> Ponyville's Crossroad Crisis. > by skytail > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > CHAPTER ONE: FROM MOBIUS WITH LOVE (NOT A LOVE STORY) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART ONE Many years ago in the beautiful land of Equestria, a mysterious evil arose. The ruler of the land, Princess Celestia, put a stop to it—or so she thought. One day, the stars attacked Equestria. Not even the elements of harmony that the princess used before could stop it. She prayed for something to help banish the evil from the land. All of a sudden a bright light flashed and there before her were seven Emeralds of different colors. The princess could feel the power they held and she used it, along with the elements, to lock the stars away to the farthest reaches of the universe. Fearing that the power would be used for evil, Princess Celestia used the power of the Emeralds to send them back from whence they came… “To this day, no pony knows were these Emeralds of chaotic power came from nor do they know why they appeared,” Twilight Sparkle read as she turned the pages of a book entitled Princess Celestia’s Secret Archive of History. “Emerald is more powerful than the elements,” she murmured to herself. “Is that possible?” Twilight closed the book and put it into her purple leather satchel and walked out of the archive room. She walked around the castle that was once her home, before she had moved to Ponyville, looking for her mentor, Princess Celestia. She found the princess in the gardens. “Princess, what can you tell me about these?” Twilight had levitated the book out and turned to the page describing the falling darkness and mysterious gems. “Twilight my dear student, you must not worry about this,” Celestia said, “but if you would like to know, all I can say is that although it was a dark day for Equestria, who or what sent the gift of those Emeralds took them back after I had no use for them. I know just as much about what it was as you do.” “ But Princess, what I have seen in the past is that darkness always returns and tomorrow is the Diamond Dust meteor shower,” reminded Twilight. The Diamond Dust meteor shower is an event that happens to Equestria every 753 or so years. “If my calculations are correct, then the darkness aRose around the same time as the last Diamond Dust meteor shower,” said Twilight. “What if that is how the darkness returns? What if—“ Twilight was cut off by the princess’s sweet voice. “Twilight, you have nothing to worry about. Please, the time has come for you to return to Ponyville.” Twilight understood, bowed her head, and started for the train station so she could return to her home in Ponyville. During the overnight train ride, Twilight entertained worries in the back of her mind about the potential return of the darkness to Equestria. The train arrived at the station early the next morning. Twilight quickly exited the train and headed for house, the Ponyville library. When she arrived at her front door, she heard movement coming from inside. “Hello. How may I help you, today?” she called as she walked inside. Her eyes almost jumped out of her head at what she saw. There, standing before her, was an upright blue hedgehog and a yellow two-tailed fox. The hedgehog began to speak. “Oh, hey there, perhaps you could help us.” PART TWO “Wha- What happened to the Chaos Emeralds?” Tails asked. The fox was a bit shaken up but trying to keep his composure. “Forget the Emeralds! Were are we?” exclaimed Sonic, the Hedgehog, “And were is Eggman?” “I’m not sure were we are but it looks like Eggman sent us here,” Tails answered as he looked around. “This does not look like Mobius—or anywere else we’ve ever been.” Sonic looked around. He and Tails were standing in the middle of a field with a few trees and the occasional bush or two. “Maybe if we go up that hill we will be able to figure out which direction to go,” Tails suggested. “Sounds like a plan,” Sonic said with a serious look on his face. They climbed to the top of a hill and looked across the valley. “I think that’s a town down there,” Sonic observed as he spotted what looked like a clock tower in the distance. “Let’s go!” Tails exclaimed as he twirled his two foxTails and began to hover in the air. Sonic took a few seconds to observe the path he would take. Fashioning a small grin, he sped up to a blinding speed of 85 miles per hour; trying his best to make sure Tails could keep up. It only took him a few minutes to get close to the town. “Hey, Sonic, look!” Tails yelled toward Sonic. Sonic skidded to a stop. “What’s up, Tails?” Sonic asked. “That looks like the town up ahead,” Tails answered, “There might be something there that can give us a clue to were we are.” Sonic and Tails walked through what they assumed was the town square. “Maybe if we find a library we can find out were we are,” Tails said as he looked around at the empty streets. “This is strange. Were are all the townspeople?” “Maybe they are all sleeping,” Sonic guessed. It was quite early. They continued to walk through the town. Sonic kept feeling as if someone or something were watching them. “Hey, look at this sign,” Tails pointed to a hand-painted wooden placard. “It says, ‘Ponyville Library.’” “Looks more like a tree than a library,” chuckled Sonic. They walked inside. “Hello? Is anyone here?” Tails raised his voice hesitantly. “Yeah. I’ll be right with you,” answered a voice from another room. A door across the room opened and a short, chubby, purple dragon with rounded green spikes running down his back entered the room. When he spotted the two, he looked confused, flinched, and took a step backwards. “Who…What are you? Please don’t eat me,” he whimpered loudly while shielding his face. “Whoa. Whoa. Don’t worry. We’re not going to hurt you little guy. We just want the librarian,” Sonic reassured the dragon. “Hello. How may I help you, today?” Everyone turned to look at the door from whence came the delicate voice. A purple pony with a dark purple striped mane and tail stepped into the room. After a moment of silence Sonic spoke. “Oh, hey there, perhaps you could help us.” PART THREE “Hey! What’s going on here?” Donald said as he looked at himself and then examined his group. “I think it’s these enchanted clothes those three fairies gave us. Remember when we were in the Pridelands? We were on all fours.” Sora concluded after a moment’s pause to think. Sora, usually a young boy, was on a quest and had recently landed on this new world with his two friends, Donald Duck—now a white griffon and Goofy—a tall coon hound who seemed to have had some kind of color change. Sora was very surprised by his new form. From what he could see, he was some sort of hooved character with what looked like a picture of his Keyblade and a crown behind it on both of his haunches. “What am I?” Sora asked after observing what he could of himself. “Some sort of Stallion.” Donald guessed. “Huck-chuck, you look more like a pony.” Goofy commented. “Maybe we should follow that path.” squawked Donald in his duck-like voice. “Sounds like as good a plan as any,” Sora agreed. The three stood up and walked down the path. Soon they came upon a huge Appleorchard. “What’s that sound?” Goofy asked. Sora stopped and listened. He heard what sounded like something beating against wood. They instinctively walked toward the noise. To Sora’s amazement, the noise was actually coming from a pony bucking at a tree so hard it was causing the apples to fall into the buckets around it. The pony spotted them. “Well howdy, Ah don’t buh-lieve we’ve had the pleasure of meetin’, “greeted the orange mare with a cowboy hat. “The name’s AppleJack,” the pony then began to shake Sora’s hoof vigorously. “Ow! I’m Sora and these are my friends Donald and a Goofy,” introduced Sora once he recovered from the handshake… “Or is it a hoof-shake?” Sora wondered to himself. “Ahm mighty glad ta meet ya’ll. Are ya new in town?” AppleJack asked. Donald was the first to answer. “Uh... no... We’re just passing through.” “Well this here is Sweet AppleAcres. If ya go down this road,” she pointed with her hoof, “then ya’ll will hit Ponyville.” “Hu-Yuck, thank ya kindly, Miss.” Goofy chuckled. The three said their farewells and travelled down the road. “We haven’t seen any Heartless yet.” Sora said after a while. “The gummi ships said that this world had darkness in it.” Donald answered. As they walked, the town of Ponyville came into view. “Welcome to Ponyville,” Donald read the sign outside of town. The trio walked into town looking at all the vendors and small shops. Suddenly, Sora heard a commotion…”Well, I’ve never seen these things before now. Right when you showed up! What kind of game are you playing?” a voice shouted, “Are you a spy?” Sora, Donald, and Goofy turned the corner. There they saw a light blue Pegasus with multi-colored hair and tail yelling at an upright blue porcupine-looking creature with red shoes and white gloves in front of a shop named Sugar Cube Corner. “Hey, Whoa. What’s going on here?” Donald asked Sora as they all stared. The blue, spikey animal opened his mouth to argue back when out of nowere, a dark-colored, bug-like creature appeared. “Heartless!” Goofy shouted. “Come on. Let’s get ‘em” yelled Donald as he ran toward the monsters with a spell ready to cast. Sora jumped into action and was able to take out three or four Heartless with his Keyblade while Donald cast variations of ice, fire, and thunder spells from his staff to take out a few more. Goofy slammed his shield into the rest. “Whew. No problem. Are you two alright?” Sora asked when the Heartless were gone. PART FOUR Twilight’s life was strange enough to say the least: stopping an evil, finding she could control one of the elements of harmony, re-imprisoning the god of Chaos, and even discovering she was connected to her friends even before she met them, but this—woodland creatures in her library who could speak English—seemed to top it all. “Excuse me. Are you all right?” asked the young fox with two Tails. Twilight hadn’t realized she had been standing there with her mouth agape for some time until the question snapped her back to reality. “Of course, Yes,” she started. “I am Twilight Sparkle. Who are you? Were did you come from?” Twilight thought even the Everfree Forrest couldn’t conjure up something like this. “I’m Sonic,” the hedgehog answered, “and this is Tails.” “Hiya,” greeted the fox. “We were wondering if you had an Atlas.” “Um…sure…right here.” Twilight levitated a book from one of the shelves. “Were did you two come from?” she asked as she handed them the book. The fox began to flip through the book before answering. “Well, we’re not from your world, I can tell you that,” he said with a semi-worried tone. “Not from MY world?” asked a confused Twilight. “Well, you see, Sonic and I seem to have accidentally teleported here by the power of the Chaos Emeralds,” explained Tails, “and we have to find them---“ “Wait! Did you say “Emeralds”?” Twilight interrupted. She floated the old leather book from her satchel and flipped to the page about the Darkness and the Emeralds. “Did they look like these?” she asked. She showed them the artist’s rendering of the Emeralds. “Yep. That’s them. But how do you know about them?” Sonic asked suspiciously. “Well that’s just the thing,” Twilight responded, “I don’t know about the Emeralds. No pony knows much about them other than that they helped us defeat a strange and evil Darkness a long time ago.” “Well, Tails, I’m guessing the Emeralds must be here again. It looks like we have an adventure ahead of us,” Sonic said. Twilight heard a small growling sound. “Ha ha. Maybe we’d better start by getting something to eat,” suggested Sonic sheepishly. “Here, follow me. We can get something at a little place in town.” Twilight started to walk toward the door. Sonic and Tails followed. Twilight led them down the street. She knew exactly were to go. “Well, here we are,” she said as they reached their destination. A sign over the shop read: Sugar Cube Corner. “I have a friend who works here. Her name is Pinkie Pie.” They all entered the building and walked up to the front counter were Twilight’s friend, Pinkie Pie—a brightly colored pink pony with over expressive eyes and a cotton candy-like tale and mane—stood. “Hi, there, Twilight! Who’re your new friends?” Pinkie Pie said in her usual unusually high-pitched and overly excited voice. “Hello, Pinkie Pie. This is Sonic and that’s Tails. They’re…um…new around.” Twilight said as she made the introductions. “We were wondering if we could get something to eat because—” Twilight stopped abruptly because what she saw before her in a display case made her do a double take. “Pinkie! Were did you get those?” Twilight asked while pointing to two brightly colored Emeralds. “Well, this is going to be easier than I thought. Those are definitely the Chaos Emeralds!” confirmed Sonic. “The Emeralds must just be scattered around town,” concluded Tails. “Sonic, you can use these Emeralds like a tracking device to find the others.” Sonic nodded in understanding. “Okay, I’ll go look for them real quick. You two stay here. I’ll be back in a superSonic second.” Twilight handed the Emeralds over to Sonic. She could feel some power—warm but strangely destructive—emanating from them. Sonic took the Emeralds and then walked out of the shop after quickly devouring a small green cupcake with an Appleslice on top. “Pinkie, were did you get those?” Twilight asked urgently. “I don’t know. They just appeared in the shop. I put them in the display case thinking it would help us sell more cakes.” All of a sudden, Twilight heard a small ‘Ding.’ “Oooh…the cupcakes are ready,” Pinkie said over her shoulder as she zipped into the kitchen and returned moments later with a fresh batch of frosted cupcakes. Just as Twilight was about to devour one, she heard a commotion outside. PART FIVE “Wha…What were those things?” Sonic asked shocked and confused. The new brown pony took his hoof and scratched the back of his head as if to find the right words. “Well, they’re called Heartless.” “Heartless? I’ve never heard of them,” said the rainbow colored pony named Rainbow Dash. All of a sudden another one of the Heartless creatures popped behind the three newcomers, ready to attack. “Watch out!” Sonic shouted and then spin-dashed into the attacker. It promptly disappeared into a puff of black cloud. “Okay. You’re really fast,” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. She regained her composure and said, “Not as fast as me, though.” “Is that a challenge?” Sonic asked with an edge of competition in his voice. At that moment, Tails, Pinkie Pie, and Twilight stepped out of Sugar Cube Corner. “Oooh…are you two going to play a game? I love games,” said Pinkie Pie with great enthusiasm. “Sorry, Sonic, but I don’t think we have time for games,” Twilight said, “Spike just sent me a note. Strange animals have been attacking the residents of Ponyville.” She held up the scroll. “Strange animals? Could it be the Heartless?” the brown pony asked the griffin, “Oh, I’m Sora, by the way,” the pony said, “and this is Donald and Goofy,” he pointed to the griffin and silly looking dog. “I’m Twilight Sparkle and this is Pinkie Pie,” she motioned to the pony with wild hair who was now bouncing up and down, “and Rainbow Dash.” The Pegasus did a quick loop in the air. “I’m Sonic and this is Tails.” Tails gave a small two-finger salute. Sora spoke up. “Hey, if you two want to race, you can. It might be fun.” Sonic’s game face returned when he saw the determination in Rainbow’s eyes. “Okay, then let the games begin!” PART SIX Bang! The sound of Pinkie’s confetti gun went off and the two racers—Sonic and Rainbow Dash—zoomed from the starting line. Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Sonic, Tails, Rainbow Dash and their new friends, Sora, Donald, and Goofy, had found the perfect place to hold the race. The racetrack was around the south fields of Sweet AppleAcres. Twilight’s friend, AppleJack, had agreed to let them race around it as long as they did not disturb the apples that were not in bloom. Twilight was quite amazed. Never had she seen anyone, other than AppleJack, keep up with Rainbow Dash. “Well I guess we will see who’s in the lead when they come back around,” said Tails to Donald. “Hey, Tails, do you mind if I take a look at one of the Emeralds?” Twilight asked. She wanted to see if she could figure out what that power she’d felt earlier was. “Sure,” replied Tails. He dug into a small pack Twilight hadn’t noticed he was wearing. He pulled out the blue Emerald and handed it to Twilight who used her magic to levitate it into the air just in front of her face. “Please be careful. These Emeralds have an unpredictable and mysterious power.” “Don’t worry. I just want to test something real quick.” Twilight reassured Tails when she saw a small worried frown momentarily cross his face. She smiled and wondered off towards the direction of AppleJack’s barn. Even using her powers of levitation, she could feel the power emanating from the Emerald. As she wandered about, she began to consider how the Emeralds even got to Equestria so many years ago. She decided to use her magic directly on the Emerald, itself, to look inside its power. She was hesitant at first because of the warning Tails had given about the unpredictable power they contained. “What harm could it do, right?” she asked herself. She closed her eyes and began to focus all her magic toward the Emerald. Her horn began to glow a dark lavender color. She felt a spark of power go through her horn and into her brain. This startled her and made her lose focus. Her horn stopped glowing. “Ouch! I don’t think I’ll try that again,” she told herself as she rubbed her temple with her hoof. All of a sudden, her horn began to glow again. “Eek! What’s going on with my horn?” The Emerald levitated near Twilight and began to circle her. She felt her horn pull her, against her will, into a thick of Appletrees. She wasn’t quite sure what was happening but all she could see were Appletrees whizzing by as her horn took her deeper into the orchard. Just before she hit a tree, her horn stopped glowing and she stopped abruptly. In front of her was one of AppleJack’s bushel baskets filled to overflowing with bright red, savory-looking apples. She noticed something else in the basket, as well. There, hidden among the apples were five brightly colored Emeralds. Twilight’s eyes doubled in amazement. She cautiously approached the basket, tiptoeing ever so slightly, and began removing the apples one by one. She gently scooped the Emeralds with her hoof and tucked them away into her saddlebag. While she was walking back to her friends, she began hearing strange noises; a kind of grunting like someone exerting extreme energy. As she got closer to the others, it dawned on her what the noises were-- her friends were fighting and they were in trouble! PART SEVEN “What could the Heartless be doing here in this place were everyone is so kind and there is so much light?” Sora wondered. He felt the gentle breeze from the west glide across his face and he could smell the sweet fragrance of the Appleorchards around him. “Hey, Sora, I think Sonic and Rainbow Dash will be comin’ around any minute now.” The anticipation of Goofy’s words shook Sora out of his daydreaming. Sora saw that Goofy was right. Looking into the distance, he saw two little blue dots coming closer with tremendous velocity. Although Sora didn’t want to play favorites with his new friends, he had to admit to himself that he would very much like to see Sonic win this race. Sora, Donald, Goofy, Pinkie Pie, and Tails all began to cheer as the two racers were nearing the home stretch. Fear began to grip Sora as, out of nowere, a huge blob of blackness appeared right on the racetrack blocking the racers from the finish. The cheering turned into an eerie silence as everyone else noticed it, too. Sora’s feet instinctively ran toward the darkness as he realized what it was. It was Heartless—and lots of them! Donald and Goofy figured it out only seconds after Sora and they began to run after him. Sora’s Keyblade appeared in his mouth as he readied himself to charge into battle. Sonic and Rainbow Dash were overwhelmed at the sight of the Heartless but by the time they recognized the imminent danger, they were going too fast to stop. Both of them crashed head on into Heartless and immediately began to fight as the Heartless attacked. Sora knew the efforts of the two fighting would be fruitless. Only a Keyblade or magic could get rid of a Heartless permanently. Sora began to slash his way through the Heartless as Donald and Goofy fought valiantly alongside him. In the midst of the fight, Sora noticed Twilight running toward them. “Cover for me, real quick Donald. I’ll be right back,” commanded Sora. Sora rushed over to intercept Twilight. “What’s going on here? What are those—“Twilight stopped. Sora saw the shocked expression on Twilight’s face and then she spoke. “That must be the darkness that attacked Equestria long ago. It has returned.” “Don’t worry. Donald, Goofy, and I have it all under control.” Sora saw Tails rushing up to them. “Hey, guys. The Chaos Emerald is going nuts!” “I think I know why,” said Twilight, “it could be reacting to the Emeralds I found.” Twilight opened her saddlebag and dumped the Emeralds out on the ground. They were glowing ferociously. The Emeralds slowly raised themselves into the air; their lights beating rhythmically. “Hey, what are those things and what are they doing?” asked Sora. “Those are the Chaos Emeralds and, if my suspicions are correct, they are saving us,” replied Twilight. The Emeralds, taking on a mind of their own, flew up and circled around the mass of Heartless. Sora could only stand in awe of what happened next. The Emeralds began to glow brighter and brighter and then, without warning, they stopped. When Sora’s eyes adjusted back to normal daylight, the Heartless had all vanished. Sonic, Rainbow Dash, Donald, and Goofy were left standing in the middle of the racetrack. All was quiet. PART EIGHT The Emeralds had always saved Sonic in tight spots before. He was quite glad that they worked as well in Equestria as they did in Mobius. He felt beaten and a bit shaken up at the intensity of what just happened. He began gathering up all the Emeralds that were scattered around—seven in all. Pinkie Pie was bouncing toward the group. “Wow! That was so amazing and SOOOO unpredictable. I sure didn’t see that coming. It sure made this race interesting—not to say it wasn’t interesting to begin with. But how many races have you seen were the racers battle monsters right in the middle? I’d sure like to see another race like that. Maybe we should do it again sometime. But maybe not because you guys look pretty beaten up and worn out. And that flash…wow…I’ve never seen anything so bright. It made those monsters disappear. That was so amazing. Didn’t you think that was amazing?” Sonic felt overwhelmed at the speed and pace that Pinkie Pie was talking. “I’m sorry. You’re going to have to excuse Pinkie Pie. She gets a little overly excited sometimes,” apologized Twilight. “Well I think we may have gotten rid of your Heartless problem,” said Sora. “You’re lucky we got rid of those scouts before the real horde of Heartless attacked,” Donald remarked. “What?! Those were only scouts?” Twilight exclaimed with horror. “Yes, but we got rid of them so they shouldn’t return unless something really bad happens,” said Donald with confidence. “Yes. But if they ever do return then we’ll be back and we’ll be ready to fight them,” promised Sora. “You’ll be back? Do you mean you’re leaving?” asked Sonic. “Yes, but don’t worry. We’re all friends. We won’t really be apart as long as we remember each other, “said Sora. Sonic grinned for he knew this was true. “Hey, Sonic, now that we have all the Emeralds, we can go back. We need to hurry before our other friends begin to miss us,” chimed in Tail impatiently. “But how are we going to get back?” asked Sonic, “We don’t have any teleportation device.” “I have an idea,” said Twilight, “I have a teleportation spell. I can just put it into the Emeralds and they can take you back home—as long as you concentrate on home.” Sonic set the Emeralds in a circle and he and Tails stood in the middle of the circle. Twilight conjured up her spell as her horn began to glow. Then, the light bunched into an orb at the very tip of her horn. She shot the orb onto one of the Emeralds. The Emerald lit up and shot two beams of the lavender light to the other Emeralds until there was a ring of light passing through each of the them. Sonic and Tales quickly waved their good-byes. “Hey, if you’re ever in the neighborhood, we still haven’t finished that race,” yelled Rainbow. Sonic grinned and said, “You’re on! See ya around later.” There was a bright flash. Everything went white and then everything went black. Sonic opened his eyes. Everything was blurry for a second. He looked around. He was lying in a field. Tales was next to him. The Emeralds were gone. Sonic was back in his familiar world of Mobius. As Sonic thought back on the events of the day, he remembered what Sora said, “If those things ever return, we’ll be back.” Sonic knew that what Sora said was true. One day he would go back and be able to see his friends again. Now, however, it was a new day. “Okay, Tails. There is a bright new day of adventure ahead of us. Many things to see and many more to do. There is always an adventure to be had.” > CHAPTER 2: SOME SPACE FOR CHAOS > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART 1 “…And as the darkness grows, so does the Chaos.” said the soothing voice of an unseen spirit. “It’s only a matter of time before my physical body is released from that infernal stone prison.” “Your offer is quite interesting, I must admit,” Said a round shadowy figure. “I would be a fool to pass this.” The figure turned around in the chair he was sitting in. the chair was bolted to the floor of the dimly lit room, right in front of a large monitor. The chair itself had buttons and swhiches that he proceeded to push. “So if what you’re saying is true, about multiple worlds all separated, and that this one has been connected to yours, then that leaves the question, how?” “A form of great power that originated from this world called out and my world answered,” said the nothing that wasn’t there. “The Chaos Emeralds?” he asked. “Yes. And the connection that was made is still in place.” Answered the voice. “And what off these…what did you call them? Heartless?” he asked “What are they? And why are they so important?” “I can grant you power to control them and you can find out for yourself,” the voice said with obvious mischief in his tone. The man stood up and proceeded to pace the room thinking over everything and considering his options. “Did I mention that the Heartless could be used to take down…miner threats?” “Such as that blasted hedgehog, Sonic?” he began to grin maliciously. “If that is so, then I could finally complete my Eggman empire and there is nothing that Sonic would be able to do to stop me! Muhahaha…ho, ho, ho, ho.” He laughed evilly and was soon joined by the laughter of the voice that was speaking to him. “What do you say? Do we have a deal, Eggman?” the voice asked. “Yes, I believe we do.” Eggman responded. “So, what of these…Heartless? How can I control them?” he asked after brief moment of awkward silence. “Oh, yes. That power must be granted to you,” the voice replied. “Oh! By whom?” It was quiet for a moment before the voice spoke again. “A very old friend of mine. Her name is Maleficent.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It was quiet, very quiet. The only sound was the soft Tick Tock, Tick Tock. of the wall clock. Tails sat in nervous patience. He had called Sonic nearly 7 minutes ago. “Sonic should have been here by no,” he thought to himself, “I mean even if he was on the far side of the mountains it shouldn’t—”knock. knock. knock. A knock at his door interrupted his thoughts. “That must be him.” Tails said out loud. Tails quickly walked to the door and opened it. On the other side was indeed his best friend, Sonic “Hiya, Tail! What’s up?” greeted the speedy blue hedgehog as he walked in to rather large, hanger- like, laboratory that his friend, Tails, called home. “Sonic, were have you been? I called you like…10 minutes ago.” Tails said as he led his friend to his desk. Sonic shrugged his shoulders. “I stopped for a chilidog, there is never a wrong time for a chilidog,” he explained. He pat his stomach and closed his eyes, remembering the chilidog he had just eaten. He opened his eyes and looked back to Tails. “So why did you call me over?” he asked. “It’s about a Chaos Emerald. It’s acting strange,” Tails answered. He began to rummage through his rather large wooden desk. It was littered with small stacks of files, reports, pictures, a few pens and pencils, and an oversized eraser. “So what? The Chaos Emeralds act strange all the time—” “Not ALL the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic. A Chaos Emerald,” Tails corrected him mid-sentence. Tails opened another drawer then exclaimed “BINGO!” As he apparently found what he was looking for. He held up a small blue Emerald that was glowing softly. “Take a look, Sonic.” He handed it over to Sonic “See how it’s glowing?” Sonic noticed that the Emerald was in fact glowing and fading in a strange way. “It looks like its breathing. Were did you find this Emerald anyway, and when did it start doing this?” Sonic asked as he turned it around to get a whole view of the Emerald. “It was waiting right here on my desk when I got back after the last time we “used” them.” Sonic remembered the last adventure that involved the Emeralds, only half a month ago. And he thought back to his equestrian friend, Twilight Sparkle. It was she who had technically “used” the Emeralds last time. “As for the glowing,” Tails continued. “That started this morning.” “What do you think is going on?” Sonic asked. Tails thought for a moment then shook his head. “I’m not sure. I need to do a small test,” he said. “So, what do you say Sonic? Want to see what makes this Emerald tick?” Sonic fashioned his trade-mark smirk. “Let’s do it, to it.” PART 2 It was a warm sunny day in Ponyville. The sun crept in through the window of cottage that was made from a tree. Small birds were flying around the tree roof singing softly. The warm glow of the morning sun spread across the sleeping face of a light yellow colored Pegasus with quite an unruly pink mane. A small white bunny tip-toed into the room. He pulled out a tiny pocket watch and looked at the face. The watch said 7:48 AM. The bunny got a shocked look on its face and bounced onto the bed of the small Pegasus. He gently nudged her on the shoulder. “Hm…?” The Pegasus slowly opened her eyes. “Oh, Angel Bunny! Good morning,” she said in very soft and soothing voice. Angel frowned and then showed her the time on his watch. “What’s this? ...OH MY! She leaped out of her bed and then blushed as she realized she had taken all the covers with her. She quickly spread them back on the bed and then flew out of her room and into her bathroom. “Oh, dear, I’m late again. That is the third time in a row,” she muttered to herself as she brushed, combed, and then straightened her hair. After grabbing an apple, granola bar, and some toast she rushed out the door. “I’ll just have to eat these on the—Eek!” She was startled when out of nowere a loud strange sound started up. VWOORP, VROORP, VWOORP. The timid little pony dove behind a bush. The sound came from nowere and everywere all at once. She recalled it sounded a like mix of wheezing and sawing wood. The noise stopped with a BLONG. She peeked out from her hiding spot. One of her eyebrows went up as the other stayed in place and she tilted her head in confusion. “What on earth…how did this get here?” Right in front of her was a rather large…blue.…public POLICE call box. _____________________________________________________________________________ Twilight Sparkle was walking through Ponyville enjoying the hustle and bustle of the market. She was accompanied by her good friend, Rarity. Rarity was a unicorn like Twilight Sparkle. She had a long indigo mane and tail that swirled perfectly. Her coat was a soft pure white. Twilight had often joked to herself about how it looked much like marshmallow. Her cutie mark was three beautiful diamonds. “I Love your new hat, Rarity,” commented Rose, a cream colored pony. “Why thank you. Darling,” replied Rarity. She used her magic and lifted it off her head then put it on the counter of Rose’s stand. “Here, you can have it. I think it would look much more marvelous on you.” Rose put the hat on her head. “There, see? You look absolutely fabulous, darling!” Twilight had to admit it did look very gorgeous on Rose; almost as if it were destined to be Rose’s perfect hat. “Thank you, Rarity. This is such a nice gift,” said Rose. Twilight and Rarity turned to leave. As they walked away, Twilight heard the Wheeeeeee ,wheeeeeeer of a whistle directed at Rose by some young colt. Twilight put on a baffled face as Rarity simply grinned. “That was such a wonderful thing you did back there Rarity,” Twilight said when they began walking again. Rarity looked over at Twilight and smiled. “It’s nothing really, I have plenty of hats. And besides, Rose will probably be standing in that hot sun all day selling her flowers. She would need a hat to keep her safe from the heat.” As Twilight thought about what Rarity just said, she did not notice that her horn was glowing. She was jerked out of her thoughts as she was lifted up into the air. Her eyes glowed white as a beam of magical light shot from her horn. The beam end of magic stopped in midair and turned into a ball of light with bolts of lightning circling it. The burst of magic stopped and Twilight’s eyes went back to their normal state. Twilight fell back down to the ground from were she had been floating. “Huh, wait, what just happened?” she asked as she tried to clear her head from the stars she was seeing. Was that her imagination or was she seeing tiny little Derpys flying around her head? She shook it to clear it once more. She looked to were Rarity was staring, her mouth slightly agape and eyebrows screwed up in confusion. Her eyes got wide and she displayed the same level of confusion as Rarity at what she saw. Twilight spoke, still surprised at what she was seeing. “How did you—what are you doing back here?” she asked. Right there, lying on the ground, were her old friends. “Sonic? Tails? But how?” PART 3 BOOM ! CRASH! SPKKRRZAP! FROOSH! These noises and more could be heard in the console room as The Doctor, a tall thin man with a ridiculous amount of hair on his head, tried to calm the TARDIS, his spaceship/time machine. He was sporting a red bowtie-- that by now had a bit of soot on it-- suspenders, a brown professor’s Jacket that was oddly clean and wrinkle free, and a grayish, purple button-up shirt. “Doctor, what’s going on?” cried the voice of one of his companions. The Doctor flipped a couple of swhiches and pushed a button that was on the console dashboard that sat in the middle of the large room. “I don’t know,” he confessed, “I can’t stop it, Amy.” The Doctor flinched as an explosion of sparks flew out of the dashboard. “What do you mean you can’t stop it?” asked Rory, the Doctor’s other companion. “The TARDIS is…how can I explain this? …um…It’s chasing after a huge power space/time source.” The Doctor pulled a large lever that was connected to the bottom of the console, and turned some dials in quick haste. Amy was gripping onto the guard railing and crouching to keep herself safe. “What does that even—WHOA!” her question was cut off as the room did one last very powerful jerk. The whole room was dark. The only light came from the screen that was above the console. The Doctor tried to pick himself up. He felt as if his whole body had just gone through an automatic taffy stretcher. Amy and Rory felt the same from were they were lying but decided to keep still in case something more happened. The screen displayed some data and charts and complex figures that only The Doctor could read. “Well I’ve got good news and bad news,” he announced. “What’s the good news, Doctor?” Rory asked, his voice shaky. He thought his arms and legs felt weird but that might be from the crash. “Well, the good news is the TARDIS engines and time coupler source are completely and utterly dead?” he answered with a happy yet serious tone. ”Doctor, how is that “good” news at all?” Amy asked, clearly annoyed “Compared to the bad news, it’s good news.” The Doctor said. “The bad news is that we have fallen through the fabric of the universe and slipped along the void’s abstract plain. That means we have landed on a world in an alternate universe. The TARDIS being dead means that it does not have to try compensating for the dramatic shift in the new time stream.” The Doctor then scowled. “But that does limit our mobility until she recharges.” “Doctor, can we get some lights on?” asked Rory. “Aw, yes. Of course. Interface should still be operational,” The Doctor answered. “Computer Interface, activate emergency lights,” He called out. Lights suddenly flicked on. “AAHHH! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ME!?!” Amy’s scream made the Doctor jump. He turned to look at Amy. What he saw shocked him and he stumbled backwards. He then got yet another shock at what he saw when he looked himself over. “Why, why we’re…ponies? But, b-but h-how?” was all The Doctor could manage to stammer out. Amy then remembered Rory and swiveled her head to look for him. She called out to him. “Rory? Rory are you alright? Were are you?” Amy’s attention was drawn to the stairs were Rory, or rather a pony that looked like Rory, lay. “I’m fine, but I think I might have bumped my head. Doctor what’s going on?” The Doctor took note of his two ponied friends. Amy was light pink, her hair was the same, long red fiery hair of her human self and her tail complemented her hair. His view was directed to Amy’s leg. “Amy, when did you get that tattoo?” the Doctor asked puzzled. On Amy’s flank was a clock with his TARDIS, a blue police box, and a line that looked much like the crack that was in Amy’s wall from when she was young. Rory was a much different story, however. He was a blue pony. His hair seemed to have faded and had a slightly different style. He, too, had what resembled a tattoo in about the same place as Amy’s, but his was a large red cross symbol with a stethoscope and what he knew to be the twenty- first century sign for a doctor. What was most different about Rory was that he had a horn on his head. The Doctor was about to say something when he heard a KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK on the TARDIS’ front door. “Now who could that be?” the Doctor asked. He walked over to the doors, which he found was quite easy given the fact he was now walking on four legs. The door opened with a SQUEEEK. There in front of him was a yellow pony with impossibly long pink hair and…wings? The Doctor finally found his voice “Ummm…hello. Were are we, exactly?” PART 4 “It is such a pleasure to finally meet you, Maleficent.” Dr. Eggman greeted the queen of darkness with a polite bow. Maleficent was a tall thin woman with pale, almost green, skin. She wore a long black dress and cape that covered her entire body. Her hands and face were the only part of her body showing. She had a head dress that had two horns sticking up wards. She also had a long staff with a green orb secured on the tip of it. “So, Doctor, you would like to control the darkness?” she asked. “You are lucky you were so highly regarded by an old “colleague” of mine.” Eggman game a mischievous grin. “Trust me. With my superior intelligence I can convert these Heartless,” he gestured to one that was standing next to Maleficent, “into unstoppable, mechanical marvels.” Eggman flipped a swhich and a hatch to the side opened up revealing a Heartless- like being mixed with robot parts and weapons. Maleficent looked quite pleased. “Very well done, Dr.Eggman,” sShe congratulated, “I will grant you the power to control the Heartless. Do not disappoint me,” she warned. “Trust me,” he reassured. “With this power, I cannot possibly fail.” Maleficent looked unimpressed once again. The orb on her staff was enveloped lightly in a black and dark purple aura. She moved the staff slightly and Eggman, too, was lightly surrounded by the same aura. Then it stopped. “It is done, but I must warn you, Dr., Do not delve too deeply into the darkness, lest it swallow you whole.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “And what does this do, again?” Sonic asked as he looked the strange capsule up and down. Tails had placed the Emerald inside it and went over to what Sonic guessed were the controls. “It will extract and analyze the power in the Emerald and tell us what going on,” Tails answered as he turned on the machine. The whole thing started up with a low HHHUUUMMM. “Wait. Isn’t taking the power of the Emeralds dangerous, Tail?” Sonic asked confused. “If my theory is correct, then it’s not the power in the Emerald acting up. I think it’s more of a signal,” Tails answered as put some commands in the computer. “So we are only seeing what’s sending the signal?” Sonic concluded. Tails pushed some buttons and flipped a swhich to the ON position. “Yup! That’s the plan.” A bright white beam shot out of one of the pointers that surrounded the capsule. The Emerald began to glow brighter. “Now let’s see if we can’t send a signal back to the source and then pin-point were it’s coming from.” Tails muttered to himself as he began recording the data that showed on the screen. Tails adjusted a nob ever so slightly and the beam changed from white to a light blue. “Tails, what’s going on? Is that supposed to happen?” Sonic asked as the beam changed again and then settled into a wavy pattern. Tails got a shocked expression on his face that quickly melted into horror. “The power in the Emerald is leaking out and the beam can’t record it properly! I can’t keep it under control!” Tails worked franticly at the controls. “She’s gonna blow!” The capsule exploded with a bright white flash. Sonic and Tails were enveloped in it. “TAILS, WATCH—.” Sonic stopped mid-sentence as everything went white. It was so white Sonic could feel it in all of his sinces. He could see only white, feel only white, hear only white, and taste and smell white. He was not sure how he could taste and smell white but just as quickly as it had happened, everything seemed to stop. Then everything went black. Sonic felt a slight pressure on his front, as if he had fallen face first on to the ground. As he began to come to, he thought he heard a muffled voice that sounded familiar. “Humw ded yow—whent sar yoow duig boke hearwe?” Sonic shook his head to clear his ears which were ringing loudly. “Sonic? Tails? But how?” the same voice said, this time much more clearly. He knew that voice. He had heard it once before. “Twilight is…is that you?” Sonic asked when he looked up. All he could see were two big purple and white blurs. He turned his head and rubbed his eyes. He looked next to him and saw that Tails was beginning to get up as well. He looked back to the source of the voice that sounded like his friend, Twilight. “Twilight, it is you?!” He exclaimed as he saw his familiar purple unicorn pony friend, Twilight. “But how? Am I back in your world again?” Sonic asked when he tried to stand up. His legs were quite wobbly, but he could manage. He helped Tails to his feet. “What are you two doing here?” Twilight asked once the two were steady on their own feet. The white unicorn that Sonic hadn’t seen the last time he was here spoke before he could answer. “Twilight, you know these two?” The white unicorn was staring at them in confusion and wonder. “Rarity, this is Sonic and Tails. They…come from far away. Sonic, Tails. This is my friend Rarity.” “It’s nice to meet ya.” Tails greeted. “It’s nice to meet another one of Twilights friends” Sonic said as he gave a thumbs up. Rarity bowed her head slightly in a very lady like fashion. This made Sonic blush inwardly at the informality of the gesture with which he had greeted her. “The pleasure is all mine.” She greeted in return “You are giving me so much inspiration, the two of you.” She went on, “Your coat color, that deep blue, so marvelous and—DEAR CELESTIA! You have two Tails!” She had just become shockingly aware of the two tails of Tails. “Why this…that…those…. absolutely stunning, I must—.” “Later, Rarity,” Twilight said, stopping her friend from going off on an inspiration streak. “How did you two get here?…I mean clearly my magic had something to do with it.” Twilight was then stuck with a thought. “Is it your Emeralds…what did you call them?” Rarity’s ears perked up. “Did you say…EMERALDS?!?” She exclaimed, her eyes growing wide. She recomposed herself. “If you were to have any leftover Emeralds, I could take them of your hooves.” She looked at their hands then, with some embarrassment, corrected herself. “I mean hands.” Tails rubbed the back of his neck, trying to find the best way to explain things. “Well, first, Twilight they are called Chaos Emeralds,” he began. Twilight nodded her head in remembrance. “And they aren’t worth much because of what they really are because—.” “Well, of course I would not sell them. I would incorporate them itto one ofmy fabulous clothes,” Rarity explained cutting him off. “Oh, ok. But that leads into the last thing,” he turned to Sonic, “Sonic, we only have one Chaos Emerald. I don’t think the other came with it.” He held out the Emerald that Sonic guessed Tails had found lying near him. Sonic was nearly knocked back at what Tails had just said. “WHAT? But you need all the Emeralds to travel through space don’t you?” Sonic was recalling the time he had ended up in the world of his friend Blaze, the cat. They had needed all the Emeralds to get back and they had needed all the Emeralds to get back home the last time he and Tails were in Equestria. “How can we get back with only one Emerald?” Sonic’s heart sank a little. “What about Eggman? Who will keep him in line if he attacks our friends?” Tails was a bit bummed out himself. “I don’t know, Sonic,” he confessed, “I just don’t know.” “Come on you two. I know we can get through this,” Twilight smiled trying to cheer up her two friends. “Let’s get back to my library. Maybe I can find a way to send you two back. It’ll be an adventure.” Sonic and Tails perked up at that. “You’re right. As long as we are with our friends, this will be an adventure!” Sonic exclaimed with new found confidence, And with that the four friends made their way to the Ponyville library. PART 5 The pony just stood there, wide eyed. “Uuhhh…do you speak?” The Doctor asked after getting no response from the first question. The Doctor noticed that the little Pegasus seemed a bit scared and confused. “Well…I’m The Doctor,” he introduced, “And if you can understand me, then could you please—.” “Why does it say police then?” the pony cut him off. Her voice was sweet and soft. “I mean if you don’t mind my asking?” “Oh, so you can speak. That’s good. Speaking and communicating is very good.” The Doctor half spoke, half mumbled to himself. “Now, like I said, I am The Doctor. My “box” says Police because…well it’s all very complicated and I don’t have time.” The Doctor did his best to block the view to the inside of the TARDIS. He just was not up to having the whole “bigger-on-the-inside” conversation. “So, what’s your name?” “Oh, uummm…?” the pony lightly kicked the dirt. “I’m…Fluttrshmm” The Doctor had more than exceptional hearing but he had to admit he had a bit of trouble catching the last part of her name “I’m sorry what was that last part again?” he asked. “Oh, uummm…shy?” It was still very soft but the Doctor could still hear what she said. “Fluttershy? That’s a beautiful, if not somewhat odd, name.” The Doctor commented. He turned his head back into the TARDIS and called out to Amy and Rory. “Amy? Rory? Come and meet Fluttershy. She can tell us were we are.” A walking sound indicated that his companions were walking over to the front doors. “Fluttershy, these are my friends, Amy,” Amy peaked her head out the door and looked at the small Pegasus, “And Rory.” Rory shuffled past The Doctor and squeezed past Amy and out of the TARDIS Stumbling over his new hooves and plopping face first in to the ground. Fluttershy gasped and bent down to Rory. “Oh my goodness, are you alright?” Rory lifted his face up. “Ya, I’m alright. It happens a lot actually.” He gave a weak and nervous smile. Amy quickly walked out of the TARDIS, helping Rory up. He winced a bit in pain. “What’s wrong Rory? Are you hurt?” She asked. “I think I banged my head in that crash,” he answered, holding a hoof to his head. “Oh dear, Do you need help?” Fluttershy asked, her face conveying worry. “You might have a concussion.” Rory did his best to steady himself. “I’m fine, really. I don’t need any—GAH!” Rory fell to the ground again; his head throbbing badly. He put his hooves up to them, trying to soothe the pain. “Rory? Are you sure you’re okay? ” The Doctor asked. “Rory, your stubbornness is as thick as your skull some times, and as thick as it is, it might still be a good idea to get it looked at. Were is…” Amy looked around for the yellow pony. She caught a glimpse of a pink tail darting in to a small cottage, or tree house, or cottage tree? “I guess you’re so scottish it rubs off,” Rory joked. Amy stifled a small laugh, and even The Doctor giggled at the joke. “GAH!” Another rush of pain shot through Rory’s head. “I wish I had an icepack,” he confessed. Just then Rory’s horn started glowing a blue color. “Rory, that horn on your head…” The Doctor pointed out. A small glow appeared on top of Rory’s head and with small POOF, an icepack was on top of Rory’s head. Fluttershy was trotting back up to them with some bandages in her mouth. She placed them next to Amy. “Oh good. You have an icepack already.” The Doctor was dumbfounded and at a loss for words—which is a unique situation for him…quite possibly a first. Fluttershy bandaged up Rory’s head with Amy’s help. The Doctor just stood off to the side trying to make since of what had just happened. “How did you do that?” The Doctor blurted out. Rory was confused. “Do what?” he asked. “Oh, you mean the icepack thing. Yeah, I don’t know. I just wanted one on my head so badly. Next thing I know, I have an icepack. Pretty cool. No pun intended.” “What do you mean? Didn’t he just use magic?” Fluttershy interjected. “Magic? There is no such thing as “Magic”, is there Doctor?” Amy asked. “Well, I’ve been thinking,” The Doctor walked closer to be in the group, “It might be that some form of science could be at work here showing signs of what we would call magic.” “You mean like telepathy?” Rory asked. “Yes, well no, well maybe.” The Doctor looked over to Fluttershy. “Is this common here?” he asked her. Fluttershy looked very confused. “Magic is common. Don’t you know? Your friend Rory here is a unicorn after all.” “Oh, dear, let’s see.” The Doctor thought for a moment. “If I can get an environmental scan of this place with the TARDIS, my blue box,” he gestured to his ship, “Then I can find out about were we are, and what might have happened to us.” “Oh my…something happened to you? What?” Fluttershy asked worriedly. “I can explain everything once I get the data,” The Doctor explained. “Maybe you should go see my friend, Twilight. She is a very smart pony. Maybe she can help you,” Fluttershy suggested. “Well, the TARDIS does need time to warm back up.” The Doctor Mumbled to himself. “, Fluttershy, wait right here.” The Doctor rushed in to the TARDIS. He emerged a minute later wearing none other than a red, velvet fez. “Alright every one…erm…pony, let’s go.” “uummm…Doctor?” Fluttershy piped up. “Are you sure it’s safe to just leave your blue box here?” she asked. The Doctor gave a soft smile. “Yes, of course it is.” He answered. “Trust me, I’m the Doctor.” PART 6 Twilight levitated the library key up to the door’s lock. There really was no need for Twilight to lock the doors. “What would somepony steal in a library anyway?” Spike had asked once. She opened the door and stepped inside the dark room. “Here let me get the lights,” Twilight said as the others started to walk in. With a glow of her horn the shades opened up, allowing Celestia’s sun to shine in, and light up the entire first floor. “Wow, this place hasn’t changed one bit,” Sonic commented as he looked around, surveying the familiar surroundings. “Twilight, I am terribly sorry I can’t stay but I must get back to my boutique,” Rarity informed Twilight. “Your two friends here are giving me so many fabulous ideas, and I must get them down on paper before I forget.” “Of course, Rarity, see you later.” Twilight smiled and walked to a bookshelf and began skimming through the titles. Rarity walked back over to the door “Good bye, Twilight,” she said, “And it was very nice to meet you two. You must stop by my boutique later tomorrow if you are still in town.” She called to Sonic and Tails as she walked out the door. Twilight continued to go through the book shelves, trying to find the book that she knew might help her two friends. The silence was broken when Tails spoke up. “Hey Twilight, how long has it been since we were last here?” Twilight glanced back over her shoulder. “About…let me think.” She thought for a moment and then answered, “About two and half weeks. Why?” “Interesting” Tails half said to himself. “That’s about the same time for us.” “So does that mean our worlds are on the same time schedule?” Sonic asked. “Something like that. But it doesn’t make much since.” Tails answered. “How could our worlds have the same time flow?” he questioned out loud. “It could be that our worlds are connected.” Twilight put in. “But how could that happen? You would need something very powerful and strong to keep our worlds connected.” Tails mused. “You mean like the Chaos Emeralds?” she wondered. “It’s a possibility. But the Emeralds would have to have been in both worlds in order to connect them.” Answered Tails. Twilight was trying to process what Tails had just theorized when KNOCK, KNOCK. The knocking at the door startled Twilight out of her thoughts. She went over to the door and opened it. What she saw on the other side was one of the strangest things she had ever opened her door to. There in front of her was her friend Fluttershy with three ponies she had never seen. The first one, a mare, was a reddish pink and had the reddest mane and tail she had ever seen. She was wearing a brown Jacket and her cutie mark was the weirdest one she had ever seen. It was a blue clock with an old police phone box and what looked like a crack at the bottom of the clock. The Second pony, a unicorn stallion standing next to the mare, was a blue pony with a light brown mane and tail and also wore a jacket. His jacket was blue green, however, and he had a bandage on his head. His cutie mark was a hospital red cross with the universal sign for Doctors and a stethoscope in the cross. The final pony was the strangest of all. He was a light sand color with a fez on his head, he had a brown mane and tail with an hour glass cutie mark. He wore a bowtie, and had a strange looking green flash light in his mouth that he was moving up and down on the horn of the unicorn who seemed to become increasingly annoyed by it. “Oh, Twilight, You’re home. Good.” Fluttershy greeted. “I have some very weird ponies that I think need to speak to you.” She waved her hoof, to indicate the three ponies behind her. The brown stallion stopped what he was doing and looked over at Twilight. “You must be Miss Twilight Glitter,” he greeted. “It’s Sparkle,” she corrected. “Umm…who are you?” she asked. “Yes, well, I am The Doctor and these are my companions, Amy and Rory.” He gestured to the two other ponies. “Just The Doctor?” Twilight asked. “Now I don’t have much time to explain,” he made his way past Twilight into her home, “But there is something very powerful and potentially dangerous in your library tree. Very clever by the way,” he added. He waved his green flashlight which was making a high pitched BZZZZZZZZZZZZZ noise. “Hey man, could you turn that down?” Sonic asked. “That thing is giving me a head ache.” The Doctor looked up at the blue hedgehog. A huge grin spread across his face as he rushed over to him. “Extraordinary! Not only does this world have taking ponies but talking bipedal hedgehogs and foxes.” “Wait. This world. Do you mean you’re from another world too?” Sonic asked the pony. “Oh. so you are not from this world? Shame.” The Doctor looked at the device he had set on the ground and tapped a big red button that was on it. “And for you information this ‘thing’ is a Sonic screwdriver and right now it says there is a large amount of power somewere on your person.” Sonic was taken aback at the strange tone of this pony. “You’re getting a little in my personal space.” Sonic took out the Chaos Emerald and held it up for the Doctor to see. “Is this what you mean?” “Possibly. What is this gem?” The Doctor asked amazed. Sonic held the Emerald firm in his hand. “This is a Chaos Emerald.” PART 7 One after another, Heartless were being converted into dark metal clade beings. “You have done well, Eggman,”complimented the disembodied voice Eggman had befriended. “It’s quite interesting; the way these creatures have adapted to my technology so easily is astounding,” Eggman eagerly pointed out. “So you say our worlds are in a state of harmonic grace?” Eggman asked. “Yes, some power from your world has bridged the gap between our world. That bridge allows anyone who can tap into the power to walk between our worlds. That is how I came to find you,” the voice explained. “Although my body is still in my world, imprisoned.” “If your power is as great as you say it is then why are you imprisoned?” Eggman asked as he looked over a check list in his hands. “A power far different from mine is holding my body and a substantial amount of my power locked away. With the power I was able to conjure, I was able to walk the path to your world,” the voice said with a tone of exhaustion. “Well now, that just won’t do, will it?” Eggman said with mock compassion. He grinned evilly. “Since you did help me obtain the power of these creatures, I will unlock your prison and set you free, heehee.” Eggman sat down in his spinning chair and started pushing buttons in quick secession. After an abnormally long silence he asked, “How do I set you free from you imprisonment?” “All you need to do is gather up some Chaos.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sonic held the Chaos Emerald in his hand as the Doctor bobbed his head all around the Emerald, examining it with the device he held in his mouth. He finally set the thing down on the floor and pushed its red button. It extended slightly and the top opened up. “Extraordinary,” he remarked as he stared at the green tip of his odd device. “This ‘Chaos Emerald’ is radiating an amazing amount of power that I have never seen before.” The pink pony named Amy spoke up. “Doctor, what is so special about that Emerald?” Sonic took notice of the extremely red mane of Amy, A sort of orange red that gave the illusion of fire. “And how is it an Emerald anyway? Aren’t Emeralds green, not light blue?” The Doctor formed an expression on his face, as if Amy had asked a completely stupid question. “This Emerald is giving off so much power that it is what lured the TARDIS here in the first place. Here to this whole new universe.” Everyone in the library was now looking at the Doctor. The light blue pony, Rory, looked as if nothing out of the ordinary had just been said. Sonic guessed that Rory must have gotten crazy news like this from the Doctor often. “Doctor, if this is really is a different dimension—.” “Universe,” the Doctor corrected him. “A dimension is the way an object moves through space. We are in another universe.” Rory looked annoyed and he rolled his eyes. Sonic knew what the Doctor had said was correct as he had firsthand experience with jumping from one world to the next. “Ok, fine, we’re in another universe, whatever,” Rory said with an annoyed tone. “How did this happen?” “Perhaps the Chaos Emerald did bring you here,” Tails piped up. “It does have the power to allow someone to jump from one universe into another. Sonic and I did that once.” Tails then began telling the story of when he and Sonic met Blaze, the cat. The wheels in Sonic’s brain began turning as he tried to figure out how the Emerald could pull someone out of their world and into another. “Tails, the Emeralds have to be used in order to send someone to another place.” “The TARDIS, my means of transport, somehow latched onto your Emeralds.” The Doctor put in. “Yah, and nearly killed us in the landing as well,” Rory muttered under his breath. Sonic just barley caught what he had said. Tails had a thoughtful look on his face. “Well it is possible that when we were pulled from my lab to here, the Emerald could have left a trail of energy within the abstract plain,” Tails theorized, “But you would have had to be in a warp state for you to pick it up, let alone, follow in back here.” “Oh, well, that’s the beauty of my ship. You see it can travel in time and space,” The Doctor said with a proud smile on his face. His smile faded to a solemn expression, “But I’m afraid that she won’t be going anywere for a while. Not until she has fixed the time engine problem.” The Doctor continued his worries. “Then what about getting back home? Or time travel limits or…” Sonic tuned out the Doctor as an only thought popped into his head, “I wonder why the Doctor is wearing that?” he did his best to keep a straight face when he realized that the Doctor was wearing a silly looking bowtie and a fez. “Sonic?” Sonic was thrust out of his thoughts as he heard Twilight say his name. “What did you say?” he asked. “Should we give the Doctor the Chaos Emerald?” Tails repeated the words Sonic guessed Twilight had just asked. “Why, should we give them to you?” Sonic asked with a bit of suspicion in his voice. “If I can tap into the Emeralds power I could get the TARDIS to punch through the abstract plain and get my friends and myself home,” The Doctor explained. Sonic thought for a moment. “I don’t know.” “I know that I don’t sound too trust worthy,” The Doctor said. “A strange…umm…pony fell out of nowere with two friends, babbles on about nothing, and then asks for a gem with great, almost infinite power. I would not trust them either.” “What if we can show you we are telling the truth?” Amy suggested. “Then you will know we mean no harm.” “Ok then.” Sonic agreed. It’s…It’s bigger…on the inside?” Twilight babbled out with curiosity. The gang had left the library and followed the Doctor, Amy, and Rory to Fluttershy’s tree cottage. Twilight was in utter amazement. The blue police box looked like it would barely hold one pony but the inside was massive with lights, a stair case and a whole lot of other ammenities Twilight could not even begin to comprehend. The whole place seemed even bigger then Canterlot castle. “But…how?” “Oh I do so love that bit.” The Doctor giggled with glee. “I get it,” Tails suddenly said, “It’s like a whole other dimension of space.” The Doctor pointed his hoof at Tails. “Correct!” Twilight looked over to were she last saw Sonic but he had disappeared. A moment later there was a Whoosh sound and a blue beam came from up the stairs down to them. “This place is huge” “Did you just run through the whole TARDIS?” Rory asked, his face showing amusement. “This world never ceases to amaze me,” The Doctor said in awe. “I wonder what other amazing creatures are here. Exploding turtles?” Fluttershy gasped in horror. “Or maybe combustible lemons? Do you have combustible lemons here, Nightlight Snarl?” the Doctor asked, turning his gaze toward Twilight. “I told you, it’s Twilight Sparkle,” Twilight corrected, getting all huffed up. “And I have never even heard of combustible lemons before.” “That’s a shame.” The Doctor said. Twilight continued to look around the large room, all the gadgets and gizmos were almost too much. She shook her head to clear it and walked over to were Sonic, Tails, and Fluttershy stood. Sonic was the first to speak. “Okay, so you were telling the truth about your spaceship and I will take your word that you must have been human before now.” Sonic paused a moment before continuing. “I’ll let you use the Chaos Emerald to refuel your ship and help you get back home… under one condition.” “Why is there always a catch?” the Doctor muttered out loud. “What is it?” Twilight was a bit shocked that Sonic would throw in a catch; Sonic wasn’t that type of character. “When you leave could you give Tails and me a lift back to our own world?” Sonic asked. Twilight was right about Sonic. She felt ashamed that she questioned Sonic’s motivation for placing a condition on his help. The Doctor smiled. “Of course we can; if your Emeralds have that power?” Tails, who was holding the Emerald, handed it over to the Doctor. “They do have that type of power. I have used it once before.” Tails confirmed. The Doctor gently picked up the Emerald in his teeth. “Why don’t you just use your hooves to carry it?” Twilight asked. “Are oo kidfing me? How am mi shupposed hoo arry it in my Hoowes?” The Doctor asked trying not to drop the Emerald that was in his mouth. He placed it on the dash board of a strange structure in the middle on the room. Twilight walked over to the Doctor, “Like this, see?” she picked up the Emerald in her hoof and stuck it out for the Doctor to take. “But…how are you doing that? That’s even not possible?” The Doctor asked astonished. “You don’t have fingers how are you grasping it? You know what, never mind.” The Doctor placed his hoof on the Emerald and experimentally lifted the Emerald up turning his hoof up to look at it. Sure enough, the Emerald lifted with his hoof and stuck there. Twilight, Amy, and Rory watched as the Doctor hooked the Emerald up to the dash board. Sonic, Tails, and Fluttershy had left to go up to Fluttershy’s cottage and get better acquainted; as they had not had a chance to meet her last time they were here. “Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” Amy asked nervously. The Doctor ignored the question and continued to push buttons, pull leavers, and flip swhich after swhich. The Doctor, now knowing he could hold things in his hooves, pulled out his special tool. Twilight couldn’t remember what he had called it. “What did you say that thing was again?” Twilight asked the Doctor. Amy answered instead. “He calls it a Sonic Screwdriver.” “AHA!” yelled the Doctor, hinting at success. Intently the whole room, the whole ship in fact, seemed to be more alive. Buttons flashed. Noises were made and there was an omnipresent light humming that strangely soothed Twilight. “Now she needs to charge for a while before we can start her up, but when we do…oh boy will she sing.” The four ponies made their way up to Fluttershy’s house. The sun was setting and Luna’s moon was just peeking up out of the opposite horizon. It had been a long day, not just for Twilight but for all her new friends as well. “Oh, so…uummm, you have your blue box ship working now?” Fluttersy asked once they were inside and settled. “Well, sort of,” The Doctor explained, “You see, the TARDIS needs time to store up that energy safely.” Fluttershy, with help from Tails, placed everyone’s dinner in front of them. “Thank you,” Amy and Rory said in unison. Amy poked at her food with a hoof. “What is it?” she asked. “Three cheese lasagna.” Fluttershy answered. She then recoiled. “Oh dear. Do you not like lasagna?” Fluttershy was about to pick up her plate when Amy stopped her. “Did you say “lasagna”?” she asked. “I love lasagna.” Rory nodded in agreement. “It’s true, she does. We even had it served at our wedding.” Rory then proceeded to eat his portion of the dinner. Fluttershy relaxed and let out a breath of relief. “Oh, that’s good. I would not want to have made something you didn’t like.” “May I have some more, please?” Amy asked a mere few seconds later. Twilight was amazed, she saw it but could not believe that some pony could devour so much so quickly. Rory smiled. “That’s my Amy.” He commented then started to laugh. Soon they were all laughing along too, except for the Doctor. Twilight noticed and she wondered why. “So, Doc, all we have to do is wait for your target to recharge?” Sonic asked after the laughter had died down. “Please, call me ‘The Doctor’,” The Doctor politely asked. “Okay, if that’s what you want me to call you.” Sonic said apologetically. “By the way, Doctor who?” The Doctor ignored Sonic’s newest question, “And it’s called the TARDIS,” he corrected Sonic. “It stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space,” he explained. He took another bite of his lasagna before continuing. “The TARDIS also needs time to adapt to your Chaos Emerald. And who know how long that could take.” After the dinner was cleaned up, Twilight felt as if she had just been in the running of the leaves, going uphill with the wind pushing against her and with rocks in her saddlebags. She yawned a huge yawn. “I think I will head home. Are you guys good for sleeping here at Fluttershy’s?” Twilight asked. “Fine with me.” Amy said. Rory and the Doctor shook their heads in agreement with Amy. “Tails and I will sleep outside if that’s all right with you, Fluttershy.” “It’s fine, I mean if you really want to. I suppose it’s a nice warm night out tonight.” Fluttershy stuttered and stumbled with her words nervously. Twilight was content with all the sleeping arrangements. She walked over to the door calling out “Goodnight everypony.” She opened Fluttershy’s door and began the long trek back to her library and to her bed. Part 8 Eggman walked back in forth, looking over some data on a clipboard in his hand. “Is something wrong?” the voice asked Eggman. “Possibly.” Eggman responded flatly. He flipped through the papers again and wrote down a few notes. “Oh? What is it?” the voice asked curiously. “The data I have collected concerning the space that connects our worlds. If it is correct then that means we may need to tweak the plan.” “Is this a bad thing?” the voice asked with concern. “What is it that bothers you?” “This “bridge” that connects my world to yours. There needs to be link on both ends of the bridge,” Eggman explained. “I believe that this link which connects the worlds is being caused by the Chaos Emeralds.” “How so?” the voice asked sounding captivated by were Eggman was going with all this. “How are your Emeralds the cause of all this?” Eggman set the clip board down and walked over to his control chair. He flipped a couple of swhiches on the arm of his seat. “If a link is required in both worlds, then that means one or more Emeralds are already in your world,” he began to explain, “And by the looks of this data, they are trying to pull all the other Emeralds through as well.” “Why does this require a change in the plans?” the voice asked with a tiny hint of anger in his tone. Eggman ignored the rhetorical question and continued on, gradually becoming more and more angry. “The Emeralds would have had to have some way to get to your world. I suspect that Sonic must have been the one to do this.” Eggman was in a near tantrum now. “That horrid little hedgehog is always getting in my way.” “Is there a way to work around this?” asked the voice. Eggman took a deep breath and calmed down. He pushed the intercom button on his chair and spoke into it, “Attention, please bring up the Dark Egg Super Bateleur” he announced. “And make in snappy.” “What do you have in mind, Eggman?” the voice asked. “If we want to get the slip past Sonic, then all we need to do is distract him,” Eggman answered, “And my little creation here will do just that.” Electronic doors opened, revealing the silhouette of something very, very big. An evil grin crept along Eggman’s face. “Dark Egg Super Bateleur, prepare for departure. Your mission: DESTROY SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!!!” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK “Fluttershy, open up.” Sonic awoke with a start when he heard a pounding noise. He was a little confused as to were he was. He quickly looked around and then remembered that he and Tails were in Equestria, sleeping on top of Fluttershy’s house. He looked over and saw Tails still sleeping a few feet away. He and Tails had somehow acquired blankets in the night. Sonic guessed that Fluttershy must have wrapped them up in the night. He looked over the side of the tree to see Rainbow dash, the light blue Pegasus with a Rainbow mane and tail. She was knocking on Fluttershy’s front door. The knocking proceeded until Fluttershy opened up a moment later. “Oh, good morning Rainbow Dash. How are you this morning?” Fluttershy asked stepping outside. “No time for that.” Rainbow said, getting all antsy. “Is it true? Is Sonic really back?” she asked. Fluttershy was getting a bit flustered at Rainbow’s energy. “Well, yes. But how did you know he was here?” she cocked her head in confusion. “I was at Twilight’s returning her sixth Daring Doo book when she told me that Sonic was back,” Dash explained calming down now. Sonic held back a giggle at Dash’s sudden change in energy. “OI! What’s this racket out here?” They heard just before they saw a curious , but sleepy, Amy appear. “Hello. Who are you?” she asked when she saw the blue Pegasus. “I’m Rainbow Dash, Fastest flier in all of Equestria.” Dash introduced herself. “You must be one of the strange ponies that Twilight mentioned.” Sonic knew why Dash was really here. He knew she must want a real race with him. He turned his attention back to Dash. “Anyway, Fluttershy, is he here or not?” Rainbow almost yelled out. “Why do you want Sonic?” Amy asked. “To have a rematch,” Rainbow answered. “Last time he was here we had a race that was cut short by some crazy monsters attacking.” Sonic thought back to that time. He knew he would have beaten her if he could finish the race. “I want a real race this time.” “BINGO! There it is,” Sonic thought to himself. “So you want a rematch do you?” he called down to the three ponies. Rainbow’s eyes went wide as she saw Sonic in the tree. She flapped her wings and zipped up to Sonic in an instant. “You bet I do!” she challenged. “And a very good morning to you as well, Dash.” Sonic greeted her sarcastically. Tails, who was now awake, waved hello to the Pegasus. Rainbow scoffed at Sonic’s sarcasm. “Fine, good morning, whatever.” she greeted, clearly annoyed. “So are you game, Sonic?” she asked. “You bet.” Sonic said feeling ready for anything. Just then Sonic, Tails, and Rainbow’s stomachs all growled. Rainbow looked embarrassed. She rubbed the back of her head with her hoof. “Uh, maybe we all should get something to eat first.” Sonic and Tails agreed by nodding their heads. Rainbow glided back down to the ground while Sonic made his way down by acrobatically jumping from one tree branch to the next. Tails twirled his two tails like a helicopter and hovered his way down to the ground. “Good morning Tails. Good morning Sonic.” Fluttershy greeted them when they were on the ground. “Did you sleep alright?” she asked. “We sure did. Thanks for the blankets.” Tails answered as he handed the blankets he remembered to grab be for coming down out of the tree. “You’re Welcome. Are you hungry? I have some breakfast ready if you are,” she offered. Sonic could feel the emptiness in his belly. “I sure am. It smells delicious,” he answered, catching a whiff of what was cooking inside. They all went inside to get some grub. Rory and the Doctor were just coming down from their own rooms as the colorful group entered the house. Rory looked as if he had tried sleeping without any knowledge of knowing how to do so. The Doctor on the other hand looked well rested and ready to tackle the day. He was neat and clean. Sonic could tell that there was not a single hair out of place on his head or tail. “Well, good morning to you, sleepy head.” Amy greeted her bedhead husband. Sonic snickered at the sight of the two ponies. After introductions, every one sat down to eat. Sonic had some toast with butter, apple slices with caramel, and cold cereal that seemed to be a version of the whole wheat rings cereal back at home with a glass of milk. Tails had the same; except a muffin instead of fruit. The Doctor had a simple banana-nut muffin with strawberry jam. Amy and Rory both had the same meal consisting of oatmeal, coffee, orange slices, and toast with jam. Rainbow just ate a bowl of the same cereal that Sonic was eating. After everyone ate and the breakfast was cleaned up, the whole group headed down the road to Ponyville. Ponyville seemed as busy as ever. It were as if all the residents had come out to either buy something or sell something. There were merchants selling flowers, merchants selling food, merchants selling jewelry, and even merchants selling all of the above. Sonic tried to take note of the stuff they walked by in case he got lost. “Let’s see,” he thought to himself, beginning to list things he saw. “A flower stand, the town hall…Sugar Cube Corner?” Sonic thought back to the last time he was here and how he had found two Emeralds, stuck in a cake, there. “What was the name of the pony that worked there?” he tried to remember the pink pony’s name. Almost as if his question was destined to be answered, the pink pony with impossibly frizzy hair and a balloon cutie mark stepped out of the store carrying what appeared to be trash bags out to the dumpster. When she spotted the group she lit up and quickly threw the bags in the dumpster. She then poked her head inside the store to say something to someone inside before bouncing over to the group. She stared at everyone; her big eyes so full of happiness Sonic just couldn’t help but smile. She opened her mouth to speak. “Hi I’m Pinkie Pie. Who are you? You must be new in town because I now everypony in town and since I don’t know you that must mean you must be new. I should throw you a ‘welcome to Ponyville’ party! It will humongous.” She looked up at Sonic and Tails and without skipping a beat she continued her fast paced talking. “GASP! Sonic, Tails, your back. I thought you went back to your own world. Did you miss us so much that you used your Chaos Emerald thingies to come and visit us? Are these three Ponies your friends? Did you want to show them you’re other world friends? I would. I mean how many other ponies do you know who have friends from another world? Oh I know, now that you’re here I can throw you all a ‘Welcome back to Ponyville and thanks for brings friends to meet us’ Party!” Sonic, Tails, Amy, Rory, And the Doctor were all completely speechless. Sonic had missed pretty much all of what Pinkie had just said. It went over his head and landed somewere far, far back behind him in the dirt and then promptly buried itself deep in the ground. He just stood there looking dumbfounded. The Doctor shook his head, straightened up and began to answer some of Pinkie’s questions. “Hello Pinkie, I am The Doctor and these are my companions, Amy and Rory.” He gestured to them. “Yes. I guess you could say we are new in town and no, we did not come here with Sonic.” Sonic was amazed that the Doctor had actually kept up with all those questions. “One of the Emeralds was acting strangely,” Tails piped up, and when we ran a few tests on it, the thing went heywire and transported Sonic and me here.” “As for how we got here,” Rory added. “We come from another universe. The TARDIS, the ship that we can use to travel through time and space, picked up on the flow of energy that Sonic’s Emerald left behind and followed in out of our universe and into yours.” The Doctor looked a bit disappointed at not getting to explain it. “And when we crashed, the TARDIS went dead and we were ponies. So we are using Sonic’s Emerald to repair the TARDIS and get us all back to our own worlds in our own bodies.” Amy finished. The Doctor was now very upset t not getting the opportunity to be the one to explain the situation. “Well,” he scoffed. “Since you all are clever enough to just explain everything, I guess you don’t need me right now.” He swiveled his head around quickly to survey the area. “Is there a clothing store or boutique were I might find a hat?” he asked Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, who had stayed quite this whole time. Sonic noticed Amy roll her eyes. “Why, yes there is,” Fluttershy answered softly, “My friend, Rarity, owns a boutique. If you just go down this road,” she pointed her hoof down a path that led through the town. “Then you will find it. It’s called “The Carousel Boutique.” You can’t miss it.” She stated. Sonic watched as the Doctor trotted down the road, grumbling something to himself. “The Carousel Boutique”? Isn’t that the Place Twilight’s friend, Rarity, wanted me and Tails to visit?” Sonic thought to himself. “I guess I will have to do that later.” Part 9 The Doctor walked into a clothing store named “The Carousel Boutique”. The Doctor found the whole building very high class. He walked inside which was nice and roomy. He saw a white unicorn working on some sort of clothing. She cocked her head to greet the Doctor. "Welcome to Carousel Boutique, where every garment is chic, unique and magnifique.” She greeted him. “I am Rarity, I will be right with---Oh dear Celestia!” she cried out when she saw the Doctor. The Doctor flinched, startled at the pony’s reaction. “That tie you are wearing… it is all wrong for you.” She critiqued. The Doctor scowled. “Excuse me? I happen to like my Bow-Tie. Bow-Ties are cool.” He said in defense. “Yes. Yes. But it is all wrong for you. I mean… green… really? It does nothing to compliment you,” Rarity said. “Here let me find you a much better one.” She ran in to a back room of some sort. A moment later she returned with a rather large box of assorted Bow-Ties following her and being held up by her magic. “Now let’s see what the Fabulous Rarity can find for you.” “Wait. What’s wrong with green?” the Doctor asked. “I happen to like the colour green. It is the colour of my eyes. It is the colour of the light on my Sonic screwdriver, and there is quite a bit of green inside the—.” The Doctor’s rant was cut short by Rarity. “But green is not complimenting you at all. Now hold still” Rarity lifted a tie and held it up in front of The Doctor to get a visual on what he would look like in it. “This is going to be a long afternoon.” The Doctor thought. Several hundred Bow-Ties and 45 minutes later, Rarity settled on one tie; a gray Bow-Tie with a red plaid design. The Doctor admired himself in the mirror. “Well, hello there you handsome Devil, you,” the Doctor said out loud to his reflection—and anyone else who might be listening. Rarity had a huge smile on her face. “You look absolutely smashing.” The Doctor admired himself a little longer until he remembered why he came in here in the first place. The Doctor straightened up and looked back over to Rarity. “I’m sorry. I almost forgot why I came in here in the first place.” He told her. Rarity’s smile vanished and was replaced by one of business. “Yes, of course. I am terribly sorry.” She apologized. “How can I help you?” The Doctor smiled. “I was wondering if you sold hats?” he asked. Rarity got a look of pure delight “Why yes I do. Hats are my specialty.” She boasted. “Any hat in particular?” she asked. “A Fez.” The Doctor said simply. “A…Fez?” Rarity asked in disbelief. “Are you sure?” “Yes, a Fez. Preferably crimson with not to long of a tassel.” The Doctor commanded. Confused, Rarity disappeared into the back room and returned a few minutes later with a clean, new fez. That Doctor smiled, delighted with his new hat. The Doctor placed the Fez on his head; looking at himself in the mirror once more. As the Doctor admired himself, the door to the boutique flew open. Amy rushed in, panicked and breathing hard as if she had just run a great distance. “Doctor, we need your help.” She managed to gasp out between breaths. “What’s wrong Amy?” the Doctor asked, worried now. “Sonic and Dash were racing when a giant robot-alien thing came out of nowhere and started attacking.” Amy nearly screamed out. The Doctor’s face got serious. Rarity was in utter shock. “Amy, I have an idea, but we need to get back to the TARDIS.” The Doctor said taking charge. “What are we going to do Doctor?” Amy asked. “Save this town!” he said in determination. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Hey, AppleJack, I need to use your Apple fields to race,” Rainbow blurted out to her orange friend selling apples in a small stand set up neatly with the other food stands in the market. Upon hearing this tone of rudeness from Rainbow Dash, AppleJack’s face turned into an annoyed scowl. “An’ a very good mornin’ t’you too Dash.” AppleJack greeted sarcastically, upset about Rainbow’s sudden demand. “Dash could have found a much more polite way to ask.” Sonic thought to himself. Sonic remembered seeing this pony last time. He did not get a chance to introduce himself. “Hey yer’ that feller who saved mah farm awhile back.” AppleJack exclaimed when she noticed Sonic. “Ah don’t believe we had the pleasure of meetin’, the names AppleJack.” The pony greeted Sonic, taking his hand and shaking it violently. Once Sonic got his hand back he introduced himself. “I’m Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog and this is my friend, Tails.” He stepped aside to reveal his fox friend. Tails just smiled and gave a small two finger salute. “If y’all want to race on mah farm, go ahead.” AppleJack said cheerfully. “Y’all saved the apples from them creatures anyhow.” She gave a small smile and turn away for a second to help a customer. Sonic had noticed that Pinkie Pie had disappeared. AppleJack turned back to her group of friends. “Rainbow, y’all should know were the field is, and please, don’t make a mess.” She warned, looking at Dash intently as she said that last part. Sonic and Rainbow walked back across the road to where Fluttershy, Amy and Rory were waiting. “Okay, we have a place to race now.” Rainbow announced as she approached. “What happened to your pink friend? I’m sorry, what was her name?” Rory asked. He looked up and down the streets but Sonic doubted he would be able to spot her with all the other multi-colored, pastel ponies walking around and obstructing their view. “Pinkie Pie? Who knows? She runs off from time to time to do…well, whatever it is that Pinkie Pie does.” Rainbow explained, hovering in the air. “Come on let’s not waste any time, let’s go pick up Twilight and get the race started.” Rainbow stated impatiently. The group walked through the town, stopped at the library to pick up Twilight and Spike, Twilight’s number one assistant, and headed out of the town to sweet Appleacres. It was a good day for a race. The sky was clear but it was not too hot. Everything seemed to just be singing life, color and beauty. “This is the kind of day for an adventure!” Sonic thought. As the group walked on Apple trees began to spring up. Gradually more and more Apple trees lined the side of the path. In the distance, the path lead up to a two story house and barn, but before Sonic could see what else was at the end of the path the group veered into an opening in the trees. The sight of so many Apple trees was just as amazing as the last time Sonic saw it. “I’ve never seen so many Apple trees in one place before, have you Rory?” Amy asked, her eyes were wide and a small smile on her face. Rory shook his head and looked at Amy. “No I haven’t. It is just marvelous” He answered. “But I bet the Doctor wouldn’t think it was though.” Amy got a silly grin on her face. “, Because apples are rubbish.” She imitated the Doctor’s voice. Both Amy and Rory began cracking up at the inside joke. Just seeing the two ponies laugh and have a good time brought a smile to Sonic face. Then Sonic remembered that soon he would have to say good bye to them, possibly forever. Would he ever see them again after they left? Sonic thought on this, not noticing that other ponies were walking by the group. It was only when a brown stallion with a gray and dark red stripped mullet bummed up agents Sonic. “Oh excuse me.” The Pony said in a deep yet surprised voice, and then trotted ahead. “It’s okay…huh?” Sonic was suddenly aware of the crowd of ponies up ahead. “What’s all this? What’s going on?” He asked as they all approached. Rainbow Dash was just as confused as Sonic.” I guess they are all here to watch us race.” Dash guessed. The path opened up to a large area. Hey bales lined out the track that Rainbow and Sonic would be racing on. There was a checkered Starting line in the middle of the track. Up ahead Sonic saw the familiar pink pony, Pinkie Pie, putting up a large banner with the shape of Sonic and Rainbow’s heads on it. “Pinkie did you do all this?” Twilight asked Pinkie when they walked up to her. Pinkie grinned in accomplishment. “Yupper Depper Doo! I sure did.” She sang out. “This…this is just amazing.” Rory was mystified. “How did you do all this?” Amy asked. Pinkie bounced around the small group as she explained. “Well, when I heard AppleJack give us permission to use this place as a race track I got a brilliant idea. Why not invite the whole town out to see the race. So with the help of a few ponies, I got the race track all set up and invited every pony and told them to invite their friends, and invite their friend’s friends. So I have been here all day getting the whole thing set up.” Pinkie grinned an I’m- so- clever kind of grin when she finished her explanation. Spike, the small purple dragon with green spikes, climbed off Twilight who he was riding and walked up to Pinkie Pie. “Hey Pinkie, can I co-announce the race with you?” he asked, hope in his voice and eyes. Pinkie kept her silly grin. “Sure. Why not?” she answered Spike got a huge smile on his face and exclaimed “Yes!” Pinkie and spike walked across the field to a big pink hot air balloon Sonic did not notice before. The balloon had large speakers around the basket. Pinkie and spike got in to the balloon and picked up microphones that Sonic guessed were attached to the speakers. “Hello everypony,” Pinkie’s voice blasted out of the speakers. A few ponies standing close jumped in surprise. Rubbing their ears to sooth them from the blasting of the speakers. “And welcome to the most super, awesome and spectacular race of the year. Announcing with me today is my good friend Spike.” The balloon began to rise into the air and over the track as Pinkie said this Hello, Pinkie.” He introduced himself. “And today seems to be a fine day for racing, don’t you agree?” Spikes Amplified voice asked. “Why yes it is.” Pinkie agreed. “Today’s race is going to be a very interesting one, though. Racer number one is Ponyville’s own Rainbow Dash.” She announced. “Rainbow Dash refers to herself as the fastest flier in all of Equestria. She has proven that statement time and time again.” Spike continuing Pinkie’s follow up. “She as preformed the Sonic Rainboom, a trick many thought to be impossible, just proving to the world that with her the impossible is always possible.” He explained. “Her challenger, Sonic the Hedgehog, is a friend of ours from another world. Ooohhhh…spooky.” Pinkie changed her tone to sound spookier. “Sonic is not a pony however, shocking, I know. He is in fact a blue hedgehog.” She went on. “Isn’t that the most amazing thing you have ever heard of in your entire life?” Pinkie stopped for a brief moment noticing that she was getting a bit off track. “Sonic refers himself to as “The Fastest Thing Alive.” Can he prove it today or is Rainbow Dash the only living thing that can surpass him. Today we will find that out.” Amy, Rory, Twilight and Fluttershy had walked over to the crowed to watch the Race. Sonic And Rainbow began to ready themselves. Sonic Stretched out his legs, arms, and torso, he then began to warm up with a few jumping Jacks, pushups and sit up exercises. Rainbow on the other hand, cracked her bones. Her leg bones first, then her wings, and finally her neck. This made Sonic cringe. She then began to do pushups with her wings. After a couple pushups she leaped up in the air and did a few flips and twists in the air then landed to do more pushups. She repeated this process. “If the Racers are ready we can begin.” Spike’s voice bellowed out from up in air. Sonic and Dash took their places at the starting line. “This most certainly will be the match of the century and sparks will fly.” Pinkie commented. “And speaking of sparks I remember this one Movie I saw once.” Pinkie then started babbling on. ‘The hero had data that was supposed to be a secret but the bad guys found out and went after this pony. Any way they trapped him on top of this tall building in Chicoltgo and all hope seemed lost but then the hero pulled out the ninja swords he had and jumped off, scraping the side of the building with his swords as he fell. Sparks flew from his swords and hit the ninja Pegasus that were after him. He then pulled out his grappling hook and—.” “Pinkie we need to start the race.” Spike cut Pinkie’s story short. Sonic was a bit confused how anyone could so distracted and ramble on and on about something. He regained his focus. “Now, this will be a seven lap race.” Spike informed. “Racers take you mark.” Sonic and Dash bent down in a ready stance. “GET SET!” Pinkie said. Sonic and Dash coiled back, ready for the starting signal. “GO!” the two announcers said at the same time. A starting gun went off and Sonic and dash, in a flurry color, dashed forward. “You want a real race dash” Sonic thought. “Then just try and keep up.” Part 10 “And they are off!” Pinkie announced as the two racers sped off. Twilight watched as her two friends raced down the track. Rainbow used her speed flying, while Sonic ran. She had to admit they both were really fast. She saw that Sonic was leaving a short translucent blue trail in his wake, rainbow on the other hoof was not. “It looks like Rainbow dash is pulling ahead.” Spike commentated. “But wait Sonic doesn’t seem too worried. What do you think he is up to, Pinkie?” Spike asked his co-announcer. “Maybe he is conserving his energy, but why would he fall so far behind?” Pinkie answered. Pinkie was right; Sonic was falling way too far behind. “At this rate Rainbow will be overlapping him in no time.” Pinkie observed. “Wait, hold the phone Pinkie,” Spike said. “What phone? I don’t have a phone.” Pinkie answered. “Just look Pinkie, Sonic is doing something.” Spike told Pinkie. From were Twilight was she noticed it to, Sonic straitened his head and back, put his hands behind himself and started to accelerate. The blue trails grew more solid and longer. The strangest part was that was his legs. They when from a running potion to just a circular blur. “What’s Sonic doing?” Twilight asked herself out loud. “That’s his smooth speed up run.” She heard Tails answerer her question. “He runs at a constant pace that he can conserve energy but run faster” Tails Explained. “So basically he is making his feet one big wheel.” Amy guessed. “Well…basically, ya.” Tails confirmed. “It looks like Sonic is catching up Dash.” Spike updated the crowd of spectators. The ponies roared in cheers. Some yelling “Go, Rainbow Dash, Go!” and others cheering. “Run Sonic, you can beat her!” “It looks like we don’t have any crowed favorite here today folks.” Pinkie informed, but if Dashie wants to win this thing she will have to kick it up a notch or two.” “Well we know one thing, Pinkie,” Spike said. “This is going to be one interesting race. “Wow! He’s fast” Rainbow thought as she flew down the designated race track. She stole a quick peek behind her and saw Sonic speeding up, faster and faster in a matter of seconds he would pass her and be in the lead. Sonic then zoomed past her. Dash noticed that Sonic game a small wink that seemed to say “Good job, but better luck next time.” Dash frowned at the thought. “Okay, no more holding back time to race for real!” she sped up even faster and soon Sonic began to getting closer and closer. “WOW! Look at dash go!” she heard Pinkie comment over the speaker system. This made Dash feel more confidant and soon she was about to pass Sonic. Sonic didn’t seem to see Dash catch up. Dash slowed just slightly enough to stay even with Sonic. She gave an audible cough to get his attention. Sonic glanced over and dash wished she had a camera to capture the shocked expression on his face. “So, you have gotten faster.” Sonic said to Rainbow Dash, looking forward again. Before dash could answer they turned a corner. Dash maneuvered it with ease, Sonic however turned it by skidding his feet on the ground and drifting the outside corner of the turn. This gave dash a huge leap in the race. “And it looks like that turn gave dash a huge jump in this race.” Spike announced. “Do you think Sonic will be able to catch up?” he asked his co-commentator. “I don’t know, but if that happens every time Sonic hits that turn then Dash will have this wrapped up in the bag.” Pinkie Answered. “Looks like the first lap is coming to a close. We are now getting into the Second. Dash rushed over the mark that signified the completion of lap one. “Only four more laps to—What the Hey?” her thoughts of victory were cut short when a flash of blue rushed past her. It was Sonic and he was running fast, really fast. There was a loud roar of cheering coming from the stands as Sonic sped by. “Holy cow, look at that Sonic go.” Spike said. “How fast do you think he is going?” he asked Pinkie Pie. “I would say he is about to break the sound barrier.” She answered. “What? Is that possible?” Dash thought. She was getting worried that she might lose. “Only one thing to do,” She said out loud. She took a quick gulp, and slowly accelerated forward. “, Gotta go faster.” She thought. “Look Spike. Dash is speeding up.” Dash and Sonic were going so fast that the second lap was already done and they were half way through the third. Dash was now right behind Sonic and an air pocket was forming around both of them. “Faster, Faster, Faster.” She thought. The pocket of air was now cone shaped around her and with one last push, BOOM!, a double explosion of sound and color erupted and the third lap was finished. “A Sonic Rainboom!” Pinkie and spike both said in a mix of excitement and amazement. Sonic and Dash had both pulled off a Sonic Rainboom at the same time and the end of the forth lap was in sight. The rush of a double Sonic boom was exhilarating to Sonic as he and Dash pushed past the sound barrier. Sonic saw that Rainbow Dash was leaving a rainbow trail behind her, just like his blue streak. “She sure is something special.” Sonic thought. As soon as the burst of speed happened is stopped and the end of the race was in sight. Those last two laps went by in a blur, and the final lap was about to crown the winner. “Aaahhh!” Sonic heard a scream in the crowed. Sonic and Dash both turned their heads to see caused the scream. What Sonic saw, almost gave him a heart attack. There, coming out of the thick of the Apple orchard, was a large Metal robot. It was looked like a very large egg-pawn, except with four arms, jets on it back, large wristbands that most likely held an assortment of weapons, and a Roman looking helmet. It was gray all over except for it joints which were a swirling black color, and some sort of insignia on its helmet. Sonic could swear he had seen that design somewhere before but had no clue were. Sonic and Dash veered off the track, not caring to finish the race, to stop the Beast. “What is this thing?” Twilight yelled over to Sonic and Dash. Pinkie Pie and Spike were sill Floating in the balloon. “Everypony, stay calm and evacuate the area.” Spike was trying to calmly order the crowd. Sonic was doing his best to help the evacuation of the ponies as the metal monster made his way to where they all were. Fluttershy had long since flown off in fright Sonic had noticed. He turned back to the friends that were still trying to help the evacuation. “Tails, Amy, Rory. Help everyone to safety.” He commanded his friends. “Dash, Twilight can you help me stop that thing?” Twilight was in a panic. “Help you? What is that thing?” She asked in a very scared and worried tone. The metal monstrosity was only 10 yards away; luckily a majority of the crowd had already left. “That’s a robot made by a guy named Dr. Robotnik, but we call him Eggman.” Tails explained. “That looks like his “Egg Bateleur” but with an extra set of arms.” “And what’s with that black paint job on all its joints?” Sonic asked. Tails just shrugged his shoulders. “Wait Amy, where are you going?” Sonic heard Rory yell out. Sonic looked and saw that Amy was running through the crowd of Ponies. Amy looked back. “To find the Doctor. He can help us.” She tuned forward and ran on. “Alright Tails, Rory you help the ponies back in to town. We can handle things here.” Sonic said. Tails and Rory both nodded. “Got it, be safe Sonic.” Tails said. “I will.” He answered. “Alright team. LET’S DO IT TO IT!” Part 11 “Doctor, where are we going?” Amy asked as she, the Doctor and Rarity, ran through the town. A large mass of ponies were running into town. “We have to get to the TARDIS. It should be operational by now.” The Doctor explained. They tuned on the path that the Doctor remembered went up to Fluttershy’s Cottage were the TARDIS was. “But what if we are too late?” Amy asked, panting hard from running so much. “Amy, it’s a time machine, remember?” the Doctor said. Fluttershy’s cottage was in view and the Doctor could barely make out the blue of his TARDIS. “There it is.” He exclaimed. “All we do is set it to just after you left.” “Excuse me.” Rarity huffed, stopping the Doctor and Amy. “Just who are you and what are you talking about?” Rarity had a deep frown on her face and it was clear to the Doctor that she would not move or let them move until she got answers. The Doctor let out a huff. “I’m the Doctor. This is my companion Amy Pond.” He explained quickly. “We come from somewhere else but we crashed here when my space ship went haywire.” There, is that enough? Because and explain the rest in side my TARDIS.” The Doctor was feeling very anxious. The frown of Rarity’s face was a lot less deep but still there. “That will have to do for now. But I expect a full explanation later.” She flipped her mane. “Now Doctor, please, carry on. The Doctor, Amy, And Rarity ran up to the Blue Police box. “Alright, everyone into the TARDIS now. We haven’t got much time.” The Doctor panted out. “You expect all to fit in there?” Rarity asked surprised. Amy just let out an annoyed sigh. “Oh come on, we don’t have time for this.” She said as she pushed the White unicorn into the TARDIS. The Doctor followed suit. Rarity was Standing in the console room shocked at what she was seeing, her mouth agape. “I-It’s, It’s bigger—.” She started to say but then cut off by the Doctor. “Usually I love this part when they say “Bigger on the inside.” But right now is not the best time.” The Doctor said as he rushed up to the controls. “Now let’s set this baby to were the danger is ten minutes ago.” The Doctor said. “Now Amy, where are they?” he asked. “In an Apple orchard.” Amy answered. The Doctor face palmed. “Or for all in case and purposes, “Face-hoof.” The Doctor corrected in his mind. “You need to be more specific than that.” The Doctor groaned. “You know what never mind, I can find them myself.” The Doctor turned back to the console and, with the best he could manage with his hooves, he pulled a switch and the TARDIS shook. “Are you sure she can manage time travel?” Amy asked as the Doctor began flipping switches and pushing buttons. “Of course I’m sure, well I’m pretty sure.” The Doctor said uncertainly. Amy just stared at him unimpressed. “Alright I’m not sure completely but I know she can pull through for us. The TARDIS rocked and shock all about. The screams of Rarity were starting to get on the Doctors nerves but, he tried to ignore it. “Get me off this Crazy thing?” She yelled. Just then the TARDIS stopped and the Doctor put on a pleased smile. “Alright, now everyone out, out, out.” He said as he signaled for the other two to fallow him out. The doors opened up with a CRRRREAK and the Doctor stopped dead in his tracks as he saw a large metal robot making its way towered the group of Sonic, Twilight Sparkle, and Rainbow Dash. “Doctor!” Twilight called over to him. The Doctor, Amy, and Rarity moved closer to the group. “Where did you come from?” Twilight asked. “Amy you only left a minuet ago how did you get here so fast?” The Doctor decided to answer for Amy. “My TARDIS is a time machine, remember.” Twilight nodded. “Doctor what are we going to do?” Amy asked worried. “And where’s Rory?” she swiveled her head to look for her husband. “It’s alright. He and Tails are helping evacuate the ponies to safety.” Twilight reassured. The Doctor took out his Sonic Screwdriver and waved in the direction of the large monster, and then he examined the tip of the Screwdriver. “Okay. I have good news and I have bad news.” The Doctor announced. Sonic and Dash came up to join the group. “I don’t know if you noticed but there is a huge monster about kill us!” Dash blurted out to the group. “Come on let turn that thing into scrap metal.” She turned to fly at the giant robot. “Wait” The Doctor said stopping rainbow dash. Dash groaned and rolled her eyes. “What is it?” she asked impatiently. “That thing has a field around it that will keep it safe from any attack.” The Doctor explained. “Like A force field?” Twilight asked. The Doctor nodded his head. “Precisely.” “Then how do we stop it?” Rainbow asked. “Now that’s the good news.” The Doctor took a step towered the TARDIS then turned to face everyone. “The force field protecting it is being projected from somewhere else. But I can use the TARDIS to jam the signal and redirect it to the TARDIS itself.” The Doctor was quite pleased with himself for being so clever. “Now I will need some time. Can you distract it for me?” the Doctor asked. “You need a distraction? You got it!” Rainbow nudged Sonic indicating she has a plan. “Hey Sonic, let keep those arms of his busy with a game of superSonic tag. What do you say” Dash asked Sonic with a mischievous grin.” Sonic put on the same sort of grin and turned towered the robot which was now only a few yards away. “You’re on!” he cried. Sonic and rainbow Dash, dashed around the opposite sides of the robot. The robot tuned around to take chase at Sonic and Rainbow Dash. The Doctor was pleased and looked back at the four ponies still in the group. “Now I will need about three minutes to jam the broadcasting signal. Twilight I need you to help distract the monster, do you have any projectile…magic?” The Doctor asked. “I have an energy blast that might do the trick.” Twilight informed. The Doctor nodded his head and then turned to Amy and Rarity. “Now you two, I will need your help back in the TARDIS.” The Doctor motioned to the two to follow him. Rarity stayed put. “If you think that for minuet I will go back into that…that thing, then you are sorely mistaken.” Rarity warned the Doctor. Amy got a scowl on her face. “Now looky here missy, if there is one thing I have learned from the Doctor then it’s that ,When the Doctor has a plan and needs your help, then you very darn well help.” Amy scolded Rarity. “Rarity they need your help, we need your help, I need your help.” Twilight reasoned with her. “Fine, I Will help if it means it will stop that horrid beast.” Rarity consented. “Great, now come along pond and Ms. Rarity.” The Doctor said as he walked back into the TARDIS. Sonic ran around the Egg Bateleur, occasionally jumping in the air to knock it back but it was fruitless. “This clearly is not working.” Dash yelled to Sonic as she cracked her hoofs down on the top of it head. Dash then recoiled in pain, rubbing her hoofs to sooth them. “You think.” Sonic called back sarcastically, as he sidestepped a punch from the robot fiend. “It’s those arms of his. If we could tie them up then we may stand a better chance.” Sonic said. He jumped in the air and landed on top of the robot head. The robot raised his arm to smack Sonic off. At the last second Sonic jumped off and the Robot ended up punching itself in the head. Rainbow was showing signs of exhaustion and Sonic could feel it set in on him as well. “I don’t think I will be able to keep this up much…more?” Rainbow stopped as a bolt of purple light shot by and hit the robot square on the forehead. “You guys need help?” Twilight asked as she readied herself to fire another energy shot. Sonic was relieved to have some more help. “When is the Doctor going to jam up that force field or whatever?” Dash asked when Twilight shot another bolt of energy at the robot. “He will be ready in just a minute. We need to keep it bust until then.” Twilight answered. “How are you holding up?” “Not too well.” Sonic told her. “It like with every hit it takes our energy away.” Twilight shot another bolt of energy. The robot staggered but looked unharmed. Sonic curled into his spin dash and pounded away on the robot, which did next to nothing as well. “Stand back. I have an idea.” Rainbow said as she began to circle the robot. She went faster and faster until a whirlwind was created. The whirlwind soon turned in to a mini tornado. The robot seemed un-phased by this and just batted Dash away. “Ouch! That’s smart.” Rainbow groaned as she picked herself up off the ground. “Twilight, Darling,” Sonic heard Rarity’s voice call Twilight. “the Doctor gave me a message to give to you.” “What is it?” Twilight asked. “GERONIMO” Rarity called out. Suddenly the robot sparked and a hexagonal force around the robot appeared and then dissolved away. “Okay, now the playing field has been leveled.” Sonic called out. “Let’s get him.” “Charge!” Dash cried as she and Sonic raced towered the robot. Sonic jumped into the Air and curled into a ball and began to bash into the robot repeatedly causing major damage to it. Twilight hit the robot repeatedly in the helmet with her energy shots. Rainbow bucked at the joints of the robot. “Sonic, I have an idea. Grab on.” Rainbow offered her hooves for Sonic to take hold of. “Okay, I get ya.” Sonic said as he took old of Dash’s hooves. Dash flew strait up into the air. She flew high, very high. So high in fact Sonic could see the other side of Ponyville in the distance. Dash then began looping in the air. Faster and faster, rainbow looped and then with a mighty heave, tossed Sonic at high speeds strait down at the Robot. Sonic was ready and flew strait at the robot. Sonic curled in to a ball and with a SLASH Ripped right through the damaged monster. Sonic crashed in to the ground creating a small crater in the ground. Surprisingly, Sonic was unhurt from the impact, the impact; however, was so great that the robot was reduced to scrap metal. Sonic crawled out of his crater brushing himself off. When he looked around Sonic was relieved. “We did it.” He thought to himself. “We saved the day” Part 12 “You really have to leave?” Twilight asked the Doctor as he and his companions got ready to leave. Thanks to the efforts of everyone Twilight was able to clean up the clearing of the destroyed robot and the mess of the race that was never finished. Pinkie, spike, Fluttershy, Rory, and Tails had rejoined the group when they helped all the ponies back into town. “I’m afraid so.” The Doctor said downheartedly. “And this is one way ticket I’m afraid.” Twilight was sad about her new friends leaving. “So that means no coming back to visit?” Twilight asked, tears forming in her eyes because she already knew the answer. “Us coming here was pure accidental.” The Doctor explained. “I have modified the TARDIS to not be able to pick up the energy of your Chaos Emeralds. Once we leave, we will never see you again.” “And I’m afraid that once we leave, we may never be able to see each other either.” Tails informed. Twilight couldn’t hold it back any longer, she started to cry. “Hey, cheer up.” Sonic told Twilight. “Remember what our friend Sora said.” Twilight thought back to what her other friend, Sora, had told her and Sonic last time he was here. “You mean that we won’t really be apart as long as we remember each other?” Twilight asked. Sonic nodded and smiled. He put his hand under Twilights chin and gently tilled it up so that she was looking at Sonic. “No crying, No tears. The future holds so many adventures, As long as you don’t brood on the troubles of the past.” Twilight smiled she knew Sonic was right. “You’re always with me, all of you, because you’re in my heart.” Sonic said, putting his hand over his heart. “Hey, I just have one question, how did that Robot get here?” Rainbow piped up. Tails turned to the blue Pegasus. “I think it was just a casualty, the Emerald must have picked it up and plopped down here, It being so powerful and all.” Tails explained to her. “So we don’t need to worry about any more Giant monsters coming out to kill us?” Rainbow asked. “Nope. Once we leave the Emerald should pick up anything that it took from our world and put it back to where it was.” Tails reassured her. “Anyway, I guess this is good bye then Doctor, Amy, Rory?” Twilight turned her attention back to the Doctor. “Yes I guess it is.” The Doctor agreed sadly. ‘Thank you Twilight, thanks all of you.” The Doctor said. “Good bye Twilight, we will never ever forget you. Come along Sonic, Tails.” He said to Sonic. As Sonic turned to leave he turned slightly back to look at Twilight and gave her a wink and thumbs up, then disappeared in to the TARDIS. The ponies had departed back to Ponyville and Tails was helping the Doctor figure out how to use the Emerald to open the wall that separates all the worlds. “Are we going soon?” Sonic complained. “I thought we were supposed to leave a half hour ago.” “Well I’m sorry but universe hopping isn’t as easy for the TARDIS to do when we are trying to make her do it.” The Doctor called back to Sonic. “Aha! That did it. She’s ready to jump to your world then use the last of the Chaos Energy to take us to ours.” The Doctor explained in victory. “Finally, Let’s get this show on the—.” Sonic stopped mid-sentence when a Rapped pounding came from the TARDIS door. “Now who could that be?” the Doctor asked. “Well we best find out.” Sonic ran to the front door of the TARDIS. Sonic opened the door to reveal a panic stricken Rainbow Dash on the other side. “Dash what wrong?” Sonic asked confused. “I’m so glad I caught you before you left.” Rainbow was nearly crying. “There are more of them!” she blurted out. “Huh? More of what?” Sonic asked. He was starting to get worried. “Those Robots! They just appeared out of thin air and started attacking the town.” Rainbow told him in a panic. Sonic’s turned to pure horror “WHAT? Tails come one our jobs not—.” “Sonic wait.” The Doctor interrupted him. “There is a very little window and according to the TARDIS, if we don’t leave in the Next three minutes and 29 seconds we might be stuck here forever. And if we leave then we will never be able to come back.” “If Eggman’s robots are attacking this place then that means there is going to be Trouble.” Sonic said with worry in his voice. “I’m sorry Doctor but you will just have to go back to your world and leave us behind. I’m sure we will find a way back to our world.” The Doctor understood and nodded his head. He disconnected the Emerald from the TARDIS and tossed it down to Sonic. Sonic caught with a sweep of his arm. “Good bye Sonic. It was very nice to meet you.” The Doctor said. “Safe ride home Doctor.” Sonic called back. Sonic and Tails exited the TARDIS and watched as it went VWOORP, VROORP, VWOORP and began to disappear. When the TARDIS vanished completely Sonic turned to the other two. “Okay Tails, dash. It looks like there a party we better go and not be late.” Sonic said with a determined smile on his face. “LET’S DO IT TO IT!” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “I must admit, I did not expect a biological change upon coming here.” Eggman said as he walked through a statue garden. He had changed in to a red pony, his red brown mustache stayed on his face and he had no mane. His Tail was the same color as his mustache. And he had an image in his flank it was the symbol of the egg-empire. He believed his voice friend called it a “cutie mark”. “Eggman glad to see you had a safe trip, but we have a small problem.” The voice came to Eggman. “Oh, and what is it?” Eggman asked a Friendly challenge in his tone. “Your “Dark Egg Super Bateleur” has been defeated by that hedgehog you mentioned.” he Reported. Eggman smiled evilly. “So Sonic is here.” Eggman said through his grin. “But the plan failed. Why are you happy?” the voice asked Eggman, confused. “Because that was the distraction,” he said. He lifted the watch that was on his forearm up and pushed a button that was on it. “This is.” he announced. Suddenly Heartless-egg-bots appeared all over. “My army is now all over this kingdom and anywere else there is a civilization.” “A plan that was in a plan? Clever, Eggman, Very clever.” The Voice congratulated. “Now that I help you with you part of the deal, you have to help me.” The Voice reminded Eggman. “But of course. I’m nothing if not a man of my word…well at least if it benefits me in the end.” Eggman told the voice giving a small awkward bow in his new pony form. “Good, now see that statue over there at the end of the garden?” the Voice directed Eggman to the center of the garden. All there was, was a statue of a creature. It had a dragons head and body shape but had the arm of a lion’s paw, and the arm of an eagles talon, it had two very different horns that Eggman did not even want to know which animal they came from, two different wings and one hoofed leg and one clawed leg. “Just put the Emeralds around the Statue.” He informed Eggman. Eggman took out the three Emeralds and place them at the pedestal of the statue. “Like this?” he asked. There was no reply, instead the Emeralds began to glow and a ray of light shot out of all three of them and connected at one point on the statue. The statue began to crack. The cracks got bigger, until chunks of the statue fell off. Then the whole thing crumbled to dust. When the dust cleared Eggman saw the living creature that the statue was representing. It spoke to Eggman, it being the source of the Voice that has been with Eggman this whole time. “Hello Eggman,” it said. “I am Discord god of Chaos. It is very nice to meet you finally.” “So you’re the one who has helped me through this whole ordeal?” Eggman asked. “Yes I am,” He answered. “And I believe this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership.” > CHAPTER III: CHAOTIC HEARTS > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART I Sonic looked over the destruction of the pony town, fury burned inside of him at the sight of the familiar Attackers. “Egg pawns.” He muttered out loud. Tails, who was standing next to him, put his hand on Sonic’s Shoulder; Rainbow Dash did likewise with her hoof. “c’mon Tails.” He said, putting on a face of determination. “Let’s go kick some Robot butt.” Sonic, Tails, and Rainbow Dash accelerated towered the town. “How do we beat these guys?” Dash asked when they made it in to the town. Round Black and red Robots were all over the place, breaking into stores and houses and abducting any pony they could catch. Sonic stared at the Chaos in pure rage. He shook his head clear of the anger. “Like this!” he shouted over his shoulder to Dash as he rushed at one robot. Sonic tuned in to a ball and smashed right in to the Robot. The Robot fell over damaged badly, then, just as Sonic suspected, it disappeared with a WORP Noise. When Sonic returned to his two waiting friends he saw that Rainbow’s mouth hung open in shock. “What…what did you just do?” she stuttered out. Sonic smirked. “One good hit to one of Eggman’s Robots send them back to where they came from.” Sonic told the Blue Pegasus. Dash looked confused at the blue hedgehog’s explanation. “Whenever one of Eggman’s Egg-bots is damaged badly, they are teleported back to Eggman’s base, were they are welted down and reused to make more Egg-bots.” Tails re-explained in better detail. Rainbow looked a lot less confused now. “So one good quick thrashing sends those things packing?” Rainbow asked as she leaped into the air, ready to attack the Robots. “This is going to be fun.” She said, rubbing her front hoofs together. “Let’s trash these—.” Sonic began but stopped as he saw a small could of black mist formed were he destroyed that Egg-pawn a moment ago. A new Egg-pawn appeared and went on to help in the destruction of the town. “Sonic, what just happened?” Dash asked. “I—I don’t know. I have never seen them do that before.” Sonic answered still staring on after the robot, until it turn a corner and disappeared from view. Sonic, Tails and Dash leaped in to action, bashing any robot they saw. “We are gonna need some help, Sonic” Tails called over to Sonic. “This just isn’t working.” Sonic knew Tails was Right, if they did not get help soon they would eventually run out of steam and get over taken. Sonic took out the Chaos Emerald he had and clenched it tight in his hand. He leaned down and whispered to it. “Please, someone, anyone, help us.” A small air-craft floated high in the sky, overlooking Equestria. The equine Eggman and the Draconequus, Discord, were seated in the cockpit, looking over the handy work of their attack on the land. “Eggman, I fail to see how sitting up here is going to get us any closer to capturing the kingdom.” Discord stated, getting fidgety. “I am missing perfectly good Chaos out there and I am not the cause of it.” Discord frowned deeply. “I never said you couldn’t.” Eggman said flatly, not really paying any attention to his partner. Discord smiled, beginning to hatch his first ideas of Chaos. “I think I will take some Heartless and see what kind of “Fun” they can create.” He lifted his taloned arm and a black aura resonated from it. Suddenly Heartless appeared from a black wisp. “Just don’t get into any trouble.” Eggman warned, frowning at Discord. “I don’t want to delay any plans because you messed up.” Discord was unmoved by Eggman’s harshness. “Me? The God of Chaos itself?” He asked sarcastically. “How could I possibly get into any trouble?” Discord popped a Pie into existence from nowhere. He squeezed the Pie and it turned into juice that he poured in to a cup he conjured up. “Just go and do whatever it is you do. I must monitor the forces in the major cities.” Eggman told Discord, looking intensely at the small monitor. “I need to know if any dramatic changes occur.” Discord Drank the Pie juice and then proceeded to swallow the glass that he tuned into cheese. “What kind of changes?” Discord asked. “I can’t take the risk of the Heartless Egg-pawns raising up and tuning on me.” Eggman explained. “Or have the ponies rise up and take out a large number of my, Ahem, our forces.” Eggman corrected himself. “Right now it looks like the only dramatic change is in Ponyville.” He told Discord. “I’ve found you now hedgehog.” Eggman muttered to himself then laughed. “Eggman, how could you know that, that hedgehog is there?” Discord challenged. “Trust me, he’s there alright.” Eggman simply said. Discord shrugged. “Perhaps there is something you can do for me while you’re out.” Eggman stopped Discord before he left. “And what is that?” Discord asked. “Could you distract Sonic for me?” Eggman, more ordered, then asked. Discord flashed out leaving only his floating head. “I’ll see what I can do.” He said. And with that Discord’s disembodied head flashed away in a white light. Part II Sora sat in the driver’s chair of his Gummi Ship. The Gummi ship was just lazily floating through space, with Sora just waiting for something, anything to happen. Now that his mark of mastery exam has ended and his best friend, Riku has been named a Keyblade master, Sora has decided that he will go out and see all the many different wonders of all the many different worlds. But right now nothing exciting was happening: he just sat there, waiting for the onboard computer to alert him of an adventure. “There has to be some world out there that has a new adventure waiting for me.” He wined, sliding to the floor of the ship, convinced that he has died of boredom. Sora was just about to give up on waiting for an adventure when he heard the beep, beep, beep. of the world alert radar. “OH BOY!” he exclaimed jumping up off the floor. “What is it, Nobodies, Heartless, Maleficent, master Xehanort?” he asked the computer. The computer did not respond back, instead, Sora pushed the button that stops the alarm and shows him what’s wrong with what world. “What’s this, Unknown world conversion link?” Sora has never come across a problem like that before in the past. “What does that mean?” he read on. “Heartless too, Alright!” he jumped in the air excitedly. Back at the wheel, Sora punched in the coordinates, and locked on to the world. He put the Gummi ship in orbit with the world and walked over to the Transporter to teleport down to the world. He pushed a button to activate the transporter saying “Beam me down scotty” as he did so. There was a bright flash, a moment of weightlessness, and then Sora felt solid ground under his feet once again. When his vision cleared he was almost knocked back. He was in the middle of what could be considered to be a war. Strange round metal creatures ran around, breaking the buildings and caring off, “Ponies?” Sora asked when he noticed. He looked down at himself and noticed that he was also a pony. His coat was dark gray, almost black, and his hair had turned a slightly darker brown then normal which matched his tail. “Is this what I think it is?” he asked out loud. He looked to his flank. Right there was a picture of his Keyblade, with a crown behind it, adorned on his flank. “I’m back in Equestria!” he straightened back up when he re-noticed the pony town was still under attack by those metal clad…things. As Sora looked on, he saw the familiar Heartless symbol on the chest of the creatures. “These things are heartle—HEY!” one of the Heartless monsters had taken hold of Sora. Sora screamed at what happened next. The Heartless spoke to him. “YOU SHALL COME WITH ME. YOU WILL BE ROBOTISIZED AND PLACE IN THE ARMY FOR THE EGGMAN EMPIRE.” It said in a very monotone and robot like voice. “The Hell I am! And how are you even talking? I thought only very strong Heartless could speak.” Sora asked in pure fright. Before he even got an answer he summoned his Keyblade, which he held firm in his teeth, and gave it a very strong and powerful swing at his captor. The Heartless thing disappeared with a POOF and Sora ran off to find the friends he knew could help, he had to find Twilight Sparkle. Part III Twilight was very sad that she had to say goodbye to her friends, Sonic, Tails, the Doctor, Amy, and Rory, possible forever but they were probably gone by now and she had to be strong like Sonic said. She, very slowly, walked back to her library tree home, wanting to send a letter to her Mentor and teacher, Princess Celestia. She was about half a block away from her house, when, “AAAHHH!” the screams of many ponies was heard throughout the whole town. “There are more of them?” she heard a pony yell. She turned her head, and all along the streets she saw that there were monsters that looked like the one that attacked in the middle of the race from that very afternoon, only much smaller, red and had only two arms instead of four. Rainbow, who was flying overhead getting a better view of this attack, swooped down next to the fleeing Twilight. “What are these things?” she asked Twilight. “They look sort of like the big guy we destroyed earlier today.” Twilight ran into her library, followed by Dash. She then used her magic to put a magical shield around the tree. She turned back to Dash in a panic. “These things came from Sonic’s world.” She told the Pegasus. Twilight raced around the room, looking for a quill and some paper. “But I thought Tails said that once they left, the Chaos Emerald would pull anything that it dropped in our world would be sent back.” Rainbow said to Twilight, watching her friend look for a quill. Twilight found a quill and rushed to her desk, which held a jar of ink. “I think these things were sent here. I need to warn the Princess.” she explained as she began to write out her letter, repeating the words she wrote out loud. “Dear Princess Celestia,” she began. “I am writing to you about an attack here in Ponyville.” She dipped the quill in the ink again and then continued on. “I am Don not know if this attack is happening anywhere else in Equestria, but I feel that I must warn you, that they may invade Cantorlot. I will update you on the events that will transpire here in a later time.” She scribbled this all down franticly, ending with, “Your faithful student Twilight Sparkle.” There was no time to try and find Spike, so Twilight just used her Teleportation magic to send it instead. She turned to face Dash. “Dash, go and see if Sonic is still here. We may have a better chance to save Ponyville with him.” Twilight ordered her friend. “I’m on it!” she responded, giving a salute with her hoof before speeding off out of the library and out of the force field. Twilight had to find the rest of her friends, to make sure they were all okay. She raced out of the library and towered Rarity’s boutique, keeping the force field up so that those monsters don’t try to ruin the library. She had to be extra sneaky so she would not get caught by those monsters, but eventually she made it to Rarity’s boutique. Surprisingly it was relatively unguarded; say for a few round red and green flying monsters lingering around. Twilight didn’t know how she was going to get in there, find Rarity, get her to Come out of hiding, and then get to the others without being spotted. Then she had an idea. “I could just teleport in there.” She thought. Twilight closed her eyes, focused magic into her horn, and then began to conjure up the short range teleportation spell. A purple orb of light engulfed her and with a POOF She was inside the boutique. “Oh Twilight, darling it’s only you.” The voice of Rarity called out from somewere. Twilight turned around and saw her white unicorn friend crouching behind a fort of fabric, boxes, and mannequins. “For a moment I thought that those horrid, and might I add unbelievably tacky Monsters, had broken into my boutique.” Rarity sighed then walked out from her fort. “How come the monsters aren’t attacking this place?” Twilight asked Rarity. Rarity smiled, flipped her hair and 1ooked proud of her self. “It was something really simple really.” She bragged. “I just used an undesirable spell on the boutique. It seem to have worked since those monsters have yet to take any real notice of it.” Twilight had to admit it that was clever thinking. “Now why are you here, Twilight?” Rarity asked as she checked the structure of her fort. “We need to get all the girls together.” She said quickly. “Please help me, Rarity. I need you.” Twilight was almost trying to pull Rarity with her. “I suppose, if you have a plan.” Rarity said. “Okay, I am going to teleport us out of here.” Twilight warned Rarity, in advanced. She repeated the process she used to get in to the boutique, but this time taking in account for Rarity. There was a flash of light and the next thing Twilight knew she was outside the boutique, Rarity standing beside her. “Oh my word,” Rarity said as she staggered around. “I’m still not used to your teleportation spell.” “Sorry about that Rarity.” Twilight apologized. “Ponies who aren’t used to teleportation can get a bit woozy.” Rarity nodded her head, no longer dizzy. “It’s quite alright.” She reassured Twilight. “Lead on.” Twilight and Rarity ran to go find Pinkie Pie. They were only a block away from Sugar Cube Corner, when Twilight saw what looked like the epicenter of the invasion. There were monster crawling all over and around Sugar Cube Corner. Twilight was worried that Pinkie had been captured by those things, but she had to at least try and hope that Pinkie was alright. “Oh, I hope Pinkie is alright.” Twilight said. BOOM an explosion nocked back a whole bunch of the monsters blocking the way to the entrance of bakery. In the gap that was made stood Pinkie Pie with a blue cannon, which she had used to blow away the monsters. Twilight was not sure how Pinkie had managed to knock over a large amount of the monster using only her Party cannon, but yet, Pinkie Pie is Pinkie Pie, and that’s all the explaining that is needed. “Pinkie, come with us!” Twilight shouted over to her pink friend, who was somehow shooting round after round from her Party cannon without reloading it. “We need you’re…” Twilight’s voice trailed away at what was running towered her, bushing the monsters on the way. Twilight was then forced from her hiding spot when several of the monsters spotted her and Rarity giving chase to them. Twilight and Rarity ran towered Pinkie who was still blowing up as many monsters as possible but the three ponies were surrounded. “This is the end.” Twilight thought to herself, closing her eyes so she couldn’t see the attack coming. She waited for a good several second then she opened her eyes again. The monsters had vanished replaced by a young colt panting, but still scanning the area in a defensive stance, in case the monsters showed up. The new pony turned his head and Twilight got a glimpse of the weapon. She had seen that weapon only once before. She took a glance at the colt cutie mark, a picture of the same weapon, with a crown behind it. Twilight opened her mouth to speak. “Sora?” Part IV Sonic was tired. It did not matter how many Egg-bots her smashed they just kept coming back. Sonic only had one option left. “Retreat!” he Shouted over to Tails and Dash. They two looked worn out beyond belief. Rainbow looked shocked. “Retreat, and leave Ponyville in danger?” dash yelled back over to Sonic. “We are not leaving the town; we just need to regroup is all.” Sonic explained. Tails and Dash both grunted in understanding. They broke away from the Bots they were wrestling with and followed Sonic away from the fight. After the three were sure they were safe, Tails piped up. “What do we do now, Sonic?” He asked, weary. Sonic thought for a moment, then an Idea formed in his head. “Let go find Twilight.” He concluded. The other two look satisfied with that plan and the group made their way carefully to Twilight’s house. A Barrier was protecting the whole tree. Tails went up to it and tapped in with his finger. It was solid and glass like. “What is this?” he asked Dash. “It’s Twilight’s force field.” She answered. Sonic frowned. “How do we get past it?” Sonic asked. Rainbow Dash shrugged. “I think Twilight has to take it down for us to pass through.” She guessed. “Then let’s go find her.” Sonic said running off in a random direction. He was stopped by Rainbow calling after him. “Do you even know were she is?” she asked him. Sonic hadn’t thought of that. He just shrugged and went back over to his friends. “Where do you think they are?” Sonic asked. Rainbow put her hoof to her chin and looked at the ground in thought. “Well, I think she said she was going to go find the Elements of Harmony.” Sonic and Tails groaned simultaneously. Sonic knew what to expect now after doing a similar thing time and time again. “We have to go on another hunt for mystic charms?” Sonic wined. Rainbow was taken aback in surprise. “Hunt, what are you talking about?” She asked in deep confusion.” “Mystic charms, that have a lot of power, which could help us save the day, Sonic and I do that all the time with the Chaos Emeralds.” Tails explained. Rainbow shook her head and waved her hooves. “Wait. Wait. Wait. The Elements Harmony Aren’t Things.” Rainbow explained quickly. “Oh then what are they” Tails asked. “The Elements of Harmony are: Kindness, Generosity, Laughter, Honesty, Loyalty, and Magic,” Dash said, counting each one off on imaginary fingers. “And they resided in Ponies who genially represent them.” “Well who are they then?” Sonic asked, starting to get panicked. He then realized something, he looked around. “And what happened to all the Egg-bots?” he asked not seeing any. Tails and Rainbow looked around, just now noticing that there were no Egg-bots around. Dash seemed to fix her gaze on something. “I see one.” She exclaimed. “Over there.” She pointed her hoof. Sonic and Tails looked to where she was pointing. Sure enough there was stubby Egg-pawn waddling quickly away. “Let’s get it.” Rainbow said. Tails put his hands up to stop her. “Wait. Let’s fallow it; maybe it can lead us to Twilight.” He explained. “That’s a bit of a farfetched assumption there buddy.” Sonic said, cracking a small smile. “But I trust you always know what you doing.” Tails smiled, embarrassed and rubbed the back of his head with his hand. “Thanks Sonic.” The three fallowed the Egg-bot, making sure not to get to close but not too far to lose sight of it either. Sonic again noticed that all the Egg-bots seemed to have just disappeared. “It’s taking us to Sugar Cube Corner.” Dash whispered. Dash was Right, Sonic Realized. This rout was going to take them right to the Pastry shop. “Why would it take…us…there?” Sonic trailed off his sentence as he saw a large mass of Egg-bots congregating around the Store. Sonic noticed that they were surrounding Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, And a Forth Pony Sonic did not recognized. Sonic looked back to the two friends behind him, but only saw Tails. Rainbow Dash was missing. He looked back over to the mass of Egg-bots in time to see a blur of blue Rush at the Egg-bots. It was Rainbow Dash. Sonic instinctively leapt to his feet and rushed out to help Dash, Tails fallowed suit. “Are you Okay, guys?” Sonic called over to the four Ponies that were surrounded. “Get out of here, we can distract them.” Sonic commanded. He jumped in to the air, curled into a ball and bounced off several Egg-bots. They fell over and disappeared only to reappear a moment later. “Not this again.” Sonic grumbled to himself. Sonic placed his palm to his face, thinking that this was never going to end. Bang, clang, crunch, Poof Sonic looked up to see the source of the noise. The Brown Pony Sonic did not recognize had joined him and had bashed the Egg-bot with…a Key? Sonic now recognized the pony. “Hey there, Sonic. Need some help?” the Pony asked. Sonic did not answer, he was too shocked. After seeing this pony, he suddenly was able to put two and two together. “S-Sora?” Sonic stuttered out. Sonic looked down in defeat. “It’s all over” Sonic thought to himself “The whole world is doomed.” Part V Sora ran around Heartless after Heartless, bashing his Keyblade into them to get rid of them, but they just kept coming at him. “I just have to make it to Sugar Cube Corner.” He thought. “But how am I going to do that when they won’t let off my back.” Then Sora got an idea, he jumped high up into the air and glided over all the Heartless attacking. That escape plan was short lived when one of the Heartless lifted its arm and pointed it at Sora. A ball of electricity shot out of its wrist and headed straight for Sora. It hit Sora square in the chest. This Knocked Sora out of the air and he fell to the ground with Thud “Ouch, since when did Heartless start using weapons?” Sora asked out loud to no…pony in particular. Sora did not have time to try to figure that out. He scrambled to his feet…hooves, and ran as fast as he could in the direction he remembered Sugar Cube Corner was supposed to be. He was not sure if the Heartless were following him but he dare not look back, he just stared straight ahead, bashing Heartless out of the way every now and then, he just had to find Twilight. He saw the familiar building, where he first met the lavender Unicorn, in the distance. He also saw a very large group of Heartless surrounding the building and more coming to join. Thinking fast, Sora Jumped up on to a balcony but stumbled a bit not quite used to his hooves and how they work. When he regained his balance Sora Peered over to the group, no, crowd of Heartless. In the middle of the crowd were three ponies, a pink pony, a white pony, and a purple pony. Sora recognized Twilight and Pinkie Pie, but had never seen the third pony before. From where Sora was, he could see that the Heartless were trying to force them in one spot. “NO! Twilight!” he yelled. He jumped from his perch and ran over to the Army of Heartless, Bashing away at them until he cut a clean gap in the group. Sora saw that Twilight had her eyes shut tight, but after a moment she opened them and stared straight at him. She opened her mouth to speak. “Sora?” Twilight asked. “But why are you here?” Sora was about to answer when he remembered the army of Heartless. “I’ll explain later, right now we got to fight.” Sora said. He summoned the Keyblade and when to a defensive stance, well at least the best he could manage in his Pony form, as he Army of Heartless closed in on all four ponies, forcing theme in to a tight group. Sora knew he and his friends would never be able to take on this many Heartless. Right as the Heartless were about to attack, two blue blurs smashed into some of the Heartless in the back of the crowed. He heard a familiar voice call out to them. “Are you Okay, guys?” The voice called out. Sora watched as a blue ball bounced around the Heartless, knocking them over, but as soon as they disappeared they reappeared. Sora couldn’t just stand there. He rushed over to hero, who was trying to save him and his friends. He got over just in time. He smashed the Heartless with his Keyblade, saving his old friend just in time. “Thank goodness I got to him in time.” Sora thought, wanting the pounding terror of his heart to stop. . “Hey there, Sonic. Need some help?” Sonic removed his hands from his face and stared at Sora. “S-Sora?” He stuttered out. Sonic looked down as if in defeat. “What’s wrong, Sonic?” Sora asked. Sonic looked up, a new found fire in his eyes. “No time to explain. We have to get out of here!” he ordered. “Fall back. We need to get out of here!” He shouted to the rest of the group, who were doing their best to dodge the Heartless. “We’re bit tied up right now, Sonic.” A voice answered back, a bit annoyed. Sora remembered the voice belonging to the blue Pegasus, Rainbow Dash. Sora looked over to where Rainbow had called back to Sonic. He saw that she was flying around the Heartless and getting them to shoot each other with their wrist canons. Boom Sora turned to see what had made the big explosion. He saw Pinkie Pie, the incredibly pink Pony, shooting at the Heartless with a canon that seemed to cover the Heartless in streamers, confetti, and, Balloons. Sora would have looked around to see what the others were doing but he decided to jump into the action instead. Sora bashed one Heartless after another, swinging his Keyblade with his mouth in excellent marksmanship, for being a Pony at least. He danced around his foes, dodging there attacks. He saw another Heartless just a couple feet in front of him, he pointed the Keyblade at the Heartless and yelled out, “Fire!” and a ball of fire shot from his Keyblade and ignited the Heartless. The Heartless flailed around; trying to put itself out but eventually toppled over and disappeared. “How did you do that?” Sora heard Twilight ask from behind him. Sora turned around to face the Unicorn but before he could answer her question, he jumped and swung the Keyblade at her. The Keyblade hit the Heartless that had made a jump towered Twilight. “You saved me.” Twilight pointed out when she realized that she was not the target of his swing. “They just keep coming!” Sora heard Sonic call out. “We need to retreat, NOW!” He shouted to everyone. “I’ll clear a path for you guys.” Sora offered as he began to mow-down a path through the Heartless. He made a nice open clearing from were Tails, the white unicorn, and Pinkie Pie were trapped, to the edge of the hoard. “Go now!” He shouted and the three ran as fast as they could out of the battle. “Head for Sweet AppleAcres, we can hide there.” Twilight Shouted. “We’ll be right behind you.” “Let’s make a brake for it.” Rainbow suggested. Sora, Sonic, Twilight, and Dash were cornered, back to back with each other. “I have a better plan.” Sonic said. He pulled out that strange gem Sora had seen last time he was here, but could not quite place the name of it. Sonic held it above his head and shouted, “CHAOS CONTROLE!” Everything went white and Sora felt as if he had been lifted up by some sort of gentle breeze. He felt like he was nowhere and yet everywhere all at the same time floating in complete peace. This last for only a few second, though, and then reality brightened into existence, but instead of the Chaos of the battle, they were on an abandoned street on what looked like the other side of town. Sora remembered that this was the path that led up to Sweet AppleAcers. “Why aren’t there any of those monsters here?” Rainbow Dash asked. Sora assumed she was talking about the Heartless. “Those Egg-bots were Heartless, weren’t they Sora?” Sonic asked Sora, sounding defeated. “Yes they were,” Sora answered. “And they have come back stronger than ever before.” Part VI Away from Ponyville, away from the fighting and away from the monsters, doing this made Twilight feel guilty. How could she just leave Ponyville to be destroyed and did it really matter? All her friends and neighbors had been captured and taken away by those…those demons from the deepest pits of Tartarus itself. “I hope Fluttershy and AppleJack are ok.” She kept thinking to herself as she, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Sonic, Tails, and Sora ran down the path that led to Sweet AppleAcres. “I hope the Heartless aren’t attacking AppleJacks Farm.” Tails huffed out as the Apple family’s big red barn came in to view. All was quiet but why would the Heartless only attack the town and not here? Twilight couldn’t figure it out. “Well howdy Twi’. How’re y’all doin’?” Twilight heard her friend, AppleJack, greet them. Twilight looked to her left to see the orange pony came trotting up to them. “What ‘appen to ya?” She asked. “It looks like you got yer-‘selves in a tassel whit a pack of bulls.” Her gaze then shifted to Sora. “Hey I ‘member you. Yer’ the pony that fought alongside Sonic to save mah farm.” Sora blushed a bit. “Ya. Oh hey have you seen any monsters of lately?” Sora asked. “Other than the one that attacked earlier today?” Twilight added. AppleJack put a hoof to her chin. “Eynope, can’t say that I have.” AppleJack answered. “Why, is somethin’ up? “So the Heartless are just attacking the town.” Twilight heard Sora mutter under his breath. Pinkie Pie began hopping around, answering AJ’s question. “You bet something up. These super scary monsters just appeared all over town. They look like that big monster thing we fought earlier today but they were much smaller and no matter how many we destroyed they just kept coming back. But then Sonic came back to help us and that helped a little but then Sora appeared and saved us just in time with his key sword. And now we need to find all the elements of harmony and then get to the source of the problem.” Pinkie stopped, somehow managing to say all that without taking a single breath. “AppleJack, is Fluttershy still with you?” Twilight asked hopeful. “Why yes she is.” AppleJack reassured her. “Fluttershy is inside Helpin’ out granny Smith.” “I’ll go get her.” Tails offered and then ran towered the house without a response. Twilight looked at Sonic, happy that he was still here, but the look of defeat on his face worried her. “Sonic, are you okay?” She asked. “You’ve been like this ever since the battle at Sugar Cube Corner.” “ I've figured it all out, I think.” Sonic said flatly. “Figured what out, darling?” Rarity asked. “The attack, the strange Egg-bots. It all clicked when I saw Sora.” He pointed his finger to Sora. Sora was surprised. “Me?” he asked. “What do I have to do with anything?” “Let start from the beginning.” He said. He waited a moment as Tails and Fluttershy, the Yellow Pegasus, rejoined the group. “Last time Sora was here he said that they wouldn't return unless something really bad happens. Well something really bad must have happened.” Sonic frowned. “Eggman!” Tails exclaimed. “Eggman, who in the Hoof is that?” Twilight asked. “We told you about him, remember?” Sonic answered. “You mean that big old meanie face that keeps trying to do bad stuff in your world?” Pinkie piped up. “Yes him. Those thing we fought were his Egg-bots.” Sonic continued. “I thought they were Heartless.” Sora interrupted. Sonic nodded to Sora. “They are. They’re like Heartless Egg-bots. At first I thought that it was just an attack from Eggman but when I saw you I knew that they couldn't be just robots.” Sonic explained. “You said it, yourself that you would return if the Heartless ever did. I put two and two together and that math adds up to something really bad.” “But how did Eggman get here?” Tails wondered. “That’s what I can’t figure out.” Sonic admitted. “Perhaps I can shed some light on your little…Mystery.” A voice said, coming from nowhere. Twilight knew that voice. She thought that she would never have to hear that voice again. A bright light flashed and the figure of evil itself appeared from within it. The Pony head, the dragon, snake like body, and the various other mish-mash of animal body parts stood there in suspended in the air. “Hello everypony, it is so “good” to see all of you again.” it greeted with fake Kindness in its voice. “Who are you?” Sora asked summoning his Keyblade and getting ready to attack if need be. “Who am I? I am the controller of Chaos, the bringer of unbalance, the very image of disharmony. I am Discord.” Discord smiled maliciously. “And I’m here to give you your first quest.” “Quest, Sonic what does he mean?” Tails asked Sonic. Discord answered before Sonic could say anything. “It means just that, my little fox friend.” He turned to face Twilight. “And Twilight, please Close your mouth, you never know what could “Fly” in to it.” Twilight hadn't noticed that her shocked face included a dropped mouth. She tried to close it, but before she could a Pineapple with wings appeared and flew into Twilight open mouth. She spat it out Coughing and sputtering. Discord gave a small chuckle. “Now, like I was saying,” Discord went on. “Your “quest”. All you need to do is find your precious Chaos Emeralds.” Part VII Who was this guy? Why does he look so weird? What has he done with the Chaos Emeralds? Question like these and many more flew through Sonic’s mind. The whole situation seemed a bit overwhelming but Sonic stood firm. “What have you done with the Chaos Emeralds?” Sonic finally asked. Discord glared down at him wonder and scrutiny in his gaze. The way Discord stared at him, as if staring into his very being, was creeping Sonic out. “Me?” Discord asked sarcastically. “Why, I haven’t done anything to them. All I want from you is to gather them. That’s all.” Discord put on a face pout. Sonic rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “And why would we do that?” Tails asked. Discord frowned down at Tails. “If you don’t then not only will I set the Heartless to tear apart this world, but I will set them to destroy your world as well. That’s why.” The Fire in Discord’s eyes meant that he wasn't joking. “You would just let the Heartless destroy you’re world?” Sora gasped in horror. “I can always build a new one, or just take over an already existing world.” Discord waved Sora’s question off. Discord’s hand glowed a mucky black and he waved it a little in the air. Suddenly the Heartless creatures, Sonic saw last time he was here, appeared around Discord, creating a barrier. “Heartless!” Twilight yelled. “Those are the ones from last time.” They were indeed similar to the ones they fought during the last encounter with them. The Heartless seemed to consist of: giant, almost cute, flies; several small humanoid robed Heartless, riding on large floating books; large lion like beasts with dangerous looking Tails; small pink blobs with large eyes and mouth, stubby legs and a stripped sleeping cap; sacks that seemed to be alive themselves; and very big light blue Titans with large wood clubs. These were creatures of night mares themselves. Discord put his hand up to Stop Sora who looked like he was ready to attack. “Now, Now,” Discord reassured. “There is no need for violence, I promise, in this game I will not send my Heartless after you.” “What’s the catch?” Rainbow flew up right into Discords face. “No catch.” He said calmly. Rainbow kept her eyes on Discord in a angry stare as she floated back to the group. When Dash landed back near her friends, Discord piped up again. “Oh that’s right. I won’t send Heartless after you, but that’s not to say my “associate” will.” Dash got angry all over again. “Why you dirty no good—LET ME AT HIM, LET ME AT HIM!” She cried as she struggle away from AppleJack who grabbed her tail before she flew off to pummel Discord. “Simmer down there, Sally.” AppleJack said through her teeth. Rainbow glared at AppleJack then sat back down. AppleJack put her hoof on Rainbow’s shoulder just in-case she tried to fly away once she was free. “Wait, who is your “associate?” Twilight asked in confusion. What Discord said next confirmed all of Sonic’s suspicions “Why Don’t you ask you dear friends Sonic and Tails. He has had personal experience with after all.” “Eggman! I knew it.” Sonic blurted out. Discord grinned. “GOOD LUCK, EVERYONE!” he shouted then he and the Heartless disappeared in flash of light. “Sonic, what are we gonna do?” Tails asked, very worried. “The only thing we can.” Sonic answered. “We have to find the Chaos Emeralds.” “But where do we start looking?” Sora asked. “I have a gem finding spell.” Rarity offered. “And I know Twilight can duplicate it.” “Are ya suggestin’ we split up and look for them?” AppleJack asked. “It may be our best bet.” Twilight said. “But even with two teams, we might not make it.” “My Keyblade can guide me to where the Emeralds are.” Sora put in. Tails got a hopeful look on his face. “If we split up in to teams of three, we can each look for two Emeralds.” Tails said. “Plus the one we already have. We might just make it in time to save Equestria!” Twilight cheered. “And Mobius!” Sonic added. After a few minutes of discussion, the teams were set. Team one had Sora, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie. Team two had Sonic, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash. The final team had Twilight, AppleJack, and Tails. Pinkie was once again bouncing around. “This is going to be super awesome. I can’t wait to go. Are we going yet? Do we get a bathroom break?” Her nonstop rambling was actually making Sora laugh hysterically. “I wonder if we will run into any of those Heartless monsters, I hope so. I’m ready to kick some butt. OOOooo, I wonder how this Story is going to end? I sure hope he gets it done on time.” {The author cringes as Pinkie starts to break the 4th wall} “Oops, Sorry I was told not to do that, at least not in this form of media.” Sonic was now completely confused at what Pinkie had just said, but all the other Ponies didn't seem surprised in the least, and Sora was too busy laughing to notice. “…Never mind. Next order of business: Team names.” “Why do we need team names?” Twilight asked. “It’s a lot more fun.” Tails answered her. “We’ll be called Speed of Magic.” Dash piped up. “Get it? Because we are both super-fast and we have the best gem hunter in all of Equestria.” Sonic nodded. It was a cool name but Sonic wished that Rouge was here. A treasure hunt between two self-proclaimed “best Treasure hunters of…” would be an interesting competition. Sonic was snapped out of his thoughts when Sora spoke up. “Hey, Fluttershy, right? why don’t you pick our team name?” Sora asked the timid yellow Pegasus, who had stayed quite this whole time. “Um…okay.” Fluttershy agreed her voice barley a whisper. She stayed quite for a moment in thought, “How about the Hearts of Laughter?” She asked. She then recoiled. “I mean if you want to, if you don’t like it you can change it.” “That’s a great name, why wouldn't I like it?” Sora asked. Finally it was Twilight’s groups turn to choose a name. She thought about it for a minute. “How about…” “The egg heads?” Rainbow finished. “What? NO!” Twilight tuned on Dash. “I know, how about Honest Magic?” she asked AppleJack and Tails. “I like it.” Tails confirmed. “It’s mighty kind of ya, tuh name this here group after my Element, Twi.” AppleJack blushed. She tipped her hat with her hoof. Now with the teams set and names taken care of it was time to find the Emeralds. Sonic smiled, knowing that they could make it in time and beat Eggman and this Discord guy. “Alight everyone lets show those creeps what teamwork can really do.” Sonic and Tails put their hands the middle of the group. The others stacked there hooves on top of Sonic’s and Tails’s. “LET’S DO IT, TO IT!” PART VIII TEAM: HEARTS OF LAUGHTER. “How are we going to find the Chaos Emeralds?” Pinkie asked. “You’re not a Unicorn. You’re just an earth pony. Well not just any earth pony, you can make that super key-sword thing appear out of thin air.” Pinkie was right; he didn't know how he was going to find the Emeralds. He thought for a moment then an idea formed in his head. He summoned his Keyblade, placing it on the ground in front of him. He placed his hoof on the Keyblade and shut his eyes tightly. He focused his thoughts on reaching out to the power of the Keyblade. A blurry image started fading in to his vision. The scene got clearer and clearer until he could see perfectly; Two Chaos Emeralds where in the hoof of a statue, but the statue seemed…off. The vision faded out of his sight and he opened his eyes. He saw that both Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were staring at him in silence. Fluttershy was the first to speak. “So, um, were do we go?” She squeaked out. “I saw the Emerald in a vision.” Sora responded. “It’s in the hoof of a statue it looked like that the statue was in some sort of park.” “I know were that is, I've seen that statue a whole bunch of times.” Pinkie blurted out. “I think that the statue you saw was the statue of Christhoofer Columbia. I'v Seen it a bunch of times, lots of little foals like to play on it. It’s also by a very beautiful garden, planted by Roseluck. She is very good at planting flower—.” Sora put his hoof up to stop the Pink Pony from going into some random story that would most likely not make any since. Sora tuned to Fluttershy. “Do you know were it is?” he asked her. Fluttershy, who looked like she was trying to hind behind her incredibly long pink mane, looked at Sora for a moment. “Yes. But, it’s just…we would need to go back into Ponyville, where those monsters are.” She said softly, giving a worried side glance to the direction of the town. Sora looked in the direction of the town and saw its sky line. From here the town looked peaceful but he knew the destruction that lay inside. “We have to do this.” He said to the two other ponies. Pinkie nodded her head. “Your right, we need to do this.” She stretched her hoof in the air. “FOR EQUESTRIA!” She shouted and then began to make her way back to the town. Sora and Fluttershy fallowed behind Pinkie, Fluttershy looked uneasy about going, though. The short hike back to Ponyville was uneventful; it was when they got back into the town that things took a turn for the strange. The Town was in ruin, Heartless egg-bots patrolled the streets. Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Sora hid in a bush, the whole town looked abandoned. “We need to get in to the park.” Sora whispered to the other two. “Where is it?” Pinkie stuck her hoof out of the bush to point. “That way.” She answered. “Let’s make a run for it.” Sora said, deciding that that was the best plan. “Stay behind me, and be on the look out.” “Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Fluttershy asked. Fluttershy’s eyes then got a shocked expression on them. “I’m sorry; your plan is a good one, never mind.” Sora looked at the yellow Pegasus. “Don’t be Sorry. You’re my friend, you have a right to question my plan if you want, I don’t mind.” Fluttershy looked down at her hooves and lightly kicked the dirt. “We could just make a distraction.” She finally said, but looking like she wished she hadn't. “That’s actually a good idea.” Sora told her. He turned to Pinkie Pie. “Do you mind making a distraction?” he asked the pink pony. Pinkies smile got big…well, bigger than her normal smile. “Distraction is my middle name: “Pinkie Distraction Pie” at your service.” She giggled. Before Sora could even say anything back, she was gone. “Okay, on my mark, we dash to the park, okay?” Sora asked Fluttershy. Fluttershy timidly nodded. A few moments pasted until the silence was broken by a loud Boom. Sora looked out from his hiding spot. He saw Pinkie Pie with a large light blue canon shooting it out at the Heartless, making them fall over and disappear. The other Heartless Egg-bots ran to see what caused the disturbance. This was his chance. “GO!” he commanded Fluttershy, and the two sprinted toward the park. Sora was in the lead closely followed by Fluttershy. Sora could see the entrance to the park and the statue he saw from his Keyblade vision. As Sora and Fluttershy approached the park, Heartless Egg-bots appeared out of thin air, blocking the entrance. Sora heard Fluttershy give a small “EEP!” Sora got his Keyblade ready but just as he got close, Pinkie Pie fell from the sky, hitting the Heartless in the face with Pie on her way down. The Heartless ran around in confusion until they ran into each other, fell down and disappeared. The whole scene was quite comical and Sora couldn't help but laugh. “Thanks Pinkie, but where did you come from?” Sora asked when he stopped laughing. Pinkie put on large grin. “Sora, did your parents never give you the “Special” talk?” Pinkie asked. Sora blushed and turned toward the direction of the statue. “Never mind. Come on lets go get that Emerald.” He said as he walked to the statue of the Pony in an old captain’s hat. “Look at that,” Pinkie exclaimed, “Two Emeralds.” Sora saw a red and a yellow gem in the hoof of the statue, but just like in the vision the statue seemed not like a statue. “I’ll get it.” Fluttershy offered, flying up to grab the Emeralds. Just as she was about to pick the Emeralds up the statue turned a deep black and began to morph. Sora watched as the statue grew in size. “It’s a Heartless, watch out.” He said to Fluttershy who had already turned away in fright. The statue turned into the shape of a large dragon and as the blackness faded, that is what indeed the statue had morphed into. Sora summoned his Keyblade about to attack when he heard Fluttershy yell out, “WAIT!” Sora stopped and watched as Fluttershy slowly flew up to the dragon Heartless. “Fluttershy, what are you doing? Get away from there, it’s not safe.” Sora warned the Pegasus. “I know what I’m doing.” She reassured Sora. Sora nodded and stepped back, having faith in Fluttershy. She was now floating in front of the beast speaking in a soft voice. “Now, now, No need to get all angry.” She reassured the Heartless. “We aren't going to hurt you; we just need those Emeralds you took from us, please.” The Heartless glared at Fluttershy but instead of running away, to Sora’s amazement, Fluttershy glared right back. This seemed to shock the Heartless a bit but it stood its ground. Sora was certain that the Heartless was going to attack Fluttershy any second but before the Heartless would have had time to, Fluttershy opened her Eyes wide in a frown and her eyes grew big. The Heartless faltered backwards and with a WALF noise disintegrated into the air. Sora was Speechless, he had never seen anyone stair a Heartless to death. Fluttershy gently flew back to Sora and Pinkie, whose mouth was open so far Sora was sure his jaw was just grazing the ground. She handed the Emeralds to Sora. “Two down four to go. Now let’s go meet the others” TEAM: SPEED OF MAGIC The rolling green hills of the moorlands reminded Sonic so much of the green moorlands back on Mobius and It felt good to feel the soft grass as he raced by. She stopped at the top of a hill looking back to where Rarity and Rainbow were. He had asked if he could run ahead to make sure there were no Heartless which indeed there wasn't. Sonic looked down at the Chaos Emerald in his hand. It was glowing still which meant they were getting close but they still need to go a bit further. “Once the Emerald stops glowing then we will know that we are literally right on top of it.” He had explained to Rainbow Dash and Rarity before they headed away from AppleJack's farm. Sonic turned to face away from the two Ponies, to make sure there weren't any Heartless up ahead. In front of him the grass gave wait to soft dirt. “The Emerald has to be somewhere near here.” Sonic thought. He scanned the Dirt clearing but saw nothing. A little while later Rainbow Dash and Rarity had finally made their way to Sonic. “Thank you ever so much for waiting for us, darling.” Rarity Thanked Sonic when she walked up to him. Sonic blushed and tuned away. Rainbow Dash, who was hovering in the air, landed next to Sonic. “Are we close?” She asked. “Did your Emerald Stop glowing?” She cocked her head to look at the Emerald in Sonic hand. “The Emerald hasn't stopped yet, but I have a feeling we’re getting close.” Sonic Answered. And with that the three walked into the clearing. “Despite everything that has trance spired within the last hour, I would just like to say that it is a lovely day.” Rarity commented after a while of walking. Sonic thought back and couldn't believe it, Had It really only been an hour since the attack on Ponyville? Sure enough, it had really only been an hour and yet so much happened. The attack on Ponyville, saving his friends at Sugar Cube Corner, Sora, Discord, and now the hunt for the Emerald had all somehow been crammed into one hour. Sonic looked down at the Emerald and was surprised to see it had stopped glowing. “Rarity, looks like the Emerald has stopped glowing. Can you use you spell to find them?” Sonic asked the white Unicorn. “I think so.” She responded. “Try and focus on the power of the Emeralds” Sonic encouraged. Rarity nodded and her horn began to glow, a soft light blue. “This way” she commanded, leading the way to a pile of boulders in the distance. “It’s not my fault that pretty rocks starts glowing.” Sonic heard a gravelly voice cry out as they approached the rock pile. The group quickened there pace to see what the commotion was. Sonic rounded one of the boulders to find a group of three upright walking…Dogs? One, who looked like the leader, was tall and gray. He was wearing a red vest Jacket and a collar, with a single yellow stone, hanging from his neck. The second was short and tan with a gray vest Jacket with a thick collar around his neck decked out in small whit gems. That last was buff, blue gray, and was also wearing the same gray Jacket and thick collar. He saw that the short one was holding the two Chaos Emeralds. Sonic was about to get their attention when Rarity Spoke up instead. “Well hello there, Darlings. It has been sometime since I have seen you three.” The three Dogs turned to face the newcomers, but when they spotted Rarity they shrank back in fear. “Who are these guys?” Sonic whispered to Dash. “They’re just some punks who forced Rarity to find jewels for them once. They're called Diamond Dogs.” She whispered back. “Miss Rarity, it is so…um, Good to see you?” The Diamond Dog leader greeted with fear. “What have you got there?” Rarity sweetly asked the short Dog. He held out his hand to show Rarity, shielding his face with his other arm. “It’s just some precious we found fall from the sky. It Sparkles pretty, Miss Rarity.” “Sonic, are these those Emeralds you were talking about?” Rarity asked, stepping aside to let Sonic get a closer look. Sonic looked down at the gems: One was green and the other was silver. “Yup, those are definitely the Emeralds.” Sonic confirmed. Rarity looked back at the leader of the group of Dogs. “Would you please let us have these gems?” she asked the tall leader. The leader frowned slightly. “Why should we give precious to you?” he asked, slight anger in his voice. Rarity put on a pout. “Because if you don’t then that would be just HORRIBLE!” she screeched out. “WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE SO MEAN? THESE WERE ARES FIRST! GIVE THEM BACK!” she complained. The Diamond Dogs were cringing now, covering their ears to try and block out the complaints. “OKAY, OKAY. JUST SHUT-UP PONY.” The leader yelled over Rarity. Rarity stopped and smiled. “Thank you ever so much.” Rarity said as she used her magic to levitate the Emeralds over to Sonic. Sonic grabbed the Emeralds and stared at them. “I hope the others find the rest.” Sonic thought as the group turned around and walked back to AppleJack's farm. TEAM: HONEST MAGIC When Twilight used her magic to search for the Emerald, it led her team near the base of the mountain, which Twilight remembered was the sleeping place of a dragon whose smoke snoring threatened to clog the skies of Equestria. It was only by the bravery of Fluttershy that the Dragon went to find a safer place to nap. Twilight looked up the mountain, luckily she could sense that the Emeralds were only near the mountain not on it. “How are we gonna’ fine’ these here gems?” AppleJack asked Tails when the group finally stopped to take a break. “They are much larger and more defined to be random gems. Trust me, you will know when you see it.” Tails answered. AppleJack seemed contain on that answer and ambled about, peeking under bushes and around trees. Twilight eased off the spell to give herself a break from the strange power she felt when she reached out to the Emeralds. She sighed and looked up at the sky. Something caught her attention: it looked like something was shining in the sky, but just as quick as she saw it, whet ever it was had disappeared. “Great, now I’m seeing things.” She thought to herself. “I have a feeling we are really close.” Tails announced as he motioned her and AppleJack to continue on. Twilight reactivated her spell and followed where she felt her magic was taking her. “I think your right.” Twilight said as she walked. “The feeling is getting stronger. I think we’re right on top of them.” She turned off the path and into the tall thick grass. Twilight stopped when she heard an “Ouch, what in tarnation?” come from AppleJack. “What’s wrong?” Twilight asked when she turned to her friend. “, somepony left their fancy-shmancy Diamond in th’ tall grass here.” AppleJack responded. She lifted up what she stepped on, it was a large dark blue Gem. “An’ looky here, another one.” She bent down to pick something else up, another identical gem but was Purple instead. Tails’ eyes grew wide. “Those are the Chaos Emeralds!” he exclaimed. “We found them! We did it!” “Congratulations, you have found all the Emeralds.” The voice of Discord rang in the air. There was a flash of light and Twilight’s surroundings tuned from the pre-mountain trail to AppleJack's farm. TEAM: ALL She looked around and saw that everyone was back, confused as well about the sudden transportation. Discord was in front of the whole group. “Well, well. It looks like you have finished the first quest.” Discord congratulated sarcastically. “I thought you said you didn't know where the Emeralds were.” Twilight asked, confused and annoyed. Discord grinned. “I never said I didn't know where they where, I just needed a distraction to keep you all busy.” He told them. “Now on to your second “quest” of the day.” “Second? I thought all we had ta do was get th’ gems fer ya.” AppleJack questioned. “I never said that either, I specifically said “first” quest.” He Answered the Orange pony. “Fine, what is it?” Sonic asked impatiently. Discord put on an evil grin. “It’s rather simple really,” he began. “All you have to do is…” “Surrender the Chaos Emeralds over to me and then do the same for your selves.” A deep gruff voice finished discords sentience. Twilight saw a Sparkle in the sky, just like the one from earlier, only much bigger. A small flying metal thing appeared in the sky. A Rather large red stallion, with small round sunglasses, was inside it. He had a bald head, and a large red-brown mustache and tail. Twilight guessed he must be the one driving it. “Doctor Eggman!” Sonic exclaimed. “So, you finally decided to show you’re self.” “Oh Sonic, how long this day, without you, has felt.” Eggman greeted. “Still ugly as ever I see. Even as a pony.” Sonic taunted. Twilight gasped. “Sonic, that’s rude.” She scolded Sonic. Sonic shrugged it off. “What’s you plan Eggman?” Sonic turned his attention back to the new pony. He smiled maliciously. “Simply this.” He said then looked at Discord, “would you like to do the honors?” “I would be delighted” Discord answered. He threw his hands in the air and thousands and thousands of Heartless and Heartless Egg-bots appeared, then everything began to fade around the whole group until everything was dark. Part IX The darkness began to fade as some sort of reality began to take shape around Sonic and the group. Eggman and Discord had vanished. The sky was a deep icky red-orange color, and large chunks of land floated infinitely everywhere. Strangest of all, Sonic felt that all the known laws of physics had been completely twisted and shattered as space bent reality in a chaotic manner. “Welcome to what will soon be known as Discordia, home of the Eggman Empire.” The Voice of Discord rang out from everywhere. Sonic looked up, or was it down, or possible he was looking to the side? There was no real way to tell. Sonic looked, in his perspective, up and saw a much larger and more round chunk of land and metal floating overhead. “Do you like my new Death-egg, Sonic?” Sonic heard Eggman’s voice ask over a loud speaker. “It’s now the Dark-egg.” He informed. A large metal arm extended out from the huge chunk of land and grabbed AppleJack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie. “I will be taking your friends now.” Eggman said as the arm retracted back in to the flying fortress. Sonic growled in anger as he heard the screams of his friend disappear. Another arm came at Sonic and the rest, but Sonic was ready he grabbed Twilight, and Sora then ran as fast as he could away, Rainbow Dash doing the same with Tails. “ We've got to hide!” Dash called to Sonic as they sped away. Sonic looked for some cover and saw a small cave in the distance. “Over there.” He shouted. Once the rest of the group was safe in the cave Sonic finally asked the question that had been on his mind since he got here. “Where are we?” “I would say some sort of void between realities.” Tails answered. “We’re in space.” Sora corrected flatly. Sonic was puzzled, he had been in space many times before and it had never looked like this. “That’s not possible.” He told Sora. “ I've been in space, it looks nothing like this.” “That’s because the space you see is still just part of your world.” Sora informed. “And this is the ruins of a world that must have been destroyed by the Heartless.” “So this Eggman guy or whatever is building a new world from Pieces of old worlds?” Dash asked confused. Sonic scowled. “No. He said that this Discordia place was also called the Dark-egg.” Sonic paused to think. He snapped his fingers when he figured it out. “he’s making a fortress.” “But why would he do that?” Tails asked. “Why make one so big?” Sora was the one to answer Tails. “To take over other worlds.” “Hello?” Twilight piped up. “What about Equestria, guys?” “Ya, what happened to Equestria?” Dash asked. “The Heartless are probably attacking it right now as we speak.” Sora answered. “But if we beat Eggman then perhaps the Heartless and Heartless Egg-bot will disappear.” Tails guessed. Sonic put on his game face. “Then let’s stop him and that Discord guy.” He declared. “But how?” Sora asked. “With these.” Sonic pulled out the seven Chaos Emeralds. “Old baldy Mc. Nose-hairs forgot to take these.” “How will they help?” Sora asked. Sonic had already begun to place the Emeralds around himself. “The Emeralds power isn't limited to just manipulating power, It can also be absorbed.” Sonic explained. “How?” Twilight asked. Sonic said nothing but instead just closed his eyes and focused, he started saying the Emerald’s poem. “The servers are the seven Chaos. Chaos is Power. Power, enriched by the heart. The controller is the one that unifies the Chaos.” He said. “Chaos Emeralds, please, SAVE US!” Sonic yelled as he felt pure Chaos power coerce through him. Anger, greed, sadness, lust, pride, and Darkness all consumed his brain but then was washed away and replaced by happiness, joy, knowledge, gratitude, humility, and Light. Sonic opened his eyes to see that he was now floating above the ground, his fur now gold and his spikes, spiked up. “Sonic, are you Okay?” he heard dash ask. He nodded his head. “Yes I am.” He responded. “It’s time to stop that madman.” Sonic turned to fly away when he was stopped by someone grabbing his hand. He turned to see Sora, his hoof grabbing on to his wrist. “Wait,” Sora said. “Take this.” He summoned his Keyblade and set it on the ground. “Your—Your Keyblade?” Sonic asked dumbfounded. “Yes, with your power and strength of heart, it should work for you.” Sora told him. When Sonic reached down to pick it up it began to change in his hand. The handle and shaft of the weapon turned to a complex and beautiful crisscross pattern, while the end changed to a crown. “The Ultimate Weapon.” Sora said under his breath. With that Sonic flew out of the cave at high speeds towered the huge flying fortress, ready for the final fight. Part X “Eggman!” Sonic yelled as loud as he could at the large chunk of land and machine. Eggman’s voice came on over the loud speaker. “Sonic, it is so good of you to finally join us. But sadly you will not be fighting me.” “What do you mean?” Sonic yelled back, glaring and summoning his new weapon. A hatch opened up and Discord was standing in the open door way. “Just watch and see, you stupid filthy Rat.” Discord insulted Sonic. Darkness surrounded Discord and engulfed him, his silhouette the only clue that something was there. The silhouette grew and morphed, until it was easily much larger than even the Dark-egg. Sonic stared in horror and anger. “MWAHAHAHAHA!” The large beast that had once been Discord laughed. Discord was now a large dark red bipedal Dragon-like creature with spiked crystal wings and bone arms. “I am no longer just the God of Chaos; I am now the Creator of Darkness itself.” He Declared. In the back of Sonic’s mind, he was thinking that it was all over, but he pushed those thoughts away, knowing that he could pull through. “Sonic, can you hear me?” Sonic heard the voice of Tails in his head. “I have used some of Twilight's magic so we can speak to you. Listen, Discord has technically turned in to a Heartless, use the Keyblade and blast away the Darkness.” “Roger that good buddy.” Sonic said, then gave a two fingered salute and flew off towered Discord. Discord must have noticed Sonic flying toward him because he flapped out his wings and large spiked chunks of crystal flew, at high speed, toward Sonic. Sonic did a Quick spinning dodge around them all. Just as the last of the projectiles were passing Sonic summoned power and released a small burst that deflected the crystals back at Perfect Discord. Discord was momentarily stunned, this was Sonic’s chance to attack, he boosted to a large pulsing blob on the shoulder of Discord. “This ought to do the trick.” Sonic said as he powered up a supper fast spin-dash, holding the Keyblade out to whack the blob of Darkness repeatedly. After a moment of that the Blob burst in to light and disappeared, it reappeared just behind Discords Left leg. Before Sonic could boost toward it, Discord threw Sonic away. Sonic was slightly dazed but did not lose his stride. “Sonic that did the Trick keep hitting that blob of darkness, and release the light trapped inside.” Sonic heard Twilight’s Voice in his head. Sonic nodded and dashed to Discord again. This time however Discord summoned large orbs of Darkness around Sonic to attack. “Watch out, those things will home in on you, deflect them away at the right time” Sora informed Sonic. Sonic nodded and watched the orbs, deflecting them away at the right time, the orbs were deflected right at Discord's Eyes. Discord Doubled Over In pain putting his hands up to his eyes. Sonic once again took this time of distraction to go in and attack. He flew behind Discord to the blob on his leg, and repeated the process as before, again the blob popped in a burst of light. It reappeared, really large, on Discord back. Yet again before Sonic could react he was knocked backwards by discord. “I don’t think I can Get him anymore he's too powerful.” Sonic informed out loud, convinced that his friends could hear him. “If only we had more Power.” Tails said. “Maybe we do?” Twilight’s voice responded to Tails. “What do you mean?” Sonic asked. “The Elements of Harmony.” Dash exclaimed. “You can use one big blast to stop discord once and for all.” Twilight told him. Sonic scratched his head and shrugged. “How do I do that?” he asked. Before he got an answer Sonic had to dash out of the way of a large laser attack that discord fired. “You really are a bothersome pest.” Discord complained. Sonic rolled his eyes. “Use the Power in your heart, Sonic.” Sonic heard Sora Command. “With it you could summon the Power of those Elements.” Sonic took a deep breath and closed his eyes, focusing on all the light in his life: His friends: Tails, Amy, knuckles, and even Shadow; His life: The friends he had, the adventures he went on, and the things he has learned; his new friends: Sora, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, AppleJack, Pinkie Pie, and even the Doctor, Amy, and Rory. A fuzzy warm feeling spread throughout his whole body, and six points of lights orbited around Sonic. As the lights dimmed he saw that they looked quite familiar. One was the shape of a butterfly, an apple, a lightning bolt, a balloon, a diamond, and a Six point Star. Sonic opened his arms out to the side ready to absorb the power, when one last point of light appeared above Sonic’s head. Sonic looked up at the new light and as it dimmed he saw it was the shape of a simple ring. “Wow!” Twilight exclaimed. Your power of Faith has temporarily created a new Element, but what is it?” Sonic knew what it was it was just that: Faith, The one thing that keeps Sonic going in life, Faith in his friends and in himself. All the other elements absorbed in to the single element in front of Sonic, magic. Sonic absorbed the element and then turned to face discord. Discord just clapped slowly *clap, clap, clap* "that was a wonderful performance.” Discord lied. “It’s too bad you won’t live to do an encore." Sonic opened his eyes and looked at Discord. Without saying a word he lifted up the Keyblade and pointed it at Discord. “Ooo…what are you going to do? Poke me with that?” Discord mocked. A ring of Light appeared at the tip of the Keyblade, and Sonic focused on the Target then ever so gently he released the power and a bolt of Rainbow flew out of the Keyblade and Hit Discord Square in the chest. Discord started to flail in panic his body de-shaping and his power draining and in time, Discord was lying unconscious on the ground, his regular size once again. Sonic turned to the Dark-egg. “Don’t think I have Forgotten about you.” Sonic shouted. He used Chaos control to warp in to the command cockpit were Eggman was. Eggman was worried and was cowering in fear. “Please, Sonic, Don’t kill me!” he begged. “Why would I do a thing like that?” Sonic asked, “That not how I roll.” Eggman was still on the floor covering his pony head with his hooves. Sonic laughed a little at the sight. “What are you going to do to me?” Eggman asked looking up at Sonic. Without saying a word, Sonic lightly tapped Eggman forehead, when Sonic lifted his hand a cloud of Darkness drained from Eggman and he started began to morph into his old bipedal human self. “I’m saving your life.” Sonic finally spoke. Tail’s voice once again spoke in Sonic’s head. “Sonic the whole battle ship is about to break apart, you need to get out of there.” Sonic kept calm and once again used Chaos Control this time warping him and Eggman to were Fluttershy, Rarity, AppleJack, and Pinkie Pie, Were being held captive, and warped every one out of the base and to safety far away. Sonic had turned back to his old non-super form when Sora, Tails, Twilight, And Rainbow Dash rushed out to greet and congratulate him. Sonic had noticed that Sora had his Keyblade back. “Are they going to be okay?” Dash asked indicating the four ponies lying on the ground. Twilight bent her head down and her horn glowed. She straitened back up a second later. “They’ll be okay, they’re just out cold. Twilight reassured the group. “How do we get out of here?” Sonic suddenly asked, not knowing how to get back. “Let me handle this.” Sora Smiled, then gripping the Keyblade in his mouth he pointed it to the sky. A small keyhole shape glowed in the sky just above and in front of everyone. The tip of the Keyblade glowed just like it had for Super Sonic, but instead of a blast of Rainbow, the Keyblade just shot out a small white light that disappeared into the keyhole in the sky. There was a loud Clu-Chunk noise and the world began to melt away around Sonic. The colors all seemed to blur then change. Sonic rubbed his eyes and he and the others were back on AppleJack's farm. “We did it, we’re back.” Dash pointed out. Sonic saw Twilight look around. “What happened to all the Heartless Egg-bots?” She asked. “I took away the power Eggman used, that allowed him to control the Darkness.” Sonic Answered. “I guess that since he no longer has a tie to the Darkness, his Army and all the Egg-bots that he had Attacking Equestria just disappeared.” “And I would have taken over everything too, if it weren't for you accursed Hedgehog.” The, now human, Eggman grunted out. “But I guess until next time we meet this is good bye.” Eggman was lifted in to his small Airship and with a WARP, he vanished. “Were’d he go?” Twilight asked. Tails, who had been trying to tend to AppleJack and the other three unconscious ponies, turned around to address Twilight. “Back to our world most likely.” A few yards away the Body of Discord began to stir and get up. “You…cannot…ugh, stop me I—I am Chaos made—you know what forget it,” Discord grunted out between pants, obviously in pain, “, until next time Twilight Sparkle.” Discord turned to leave, but was Stopped by An angry Twilight. “Stop Discord, do you really think we’re just gonna let you leave?” She turned to Sora. “Sora, Do you happen to know any time Spells.” Sora smiled, knowing were Twilight was going with this. “You mean like this?” he tilted his head so as to point the Keyblade up. “Stopga!” He yelled and with that Discord froze to his spot. Twilight smiled, pleased. “Now let’s wake up the others. Discord is in for a rude awakening. Part XI Waking up AppleJack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity proved easier then Sonic thought it would, it just took a good splash of cold water and they woke right up. Throughout this whole endeavor to wake the four sleeping ponies up, Sora had maintained the stop spell on Discord. “Hurry up, please.” Sora pleaded starting to sweat. “Everypony know what to do?” Twilight asked. They nodded and took their places for the plan Twilight had come up with. “Run the Plan by me again.” Tails asked. “Simple when we unfreeze Discord, the Elements of harmony and Sonic will use the Chaos Emeralds to imprison Discord in stone once more.” Twilight Explained. “I much rather prefer our beautiful and stylish necklaces.” Rarity commented looking down at the Purple Emeralds she held. “They should work just as well as our Element charms do.” Twilight reassured her white unicorn friend. She turned to Sora. “Okay Sora, now.” Sora dropped his head and Discord began to move again. “What’s going on?” he asked looking at everyone in fright. “Chaos Control!” Twilight said. the six ponies and Sonic all held up their Emeralds and a band of light shot out of each Emerald and shower Discord in a beautiful rainbow light. He tried to shield it off, but with a goofy expression on his face and his Arms stuck in mid flail, Discord turned to stone and fell to the Ground with a THUD “Well I guess that takes care of that.” Tails grinned. “I guess so.” Twilight agreed. The damage to Ponyville was bad, but nothing that a little hard work wouldn't fix. Sonic had said good bye to everypony, and him, Tails, Twilight, and Sora, walked back to the library. “I guess this is good bye then.” Twilight sighed once they were inside. Now that Sonic and Tails had the Chaos Emeralds, there was no need to stick around any longer. “But you can come visit right?” she asked hopeful. Tails shook his head sadly. “I’m afraid we can’t, once we leave, the link between our worlds will break and the personal Time stream to our worlds will flow normally again.” Tails explained, downhearted. “We will never see each other again.” Twilight’s face scrunched up and she covered her eyes with her hooves. “But—but it’s not fair, how can we be friends if we never see each other again?” she bawled. Sora put his hoof on Twilight’s shoulder. “Hey, c’mon cheer up.” Twilight looked up at Sora. “Just because your far apart doesn't mean you still aren't friends. As long as you keep them in your heart, then they aren't really ever gone.” Twilight wiped the tears from her eyes. “I guess you right.” She said sounding happier already. “Goodbye Twilight Sparkle, we will never forget you.” Sonic said as he began to activate the Emeralds power. He gave a thumb up. “Thanks for all the adventures and to all the adventures yet to come.” Sonic saw Sora’s Keyblade appeared in Sora’s mouth and he aimed it between Himself and Tails who were now floating off the ground. A white light wrapped around him and once again all he could sense was white. Sonic felt ground beneath him once again and the familiar lab of Tails came into focus. He looked over at Tails who also rubbed his eyes to get them focused again. “We’re—we’re back.” Sonic quietly said. “My lab, it’s in ruins!” Tails cried as he looked at the mess, that the explosion had caused. “Well, I guess we better get started on cleaning up.” Sonic tried to say cheerfully. He picked out a broom from the supplies closet and began to sweep up the mess. THE END! > Epilogues > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mobius Tails entry #234 The Equestrian File: the most recent Adventure I went on with Sonic involved the Chaos Emeralds taking us to a whole new world. Sonic once again was able to save everyone. But this got me thinking “how much does this world differ from the one we landed on. Although the link that the Emeralds made is gone, that didn’t stop me from researching the most I could about that world. I was able to get my hands on one of the Chaos Emeralds to start my research. The things I have found maybe small, but they do give me great hope: 1. The Emeralds do have the power to recreate the link, but unfortunately it’s a link that the Emeralds would have to make themselves. 2. The time difference between this world and Equestria, the world we were on, is actually only a difference of about 2 ½ minutes. This is great knew because if I were to find a way back to Equestria, the time Difference would go unnoticed. 3. If you look at my other notes, then you know that this last fact is same as all the others: although the Data Says that going back is Impossible, I have seen Sonic challenge and even do the Impossible. These conclude the current notes I have on this subject; I will continue my research and expand on this entry if, and when I find something new. This is Miles “Tails” Prower, sighning off for now. The Doctor’s Journal: Dear Journal, Today I have received a strange signal that the TARDIS fallowed. It landed me and my associates in a place called Equestria, a planet full of talking animals and a physics that could only be described as magic. The strangest part of it all was the transformation that we underwent. Because of the laws of this world, we morphed into Ponies…I’m not joking, Ponies, for real. It was strange predicament we were in, but lucky for us we met a nice yellow Pegasus, yes a Pegasus, and she led me to a very powerful purple Unicorn. By now you probably think I have gone off the deep end but this is all true. The source of the power that attracted the TARDIS was a rather strange gem; they called it a “Chaos Emerald”. It was not quite what I was expecting, but it was the source of the power. The owner of the Emerald was a blue Bipedal hedgehog and fox, and they were quite kind in letting me barrow the Emerald to repower and repair the TARDIS, as long as I help them back to their world. The charging would take at least 14 hours, so to occupy the time I bought a new fez while Amy and Rory attended a race the hedgehog and another Pegasus were having. It was cut short, however by an attack by a most remarkable Robot, but thanks to the brave efforts of the hedgehog, Pegasus, and Unicorn, and my brilliants of course, we stopped that vile robot. Sadly that was my cue to leave. Right as I was ready to leave, with the additional two passengers, they were called back. Something about an attack, but they insisted I leave, so now here I am. We are now back in our original human and Time lord forms. The rift that led me to that world has closed, and I can never go back. I can only hope they are alright. Hope, something they subtlety taught me while I was there. Perhaps not so Humany Wumany after all. JIMMY’S JOURNALE: EQUESTRIA: Sora’s self-discovery adventure has led him to Equestria, a land of horses. I won’t go into detail what happened right now but, he did help save that world from an Evil Draconequus named Discord. We are now off to find a new adventure, instead of waiting for one to find us. Something about something Sonic said. “Thanks for all the adventures and to all the adventures yet to come.” Sonic said. I believe Sora has learned a lesson in all this: An adventure is one you take with your friends. I do believe Sora will now enjoy what he can with the friends he makes. TWILIGHT’S LETTER: Dear princesses Celestia, Due to the recent “Events” Equestria has gone through, I think you already know what has happened. But I would like to share what I have learned from this experience. I have learned that: 1. An Impossible can be challenged; all you need is a strong heart and good friends. 2. Faith is something that can be easily lost, a good friend, however, can help you uplift this faith. 3. An adventure is anything you do with your friends and comes from anywere, even a blue box. 4. Finally, just because a friend is gone does not mean they are forgotten. The ties and links you have with a friend is what can connect your hearts to theirs. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. THE END.
