Inside the market showcase at the Everfree city, a group of about 70 people waits in their seats as the host of the show steps up on stage and greets the audience with his microphone.

"Thank you all for coming here to participate in the game!" The host shouts, earning some claps applauds.

"Here's how the game will start out; Before the show, my staff has given each of you a random hidden number. Once you opened it up, make sure to keep it for later as of right now, I'll spin my little machine and it'll pop one golden egg number. When I yell for the number, one of you fine audience guest members must show the same matching number and I'll call for them to come up on stage for the prize."

The host then spins the little cylinder machine around until a golden egg pops out.

"The lucky winner of the show is; NUMBER 63!!!"

A young man shows the same number ball to the host as he notices in the crowd.

"Step right up lucky winner!"

The audience applauded when the young man walks up the steps and stops beside the host.

"Congratulations young lad, what is your name?"

"Ummm. . . E-Emile sir." The young shy boy murmurs.

"Wonderful name, here's the prize just for you."

The host's assistant girl gives the boy a prize, revealing a Pokémon cartridge game.

"You have won a Pokémon Nuzlocke game young man. Now before you head off, let me sum up the basic core rules for you to follow."

"1: Every Pokémon you obtain by catching or befriending must use a nickname if need be to grow more attached to it."

"2: You can only catch a Pokémon you encounter in each areas of land, cave, or water."

"3: If your Pokémon faints in battle, it will die and you either have to release the dead Pokémon or put it in pc before continuing on."

"4: When you are defeated, either by wild or any trainers, you will get a game over."

"5: In order to win the game, you need to defeat each of the gym trainers, elite four, and lastly the champion. You got it all written down?"

The host sees him write notes on his paper before nodding to him.

"Excellent work, now you best run along Emile, I have to get back to work here. Okay my fellow audience, now that we have our first winner, who here wants to keep the show going?"

After winning the prize, Emile heads off home in Canterlot with his bicycle.

Though he did look back in his mind of the host explaining oddly about the game.

"I wonder what the host said about the Pokémon game having a Nuzlocke rules?"

Shrugging, he peddles faster before the cloudy rain pours in soon.

Finally arriving at home, he hooks his bike up in the garage and heads inside the house.

He then takes out his notes and goes over to examine them again.

"Okay, so I just need to follow these simple rules and using the right Pokémon wisely in battle. No matter how much of a difficulty this game is to me."

Nodding his head in determination, he goes into his room and pulls out his 3ds console. Ejecting the used cartridge game and putting in the new Pokémon Nuzlocke one.

Starting the game up, he proceeds to go over the important details and getting his first Pokémon, unaware on what happens next.

Several hours later after inserting the game, Emile's last Pokémon died by the 4th gym leader's toughest team. On the screen it says, "GAME OVER!".

"Ah dammit. . . I was so close to defeating her last Pokémon." He says, sighing.

Emile looks out the window to see it's pouring down outside.

"Well, I better go take a break then."

He shuts his console game off and charges it before getting up for a drink, not knowing his console is glowing red in the middle.

Getting a glass cup, he whistles and pours some water in from the sink.

'I come from the land down under~! Where women blow and men plunder~!' His mind sang.

When a couple of thunders roared outside, Emile felt a sudden pain in his chest, making him drop the glass cup onto the floor and breaking it.

"Gah! O-Oh my god, am I h-having a heart attack?"

His body drops on the floor as he's having trouble of breathing.

"I-I need to c-c-call for h-help."

He slowly crawls over to go get the phone on the table, but did have the strength to get up as his mind starts to feel hazy and vision is blurry.

"M-om, dad, anyon. . ." He mumbles before everything went blank.

~~~~~
"Is this the last load of contestants?"
"Yes sir, a few of them are rounded up and ready for drop."
"Then I'll make the announcement for the grand Nuzlocke tournament."
"B-B-But sir, what about-"
"We'll cover the big cost of our expendable subjects. Speaking of the projects and tests, I'm guessing you still need more time to find the right ones. What'll happen to anyone that defies them?"
"If they are non-cooperative or too weak to interfere, terminate them."
"Alright, then we are at an agreement."
~~~~~

"-ou found anyone alive yet!?"

"I found a survivor, but he's in a bad shape!"

"I'd say we better leave the corpses before those beasts shows up again!"

"I'm not leaving anyone behind and you as well know it so shut the f-"

"N. . . W-wha. . ."

"*gasp*Oh thank Celestia he's alive. Hey, help me lift him up."

"Well we better hurry then luv, I can hear the screeching of them not too far away."

Opening his eyes up, Emile jolted in awake and looks to where he is. He notices that he's alone in some kind of cave, though not remembering of being in this type of cave before.

Calming down, he felt his heart is doing okay when the pain subsided.

He saw some kind of crumbled dirty paper beside him and grabs the paper, opens it up.

Upon looking at the paper, he notices the familiar words the showcase host told him about the Nuzlocke rules, but for some reason these ones are added in this piece of paper.

"1: Every Pokémon you obtain by catching or befriending must use a nickname if need be to grow more attached to it."

"2: You can only catch a Pokémon you encounter in each areas of land, cave, or water."

"3: If your Pokémon is defeated, it will die and you either have to release the corpse or put it in pc before continuing on."

"4: When you are defeated, either by wild or any trainers, you will die horribly."

"5: No items in battles, only held items are allowed."

"6: Legendary Pokémon is fair game to catch, except for no master balls."

"7: Do not use drugs and alcohol."

"8: Allies are allowed in tag team battles against the opponent tag team."

"9: -------------------------------------------------------------------------."

"10: -------------------------------------------------------------------------."

"11: -------------------------------------------------------------------------."

"12: In order to win, you need to defeat each of the gym trainers, elite four, and lastly the great champion of the NHD Realm Region."

'Maybe I shouldn't have won the prize.' He thought.

Emile tries to get up, but grunts when another pain kicked in.

"Easy there, your right leg isn't healed yet."

He heard a soft voice and turns to see two girls at the cave entrance.

The first girl appearance is dresses in blue and white to match her signature Pokémon, Altaria. She has teal blue hair with two large bangs, clipped by a tiara called Mega Tiara that holds her key stone. She wears a sleeveless blue top with a blue ribbon design that exposes her belly button. She wears white shorts that are laced with two large blue and white frills that mimic a skirt. She also wears a pair of diamond-designed anklets around her light blue high-heeled shoes, which make her look like she is somewhat taller than an average person. On her left leg, she wears a blue and white striped stocking. She also wears cotton puffs on her forearms, on the back of her neck, and just above her shoes.

Second one slender, medium height girl with long, straight crimson red hair that is tied up in a high, spiky ponytail with a blue band with a side fringe at the front, and crimson red eyes. She wears a red undershirt with flames, expose her belly and a black tied vest crop top over it. She also has on blue flared jeans with x's down the sides with a white karate belt. Her shoes were colored as black and red.

"Uh h-hi there, I'm Emile. What are your names?"

"The name's Lisia and this is my friend Flannery."

"Cool um, b-by any chance can you uh help me up? I need to see outside of where I am exactly."

"That's okay, you mind helping me Flannery."

"I don't mind at all Lisia."

So the two girls gladly help Emile up and carefully drag him outside in sunrise.

"So uh, how long was I out cold?" He asked.

"I'd say about 5 days from when our group has found you." Flannery answered.

"5 days? Wow, I didn't think I was out for that long. Besides you two, who else is in your group exactly?"

"Well there's Sunset Shimmer and Rainbow Dash who are currently practicing in a Pokémon battle between Chimchar and Turtwig. I'm betting on Sunset's fire Pokémon to win."

Flannery points her finger at the two on the right. The one girl he sees has a mix lava color hair and rock band clothing while the other girl has rainbow hair and in athletic clothing.

"The four other people are off to get more supplies so we're the only ones here and guarding you from the dangerous territories."

"Territories, uh I don't follow on what you mean." He says, confused.

"What I'm explaining to you is there are many uncharted unknown dangers in each areas and some of us got sent here on accident, including you as well. That's why we need to find a way out of here and escape from this so called 'Nuzlocke Realm' filled with lots of crazy people and there Pokémon seeking to flush out the weak."

Both Lisia and Flannery put Emile to sit on a wide wooden log.

"I know this must be a lot to take in Emile, but we all have to stay strong together. Besides, there's no way to contact the outside world since all of us aren't allowed to make any calls. It'll take a small chance of miracle to happen. So for now, we'll let you be alone so that you can decide for yourself on what to do next."

Flannery smiles and pats his back before walking away to watch the practice battle while Lisia sits beside him.

"Ever since Sunset and her group found us, me & Flannery have worked hard to survive. Flannery can be hotheaded sometimes, but she has learned overtime in thinking smart decisions. Though I do worry for her safety and concern when she hasn't spent a lot of time in our group recently."

"You worried that she'll one day leave your group behind?"

"Maybe, but I do hope someone can help her open up a bit to us."

Emile hums, watching the practice battle.

"Speaking of being found, how did end up being on the beach Emile?"

"On the beach? Well, I don't remember that part, but it's kind of a long story to tell."

"Take your time, it's been a while since I haven't gotten a good chat."

While Emile told his long story to Lisia, neither of them were aware of a small Pokémon peeking in under the bushes close by them. It slowly slithers to the two and hides in the open log space, eyeing the two humans in curiosity, including mostly at Emile.
