Job: Chapter 1.

The year is 2029, the year of the future. Mutants are starting to become popular and a favored help among the military. The world is much safer and cleaner.

James was a chaffeur for his clients, requiring him to go on long hours of work which would be 2 or 3 days. His limo was a 2024 Chrysler E8, a sleek black car with a long stretched body, with long couches and an ice box cooler for alcohol. It had enough space for 6 to 14 people.

James was asleep in the back of his limo, trying to get an hour of rest before finishing his last shift, this was a temporary job, not one he planned to do forever. A quick cash grab.

He was jolted awake sharply, his eyes slowly adjusting and opening. He groaned as the car jolted him again.

"Ugh, fuck." He moaned. His legs gently touching the cobble ground beneath him. He walked around to the back of his limo and saw a group of people trying to remove the back rims from the luxurious vehicle. The rest of them encouraging on the guy who was spinning the wrench on the plates .

His still sleepy eyes waking up slowly.

"Uh, guys." He stated, the group turned to look at him. The thief dropped the wrench as it fell to the ground with a sharp metallic clang.

"These are chrome plated lugs yer gonna strip em. Plating flakes off." He warned.

"Yeah?" One of the thugs interruped rudely.

"Ya know this is a lease no one's gonna pay ta ride-." He tried to say. A bullet was then fired through his shoulder, knocking him to the floor. The group then began to laugh at him. To them he looked to be dead.

The group then turned back to the car to continue trying to take off it's tyre plate, continuing from where they left off.

James awoke a second later, his wound already healed, he then looked to his right shoulder, the blazer jacket and shirt underneath it had been shot through, blood staining both pieces of clothing.

"Shit." He mumbled, getting back up onto his feet, ready to face the thugs.

"Uh guys, guys." The group turned to look at him once again with shock, fear and anger. He could sense a small amount of surprise within them.

"Guys seriously, ya don't wanna do this." He warned, pulling out his claws slowly to intimidate them and make them back off.

"Take him out." The ringleader of the group ordered. Another member of the group ran at him and began to hit his face with the tyre wrench in an attempt to knock him out, but due to having Adamantine coat his bones and skeleton, it didn't work on him.

He then began aimlessly slashing at the group. Another thief of the group slammed a bottle of Whiskey into his right hip, the rectangular and tube shaped container smashing into tiny pieces upon impact. James felt nothing.

He was then kicked in the shoulder by the ringleader of the group. James then aimlessly slashed again, missing the group and just cutting through air. He had managed to daze one of the criminals.

James ran at the hooded thug and cut through his right arm with his claws, before throwing the wounded thug a distance away. He was then hit again in the face with the barrell of the pistol he was shot with.

He slashed the attacker in the stomach, the criminals didn't have long left to live due to the wounds he had given them. They'd die from blood loss.

The thug with the gun aimlessly fired the pistol. James noticed the gun was aimed at his limo. "No! Not the car!" James exclaimed, running to take the hit instead of damaging the car.

In his attempt to save the limo from the damage, he was shot through his right shoulder with the bullet that was meant for the limo. A weaponless thug of the group ran at him and knocked him to the floor. James attempted to defend himself from the group, overpowered and overwhelmed by them.

Another thug hit him with a baseball bat. He was then kicked in the back as he rolled onto his stomach to defend it from being hit.

Another thug of the group cocked a shotgun at his head, the rest began to kick him hard on his back.

Purely overwhelmed by the group, and angered at the attempt of having his car's lugs stolen, his eyes shifted a red colour as the animal within was released.

James let out a short feral roar and slashed through the attacker's right hand, severing it at the wrist, the disconnected muscles firing the gun. A stray bullet hit the limo's right rear door.

"Motherfucker!" James yelled, he countered an incoming attack and slashed another attacker's shoulder before slamming his claws through the thug's throat and head, killing him instantly.

James held his claws out and slammed them into the other attacker's stomach, cutting them left and right rapidly before removing his right hand's claws and slashing him across the face, killing him in seconds.

One of the thugs ran at him and was impaled through the forehead by James's right hand's claws, his death swift and quick.

The last thug also ran at him, attempting to punch him, James had foresensed this and caught the thug's left hand, cutting the throat open with a short feral roar as the thug fell to the ground and bled out.

The last two thugs evacuated to their van, one was starting it up whilst the other held onto his amputated arm trying to stop it bleeding. James caught the wrench and threw it at the van's windshield, breaking it's right side.

James retracted his claws and removed the the Lift Scizzor Jack from the tire, pulling it out and putting it in the back of the car before closing the boot. He then made his way to the front of the car's right side and started it up.

James went to a small rest stop and took off his ruined blazer and shirt, before discarding them in the bin and putting on a new fresh white shirt, tucking it into his black dress pants alongside his white vest that was now covered by the shirt.

James then redid his tie back up, before putting on and buttoning up the new blazer. Once he finished his quick and easy change, he left the small rest stop and drove back home to the estate house S.H.I.E.L.D had let him, his wife and daughter live on.

Homebound: Chapter 2.

James had begun driving back home to the estate home that S.H.I.E.L.D had allowed him, his wife Sunset and their daughter Sunrise to live on.

It was 7:25 in the morning. Knowing he had an hour to spare, he decided to pull over and sleep.

After waking up from the nap, James started up the car's ignition again, the roar of the limo's engine coming to life as he begun to make his journey home. The roads were loud and busy. A tiring journey.

James drove past electro billboards and street lamps, the roads were busy that morning. People were walking to their jobs for the day. Electric cars, autotrucks and other electric powered vehicles roamed the streets. Some old cars from early 2016 and 2020 were around, rare to see these days.

The sun began to rise. The purplish-blue darkness that enveloped the cities and streets soon faded as the sky became a clear and bright blue. A bright and sunny day.

James turned on the radio, the local news host informing everybody of recent news. He remembered that voice. Micro Chips, the tech wizard at CHS back when they were students. He smiled at the memories. Many years had passed since then.

"I have a friend who's a mutant, he's a powerful guy, his name is James, although I haven't seen him in years, it'd be nice to see him again and have a nice friendly chat with him after all this time." Micro Chips spoke. "Although, I've heard he's married now, to an old friend of ours. Sunset Shimmer." Micro Chips added. How in the world did he know about their marriage. James thought as he drove through the gigantic city.

James never realized that he meant that much to him, it made him smile that Micro Chips still remembered him.

"And now with us live, Rarity Belle, fashion designer, and former student of Canterlot High School. How are you?" The radio pronouncer asked her.

"Why I'm fabulous darling! I once had a friend at that school, I haven't spoken to him in months, it'd be nice to see him again, the dear. He's like a brother to me, although we were harsh to him and someone he loved and married about thirteen years ago. There was a cyberbully called Anon-A-Miss, and we didn't believe him and the person he loved, Sunset Shimmer. We all believed he was working with her as Anon-A-Miss. Once the true 'culprit', or should I say, 'culprits' admitted to being Anon A Miss, we were very upset at ourselves. They were mad at us for a long time and we didn't talk for about a year and a half from memory. Although now we're on good terms." Rarity stated, sniffling slightly.

James rolled his eyes at how his old friend mentioned him, a slight smile on his lips.

"Say Mrs Belle, would you be able to get him on the call?" The radio host asked her.

"Why of course." Rarity answered as she input the number, dialing his mobile. James felt his phone ring, he picked it up and answered.

"Hello darling. How are you?" Rarity asked him cheerfully.

"Why ah'm fine Rarity, how's yer fashion company doing?" James asked politely.

"And we are live with Mr James? What is his last name please Mrs Rarity?" The host asked.

"Howlett." Rarity answered.

"And we are live with Mr James Howlett, also known as 'The Wolverine'. How are you sir?" The radio host asked him excitedly.

"Well ah'm doing fine sir, just on mah way home after working fer a few days as a chaffeur for VIP's and whatnot." James answered, keeping his right hand on the steering wheel.

"What sort of limo are you driving?" The host asked him, wanting to get info out of him.

"A 2024 Chrysler E8 series sir." James answered.

"Wow, a good limo." The host stated.

"It is and goodbye." James stated, ending the call rudely as he smirked before chuckling softly.

"Oh what a dirty move!" The host stated, beginning to laugh hysterically, Micro Chips and Rarity joining in.

"Well that's all from us right now but stay tuned. This is Canterlot City Radio live." The host added.

James sighed and turned off the radio, preferring to be in the quiet for now.

He soon reached the large metal gates on both sides. Pulling out the wireless gate fob from his pocket, he pressed down the button to open the gate.

The metal barriers silently opened, giving him a quiet entry to the family home.

James pulled over at the front of the house and parked it next to it gently, making sure not to damage the side of the car or dent it. He opened his door and got out of the limo quietly, closing it behind him and clicking it shut with the lock button next to the brass ignition key.

He silently walked over to the house, his wife and daughter were in the living room together. He opened its front door, turning the doorknob silently and entering the house.

"Sunset? Sunrise? Ya here? Ah'm back." James spoke softly. Sunset walked over to him and hugged him, before kissing him softly. Sunrise hugged him happily.

"I missed you honey, so much." Sunset cooed happily, nuzzling his neck gently as she kissed him passionately

"Ah missed ya too Sunset, more than ya know." James replied, kissing his wife again.

"I missed you dad." Sunrise happily said, tightly hugging him.

"Ah missed ya too Sunrise." James replied to his daughter softly, kissing her forehead.

"How was the journey?" Sunset asked softly, knowing this was the last time he'd be doing this. She took his blazer jacket and placed it on a coat hanger.

"Tiring. Almost got hijacked by a bunch of thugs who wanted ta steal the lugs fer whatever reason." James answered his lover.

"No more long journeys now. Ah've paid off the limo and now ah'm allowed ta keep it if ah want to. Would ya like it if we kept the limo for family trips?" James asked his wife gently.

Sunset shook her head at the idea. She'd rather return it.

James chuckled, they had allowed him to keep it as they were retiring the E8 models for the new Chrysler E9 limos.

"Wanna just relax in bed sweetie and just cuddle for the day?" Sunset asked softly, her voice warm and loving.

"Ah'd like that. It's been a few days since we've been physically together." James replied gently, running a hand through his wife's hair softly.

minutes later

The married couple decided to spend the rest of the day in bed together. James smiled and allowed himself to relax again.

It felt good to be home once more.

Recruitment: Chapter 3.

A new day had passed, and the married couple were at a small cafe. Mekarm had offered to take Sunrise off of their hands to spend some time with her.

James and Sunset were having coffee with one of the few people he'd expect to offer it to them. Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"It's nice ya want ta touch base with me after so long Nick but ah'm starting ta think there's more ta it than just this." James calmly stated as he took another sip of his coffee.

Nick just chuckled and gave him a friendly smile. James hadn't changed at all. Not one bit.

"Always to the point James. Just like your dad. I'm thinking of recruiting you two and another to join S.H.I.E.L.D. I know it's sudden after what happened and such but I know good recruits when I see em." Nick stated, drinking his own coffee.

Sunset looked at Nick with an eyebrow raised in confusion.

"Ok, I know me and my husband would work perfectly with you guys. But who's the other guy you got your eye on?" Sunset asked confused.

Nick just smirked at the couple.

"Mektaveus Armaldo." He replied with a smirk. James spat out his coffee in shock. His eyes widened, how did Nick know about him? He thought to himself. Sunset's eyes were also widened in complete and utter shock as they looked at Nick like he just grew three heads at once.

"Say what?!" The couple said in complete unison, shocked at the fact that Nick knew about him.

"Now hear me out, alright? I know you both see him as a brother and your daughter Sunrise loves him as an uncle but that man you helped James is strong enough to throw a car like it was a wooden toy. Not to mention he has been in the force for so long he could be in special ops. I want him to help others with his talents and protect the lives of everyone. Just like I want you two to help me do the same." Nick calmly told them.

Both James and Sunset were taking what Nick said and thought about it. Coming to a decision, they agreed.

Suddenly a car crashed right outside of the cafe they were sitting in. The trio looked out the window and saw Mekarm standing in front of a heavily dented car with the man having no damage done to him, but what set off both James's and Sunset's worry was seeing Sunrise standing behind her uncle.

Parental instincts kicking in, they looked over at the girl in worry and fear. A voice in the back of their minds telling them to go and get her. To go and save her.

"Sunrise!" They cried out in fear for the girl and were about to run over to her to see if she was alright but stopped at what they saw happen next.

Mekarm used his left hand to punch into the hood of the car and rip out the engine from it. The driver who turned out to be politician Blueblood was terrified of what just happened.

"Can you please put that back so I can drive away from you in fear?" Blueblood asked fearfully in a shaky voice, afraid of the man with the mechanical arm.

Mekarm just walked over to the driver's side and pulled Blueblood out of the driver's seat and into his face. He held the frightened politician with his right arm.

"I want you to apologize" Mekarm growled, his niece standing behind him unafraid but confused of the current events going on in front of her.

"I-I'm sorry sir!" Blueblood wailed like a little girl to the veteran soldier.

"Not to me." Mekarm growled, before pointing to Sunrise who stood next to him.

"To her. I want you to apologize to her for almost killing her you idiot." Mekarm growled angrily. He was careful and chose not to curse in front of his niece. He didn't want her to learn to think that it was okay to always curse at people.

"B-But-." Blueblood blubbered fearfully, feeling afraid of and intimidated by the man.

"NOW!" Mekarm commanded furiously, protecting his niece.

"I'm sorry for almost hitting you with my car little girl!" Blueblood fearfully whimpered to Sunrise, who just shrugged, unaffected by it all.

"It's okay." She said sweetly. This was nothing new to her, she knew the world was a dangerous place and that people were awful.

She began to sniff the air with her heightened sense of smell. She wrinkled her nose in disgust at the revolting odor that wafted in the air.

"Eww, what's that disgusting smell?" Sunrise asked, pinching her nose to block out the smell.

"It's alright, sweetie. It won't be here for much longer." Mekarm lovingly promised his niece. Giving her a soft and gentle smile.

It turned out that Blueblood had embarassingly soiled himself like a toddler.

In disgust at what Blueblood had just done, he grabbed him by his collar and held him in the air.

"Wait wha-aaaa!" The politician wailed as he was thrown into a nearby river. James, Nick and Sunset watched it all unfold. Happy and thankful for Mekarm, and angry at Blueblood for nearly killing their daughter. Even though she had a healing factor and Adamantine coating her young skeleton, she could still be killed. Albeit with heavy difficulty.

They began to follow Blueblood. They found that he had fallen into a nearby lake.

"Isn't there a lake in that direction?" Nick asked smugly, watching as the helpless politican tried to swim for safety.

"Yes." The couple said in joined unison. A loud splash made itself known as Blueblood tried to swim to safety. People began to record him, laughing at his expense. This was surely going to affect his reputation and go on the news later tonight.

"Nick? Do me a favour? If this comes on the news tonight, can you get the news channels ta not find us and leave us alon and ta not have us interviewed? Ah don't want ta be in the news. Neither does Sunset or our daughter." James asked his director politely.

"Of course James. As of now, you're agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Welcome to the team." Nick spoke with happiness as the couple followed him to a back of a wide store. A quinjet was parked there.

"So, ready to see the helicarrier? And you might want to bring Mekarm and your daughter with you both. I'd like for them to join S.H.I.E.L.D." Nick asked softly.

"Got it." James stated. Soon Mekarm and Sunrise made it to the trio. Mekarm shook Nick's hand after being informed of his new job which he agreed to. He wanted to do this to not only protect his niece, but everyone on the planet.

"Sunrise, baby, are you okay?" Sunset asked softly, pulling her daughter into a gentle and protective hug. Her maternal instincts towards her daughter still strong and fierce as ever.

"Yeah, I'm fine mom, uncle Mekarm kept me safe." Sunrise happily stated, hugging her mother more.

"Mekarm? Thank you, man. Fer protecting mah daughter and saving her life. Ah can't thank ya enough buddy." james told Mekarm happily.

"It's no big deal man, I'd do anything to protect my niece." Mekarm softly replied, hugging Sunrise gently.

The quinjet took off in the jet as they flew towards the helicarrier.

Nick, Mekarm, James and his wife and daughter were being flown on the quinjet to the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier, an aircraft carrier that was upgraded with thrusters and two huge fans for takeoff.

As they landed on one of the helicarrier's runways, James spotted Steve and the rest of the avengers together.

The quintet left the quinjet and walked out onto the helicarrier, minding the jets planning to land.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y, do me a favour and scan the guy with the metal arm. We need to know what it's made of, and also know who he is." Tony requested his A.I and friend.

"Of course, sir." F.R.I.D.A.Y responded automatically. Tony then was given info on who he was, former police officer and soldier, weapons expert, uncle and best friend.

"Stark, who is this impressive fellow?" Thor kindly asked his friend in the mechanical repulsor powered suit,

"He's an old friend of Wolverine's son. The two fought together in the police force and military. He's also an uncle to James's kid." Tony explained to thor, the blonde god looked surprised at the fact that Logan had a son.

"Logan had a son? I never knew he was with someone." Thor stated, his eyes widened in shock and surprise at that bit of information.

"Yeah. He's quite a powerful guy. Tracked down the cyberbully Anon-A-Miss at the school Canterlot High, worked in the police force with the guy with the metal arm who's called Mekarm. His full name is Mektaveus Armaldo. He was wounded by a grenade and lost his left hand. James managed to reconstruct it using advanced mechanics and biology." Steve informed, the vibranium shield shining as the sun glared down upon it and the helicarrier.

"Hey Nick, what's the info on James and his girl and kid?" Tony asked, the front of the helmet lifting up to reveal a middle-aged man with short jet black hair and a black goatee beard.

"Stark, this is James Hudson-Howlett, Wolverine's son. And this is Sunset Shimmer, his wife." Nick started.

"And this is mah little girl Sunrise." James finished ruffling her hair softly, eliciting a giggle from the teen.

"Now Stark. James, Mekarm, Sunset and Sunrise here are members of S.H.I.E.L.D now. They're helping us track down Mandarin and the rest of the remaining criminals around here." Nick stated.

"Hello young Sunrise, I am Thor Odinson. God of thunder and a demigod." Thor introduced politely to the teen, smiling as he noticed a small resemblance to James through a tiny patch of the girl's hair.

"Nice to meet you Thor, I'm Sunrise." She giggled sweetly, recieving a gentle hug from the demigod.

"I'm Sunset, her mother and I'm married to James here." Sunset introduced, James smiling at his old friend.

"I'm actually a daughter and niece of two rulers of a country in another world, making Sunrise here my heir and James my prince." Sunset explained, earning shocked looks from everyone present except James and Sunrise.

"A princess you say? I have not met a princess in my lifetime, your highness." Thor bowed respectfully.

"Please do not do that. There is no need for such respect. I'm not a princess in this world." Sunset tried to reason.

"Hey James! How have you been?" Steve asked, shaking hands with his old friend.

"Ah've been good Rogers. Dated that woman over there, married her, had a kid and here ah am." James told the former World War Two veteran soldier.

"You've got a wonderful wife and kid James." Steve sighed, looking at the picture of Peggy, his now deceased love. A feeling of sadness within his voice and expression that James took notice of with concern and sadness himself.

"Ah'm really sorry man. Ah'm so sorry." He aplogized to the veteran soldier, placing a hand on his shoulder comfortingly.

"Don't be. I've served for my country, saved many lives, made some good friends for the rest of my life and whatnot." Steve retorted to the young identical clone of Wolverine.

"Aww, who's this little cutiepie?" Natasha Romanoff asked James and Sunset as she gently cupped Sunrise's cheeks and hugged the girl softly.

"I'm Sunrise, are you an old friend of my dad?" Sunrise curiously asked the red-haired woman.

"Yes I am, we've been good friends for a long time." Natasha told the young girl softly.

"James? Can I be her aunty Nat? You've been like a little brother to me." Natasha admitted quietly.

"Sure, but didn't ya adopt Wanda as yer daughter? Ya deserve a chance at motherhood Nat." James replied to his other oldest friend.

"I did, she's busy right now though, you should come meet her sometime." Natasha asked him, smiling softly.

"Maybe when ah'm not busy, ah'd like ta meet Wanda. How's she been doing, anyway?" James asked her, wrapping a hand over Sunrise's shoulder.

"She's fine, and sure." Natasha responded to her brotherly friend, giving him a soft smile.

"Good, good." He replied kindly, keeping a protective and watchful eye over his daughter.

The quintet then went inside of the helicarrier and were shown around the small headquarters. The group then met Maria Hill who helped keep the US and the avengers on good terms with N.A.T.O.

James then decided to have a bit of fun with Thor. He held his hand out and closed his eyes, Mjolnir soon flew into his palm, giving him the power of the demigod. Lightning surrounding him. James then threw the hammer back to Thor, cackling loudly at the unhappy look on the demigod's face.

hours later

Once the family arrived home they set up dinner and had a pleasant mealtime together, Sunrise was once again lovingly tucked into bed, cuddling into the covers and drifting off peacefully to sleep as her parents watched for a few seconds, smiling as she slept. The two then retired to their own room and held eachother before falling asleep.

The Merc With The Mouth: Chapter 5.

View Online

Hi there! Deadpool here. Sorry for taking over the story today, just wanted to give some of you who don't know about who I am, or what the fuck makes me wear this suit the recap of what went down.

If you didn't know, I was a hired assassin. I'd be given your name on a gold card, I'd track you down, sneak in, beat the shit out of you and kill you.

Think of us as fucked up tooth fairies who knock out the teeth and take the cash. Let's just hope we never see your name on a gold card.

During my time as an assassin, I met a nice woman called Vanessa.

Down the line somewhere I got cancer, was turned into a realistic Freddy Krueger, escaped the facility, found Weasel, got this ass into red spandex, bonded with a nice blind lady called Al and killed some people,

Francis, the shitstain who turned me into this freak, kidnapped my girlfriend. He almost killed her, but in the end I fought and killed that fucker. He won't grow back from that! I apologized to Vanessa, started dating her again. Life was good.

I had a happy life for a few years with Vanessa, planned to have a kid called Cher.

Some Japanese fuckers find my place, murdered Vanessa and ruined my life. After that I, Colossus and NegaSonicTeenagewhattheshit tried to save a kid called Russell Collins. Or as he tried to go by, Firefist.

Russell got me sent to a max security prison, had to fight a guy called Cable who's from the future, tried to rescue Russell, that failed, he escaped with Juggernaut who ripped me in half. Domino had to carry me like a backpack and I regrew my lower body and my lower zone.

Found Russell and Juggernaut, took care of the guy, sacrificed myself for Russel, temporarily died, went to heaven, saw and spoke to Vanessa, was revived, prevented a bad future and walked away into the distance with the boyband, Dopinder and Russell.

There. All caught up.

Deadpool teleported behind James, Sunset and Sunrise, the trio were spooked by the annoying mercenary.

"Well, well, well Logan you came back from the dead for another movie didn't ya?" Wade joked rudely, breaking the fourth wall as usual.

"Shut it asshole before ah chop ya into tiny little cubes, ya won't regenerate or heal from that." James snarled, attempting to punch the childish killer.

"Wow, you always were a hothead, it's because you're Canadian, they're always so angry." Deadpool teased, making James growl in frustration.

"Come near me, mah wife or mah daughter and ah will gut ya!" James aggressively threatened. To which it had no effect.

"Wait, Logan's not married, and doesn't have a kid, so who are you really?" Deadpool questioned again. This time more confused.

"First of all ah'm his son so back the fuck off before ah throw ya onto the helicarrier and into it's engines." James warned, his claws starting to come out.

"Easy wolvie, easy. I was kidding." Deadpool said, cackling as James just sighed in annoyance. Eventually the spandex-wearing antihero took notice of their daughter.

"Well who's this adorable girl?" Deadpool asked softly, attempting to try and ruffle the girl's hair, only to be stopped by Mekarm.

"Come near my niece and I will murder you myself." He threatened, punching the mercenary with his mechanical Vibranium arm, sending the immature assassin flying into a building. Only to have him teleport back in front of Mekarm.

"Yeesh, calm down already. Who's this tough looking fucknut?" Wade taunted, as he was punched once again in the face, sending him flying into another building, before teleporting back to them.

"Oh fer fuck's sake!" James roared, preparing to attack as all he began to see was red in his eyes.

Deadpool shrieked and teleported away from them, finally leaving them alone instead of harrassing them.

"Glad that's over with." James stated, Sunset and his daughter nodding in agreement.

The trio decided to head home and relax for the evening. The family enjoyed a home cooked meal and spent the rest of the night as a happy family.

Parental Comfort: Chapter 6.

Sunrise thrashed around, whimpering and slightly yelling. Tears flowing down her cheeks. The girl's claws out fully as they aimlessly slashed the air.

The two worried parents began to sense something was wrong with Sunrise, their protective parental instincts telling them to check on her which they did.

They entered the dark room to see their daughter thrashing about, whimpering and crying.

"Sunrise! Sunrise wake up!" Sunset shouted, waking the distraught teen up. Her claws retracting back into her wrist.

"Are ya alright, Sunrise? What's wrong?" James softly asked, placing a gentle hand over his daughter's shoulder, tears trailing down her face and her body sweating lightly.

"I-" She began fearfully. She felt afraid to tell her parents. She didn't want them to think less of her.

"I had a nightmare, it scared me." She admitted softly, looking away in shame.

"Sunrise, darlin', there's no shame in feelin' pain or fear. It's a natural thing ta feel." James lovingly told his daughter, recieving a gentle sob from the distraught girl.

"What was it about?" Sunset lovingly crooned, running a hand through her daughter's hair, trying to ease her back to sleep.

"You both abandoned me, forgot about me, didn't love me." Sunrise sobbed heartbroken, her parents holding her tightly and protectively. It broke their hearts to see their baby girl suffer in such a way.

"Sunrise, look at me darlin' okay?" James began gently. She looked to him, tear trails evident on her face. Her eyes puffy and red.

"Ah can't promise something bad won't ever happen ta us. But if it does, ya have got uncle Mekarm, Grandma Jean, Aunt Laura, Grandma Celestia, Grandpa Discord and so many more people ta be there fer ya." James softly whispered to the girl.

"But ah promise ya, on mah, yer mother's and yer life, ah will never let anyone hurt ya, ya hear? Ah will always be here ta protect ya no matter what. Ah will never let ya suffer alone, ah'm always here fer ya. Because that's mah job as yer dad, ta protect, love and care fer ya. Yer so precious ta me, Sunrise." James softly cooed, gently rubbing her back.

"B-But what if I lose you guys? What if I never get to be hugged or shown any love by you both anymore? Please don't ever leave me behind." Sunrise sobbed, hiccuping slightly.

Sunset comforted her as she rubbed her daughter's back, softly singing a lullaby to her and running a hand through the red and gold locks in an attempt to soothe her back to sleep once more

"I will always be here for you, no matter what. You are my sweet baby girl, and you always will be. I will always love you, no matter what happens." Sunset whispered ever so softly.

Sunrise whimpered fearfully. She felt a lone tear slide down her cheek. She felt her mother brushing it away before recieving a kiss on the forehead and felt her mother rub her cheek with her thumb. She was shushed by her mother's finger on her lips ever so softly.

"Hush now, baby girl. Mom's here now, mom's got you. I love you so, so much, my sweet one. I will always be here to soothe you when you're upset, I'll be here to tuck you in and kiss you goodnight, I will always be here for you. As your mother it's my job to keep you safe, warm, loved and cared for." Sunset crooned lovingly, rocking Sunrise back and forth gently in her lap. The gentle rocking motion easing Sunrise back to sleep. A small smile on the girl's lips.

Sunset tucked her back into bed and made sure she was comfortable and cozy, before kissing her forehead and quietly leaving the room, James doing the same.

The two parents watched her protectively for a few seconds, Sunrise's chest rising and falling normally as she slept peacefully once more, snuggling into the covers to get comfortable. That was enough to chase away the bad dreams tonight.

A Failed Love From A Past Lover: Chapter 7.

The family of three were enjoying a peaceful morning together, however another piece of James's past had decided to show itself. His ex-girlfriend, Samantha. Nicknamed Sammy.

James had quickly gone out to grab the three of them a drink and something to eat. As he left the small coffee shop, a voice spoke up. Someone he once knew and never wanted to see again. The pain was too much. She was his first ever girlfriend, after all.

"Jimmy? Is that really you?" Samantha asked the doppleganger of Wolverine. However, he simply looked away from her to ignore her. As if she was a fly annoying him.

"What do ya want?" He growled annoyed, glaring at her.

"I-I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have judged you like I did back at the drag strip race-." She tried to profusely apologize to him in hopes to try and get him back as he cut her off.

"Do not bring up what fucking happened ta me back then. Fuck off and stay outta mah life. Ah want nothing ta do with ya. Go find someone else ta date who's human and someone ya can at least tolerate and like fer what they are." James growled. His voice full of disgust and hatred at her for what she did to him all those years ago. The pain was there and she was bringing it all back. He didn't want that. He didn't want to remember her.

"Please James, honey-" She tried to beg, only to be interrupted again by him.

"Do not call me sweet nicknames. We're not together anymore. Ah have a life now, and yer not a part of it." He stated sharply, his eyes narrowed at hers.

"I'm so sorry James, please, take me back, I want you back in my life." Samantha begged, tears streaming down her face as he looked away in anger and disgust.

"No. Ah'm never takin ya back. Ah have someone ah love. Ya need ta move on, find someone new." James retorted furiously.

He began walking away from her and back to his pickup truck. He climbed in and started the ignition, preparing to drive off back home.

Samantha wanted to follow him and be with him. She walked back to her car just as he drove off.

She tried to find where his car had gone, but couldn't find him. Samantha broke down and cried into her arms, she regretted what she did to him, she still loved him and she wanted him to love her back. But she didn't know how to get him back.

That is until she spotted the vehicle's distinct light blue paint and muddy tires. She began to follow him to a large amount of land, locked off to everyone else unless they had the keycode to open the small metal gate which opened allowing him access. He drove into his home's estate as the gate behind him closed.

Samantha parked it at the gate and climbed over it. She knew what she was doing was illegal, but she wanted to see where he lived on this giant estate. And with whom.

She watched as the pickup truck parked next to a large house, the outside of the building a cream white. She tried to look through the silver titanium door, the rectangular object preventing her from going in.

"Samantha ya need ta leave. This is private property owned by S.H.I.E.L.D." James warned as he cocked his shotgun, reloading it with four new shells.

"Please, I want you, I need you!" She begged him, hoping he would reconsider and take her back.

"No, Ah have a wife, someone ah'm remaining loyal ta." James growled aggressively towards his ex lover.

"You're married? Since when?" Samantha asked confused. She hadn't noticed the ring on his finger. That was until she noticed it. She looked at it with shock as she noticed the exact same ring on Sunset's ring finger.

"Who are you? And what are you doing here?" Sunset questioned the girl. She noticed an expression of anger and sadness on her husband's face as he stared at the red-haired woman. Unpleasant memories coming back to him.

"Honey, do you know this woman?" Sunset asked him softly.

James sighed and nodded, planning on how he would tell her.

"Sunset, this is Samantha. Before ah met, dated and married ya, ah dated Samantha here. But that was fer a few months. Because during a drag strip race mah front tire blew out, causing mah car ta tumble down a hillside and explode. Ah survived because of mah healing factor. Once she saw what ah was, a mutant, she was disgusted by me and broke up with me there and then." James explained sharply. Annoyance, anger and sadness clear in his tone.

"Let me get this straight, Samantha. You broke up with him just because he's a mutant? Are you fucking serious?" Sunset angrily thundered to the now fearfully cowering red-head.

"His species were different and weird! They weren't normal and they never will be! I want to take him back because I feel bad for how I treated him and his species." Samantha tried to explain fearfully.

"Oh, so just because he was a mutant you couldn't stand being with him? If he was human would you have broken up with him and left him like you did?" Sunset asked furiously. Silence was all she needed to get a clear answer.

"How could you hate an amazing and wonderful species such as his?! They may be different and odd but they have helped us humans so many times yet many of us don't realize how much they've helped us. James included." Sunset stated, noticing him blushing.

"Ah don't want ya back, Samantha. Ah can never forgive ya fer what ya did that day. Leave." James growled. Anger clear in his tone. A small hint of sadness hidden in his voice.

"You disgusting racist and selfish bitch! How could you hurt such a sweet, loyal, kind, protective, loving and amazing guy?! I've never met a girl who is as evil and selfish as you!" Sunset thundered at the red-headed woman in pure disgust for how she treated James, her husband.

"James please I'm sorry! Please give me another chance!" She begged one last time.

"No. Leave. Now." James growled spitefully. Cocking his shotgun as he held her at gunpont.

Samantha sniffled as she begrudingly walked back to the gate and climbed over it. She walked back to her car and drove off. She refused to accept that he was married and didn't want her instead.

Sunset looked at James and noticed his muscles tense in anger. So that was why he had never brought her up.

"Ah can understand if yer mad at me fer not telling ya about her." James sadly stated, looking away in shame.

"Sweetie, I'm not mad. I can understand why you wouldn't want to talk about her. I'm so sorry for what she did to you that day. Just because you are different and she can't accept that. It breaks my heart knowing you were hurt that bad." Sunset lovingly crooned, rubbing his arm consolingly,

"Ya helped heal that pain by loving me , wanting ta stay with me knowing yer immortal and willing ta live with that. Ah've never known a woman that loyal." James retorted, kissing her softly for a few minutes before pulling away and walking back into their home with Sunset.

The couple then spent the rest of the day together relaxing and enjoying themselves to their heart's content.

James felt somewhat better about this happening. It felt like a massive burden had been lifted and he felt much better. The painful heavy feeling in his chest releasing.

Soon it was time for everyone to sleep. Their daughter had fallen asleep and was out like a light.

As james closed his eyes he heard Sunset singing softly. Her beautiful and melodic voice making him completely relaxed. He allowed her voice to ease him to sleep.

As sunset finished the song she noticed that James had fallen asleep as she sang. She giggled and kissed his cheek goodnight before snuggling into his arms and fell asleep soon after.

A Mother's Gift: Chapter 8.

Sunset rummaged through an old and dusty box, the grey rectangular object had been opened and she had decided to revisit some old memories.

Sunrise was watching her mother dig through the time capsule, looking back at the old photos, bringing a tear to the former pony-turned-human's eye.

"Mom? Are you ok?" Sunrise asked concerned, hugging her mother in a loving attempt to make her feel better.

Sunset just chuckled and hugged her daughter back. Smiling at how sweet, mature and caring her baby girl had become.

As Sunset neared the end of the box, she grabbed pieces of folded leather and held it in her arms, feeling a wave of pure nostalgia hit her. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she remembered how many times she had worn it in her life. She didn't want to sell it and never see it again, or give it to charity.

There had been rips within that Rarity had sewn up and made it look good as new. She held her eternal thanks to her friend.

"I'm fine sweetie. It's just that this is really nostalgic, and brings back so many memories for me. This jacket, these jeans, dress and boots here is what I wore when I was your age, or at least a few years older. I can see it's shrunk sadly." Sunset answered, clutching the items of clothing tightly to her chest.

"I'm so sorry mom." Sunrise concoled her mother, snuggling up in her arms and trying to make her smile.

"Don't be honey, I think it might fit you actually. Would you like to try it on? I can't think of anyone better to give it to than my sweet little girl." Sunset cooed, ruffling her daughter's hair, eliciting a giggle from the teen.

"Thanks mom, and sure. I guess I'd like to try and see if it fits." Sunrise answered happily.

Sunset unfolded the clothing and helped her daughter undress, helping her into the dress, jeans and combat boots. A perfect fit.

Sunrise looked so much like her mother used to when she wore the jacket, dress, jeans and boots. Not only by the looks, but the jacket and everything else made Sunset smile as if she were seeing a younger version of herself.

Sunset clapped her hands excitedly and zipped up the jacket, makng Sunrise giggle happily.

"It really fits you now, sweetheart. I'd like you to have it." Sunset softly asked, pulling her daughter into a hug. The two stayed like that for a while before breaking apart.

Sunrise took off the old clothes, got dressed into her previous ones and folded them neatly in her arms, looking down at the gifts her mother had given her.

"Thanks mom, I'll cherish it forever, I promise." Sunrise said, hugging the items tightly, making her mother smile.

"You're welcome sweetheart, I'm so proud of you and I always will be. I love you so much." Sunset cooed, hugging her daughter tightly in her embrace.

"I love you too, mom. You're the best." The girl answered happily as she broke out of the warm and cozy embrace. She walked off towards her room as Sunset let out a sigh at the memories stored within the box as she put it back within the attic she had taken it from.

She's so much like me. I'm so proud of her. Sunset thought to herself, giving the time capsule one final glance as she locked it back up.

An old friend: Chapter 9.

The family trio were spending time together in the living room, when a voice popped into James's head. A voice of someone he'd known that had passed long ago.

Charles Xavier.

"Hello, James." Charles spoke softly, a small and happy smile on his face as he rolled into the room in his wheelchair.

Charles had not changed one bit. He was still bald and old just like he was before X-24 had killed him at the Munson's farm.

"Charles? Is that ya?" James asked happily, a small tone of sadness hidden in his voice.

"Of course it's me. I know you saw me die and you must be confused as to how I'm alive and well after that clone of Logan killed me." Charles stated, reading James', Sunset's and Sunrise's minds for anything that they knew of him.

Charles seemed excited by Sunrise, her biology had half mutant and half unknown to him. After being sat down by James and his family, he soon learned of what he had told the woman next to him which was his wife.

"Truth be told James I always thought you'd never date and marry!" Charles exclaimed with surprise as he shook hands with Sunset who smiled at him, James and their daughter.

"Shocker there, right?" James said, grinning happily as Sunset leaned into him.

"Indeed. So if I may ask, is this your daughter James?" He asked happily, glad that the mutant race didn't die like he first thought they did back in Mexico.

"Yep. This is mah sweet baby girl, Sunrise. She has mah claws, healin' abilities, adamantine skeleton, berserker rage and immortality" James said, but whispered the last part to him. James didn't want Sunrise to learn of the pain she would have to go through due to immortality.

"And what about her mother's abilities?" Charles asked excitedly, stunned at how unique James's daughter was.

Sunset explained to the old mutant about her past and her abilities. Needless to say, Charles was shocked and surprised at her story and abilities.

"So you're a princess? Which makes James your prince and Sunrise here your heir?" Charles asked, surprised that James had married someone from royalty.

"Yeah, ah was her friend first, then after we confessed ta one another we began to date. After a few years of datin' we decided ta get married and we eventually wanted kids. Sunrise is proof of that." James said happily, recalling when Sunset had told him she was pregnant with their daughter, and when she was born.

"I must say that I am impressed with her abilities and knowledge on how to use this so called 'magic'." Charles said, impressed with the fact that James was nothing like his father who slept around with a lot of women before meeting Jean and after losing her.

"Thank you, Charles." James said, smiling softly. He had missed having him around. Charles always had a sense of humour for any occasion. Like when he, Logan, Laura and Charles were in the truck heading to North Dakota to get to the mutant children and take them to the border where it would be safe.

"Unfortunately, I must be going now. I need to get back to the mansion to check on the students. Goodness knows what they're up to right now. Hopefully not causing problems for their teachers." Charles said with a hint of sorrow in his voice. He groaned internally at the thought of the students causing problems.

He smiled at the family trio and left back to the X-Jet to get back to the mansion.

"Charles, wait!" James asked. He wanted to apologize to his old teacher. He and Logan had lived with the guilt of Charles's death. Believing it was their fault. Even though it wasn't them who had killed him.

"What's wrong James?" Charles asked worriedly for his ex-student. Noticing the familiar sad look on James's face.

"Charles, I....It wasn't me or Logan who killed you. It wasn't us!" James sobbed as he felt Sunset rub his shoulders soothingly and his daughter hug him.

"I know, James. I know. You don't need to be sorry. It was the clone, neither of you would have any intent to kill me." Charles reassured him as he noticed the forlorn look on his ex-student's face.

"Thank you. Me and Logan have had ta carry that burden with us ever since." James replied, leaning down and hugging his old teacher and friend.

Charles gave them a soft smile and left the building as he wheeled himself to the X-Jet. The aircraft took off and flew back to the mansion.

Charles ya haven't changed one bit. James said to himself, chuckling at Charles's nature.

The family trio spent the rest of the day together, followed by a warm and enjoyable family dinner.

Auntie Laura. Chapter 10.

The family of three were enjoying a relaxing breakfast. James had made pancakes for Sunset and Sunrise. He'd wondered if Equestria was like the pony version of Canada. Both his wife and daughter seemed almost Canadian in personality.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, James walked over to it and opened the door to find Laura standing outside.

"Sunrise, Auntie Laura's here!" James hollered, hoping his daughter would hear him. The statement was ironic. She had super enhanced hearing as he, Laura and Logan did.

Sunrise sped down the stairs as she tightly hugged her aunt.

"Hi, Aunt Laura. It's been a while." Sunrise had looked up to Laura. She'd been a very responsible aunt to Sunrise. She'd helped to raise the girl her entire life. Laura often visited them and also so that she could teach her niece Self-Defense and fighting tactics.

She would often teach the girl using her claws. Unlike what everyone believed, the claws were made of pure bone coated over in Adamantine and Adamantium.

Sunrise let her aunt go. Laura ruffled the girl's hair affectionately as she hugged her brother and her sister-in-law.

"It's good to see you too, kiddo. You've been doing well with your training." Laura smiled affectionately at her niece.

The family of three and Laura sat down at the table for breakfast.

James informed Laura that Charles was now alive once more. Laura had been heartbroken and furious after X-24 had stabbed Charles in the chest with his claws which killed him as he bled out.

After being informed of Charles' location at the newly rebuilt Charles Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, she made a note in her mind that she needed to go and visit him.

After Laura had visited James and Sunset in the hospital when she was born, she vowed she would protect her niece with her life. Being an aunt was such a rewarding experience. Sunrise rarely stayed at Laura's place as they didn't want Sunrise going on any dangerous missions just yet. They also didn't want any enemies of theirs and Laura's to try and capture Sunrise.

Laura had inherited her father's love for motorbikes. She had a black Yamaha Supersport motorcycle with gold streaks.

The family finished their breakfast and cleaned up. Laura taught Sunrise more advanced fighting tactics and moves.

Soon, it was time for Laura to go home. She hugged James, Sunset and Sunrise before she left the house. She hopped on her motorcyle and took off.

The family spent the rest of the day together. Eventually it was time for bed. Sunrise had already fallen asleep and was out like a light. Both husband and wife fell asleep after her in their bed.
