The Pink coated Alicorn had ruled over her beloved Kingdom for over a thousand years. Every Pony across the various lands that covered from the Earth to the Sky all would bow in respect over their benevolent Princess. She showed great compassion and kindness to all of her subjects. There was no disaster that she could not counter. No feud that she could end and no enemy that she could not face. However, there was a time when she did encounter an enemy that she could not face alone. A Horrid Witch from a realm beyond her own that was shrouded in darkness and festering with black magic. This enemy would have ended her for certain and took over all of Equestria if it wasn’t for a dear friend that she has sorely missed. Anytime the Princess would sit on her throne she would gaze upon a small empty chair next to hers. If no one was around and the guards were not looking at her, a tear would fall. If the Princess was alone in her quarters, she would weep for the loss of someone that not only helped protect land that she was not part of, but was someone very dear to her that came from another realm that had its share of evil and it nearly took her own life with it. During her first few hundred years of ruling, the Princess was alerted to a strange happening that was going on near some ruins in the Everfree Forest, here a land that all ponies avoided as the forest was known for its acting upon nature and not commanded by ponies. The Princess flew in with a small escort to find a creature unlike anything seen in Equestria laying in the courtyard of a ruined castle and was barely conscious. A figure that wore a royal-like dress. Instead of a coat, it had skin and light pink hair with some patches of white. Her heartbreaking over the sight she used her magical healing abilities to save the young girl who now as able introduce herself as a Princess from a realm known as Earth and she only was in the land of Equestria due to the power of the crystal she had in her hand. The Crystal of Miracle was known to have many magic properties some being portals to other realms. Having introduced herself as, Princess Madeline she explained that she is the sole survivor of her kingdom back in her own realm. Monsters by the hundreds attacked her home and her people and kingdom were destroyed and only by the power of the crystal she made it out and thanks to Alicorn she was saved. Since that day both of the Princess’s remained close having so much to learn from each other and with the help of the crystal of Miracle it helped spread joy, love, and happiness all over Equestria giving it an age of peace. The Two had become inseparable to where they practically ruled together in days of peace. But then the Witch came which tore, Princess Angelline’s world asunder. The Witch spread terror across the land and was even powerful enough to stand against Equestra’s Princess. Her true goal was to gain the Crystal of Miracle to fully control its power and rule the land but, Princess Madeline would not allow another land she had to grown to call home and care for all those that lived in it called upon the power of the Crystal and just when she and the Witch had their hands on it when she invaded the castle in Canterlot the Princess unleashed a blast that exiled the Witch but the power was so much for her to bare that her body slowly started to fade away. Not even magic could save her. It was terrible as Princess Angelline couldn’t believe there was nothing she could do with all the power she wielded. The Ruler of Equestria and teacher to countless foals and fillies with great potential and magic and yet she was powerless to do anything for her dear friend that was slowly fading away. Though Princess Madeline was sad to feel herself fading away to a fate that had befallen all those she cared about she was glad to know that she had helped save her friend and land from suffering the same fate as those she once knew. The Ruler of Equestria could only kneel down to a young girl who only had minutes left till she would fade away for good. She thanked the human for all that she had done for both her and all her subjects. She would never forget her. Princess Madeline embraced the Alicorn hugging her close as tears filled her eyes. She too thanked her for all that she had given her. When she lost everything, she gave her something that filled her heart with hope and happiness. She asked her to continue giving that to those that need it. The two best friends embraced until the inevitable happened when the human faded away and all that was left was the Crystal of Miracle. After a time of grief Princess Angelline continued to carry on in the name of her friend whom she had honored all that she was to both her and all the ponies that grew to care for her. Continuing to use Crystal’s influencing power she continued to rule with honor and pride. With her friend's help from that time ago, Princess Angelline had become a far better princess than she once was. Though Equestria had lived in peace there was no telling when something new would come along and once could wonder would what truly happen if the Crystal would be taken away? For now, such questions never came to mind as peace continued to reign over the peaceful land. つづく... {To Be Continued...} > Chapter 1 [Part 1] > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: I don't own MLP My Little Pony characters, Games, movies, TV shows, Anime Series whatsoever. Times were peaceful as they always were. So long had it been since it ever was plagued by any form of war or natural disaster. The One who ruled over it for centuries always answered the call of those that needed help or to settled any form of dispute that would happen around the land. The Ponies of Equestria were always overwhelmingly grateful to their beautiful and honorable ruler. Though the Princess that ruled over them was the most important figure in the land prosperity was only truly successful thanks to the ponies themselves. The Earth Ponies planted and kept the lands fertile with their farming among so much else. The Pegasus was responsible for maintaining the weather conditions. Either from to snow or even, a partially cloudy day was their responsibility. Unicorns helped maintain the world itself with their power of magic. With their abilities, nothing ever seemed an impossible task with their use. Peace and Prosperity was a gift that the land of Equestria always gave thanks to its ruler and all its pony inhabitants. With everypony always working together there was nearly nothing that could not be accomplished. No feat was too grand, and no task was ever difficult. If something seemed too much a pony could count on nearly anyone or another of its kind to assist them in what it is they need help with. Friendship was the true key to everything that made Equestria stand out as a symbol to the world around them. The meaning behind friendship was taught all over the land. It was a friendship that once brought the three pony races together to form the land of Equestria under one banner in ancient times. Putting aside petty grievances and their differences they came together in their time of greatest need and formed the land that had stood for many millennia. As time carried on for the Equestrian's they encountered many troubles, issues, and blocks in their forming their great nation but as friendship had done time and time again it had helped them rise up all the more to stand against anything that ever tried to ruin the harmony that they had worked so hard for. Struggles to live were never brought into an issue as they maintained a working order thanks to their rulers from the past down to the very one that ruled them now. At times there were difficulties but with careful thinking. Good Leaders making the right choices and with friendship keeping them all together nothing ever stopped them from triumphing over the issue at hand. As time carried on many names of ponies had become legendary. From statues that stood in parks and recreational areas to within the capital of the Equestria itself. Mostly it was of their own kind that made names for themselves for great deeds. From heroic actions of protecting those from harm to discoveries of great importance that helped benefit their race. But there were a select few creatures that were not of the Pony races. Some that proved themselves to be worthy allies and even friends became well known around the lands. Ponies befriending these creatures that proved to be both helpful and kind to others became examples of how the Pony's influence about friendship brought out the best in others and not just themselves. Some of the non-pony creatures that became important figures to Equestria all earned their names within the records of Equestrian history some even earning a place in books that sometimes made their deeds be exaggerating but for all time their names would fill the hearts and minds of countless ponies that desired to be the best of themselves thanks to them. So many marvels spanned their history along with fantastic beings from their world who had helped their society grow and prosper. But there was one creature that stood among the rest of the historic figures. One creature that was not even of their world was a name so legendary that their own princess was friends with. The creature was known as a human. Most of the ponies were quite unfamiliar with the said human that was accounted to be a close friend of their beloved Princess. It had long since passed since those that once existed to have seen the human being from another realm. The Human was considered the greatest of all non-equestrian heroes. For she not only helped their Princess guide and rule over the land, but she saved Equestria itself from a villain that was from her own world. A Witch that was responsible for the worst kind of evil any realm could have ever known. Heart as black as night as the witch knew no remorse. No pity and believed in nothing but ambition. As the legend went the human that was a Princess much like their own gave everything she had to stop the Witch from bringing the same ruin as she had done to her own kingdom in her realm. Her Deed became a legend as she succeeded but her body was too gravely affected in the aftermath which caused her to vanish like she never existed at all. All that remained of her was the relic she used to stop the witch. The Story of Princess Madeline became something to read about in Equestrian history. Books were made of her time with their own Princess Angelline. Their Friendship was a symbol to all. If one showed kindness to another then that very trait would spread to the other and it would become a gift that kept on giving. With their friendship long before the Witch came to cause terror and mayhem to Equestria there was true harmony among the lands. Everypony and creature was true peace with the other and nothing ever seemed impossible. The Light they gave off before them made everyone believe in the best of others as unity was achieved when someone can look aside from the differences of another and offer their friendship. When it happens, the greatest things can become so. The Tale of Princess Madeline's sacrifice though it was a sad tale, in the end, to read of it was inspiring to all. Someone not of their own race gave her life to see to it that Equestria stays strong and true. To protect those, she came to care for the most and to see their way of life continue as it did. With time have passed by the centuries her heroics became more of a fairy tale read in children's books. Those that knew her best had long since passed on and those that remained of their knowledge of her the most had a heavy responsibility on their hoofs to not always bring up the tale of her beloved friend. The Mention or even the thought of her name would put the Princess of Equestria in a state of misery. Though she remembered everything that made her dearest friend special the knowing of her passing has been there herself holding her in her wings and hoofs when she faded into nothing had put a hole in her heart. Princess Madeline was everything to Equestria's noble and just leader. From the day they met and have become friends which eventually turned into co-ruling the land was the greatest years of, Princess Angelline. Her heart always grieved for her dear friend that had shown her so much in their time together. There was no one from her Kingdom or otherwise, that could ever replace her. She was one of a kind and when she passed on leaving only the relic of power she had brought with her when she came into Equestria had all but put an emptiness within her. The Princess of Equestria carried on since her friend's passing. Times were good since the end of the darkness that the Witch had tried to bring but nothing could ever fill the void in the heart of, Princess Angelline as without the one who became so much to her things would never be the same no matter how prosperous things were. No longer giving out the tale of her friend the legend of Princess Madeline only slipped into a children's tale. Her name was only in a section on a bookshelf that if one desired to read something that sounded more fiction than fact then they could take the book and either buy or rent it out. Many would never truly come to realize for so long how important the legend of the human Princess was to Equestrian history again. With her name now faded into children's tales, it would not ever see the light of what a true hero should be proclaimed as. It wasn't the fault of Princess Angelline as the grievance was always so heavy on her heart that she could allow herself to even bring up her friend's name. It would only cause her to tear up and cry. Madeline was far too special to her. With everything that she had done for her, how could she not feel the way that she did? But all was not lost for the human princess of legend for her tale meant a lot to young hearts and minds. The Talk of her tale in the books that were made on her filled any young filly or colt with bravado and confidence. Most would admire the Princess for her strength and courage but a few others who would read her story would more be interested in what the Princess truly was. A Friend to any whoever needed one. Within one of the thousands of villages of Equestria by the name of Twinkled Ville that was the village that was near the forest which held the very spot where Princess Madeline first appeared was a young filly that had long admired the tales of the heroic princess since the day she learned how to read. Day after day. Night after night before bedtime she would either read the book or ask for her parents to tell it to her before she would go to sleep. Princess Madeline was someone that the brown coated and pinked haired unicorn filly by the name of, Angel Heart was someone to be more than just worthy of admiration there had to be truths to it. The Tale of not only her heroic deeds but who she was to so many around her. Even the very Princess Angelline said to have been good friends with her. Ruling Equestria together couldn't seem just a fictional tale. Someone that wasn't even a pony to rule the lands. Either it was a very well-written fictional story, or it was a tale of truth. One thing that Angle Heart desired the most out of the story was the human herself. She was a marvelous friend to the Princess of Equestria and many others. The Book went on about how she was close with so many townsfolk. Ponies would await her arrival and throw the biggest of celebrations for her visits. Parades showcasing wonderful floats and parties that would last all through the night that the cleanup couldn't happen till the very next day. The Princess treated everypony she knew with respect and kindness. Ponies would practically brag about how they were good friends with the Princess from another realm. Not many could say they were a friend to such a being. That's what Angel Heart wanted more than anything. A Friend. A Unique one at that. It was true that Princess Madeline had passed as the book said which at the end talked about her tragic demise leaving behind all the friends she had made and a safe Equestria that seemed to have long forgotten of the heroine that saved them all from evil. The Little Filly dreamed every night that a human from the realm where the famed Princess came from would befriend her. That was her wish to have a friend from another place that she could share and have fun with. Of course, there were many other fillies her age around the peaceful village that knew her well and she too knew them. Sometimes she would play with the others during recess at school or if she had nothing much to do. But playing with fillies and colts was not that fun anymore. Always it was usually the same game or activity. Nothing too exciting or even close to even be a thrill. A Human could give her everything she wanted in a friend. With a fellow human, there could be so much more to be had. The activities and adventures they would have could be endless much like Princess Madeline's. She sometimes talked about her wish with the others, but they usually laughed at her. No one would ever make fun if she could prove that the story was real and bringing a human into the world would show for it. Being a young unicorn with great potential in magic Angel Heart had been borrowing many spellbooks from the public library. Using some charm, she managed to persuade the clerk to give her some of the top-tier books that were only available to high proficient spell casters. Those of Wizard rank to be more precise. It couldn't possibly hurt to give a little filly such books for what damage could she do. Being her age, she probably couldn't even understand the most basic of ingredients. However, Angel Heart was smarter than she seemed. She was top of her class. Anything to do with magic or science she was keen at. Gathering the ingredients was simple compared to most things. But as months past she had been going to the spot where the human Princess came in from. She tried numerous times to create a summoning spell. Every time she tried it failed. Either from lack of ingredients or not using the right kind since the spell required items more specific than she realized at first. After so many tries she started to doubt herself and the book in general. It could be an actual children's tale but that couldn't be. Not after everything she read. Having read it hundreds of times by now it seemed real. It had to be. Princess Madeline saved Equestria with a gem that was named the Crystal of Miracle. Some rumors have spread that such a gem resides in the Capital of Equestria. If those rumors were true then the book had to be based on fact instead of fiction. Angel Heart not only dreamed of a human friend, but she could be what would be classified as a Guardian of Miracle. The Book talked about how Princess Madeline safeguarded the powerful magic crystal and that she used it on behalf of Equestria. To have such an honor would be two dreams come true. She had to try the summoning spell again. It was the weekend and school was off. Every child would be out at play and her parents would be looking over the house and any other pony would be going about their daily business. This was the perfect time for her to go back to the forest to try everything one more time. She gathered everything she needed into a saddlebag and headed out of her home after misinforming her parents where she was going. The Forest was known to be dangerous even though Angel Heart has been going out there for a while now. It certainly was not like most forests that abided under the workmanship of ponies. It was a bit thicker and congesting. A Bit spooky but nothing truly to be afraid of. "Hey, Rose!" A voice called at Angel Heart. Rose was a nickname given to her by many of fellow classmates. When she told her parents about it they thought it was cute and the name stuck with her. She never minded it as, Rose a rather delightful nickname. She saw it was two fillies running up to her one was golden-haired, and the blond coated one whose name was Lila Flower. And the other was light blued haired and grey colored filly named, Morning Glitter. "Hi, Lila! Hi Glitter!" Angel greeted kindly though she was a bit in a hurry. "Wanna come play with us?" Lila asked pacing in place as she was ready for another fun day of games. "I'm afraid I have something going on. Perhaps another time?" Angel suggested. Morning Glitter scoffed as it was the usual excuse they tend to get from her. She noticed the book on the right side of her saddlebag. "Come on! Can't you for once stop reading and come to the park with us!" "I promise I'll come next time!" Angel vowed as she was rather tired of their begging. Almost every day they would come to ask. The two other fillies sighed in disappointment. "Alright." Lila accepted turning away and ran to the park. "See you later then!" Morning Glitter said before leaving to catch up with her friend to go play at the park where everypony would go when there was no school. Angel Heart took her leave heading into the forest. She ignored the rather spooky chirps and the hooting of owls as she made her way towards the very grounds where the human Princess had first come through from. The young filly was certain this time it was all going to work. Hour after hour. Day after day going through every book. Every scroll and document trying to find and look over the recipe for the summoning spell. All had to be precise and every time she failed. Nothing had worked but that was only due to her hasty nature. She overlooked a missing ingredient. Or she didn't make the inscription right. So many mistakes but this time there wouldn't be one. She was certain it would work and prove that it wasn't a silly filly's tale. She spent the next hour preparing the spell. Double-checking and re-checking over a bit of the ingredient she was using. Cross-referencing her stone circle with the one from the book she had to make sure it looked exactly the same. Angel Heart was not going to let this next attempt be because of a missed step or something that wasn't there. It was right as it should be finally after so long. Angel Heart gazed over her circle as it laid upon the ground in the small open area that had a clear view of the sky. The Forest was known to be so congested by the foliage around that nearly no light could get through but in this part that was said to be sacred from the book, it was one of the few areas that had sun and the moon show through it on cloudless days and nights. She didn't want to delay it any longer. The Stone Circle was set. The ingredients she needed were all mixed up into thick powder from a mortar and pestle. It was sprinkled over every stone that was used till they all sparked in the ray of the sun. They were covered from top to bottom. Not one inch of any of the various-sized stones was left uncovered by the powder that was made with magic and ingenuity. "Please let this work." She begged trying not to whimper. So many times, she had tried to only fail. It cannot possibly fail this time. She had put too much effort into this to not let something she believed in be proven wrong. Taking a firm stance, she shut her eyes and focused. Her horn started to glow as she concentrated heavily. She immediately began to sweat as the spell was heavy and powerful. She grunted as her little hoofs sank partially into the ground. She strained to keep herself going as the spell was weighing her down physically and mentally. Then her horn popped into a bright glare that would have blinded her for a moment if she didn't already have her eyes closed. She was thrown back and landed on the ground hard. Angel Heart groaned as the spell casting had weakened her greatly. She opened her eyes hoping to see a result finally after so long. But there was nothing. The Circle of stones covered in the enchanted powder remained and nothing had shown at all. The Filly moaned in defeat as tears began to form. She had done everything. There was no mistake at all. It didn't work. It was truly all for nothing. "It was just a story after all." She wept to turn around ready to walk away from months of work that was pointless. She wasted her hopes and dreams on something that was never real. Just when she was about to walk away something cackled behind her making her turn back around and showing in the center of the stone circle that now glowed in bright colors of pink was a vortex of some sort. The Filly took cover behind a nearby bolder not knowing what was going to happen. The Vortex widened shooting out a heavy wind that blew everything around except the stone circle that remained in place. Coming flying out of it was a human girl that screamed in shock as she collapsed onto the grounds and appearing just behind her was a large pink dragon that land right beside her. They both landed so hard that the wind got knocked out of them just as the vortex closed behind them. Angel Heart could not believe her eyes. The Spell had worked! It wasn't for nothing after her. Laying before her was a human girl and even a pink dragon. She smiled widely as her work had paid off. She had to immediately introduce herself and welcome them both to the land of Equestria. つづく... {To Be Continued...}
