Nightmare Moon awoke to the sounds of birds chirping outside followed by a soft knock on the door. "My princess, are you awake?"
The Princess of the Night, ruler of Equestria for the past roughly 1000 years, stirred and yawned. "Yes, you may enter."
The door opened to reveal a woman dressed in a professional skirt and buttoned up dark blue blouse. Her hair was tied up into a bun and she had a clip board in her hands. Nightmare Moon regarded her favorite secretary and technically right hand woman with a nod. "Good evening Miss Rarity."
"Good Evening my Princess." Rarity held up her clip board. "We have an eventful day ahead of us. Shall we go over it now or over breakfast?"
The immortal princess yawned again and stretched. "I think a shower would be better. Have the trio of bathing servants prepare the royal shower."
Without batting an eye, Rarity gave a quick bow. "At once, my princess." She quickly turned and headed down the hallway. The sounds of her stern talking soon filling the hall followed by sounds of servants quickly waking up and getting to work.
The Moon Goddess got up and slowly removed herself from the star covered blue and purple bed. Her form soon coming into view as she stared over at a nearby mirror. With that, she turned and began making her way into the large hallway and down towards the sounds of music being played. A soft harp echoed from the royal bathroom and as Nightmare Moon turned to walk in, her mood only got better. Three very beautiful woman dressed in nothing but silk towels waited for her under the cascading waterfall that was her shower. The room was themed around ancient Equestria and gave her a feeling of warmth like no other. With stone walls and marble flooring to the stain glass window behind depicting her reign, it was always a sight she looked forward to every day. Rarity blinked. "I'm sorry, what was the last bit of dialogue, my Princess?"
NM grunted. "Nothing, please continue."
"You then have an appointment with your apprentice, she is ready to show her advancements in Moon Energy Technology."
Nightmare Moon let out a low chuckle. "Best protégée I've had in a few hundred years. Her hard work and dedication will bring us into a new era." She let out out a soft moan. "Little lower Aloe."
Rarity continued. "At high midnight, the Queen of the Changeling Kingdom will be visiting to discuss an alliance."
Nightmare Moon felt her heart quicken with excitement. "Yes, if the rumors are true, I look forward to seeing this Queen of Queens. Hopefully, those rumors about how she does alliances are true as well." Nightmare Moon licked her lips as her sexual apatite kicked in.
Rarity set her clip board down on a nearby table. "Considering we don't know how long negotiations will take, that frees up the rest of your day."

Rarity slipped out of her high-heels, unbuttoned the top of her blouse and walked forward. There was a small pool that surround her throne fed by a small waterfall the glimmered against the moonlight the lit up her room. Stain glass windows depicting her victories over the last millennia gave just enough light to set the mood while special candles lit with blue fire lit up whatever the moon could not. Walking over the small bit of pathway over the poll surrounding her throne, Nightmare Moon gracefully sat down, looking over at her secretary/adviser with keen interest.
She sat at her own private desk just off to the side. The desk was made of mahogany and was a rather lovely sight as it was fashioned from one of the best woodworkers of her time, kept in shape through special magic over the several hundred years used. Papers stacked neatly to one side was the only thing on there aside from a photo of her sister. Her feather pen worked its way across the page while she quickly finished up her work.
She sighed, NM noticing that her uniform looked a bit ruffled, most likely something left over from her little soirée earlier.
"My Princess, may I ask that I make myself a bit more comfortable? I'm afraid I seem to have had a bit of a misshape with this uniform."
Nightmare Moon raised an eyebrow in interest. "I approve. Please proceed."
Rarity got up and gave a thankful bow. Her hands quickly rose up and practically tore open her blouse, her cleavage becoming a bit more noticeable as she also took a pair of scissors from the desk, cut the side of the dress up to her thigh, cleaned up the tear a bit and then sat back down.

No sooner had the words left her mouth did the double doors to the throne room burst open. A young woman, her hair died purple with blue highlights hurried in. She had on a purple robe covered in stars, her baggy pants fluttering a bit as she speed walked into the room with a box underneath her arm. She also appeared to be wearing slippers.
She stopped once she neared the throne and bowed, clearly somewhat out of breath. "My princess! I hope I am not late!"
NM smiled. "Actually you are right on time as usual. Now take a deep breath and show me what you have been working on."
Twilight took a mouthful of air and did her best to calm her heart rate. "Ok... Let me start by saying this is only a prototype but should give you a decent grasp of what we can accomplish."
She set down the box and opened it, revealing a metal and glass container filled with cogs and wires. Attached to it was a mirror looking plate and a glass orb. Twilight levitated the plate, attached to a wire, over to the window. She made sure the orb was also hooked up before turning the device on. The plate soon glowed a translucent dark blue. There machine gave a low hum and soon the glass orb began to glow a soft white.
"It is pure energy taken from the moon's rays. It takes a bit of regular arcane magic to get it going but once it has the moon locked on power, it can use it to sustain itself. We can use it to power light or even create certain levels of heat. Though again its only a scratching surface. The possibilities are something even I am not fully capable of understanding. Though I am sure with time more better ways of containing the energy will become available. In fact I am working on a battery system that..." She paused to take a breath and realized she had been monologuing too much again. She took a deep breath and bowed. "Uh sorry, what do you think, my princess?"
Both Rarity and NM stared in awe.
Twilight rubbed the back of her head. "So... Is it to your liking?" Her gaze soon made its way back on the machine, unaware of the two currently unable to speak. She wondered if backing out of the room quietly would be best. Not realizing just how awe struck she had made everyone in the room. Even the harp player had to pause for a moment before remembering her job. As the sound of music filled the room again, NM managed to find her voice.
"Twilight... You have really outdone yourself this time."
The young apprentice visibly seemed to nearly faint. "Oh... Thankyou... Nightmare Moon. I was worried you wouldn't think much of it."
NM got up and quickly made her way over. "How could I? You have clearly created something that could very well be the next era of this kingdom."
Twilight blushed. "With someone as powerful as you, I figured you must have come up with something like this yourself."
NM seemed at a loss for words for a few seconds before grunting. "Power and knowledge can only get you so far. Young minds and good ideas are what drive a kingdom forward. My sis-er um... I learned that long ago."
Nightmare Moon glanced up at moon for a moment before turning back to Twilight. "I will have my top scientists begin work on this soon, right now, I have an alliance to prepare for."
Twilight smiled before growing serious. "One more thing princess, I was doing some research in the catacombs and found something I must go over with you."
Nightmare Moon placed a hand on Twilight's shoulder. "Save if for tomorrow night. I have a special treat in mind to reward you, my apprentice, for your efforts. We can talk about it more then."
Twilight felt her cheeks go red. "Oh... OH. Um... Right. I will see you then."
Twilight quickly gathered up her device and rushed out. NM let out a chuckle as the door closed behind her. "She really is something, isn't she?"
Rarity gave a short nod. "Indeed, her discoveries have been most helpful. Her magical prowess is something to behold as well."
NM slowly walked back and sat down. "Indeed. Its something I hope will lead to me unlocking something I thought lost to me long ago."
Rarity cocked her head slightly. "And what would that be?"
NM shook her head. "I will discuss it with you later. Right now, I must mentally prepare myself for Queen Chrysalis' arrival." NM glanced out the window and then back at Rarity. "How soon can we be expecting her?"
Rarity opened her mouth only for a scroll to suddenly materialize onto her desk. The young woman quickly snatched it up and read it. Her face fell. "It seems she is early. She will be coming through those doors any second."
"Well this day is full of surprises isn't it." NM muttered under her breath.
The double doors suddenly burst open as a very powerful presence entered the room. Queen Chrysalis. A woman supposedly several hundred years old yet looked as young and as vibrant as Nightmare Moon. She wore black stockings with holes cut into them while a black cape fluttered behind her. Leather boots completed the look as the black haired, green eyed woman confidently sauntered in.
Trailing just a few feet behind her was a young woman whom NM guess was her adviser. A black haired young woman with green piercing eyes that seemed to hold a bit of lust behind them. The two made their way over and stopped just before the pool surrounding NM. Chrysalis grinned and gave a short bow. Her adviser took a small step forward. "Presenting my Queen: Chrysalis. Leader of the Changeling Kingdom, Freer of the Badlands, Mother of the Changelings, The Ursa Minor Tamer, and The Bringer of the New Era."
Rarity calmly stood up and grunted. "Presenting Princess Nightmare Moon. Goddess of the Moon, Bringer of Night, The Freer of the Sun, The Dragon Tamer, The One Who Walks in Shadows, The Will of Nature, and Bringer of Several New Eras." Rarity made sure to put some emphases on certain names as she smiled and sat back down.
Chrysalis raised an eyebrow. "Now that pleasantries are out of the way. Lets get down to business."
Nightmare Moon grinned. "Straight to the point. I like that. What is it that you want?"
Chrysalis glanced around. "To be honest, trading with one of the largest and most profitable kingdoms would already be a win, not to mention new meat to bring to our brothels to help feed new drones. Already siding with you would usually be enough but I have two requests I as a leader must make before we sign an alliance with you."
"And that would be?"
Chrysalis licked her lips. "Step forward, I want to get a good look at the woman I will be working with."
NM shrugged her shoulders. Getting up close and personal was going to happen sooner or later. Its not like Chrysalis could do much to her if anything really happened anyways. Not many are aware of just how much power a goddess of the night can have within their lovely body.

Chrysalis grinned and began to casually walk out of the throne room. "I think we shall be looking forward to a long and prosperous alignment."
