Prologue: Shrouding Dark Cloud

View Online

The first gate is open. Hurry!

The voice echoed throughout the abyss of cloudy constellations. Several lights gather to form a circular rift as a tall and dark blue alicorn with an ethereal mane set hoof into the cosmos.

Princess Luna entered through her sparkling pathway. She was greeted by a vista of stars and descended into the cloudy night. She was in a realm housing the many dreams of Equestria’s residents as they flowed around her in the form of large spheres.

“That voice…” Princess Luna trailed off as her horn glowed with a faint blue aura. “ I’ve heard it before, I must find the source.”

While she couldn’t necessarily recognize every voice from Equestria. There was definitely something off putting about it. For starters, it was rare for another to be able to enter this domain without her assistance.

The stars separated briefly as several large panels and spheres floated into view, guided by the movements of her magic. There were many dreams to look through as she peered into each one that levitated past her. Occasionally Luna would focus on notable ones she was familiar with.

A dream of a lavender unicorn and blue one having a tearful reunion with a group of ponies at a train station. A muscular purple dragon defeating hordes of beasts in a castle throne room. Luna herself playing cards with a white alicorn with a prismatic mane..

Luna smiled briefly as she searched, her gaze would linger on the next dream. She frowned and felt a sudden chill run down her spine. She could barely make out any images in this one and the view was clouded.

“This is new,” she muttered to herself and settled on this peculiar dream for now.

Her horn glowed brighter and the surrounding spheres were instantly coated in a pink light.

The strange dream Luna focused on was shrouded in blue. It was not from Equestria , she was certain of it. She glanced around at the other dreams and could make out more blue lights present.

“I must inform Celestia.” Luna nodded to herself but first she’d have to look into the origin of that voice. If it was to do with these hidden dreams she couldn’t see through, she’d better start her investigation now.

At this moment another chill ran down her spine and a feeling of dread. It wasn’t long before the source of this revealed itself. The space Luna had occupied was enveloped in a dark mist.

She darted out of the way shaking off the remnants lingering on her hooves. Was it the Pony of shadows? Here in the dream world of all places? Luna didn’t have long to think as a large shadowy claw erupted from its depths reaching towards her.

She gasped and with a spark of her horn , blasted the claw away with a beam of blue light.
It detached from the black mist and melted away. But it wasn’t alone.

Several dark claws tore into the realm, the colours of the world were washed out with a black abyss as each one appeared. Luna took flight into the night sky as they stalked towards her.

In a flash of blue light from her horn the dream spheres scattered among the cosmos. The eternal night of Equestria’s dream world was slowly being enveloped in complete darkness.

Luna observed the situation from above with a stern look, as her horn shined brightly through the creeping darkness. She would never allow the Equestria’s dreams to fall into the clutches of these things.

Thinking fast she conjured up another spell ,her horn blazing while surveying the surroundings and the darkness converged onto her position. It was now only menacing shadows lurking towards her position. They would consume her too if she didn’t repel them. Though as the drew closer her horn dimmed.

It was calling to her and she felt drawn to its embrace. Luna’s magic weakened as did the many lights of the dream world. Her body felt heavy and her eyes drooped.

This feeling was all too familiar to her. She was tired, tired of her sister, tired of Equestria. The ungrateful ponies that never appreciated her beautiful night made her so.

Luna shook her head trying to discard these thoughts. She had not dwelled on those doubts for many many years and she couldn’t give in to them.

Her moment of weakness had cost her time. The stars were gone now and it was just her floating there in complete darkness, all alone. Her tired eyes closed and she began drifting off into the void.

“I’m sorry everyone,” She mumbled as her body faded deeper into the abyss. Memories floating into view, she could still picture those at least. The fear and pain she’d felt and caused throughout her past due to her own weaknesses.

Fear?

What was she afraid of during that time?

Facing her sister?

Becoming Nightmare Moon again?

Had she not forgiven herself for what had happened?

She was no longer the same Princess that had given into these thoughts.

Determined , she would not let fear of all things hold her back. Her eyes opened and she felt an unknown power coursing through her. Her horn glowed brightly, her magic shining with the shape of a crescent moon and illuminating the dark abyss.

Luna no longer feared the darkness. That was in the past.

The half-moon took on another shape, a handle with a crescent blade on the end. As Luna herself pulsated with a brilliant blue light.

The darkness feared her!

Hardly anyone was outside during the cool and quiet night in ponyville , the residents had spent most of the day to winding down from the most recent town party. While most ponies would be asleep at this time a certain purple alicorn was busy getting organized tonight.

“Twilight are you still up?” A smol purple dragon entered the throne room yawning and walked over to the mare he was addressing.

“Of course Spike.” Twilight Sparkle waved a hoof dismissively while seated at her crystallized throne adorned with her cutie mark. “I just need to take care of this real quick.” She had several scrolls and documents floating above her with her magic.

“So was it the punch or are you still worried about Starlight?” He climbed up onto the crystal platform between the thrones and folded his arms.

Twilight rolled her eyes before sighing. “Ok maybe a little bit of both,” She yawned and her horn sparked briefly causing several items to vanish in a flash of light.

“It’s only been a day. I’m sure she’ll be ok.” Spike shrugged and stretched his arms upwards. “We should hit the-”

BANG BANG

There were several loud knocks on the front door and the two looked at each other briefly.

“Are we expecting anyone at this hour?” Twilight asked before getting up and her horn flashed once more causing herself and Spike to vanish just like the documents had before.

They reappeared at the front door which Twilight promptly opened without a second thought. Spike peered outside beside her.

A blond maned and orange earth pony mare was waiting outside for them. She tipped her brown stetson while she waited outside.

“Hey Twi, Ah think you should see this,”

“Applejack? What’s going on?” Twilight asked, blinking at her friend and expecting the worse.

A pink earth pony with a bushy mane was hopping around excitedly and even jumped over a white unicorn with a curly purple mane who was watching the sky as well.

“Oh Pinkie, would you stop bouncing for a moment?” The white unicorn watched her briefly before returning her gaze to whatever was in the sky.

“How can anyone sit still after seeing this Rarity? It’s exciting!” Pinkie stopped briefly before waving to Twilight and Spike.

A yellow pegasus with a pink mane was also present just hovering into view but at the door along with Applejack. Fluttershy too, Twilight thought and walked out to see what was going.

Applejack gestured towards the sky. “I think this might be the biggest star shower we’ve ever seen. “Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash dropped by the barn when it happened.”

Twilight finally noticed what was going on in the night sky. It was adorned with streaking lights as there were dozens of shooting stars! But she was unprepared; she needed to document this! They weren’t expecting another event such as this for another century or so.

“I think we’re a pony short,” Spike chimed in and snapped Twilight out of her brief trance and she glanced around and then to the quiet pegasus who seemed to be shaking worriedly.

“Fluttershy where’s Rainbow?”

“S-she said she saw something suspicious on the way here and would be right back. I couldn’t keep up with her,” Fluttershy sighed.

“Ooh! Ooh! There she is right now!” Pinkie pie cried out excitedly bouncing and pointing to the sky.

Everyone looked up as a rainbow streak rocketed towards their position revealing a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane.

“Everypony get inside now!” She yelled out to them as the starry sky began to take a different turn.

The wind sped up as darker and sinister looking clouds swirled in the sky above them.Twilight felt her hooves leave the ground as an unknown force was pulling them into the air.

“What in tarnation!?” Applejack began floating as Fluttershy grabbed hold of her by the tail trying to pull her down. Pinkie was already holding onto a tree branch due to bouncing too high and Rarity held onto the base of the tree.

“I take it back! This is crazy!” Pinkie yelled.

Spike seemed to be the only one unaffected as he was still ground bound and trying in vain to pull Twilight back down.

As Rainbow Dash closed in, her movements became slower as if being pulled back by a large magnet. The rainbow trail vanished as her momentum halted.

Twilight horn glowed. She needed a spell, any spell would do! But a sudden wave of fatigue rushed through her, her magic faded instantly and the storm grew as if feeding off it.

“I have to…” Her eyelids began to slowly close as the sound of her friends' cries began to drown out. The vision of a determined yet struggling dragon holding her hoof slowly fading away.

Fading away into darkness.

1: A Timeless Town

Wherever Twilight was, it certainly wasn’t ponyville. She was floating among a starry sky, her eyes shut as she drifted along.

She was sleeping and her dreams were full of memories, though a notable one crossed her mind. That fateful night at the old castle ruins, that sense of unity she had with her friends. They had all felt the elements of harmony that night and Twilight could feel their power once again.

In an instant a necklace appeared around her neck, the symbol of the element of magic on the end. Twilight briefly opened her eyes and she was suddenly engulfed in a bright light and disappeared.

Our ‘guests’ have arrived.

Ooh they’re here! It took a while but we managed to get all the pieces in place. Let’s see how they all fair in this glorious game hehehehe~

In a flash of light Twilight appeared above a large city. She was coated in a purple aura as she fell towards the city center, her descent slowing as she floated down among the fluffy clouds.

Twilight slowly opened her eyes and yawned as the clouds whisked past her.

“Spike?” She murmured before her eyes widened and she glanced around quickly.

“Spike!? Girls!?”

The last thing she remembered was being pulled into the sky before losing consciousness. Now all she could see was the bleak rooftops, the grey sky and… the ground?

The aura surrounding Twilight disappeared and she landed right on the pavement. She grumbled and got to her hooves ,dusted herself off and looked around at her surroundings, it was then that she noticed the necklace she was wearing.

She couldn’t remember putting this on before ,had she always had such a thing? She levitated the necklace closer to inspect the Element of Magic emblem and glanced around again.

Everything was a shade of grey in the quiet city. There was nobody around and no distinct colours on the buildings, the street and even the fountain she’d landed next to. She was completely alone.

It was an unsettling silence, she couldn’t hear the wind or any birds chirping. Twilight spread her wings and flew into the sky for a better look.

There has to be somepony around here. Everypony, I hope you’re ok.

She was surprisingly alert due to this uncomfortable atmosphere and determined to get out of this unfamiliar city. Her friends were still out there; she just knew it.

Just then a purple light in the sky caught her eye. It was hard to miss due to the bizarre coloured environment and it was ‘moving’ even.Twilight flew to the rooftops for a better view as the ‘shooting star’ continued over the horizon and stopped at a large tower in the distance.

It looked otherworldly and mechanical ,something out of place in contrast to the modern city.It was as if it was stripped from one of Spike’s comic books for the ‘Power Ponies’.

Twilight pondered whether she’d been sucked into a comic just like in the past.It would explain the strange necklace she had in her possession. Though no matching outfit to go with it.

The purple star settled at the base of the tower and seeing as it was her only lead for now that would have to be her destination. After glancing at her necklace one more time Twilight began her flight to the mysterious tower.

The leisurely sky stroll gave Twilight more time to survey the city as she spotted several long, winding, sloped roads, a plaza and even tramway tracks. However the closer she got to the tower the more out of place it seemed.

The buildings near the base had odd-looking shapes and designs. Some of them were upside down and dome shaped. Could anyone really live here?
The tower itself was very tall and elegant looking. Its peak hidden among the clouds, higher than any structure in Ponyville or even Canterlot.

Twilight touched down at the tower’s base still staring up in awe,she eventually turned her attention to the large door in front of her and the floating ‘star’.

“A card?” She blinked and her horn glowed for a moment as she considered levitating it towards herself but hesitated. Instead she leaned in closer for a better look. It was a purple card and had a white border. The symbol of her cutie mark was on it.

Suspicious as it was, she felt as if it was calling to her, just waiting for her to retrieve it. Twilight frowned for a moment and reached out to the card. Her necklace began glowing just as it touched her hoof and her ears perked up at a sudden noise. She could hear whistling.

“Who’s there?” She jumped slightly and glanced around quickly looking for the source .

Her necklace was no longer glowing as she held the card with her magic now. Twilight was preoccupied with the sound and sudden scenery change.

As the whistling continued, now drawing closer. The grey city began to fill with colour starting with the tower. Like a bucket of paint had dropped from the sky. The once grey and lifeless tower now brimming with a blinding blue. The odd buildings filled with colour as well, as did the pavement, the sky.

“I knew I’d run into you again.” Said a voice.

The whistling stopped as a pony stepped out from a gap between the buildings, his navy blue eyes watching her closely. He had an aqua green coat ,a white mane and was wearing a white neck bandana and a blue fedora. The stallion placed a hoof to his hat and closed his eyes for a moment.

“Again?” Twilight asked puzzled at the unfamiliar pony “Have we met before?”. She noticed he had no cutie mark even but she kept her eyes focused on him.

“No, but you got the drop on me a while ago. Things will be different this time now that I know your tricks.” He opened his eyes again and Twilight could see there was an odd looking badge shaped like a circular cyan grid on his hat. Though now it had started glowing a faint green glow.

Twilight’s eyes widened at the prospect of this stranger attacking her and she quickly prepared a protective spell.

The attacker's ‘spell’ never came however as they were both interrupted by a sudden change in weather. The sky darkened as several large maroon coloured ripples appeared in the sky above them.

“Finally! You show yourself!” A voice cried and it was drowned out by the sounds of screeching bats.

Twilight eeped as a storm of the flying ruby coloured mammals obscured her vision and covered the sky. She couldn’t see the other pony but she was occupied with the odd looking bats. Their wings were replaced with tattoo-like patterns as they flew about.

In a brief flash of purple, a lavender unicorn mare appeared in front of her.She had a darker shade than herself. A black mane with red highlights… but the mane style was just like Twilight’s.

The pony looked just like her but she was levitating a long sword too!

“ME!?” Twilight gasped and took a step back.

Her doppleganger swung the sword in the air. In an instant several bats converged on Twilight’s position.

In a flash they transformed into red chains and before Twilight knew it they had wrapped around her hooves and wings, completely binding her movements. Her magic failed and the card she was levitating fell to the ground and vanished.

“For now… but once I have you I can reclaim what I’ve lost.” The other Twilight grinned showing a set of fangs and pointed the sword directly at her.

2: Awakening at Sundown

View Online

Twilight was captured, her hooves and wings bound by red chains and anchored to the ground. The mysterious and darker unicorn look-alike was watching her closely like a predator sizing up their prey.

“Who are you? Why do you look like me?” Twilight struggled against the chains, they were like weights growing heavier by the minute the more she moved.

“Don’t bother, your powerful spirit will just go to waste.” The other Twilight laughed, ignoring her questions before brandishing the sword with her magic. The remaining bats surrounded them both and darkened the skies as she stepped forward.

“Now I’ll be complete!” She cried out triumphantly with a hungry look in her eyes.

The chains tightened and Twilight’s vision blurred. These chains were making her weaker as her doppelganger drew closer readying her blade. But she had to keep trying; she'd muster whatever magic she had to get out of this.

The sword was thrusted at her and Twilight’s horn sparked. Her necklace suddenly glowed and she felt a surge of power flowing through her. The chains shattered as a wave of magic erupted from Twilight, blowing back the other unicorn into a nearby building with a crash. The bats scattered as a pillar of light shot into the air from her horn.

Twilight was now wearing a purple hooded jacket. Her eyes wide awake and shining as the burst of energy emanated from her body.

The bats flew into a frenzy before converging into a massive wave and swooped in on her but she was ready this time. In an instant she teleported with a flash onto one of the buildings. The wave of bats crashed down onto where she’d been before following her to the rooftops. Twilight leapt towards them firing a large blast of magic from her horn .The bats were engulfed in the purple beam, many falling out of the mass and dissolving without a trace.

Twilight landed and took a deep breath before she stared curiously at the blast impact. It was a lot more powerful than she had intended and the strange bats had disappeared as if they'd been erased by her magic. It was unnatural...

“Now where’s that other me?” She frowned and looked back to where she’d left her adversary.

Said pony was against the wall of an orange building and unconscious. There was a large crack from where Twilight’s magic had knocked her into and her sword lay bent by her side. Her appearance had changed, she still had the fangs but now a pale blue coat, a long straight green mane, plum coloured dress.

Twilight even spotted a crack on her horn and stared at her clothes. However she examined her own attire curiously and tapped her necklace. It really was like one of Spike’s comic books. But if she’d defeated the ‘villain’ she would have been transported back to her own home.

There was a slight rumbling and a large gust of wind blew in through one of the alleyways. A number of strange ruby bats were carried along with it and dissolved. The aqua green stallion wearing the hat from before appeared again glancing around before he blinked at Twilight looking puzzled.

“Oh...hey again.” He glanced at Twilight and then at the mare lying unconscious and then nodded in approval.

“Ah, so you’re the real Twilight Sparkle. Seems I made a mistake, so sorry about that..”

“Mistake!? She didn’t even have wings!” Twilight frowned at the pony and then shook her head. Pointing at the stallion and then at the other pony.

“Alicorns are rare but-” He began but Twilight interrupted him.

“Who are you anyway? And who the heck is she?”

“Noland or Nol for short,” He tipped his hat. “...and that would be Kamella, she’s what you’d call a vampony. Though I see you’ve taken care of her.”

Noland walked over to said pony and punted the broken horn.

“A vampony, seriously!?” Twilight stared at the pony's fangs and then shivered, putting a hoof to her heart.

“I need to get out of here. Wherever this place is anyway.”

She gulped and looked over at Noland as he examined the bent sword and the building damage. She wasn’t sure if she could trust this pony but he didn’t seem hostile as of now.

“I’m looking for my friends. We were sucked into some form of a portal in the sky. Have you seen any other ponies around here?”

Noland glanced back at her and shook his head. He then kicked the sword off into the distance.

“Sounds like you got sucked into a gate and I haven’t seen anyone else besides you and Kamella in this town.”

He then frowned looking up into the sky. As several more of the strange red bats began to appear again. This time they were larger, had bigger fangs and now their tattoo-ed wings were like winged blades.

“Though it’ll be better if we talk later and in a safer location. I need to locate the rest of my guild, so maybe we should work together for now.”

Twilight’s eyes widened as the sky was filled with more screeching. A few bats dived towards Noland but there was a brief flash of green from the badge on his hat. A strong gust of wind blasted them back into the air again with a swing of his hoof.

“Those monsters will come at you out of nowhere. It’ll be safer if you joined the guild as a temporary member.

Noland gestured for her to follow him and levitated a card out of his scarf as more bats swooped in. Twilight appeared next to him in a flash and her horn sparked forming a purple dome of light around the two.

“Well...as long as I can find my friends.”

She nodded to him as several bats bounced harmlessly off her shield.

“Great!”

A glint appeared in Noland’s eye as he tossed the card in front of him. It disappeared in a flash of blue light leaving behind a portal. There was another town on the other side that looked just like the one they were standing in.

Twilight peered into it puzzled, she’d never studied anything about cards forming portals, pendants maybe but-
Noland had already jumped in excitedly so she shrugged and followed after him. Her barrier disappeared and the sound of screeching in the air returned.

“What a waste.”

A masked white unicorn sighed sitting in an equally white room. He was wearing a blue magician's robe, a black top hat with a red brimm and comedy mask with a star drawn over the left eye. He used his magic to levitate a shining crystal ball watching Twilight and Noland exit through a portal.

She was too slow. Twilight Sparkle has already awakened to her new power. We won’t be able to fully complete Shroud without her magic.”

He put a hoof to his lavender mane in thought and the orb disappeared. Another masked unicorn entered the white space but with a purple coat and silver mane. He was levitating a stack of playing cards.

The unicorn greeted the newcomer and chuckled to himself.

“We’ll just have to wing it. Fix him up later with what we have left then.”

The purple unicorn nodded and prepared to leave but the white one waved a hoof.

“Oh...and fetch our little pawn too while you’re at it. Can’t have her ending up with those Tin cans again.”

The portal closed behind Twilight after she jumped in and the card had reappeared. It floated past her towards Noland who whistled before he caught it and turned his attention to a box near a large fountain.

They were in the same city but now the sun had set. The atmosphere was more relaxing rather than unsettling as Twilight glanced around. There were some odd ripples in the sky as if it was the ocean surface. However she felt at ease… for now anyway.

“Where do I even begin? What is this place? And why is there a strange town with a vampony and bats chasing me?” She asked after catching her breath.

“You’re in the Dreamspace, it’s like you entered a dream. But you’re not sleeping, you’re literally in one.”

Noland took another card out of the box, this one with a star symbol on it and levitated it over to Twilight.

“Though right now we’re in a special place a friend of mine created. Think of it like a rest area that those monsters can’t reach. It’s a work in progress.”

Twilight caught the card and frowned a bit at the sight of it. Her cutie mark appeared on it and the card became a shade of lavender. No comic book dimension this time like she had considered if his words were true.

“The dream worlds then?”

“Dream worlds? I guess that’s another term for it,” Noland gave a shrug and then smiled excitedly and nodded to her. “ Welcome to the Starcade Guild! You’re now a temporary member and have access to certain privileges such as the rest area for starters.”

“Er thanks? So what does your guild actually do?” Twilight examined the card briefly and then levitated it into her jacket’s pocket.

“Axl, Glyde and myself were on a rescue mission within the Dreamspace but we got separated upon entry.”

Noland leaned against the fountain and put a hoof to his chin.

“The pony we were looking for is a prisoner in that tower. But going near it causes more monsters to appear and that's how I ran into Kamella.”

“Maybe my friends are there too?” Twilight asked and recalled the card she received at the tower entrance. “The whole town filled with colour once I got close to it. Must be some kind of magic reacting to me atleast.”

“Might be why Kamella was after you. I guess we’ll have to try the tower again.”

“I need to practice too,” She gazed at her necklace for a moment. “ I feel my magic’s stronger than usual. I received a boost of some kind when that vampony attacked me.”

“You came to the right place then,” Noland stretched against the fountain for a moment and then smiled at her. “You can warm up here before we head back.”

Twilight pondered this for a moment and then nodded.

“Well I guess I don’t have much of a choice then.”

Everypony please be safe.

She thought to herself and then turned her attention to Noland.

“By the way I’ve seen you use magic with your hoof but never seen you take off your hat. Are you really a unicorn?”

Noland smiled at her and tapped his hat confidently.

“Yes and no.”

3: Night Hunters

View Online

The nightly and starry sky shined down on another town. In the shadows a pair of red eyes watched a blue scarf wearing black cat near a fountain. A few of the surroundings buildings had neon signs much like Las Pegasus for various shops. An accessory store and and an arcade in the distance. The atmosphere was quiet… at least for now.

The cat glanced around at the sky and nodded in the direction of its watcher before running off. From the shadows a black coated pony sprinted through the streets of the quiet town after it. He was wearing a red scarf and had a darker mane with a single blue streak running through it.

In an instant a swarm of tattoo winged bats descended upon the two and began chasing them. Both cat and pony continued their escape, leading the bats towards another district. It was a wide open space adorned with lampposts lighting up the area like a town centre.

“Ok! Go for it!” The pony called out and leaped onto one of the nearby rooftops with ease. The cat did the same jumping onto a roof on the opposite end and disappeared into another street.

The bats split into two groups , some following the cat while the group following the pony attempted to intercept him. He smiled and reached to his scarf as they closed in on him.

SLASH!
------

Later the cat returned to the town centre frowning a bit as he looked around. The pony arrived as well, landing near one of the lampposts. One end of the scarf acting like an extra appendage held a bright gold hilt guard.

“They were a lot more aggressive than the last ones. We better find the others before we’re overwhelmed,” He rubbed a hoof to his forehead as the hilt guard disappeared into his scarf.

Suddenly there was a howl and strange purple markings appeared on the ground. They were shaped like wolves and before the pony or cat could respond they rose out of the concrete taking the form of pale furred canines, their claws replaced with purple tattoo like patterns.

Meanwhile, a shooting star fell towards the town with a smaller pink light following it before the two combined into one. The now pink star descended over town and in a flash of light Fluttershy appeared and fell through the night sky. Her descent slowed as she was enveloped in a pink aura and floated among the dark town.

Fluttershy blinked awake and instantly the aura disappeared. Luckily she was above a tree but she eeped all the same as she fell through the shrubbery and branches, landing at its base.

Fluttershy rubbed her head and stared up at the tree she’d collided with and then the night sky. While the sky looked the same, the buildings did not.

“Girls?”

Instantly her legs locked up and she shivered with worry. She’d have to find her friends quickly and get out of this spooky town.

“Stay calm, stay calm,” She whispered to herself and noticed she was wearing a yellow ribbon round her neck. There was a symbol of the element of kindness in the centre.

While poking the unfamiliar ribbon curiously, she heard the sound of a cat’s meow.
Her eyes widened briefly before she began sprinting towards the source. To her it sounded like an animal in pain and it took priority over her fears at this moment.

As Fluttershy approached the source, the calm atmosphere was drowned out by howls and metal clashing. She peered out from behind a building to the town centre as the body of a wolf collapsed near her hiding place. There were three other large wolves darting along the ground and swiping with bladed claws at another pony wielding a blade in his maw, another wrapped in his scarf.

She gasped and stepped back a bit. It was a lot brighter here too, so she was able to spot the cat wearing a blue scarf . Its blue eyes staring directly at her amidst the chaos as if it knew she was coming.

However, the cat had stumbled a bit while dodging two wolves leaping towards it. A much larger wolf repelled the blade the pony was swinging with its own clawblades and swung at him. The force of the slash sent a trio of crescent beams that cut across the pavement leaving behind flames towards the pony. He sidestepped the beams as they crashed into the building beside him but his positioning put him further away from the cat.

“Oh My-!”

She ushered out another eep as the cat was backed into a wall now surrounded by two members of the pack, there was an odd feeling about these animals compared to the ones she was familiar with. Though no time to worry about that now. She gathered up what courage she had and leaped forward to catch the cat as the wolves closed in on it. Luckily the cat leapt into her hooves just as a wolf snapped at its previous place but now she was in trouble!

“What the!?” The black pony had just driven his blade through the large wolf’s torso and it instantly faded into a pale wisp after being struck. “ I hope you know what you’re doing! Quit playing around!” He called out and covered his muzzle with his scarf turning his attention to another wolf that had appeared.

A wolf charged at Fluttershy and swiped with its claw blades. She closed her eyes holding the cat close to her as to shield him from the assault and the claws slashed against her legs. It was like a set of knives had cut her and she fell back against a building wall in pain, she felt like screaming but kept the cat held close regardless.

“I-I won’t let them hurt you.” She mumbled as the wolves closed in on her. “I’ll keep them distracted so you can escape. The cat peered up at her, placing a paw on her ribbon and she felt a sudden warmth, the cuts didn’t hurt as much for some reason and her ribbon began to glow.

The two wolves leapt at her and were instantly blinded as she was engulfed in a bright light. One flying straight into a wall. As the light cleared Fluttershy was now wearing a white cat-ear hood and a matching robe with red triangular lining. She still had the ribbon but also a large red hammer! It looked like a toy but had a ring of golden spikes around it. The black cat hopped onto her head and smiled down at her.

“Nice, that’ll make things easier.”

She heard the black pony’s voice and he landed right next to her causing her to jump slightly. He gave a nod of approval to the cat and pulled his scarf away from his muzzle.

His scarf suddenly acted on its own and swung his blade in an arc motion at one of the nearby wolves.

In an instant a crescent shaped beam erupted from the blade and cut right through the wolf causing it to vanish and make Fluttershy eep in surprise.

“You can have the last one.” He gestured towards the remaining wolf .It had just recovered from leaping into the wall beside them and shook its head before growling at them.

“O-oh I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t hurt-” She stared at the wolf as it began advancing towards them and then shook her head worriedly.

She prepared to put the hammer down and the wolf quickly leapt at her. Her eyes suddenly flashed red and she frowned before instinctively swinging the hammer like a baseball bat. The force sent the wolf into the wall yet again but this time knocking it straight into the building with a crash.

Fluttershy blinked and then put her hooves to her muzzle in disbelief while the black pony whistled.

“Nice one! He ain’t coming back from that one~”

He was clearly enjoying himself as he hoof bumped the cat’s paw, said cat smirked back at him. Fluttershy noticed the blade he’d been using vanished into his scarf. Usually she’d be more wary of strange ponies but she was more at ease since the cat was friendly towards him as well.

In fact she was more wary of herself right now. What was this outfit and ribbon? What was that sudden feeling just now she got from swinging that hammer and what were those strange animals that-

“...you doing ok?” The other pony noticed her spacing out and tilted his head to the side watching her curiously. “Names Axl by the way and this little guy is Cipher,”

Fluttershy blinked back at him before smiling nervously.

“Oh, I-I’m Fluttershy,” She felt Cipher rub his head against her hoof and she decided to pet him for now. “I’m fine, just a bit …overwhelmed.”

“Ah, so is this your first time dealing with those sorts of creatures? ”

He peered at her hoof and noticed the cuts.

“We’ll have to talk a bit later. Don’t want more of those monsters' friends catching us by surprise so let’s find some place safer.”

At this moment, Cipher scurried away from Fluttershy’s petting hoof and Axl began to follow after him.

Fluttershy gulped at the thought of more of the wolves appearing and began following the two. She’d atleast found a friendly animal and someone not as scary in this strange place.

Her thoughts were back to worrying about her friends and this strange power she’d felt today.
She winced and rubbed a hoof to where the wolf had slashed at her. It had started to bleed as she started walking but now it felt warmer as she rubbed it.

It wasn’t just warm though, now her hoof was glowing and the cuts were fading. She stopped in her tracks as she noticed this and her eyes became heavy with fatigue.

She swayed a bit before falling to the ground, her vision fading as she heard the faint sounds of meowing.

4: D/D Tower Control

“A dark cloud and a gate huh?”

Noland yawned and tipped his hat down as he leaned against the fountain. He was still with Twilight within the rest area, the relaxing sunset sky still shimmering above them.

“Such a large one appearing in the sky and forcibly transporting you is rare. It’s meant for moving large amounts of land, not specific individuals.”

Twilight nodded to him while making notes with her magic, while also levitating the card she’d been given, as well as floating in the air and even firing off a few explosive sparks into the air like fireworks.

“Well it’s not the first time my friends and I have ended up in situations like these. It’s not something completely unheard of in Equestria.”

She effortlessly conjured up a purple sphere to surround her while still keeping the other activities going. It really was like a dream! Her mind wandered as she considered new possibilities and advances in her magic.

Wait! Like a Dream?

It was just like the incident with the Tantabus. Did the Princesses know what was going on? Whereabouts were her friends? These thoughts caused Twilight to momentarily lose her concentration and suddenly she dropped to the ground with an eep.

Noland stifled a chuckle but he remained composed leaning against the fountain still.

“I didn’t detect anyone else in the town besides you and Kamella. I’m guessing your friends ended up someplace else entirely. Definitely not in this-”

He cut himself off and looked off in the distance briefly.Twilight had recovered from her fall and was busy with her notebook, she then stared at him curiously.

The pony(?) was frowning now as if he’d seen something concerning, she was about to ask what was bothering him when she felt a sudden shiver. It was an odd feeling; it felt familiar yet abnormal. It felt like…

“...Magic” She muttered and looked off in the distance where she was sure it was coming from.

Noland blinked and looked back at Twilight puzzled as she began staring as well.

“You can feel it too?”

Yea…and I think it’s coming from that tower.”

Something big was definitely brewing at the tower. The tall structure was emitting a dim glow like a lighthouse in a vast fog. In the sky above, dark clouds began to stir as the roof opened up.

"Reactor 2, output normal."

A voice called out and a hooded unicorn wearing a pale white cloak materialized onto the tower, she was accompanied by a pair of humanoid and futuristic looking machines. They were much taller than the pony and had a slim torso as well as hook-like feet. An arm guard on one hand and a cannon on the other.

The robots positioned themselves on separate parts of the now opened roof while more joined them.

"Adjust the balancer to ...0003!"

Several robots emitted a surge of electricity and a large grey infinity symbol appeared in the dark clouds above the tower.

“Raise the power!"

The flooring of the roof gave way and revealed a large orb of light. More power flowed into the symbol in the sky and the clouds swirled in motion.

"Check reactor source. 1, 2, 3, OK!!"

"Release the energy, code infinity!!"

The whole tower glowed with energy, the dark clouds, the orb and robots producing large amounts of electricity. The unicorn held her hooves up high towards the sky.

“Open the gate!” She cried out and the infinity symbol in the sky began to spin at an unbelievable speed. A swirl of grey energy transforming into…pink?

“What the!? I-impossible…” The unicorn stepped back and instantly slammed her hoof into the ground producing a field of energy around her.

The now pink symbol shattered and the orb on the rooftop unleashed a burst of energy knocking all the robots off the tower, causing them to plummet into the town below. The top of the tower was destroyed in the blast leaving only the hooded unicorn within her forcefield standing.

After dropping the forcefield there was yet another surprise. A blue comet fell through the sky and crashed into the tower. This time knocking the unicorn off as well!

“...scrap,” She muttered to herself as she fell from the tower.

The blue comet had caused more destruction upon entry. It had crashed through several floors only stopping after going through one reinforced with a thick wall. Upon arrival the light from the comet faded revealing a sleepy Pinkie Pie, she was resting her head on a fluffy blue pillow which suddenly faded leaving behind a blue button which was instantly entangled in her bushy mane.

The cold floor disturbed Pinkie’s slumber causing her to yawn and rub her eyes.

“I could really go for some cupcakes or a better bed,” She suddenly gasped at where she was and quickly stood up.

“HUH!? What kind of bedroom is this?”

The room she’d crashed into was plain and empty besides the insanely large red/blue diamond in the center. Her eyes lit up excitedly as she skipped over for a closer inspection. It was shiny and ominous like a special rainbow ice cream they’d sell in Cloudsdale. She knew exactly what to do!

Eyes sparkling with curiosity, she reached out a hoof and gently poked the diamond. It shimmered brightly with its inviting aura and she felt a rush of energy like she had just eaten sugar or had powered up like that time with Tirek.

This feeling didn’t last long however as the diamond shattered into sparkly pieces, Pinkie shielded her eyes briefly and surprisingly an aqua green unicorn fell to the ground in front of her. The pony had a pink mane and was wearing a pair of golden goggles with orange lenses as well as a gold and red lined white jacket.

“Ya visit a new place and suddenly you’re public enemy number one,” He mumbled before dizzily looking up at Pinkie Pie.

“Nice hat by the way,”

Surprisingly, Pinkie of all ponies was speechless at what she’d just witnessed before she shook her head quickly.

“Hat? I’m not wearing any…” Though it turns out she was suddenly wearing a blue wooly hat with a matching hooded jacket now. The symbol of laughter for a zipper as well.

“Oh…I guess I am. I hadn’t noticed!”

She had no idea when the clothes appeared but she trotted in place excitedly and poked at her new zipper and even poked the end of the hat curiously before turning her attention to the flopped pony.

“Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie! Nice to meet ya~” She chimed. “ What were you doing in that diamond? And in this room”

Pinkie quickly glanced around the room and then at the huge gaping hole in the wall she’d crashed through.

The pony steadily got to his hooves and moved his goggles up to his forehead revealing a red right eye and a green left one.

They stuck me in here, I guess I’m famous,” He poked his tongue out mockingly and gestured to the trio of robots that were now watching from the open door. Cannons raised and pointed at the two ponies.

TARGET SIGHTED

5: Hostile Reception

View Online

“Yikes!”

Pinkie quickly bounced to the side as a laser zipped past her and left a burn mark in the wall. Her tail was constantly twitching now as she evaded more fire from the robot’s cannons. She scurried all over the room dodging laserfire while the aqua green unicorn sped over to the wall Pinkie had crashed into.

“Time to go!” The unicorn gestured to her to follow him before leaping through.

Moments later Pinkie followed while wondering what had even caused the destruction of the wall. She assumed it was a cannon and as the thought crossed her mind she felt a tickling sensation under her hat.

“This place is crazy. How’d I even get here?” She chuckled a bit while running.

She had a good look around while following the unicorn. The sciencey yet dreary looking light blue hallways and doors, strange symbols, no windows and robots… It was like a prison! A future prison!

“I’m in the future!” She cried out matter of factly and the unicorn came to a halt at a dead end and Pinkie bumped into him.

“The Future? More like ‘Dark Future’,” He laughed and bopped his hoof against the wall.

“This is a Mekkforce base after all. But you knew that didn’t you? I mean you did come here to break me out of here right?”

Pinkie had no idea what a Mekkforce was but she blinked at him and then shook her head. Even adding in a light shrug.

“Nope, I just woke up here after my friends and I were pulled into the sky. So what’s your name? We can have a big dark future party once I round up everypony~”

The pony stared back at her wide eyed and then laughed nervously.

“I’m Flux… and I think we’re done for.” He gestured to Pinkie to back up against the wall as the trio of robots had finally caught up with them. They were cornered.

Pinkie noticed the change in tone and frowned about it. She placed a hoof on Flux’s shoulder and nodded to him.

“Don’t worry I have just the thing.”

She could always use the party cannon, a few well placed pies to the face could give them some time to escape. Luckily the robots hadn’t raised their weapons just yet so she’d have to act fast.

Instinctively she pulled out the cannon from her hat. Which was strange since she usually remembered keeping it in her tail. She paused for a moment confused, as was Flux as he wondered how she had a cannon in the first place. Regardless she fired anyway expecting a barrage of cream pies as the robots raised their cannons.

However a large pink bowling ball shot out instead and rocketed towards the trio of robots. It blasted through them as if they were metal pins, clearing a path down the corridor and crashing off in the distance.

“Special deliv- Oh… STRIKE!” Pinkie cried out excitedly after a pause.

She gasped in amazement and peered at her cannon curiously. Flux clapped his hooves together gratefully and glanced at the wall they’d been backed into.

“Where’d that come from? I don’t remember stocking up on that kind of ammunition.”

“This could work out for us. Try aiming at the wall and I’ll give ya a boost.”

“Huh?”

Flux’s horn had already started glowing and he enveloped Pinkie in a red/blue aura.

Something was going on around the tower. The bats had returned, there were thunderous clouds in the sky and there was a large crater at the base. Twilight and Noland were out of view and surveying the tower from a building nearby.

Large swarms of the strange bats had flown from all over to this very place and the spike in magic activity had convinced the two ponies to investigate after leaving the rest area.

“They don’t seem interested in us now,” Twilight wondered as another wave of bats flew overhead.

She wanted to examine the tower closely but she could feel a gloomy and familiar presence lurking nearby. She wouldn’t let them get the jump on her again.

“Now we know what kind of bait they chase. They’re drawn to the energy that the tower is giving off. Which is the same dream energy that was present when you were fighting Kamella…with a twist.”
Twilight peered out from the building they were hiding behind after some more bats flew past and then glanced back at Noland confused.

Just then a bolt of lightning struck the area around the tower and Twilight’s attention returned.

“She came out of hiding,” Twilight remarked and spotted Kamella once again.

Though this time she had a new blood-red sword with her as she leapt through the air dodging another bolt. She was wearing the same plum coloured dress and had her pale blue coat which Twilight was… in a strange way relieved to see. No more cases of mistaken identity hopefully.

Another bolt of lighting streaked past and blasted through a nearby building and Twilight peered ahead looking for the source.

It was another pony but she was wearing a pale white hooded cloak and brandishing a white sword that was sending the lightning everywhere. While several stray bolts destroyed the bats that flew too close it seemed they couldn’t hit her intended mark. Kamella was too quick for her.

“I just knew you lesser beings would be the cause of this.” The hooded pony moved swiftly and closed the distance between herself and Kamella and swung her sword at her.

“Soulless puppet, like you could ever understand.” Kamella blocked the sword with her own and the clashing of blades caused more lightning to travel in all directions.

While the two fought, Twilight wondered what to make of the situation. She was wary of Kamella but had no idea who this other pony was.

“Do you recognize that pony?” She looked back at Noland who was watching the tower rather than the duel.

“The attire tells me that she’s bad news as well. We should let them take eachother out and then try the t-”

*BLAM*

There was suddenly a large pink explosion from the tower and a scream from above. The cloaked pony and Kamella broke away from their clash and jumped back ,both wondering what the commotion was,

“Too much!” A familiar voice cried out and Twilight looked up to see a certain pink pony and an unfamiliar aqua green pony falling from the sky.

“P-Pinkie!?” Twilight’s eyes widened at the sight of the two. She was both relieved to see atleast one of her friends but not relieved to see her plummeting to her demise!

Without hesitation she sprung into action and took off from the hiding place with Noland following behind her. Twilight flew into the sky as Noland rushed towards Kamella and the cloaked pony.

“I’ll keep ‘em busy. Just get your friend!” He called and in a flash of purple he fired his own set of lightning bolts at the two sword wielding ponies and they turned their attention to him.

Twilight teleported high into the sky and then continued flying above and blasting away any bats that stood in her path until she was level with Pinkie and Flux.

“Hi Twilight! Nice weather we’re having don'tcha’ think?” She laughed with tears in her eyes due to the speed of the air striking her eyes as they fell. She was holding onto the party cannon with Flux.

“That’s if you like storms!” Flux retorted but he couldn’t help but chuckle and waved to Twilight all the same.

Twilight rolled her eyes at her friend’s silliness and her horn sparked as she used her magic to levitate the two ponies and hopefully slow their descent. All three were covered in a lavender aura and they gently floated down towards the base of the tower.

“Am I glad to see you Pinkie,” Twilight sighed gratefully but kept her magic going as they floated.

“Me too! And thanks for saving us!” Pinkie smiled in return and her party cannon suddenly disappeared as she pulled Flux over.

“This is Flux, he was being chased by robots!”

“Hey~”

“Err hiya?” Twilight blinked at the two of them. “So we have vamponies and robots now? What’s next?”

“BATS!” Pinkie cried out as a horde of them swooped in at the trio.

Acting fast Twilight teleported the three to the ground and luckily they were close enough that they landed softly in a large crater that was near the tower.

“I think I’m getting the hang of this,” Twilight smiled and quickly looked herself over. “My magic hasn’t been the same ever since I touched that card.”

“Same with the party cannon.” Pinkie added as she dusted herself. “Maybe it’s because of these weird clothes.”

Twilight glanced at her friend’s attire wondering how the explosion happened as Flux peeked out from the large crater they’d landed in.

“Ya think those bats are still around?”

“No but I’m still here.” Said a voice and the cloaked pony appeared in front of him. She threw off her hood revealing an equal pale white coat, dark green mane and a metallic eyepatch covering one of her red eyes.

Flux fell back into the crater in surprise as the pony brandished her sword. Twilight looked up at her, the red in the strange unicorn’s eyes were surprisingly cold and she couldn’t sense any magic from her like she could with Flux or even Kamella.

“Alloy again huh? This is getting really old now.” Flux frowned and pulled his goggles over his eyes and readied his stance.

“That’s something we can both agree on. Now if you’d be so kind as to return to your cell and power the circuit,” She remarked and her sword emitted green sparks as she stared at him. “It doesn't matter whether you’re conscious or not.”

Twilight and Pinkie both frowned ,the latter readying her party cannon as Alloy stepped down into the crater towards the three ponies.

“Well well, nice of you to show up. My bats are hungry.”

Kamella was currently fighting Noland, she waved her sword like a conductor's baton and guided an army of bats at him. They once again filled the sky with shrieks above the two like a sea of red wings.

“...and thank you for bringing Twilight Sparkle back to me. I’ll attend to her once I’ve dealt with you and that ugly puppet.” She smiled sweetly as she pointed the sword directly at him.

Noland tapped a hoof to his hat as the bats closed in on him.His hoof giving off a green aura as the wind in the surroundings picked up speed.

I’m hungry for some payback and you should have stuck with your old look.” He casually punched the air causing gusts of wind to converge into a tornado that swept up the bats and cleared the skies once more.

Kamella gave him a cold stare but then gasped as she was pulled into the tornado along with the bats. Noland watched as the winds continued down the streets as more of them were sucked into it.

That was almost too easy.

Meanwhile this was all too weird for Twilight.

Transporting Gates,Vamponies and now Roboponies? Everything about this cloaked eyepatched pony was cold and empty. The stare and even the air around her felt lifeless. Though she was set on her goals, that was the only pony thing about her that Twilight could deduce as she blocked a bolt of lighting sent from Alloy’s sword.

It wasn't even magic her assailant was using. This was turning out to be another bizarre adventure they’ve gotten themselves into.

Pinkie and Flux used this opportunity to leap out of the crater. Flux looked for something solid to take cover behind while Pinkie bounced up to the roof of the nearest building with surprising ease. She felt right at home in this world it seemed.

For now Twilight had driven Alloy back and away from Flux using mostly shields and barriers. Pinkie meanwhile…

“Where’d ya think we ended up this time Twi?”

“Focus Pinkie!”

Twilight cried out as she blocked an incoming sword swung by Alloy with her magic barrier and leapt back to distance herself from said pony.

Before Alloy would resume her pursuit she quickly turned and slashed a bowling ball flying at her from behind. The pieces flew off into the distance with an explosion scattering several bats.

“I am focused. I’ve still got her in my sights!”

Pinkie was now leaning on her party cannon on a nearby building. Though she swiftly bounced out of the way onto another as various lightning bolts heading towards her from yet another sword swung by an annoyed Alloy.

“You can talk more after we deal with this crazy- !” Flux ducked behind a table as a streak of lightning shot past him. He had taken cover in an outdoor store, relieved that he wasn’t dealing with her alone.

“You’re like insects” Alloy growled and briefly turned to deal with Flux but another bowling ball fired at her causing her to leap into the air to avoid it. “Scurrying around in groups.”

However as she jumped a purple coloured wall appeared above her, courtesy of Twilight. She slammed headfirst into it and staggered backwards after landing on the ground.

“NOW!” Flux yelled out and jumped from his hiding place. Twilight and Pinkie were suddenly enveloped in a red and blue aura.

Twilight felt a sudden rush of energy and without hesitating, fired a magic beam from her horn at Alloy. At the same time Pinkie launched another bowling ball from her cannon.

There was a blast of pink and purple as the attacks met their mark and sent Alloy flying into the air. She sailed far off into the distance and above the rooftops as if she was a cannonball.

Flux pumped his hooves into the air triumphantly as he watched her fly off and Pinkie launched a few fireworks out of the party cannon in celebration.

Twilight sighed briefly and looked to her hoof as the aura faded. It had felt like a tingly sensation not only a boost in power but in confidence as well. However this quickly faded and she yelped at the sight of a set of broken mechanical hooves crashing to the ground nearby.

“...and that’s game!” Flux laughed excitedly and walked past Alloy’s broken remains. “That is until she gets a new body. Maybe she’ll have whiptail next time.”

Twilight stared at him in disbelief and then groaned.

“Well atleast one of us is enjoying ourselves.”

“I know I am!” Pinkie chimed in as she balanced on the party cannon with only her forelegs as it rolled in next to Twilight. Who gave her a peculiar look wondering why the previous power boost didn’t make her curious as well.

“Let’s just find Noland and get out of here before she comes back.” Twilight shook her head and then looked around briefly. There were only a few bats left behind but they were keeping their distance high up in the sky.

“We did leave him alone with that vampony.”

The mere mention of ‘vampony’ caused Flux to suddenly shiver which Twilight took note of.

“Is everyone doing okay?”

Noland made his presence known as he walked in beside Flux, causing him to jump.

“We’re just peachy!” Pinkie giggled as Flux landed near her and she offered him a cupcake.

“Oh you’re the client. Nice meetin’ ya.” Noland nodded in Flux’s direction though his expression saddened. “By yourself too. This is bad…”

Twilight observed the remaining bats watching from building rooftops and frowned. These ones seemed different despite looking the same, she could actually sense some magic from them which was probably a bad sign.

“For now… I don’t think we’re out of the woods yet. We should probably head back to that safe spot before-”

“Going so soon?” A familiar voice echoed from above causing a shiver to run up Twilight’s spine.

“Oh no…” She gulped and looked up for the source to see Kamella yet again.

Though she was a complete mess, wilder mane and a torn dress accompanied with a manic smile and even tattoo-styled bat wings. As she stared down at the four ponies, her bats circled the skies above her.

Flux fell backwards while staring up at Kamella and shivering all over as Pinkie gasped and aimed the party cannon upwards. The sky was filled with bats now, making it difficult for a clear shot.

Noland seemed nonplussed, his badge glowing green as he stared up at Kamella.

“Back again? I’ll send you into the stratosphere this time.”

Kamella laughed as her bats combined into something much larger , in a brief flash a larger more monstrous bat took shape above them. It had golden fur and even the flapping of its wings began to rock the surrounding buildings with the air currents.

“Not this time! I’ll be taking each of your souls!”

As she spoke, dark pools of darkness suddenly appeared around them and her laughter ceased. Her expression changing to a look of panic.

“N-no, they’re mine!”

“Those aren’t gates.” Noland gasped and took a step back as one appeared behind Flux and grew in size.

They were popping up everywhere, the walls and even the sky. Pinkie backed into Twilight cautiously, there was an uneasy feeling in the air right now.

With one flap of its wings the giant bat conjured up several smaller tornadoes of its own. The gusts of wind tore apart the nearby buildings, sending debris everywhere as they ushered towards Twilight and her friends. Whatever fell into the pools instantly vanished even the tornadoes.

The monster dived at them and Twilight readied a spell however-

SLASH

-in an instant the giant bat was cut clean in two, it roared before fading out of existence. The force of the attack rocked the air around them, making Kamella lose her footing on the building she'd been standing on.

The tornadoes instantly vanished and a dark blue hooded figure landed nearby wielding a matching scythe-like beam of energy. The figure looked directly at Twilight and Pinkie Pie.

Twilight was completely puzzled, everything was happening so fast. She looked back at the newcomer and then at Kamella.

“Who-”

She never finished her sentence however as the ground beneath her gave way, a dark blue portal had appeared below her suddenly. It wasn’t like the other pools of darkness but before she could act she was already falling.

“Twilight!”

Pinkie had tried to grab Twilight by the tail but the portal expanded now drawing her in as well. In an instant the two disappeared into it.
