” Starlight asked angrily.
“I’m here to make sure you didn’t escape.” Tempest laughed “There’s nothing wrong with that is there?”
“Ugh you won’t get away with this, Twilight will defeat you.” Starlight proclaimed confidently.
“Ah yes Princess Twilight, the one who fled from her kingdom. We’ve met.” Tempest said.
Starlight’s ears drooped at that,
Did Twilight really leave us?
She then shook her head.
No she’ll save us she always does.
“Now if you’ll excuse me I have a princess to catch.” Tempest laughed.
Tempest then left, leaving Starlight alone in her cage. She looked around Equestria and saw Trixie in a cage next to her looking as if she lost hope.
She saw it all, ponies were being forced to do the Storm Creatures bidding, some were trapped in cages. It was a horrible sight for her and she was helpless to do anything about it. And that made her feel depressed.
After a while she heard something a wagon was being pulled by two ponies and what she saw made her go cold, they got Twilight.
“No.” Starlight whispered “It can’t be.”
Starlight wanted do something so bad, break out of this cage and rescue Twilight but she couldn’t and that made her heart break.
Tears began pouring out, she felt it was hopeless now. Twilight was captured and she had no idea where the others were, Equestria was doomed and she was helpless in a cage.
Starlight tried her hardest to get out of the cage, she had to save Twilight no matter what.
Soon Starlight felt magic being sucked away from her, it was so painful, she even screamed a bit, the Storm Creatures laughed at her suffering, she glared at them but it did nothing.
Starlight she saw Storm Guards fighting something and when she squinted her eyes she saw it, it was Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Spike.
Starlight felt hope, now there’s a chance of saving Twilight and Equestria.
“You can do it guys.” Starlight whispered with a smile.
Starlight sat in her cage for a few more minutes before a magical burst of energy gave her back her magic. Soon ponies including her were released from their cages.
Starlight immediately embraced Trixie after they were released from their cages.
“They did it Trixie. They saved Equestria.” Starlight said happily with tears of joy.
Soon it is night time and we see Starlight and Trixie at the festival, they are shooting fireworks making a crowd cheer.
Starlight then saw Twilight with Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Spike, and Tempest and smiled, she knew that Tempest had redeemed herself since Celestia announced that she had helped save Equestria, she was even able to convince Grubber and the other Storm Creatures to turn good.
The crowd began to leave so Starlight took this opportunity to talk to Trixie.
“Hey Trixie, do you think we should go see Twilight and the others?” Starlight asked the show mare.
“You can do that but I am going to go enjoy the festivities.” Trixie told Starlight.
“Okay Trix I’ll come back to you later.” Starlight smiled at her friend before walking over to Twilight and the others.
“Hey guys.” Starlight said happily as she walked over to the gang.
“Starlight!” Spike said gleefully.
Spike immediately embraced Starlight “Oh man I was so worried we’d never see you or anyone else again!”
“Aw, well I’m glad to see you too Spike.” Starlight said a bit touched but also a bit guilty for letting him go through that emotional turmoil.
Spike let go of Starlight as the latter began speaking “Anyway I’m glad everything turned out okay in the end.”
“Me too, my friends and I went through a lot, we even had a fight.” Twilight said solemnly.
“Twilight ended up almost stealing a magical artifact out of desperation and the others well they weren’t taking the quest so seriously.” Spike explained.
“Yeah we probably should’ve been more careful.” Pinkie Pie admitted.
“And I shouldn’t have tried to steal the pearl.” Twilight sighed “Worst part is I said some stuff I didn’t mean.”
“Oh wow that must’ve been rough, sorry you went through all that.” Starlight apologized.
“It’s okay Starlight. It’s not your fault.” Twilight told Starlight.
“Guys, after everything that’s happened I have to say I really missed you.” Starlight said.
“We missed you too Starlight.” Twilight said embracing Starlight soon the rest of Twilight and Starlight’s friends minus Tempest who didn’t want to ruin the moment joined in.
Starlight knew that at the end of the day the magic of friendship would always be there for her no matter how far.
