> Duel Monsters Are Magic 5ds > by snivygamer97 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Turbo Duel Acceleration! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It all started with plans to visit Jaden and his friends, seeing how they were doing ever since their graduation from Duel Academy. According to Yubel, everyone was doing fine, but they wanted to go and make sure that there weren't any life threatening situations going on. The Mane 6 and Spike were ready to head to out to the Duel Monsters Dimension, as Pinkie Pie called it. They had gotten their decks together, finished all necessary work for the day, and were ready to leave. “Okay guys. We should check carefully to make sure we have everything we need before we head back to see Jaden and the others,” Twilight interrupted everyone’s conversations with each other. “We have our decks and Duel Disks, right?” “Yeah we have them, Twilight. I don’t know why you have to ask. We’ve had them ready to go ever since Nightshroud invaded Duel Academy,” Rainbow Dash said, annoyed with Twilight’s OCD involving being ready. “Yeah, Twilight. I understand your concerns, sugarcube, but I don’t think it’s all that necessary. We’re just going to be in and out fairly quickly. It’s unlikely there will be any additional threats to worry about,” Applejack tried to calm down Twilight. “I agree with Applejack, darling. We’ve been ready to go back for a month now. I just hope everyone has been wearing the outfits I made for them,” Rarity said. “Yeah. We can have a really fun party with them too. I can’t wait!” Pinkie Pie was excited to return to see everyone again. “Yeah. I hope Pharaoh is doing fine. It’s been a while since we’ve seen him,” Fluttershy timidly added on.  “Well, I guess we’re ready to go. Spike, the Dimensional Scissors, please,” Twilight ordered her number one assistant.  “Right here, Twilight. Hopefully we’ll all have a great time with Jaden and the others,” Spike wished them all luck.  “Thanks. We’ll try,” Twilight responded as she used the scissors to open a portal. “See you in a little bit, Spike.” However, right before the group could walk through the portal, it was surrounded by a dark outline. Following this, the Mane 6 and Spike were sucked into the portal before they could escape.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suddenly, a vortex opened close to the Daimon Area, with Twilight Sparkle exiting out of the vortex. “Whoa, where am I? Where is everyone?” Twilight wondered aloud as she noticed that none of her friends were present. She looked around at her surroundings and saw many tall buildings as well as an area where she could see many people Dueling. “Looks like we’re in the Duel Monster’s Dimension, but where?” She continued to look around until she saw a young man with red hair walk into the Daimon Area. “Hey. Excuse me, but would you mind telling me where I am at?” The man responded, “So, you’re lost I see. Well then, you’re in the Daimon Area of Neo Domino City. People come here looking for a good Duel without being sent to Satellite. The worst of the worst usually hang out here.” The man then walked into the square, leaving Twilight to ponder over what she just heard. So, she was at least some distance into the future, given the name of the city she was in. The only question was how far into the future was she? Before she could ponder about this any further, she realized that she was close to a criminal sector of the city and that she should probably leave. However, before she could leave, a strange feeling of familiarity entered her head that she couldn’t explain. It may be risky, but she decided to check this area to see if any of her friends could have ended up here. When Twilight entered this sector, she saw many people with yellow marks, mostly males, watching a Duel. Of particular note, she noticed a man with spiky blue hair with a thin yellow mark on his face. He was busy Dueling a man that looked a lot like the guy called Joey Wheeler, with some people disputing if his name was Jesse or Thunder. She was about to cautiously ask if either of them had seen her friends when the Duel continued.  “Next, I activate the spell card Cost Down! This card lets me discard one card from my hand in order to summon monsters with one less tribute depending on their level. This means that no sacrifices are needed to summon Ushi Oni (2150)!” The blue haired man cried out.  Before he could continue his move, Twilight, noticing his hand containing Giant Ushi Oni and Dark Hole, and his opponent controlling Dark Catapulter in Defense Mode (1500), then commented, “You know, you could have easily gained a lead if you played Dark Hole before you summoned Ushi Oni.” The blue haired man looked away from the Duel for a moment to look at Twilight, giving her an angry glare. “Well, now that that interruption is over, I now tribute Ushi Oni in order to play Giant Ushi Oni (2600)!” A giant bull spider hybrid was summoned to the blue haired man’s field. “Now, Giant Ushi Oni, attack his Dark Catapulter!” Dark Catapulter was destroyed in an instant. “Now, thanks to Giant Ushi Oni’s special ability, I can now wage a second attack on your Life Points! Now, Giant Ushi Oni, attack his Life Points directly!” Giant Ushi Oni delivered a direct attack, lowering his opponent’s Life Points from 1500 to 0. “Aw, yeah! Who is the best Duelist in the area? That’s right. Me!” “Well, technically I may be just the slightest bit better than you. Also, my friend Rainbow Dash may give you a run for your money,” Twilight interrupted the blue haired man’s gloating, much to his anger. “Um, excuse me, but who are you?” the blue haired man asked with bitterness in his tone. “Oh, my name is Twilight Sparkle. And I’m a graduate from Duel Academy. I was one of the best Duelists of my year,” Twilight explained, not liking how the man’s eyes narrowed in anger the more she spoke. “Well, my name is Bolt Tanner, though I’m usually called Tanner. So, you claim to be a great Duelist. Well, why don’t we find out how good you are in a Duel,” Tanner said. “Well, I would but I’m looking for my friends and I see that they’re not here. So, I think that I’ll just be going now,” Twilight tried to back away only for some other Duelists to block off her escape. “I’m afraid that you are not going anywhere until you finish our Duel. So go ahead and get your Deck and Duel Disk ready. It’s time to see who’s the best,” Tanner said as he prepared his Duel Disk. “Um, okay,” Twilight nervously placed her Deck into her Duel Disk and her Duel Disk shuffled her Deck.  “Hold on,” another distorted female voice said. Everyone turned to see that there was a cloaked figure in the Damian Area, wearing a white mask and sporting red hair. “I’ve decided that you, Tanner, are in need of some challenge. So, I’ve decided to give it to you. I’ll Duel with Twilight, and we’ll share Life Points. So, do we have a deal? I can’t wait to see you squirm as you face my wrath!” Everyone present, except for Twilight, the red haired man, and Tanner, seemed to be scared and muttered about a “Black Rose Witch,” shocked that she was apparently real and not a myth. “I accept. Let’s see what the two of you are made of,” Tanner said. “Let’s Duel!” All three Duelists cried out. “I’ll start things off. I summon Jirai Gumo in Attack Mode (2200)! And I’ll also play two cards facedown for later. Now, let’s see what you’ve got Twiley,” Tanner egged his opponent on. “Well then, it’s my turn. I draw. I activate the spell card Dark Magic Curtain. Now, by paying half of my Life Points, I can summon a Dark Magician from my Deck at the cost of not being able to summon another monster this turn (2500),” Twilight said. “Next, I play the spell card Dark Magic Attack, which destroys all of my opponent’s spells and traps if I control a Dark Magician.” Dark Magic blasts hit  and destroyed the two facedowns, which were revealed to be Mirror Force and Trap Hole. “Now, attack and destroy his Jirai Gumo. Dark Magic Attack!” Dark Magician attacked and destroyed the massive spider. Twilight/Black Rose Witch 2000 Bolt Tanner 3700 To everyone's shock, the attack caused a scratch to form on Tanner’s face. “I’ll end my turn with two facedowns. It’s your move, Tanner,” Twilight said as she ended her turn. “What just happened? Attacks during a Duel shouldn’t be real. I don’t know how you did this, but I’ll still win. Though, I will admit that you aren’t that bad. I activate Monster Reborn to bring back my Jirai Gumo. Next, I tribute my Jirai Gumo in order to summon Ushi Oni in Attack Mode (2150)! But he won’t be here for long, because I tribute him in order to summon Giant Ushi Oni (2600)! Now, let’s finish this. Giant Ushi Oni, attack her Dark Magician!” “I activate my trap card Negate Attack! This cancels your attack and ends the battle phase,” Twilight explained. “So, you do have some skill. Congratulations. However, you won’t last much longer. I end my turn,” Tanner said. “Well, then it’s my move. I draw. I have to thank my friend Twilight here for eliminating your traps. Now I can put an end to this Duel. I plan to enjoy my success and your destruction. I summon Twilight Rose Knight (1000). But he won’t be here for long, because I activate his special ability in order to summon Botanical Lion in Attack Mode (1600). Botanical Lion’s Attack Points increase by 300 for each plant monster on the field (1900). Now I’ll tune my Twilight Rose Knight with my Botanical Lion in order to Synchro Summon Black Rose Dragon (2400)!” The mysterious figure said as she summoned a rose petal dragon onto the duo’s field. “T-that monster. That’s Rarity’s card. What are you doing with that card?” Twilight questioned the figure. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ve owned this card for as long as I can remember. Now, by removing a plant-type monster in my graveyard from play, I can reduce your Giant Ushi Oni’s Attack Points to 0. Next, I’ll attack your monster with Dark Magician!” Twilight/Black Rose Witch 2000 Bolt Tanner 1200 “That attack. It felt real too, but stronger. Who are you two?” Tanner asked the duo. “That is of no importance. All you need to know is that victory shall be ours. Black Rose Dragon, attack his Life Points directly!” Said dragon’s vines striked Bolt Tanner, causing him quite a bit of pain in the process. As Tanner’s Life Points hit 0, he fell to the ground in pain. “Ugh, you two! I have something to say to you!” Tanner yelled as he struggled to get up. However, before he could say anything, Sector Security suddenly arrived and approached Tanner, with everyone in the area starting to run before they could get caught too. “Bolt Tanner, you’re under arrest for being a part of illegal underground Duels. Come with us, Tanner,” One of the members of Sector Security said as two of the members started to drag him off. “Wait! How did you find me? I was laying low!” Tanner yelled, outraged at his arrest. “Well, we got an anonymous call from a concerned citizen. We’d thank them, but they likely already left the area. Now, let’s go Tanner,” another member of Sector Security said. Twilight, meanwhile, was unsure of what to do. As she tried to leave the area, she was approached by the red haired man from earlier. “Hey, you. You’re a psychic Duelist, aren’t you?” Twilight nervously asked, “Um, I don’t know?”  “Well, don’t worry. We know of a good place for you to go to as a psychic Duelist. Come with us,” the red haired man said as he turned to walk away. Left without many options, Twilight followed after the man and the Black Rose figure rather than stay and get caught. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Here we are. The Arcadia Movement’s headquarters,” the red haired man gestured toward the building in front of him. “This can be your new home. Most of society has rejected psychic Duelists. They see them as monsters, freaks, and a bunch of other negative connotations. But don’t worry. This can be your new home.” “B-but… I already have a home. I need to find my friends,” Twilight said. “In that case, at least allow us to give you a place to stay. We’ll give you a room to stay in. You seem to be a particularly strong psychic Duelist, too,” the man said. “Don’t worry. Sayer will take care of you. After all, he has done all he can to help me,” the red haired woman known as the Black Rose Witch said. “By the way, my name is Akiza Izinski.” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suddenly, Rainbow Dash and Spike found themselves in a city surrounded by buildings that looked destroyed or at least damaged. Everything looked poor in quality from the buildings to the ground. “W-Where are we? This doesn’t look like anywhere I saw in Domino City,” Rainbow Dash asked, trying to hide her fear. “I don’t know. What I can tell is that this place looks like a warzone,” Spike responded. “What do you think happened here to cause such damage?” “I’m not sure. Maybe a threat like Nightshroud or some earthquake?” Rainbow suggested. “Well, either way, let’s look around. Maybe there is a survivor that can tell us what happened,” Spike suggested back, to which Rainbow nodded in agreement.  Eventually, they found themselves underground, with the sky visible through the cracks up above. After some time, they found themselves in a room where three males were standing around a computer screen. “So, what are you guys watching?” Rainbow Dash asked the trio. At this, the trio panicked, not expecting this random visitor to show up at their hideaway. “Nothing!” a man with brown hair and somewhat bulky tried to deny. “What are you doing here? Don’t you know that this is our space? Are you here to steal it from us?” A man wearing a bandanna questioned. “Um, no. I was just wandering around and wanted to know where I was,” Rainbow Dash responded. “Well, you see-,” the bulky man started. “You know exactly where we are! We are in the underground part of Satellite!” The bandanna-wearing man responded. “Um, what is Satellite?” Spike asked. At this, the entire group was floored. They did not expect to hear someone not know where they were while in Satellite. “Satellite is a place where those rejected by Neo Domino City stay. Whether they be crooks or innocent faces, it doesn’t matter. If you’re in Satellite, you’re a nobody,” The man with braided hair explained. “Well, that doesn’t sound fair! How do we get out of here?!” Rainbow Dash demanded. “Calm down, Rainbow Dash! We should be careful what we say,” Spike warned. “I’m sorry, but there isn’t a way out. Well, there is one, but it is fairly tricky,” the bulky man explained. “In fact, we were going to see something involving someone who did make it out.” “Can we see?” Rainbow Dash asked them.  “As long as you don’t steal or hurt us you can stay and watch, but it isn’t likely to be a happy story to tell you,” the bandanna-wearing man warned. “Try me,” Rainbow Dash pried. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “It’s time for today’s greatest Turbo Duel! He’s coming! Everybody listen! King of Duel Runners Jack Atlas!” The announcer MC introduced the reigning champion of Neo Domino City. Jack proceeded to race out into the arena on his Duel Runner, a white motorcycle-like vehicle made for the express purpose of Turbo Dueling. He got onto the main track and zoomed out on it. “Sorry to keep you waiting! I’m the king!” Jack Atlas called out to the adoring crowd. Meanwhile, there was another man on a Duel Runner underground, testing to see how fast he could get his Duel Runner to go. “It’s the 143rd Duel King Competition. Will the challenger Hunter Pace be able to beat the undefeated ultimate deck?” the MC announced to everyone watching. “How will the king face the enemy’s challenge? Watch the battle of destiny! The time has come to place a spell on the field! The challenger is next to the king. Set on the field spell Speed World!” At this, both duelist’s Duel Runners were set to duel in Speed World with the press of a button. “Duel mode on. Autopilot standby.” Following this, the world around everyone turned purple. “The field is now under the control of Speed World! Now spells other than Speed Spells cannot be activated!” The MC explained to newcomers to the world of dueling. “Speed spells are the most unique feature of Turbo Duels. They are spells that can only be activated when Speed World covers the field. The activation requirements are different than normal spells. They are determined by the number of speed counters. In other words, the duelist’s speed itself becomes spells! The starter signal has appeared, and it’s showing red. Now! Turbo Duel acceleration! The challenger goes first.” “Here I go!” Hunter Pace yelled as he drew his first card. The man that was testing how fast he could get his Duel Runner to go was still driving. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “So wait? This Jack Atlas stole your friend’s Stardust Dragon card and Duel Runner and took off for Neo Domino City when he did?” The trio nodded their heads in agreement. “That jerk! I cannot believe he could do such a thing! Also, when was there a second Stardust Dragon?” “A second Stardust Dragon? There has only been one that we know of,” The bandanna-wearing man answered. “Rainbow Dash… Be careful or you’ll reveal that we’re from another world,” Spike whispered to Rainbow. Rainbow was about to respond only for the broadcast to interrupt her. “The challenger Hunter Pace is assaulting the king with a clever trap!” The MC announced as Hunter Pace had his ace monster Skull Flame on his field. “However, the king isn’t backing down! What’s this?” The MC said as a bright light surrounded Jack Atlas. “I’ll show you my great power!” Jack said as Jack’s ace monster, Red Dragon Archfiend was summoned to Jack’s field. “It’s appeared! The king’s main monster, Red Dragon Archfiend!” After seeing this, Rainbow Dash was in shock. She didn’t expect for there to be a second Stardust Dragon, but she didn’t expect for him to also own her dragon card, Red Dragon Archfiend. “H-he’s u-using my card,” Rainbow Dash whispered. “Um, run that by me again?” The man with braided hair asked. “He’s using my card! I can prove it too!” Rainbow Dash yelled as she got out her Red Dragon Archfiend, much to the shock of the group. “This is my thanks for giving me a fun time,” Jack taunted. “I’ll give you the honor of falling prey to our fangs. Take this! Scorching Crimson Hellflare!” Meanwhile, right as Hunter Pace was to take the attack and lose, the mysterious man’s Duel Runner also shut down, the Runner obviously being incomplete. The man took off his helmet and looked up at the sky. Back at the arena, Hunter Pace had gotten off of his Duel Runner in anger.  “The king has successfully protected his throne again!” The MC announced as cheerleaders cheered on Jack. “A new page has been added to his undefeated legend! Jack! Jack! Jack!”  “There’s only one king and it’s me!” Jack boasted as he held up a finger in the air. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “He won again!” Leo, a 11-year-old young adult cheered on Jack, happy to see that Jack Atlas had won another Turbo Duel. “That’s nice, Leo,” Luna said, his younger twin sister, not completely invested in the Duel that just occurred. “Hey, come on! Jack Atlas is one of the best Duelists of our time! And someday, I’ll be right up there with him,” Leo said with excitement in his eyes. All of a sudden, a vortex formed in the middle of the room and Rarity popped out of it, much to the shock and confusion of the twins.  “Whoa. What was that?” Leo asked, in awe upon noticing the duel disk on Rarity’s arm. “Are you a duelist?!” “Um, yes? Who are you?” Rarity asked the young boy. However, before he could answer, Luna answered for him. “My name is Luna and this is Leo. You’re in our apartment in the Tops District. Now, tell us who you are and where you came from, please,” Luna answered. “Oh, well my name is Rarity. I come from a different dimension and I came to visit some friends of mine. However, it appears as if they aren’t here. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get going,” Rarity began to leave the apartment before Leo interrupted her. “Aw, come on! You just got here! Can we at least have a duel first?” Leo pleaded. “I wanna face off against someone other than Luna for a change.” “Hold on, Leo! We don’t know if we can trust her. Maybe we should just let her leave,” Luna suggested. “Luna, this woman needs help. We can help her. We should at least give her a chance. At least let me duel her, first,” Leo countered. “Well, all right. But you need to have her agree first,” Luna accepted. “Well, I guess I can duel against him. But be warned. I graduated among the top of my class at Duel Academy,” Rarity warned Leo. This only got Leo more excited to duel. “What are we waiting for? Let’s go!” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “I can’t believe I’m gonna duel a Duel Academy graduate. So, are you planning to duel against Jack Atlas? He is the best duelist I know! And it would be cool for a dimension hopper to duel him!” Leo was very excited. “Hold on, Leo. Just remember to give her room to breathe,” Luna reminded her brother. “I’m sorry. I’m just so excited. Can I please have the first turn, Rarity?” Leo asked. “Sure thing, Leo,” Rarity agreed. “The first turn is mine! I draw. I summon Morphtronic Magnen in attack mode (800 Attack)! I then place two cards facedown and end my turn,” Leo ended his turn. “My move, then. I activate the spell card Rose Bell of Revelation! With it, I can add a plant monster with 2400 or more attack points from my deck to my hand. And I’ll add Gigaplant to my hand. Next, I activate my spell card’s effect from my graveyard, removing it from play to summon Gigaplant from my hand (2400 Attack)! Next, I summon Gigantic Cephalotus (1850 Attack)! Next, I equip the spell card Fairy Meteor Crush to Gigaplant! I now have Gigantic Cephalotus attack your Morphtronic Magnen!” “Hold on! I activate my trap Morphtransition. This negates your attack and switches my monster to defense mode (800 Defense)!” Leo blocked the attack. “Well then, I have Gigaplant attack your Magnen!” Leo 2400 Rarity 4000 “Hold on! My monster was in defense mode! How did I take damage?”  “Fairy Meteor Crush inflicts piercing damage, Leo. If you’re wondering, I looked it up,” Luna explained. “Oh.” Leo responded. “I shall end my turn by placing one card facedown. Your turn, Leo,” Rarity ended her turn. “My turn! I activate the spell card Double Summon! This allows me to summon twice this turn. So, now I’ll summon Morphtronic Boomboxen(1200 Attack) and Radion(1000 Attack)! Thanks to Radion’s ability, both my monsters gain 800 attack points (2000 Attack/1800 Attack)! Next up, I activate the equip spell card Double Tool C&D! It increases the Attack points of my Boomboxen by 1000 during my turn! Now, Boombox, attack Gigaplant!” “I activate my trap card Wall of Thorns! This trap negates your attack and destroys all your face up monsters in attack mode!” “Not so fast! I play my trap Morphtronic Forcefield! With it, I can negate an effect that would destroy a Morphtronic and destroy the card. Then, I add one Morphtronic from my Deck to my hand. And I choose Morphtronic Map! Now, Boombox, continue your attack!” Leo 2400 Rarity 3400 “Now, thanks to Boomboxen’s effect, I can attack a second time. Now, attack Gigantic Cephalotus!” Leo 2400 Rarity 2250 “Finally, I’ll have Radion attack you directly!” Leo 2400 Rarity 450 “I end my turn,” Leo proceeded to get very excited. “Hey, Luna! I’m winning against this new girl! See? I can make it big someday! And this duel will be my starting point!” “Um, Leo? I know you’re excited, but maybe you should celebrate after the duel is over,” Luna suggested. “Your sister is right, you know. I still have a move to make. My turn! I summon Twilight Rose Knight to the field (1000 Attack)! And then, I’ll play his special ability to summon Lord Poison from my hand. Finally, I’ll tune my Twilight Rose Knight with my Lord Poison to Synchro Summon Black Rose Dragon (2400 Attack)!” I activate my dragon’s special ability! Now I can destroy all cards on the field. I then play the spell card Monster Reborn in order to Special Summon my dragon from the graveyard. Now, I attack you directly!” Leo’s life points went down to zero. “Good duel, Leo. You should be proud. You almost beat me.” “Yeah. Yeah. But I still lost. So much for jumpstarting my dueling career,” Leo moped. “Hey, don’t be too down, Leo,” Luna comforted her brother. “Yeah. You still came close to winning. Given time and practice, you could end up becoming a great duelist someday soon,” Rarity complimented her opponent. “Trust me, this comes from a girl that isn’t even a pro duelist but knows some pros herself.” “Wait, you’re not a pro?” Leo was surprised. “Wow. I never would have guessed.” “Well, anyway, I might as well get going. I have friends to find,” Rarity was about to leave when Leo suddenly grabbed her hand. “Hold on. If you’re looking for some people and don’t know where to look, maybe you can stay with us for the time being. Consider this a thank you for the amazing duel. Plus, in the meantime, you can give us some pointers,” Leo suggested. Rarity proceeded to look at Luna, “Hey, if it means anything, I think that you are a good person and am okay with you staying,” Luna said. “Alright. I’ll stay for the time being,” Rarity accepted the offer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The mysterious man rolled his red Duel Runner back to his friend’s hideout, which turned out to be the same hideout where Rainbow had ended up. “In the beginning, it appeared as if you were troubled by the challenger’s trap. However, you were actually thinking two or three moves ahead,” The MC said as he questioned the dueling king. Suddenly, Jack grabbed the microphone from the MC and said, “If the king used his full strength from the beginning, it would have been over in an instant. The king’s duel must be entertaining!” The crowd cheered at this, though the one at the underground was less pleased, with Rainbow Dash trembling in fury at what she had learned about Jack. Spike, meanwhile, looked worried about Rainbow’s anger. The mysterious man tried to turn on the engine, only for it to fail. “Hey, Yusei.” the bandanna-wearing man said as he turned off the computer. “Sorry. We couldn’t help but be interested in Jack. And the TV only works in here,,” the bulky man apologized. “By the way, we found ourselves a few new friends while you were out. They apparently go by the names Rainbow Dash and Spike.” “Jack was amazing. He’s even stronger than before,” The man with braided hair responded as Yusei was running some tests on his Duel Runner. Eventually, Yusei finally responded. “Nice to meet you Rainbow Dash and Spike. As for Jack’s opponent, he was weak wasn’t he?” “Yeah, he was completely played by Jack,” The man wearing a bandanna said. “Yeah, he duels like a champion all right. And trust me, I really hate to say that,” Rainbow Dash butted in. “He’s bored,” Yusei simply answered as he continued work on his Duel Runner. “What’s the status of the Duel Runner?” the hefty man asked. “Be quiet! Can’t you tell by looking?” The bandanna-wearing man shut up his friend. “That’s right… How is Jack’s former Duel Runner doing?” the hefty man wondered. The bandanna-wearing man suddenly forced the hefty man’s head down as he said, “Can’t you sense the mood?” “But everyone is mad at Jack! Yusei should have been king at that stadium!” the hefty man argued. “But that punk Jack stole the Duel Runner that Yusei built” “Yeah! Jack doesn’t deserve to be on his throne! Man, if I were over there I’d make Jack pay for what he did!” Rainbow Dash cried out. “Look, not that I’m not mad at Jack for what he did, but maybe we shouldn’t hold on to such intense anger. Also, what is a Duel Runner?” Spike asked, much to the shock of the group. “You don’t know what a Duel Runner is? What were you guys born under a rock?!” Blitz asked in shock. “Well, you see, we happen to come from another dimens-,” Rainbow Dash began only to be interrupted by Spike shaking her. “Well, fine,” Nervin, the guy with braided hair, decided to play along. “A Duel Runner is a special type of motorcycle that you can duel on.” “Wow! Sounds cool! I’d like to ride one someday!” Rainbow Dash sounded impressed. “Yeah, you and everyone else trapped here in Satellite,” Tank said sadly. Suddenly, a boy with red hair and a dress-like outfit ran into the underground hideout. “Hey, Yusei!” The boy called out, getting Yusei’s attention. “Hi Rally,” Tank said hello to the young boy. “Great. Everyone’s here. Wait, who are you?” Rally questioned Rainbow Dash. “I’m Rainbow Dash. Let’s just say I agree with you all that Jack deserves to be put in his place,” Rainbow Dash introduced herself. “Oh, and I’m Spike,” Spike said, a bit annoyed to be ignored. “Okay. Well, back to business. Yusei!” Rally ran over to Yusei. “Wait. Why are you in such a hurry?” Nervin questioned. Rally got out a chip and asked, “Can you use this for your Duel Runner?” “What is it?”  Blitz noticed the chip and grabbed Rally’s hand that held the chip. “Hey. This is brand new! Where did you get it?” Rally broke free from the hold and held the chip close to himself. “You have it all wrong. I found it among the junk.” Everyone looked at each other at Rally’s claim, not sure whether or not to believe him. “You weren’t stealing again were you?”Blitz asked. “If that’s stolen, then all of us might get arrested,” Tank warned. “We don’t want to wear this mark,” Nervin said, pointing to a yellow mark on Rally’s cheek. “Speaking of which, what is the deal with that mark anyway?” Rainbow asked. “When someone commits a crime like stealing and they get caught, the perpetrator gets a mark tattooed onto their face,” the Tank answered. “Stop,” Yusei called for the others to stop drilling into Rally. He then held out his hand for the chip, which Rally handed over to him. “I’ll use it.” As Yusei walked back to his Duel Runner in order to replace the chip, Blitz asked him. “Are you sure about that Yusei?” Rally, meanwhile, who was excited, said, “It’ll definitely run faster!” “Yusei, I know how you feel, but forget about Jack,” Nervin tried to reason with Yusei. “Yusei is going to settle things with Jack!” Rally countered. “But in order to do that, he’ll have to face many dangers. Is it worth it?” “But Jack stole Yusei’s main monster!” “Yeah! I’m with Rally. Jack stole from Yusei so he should try and get back at him! Right, Spike?” Rainbow agreed with Rally. “Please don’t drag me into this,” Spike pleaded. “Yusei, are you seriously going to leave here?” Nervin asked. “I’m not leaving. I’m just going,” Yusei responded as he was working on a computer screen. “Don’t do it. That place isn’t for us,” Blitz warned. “From the beginning, Jack was different than us.” Before the conversation could continue, the computer beeped, the chip being added on completed. Yusei turned on the engine to test it and it went on stronger than before. “So? It’s totally better, right?” Rally asked Yusei. Yusei nodded his head in agreement. “Go for a ride! It’s really fast!” Rally held out Yusei’s helmet for him. Suddenly, a light shined from the crack above them. “What is that?” Tank was confused. “It’s Security!” Nervin responded, realizing they were all in trouble. “Wait, what is Security?” Rainbow Dash was curious and confused. “Security is the law in Satellite and Neo Domino City. They are a bad bunch to get on the bad side of,” Yusei explained. “Identification number AWX 86007, Rally Dawson! You’re under suspicion for robbery. Surrender immediately! Come out! As long as you have a marker, you cannot escape!” the Security member in the helicopter yelled out. “You…,” Blitz muttered in anger as he raised his fist toward Rally. Rally moved the helmet to defend himself. “Sorry! I took it from the factory. Because I wanted Yusei to beat Jack!” “That’s no excuse!” Blitz countered. However, before he could do something, Yusei stopped him. “That’s enough.” “That’s you being you,” Blitz responded. “As long as you have a marker, you can’t escape. It sends a signal to Security.” Tank reminded them. Yusei was quick to create a solution, hacking into the marker signal on his computer. “What? The signal’s been severed!” The Security member in the helicopter was shocked. “I’ve severed the marker signal,” Yusei said as he got onto the Duel Runner. “You jammed it?” the bandanna-wearing man asked. “Everyone, go over there,” Yusei ordered for his friends to hide as he put on his helmet. “I’ll draw away Security.” Before he could leave and the others hid, Rainbow was quick to counter. “Hold on! I’m going with you. You may need help to deal with Security.” She quickly got behind Yusei on his Duel Runner. “Any objections?” Yusei was quick to question Rainbow Dash. “Hold on. You could get hurt.” “I can manage myself, thank you. Besides, it’s not like I’ll weigh you down that much,” Rainbow Dash was getting annoyed. Yusei stopped himself for a moment before he decided, “Fine. Just be careful.” “Thanks. Spike, you go with them. Protect them as best as you can,” Rainbow Dash responded before they zoomed off on the Duel Runner, zooming out of the underground and past the Security members outside. “What? A Duel Runner? The suspect is fleeing! After him!” A man named Trudge ordered as he and the rest of the Security members present followed Yusei and Rainbow. “It’s fast. The front and rear wheel outputs, the balance control of the rotations… It’s perfect,” Yusei thought to himself about the Duel Runner’s performance. “Duel Runner, it’s no use trying to escape! Stop!” Trudge yelled as he and Security proceeded to follow them. Eventually, the chase brought the pair into an old factory that looked like it hadn't been used in some time. Upon getting inside, Yusei finally stopped his Runner and Trudge proceeded to stop and get off of his Runner and approached the duo. “Where did you steal that Duel Runner from?” “We didn’t steal it! It was built!” Rainbow Dash countered. “Hey! Don’t fight back or things will be much worse for you two,” another member of Security said as he also got out of the police car. Trudge proceeded to laugh upon noticing something about the pair. “You guys don’t have markers. So you’re a decoy. I guess garbage helps other garbage.” At this, Yusei said nothing. Rainbow meanwhile wanted to say something to Security, but realizing that she couldn’t reason with them, decided to stay quiet. “You will be arrested for aiding in the escape,” Trudge told the duo. “I also want to know where you got that Duel Runner from. Tell me” Finally, Yusei said something, “Let’s duel.” Trudge laughed at this proposal, “A piece of garbage from satellite wants to duel me? You don’t even have cards. Stop making me laugh.” Yusei proceeded to lift up his own dueling deck, saying, “I found cards.” Yusei proceeded to place his deck in the deck slot on his wrist. “If I win, you forget about everything that happened today.” “There’s no way we can do that!” The other Security officer yelled. All of a sudden, Trudge held out his arm in front of the other Security member. “You talk big. I accept,” Trudge pridefully accepted the duel. “Trudge, you can’t do this,” the Security officer countered. “I’ll take the responsibility. You guys go home.” “Trudge…” “Go. Or do you think I’m going to lose?” At this, the Security member returned to the car and drove away, with the helicopter following right after. “You are an interesting man,” Yusei said. “What do you mean?” Trudge asked. “I don’t trust Security. But a duelist… that's a different story. You accepted this duel, so I’ll trust you.” “You’re so annoying,” Trudge said as he returned to his Duel Runner. Both duelists moved their Duel Runners so that they could drive into and throughout the factory. “I set the field spell Speed World.” “Duel mode on. Autopilot standby,” The computers on the Duel Runners chirped out. “Duel!” Both duelists yelled as the area around them turned purple and the Duel Runners zoomed off. “I’ll go first. And I summon Assault Dog in attack mode!” Trudge said as he summoned out a brown and black dog with guns on his back (1200 Attack). “Then I set a card facedown and end my turn.” “My turn,” Yusei announced as both duelist’s speed counters went up to one. “I summon Speed Warrior (900 Attack).” “In attack position. However, it has nowhere near the attack points of my Assault Dog!” Trudge countered. Suddenly, the attack points of Speed Warrior went up (1800 Attack). “The attack points doubled?” “Speed Warrior’s attack points are doubled only during the battle phase of the turn in which it was summoned,” Yusei revealed. “Of course! I have that card too and I agree that it has a nifty effect to use!” Rainbow Dash was amazed. “How annoying when all you are is garbage!” Trudge was annoyed with Yusei and Rainbow. “Speed Warrior! Sonic Edge!” Yusei called out as Speed Warrior dodged Assault Dog’s blasts and destroyed him with a spinning kick. Trudge 3400 Yusei 4000 “Not bad. But I have a monster effect also. Assault Dog, go!” Suddenly, another Assault Dog was summoned onto Trudge’s field. “When Assault Dog is sent to the graveyard due to battle, I can special summon another Assault Dog from my deck!” “I set one card facedown and end my turn,” Yusei said as Speed Warrior’s attack points returned to 900.  “My turn! I release Assault Dog! I advance summon my level 5 monster Handcuffs Dragon  (1800 Attack)! Handcuffs Dragon! Handcuff Shoot!” Trudge yelled out. “I activate my trap Scrap Iron Scarecrow! This negates your monster’s attack,” Yusei explained. “That’s not a bad move. However...The trap card Wiretap!” Trudge played as he skidded in front of Yusei. “This card negates the activation of your trap card and returns it to your deck. Do it, Handcuffs Dragon!” Handcuffs Dragon crushed Speed Warrior in its grip. “Hey! That cannot be fair!” Rainbow complained at this move. Trudge 3400 Yusei 3100 Both duelists speeded past each other on their Duel Runners. “If it’s a deck you made from cards that you found, then no matter how you built it, it’s still garbage!” Trudge insulted. Yusei turned back around and he and Rainbow followed after Trudge. “My turn! I summon Sonic Chick in defense mode!” A pink chick was summoned onto Yusei’s field (300 Defense). “I then place two cards facedown and end my turn.” Trudge proceeded to laugh as he said, “Your entire battle strategy is just to defend. You’re just all talk! My turn!” He drew a card and then sent three monsters from his hand to the graveyard. “Here I go! Level 4, Level 3, and Level 3. By sending these three cards in my hand to the graveyard, I special summon Montage Dragon!” A three headed dragon wearing masks was summoned to Trudge’s field (3000 Attack). “Due to this card’s monster effect, its attack points are equal to the sum of the levels of the monsters I sent to the graveyard multiplied by 300!” Both Rainbow Dash and Yusei were shocked to see a monster be summoned that had 3000 attack points “3000…” Yusei muttered in concern and awe. “Handcuffs Dragon attacks Sonic Chick!” Handcuffs Dragon proceeded to squeeze Sonic Chick until she was destroyed. “Now for the main event! Montage Dragon, attack the player directly!” Montage Dragon sent out an array of beam blasts that reduced Yusei’s Life Points significantly. Trudge 3400 Yusei 100 As a result of the attack, Yusei’s speed counters went down from four to one. Much to Rainbow’s shock, their speed decreased with the loss in speed counters. “Hey, why are we slowing down?!” Rainbow Dash was confused. “My speed...It’s due to the effect of the direct attack,” Yusei explained. “You only have 100 Life Points remaining, you garbage!” Trudge mocked. “Hey! Yusei can still win this, you know!” Rainbow countered. “As if! He’s destined to lose and you both are destined to go to the Facility!” Trudge gloated. “How about we make things interesting then? If Yusei wins the duel, on top of the previous arrangement we get to have your runner! If you win you get to have your very own copy of Red Dragon Archfiend!” Rainbow Dash suggested. “Very well… Make your final move, Satellite!” Trudge said. “My cards… I believe in you. I draw!” Yusei said. Upon seeing his card, he smiled. “T arrived. I summon the tuner monster Junk Synchron (1300 Attack),” Yusei summoned. “A tuner monster? It can’t be!” Trudge was in shock. “It is. I activate the trap card Graceful Revival! With this card, I can special summon one level 2-or-below monster in my graveyard. Come, Speed Warrior!” Yusei summoned the warrior monster from his graveyard. “What?”  Junk Synchron pulled a chord on his body to rev up his engine. “Junk Synchron tunes Speed Warrior! The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Come, Junk Warrior (2300 Attack)!” Yusei cried out as a purple and white warrior was summoned to Yusei’s field. “No way! This Satellite garbage was able to Synchro Summon? Still, it can’t stand up to Montage Dragon’s attack points!” Trudge was shocked at what Yusei had done. “I activate the Speed Spell Vision Wind!” Yusei played. “Speed Spell? I diminished that punk’s speed by attacking him directly. How dare he do that!” “With this card, I can special summon one level 2-or-below monster in my graveyard. I special summon level 2 Speed Warrior!” Yusei called out. “Then, my Junk Warrior’s ability activates. The attack points of a level 2-or-below monster on my  field are added to Junk Warrior (3200 Attack). “With a speed spell combo, you instantly increased your attack points! How annoying.” “Go, Junk Warrior. Attack Handcuffs Dragon! Scrap Fist.” Junk Warrior proceeded to punch Handcuffs Dragon. Trudge 2000 Yusei 100 “You chose to attack Handcuffs Dragon because you preferred to damage me, but now you’ve lost the battle!” Handcuffs Dragon returned to the field and latched onto Junk Warrior, lowering its attack points to 1400. “See that? When Handcuffs Dragon is destroyed in battle, it becomes an equip card that is equipped to your monster, and your monster loses attack points equal to its attack points. Now it’s over. From the beginning, you aren’t able to disobey authority!” “This is bad! Maybe you should have attacked Montage Dragon after all,” Rainbow panicked. “Actually, I’ll be using that effect to help myself,” Yusei answered. “What?” Trudge was confused. “I activate the trap card Equip Shot,” Yusei played, with Junk Warrior’s attack points returning to 3200 as Montage Dragon being equipped with Handcuffs Dragon instead, lowering his attack points to 1200. “Equip Shot is a card that re-equips an equip card on to the opponent’s monster. The monsters targeted by this effect now battle. Junk Warrior! Scrap Fist!” Junk Warrior punched through Montage Dragon, destroying the monster and lowering Trudge’s Life Points to 0. After this, Trudge’s Runner stopped, with a message saying “Defeat” present on the screen. “I can’t believe it. I lost to this garbage…” Trudge seethed. Yusei stopped his Duel Runner where Trudge was, saying, “No matter what the card is, as long as it exists, it has the power to be useful. You don’t have the right to call yourself a duelist when you dismiss cards by calling them garbage.”  After this, Yusei and Rainbow Dash left, with the girl sticking her tongue out as they left. Trudge then seethed, “I will crush you! You think you’ve won, but soon you’ll suffer under the foot of Security! You’ll get my runner alright, but don’t expect to keep it for very long!” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yusei eventually stopped his Duel Runner after leaving the factory. He got off his Runner and looked over at Neo Domino City across the ocean. “Just wait, Jack,” Yusei said, as Rainbow was thinking not only about her new friends and Yusei’s vendetta, but also about her friends and if they were alright or not. > Power Insect Deck! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, in Neo Domino City Tops… Jack Atlas was looking at the sea from the roof of his home. His attention soon turned to the Stardust Dragon card that used to belong to Yusei as he looked at the card in his hand. “So even the king gets lost in his memories,” Rex Goodwin said to Jack from behind him. “I used to live in that garbage dump,” Jack criticized Satellite as he looked at it from afar. “You are the one chosen by the stars,” Rex reminded Jack. “You should forget about that dark hell.” Suddenly, Jack threw the Stardust Dragon card right back into his deck almost evenly. “There’s no way I can forget. I’m so humiliated about the days I spent at Satellite that I can’t breathe. That land should be destroyed.” “That cannot be done. Neo Domino City cannot exist without Satellite,” Rex Goodwin refused Jack’s idea. “Satellite is a world that supports the prosperity of the chosen ones. The people who live there are only kept alive so that they can recycle all the garbage we throw away. In an ideal world no one is useless. The fact that the king used to live in Satellite is a test given to you by god. That is what I believe.” “A test,” Jack muttered to himself. “In Neo Domino City’s history, the only person who succeeded in coming here from Satellite was you, king,” Rex said. “That is why you are the one chosen by the stars.” Before the conversation could continue, a vortex opened up in the room and Pinkie Pie in her human form popped out of it. When she got out, she noticed Jack and Rex and bounced on over to them. “Hey there, you two. Have you seen my friends around anywhere or do I need to leave in order to find them? Oh, do you want to have a party before I go?” Unfortunately, the other two did not take her up on her offer. In fact, they looked shocked, confused, and even a bit angry at the intrusion. “Um, are you two okay? You look pretty upset.” “Yes I am. You pretty much just appeared in my home out of nowhere. How can I not be upset?” Jack yelled. “How much did you hear?”  “Of what you just said? Nothing. I just went through a portal to get here so excuse me if I came in at a bad time.” “You did come in at a less than ideal time. In fact, I think you should leave now or risk going to the Facility,” Rex Goodwin warned. “What Facility?” Pinkie asked only to be met with angry glares. “Well, alright. I guess I’ll be going,” Pinkie said as she sadly started to leave. However, before she could leave, her arm started to glow blue with a heart symbol on it. As soon as it appeared, it disappeared though, leaving Jack and Pinkie confused and Rex shocked. “Wait. How did you make that mark appear?” Rex questioned Pinkie. “Um, I dunno. My arm has never done that before,” Pinkie honestly answered. “Well then. Jack, it looks like you’ll have a guest staying with you for right now. Miss Pie will be staying with you so that we can keep an eye on her for the time being. Well, it’s about time I get going,” Rex gave his farewell. “Wait, Goodwin. What was that glow? Why do I have to keep an eye on this energetic possible fan? Answer me!” Jack confronted Goodwin.  “Just trust me that I will tell you what you need to know in due time,” Goodwin cryptically said before leaving. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in Satellite, underground… Rally was holding a timer in order to count how long it took Yusei to go a certain distance on his Duel Runner. Rainbow Dash and Spike were also there, looking intently and thinking to themselves. Since they had gotten to Satellite a few days ago, they had grown to become fast friends with Yusei and the gang. They wanted to thank them for helping them, but they didn’t know how at first. As time went on, however, Rainbow came up with an idea. She wanted to come with Yusei and help him to defeat Jack in a duel. She also wanted to find the rest of her friends, hopefully in the process of helping Yusei.  A day after their duel with Trudge, Rainbow did indeed receive Trudge’s Runner. It took a lot of practice and some help from Yusei, but eventually Rainbow was able to get used to riding a Runner and had even taken a lap earlier. While she wasn’t as fast as Yusei, she still did a rather decent job. Hopefully, they would all make it to Neo Domino City. Eventually, Yusei returned to the starting point and skidded to a fast and complete stop. Rally looked at the timer and was happy with the results. “Incredible! That’s your best time so far! You’ll be able to get through the pipeline easily!” Rally enthusiastically told Yusei as he showed him the timer. “Yeah,” Yusei simply responded. “Tonight’s finally the night,” Rally responded. “I’m going one more time. Time me,” Yusei said. At this, Yusei zoomed off on his Duel Runner in order to make one final test drive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “I can’t believe the people in the city dump this much garbage everyday,” The man with the ponytail, Nervin, said as he was carrying three boxes of junk. “Don’t complain. We need to do this to eat,” The man with the bandanna, Blitz, said, also carrying three boxes. “Whoa!” The hefty man, Tank, said as he was holding his three boxes uneasily. His friends warned him to be careful as they started to walk by three men with yellow face markers sitting at a bench. One was wearing shades, one had a purple shirt and held out his index finger and thumb. The leader of the three had blue hair and was named Lenny. As they walked by, Lenny intentionally tripped Tank, with both of his friends immediately dropping their boxes and turning around to help him and ask if he was okay. “Sorry. You tripped over my leg,” Lenny sarcastically apologized. “You have really long legs Lenny. He should have been more careful,” The guy wearing shades said as the other man laughed. “I thought I smelled the stench of garbage approaching, but it turned out to be Satellite people,” Lenny mocked the trio Blitz then countered, “Yeah? Then what’s up with the markers on your cheeks?” At this, Lenny was furious as he got up, pulled Blitz toward him by his shirt collar and punched him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having gotten a bit bored with watching Yusei’s trial runs, Rainbow Dash went to look around Satellite in hopes of finding her friends, riding her Runner around the demolished city. She looked just about everywhere she could, even having to escape a few tussles when she ran into the more violent civilians. Eventually, she gave up and decided to return to where Yusei and the gang hung out at. On the way there, she got surrounded by a group of violent duelists.  “Well, well, well. Look what we have here. A little lady who got lost,” The leader, who was a tall woman wearing an orange shirt, black pants and jacket, shades, and boots, mockingly said. “Oh, I’m not lost. I just ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’ll leave now if that will stop you all,” Rainbow said, wanting to try and avoid an unnecessary fight. However, the grunts of the woman kept Rainbow from leaving. “Since you had the nerve to enter our turf, how about we have a duel. The winner gets the loser’s cards. That is, if you think you can win,” The woman tried to bait Rainbow. “Thanks, but no thanks. I already have more than enough cards and I’d rather avoid an unnecessary fight,” Rainbow Dash calmly declined.  The woman, however, wasn’t done with Rainbow. “I see. Well then, how about we make things interesting. The winner gets to keep that fancy Runner you have there, Skittles. The name’s Tonya.” “Well, my name’s Rainbow Dash, and I’m gonna defeat you with ease! Let’s duel!” Rainbow yelled out. “I’ll start by summoning Changeling Solder 1 in attack mode!” A black changeling-like soldier wearing bronze armor was summoned to the field (1500 Attack) “Next, with my soldier’s ability, I special summon Changeling Soldier 2 in defense mode (500 Attack/2000 Defense).” A changeling soldier wearing green armor was summoned onto the field. “Then, I activate my Soldier 2’s effect to summon Soldier 3(1700 Attack).” A third changeling in silver was summoned to the field. “Finally, I’ll activate Soldier 3’s effect in order to special summon my ace monster, Changeling Queen Chrysalis (2500 Attack)! I can only summon her when I control all three of my Soldiers.” A Chrysalis-like monster was summoned to Tonya’s field. “I activate my Queen’s ability! With her help, I can deal 800 damage to you for every Changeling Soldier I control. Go, Dark Velvet Inferno! I end my turn there.” Tonya 4000 Rainbow Dash 1600 “Where did she get these cards from? Did Pegasus create cards based off of our adventures or something? Doesn't matter! All that matters is that I defeat her and keep this Runner.” “I draw! I play the spell Double Summon in order to summon two monsters this turn. Next, I play the spell Tuning in order to add Junk Synchron to my hand in exchange for sending the top three cards of my deck to the graveyard.” Speed Warrior, Sonic Chick, and Scrap-Iron Scarecrow were sent to the graveyard. “I’ll now summon Junk Synchron! When he is summoned, I can special summon a level 2 or lower monster from my graveyard in defense mode. So, I’ll special summon my Speed Warrior (400 Defense)! Now, I’ll tune my Junk Synchron with my Speed Warrior in order to Synchro Summon Junk Warrior (2300 Attack)!” “That all you got, kid? How pathetic. Here I was expecting a decent challenge, yet all you give me is a crappy play like that?” Tonya shook her head. “I wouldn’t be so sure of your victory if I were you, Tonya. I play the spell card Stop Defense. With it, I’ll switch your Changeling Soldier 2 from defense mode to attack mode (500 Attack)! Now, I play the spell card Megamorph! With it, I can double the attack of my Junk Warrior since my life points are lower than yours. Now, Junk Warrior, attack Changeling Soldier 2 with Scrap Fist!” Rainbow cried out as Tonya’s life points dropped to zero from the attack. “So, had enough of my awesome skills yet?” “H-How did you beat me? I’m one of the best duelists in the Satellite!” Tonya was in disbelief.  “Well, while you were great I just happened to do better. Next time, don’t bully someone who is smaller than you,” Rainbow Dash said before she rode off. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When Tank, Nervin, and Blitz returned, they got bandages placed on their wounds courtesy of Rally and Spike. “Ouch,” Blitz groaned as another bandage was placed on his face. “You were beaten up pretty badly,” Rally said in response to the trio’s wounds. “Man. I knew this place wasn’t good, but this?” Spike was shocked to see the trio beat up. “Lenny was recently sent here after causing an incident in the city,” Blitz explained what little he knew of where Lenny had come from. “He keeps bragging that he’s originally from the city and getting into scrapes with the people of Satellite.” “He just wants to say that he’s different than us,” Nervin explained. “Well if you ask me, I think that I would have punched him back if I was there. No one messes with me or my friends. I may have learned to be less confrontational, but I still won’t stand for the mistreatment of others like this!” Rainbow seethed over hearing about this Lenny guy. “After all, I took down a supposed big time duelist and I’d be fine taking down another!” “Um, thanks?” Nervin awkwardly said in appreciation of Rainbow’s offer. “Maybe it would be best if we avoid a confrontation with the guy,” Spike said warily.  “Hey, Yusei, how are things going over there?” Tank asked out of curiosity. “It’s going extremely well,” Rally excitedly said. “He achieved the best time ever today!” “Yeah. He might just make it into Neo Domino City!” Rainbow Dash agreed with the young child. “And, with just a bit more practice, Spike and I can follow on after him!” “Hey, that sounds good,” Blitz congratulated Yusei. “It’s all thanks to Rally,” Yusei thanked his friend for getting him the chip.  “I also have to thank Yusei,” Rally thanked Yusei in turn. “Since that incident, Security hasn’t been chasing after me. Yusei, I’m making you a promise. I’ll never steal again.” In response to this, Yusei looked over at Rally and gave him a nod of encouragement. “I guess there are reasonable people in Security after all,” Blitz commented. “It’s a fact that a duelist always obeys the outcome of a duel,” Nervin explained. “I wouldn’t call him a duelist,” Yusei said, gaining the attention of everyone present. “However, for a dog in a position of authority, he accepts it when he loses.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, at Sector Security… Trudge was looking over a brand new deck that he was issued. “So it’s a special pursuit deck. What an interesting creation.”  His boss explained, “Recently in Neo Domino City, there have been many cases of people misusing Duel Runners and driving wildly. To oppose them, a mobile squad known as the Duel Chasers has been formed. This is the deck specially customized for their use.” “And you’re giving it to me?” Trudge asked. “I heard that you recently lost to a Turbo Duelist and paid for the stolen item and your old Runner out of your own salary.” “That is the moral code of a Duelist.” “It turned out fine because they accepted it. But before you’re a Duelist, you’re a Sector Security agent.” “Understood. But the next time I meet him and his little girlfriend, things will end up differently because I now have this.” Trudge started to walk away. “If that Duel Runner shows up again, tell me!” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Yusei was typing into his computer, Tank asked, “What do you think the expression on Jack’s face will be?” Rally followed up by asking, “Are you going to duel Jack?” Yusei answered, “I’ll make him give me back the card. That’s all. That card belongs to all of us.” “You’re right,” Blitz agreed. “Every one of us wanted to meet that dragon.” “The Turbo Duel that Yusei showed us when he hacked into the city was amazing,” Tank said. “We learned that in the city, the Duel Disk was developed further into the Duel Runner.” “We were all deeply moved when Yusei created the Duel Runner,” Rally added on. “When that dragon flew, I was trembling with excitement,” Nervin said. “Our dreams came true,” Rally said. “Wow! I never knew Stardust Dragon could be such a hope bringer!” Spike was impressed. Blitz’s smile begun to disappear.“However, Jack was already planning to steal Yusei’s Duel Runner and card,” Blitz bitterly reminded everyone. “Maybe everyone around here would have been happier if Jack wasn’t such a jerk and stole your card, Yusei,” Rainbow commented on the story. “This Duel Runner is also incredible. It can go through that pipeline in two minutes,” Rally boasted. “In only two minutes? Is that true?” Tank asked, amazed at the Runner’s speed. “Yes it is! And I can make it in about two and a half,” Rainbow Dash commented. “I ran a simulation,” Yusei simply responded. “You hacked into them again?” Blitz asked. “Security’s network isn’t guarded well,” Yusei answered as he pulled up an image of a pipeline on the computer. “Once a month at midnight, the pipeline is stopped for maintenance. It takes three minutes for the automatic maintenance to finish before garbage starts flowing again. If I can get through the maintenance hatch before then, I can escape to the outside.” Yusei pointed to the hatch on the screen. “Yusei, you’re...No, I won’t say anything anymore,” Nervin responded to the plan. “I’ll pray for your success.” “We found you,” Lenny said as he and his two flunkies entered the gang’s spot, one of them laughing. “We’ve come to give you our thanks.” Yusei’s eyes narrowed in anger. “Due to the commotion this afternoon, we were punished! Furthermore, they docked our pay!” Lenny’s shaded goon said as the other guy seethed in rage. “We really wanted to thank you,” Lenny said as he walked forward, ready for a fight, his two goons following him. “Is that a Duel Runner? Wait. Two Runners?!” “This doesn’t concern you,” Blitz responded. “Yeah it is! What, do you want to fight over it?” Rainbow Dash snarled. “It’s a waste for these Duel Runners to be in the possession of a bunch of Satellite punks,” Lenny said. “That treasure is going to waste,” the shaded goon agreed. “We can’t let it go to waste. Give them to me and I’ll forget about the trouble you caused,” Lenny tried to make a deal. “I refuse,” Yusei declined. “Oh, so you’re the Turbo Duelist?” Lenny asked Yusei. “Do you know how to Duel?” Both of his goons laughed. “Or do you want me to teach you? How about you wager that Duel Runner?” Lenny held out his arm while his shaded goon put a blue Duel Disk on Lenny’s arm. “Yusei, don’t battle him,” Blitz warned. Yusei, however, switched out his decks and disconnected his Duel Disk from his Duel Runner, placing it back on his arm. “Yusei!” “Yeah, Yusei! Duel him and show him who’s boss! You can beat him easy!” Rainbow Dash cheered Yusei on. “A hybrid,” Lenny was impressed. “Yusei, we don’t have time for this!” Tank warned. “They mocked our dream,” Yusei responded. “Dream? Don’t you realize you’re just a bunch of Satellite losers? Come, over here,” Lenny said as he led Yusei to where they were to Duel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone was in place for Yusei’s and Lenny’s Duel. “Duel!” Both Duelists yelled. “I’m going to go first! I draw! From my hand, I summon Chainsaw Insect in Attack Mode!” Lenny said as a bug with a chainsaw for a mouth was summoned to the field (2400). “It’s only Level 4 but has 2400 Attack Points?” Tank and the others were shocked. “I know. It has to have some negative side to it,” Rainbow Dash was similarly shocked. “I think that it allows the opponent to draw a card whenever it attacks,” Blitz revealed. “He’s applying pressure from the very beginning,” Nervin explained. “Then I activate the continuous spell Retribution of the Antloin!” Lenny said as he played the continuous spell and a vortex formed in the ground. “When a monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, the controller takes 800 points of damage!” “That means…” Tank began. “When either Yusei or his monster is destroyed, it takes away Life Points. It’s a spell that’s very risky even to himself,” Nervin explained. “It means that he is very confident,” Blitz realized. “Yeah. Maybe too confident,” Spike muttered. “I end my turn,” Lenny confidently said. “I’ll show you how scary my Power Insect Deck is. “Lenny, you’re the best!” His shaded friend called out as his other friend held out his finger and laughed. “My turn. I summon Shield Warrior in Defense Mode (1600). Then I set one card and end my turn,” Yusei made his move. “You chicken. You only placed your monster in Defense Position,” Lenny mocked as both of his friends laughed. “Then it’s my turn! I summon Pinch Hopper (1000)! Then I send one insect-type monster in my hand to the graveyard to activate Insect Costume! Showtime is about to start!” Lenny said as his friends cheered. “Due to the effect of Insect Costume, I add one insect-type monster to my hand! Afterwards, one insect-type monster on the field is destroyed!  “He destroyed his own monster?” Tank asked as Retribution of the Antlion created an energy vortex that striked Lenny. Lenny 3200 Yusei 4000 “Why did my Life Points decrease?” Lenny was shocked and confused. “C’mon now. It’s due to the effect of your own continuous spell,” Blitz said as he facepalmed. “Yeah, I’m new to this card and even I know that,” Rainbow Dash said. Lenny quickly regained his composure and said, “Oh, yeah right. However, that didn’t hurt me at all! Watch! Pinch Hopper’s effect now activates! When this card is sent to the graveyard, I can special summon one insect-type monster from my hand. Metal Armored Bug (2800)! It has 2800 Attack Points! Even though I suffered the effect of Retribution of the Antlion, it’s worth it because I summoned a powerful monster!” “It’s profiting from loss!” Lenny’s friend said as the other one laughed. “It’s huge!” Tank was shocked. “He’s brought out another incredible monster,” Blitz said. “In order to take advantage of Pinch Hopper’s effect, he intentionally destroyed it using Insect Costume,” Nervin realized. “I’m not done! The fun is only beginning! I remove two insect monsters in my graveyard from play. This allows for me to summon Doom Dozer from my hand (2800)! The insect monster army is now going to battle!” Lenny yelled as Yusei looked unfettered. “First, Chainsaw Insect attacks Shield Warrior!” “I activate the trap Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!” Yusei yelled and, to Lenny’s shock, blocked the attack. “This can negate your monster’s attack once a turn. Then Scrap-Iron Scarecrow is once again set.” “You survived the first one, but I have two more remaining! Metal Armored Bug, attack Shield Warrior!” Lenny yelled as Shield Warrior was destroyed, much to the shock of Yusei’s friends. “Shield Warrior…” Yusei said as Retribution of the Antlion proceeded to damage Yusei’s Life Points. Lenny 3200 Yusei 3200 “Doom Dozer, attack him directly!” Lenny cried out. Lenny 3200 Yusei 400 “This is bad, Yusei’s Life Points have decreased in an instant,” Blitz said as he comforted Rally. “Impressive, Lenny!” Lenny’s friend said as the other one laughed. “How’s that! Try to counterattack me!” Lenny cried out. “My turn. From my hand, I summon Speed Warrior (900). Then from my hand, I activate the spell card Double Summon. Due to this effect, I can normal summon again this turn. I’ll use this card. I summon the tuner monster Junk Synchron!” Yusei said. “It’s here! It’s Junk Synchron!” Rally cried out. Junk Synchron pulled a chord on his body. “Junk Synchron tunes Speed Warrior! The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Come, Junk Warrior (2300)!” Yusei yelled out. “What’s with him? He can do Synchro Summons?” Lenny was getting worried. “It’s nothing to worry about, Lenny! You still have a huge lead!” Lenny’s friend yelled as his other friend laughed reassuringly. “Then from my hand, I activate the equip spell Fighting Spirit! For every monster that you have, Junk Warrior’s Attack Points increase by 300 points (3200)!” Yusei yelled. “The opponent has three monsters! It increases by a total of 900 points!” Tank realized. “Go, Yusei!” Rally yelled out, as Junk Warrior’s fist glowed white. “What? It’s stronger than the power of my insect monster army!” Lenny was concerned and scared. “Is this really possible?” Lenny’s friend asked as his other friend nervously laughed and his index finger faltered. “Then I activate the continuous spell Domino Effect,” Yusei said. “Domino Effect? What’s that?” Lenny nervously asked. “Junk Warrior attacks Chainsaw Insect! Scrap Fist!” Yusei yelled as his monster attacked Chainsaw Insect. Lenny 2400 Yusei 400 “Then, I send the two cards Scrap-Iron Scarecrow and Fighting Spirit to the graveyard. Now this is the Domino Effect,” Yusei began to explain. To Lenny’s horror, his monsters toppled into each other and were all destroyed. “With Domino effect, when a monster on your field is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, for every card on my field that I sent to the graveyard, one of your monsters is destroyed.” “I see! By sending two cards to the graveyard, Doom Dozer and Metal Armored Bug were destroyed due to Domino Effect!” Rally realized. “And that means that he’ll take damage due to…” Rainbow Dash realized. “Now take the effect of your own Retribution of the Antlion,” Yusei said. At this, another vortex was formed that dealt damage to Lenny, lowering his Life Points to 0. “Alright!” Rainbow Dash and the others cried out. “Yusei won!” Tank cheered. “No way…” Lenny groaned as he fell onto his knees. “A long time ago, a friend of mine told me something. In a duel, you can’t win just with monsters. You can’t win with just traps or spells either. ‘The true meaning appears when      everything becomes one and the most important thing you need to achieve victory is right here,’” Yusei said as he held up his arm. “My friend didn’t tell me what it was. But I know. It’s the soul of a Duelist that believes in all his cards!” “Well said,” Lenny said with a smile as he stood up. “Sorry to bother you. But this isn’t the last time we’ll Duel. Next time, I’ll win!”  “Fine,” Yusei said. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in Neo Domino City… Jack Atlas was riding on his Duel Runner on the track in his penthouse suite. Eventually, he stopped riding and took off his helmet. “Do you need me to get you anything?” Rex Goodwin, who was watching the king ride, asked. “When I arrived in Neo Domino City...It was on a moonlit night like this,” Jack Atlas said. “So, Jack, do you have any friends?” Pinkie Pie asked the king. “No, not anymore. When you’re the king you have no need for friends,” Jack Atlas said as he shook his head. > Escape! Nitro Warrior Vs. Goyo Guardian > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Satellite, the day that Yusei, Rainbow, and Spike were to leave, Yusei and Rainbow Dash were in the middle of a duel in order to test out their strength. Rainbow Dash still had 1300 Life Points and controlled Turbo Synchron and Vice Dragon while Yusei still had 1600 Life Points controlled no monsters and had a facedown card. “I tune my Turbo Synchron with my Vice Dragon in order to Synchro Summon Turbo Warrior(2500 Attack)! Now, attack Yusei directly and end this duel!” Rainbow Dash cried out. “Not so fast, Rainbow Dash! I play my trap card Scrap Iron Scarecrow to negate your attack!” Yusei blocked the attack. “Wow! Watching them duel shows that they both are incredibly skilled! The question is who is going to win?” Spike wondered. “There’s no doubt about it that Yusei is going to win! He’s the best Duelist in the Satellite!” Rally cheered on his friend. “We’ll see. After all, Rainbow Dash still has a powerful monster out on her field,” Blitz reminded the group. “It’s my move! I summon out Junk Synchron (1300 Attack)! And now I can special summon a monster from my graveyard as long as their level is 2 or less. So, I summon back Speed Warrior (400 Defense)! Next, I activate my Quillbolt Hedgehog’s special ability to summon him from my graveyard! Now, I’ll tune my Junk Synchron with my Speed Warrior in order to Synchro Summon Junk Warrior (2300 Attack>3100 Attack)! Thanks to Junk Warrior’s ability, I can increase his attack points by the amount of all level 2 or lower monsters! Lastly, I equip Junk Warrior with Junk Barrage! Now when he destroys an opposing monster, you take damage equal to half that monster’s attack points. So, Junk Warrior, attack and destroy her Turbo Warrior!” Rainbow’s monster was destroyed by Junk Warrior’s attack after both monsters struggled to overpower each other. Much to her disappointment, her Life Points got reduced to zero. “Well, looks like Yusei is still the superior Duelist,” Tank said. “I know! Still, Rainbow Dash gave him a good challenge,” Rally cheered. “Hey, Rainbow Dash, are you okay?” Spike asked the woman in concern as he approached her. “That duel was awesome! You’re a great Duelist, Yusei! But look out because next time I’m gonna win and take your title as Satellite's best duelist!” Rainbow Dash said as she approached and shook hands with Yusei. “You almost had me for a moment there. If I didn’t draw Scrap Iron Scarecrow, you might have won,” Yusei complimented. “Thanks. So, think we’re ready to make Jack pay?” Rainbow Dash asked Yusei. “I think so,” Yusei nodded. Before they could continue talking, a large amount of Sector Security arrived. “Stay where you are! You’re under violation of the law! Dueling and owning cards is against the law for any non-Security Satellite resident!” The leader yelled through a megaphone. “Great! We have to deal with these Sector Security goons! Well, let’s duel!” Rainbow prepared her Duel Disk only for Spike to step forward. “Spike? What are you doing?” “I’m going to duel these guys and keep everyone safe,” Spike explained as he prepped his Duel Disk. “Hey! I have a proposition for you Sector Security goons! We duel right here and now and if I defeat you all, you leave us alone!” “Fine! We can defeat you with ease little boy!” The man in charge yelled as he and the other twenty officers prepared their Duel Disks. “We’ll go by Battle Royal rules! No one can attack on the turn we begin on!” “Duel!” Everyone yelled. “I’ll go first! I draw! I summon Dashing Dragon to my field in attack mode!” A dragon with handsome black hair and purple scales was summoned to the field (Level 4/1500 Attack/1400 Defense/Wind/Dragon). “I end my turn with a facedown. It’s your move!”  “With pleasure! I send three monsters from my hand to the graveyard in order to special summon Montage Dragon (3600 Attack)! I end my turn,” The first Sector Security goon played.  To the shock of everyone, all of the remaining Sector Security men were able to summon out Montage Dragon to their field, all with 3600 Attack. “Well, little boy! Looks like you’re outnumbered and outmatched!” One man yelled. “You know, you can still give up now and we’ll let you go. You just need to give up your deck to us and you can go free,” Another man suggested. “I won’t just abandon my friends because it is easier! Besides, this duel is just about over! I draw! I summon out Mirage Dragon (1600 Attack)! Now, I’ll overlay my two Level 4 monsters in order to build the Overlay Network! Cloaked in shadows and relentless in its objective, I call upon the most dangerous of dragons! I Xyz Summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (2500 Attack)!” “He just Xyz summoned?!” “How can he do that?!” “Now, I’ll activate my monster’s special ability! By using one Overlay Unit, I can reduce the attack of a monster by half and have my dragon gain those points! And I’ll use both Overlay Units in order to do this twice on the Montage Dragon in the middle (5300 Attack)!” Spike played. “His monster just became stronger than all of ours!”  “Next, I play my trap card Draining Force! Now all monsters on the field that are above level 4 lose all their attack points until the End Phase!” Spike cried out as he played a trap with a picture of a Gogogo Golem being shrunk. “I can’t believe he reduced our attack points to zero!” “It’s over, everyone!” Spike yelled. “No, it isn’t. There are plenty of Security officers here all ready to finish what the others started. On the next turn we can finish you off when our Montage Dragons regain their power,” The lead officer reminded Spike. “There won’t be a next turn! I activate the ability of Dashing Dragon from my graveyard! By banishing it from my graveyard, I can have a monster I control attack all monsters on the field in exchange for no other monster being allowed to attack this turn! Now, Dark Rebellion, put an end to this duel! Mauling Mandible Charge!” Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon proceeded to wipe out all the opposing monsters and reduce everyone’s Life Points to zero. Rainbow Dash, Yusei, and everyone else were shocked to see that Spike had been able to defeat so many Sector Security agents in one move. “Wow Spike! You did amazingly! You sent all those jerks packing in one move!” Rainbow Dash cheered. “Oh, that was nothing. You or Yusei would have found a way to beat everyone on your own too!” Spike said with a blush. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight was laying down on her bed inside of the Arcadia Movement Headquarters. She hadn’t done much for the last few days other than allow for Sayer to do some tests on her. Apparently, she was a Psychic Duelist, one who was capable of causing real damage to their opponents.  She didn’t like the sound of that, but Sayer reassured her that her powers made her special and that while others would give up on her and see her as a monster, here she would be seen as belonging. Twilight was unsure whether or not to trust this Sayer person. After all, she was confident that her friends wouldn’t see anything wrong with her and would accept her regardless of her abilities. Right? Suddenly, one of the Arcadia Movement agents entered her room. “Sayer would like to see you. He wants to test your abilities in a duel against miss Akiza Izinski.” “Uh, okay,” Twilight accepted and began to follow the woman to a dueling arena. In the room were a variety of different psychics facing each other and causing real damage. Twilight was uncomfortable watching the real damage and wondered if her duel would be any better than these duels. “So, Sayer, what is the reason for the Arcadia Movement?” “I’ll make sure to have another of our members talk to you later. For now, why don’t you prep yourself for your duel against my best pupil, Akiza. So, Akiza, ready to duel against this new face?” Sayer asked politely. “I’m ready,” Akiza barked out loyally. “Perfect! Now then, it’s time we get to your duel! Good luck and may the better psychic win!” Sayer cried out as he ran to the sidelines/ “So, can you tell me more about the Arcadia Movement?” Twilight asked Akiza. “Just ask someone else once you are done with accepting your defeat!” Akiza yelled angrily. “Um, excuse me?” Twilight asked, confused with the hostility. “The Arcadia Movement may need to gain more members, but know this! You won’t be taking Sayer away with your incredible psychic powers!” Akiza yelled out. “Oh, you must be confused. I’m not-,” Twilight tried to clear up the misunderstanding. “Whatever! You’ll get the point once I’m through beating you,” Akiza growled. “I’ll take the first move! I summon to the field Twilight Rose Knight (1000 Attack)! With him out on the field, I  can special summon out another plant-type monster. Now rise! Gigantic Cephalotus (1850 Attack)! Now I’ll tune my Twilight Rose Knight with my Gigantic Cephalotus in order to  Synchro Summon Black Rose Dragon (2400 Attack)!”  “A Synchro monster on the first turn? Whoa! You are powerful!” Twilight was in awe and fear as she felt a powerful whirlwind strike in the duel arena. “That’s right! I’m Sayer’s best Duelist, not you! I’ll now end my turn by playing three facedowns!” Akiza yelled as she placed three cards facedown. “Okay, it’s my turn now! I play the spell Dark Magic Curtain! Now, by paying half of my Life Points, I can special summon a Dark Magician from my Deck in exchange for not being able to normal or special summon another monster this turn (Twilight-2000 LP)! Next up, I play the spell card Dark Magic Attack in order to destroy all of your spells and traps!” Twilight played. “Not so fast! I play my trap Magic Plant Barrier in order to negate your spell’s activation and destroy it!” Akiza cried out as she played a trap that had Lord Poison surrounded by a green energy barrier, stopping Twilight’s spell. “I’m not going to make this duel easy for you, Twilight Snarkle!” “Hey! What’s with the insults?! I haven’t done anything to you! I’m just curious and confused and all I’ve been getting is vague answers and hostility! I’m just… feeling lost,” Twilight muttered this last part sadly. “Twilight…,” Akiza started to look sympathetic only for Sayer to interrupt them. “You’ll win this for sure, Twilight!” Sayer gave some support to Twilight, causing Akiza to shift back to angry in an instant. “Whatever! I’m going to win this duel one way or another! Just make your move!” Akiza yelled. “Fine. I play the spell Dark Drain! With it, I can reduce your monster’s attack points to zero and then gain Life Points equal to half that drained amount!” Twilight played a spell that had Dark Magician holding his hand out and casting a dark spell (Twilight-3200 LP). “Now, I’ll attack your Black Rose Dragon with Dark Magic Attack (Akiza-1500 LP)! Had enough?” “No! Not even close! I play my facedown card Wicked Rebirth! Now, by paying 800 Life Points, I can special summon Black Rose Dragon from my graveyard (Akiza-700 LP)! Next, I’ll play Overdoom Line! This card will increase my dragon and any plant monster’s power by 1000 for my next two turns so long as they were summoned from my graveyard (3400 Attack)!” Akiza played. “I end my turn there. So, Akiza? Why do you think that I’m going to take Sayer away from you?” Twilight asked Akiza. “Because he has been doing nothing but talk about you for days and has spent even less time with me or the other Duelists in the Movement. I follow Sayer’s every order perfectly yet he still only praises you even though you’ve only been here for a few days,” Akiza explained. “It’s not like I’ve asked for this. I only want to live as normal a life as possible in spite of my abilities and status back home. Sadly, I may not ever be able to return home as I was considering my psychic powers. I’m sorry Akiza, but I never asked for Sayer’s attention,” Twilight apologized. “Twilight… I’m sorry,” Akiza apologized, much to Twilight’s shock and relief. “I might as well end this duel. I draw! I activate my Black Rose Dragon’s special ability! By removing Gigantic Cephalotus in my graveyard from play, I can reduce your Dark Magician’s attack power to zero (0 Attack)! Now, Black Rose Dragon, end this duel now!” Twilight was knocked off her feet and onto the ground unconscious as her Life Points were reduced to zero, much to Akiza’s horror. “Oh no! Twilight! Are you okay?!” Akiza attempted to rush over to Twilight in concern only to be stopped by Sayer. “Whoa there, Akiza! That will do for now. Your powers are much greater than I initially expected. Twilight was skilled, but not skilled enough. Still, she didn’t do that poorly either. She’ll be of great use to our cause. Well, once she wakes up that is,” Sayer said in an effort to comfort Akiza. However, Akiza, in spite of herself, felt nothing but guilt for what she had just done. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Down in Satellite, at the area where Yusei and his friends hang out at, Yusei was looking at the moon through the crack in the ceiling. The clock on his Duel Runner says it is 11:15. “Yusei,” Rally says, getting his friend’s attention. “I’m praying for your success,” Blitz cheers on Yusei. “I know you can do it. Now that you’ve come this far, I won’t say anything more. Just go!” Nervin says. “And when you meet Jack… well, whatever. Come home as soon as possible,” Tank wishes Yusei luck. “Hey, don’t forget about me. We’re also going with Yusei,” Rainbow Dash announces as she sits on her modified Duel Runner with Spike sitting behind her. Yusei looks apprehensive, but ultimately nods in agreement. “Hey, Yusei, you saw what we are capable of. Don’t worry about either of us getting into trouble. We can take care of ourselves if the need arises,” Spike said with Yusei giving another nod. “Oh, wait,” Rally said as he ran up to Yusei on his Runner. “Here’s a good luck charm.” Rally gives Yusei a card. “This is…” Yusei begins. “Turbo Booster.” Rally continues. “But you love this,” Yusei argues. “Yeah, but it’s fine,” Rally claims. “Use it to get through that pipeline.” Yusei simply nods as he adds Turbo Booster to his Deck. He then starts up his Duel Runner and puts on his helmet. “I promise to return it.” Rally excitedly says, “Do your best.” Yusei proceeds to race off for the pipeline, with Rainbow Dash and Spike following after. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yusei and Rainbow reach the surface and start to race for the factory. Meanwhile, Sector Security is getting the signal for Yusei’s Runner and Rainbow’s Runner and see that it is moving. “This signal! The same Duel Runner as before has appeared! And not only that, but so did the lost Runner!” A man next to a computer informs Trudge. “What?” Trudge growls. “I’m going to switch to the rooftop camera right now,” the man switches to the camera, showing Yusei on Yusei’s red Duel Runner and Rainbow and Spike on the modified Sector Security Runner. “Alright. I’m in pursuit. Don’t lose sight of him!” Trudge yells as he runs to get to his Runner. “Transfer all information to me!” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trudge is racing through the streets to catch up to Yusei. Trudge starts to think, “Damn! I don’t know where he’s planning to go, but this time...I’ll squash him!” Trudge yells aloud. It is now 11:56, a few minutes before the pipeline will be empty. Yusei’s friends are running for the rooftops to check Yusei’s progress. “Look at the time already. Let’s hurry,” Blitz says as the group runs. They climb up onto the rooftops and begin to look for Yusei, Blitz using a pair of binoculars. “Where’s Yusei?” Rally asks the others. “Look, there he is!” Blitz says as he catches sight of Yusei, Rainbow Dash, and Spike. Nervin proceeds to pull out a laptop, showing where Yusei is currently at. “Listen closely. You are not allowed to come any closer. Turn back right now,” A Security member says as Yusei and Rainbow race for the factory. However, he is interrupted by Trudge skidding his Duel Runner right next to Yusei’s.  “We meet again, you piece of garbage. Oh, and I see that you brought your little girlfriend along for the ride and the problem boy is here too,” Trudge mocks the group. “Punks like you are not allowed to come here! Leave!” Yusei refuses to respond as he simply increases his speed. Rainbow, meanwhile, sticks out her tongue at Trudge as she speeds forward as well. “What is that punk planning to do? They can’t be…” Trudge is in disbelief at the sight of the pair racing for the factory. Yusei rushes through a gate blocker and jumps over the fence, with Rainbow Dash following after and Spike holding on tight to make sure he doesn’t fall off. “Control! Hurry up and open the plant’s fences!” Security complies and opens the fences, with him still being a fair distance behind Rainbow, Spike, and Yusei. “Damn those punks! I won’t let them escape!” “Trudge is chasing after him,” Nervin takes note. “Go, Yusei!” Tanks cried out. Trudge starts to get closer to Yusei and Rainbow. “This location is the perfect place to use the special pursuit Deck!” Yusei, Spike, and Rainbow look back in shock. “I forcibly activate the field spell Speed World!” “Duel mode on. Autopilot standby.” Trudge’s computer says. Meanwhile, Yusei’s Runner and Rainbow’s Runner proceeds to do the same thing and Speed World activates. “What?” Yusei is shocked. “Duel mode on. Autopilot standby.” Yusei’s computer says. “He can force us into duels like this?! I can’t believe this!” Rainbow yelled angrily.  “Looks like we’ll be dealing with some problems getting out of Satellite,” Spike muttered. “What is that?” Tank asks, confused. “A field spell!” Rally realizes. “This is not the time for a duel!” Blitz says. “How’s that! This connects with Speed World and pulls the opponent into the field spell! I don’t know where you’re planning to go, but if you want to keep going forward, then you have to battle me! Duel! I go first! I summon Gate Blocker in Defense Position (2000 Defense)!” A giant blue wall appears right in front of Yusei, forcing to slow down a bit. Rainbow and Yusei 4000 Trudge 4000 “Now they won’t be able to increase their speed!” Nervin realizes. “They won’t make it in time!” Rally worries. “Then I set a card and end my turn,” Trudge plays. Much to Yusei and Rainbow’s shock, his Speed Counter don’t increase while Trudge’s do. “Kid, it looks like your Speed Counters aren’t increasing. Normally, when the field spell Speed World is active, we gain a Speed Counter during each Standby Phase. However, when Gate Blocker is faceup on the field, you don’t receive the effect of Speed World! Therefore, your speed spells are…” “...sealed away,” Yusei finishes. “This is an incredible monster that greatly sways the balance of a Duel, so it has limits on when it can be used. However, my Deck is a special Deck that has received special Security privileges, so I can freely use Gate Blocker! You can’t escape from me anymore.” “So that’s the power of authority,” Yusei mutters to himself. “Well, whatever it is, it isn’t fair!” Rainbow huffs. “Hey, we’ve dealt with worse before. We can still summon a monster that can turn this around,” Spike tried to comfort the duo. Meanwhile, the clock hits midnight and the trash stops flowing. “It’s midnight!” Tank notes. “They only have three minutes,” Nervin says. “At this rate, they'll be caught while they’re still dueling!” “Yusei! Break down that wall!” Rally cries out. “I don't like this,” Yusei muttered as he thought about Jack. “I don’t like this. I’m going forward!” “Go, Yusei!” Rally cries out. “My turn. I summon Speed Warrior (900 Attack)!” “I remember that on the turn it’s summoned, its Attack Points are doubled during battle. But that’s not good enough. It’s still less than Gate Blocker’s Defense Points! (1800 Attack)” Rainbow was worried about getting rid of the monster. “Rally, I’m going to use your lucky charm,” Yusei thought. “Then from my hand, I special summon Turbo Booster(0 Attack/Defense).” “It appeared! It’s Turbo Booster!” Rally cried out in joy. “Battle!” Speed Warrior jumped onto two rockets sent out by Turbo Booster. “I release Turbo Booster.” “So you’re even willing to do that,” Trudge murmurs. “Releasing Turbo Booster has that much value,” Yusei says. “Yeah! I’d like to see you understand that, officer,” Rainbow Dash yelled defiantly. “He fired Speed Warrior using Turbo Booster,” Rally said. “Turbo Booster’s monster effect destroys one normal summoned and the opponent’s monster that it battled! This will work!” Blitz explained. “Not good enough. Even if you destroy Gate Blocker, Gate Blocker has greater Defense Points! The damage is going to come back and hurt your Life Points!” Trudge reminded. “I’ll still do it!” Yusei decided as Speed Warrior destroyed Gate Blocker thanks to Turbo Booster. Yusei 3800 Trudge 4000 “He did it! Thank you, Turbo Booster!” Rally joyfully said. “Go, Yusei!” Tank cheered on. Yusei proceeded to turn left in the plant, with Trudge following suit. “Rally, thanks to you, I can go forward.” Yusei and Rainbow finally made a jump down towards the pipeline and proceeded to enter the pipeline. However, Trudge followed after the trio. “Those rats. Are they planning to escape from Satellite?” Trudge wondered. “That garbage don’t know their place.” “Hey, that Security guy also entered,” Nervin protested. “They’re going to Duel inside?” Rally asked. “This is bad! Finish him, Yusei!” Blitz suggested. “So, looks like he figured it out! Still, this guy is persistent if he plans on following us through here,” Rainbow noted. “Agreed. Still, this Trudge guy just lost his big advantage,” Spike pointed out. “That’s what you think! I won’t let you escape! I activate the trap card Broken Blocker!” Two more orange and black Gate Blockers appeared in front of Yusei, Rainbow, and Spike and turned blue. “He still had more,” Tank was disappointed. “I can activate Broken Blocker when a monster in Defense Position whose Defense Points are greater than its Attack Points is destroyed! I can special summon two monsters from my Deck whose names are the same as the monster that was destroyed! See that! This is what authority is all about!” Trudge explained. “Well, Yusei destroyed one of them. He can get rid of two more!” Rainbow Dash countered. “I set two cards and end my turn,” Yusei said. “There are only two minutes left. What are you going to do, Yusei?” Nervin nervously asked. “Yusei is fine. Yusei is going to turn the tables!” Rally yelled. “But there’s less than two minutes left!” Tank countered. “He’s going much slower than during the simulation! That doesn’t even go into the problem that Rainbow Dash and Spike will deal with. They’re less experienced than Yusei.” “My turn. I summon Gonogo in Attack position (1350 Attack)! Go Gonogo! Death Flat!” Gonogo crushed Speed Warrior, dealing damage. Yusei Fudo 3350 Trudge 4000 “Hey! There’s no place to escape!” Trudge said as he ended his turn. “We’ll see about that Trudge! I draw!” Rainbow Dash drew a card and was happy to see that it was Junk Synhron. “It’s here. I summon the Tuner monster Junk Synchron (1300 Attack)! Next, I’ll use Junk Synchron’s ability to revive Yusei’s Speed Warrior! I now play the Speed Spell Dash Pilfer!” Suddenly, her Duel Runner beeped and displayed an Error Message. “What the? Why didn’t my Spell work?!” At this, Spike facepalmed. “Remember, Speed Spells require Speed Counters, something you and Yusei don’t have!” “Oh, right. Well then, we can still turn this around!  Junk Synchron tunes Speed Warrior! The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Come, Junk Warrior (2300 Attack)!” “Then I reveal the continuous trap Graceful Revival! With this, I can special summon one level 2-or-below monster from my graveyard in Attack Position. Come, level 2 monster Speed Warrior!” Yusei played as Speed Warrior returned to the field, increasing Junk Warrior’s attack points (3200 Attack). “Alright! He successfully summoned Junk Warrior!” Tank cried out. “I’m counting on you, Junk Warrior,” Rally said. “Scrap Fist!” Yusei cried out as he had Junk Warrior attack and destroy Gonogo. Yusei Fudo 3350 Trudge 2150 “I’ll place two cards facedown and end my turn. Your move, Trudgy! Unless you’re scared of our dueling skills!” Rainbow mocked Trudge. “This isn’t over yet! I already know your strategies! It’s now going to start getting interesting! My turn!” Trudge smiled upon seeing the card he drew. “I summon Jutte Fighter (700 Attack)!” “A Tuner monster,” Yusei muttered. “That’s right! I can Synchro Summon too! Here I go. Jutte Fighter tunes Gate Blocker! Synchro Summon! Goyo Guardian (2800)! See that! This is authority! Go! Goyo Lariat!” Goyo Guardian attacked and destroyed Junk Warrior.  Yusei Fudo 2850 Trudge 2150 “I’m not done! When Goyo Guardian destroys your monster, it can negate its destruction and take control of it! When this happens, the monster is put in Defense Position! Your monster is mine (1300 Defense)! “One minute forty seconds left! Come on, Yusei, Rainbow! You’re running out of time!” Rally was getting worried. “Next, I play the Quickplay speed spell Double Strike! With it, since I have three or more speed counters, I can perform another attack! Now, Goyo Guardian! Wipe out Speed Warrior!” Trudge cried out as Rainbow looked unconcerned. “Um, Rainbow Dash? Maybe you should do something before Trudge wipes us out!” Spike nervously yelled out. “Don’t worry, Spike! I discard Kuriboh from my hand in order to reduce all the damage we would take to zero!” Rainbow played, defending the duo from additional damage. Trudge was looking very happy upon seeing that he had a total of four Speed Counters while Yusei had none. “Forget the battle damage! My Speed Counter is 4! Alright! I’ll keep piling it on! From my hand, I activate a speed spell! Sonic Buster!” A blast of purple energy went straight for Goyo Guardian. “You used a speed spell,” Yusei simply commented, much to Rainbow Dash’s confusion. At least, until she noticed what card Yusei had played, with her and Spike smiling as they saw the card in question. “Of course. I’m a Turbo Duelist! This card deals damage to your Life Points equal to half the Attack Points of a monster on my field!” Goyo Guardian then sent an energy blast at Yusei and Rainbow Dash. “In other words, you take half of Goyo Guardian’s 2800 Attack Points, which is 1400 Points of damage! Then I activate a second Sonic Buster from my hand!” Goyo Guardian then sent out a second energy burst. Yusei Fudo 50 Trudge 2150 Yusei sped down quite a bit, to the point that he is nearly next to Trudge. “This is bad. He’s right next to Yusei, Spike, and Rainbow!” Nervin commented. “Sucker! You can’t escape from here! Your garbage Deck never had a chance of defeating my Deck!” Trudge gloated. “Hey! Yusei’s Deck is awesome! Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s garbage,” Rainbow Dash countered. “Right, Yusei?” “You keep saying garbage over and over. Don’t you know any other words?” Yusei bitterly asked. “What?” Trudge was confused. “It’s my turn! I summon the Tuner monster Nitro Synchron (300 Attack)!” Yusei cried out. “You don’t have a monster you can Synchro with. Resistance is futile, you piece of garbage!” Trudge mocked. “We have one right there. I play the trap card Speed Reactor! With it I can activate a set speed spell! With it, I’ll activate a speed spell! Dash Pilfer!” Rainbow played. “No way! You don’t have any Speed Counters. How can you use a Speed Spell?” Trudge couldn’t believe it. “We have Speed Counters,” Yusei simply answered. “What?” Trudge looked on his Duel Runner’s screen and saw that Yusei had played the trap card Slip Stream. “Slip Stream? I remember. You planned this back then!” “Alright! I’ll keep piling it on! From my hand, I activate a speed spell! Sonic Buster!” Trudge remembered saying. “That speed spell was the trigger!” Trudge yelled. “That’s right. I was waiting for you to use a speed spell. When I have fewer Speed Counters than you, I can activate this Slip Stream card when you use a speed spell. On my next turn, I will have the same number of Speed Counters as you!” Yusei said as he sped forward away from Trudge, with Rainbow Dash and Spike following after. “You punks! All you have are garbage cards and you still do such annoying things!” Trudge tried to rush forward faster. “Dash Pilfer! Free Junk Warrior!” Junk Warrior went back to Yusei’s field and Rainbow’s in Attack Mode. “We can activate Dash Pilfer when we have four or more Speed Counters! We gain control of one of your face-up Defense Position monsters,” Yusei explained. “This is bad. Yusei has less than a minute to make it through,” Blitz was getting worried. “How about Yusei?” Rally asked. “A little more! Just a little more and he can make it to the maintenance hatch!” Tank cried out encouragingly. “I see! You’re planning to go there!” Trudge realized he was aiming for the maintenance hatch up ahead. “You finally noticed. Garbage is going to start flowing in soon. You can leave,” Yusei said. “Yeah, and you can tell your bosses that Yusei, Spike, and Rainbow made it to the city!” Rainbow Dash cried out. “You must be kidding! Are you both trying to goad me because you know you’re going to lose?” Trudge sped up once more to try and catch the duo. “Here I go!” Yusei yelled as he sped up. “Another Synchro Summon?!” Trudge was shocked. “Nitro Synchron tunes Junk Warrior. Our thoughts combine to call forth a new power! Become the power that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Burn up, Nitro Warrior (2800)! On the turn a speed spell was used, when Nitro Warrior battles your monster, it gains 1000 Attack Points for one time only,” Yusei explained. “What?” Trudge was shocked (3800 Attack). “Nitro Warrior! Destroy him! Dynamite Knuckle!” Yusei Fudo 50 Trudge 1150 “How dare you!” Trudge yelled. “Furthermore… with Nitro Warrior’s monster effect, when it battles and destroys your monster, it can switch one of your Defense Position monsters into Attack Position and battle it,” Yusei said as Gate Blocker switched to Attack Mode (100 Attack). “This monster effect is crazy!” Trudge yelled. “Nitro Warrior’s Attack Points return to 2800, but that’s more than enough to destroy Gate Blocker.” Nitro Warrior attacked and destroyed Gate Blocker, reducing his Life Points to 0, leaving a “Defeat” message on his Duel Runner as he skidded to a halt. “Alright!” Yusei’s friends cheered. “They won the Duel!” Blitz said. “But look at the time,” Nervin noted as the timer hit 0. “Hurry Yusei, Rainbow Dash!” “The maintenance hatch is closing!” Tank cried out. “Yusei!” Rally yelled in concern. Yusei and Rainbow did the best they could to avoid all of the garbage as the hatch began to close. It ended up being a close call, but Yusei and Rainbow were able to get themselves and Spike through the hatch in time. Trudge, however, wasn’t so lucky. He ended up being carried away by piles of trash. “Remember this, I’ll squash you next time!” “How are they?” Tank asked. “It’s no good. There’s no signal,” Nervin said. “They’re fine! Yusei definitely got them through!” Rally yelled. “But!” Tank tried to counter. Suddenly, everyone heard a beeping noise come from the computer. Upon looking, they saw a red blip representing Yusei, Spike, and Rainbow. They made it through. The group smiled upon seeing this. “Like I thought! They made it!” Rally cried out in joy. “Yusei really made it through!” Tank yelled. “Yeah! He’s incredible!” Nervin agreed. Yusei raced out of the plant fairly quickly. However, upon getting out of there, he saw a familiar face standing on the road above. Jack Atlas. Yusei and Rainbow removed their helmets, with Yusei turning his head and addressing Jack, “Jack…” Jack merely laughed before saying, “Long time no see, Yusei.” The two rivals proceeded to stare at each other, with no words being exchanged by anyone present. > The Battle of Destiny! Ace Dragons Clash! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yusei and Rainbow Dash stopped just outside of the plant in Neo Domino City, with Yusei noticing Jack on the road up above. “Jack…” The king proceeded to laugh before saying, “Long time no see, Yusei.” Jack stopped to give Yusei time to speak but he didn’t. So, instead, Jack continued, “When I was looking at the moon, I had a feeling you would show up. How many years has it been?” Yusei answered, “Two years.” “Yeah. Two years since you backstabbed him!” Rainbow yelled. “So, you’re not the only one with a strange girl plastered to you,” Jack was intrigued. “Still, two years… You built a nice Duel Runner. I’m impressed.” “It’s because you rode off with the one I made before,” Yusei bitterly responded. Jack proceeded to grin. “A king never lets a chance pass by.” “Hey! Don’t talk like you did nothing! Remember, you stole the original Runner and Stardust Dragon! Not only that, but you have my card Red Dragon Archfiend! You don’t deserve to wield those dragons!” Rainbow yelled angrily. “What? You also have a Red Dragon Archfiend? It’s a one of a kind card, you know. Still, I’m impressed that someone from that garbage hell owns another copy of my card,” Jack noted. “Well, do you wanna see it in action where he’ll beat some sense into you?” Rainbow asked the king tauntingly. “Calm down, Rainbow Dash. I hate him too, but we’ll get nowhere by being violent,” Spike warned. “No thanks. I would be interested in seeing if Yusei has gotten better, if he has the guts to face me,” Jack refused. “By the way, how did you get a Duel Runner? Did you have Yusei make you one?” Jack wondered. “I won it from a Sector Security officer,” Rainbow answered. “Wait, who is this girl you are talking about?” Spike demanded from the king. “So, Jackie, where are we headed? Also, who are you talking to?” A familiar voice asked the king. When Rainbow land Spike looked up, they were quick to recognize their friend Pinkie Pie getting up and standing next to Jack, her grin growing to be even bigger upon noticing that Rainbow Dash and Spike were on the road below. “Rainbow Dash! Spike! So great to see you! Thanks for finding them for me! So, does this mean we’re friends?” “I told you before. A king doesn’t need friends. Still, I suppose it is interesting that you all know each other,” Jack said. “Anyway, where is my old Runner now?” Yusei interrupted, wanting to know what happened to his Duel Runner. Jack answered, “It broke down by now, of course.” Yusei and Rainbow proceeded to clench their fists upon hearing this. Yusei then demanded, “Where’s my card?” “Stardust Dragon?” Jack asked as he pulled it out of his pocket and held it out in between his index and middle finger. “It was our dream,” Yusei said. “Dream?” Jack asked, confused. “It was the dream of all my Satellite friends.” “You’re still saying those childish things? Now that I’m king, this card is useless to me. You can have it back!” Jack flung the card back to Yusei who proceeded to catch the card and stared at it. “What’s wrong? Put it in your Deck.” “Yeah, Yusei! Go ahead and put it in! This is what you wanted, right?” Rainbow Dash asked. However, Yusei was quick to fling the card back to Jack, stood up, and said, “I’ll get it back from you in a Duel! That’s also why you came, right?” Jack went from confused to grinning in an instant. “Fine. I’m going to enjoy having a Turbo Duel against you!” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yusei and Rainbow Dash were following Jack and Pinkie Pie on their Duel Runner in order to find the location in which they were going to Duel. “Look, Yusei! This is the skyline of Neo Domino City! Neo Domino City never sleeps. It keeps on pulsating and continues to expand. This city is alive and continues to grow endlessly. And from now on, I will continue to reign here as king! You can start to see it from here, Yusei,” Jack said as Yusei turned his attention from Jack to the stadium up ahead. “It’s Duel Stadium.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “It spins! Neo Domino City gives rise to infinite power because it spins! Its name is  “Moment.” Neo Domino City created Moment, the ultimate energy development system, and it keeps spinning. The rotational power led to a huge leap in the development of the Duel Disk, bringing the Solid Vision system to a whole new level! Without the grace of Moment, the development of mankind is not possible,” Zigzig explained in excitement, making several poses as he spoke, panting as soon as he was finished. “Zigzig. As always, I fully understand your love for Moment. Please get to the point,” Rex Goodwin said. “I’m prepared,” Zigzig said. “Is what you have to say so important that you had to call us in the middle of the night?” Rex asked. “Of course! Please listen and watch,” Zigzig said as a red hologram of a blueprint appeared. “We at Kaibacorp’s Moment Research Development Division, also known as MIDS, have finally completed the Neo Domino City Perfect Moment Project! So Neo Domino City now has the most powerful energy, which is also known as God’s Intelligence!” Noticing the lack of enthusiasm with Rex and the others, he calmed down and said, “For specifics, please look at the documents while I explain.”  A blue haired woman approached Rex and whispered something in his ear. “What?” Rex asked. “Zigzig, I apologize, but I must leave because there is a problem that I must deal with. I’m sorry, but I’m excusing myself.” Rex said as he and the blue haired girl left. “Understood,” Zigzig responded. As Rex and the woman named Mina left, Rex asked, “Why didn’t you stop the king? If it’s discovered that he has a connection with the people of Satellite, his glory that we built will crumble in an instant.” “I’m sorry. I did tell him that to try to stop him, but Master Atlas acts like this on perfect nights,” Mina apologized. Rex suddenly grabbed Mina by the throat with his hand in anger. “There is no need for excuses,” Rex responded, with Mina nervously nodding. Satisfied with the response, Rex let Mina go and she backed away from Rex. “Please remember what I said.” Rex began to walk away, with Mina bowing and apologizing, “I’m sorry.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A purple haired man named Lazar was standing watching the workers below him when the door opening behind him suddenly caught his attention. When he turned around, he saw that Rex and Mina were there. “I’ve been waiting for you, Director,” Lazar greeted Goodwin, while giving a disapproving look at Mina. Lazar then turned on the screen in the room, which showed Jack, Pinkie Pie, Yusei, Spike, and Rainbow Dash inside of the Duel Arena. “The king is at Duel Stadium?” Goodwin asked. “This Satellite person also drives a Duel Runner along with his Rainbow haired friend,” Lazar explained. “A perfect night…” Rex Goodwin muttered. “Should I inform Security?” Lazar asked. “No. Not yet,” Rex responded. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in Duel Stadium… Rainbow, Spike, and Pinkie had gotten into the stands in order to watch the upcoming Duel while Jack and Yusei were on the track. “This is my battlefield, Yusei. It feels good to be chased. It makes me feel that I’m the king. A king must always protect his status!” Jack waited for Yusei to speak, but decided to continue when Yusei said nothing. “Defending is more difficult than attacking. However, I’m the king because I fulfill those obligations!” Suddenly, the lights began to turn on as Jack got out a card. After Yusei got over the change in the lighting, he looked and saw that Jack was holding Stardust Dragon. “You’ve already lost your chance to get Stardust back! You made a foolish choice!” Jack said as he placed Stardust Dragon into his Deck.  Both Jack and Yusei prepared their Duel Runners for their Duel. “Now, let’s have some fun, though it’s a little sad that there are no spectators,” Jack said. Rainbow Dash yelled in response, “You’ll be glad that there are no spectators when you lose!” “Dashie, don’t be rude! Jackie just wants to have a fun duel with Yusei,” Pinkie Pie defended. “Jackie?” Spike was confused. Jack was a little upset at the insult, but hid it well. He then pushed the button for Speed World to activate. “Duel Mode on. Autopilot Standby.” Both Duel Runners were ready for the Duel. The sky around everyone turned purple as the Duel was about to begin. “Duel!” Both Duelists yelled as they began driving. “Challenger, you go first!” Jack offered to his former friend. “My turn! I summon Quillbolt Hedgehog in Defense Position (800 Defense).” Yusei played. “I haven’t seen that in awhile. My turn. I summon Mad Archfiend in Attack Position (1800 Attack). Yusei, watch how the king Duels in amazement! Destroy it! Bone splash! Now Mad Archfiend’s monster effect! You take piercing damage!” Yusei 3000 Jack 4000 “Do you understand? By preempting your actions, I protect myself. You probably thought that even if you have weak monsters, you won’t take damage as long as you put them in Defense Position. Those tiny seams eventually become large tears. You will never be able to reach Stardust!” Jack explained. “You talk too much,” Yusei simply responded. “You tell him, Yusei!” Rainbow yelled. “Now, time to turn this Duel around!” “Good luck to both of you!” Pinkie Pie cried out. “Umm, Pinkie, who’s side are you on?” Rainbow asked. “Both sides, of course,” Pinkie responded as Rainbow shook her head. “You do know that Jack  is the bad guy here, right?” Spike asked Pinkie Pie.  “No. What, did he rob a bank?” Pinkie Pie asked. “No! He stole Yusei’s Duel Runner and Stardust Dragon card!” Rainbow yelled. “That’s mean! But who knows? Maybe they can patch things up after the duel,” Pinkie Pie optimistically said. “Right off the bat, the pace belongs to the king. He uses his words and voice as weapons to overwhelm the challenger. That boy will not be able to defeat the king,” Lazar said as he snickered. Rex, meanwhile, was watching without saying a word. “My turn! I summon the Tuner monster Junk Synchron (1300 Attack)!” “He’s initiating his plan,” Jack thought. “With Quillbolt Hedgehog’s monster effect, when a Tuner monster is on my field, I can summon it from the graveyard.” “I knew you would do that. Now do your tuning!” “Here I go! Junk Synchron tunes Quillbolt Hedgehog! The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Come, Junk Warrior (2300 Attack)!” Yusei played. “You brought it out much earlier than I expected!” Jack noted.  “Overestimating yourself will lead to your self-destruction, Jack! Junk Warrior, Attack Mad Archfiend! Scrap Fist!” Junk Warrior punched out Mad Archfiend effortlessly. “Great job, Yusei! Now, keep it up!” Rainbow Dash cheered Yusei on, while Jack seemed unconcerned. “Come on Jack, you can still win!” Pinkie Pie cried out. Yusei 3000 Jack 3500 “My turn!” Jack drew the card Spacegate and smiled. “I summon Twin-Shield Defender in Defense Position! Then I set one card and end my turn!” “Why didn’t he attack? What can that facedown card be?” Yusei thought. “Now it’s your turn, Yusei!” Jack reminded his opponent. “From my hand, I summon Speed Warrior (900 Attack)! With Junk Warrior’s monster effect, the Attack Points of Level 2-or-below monsters on my field are added to Junk Warrior’s Attack Points. Power of Fellows (3200 Attack)!” “Your strategies haven’t changed at all,” Jack noted. Yusei growled,”Battle! With Speed Warrior’s monster effect, its original attack points are doubled on the turn in which is summoned (1800 Attack)! Break through! Sonic Edge!” Speed Warrior destroyed Twin-Shield Defender, only for a strange energy to be left behind, which Yusei was not happy to see. “It’s Twin-Shield Defender’s monster effect. When this card is destroyed in battle while it is in Defense Position, the Attack Points of one of your monsters is halved until the end of the turn (1600 Attack),” Jack explained. “However, the monster you had as your shield is gone!” Yusei took a look at the facedown card Jack had. “I will attack without fear,” Yusei thought. “Junk Warrior, attack the player directly!” Jack smirked upon hearing this. “Scrap Fist!” Yusei 3000 Jack  1900 “Hey, Rainbow. Have you noticed that all the cards that Jack has played so far are all cards that are in your Deck?” Pinkie Pie noted. Rainbow noted this, but tried to deny it, “It’s probably just a coincidence.” “Well, to be fair, you share quite a few cards with Yusei as well,” Spike reminded Rainbow. “Good point,” Rainbow was much more okay with admitting. “You’re no good,” Jack replied to Yusei. “What?” Yusei was confused. “You look calm on the surface, but you quickly get hotheaded. That’s the reason why you always lost against me!” “What?” “You are afraid of me! That’s why you repeatedly become impatient and Attack and don’t realize that I’ve been playing you like a puppet!” Jack revealed. “Play me like a puppet?” Yusei thought. “The requirements to use this have been met. I activate the continuous trap Spacegate!” Yusei and his monsters were all blinded by the light that formed. Eventually, the light cleared and two light orbs surrounded Jack’s Duel Runner. “Stargate gains Gate Counters equal to the number of times your monsters battled this turn. You initiated battle twice. Therefore, it gains two Gate Counters!” “I can’t believe that Jack was able to trick Yusei like that!” Spike yelled. “I place one card facedown and end my turn,” Yusei said as Speed Warrior’s Attack Points returned to 900 and Junk Warrior’s to 3200. “He lured me into attacking him directly.” Yusei thought to himself. “The pace is still with Atlas,” Mina said. “That boy isn’t bad, but the king has played him like a puppet from the start, so he still has much to learn,” Lazar laughed as Rex Goodwin just watched the Duel with interest. Jack laughed as he said, “I sense it! I sense it, Yusei! You’re unsure of yourself!” Jack proceeded to rush forward and steered his Runner so that it is going backwards down the glass of the track. “I pretend to be in trouble, but then with a brilliant counterattack, I bring catharsis to the crowd! This is how a king Duels!” “You talk too much,” Yusei simply responded. “While the chased is full of confidence, the chaser is nervous! Yusei! Right now, you’re the chaser and I’m the chased! My turn!” Jack yelled as he repositioned his Runner to drive forward again. “Here it comes,” Yusei realized. “I activate a speed spell Speed Fusion! This card is a speed spell-specific fusion card. I can activate this when I have four or more Speed Counters. The cards I’m going to fuse are these cards. I fusion summon by fusing Big Piece Golem and Medium Piece Golem together. Come, my servant. Multiple Piece Golem (2600 Attack)!” Jack yelled as he summoned his powerful fusion monster. He waited for Yusei to speak but he didn’t say anything. “Multiple Piece Golem, destroy Speed Warrior!” “I activate the trap card Defense Draw! When I take damage due to an attack by your monster, the battle damage becomes zero and I get to draw one card,” Yusei responded to the attack. “I knew that would be your facedown card. You always improvise to avoid danger. However, since Speed Warrior is gone, Junk Warrior’s Attack Points decrease (2300 Attack).” Jack turned around to drive backwards yet again. “Now Yusei! The time has come! I’ll show you how a king duels! At the end of the battle phase in which Multiple Piece Golem battled, I can undo the fusion to special summon the fusion-material monsters from the graveyard. Next up is Medium Piece Golem’s (1600 Attack) monster effect. When Big Piece Golem (2100 Attack) is on my field, I can special summon a certain monster from my Deck. That monster is Small Piece Golem (1100 Attack)!” “It’s getting busy over there,” Yusei commented on Jack’s field. “Wow, Rainbow Dash! I think I’ve seen a move like that before,” Pinkie Pie said. “It’s familiar because I’ve done that move before! I can’t believe it! Jack Atlas really is using some of my cards!” Rainbow Dash bitterly yelled. “Whoa Rainbow Dash! Maybe you should calm down. I know! How about we talk about what happened to us while we were separated?” Pinkie Pie offered. “If it gets me to stop thinking about Atlas as much, then fine,” Rainbow accepted.  “I haven’t normal summoned yet this turn. I summon the Tuner monster Dark Resonator (1300 Attack)! Level 3 Dark Resonator tunes level 5 Big Piece Golem! The pulse of the king now forms a line here! Witness the power of the rumbling heavens! Synchro Summon! My soul! Red Dragon Archfiend (3000 Attack)!” “Red Dragon Archfiend…” Yusei muttered. “Yusei, look at the figure of the ominous and beautiful Red dragon Archfiend. However, this isn’t the end. I’ve invited a special guest for tonight. I send Spacegate to the graveyard. With Spacegate, I can special summon a monster whose level is equal or less than the number of Gate Counters! I special summon the Tuner monster Sinister Sprocket (400 Attack)! This is a level 1 monster. And I use this to tune level 3 Small Piece Golem and level 4 Medium Piece Golem. Witness the wings guided by a great wind! Synchro Summon! Roar, Stardust Dragon (2500 Attack)!” “Stardust…” Yusei muttered in awe at the beauty of his own monster as well as the issue of it being used against him. “Director, this is…” Mina muttered. “It’s nothing to be surprised about. It’s something that the king can do easily. Mina, even though you’re always by the king’s side, do you know anything about him?” Mina gave an angry glare at this remark. “Now… this is becoming fun, Director.” Rex Goodwin simply replied, “Let’s watch them.” Jack proceeded to laugh heavily at the current situation. “Everyone who needs to be here are now present! I’ve raised the curtain on this party. Let Act 1 begin!” Jack went back to laughing. “The overwhelming pressure from the two dragons is magnificent. Yusei, do you feel your soul trembling? Against the king and his dragons, all you can do is be scared!” Jack yelled. “I swear I’ll get it back! My turn!” Yusei yelled. “Wait, so Jack is actually from the Satellite?” Pinkie Pie asked Rainbow. “Yeah! The so called king of Neo Domino City came from the slums. It’s pretty funny when you think of it,” Rainbow Dash said, laughing at the irony. “Maybe. It is kinda sad that Jack became such a unempathetic jerk after everything that happened,” Spike said sadly. “I summon Shield Warrior in Defense Position (1600 Defense)! Then I change Junk Warrior from Attack Position to Defense Position (1300 Defense). Then I set one card facedown. I end my turn,” Yusei said. “They're both in Defense Position? And you were so gung-ho just now. Stardust is waiting for you!” Jack said as he drove past Yusei. Eventually, Jack turned around and started driving after Yusei. “It’s my turn!” Jack placed the card he drew into his hand. “Let’s battle! Red Dragon Archfiend, attack Junk Warrior! Tremble before the Crimson Hammer! Absolute Powerforce!” Both of Yusei’s monsters were destroyed by the attack. “Junk Warrior and Shield Warrior, I’m sorry,” Yusei apologized in his head. “This is the attack of the king! Monsters that don’t want to fight are useless on the king’s battlefield. The only thing they can do is be destroyed! Due to Red Dragon Archfiend’s monster effect, all your monsters in Defense Position are destroyed!” “I can’t believe it’s this powerful…” Yusei thought. “There’s more to the king’s stage. I’ll inflict pain that you’ve never felt before! Stardust Dragon,” Jack was ready to attack again. “Stardust…” “Attack him directly!” Yusei 500 Jack 1900 “This must be humiliating. You’re losing Life Points to Stardust, a monster that used to belong to you!” Jack said. “Master Atlas is impressive. He’s controlling the two dragons skillfully,” Mina said in awe. “He’s the king, after all. This fight will add to the history of the king’s undefeated legend,” Lazar said. “It’s your turn. Entertain the king with your antics!” Jack cried out. “This is bad. One more attack and Yusei will lose,” Rainbow Dash muttered. “My turn. I summon Sonic Chick in Defense Position (300 Defense)!” Yusei played. “Sonic Chick? That’s a mediocre monster,” Jack said. “Sonic Chick cannot be destroyed in battle against monsters with 1900 or more Attack Points. This is the appropriate monster in this situation. I set a card and end my turn,” Yusei ended  his turn. “Bring it, Jack. Bring it, Red Dragon Archfiend! The more you display your power, the more my cards shine when they combine their strengths! I’m counting on you, Sonic Chick,” Yusei thought. “My turn! Yusei! No matter what your strategies are, you’re powerless against my strength! Let’s battle! Red Dragon Archfiend, attack Sonic Chick! The monster effect that prevents it from being destroyed doesn’t work against Red Dragon Archfiend. With my monster effect, all your monsters in Defense Position are destroyed. Take this! Demon Meteor!” However, to Jack’s shock, Sonic Chick wasn’t destroyed. “What? It wasn’t destroyed?” Lazar was similarly shocked. “So you used a trap?” Jack asked. “That’s right! This is a trap against your so-called Absolute Power.” Yusei said. “That trap is Remote Revenge,” Jack said. “Remote Revenge can be activated when an effect that destroys a monster on my field is activated. It negates that effect, and all monsters in Attack Position on your field are destroyed! Feel the power of your own Red Dragon Archfiend! “ Yusei explained. “Another foolish choice! That won’t reach Red Dragon Archfiend! Look at Stardust’s monster effect!” Jack yelled as Stardust took the blow. “With Stardust Dragon’s monster effect, when an effect that destroys a card on the field is activated, it can negate that effect by releasing this card. I’m sure you knew that. What wonderful revenge. You performed the last rites that released Stardust. My Red Dragon Archfiend isn’t hurt at all! Look, Yusei! Look how beautifully Stardust Dragon wilts away! I set two cards. At the end of the turn, my monster’s monster effect activates from the graveyard! Resurrect, Stardust Dragon (2500 Attack)! It’s Stardust Dragon’s monster effect! If it released itself to activate its monster effect this turn, it can be summoned from the graveyard to the field at the end phase! The Second Act begins!” “Yes, the Second Act,” Yusei said with a smile. “I activate my trap card! Harmonia Mirror! With Harmonia Mirror, when a Synchro Monster is special summoned on to the opponent’s field in a method other than a Synchro Summon, I can special summon that Synchro Monster on to my field!” “Yay! Yusei has his Stardust Dragon back!” Pinkie Pie cried out. “I see. Of course you knew about that effect. That’s how you used Stardust's effect to your own advantage.” “Soar, Stardust Dragon (2500 Attack)! King! The real Second Act begins! Do you remember what you told me? ‘In a Duel, you can’t win if you only use Monsters. You can’t win if you only use traps or spells either. The true meaning appears when everything becomes one. And the most important thing you need to achieve victory is right here.’ You never told me what it was. However, I’ve found the answer!” Yusei cried out. “I’ll listen to your answer,” Jack responded. “It’s the soul of a Duelist that believes in all cards! That soul called Stardust back to me. There’s meaning in every monster and card that’s destroyed and released. All of it was for this moment! Look, Jack. This is how Stardust should appear!” Yusei answered. “Those two are facing each other? I’m excited to see what will happen,” Lazar responded as Rex motioned his hand to silence him. Jack proceeded to laugh. “Yusei, you’re successfully fulfilling your pathetic role. Fine. The king’s excellent Dueling will finish you in the Second Act! Bring it!” “My turn! I activate my speed spell Silver Contrails! One wind attribute monster on my field gains 1000 Attack Points (3500 Attack).  Stardust Dragon, attack Red Dragon Archfiend! Roar! Shooting Sonic!” Suddenly, Yusei and Jack felt a weird feeling on their arms. “My arm aches… What is this sensation?” Meanwhile, the Moment Reactor was going crazy. Stardust Dragon’s attack failed to destroy Red Dragon Archfiend. “Your attack is negated!” Jack yelled. Sonic Chick was then destroyed. “Sonic Chick?” “It’s my trap card Synchro Deflector. The attack against a Synchro Monster on my field is deflected, and the monster with the fewest Attack Points on your field is destroyed. How foolish can you get? You caused your own destruction!” Jack cried out. “The effect of Silver Contrails has worn off (2500 Attack). In that case, I summon Ghost Gardna from my hand in Defense Position (1900 Defense)!” “So you’re trying to protect Stardust.” “I set two cards and end my turn.” Yusei felt a weird feeling on his arm again. The phone was beeping, waiting for someone to answer. Mina pressed the button to answer the phone, generating a hologram of Zigzig. “I apologize for what happened previously. This is Zigzig.” “What do you want?” Rex Goodwin asked the scientist. “Moment is currently gigantic! It’s becoming out of control!” “Record the entire situation.” “As you wish.” Zigzig said as he bowed his head. Rex Goodwin returned his attention to the Duel. “My turn!” Jack yelled as he felt his arm give off a strange pulse again. Jack, however, did smile upon seeing the card he drew. “Let’s have our dragons clash! Battle! Red Dragon Archfiend, attack Stardust Dragon!” Jack yelled as he pointed towards the sky. “Absolute Powerforce!”  Before the attack could hit, Ghost Gardna got in the way of the attack. “So you arrived, Ghost Gardna!” “Ghost Gardna’s monster effect changes the target of the attack to itself,” Yusei explained. “Ghost Gardna will be the one to battle Red Dragon Archfiend!” “I knew that! When Ghost Gardna is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, it lowers the Attack Points of one of the opponent’s monsters by 1000 until the end of the turn. Now Stardust’s Attack Points are greater than Red Dragon Archfiend’s (2000 Attack)!” “I activate a trap! Counterattack Beacon! Counterattack Beacon activates when a monster on my field is destroyed due to your monster’s attack!” Yusei said as he rode backwards like Jack did earlier. “One of the monsters on my field gains 500 Attack Points, and it is forced to battle against the monster that attacked (3000 Attack)!” “Yeah! Now Stardust Dragon can finally destroy Red Dragon Archfiend!” Rainbow Dash was getting excited. “Keep it up, Yusei!” Pinkie Pie cheered. “Interesting. You also want to finish things right here!” Jack said. Suddenly, both of their right arm’s pulsed again, with Rainbow and Pinkie also having their arms pulse as well. “Battle!” Yusei cried out. “I’m the one who will lower the curtains! I activate the trap Prideful Roar! By paying 1000 Life Points, Red Dragon Archfiend’s Attack Points become 300 points more than Stardust Dragon’s Attack Points (3300 Attack)!” Jack responded. Yusei 500 Jack  900 “Oh my. It’s unlike the king to perform such a risky strategy,” Lazar said. “He gave up his own Life Points to give power to Red Dragon Archfiend.” Rex, meanwhile, remained silent. “Battle! Take this! Scorching Crimson Hellflare!” Jack yelled. “Roar! Shooting Sonic!” Yusei yelled. As both dragon’s breath attacks collided, the four individuals in the arena felt a strange pulse on their arm. Meanwhile, the Moment Reactor was going crazy. After the collision, Stardust Dragon was still standing. “What? Why can't it destroy Stardust Dragon? Red Dragon Archfiend has greater Attack Points!” Instead of a verbal answer, Yusei’s Shield Warrior appeared on Yusei’s side of the field. “Shield Warrior? But that card was sent to the graveyard!” “Its effect is meaningful when it’s in the graveyard. By removing it from play from the graveyard, it can negate the destruction of a monster due to battle once. However, due to that attack, I still lose 300 Life Points,” Yusei explained. Yusei 200 Jack  900 “Hey, Pinkie Pie, what do you think this pulsing sensation is all about?” Rainbow Dash asked. “I dunno,” Pinkie shrugged. “I don’t know either. Nothing like this has ever happened before,” Spike was curious. “Prideful Roar’s effect has also worn off. Red Dragon Archfiend is back to 2000 Attack Points,” Yusei continued as red energy formed around the two dragons. “The king doesn’t lose. Speed spell!” Suddenly, Jack’s arm pulsed again. “Again?” Yusei’s arm also pulsed. “What’s this sensation?” A red mark began to form on Yusei’s arm. “This is…” Jack also got a red mark. “What’s happening?”  The red energy started to take the form of a red dragon. “What?” Yusei was confused and so were the others, except for Rex Goodwin who grinned. Yusei and Jack’s eyes turned red as well. “It’s incredible, Director! Something incredible is happening! It has passed the critical point!” Zigzig said on the phone as Rex continued watching the red dragon. “What is that? This is the Final Act! I activate a speed spell! End of the Storm!” Jack cried out. “I’m counting on you, Stardust! And this will be the Final Act! I activate my trap card!” Before the card could activate its effect, a hurricane type wind blew both Duelists away. The power of Moment continued to surge until, suddenly, the power was cut off. “What’s going on?” Mina asked, confused as to what occurred. Rex remained quiet as power all across the city went out. Just as suddenly, the power came back on. “We switched to emergency power,” Lazar muttered. Mina tried to turn the visuals back on, only for nothing to happen. “The visuals aren’t coming back.” The red dragon soared into the air above the stadium. Just as suddenly as it had appeared, it disappeared, leaving the Duel unfinished. A bunch of steam was leaving both Duel Runners. Jack got up as his arm glowed. “What was that?” Yusei got up as well. “It’s hot.” Feeling something weird on his arm, he removed his glove and pulled up his right sleeve to see a red glowing mark on his arm. “What is this?” Both Duelists looked at each other, both noticing that the other had a mark as well.  Meanwhile in the stands, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash noticed that they had blue glowing marks on their arms, with Rainbow’s being the same one as Jack’s. “What do you think that these marks are?” Rainbow asked. “I dunno, but a mark just like this one appeared on my arm a few days ago. This Rex guy seemed to be very interested in it,” Pinkie explained what little she knew as the two went down to where Yusei and Jack were. “Moment’s rotations are decreasing. The power in a two block radius around headquarters has stopped. I’m sorry,” Zigzig apologized. “Please hurry in restoring the city,” Rex ordered Zigzig. “What about Master Atlas?” Mina asked. Rex looked at Lazar, who proceeded to bow. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Rarity was lying on the couch thinking about what had happened and wondering where her friends were, the lights in the room suddenly went out. Not only that, but a blue claw mark had appeared on her arm. “What in the world?” Rarity was confused. In order to make sure that Leo and Luna were fine, she went into their bedroom. Both had woken up and seemed to be fine, only to see that Luna’s arm was glowing red with a claw mark. “Rarity? What’s happening?” Luna asked as she got up only for her claw mark to disappear. “I don’t know,” Luna pulled up her shirt sleeve, seeing that she had a non-glowing version of this mark was on her arm now. “I don’t get it. What was with our marks?” “I don’t know. I just want to know why I don’t have one,” Leo said. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yusei gripped his mark, and as suddenly as it had appeared it disappeared, though Jack’s remained on his arm except it stopped glowing. Before things could continue, blinding lights suddenly turned on. “This is Neo Domino City Sector Security. Satellite citizens are not allowed into Neo Domino City without permission. By order of the public maintenance department, you are under arrest. That goes for your Rainbow haired associate as well.” “What should we do about the kid?” One Security Officer asked. “He’s with me. Leave him alone,” Jack simply said, not wanting to see a kid incarcerated. > Look at My Treasured Deck! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A mysterious young man was walking down hallway after hallway in a mysterious building in the Satellite Sector. What he was looking for couldn’t be found out that easily. Still he cautiously walked on until he came across a room filled with drawers. Upon opening one, he saw that there were many rare cards. He picked some up to place in his bag, saying, “There’s good stuff in here.” As the young man placed piles of cards into the bag, he saw right next to him a bright flash occur. When he looked back over there he saw a lady about his age with western clothes and a brown hat. “Land sakes! That was some strange magic! I wonder where we- wait a gosh darn second. Where am I and where is everyone else?!” Applejack was confused. “Easy. You’re in Sector Security’s storage room. Here is where cards and a bunch of other stuff is held onto. I’m here to get myself some cards. What about you? Are you here to steal some cards too?” The man asked warily as he continued to grab cards and place them into his bag. At this, Applejack got angry, “No! I’m not here to steal cards! I don’t even know how I got here! And why are you gonna steal cards?! Plan on preventing some young kids from getting cards to duel with?!” “What are you talking about?! Sector Security is keeping cards in here without an owner to begin with! They love to oppress the people of Satellite! But you would know that seeing as how we’re stuck in Satellite! Now, tell me why you’re here and why you appeared in that strange light!” The man demanded. “I was gonna visit Duel Academy with my friends when we got teleported to who knows where!” Applejack hotly answered. “Duel Academy? Well, sounds like you aren’t from around here, lady. In Satellite, you’re not even allowed to own cards. Hasn’t stopped people from forming gangs and dueling for power and respect. Name’s Crow Hogan by the way. Figure I should at least be given a title rather than the random crook,” Crow muttered. “A’m Applejack, but so what?! Are you part of some gang looking to steal from authority?! Look, it may suck not being allowed to duel, but stealing is still stealing!” Applejack yelled out. “No! I already have myself a deck! I’m just getting cards for-,” Crow tried to explain, only for Applejack to interrupt. “It doesn’t matter why you’re stealing the cards! Even if you have a good reason, stealing is wrong and you could get yourself in trouble with the authorities!” Applejack yelled. “Look, I’m outta here! I’m not gonna let myself get into a pickle because of your stealing!” Applejack yelled as she began to leave.  “Hey, watch it!” Crow yelled as he stopped grabbing cards and grabbed Applejack by the shoulders. “If you’re not careful, you could get us caught! Even if you don’t care about me, care about the fact that you could be locked up with me if you’re not careful! Sector Security will make you an accomplice to my crime, even if you explain you did nothing! So, I’d just stay here until I’m done and then leave with some help, understood?” Applejack stood there for a good moment thinking things over. After all, she hated the idea of stealing these cards and wanted out of this situation. However, she needed to find her friends and doubted she could find them without some help. So, she begrudgingly grumbled. “Fine. But if you double cross me I’m leaving, got it?” “Wouldn’t dream of it,” Crow snarked at Applejack’s attitude, which didn’t appeal to Applejack at all. As Crow was about to grab more cards, a device on Crow beeped. “As expected, they brought it for me.” Crow said with a smile. “Lady, looks like we’re going now! Though, with this much baggage, I can’t use the street that I came in. Looks like it’s plan B!” Crow said as he put on a pair of infrared goggles. “Hey, what are-?” Applejack was confused. Upon seeing the invisible lasers, Crow smirked again. “Sweet! Plan B is my favorite!” Come on, lady, let’s go!” Crow said as he grabbed Applejack’s hand and they ran. Meanwhile, in the security room… “What is that?!” One man asked. “It’s the corridor in the storage area!” The other man answered. “There’s nothing on the security cameras!”  “I’ll change the channel!” At this, the security people saw Applejack and Crow running. “It’s a fake screen! Emergency! Someone broke into the storage area! All workers, capture them! I repeat, some people broke into the storage area!” As Crow and Applejack were running, two guards were chasing after them.  “Freeze!” “There’s no escape! Stop running right now and drop onto the floor!” “Oh, we’ll drop down to the floor, all right. The ground floor! You’re not capturing us!” Crow yelled as the duo jumped through a window, with Applejack screaming in fear, though trying to correct her fall in order to land safely.  The two landed on a big Security truck and then Crow had them both jump onto the black Duel Runner, with Crow grabbing his Duel Disk to place into place on his Duel Runner. “Wha-? What is this thing and why with the-? What is going on?!” Applejack demanded. “You’re really chatty, you know that?” Crow snarked as he placed on his helmet, ready to ride. “Thanks for bringing this over here. I need it to escape! Catch us if you can, officers! Oh, and hold on tight lady!” Crow taunted as he rode off, Applejack grabbed on to him tightly. “Hurry up and close it!” A Security officer yelled out as some men tried to close the gate around Sector Security’s building. “It’s gonna be close!” Crow said as he looked confident, even as the gate fully shut. “Uh, can you tell me what ya plan on doing now?!” Applejack yelled out. Rather than answer, Crow jumped his Duel Runner over the gate, much to the shock of everyone but him. “Give me some credit, lady! I’m used to outsmarting these goons!” Meanwhile, the gate opened again and the Security guards raced on after them, with one in particular keeping up with the duo. “Catch us if you can!” “Just so ya know, A’m not affiliated with him!” Applejack yelled out. “Yeah, keep making excuses lady! Still, they’re getting away! If Crow escapes again, the captain’s gonna make me a crossing guard! And I ain’t going back to school! So if this punk and his girlfriend want to speed, I’ll make him do it with his deck. I activate Speed World!” The Security officer yelled out. “Now there’s no way outta here without a duel!” “Overriding suspect’s Duel Runner. Duel mode engaged. Autopilot engaged,” The computer said as a duel setup appeared on both Runners’ screens. “Alright, what is goin’ on here?!” Applejack questioned, confused. “It’s a Speed Duel, or rather Turbo Duel. These guys really don’t know who they’re dealing with, do they? But I guess they’re going to have to find out the hard way!” Crow said to Applejack, before returning to focusing on the Security officer. “When your boss asks ya who beat you tonight, tell ‘em it was Crow!” “Let’s duel!” Both the Officer and Crow yelled. “Well, this is happenin’,” Applejack commented worriedly. “You’ll never beat me, copper!” Crow taunted. “Oh, I’ll beat you, and then it’s straight to the Facility!” The Security Officer yelled. “Okay? So, can ya tell me what the Facility is?” Applejack asked curiously. “You don’t wanna know! From all I know it’s a terrible place. One of my friends even died there a few years back,” Crow answered. “Oh. A’m sorry,” Applejack genuinely apologized. “Look, thanks for your concern, but right now we need to focus on not going there ourselves. And to do that, we need to win this duel! It’s your move, copper!” Crow yelled out. “It’s my move, Crow! I summon Gate Blocker in Defense Mode (2000 Defense)!” The officer yelled as the wall monster blocked Crow’s path. “Next up I’m playing three facedowns and ending my turn!” “Then it’s my move? Good to know!” Crow yelled as he drew a card, only for the Speed Counters to not go up. “Hey! My Speed Counters! They’re stuck at one!” “You learn quick perp! With Gate Blocker out there, your Duel Runner’s stuck in neutral, which means that your Speed Counters are all locked up!”  “Nice monster,” Crow sarcastically said. “Now, I think I’ll show ya mine!” “Hold on. What’s a Speed Counter?” Applejack asked, confused. “Really?! Where did you come from to not know this?!” Crow demanded. “Another dimension?” Applejack answered. “You’re kidding, right?” Crow asked, not quite believing her. “A’m not one for lying. Just trust me on that,” Applejack said. “Fine. I’ll tell you what a Speed Counter is later. Just know that I can’t play any Speed Spells right now,” Crow said. “Go ahead and make your move, Crow! You don’t get to be one of Neo Domino City’s finest unless you know how to duel! I got three cards waiting to take him down. First up: Sakuretsu Armor! This piece of hardware takes out his monster as soon as it attacks! Facedown number two: Dust Tornado! This will blow away his spells and traps. And finally number three: Intercept! As soon as he releases a monster to upgrade to something bigger, it comes over to my side of the field! So no matter what move he tries to make, he and his girlfriend will never outrun the long arm of the law!” The Security officer thought to himself. “Hey, Crow! How does it feel knowing you both are gonna be a jailbird after the next round?!” “He has a point. I know a lot about duelin’, and I can tell that he likely has nasty surprises with his facedown cards,” Applejack noted. “I doubt that I’ll lose, you two! Cause I’m playing Blackwing- Sirocco the Dawn (2000 Attack)! Ha! When I control no monsters and my opponent does, I can normal summon him without releasing any cards!” Crow pointed out. “I’m gonna ground that piece ‘a poultry permanently!” The officer warned. “Don’t think so, Officer, cause now I’m summoning: Blackwing-Gale the Whirlwind (1300 Attack)! And now that I have those two feathered friends in play, there’s only one thing left to do. I summon another Blackwing to the field called Bora the Spear (1700 Attack)!” “Wow! He definitely is skilled ta have three monsters out in one turn. Still, that may not be enough,” Applejack was wary. “Guess when I called you a bird brain, I was right! You see, those three birds are worthless; they’re all too weak to get through my Gate Blocker!” The Officer gloated. “Really, but what if I hatch one of their special abilities? Blackwing Whirlwind, cut his monster’s Defense Points in half! Guess they don’t teach that at the police academy! Whirlwind, do your stuff!” Crow cried out (1000 Defense)! “And now, I’ll activate a trap from my hand! And this one goes by Delta Crow Anti Reverse!” “From yer hand? But how…,” Applejack was caught off guard. “You can’t do that!” Everyone present but Crow cried out in confusion. “Well, maybe you all need to learn some more, because I can when I have three or more Blackwings on my field! After all, birds of a feather flock together, and you’re on the wrong side of the nest! Now my Delta Crow destroys all the cards that are on your field’s spell and trap card zones!” Crow explained. “He was prepared for that as well. I have to admit, Crow. You definitely a skilled Duelist if nothin’ else,” Applejack reluctantly admitted. “Thanks! Now, let’s finish this! So, let’s check out Sirocco’s special ability! Instead of all three of my Blackwings attacking one at a time, Sirocco combines their attack points onto one monster for the turn in one master blast! (5000 Attack) Oh, and if your captain asks how this “bird brain” took out his Sector Security saps in one round, just tell him I did it with a move I learned from my last stay at the Facility,” Crow said, ready to end the duel. “F-Five thousand attack points?!” The officer was shocked and worried. “And next I’m activating Bora’s special ability to deal piercing damage, which will swoop in and swipe the last of your Life Points! Looks like this jailbird is about to sprout some wings and fly off into the sunset! Go, Black Spiral Bear! (Security-0 LP)” Crow ended the duel. The Sector Security officer’s Duel Runner stopped with a Defeat message appearing on the screen as it screeched to a halt as Crow triumphantly rushed by.. “Do something! He and his partner are getting away!” One officer in a van yelled to his partner. “Not unless they can fly!” His partner said as they looked at a screen that showed there was a large gap up ahead. “Um, can ya maybe stop now and hope we get off easy? Cause we’re headin’ straight for a ledge!” Applejack yelled out as Crow just smiled and sped up. “No way! He’s gonna fall right off the edge!” The officer was shocked at what appeared to be suicide. “Any plans ta not die right now?” Applejack nervously asked. “Trust me, I do! It’s time this crow spread its wings. Take off!” Crow yelled out as the Duel Runner had wings appear from the sides and started to glide over the cliff. “He’s flying!” Both Officers yelled out in shock. Soon, both of the Runner’s passengers were safe on the other side, driving off to somewhere only Crow knew. “So, now that we’re outta trouble, can ya please let me go and we can part ways?” Applejack asked. “Look, after what happened chances are Sector Security aren’t gonna play nice with you. You’re better off sticking with me until the heat dies down,” Crow said. “Um, okay? So, where are we goin’?” Applejack asked, not certain as to whether or not to trust Crow. “You’ll see!” Crow answered. Meanwhile, back with the Sector Security Officers… “We need back-up! Call the captain!” One officer yelled. “Oh, sure, pal. And you wanna tell ‘im what just happened?! That he and his girlfriend  got away? Go ahead!” The second officer pointed out. “Good point.” “Let’s just pretend this never happened.” “What?” “Exactly.” —------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For some time, Crow just kept on driving, to where Applejack was uncertain. She had to admit that she didn’t know what to think about him. On one hand, these Sector Security goons seemed to be trouble and Crow was offering to help her hide for now. On the other, Crow did technically steal from a government building, and he offered no good reason for doing so. Eventually, though, the duo ended up at a part of the destroyed city near an incomplete bridge. “Tag! You’re it!” One boy yelled as he tagged a young girl. “Oh, come on, I’m always it!” The girl complained. “Gotta learn to run faster!” The boy retorted. Soon, Crow and Applejack drove up to the kids, who were happy to see Crow return. “Wait! Who are they?” Applejack asked Crow. “It’s just the kids I look after. Things in Satellite are tough, and many kids have lost their parents. So, a few people have taken some of them in, like me,” Crow commented, much to Applejack’s surprise as the kids ran up to Crow and Applejack. “Wha’d you bring us? Wha’d you bring us?” The kids cried out. “Did you bring with you a girlfriend?” One girl asked as they noticed Applejack. “Now see here kids, A’m not…,” Applejack said, only for Crow to interrupt. “To answer your question, no she isn’t my girlfriend. I decided to rescue her from Sector Security. As for whether or not I have something, have you kids been good?” Crow asked the kids. “Well, in that case… tada!” Crow said as he got out some cards and gave them to the kids, who were happy to receive them. “Are they ours?” One girl asked. “Sure! Every kid needs a duel deck! And Uncle Crow just happened to find these lying around! Just promise that you won’t let Sector Security see you playin with these cards. Cause I’d rather not worry about seeing you ending up in the Facility. I promise that one day Sector Security won’t bother us no more!” Crow promised the kids, who all cheered in agreement. “Um, can I talk to ya in private, Crow?” Applejack asked as she pulled him away from the kids.  “Looks like they may be together after all,” One girl commented. “You think they’re gonna kiss?” Another girl asked. “Ew, gross!” One boy said. “Look, I’ll admit that getting those cards for all of these kids was very nice, but next time can ya maybe find them somewhere else?” Applejack asked Crow. “Look, maybe wherever you came from following the rules all the time worked out for you, but out here you pretty much live to only do work and nothing else unless you’re willing to do some not so good things. Besides, I only steal things that me and these kids need. I don’t steal from random people. Besides, there are worse people than me here in Satellite,” Crow explained. “Maybe… Look, I’ll keep quiet on your little escapades for now. Just promise me that you’ll not steal from random people,” Applejack reluctantly decided. “Deal!” “And… one more thing. I’m looking for some friends. Think you can help me find them?” Applejack asked Crow. Crow looked over Applejack for a few moments, seeing that her request came from a place of genuine concern. Ultimately, he decided, “Sure. But we’ll have to wait for now. Security will be hot on our tails for a while. You’re safe so long as we stay here, but once we leave we’ll be asking for trouble.” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yusei was remembering his Duel with Jack and how a red dragon appeared during the Duel. He also remembered him and Rainbow Dash being arrested for being from the Satellite Sector. “Yusei Fudo.” He remembered Rainbow Dash trying to help him escape only for them to be caught. “Yusei Fudo!”  Back in the present, Yusei was sitting on a chair before a judge, with his hands cuffed behind his back. “Are you listening? The authorities have seized your Duel Runner and Deck. Yusei Fudo! Satellite citizens trespassing into Neo Domino City without permission is a heinous crime. Therefore, the Public Maintenance Department has rendered the following verdict: one count! You will be inscribed with a marker,” The judge revealed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yusei had a yellow marker burned painfully onto his face, screaming in agony as it was burnt onto the left side of his face. After the mark was on his face, Yusei fell forward in pain onto the floor. “Under Neo Domino City jurisdiction, this mark symbolizes incompatibility. It means that you are not allowed to live in our jurisdiction!” A guard explained as they pulled Yusei’s head up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “One count! Yusei Fudo will take part in a reeducation program at a detention center for one month. Hurry up and get on! This is to reconfirm that you know the laws of Neo Domino City. Every violator must take this program. After finishing the program, you will spend six months at the Neo Domino City expansion factory before being sent home to Satellite,” Yusei remembered a guard saying as he was placed into a truck that was heading towards The Facility. He was sitting in between Rainbow Dash, who now had a lightning bolt marker under her right eye, and an old man named Yanagi.  “So, I take it you’re going to be returned to Satellite too?” Rainbow Dash asked Yusei, snapping him out of his thoughts. “It isn’t fair! Jack can be here and it isn’t a problem for him! What?! We’re supposed to live in a funless nightmare where we only exist to work?! Please! We’re people, not slaves!”  “I understand, but right now we should probably be quiet. The last thing we need is to cause unnecessary trouble,” Yusei whispered to Rainbow, which the young woman begrudgingly accepted. “I guess it may be a good thing that Jack took Spike. At least he’ll be spared being locked in the Facility and having a mark burned on him. But… what if Jack hurts him in some way?” Rainbow Dash brought up her concerns. “I don’t know what Jack will do with Spike, but even at his worst he isn’t a monster. Perhaps he’ll send him back to Satellite without having to spend time incarcerated first,” Yusei suggested, trying to be honest while still comforting Rainbow Dash. Before Yusei could go back to his thoughts, he was kept in reality by Yanagi, “Hey.” Yusei tried to look away from him, only for the old man to move his head to the other side of Yusei. “Hey hey.” Yanagi moved back to his position in the truck. “I heard you were caught trespassing. Same here. My name is Yanagi. Nice to meet you.” When Yusei failed to accept his handshake and looked out the window behind him, Yanagi continued. “You were caught at Duel Stadium, right? I was nearby at the time. It was incredible. All the lights went out. But what surprised me the most was that red dragon! Weren’t you and your friend inside the stadium at that time?” Yusei finally spoke to the old man, “What do you know?” “Bro, how did you bring that out?” Yanagi asked. “Weren’t you having a Turbo Duel? You can bring that dragon out during a Duel?” Yusei was a bit surprised at this. “Yeah, I remember. Some red energy dragon appeared in the stadium and everyone’s arms had glowing marks. Well, except for Spike, which is weird seeing as how he is a dragon back home,” Rainbow Dash confessed, much to Yusei and Yanagi’s confusion. “Oh, my friends and I come from a different dimension and Spike is a baby dragon back where I come from.” It took a few moments for Yanagi to respond, but he eventually said, “Well, I’ve heard of quite a few things about different dimensions during my travels. I suppose that I would have met someone from a different dimension at some point. Nice to meet you, dimensional traveler Rainbow Dash.” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack was tossing and turning in his sleep, dreaming about the red dragon from back at Duel Stadium. Eventually, Jack woke up panting heavily. He proceeded to look at the mark on his arm.  “Have a good night’s sleep?” Pinkie bitterly asked the king. “Huh?” Jack looked around and saw Pinkie Pie sitting on a chair. “Oh, it’s you. What do you want?” “How could you let Yusei and Rainbow Dash be arrested? Now they’re likely suffering in prison somewhere!” “I don’t have time to deal with this,” Jack said as he got up to leave.  “Wow. Yusei wasn’t kidding when he said that Jack was a selfish jerk. He can’t even bother to answer us, especially after what happened last night,” Spike muttered. Jack appeared to notice this and stopped, turning around to face them as he did so. “Hey! I let you stay free of the Facility! I’d be more grateful of my generosity if I were you. Still, once Goodwin tells me why you two are important I’ll have you two go our separate ways with me.” “I’m looking forward to it!” Pinkie Pie and Spike agreed. Jack proceeded to leave the bedroom and upon seeing Mina, asked her, “How long have I been here?” Mina, who was holding a few roses that she was placing into a vase, answered, “Good morning. Since this morning, Master Atlas. The director himself brought you here. He thought the reason you were upset was because the Duel wasn’t completed.” “Wait! How did you know that the Duel wasn’t completed?” Jack questioned. “Yeah! You weren’t at the arena with us. By the way, do you want anything?” Pinkie Pie asked, trying to be polite to Mina. Mina looked shocked upon hearing this. “I’m sorry. I saw the whole thing,” Mina apologized as she bowed. She was quickly shocked upon seeing Jack leave. “Master Atlas, where are you going?” Jack opened the doors and began to leave, with Pinkie Pie and Spike following after him. “Please wait, Master Atlas!” “Yeah! I still wanna know why you had to be a meanie and hurt my friends!” Pinkie Pie yelled out as she followed Jack. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “As you can see, when Red Dragon Archfiend and Stardust Dragon clashed, the Moment’s rotations increased rapidly,” Zigzig explained as he showed Rex Goodwin the image of the Duel from the night before. “This supports the conditions required for resurrecting the ancient Crimson Dragon,” Lazar said with a laugh. “That’s correct! This event occurred just when we finalized plans to include Moment in all parts of Neo Domino City! This is great news!” Zigzig spun around like a top only to stop when the image disappeared. “This is when we lose power, so the image stopped.” “I see,” Rex began. “That means the Crimson Dragon hasn’t been filmed clearly.  “Correct,” Lazar confirmed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The truck that was taking Yusei, Rainbow, Yanagi, and many others to the Facility arrived just outside the center. When Yusei got out of the truck, he was forcibly pushed by one guard towards another guard. “This way!” The guard proceeded to scan Yusei’s marker. “You’re G2MA2-88. Starting today, you will be referred to by your number. Everyone who caused problems in the city are housed here to undergo reeducation. Other than trespassers like you, people unfit for society are also kept here,” The guard explained as he led the group to their cells. On the way there, Yusei and Rainbow passed Bolt Tanner’s cell, the tall man noticing them both. “Stop! This is your room! Enter!” The doors for the cells opened up, with Rainbow being led to enter the cell that housed Tanner. “Hooray! I can finally sleep in a bed,” Yanagi jumped onto the bed on the left, his wooden shoes popping off as he did so. Yusei followed Yanagi into the room. “The reeducation program starts in the afternoon. Until then. You should think about what you did,” the guard said as he left, closing the cell door behind him. As the guard walked away, Tanner was quick to get the guard’s attention. “Hello.” “What do you want?” the guard asked. “I want to throw a welcome party for the new arrivals. As a old-timer, I’ll teach them the rules of this place,” Tanner said as he gave a thumbs up. “Again? Don’t cause too much trouble,” the guard said as he unlocked Tanner’s cell. Finally, Rainbow began to speak. “So, who are you?” Rainbow Dash asked the tall man. “Listen up. The name is Bolt Tanner, but everyone calls me Tanner. While the guards claim that they’re in charge here, the truth is I’m the real rule maker in this place. Everyone gets a rank, which is determined by how well you can Duel. So, do you have a Deck, newbie?” Tanner asked the rainbow haired woman. “Sorry, but mine got taken away along with my friend’s,” Rainbow apologized. “Heh. Of course a person from the Satellite wouldn’t have a Deck. You’re nothing here,” Tanner mocked. “What?!” Rainbow Dash was fuming.  “You heard me. Now, get ready for the play room, kid,” Tanner said as he got his Deck ready for Dueling. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “This place is big. And it’s also new,” Yanagi said as he looked out the window.  “You haven’t answered my question yet,” Yusei said. “About what?” Yanagi asked. “About the red dragon.” “Bro,” Yanagi said as he jumped down from the window. “Did you bring a Deck? We’ll talk afterwards.” “We’re not allowed to bring one,” Yusei sadly answered. “Ta-daa!” Yanagi said as he revealed a few hidden cards. “After visiting various detention centers, I learned that you always need a Deck.” “You’re allowed to Duel here?” “It’s the same inside as outside. Even in a detention center, there are ones who are in control and ones being controlled. Who’s who is decided by a Duel.” “A Duel.”  Yanagi proceeded to nod. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Master Atlas! Please wait, Master Atlas!” Mina pleaded with Jack as he stormed towards the room where Goodwin was at. “Yeah! Explain yourself now!” Pinkie Pie demanded. “Uh, maybe we should quiet down for now. We don’t want to anger these people,” Spike suggested. “I know, Spike. But our friends have gotten into trouble because of Jack!” Pinkie Pie countered. “I know that, but we can’t do much to help them right now. We should try to find out all that we can for right now,” Spike explained. After thinking for a moment, Pinkie said, “Okay, fine. But I still don’t agree with what Jack did.” “Me neither, Pinkie.”  “This shows that when the king had them both out simultaneously, Moment didn’t run amok!” Zigzig explained. “But it did when they clashed,”  Lazar continued. “So did something happen when the two battled?” Goodwin just sat there until he heard the door open. “I’m sorry, director,” Mina apologized as she and Jack entered the room. Jack looked and saw that they were watching his Duel with Yusei. “What is this?” Jack demanded. “Why are you watching this?” “Please calm down,” Rex said as he got up. “This is the Public Maintenance Department. We protect the peace in Neo Domino City. It is our duty to learn about strange events that occur in the city. Information connected to the people of the stars is especially important.” “You know something,” Jack accused Goodwin. “When the Crimson Dragon appeared, I felt a pain on this mark!” Jack showed the wing and body mark on his arm.  “Yeah! And Dashie and I both gained these strange marks on our arms, except they were blue instead of red!” Pinkie Pie yelled. “That’s right. According to legend, you are a Signer, Jack. You’re a person who has the mark of the dragon,” Rex explained as he and everyone else in the room bowed to Jack. “You are the chosen one. You are a person of the stars. As for the girl, she holds the power of a Pseudo Signer. They don’t quite have the power of a real Signer, but they can be of support to the real Signers.” “However, Yusei also had the mark! It was linked to my mark!” Jack revealed. “What? That person from Satellite? So there are multiple people with the mark after all. As I expected, there are multiple Signers and Pseudo Signers.” Rex Goodwin was interested. “You didn’t see it?” “Unfortunately, the visuals were cut due to the power outage,” Rex apologized. “I saw it! Yusei's arm also had the mark! But he didn’t have it two years ago!” Jack commented. “Maybe the Signer power you guys are talking about came now rather than earlier. It’s strange, but now that I think about it, I’ve been able to see red and blue outlines around Jack, Yusei, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie ever since last night,” Spike revealed. Rex Goodwin looked legitimately surprised to hear this news. “You, Spike. Are you sure that you saw an aura surrounding Yusei, Jack, and the others?” “Um, yes?” Spike answered. “We may have a way to find out the other Signers. Still, just to be safe I’ll try to initiate plan A,” Goodwin said to himself. “So, we’re like superheroes then, huh? So, where do we meet up and what superhero names do we get?” Pinkie Pie excitedly asked. “That isn’t how it works! The people of the stars' power run more deeply and more seriously than you think, Pinkie,” Rex grumbled, annoyed. Jack then noticed something with the footage of the Duel. “Stop! Pause the monitor! Rewind!” The footage went to the part where Yusei played a trap card. “Right here! Enlarge that section.” “Easily done,” Zigzig said as he enlarged Yusei’s trap card.  “This is… Meteor Stream!” Jack realized. “I see. Meteor Stream. King, what you activated right before was… End of the Storm, which destroys all monsters on the field. For every destroyed monster, the player takes 300 points of damage,” Lazar explained. “That’s right! That was a strategy to get Stardust back! He takes damage, and then it was supposed to return to my field after he released it! But at the very end, he was going to use Meteor Stream,” Jack said. “When a released monster resurrects, that card deals 1000 points of damage. That means…” Lazar said with a crazed expression. “I had 900 Life Points. If I took 1000 points of damage..., 0! I lost to him!” Jack realized. “I…” Jack started to tremble in anger. “Ha! Serves you right for letting Yusei and Dashie be arrested!” Pinkie Pie cheered. “Don’t worry about it,” Goodwin said as he placed a comforting hand on Jack’s hand. “No one knows what happened last night. “But I know! The king knows! There’s no way I can forget this Duel! Where is he? Where is he right now?” Jack demanded. Rex turned around and took a few steps before answering, “It’s regular policy to quarantine people who arrive from Satellite. He is no exception. He would be at the detention center by now.” Meanwhile, back at the Facility, the cells opened up as Tanner and his men entered Yusei and Yanagi’s room. “I’m going to meet him,” Jack started to leave. “You can’t. Think about your role as the king,” Rex stopped Jack. “Don’t you want to know about the people of the stars and Signers? Don’t you want to know who you truly are?” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yusei, Rainbow, and Yanagi were pushed into an exercise room that also doubled as a Dueling room. The trio turned around to see Tanner and his men.  “Welcome to my Duel Field,” Tanner said. Yanagi was nervous while Rainbow was seething and Yusei was unresponsive to Tanner. Tanner prepared his Duel Disk with a laugh. “I’m Tanner. This is my realm. Since you’re new, you don’t know that there are two sets of rules. One for inside the detention center and another for the outside. Got it? And I rule the inside,” Tanner said as he got into Yusei’s face. Suddenly, Yanagi got a huge smile on his face, approached Tanner and said, “I know who you are! You’re the Pro Duelist Bolt Tanner, right?” “So, this guy is a Pro Duelist?” Rainbow Dash was surprised. “Shut up, geezer!” Tanner yelled in anger. “Awesome! I’m so lucky that I can meet you in a place like this!” Yanagi yelled. “Hey bro, I’ve seen him several times on TV.” “Stop talking about the past!” Tanner yelled. “That geezer can’t sense the tension in the air,” One of Tanner’s men said. “Talking about Tanner’s past is not allowed,” Another man said. “Hey geezer! When I talk about the rules on the inside, it means that you have to Duel me to determine your rank. The lower rank must obey the higher rank!” Tanner explained. “You’re lucky I don’t have my Deck, otherwise I’d give you a good thrashing!” Rainbow yelled. “That’s what I thought. Since I thought this was going to happen, I brought a Deck. My Deck is incredible. It’s the rarest of the rare! I call it the Treasure Deck! Look” Yanagi said as he got out several of his cards and tried to show them off. “Treasure Deck?” One man asked. “The rarest of the rare?” Another man asked. “It’s good that you’re prepared. What about you?” Tanner asked Yusei. “I don’t have one,” Yusei said in disappointment. “Just like my new roommate. You’re a trespasser from Satellite. That means you won’t have a Deck. Just by being a citizen of Satellite, you’re the lowest of the low,” Tanner whispered. “Well now, my bro didn’t know anything. Take it easy on me, Tanner-chan,” Yanagi said. “Stop saying my name like that!” Tanner yelled. “Let me borrow a Duel Disk.” Yanagi got a Duel Disk placed on his arm. “I’m so happy that I can Duel against Tanner-chan,” Yanagi said. “Geezer!” Tanner yelled in annoyance. “Be careful, Tanner,” one man said. “He said it’s the rarest of the rare. I’m scared,” another man said. “He’s just bragging. I’ll break through his disguise,” Tanner gloated. “Oh really? Am I bragging? Watch, bro,” Yanagi said as he looked towards Yusei. “Well, either way I guess we’ll be in for an impressive duel Yusei,” Rainbow Dash said, uncertain of what to think. “Grandpa, I’ll let you go first,” Tanner said. Yanagi laughed. “Okay, let’s Duel! My turn! First, I’ll show you this! It’s an incredible card that I acquired recently! This card was found deep in South America and depicts a strange ancient item!” “Stop bragging and hurry up and play it, geezer,” Tanner rushed his opponent. “Watch and be shocked!” Yanagi kissed his card. “I summon Crystal Skull in Defense Position (0 Defense)!” Everyone was in shock and awe at the monster’s summoning. “Come out, Crystal Skull!” Yanagi then got zapped by his own card, losing 1000 Life Points. “Why?” “Wait, this card does damage to the user? Why?” Rainbow asked as she facepalmed. Tanner 4000 Yanagi 3000 Tanner’s men were laughing. “Don’t you know that card’s monster effect?” One man said.  “The player who summons Crystal Skull takes 1000 points of damage,” Another man said. “Oh no! No wonder it’s an ancient treasure. There’s a curse on it!” Yanagi cried. Tanner’s men continued to laugh. “I can’t believe you put such a useless card in your Deck,” Tanner belittled. “Oh yeah! There’s a rumor that Crystal Skull’s elaborate designs could only be created using modern methods,” One of Tanner’s men said. Tanner laughed as he said, “That means it’s a forgery.” “That’s not true! Ancient people created Crystal Skull using techniques that even we don’t know about!” Yanagi countered. “Well… At least eggheads like Twilight will be into this kind of information,” Rainbow figured. “That’s enough! It’s the end of your turn, right?” Tanner made sure. “Uh-hu.” “Then it’s my turn. I activate the spell card Cost Down! Until the end phase, the level of all monsters is decreased by two!” Tanner played. “Lower the level?” Yanagi asked in confusion. “All I did was make my skill level in Dueling match yours, grandpa. I discard one card in my hand and summon level 6 Ushi Oni (2150 Attack)!” The monster shocked Yanagi. “Ushi Oni!” One of Tanner’s men said. “He said that he would lower his skill level, but he brought out Ushi Oni. Tanner is cruel,” Another man said. Tanner laughed. “Due to Cost Down, level 6 Ushi Oni becomes level 4, so I can summon it without releasing another monster. Ushi Oni, attack Crystal Skull!” “No! Don’t destroy my crystal Skull!” Yanagi pleaded, only for the plea to fall on deaf ears and the monster to be destroyed. All the men cheered as Yanagi was horrified. “No! My Crystal Skull!” “It’s fate that fakes quickly vanish. It’s your turn, grandpa,” Tanner said mockingly. “Bring it.” “It’s time for my next card. I draw! This is pretty good too. Its Defense Points are excellent! Look at this card. I summon it in Defense Position (2200 Defense)!” Yanagi played. “Whoa! For a defensive card that looks pretty good,” Rainbow said. “I’ve never seen a card like this!” One of Tanner’s men was amazed. “That’s Ashoka Pillar,” another of Tanner’s men said. “That’s right. Ashoka Pillar is a mysterious iron pole that exists in India. Thuis perfect Iron Pole was made using techniques that didn’t exist during that era!” Yanagi explained. “Grandpa, do you really want to Duel? You’ve played nothing but lame cards! Are you making fun of me?” Tanner demanded. “I don’t think so, man. But still, you shouldn’t belittle him like this!” Rainbow Dash countered. “I’ll belittle him all I want!! After all, he’s insulting me with his lame deck!” Tanner yelled back. “I’ll show you even more shocking cards! From my hand, I equip the spell card spirit mask on Ashoka Pillar!” Yanagi played. “So? What are you planning to do with that?” Tanner asked. “Stay tuned. I end my turn.” “My turn. I draw! Grandpa, all you want to do is show off your cards. All your cards are useless garbage that don’t work well together!” Tanner criticized, much to Yusei and Rainbow’s anger. “Hey! Don’t say that about Yanagi’s Deck! I’ve come to learn that every Deck can work. There has to be a way to make his Deck work,” Rainbow Dash countered. “This is a waste of time! I’ll wipe away those garbage cards! First, I release Ushi Oni!” Tanner played. “Why?” Yanagi asked. “I special summon Giant Ushi Oni (2600 Attack)!” “Oh my!” “Giant Ushi Oni is a monster that can only be summoned by releasing Ushi Oni. Giant Ushi Oni, attack Ashoka Pillar! Specter’s Bite!” Tanner yelled. “Well done, Tanner!” One of Tanner’s men said as Yanagi was horrified. “You’re pathetic. But don’t think you’ve escaped yet! When Ashoka Pillar is destroyed, you take 2000 points of damage!” Tanner reminded Yanagi. Tanner 4000 Yanagi 1000  “And don’t forget the effect of Spirit Mask. When that card is sent to the graveyard, you have to send another card in your hand to the graveyard,” Tanner reminded his opponent. “Oh yeah,” Yanagi remembered as he sent a card from his hand to the graveyard. “It takes skill to gather that many useless cards,” one of Tanner’s men said, which angered Yusei.  “Giant Ushi Oni’s monster effect! If it destroys your monster in battle, it can attack again! Attack Grandpa Directly!” Tanner finished off Yanagi’s Life Points. “Are you okay, grandpa?” Yusei asked as he helped pick up Yanagi. Rainbow Dash also went over to help up Yanagi. “To be honest, you could probably find a way to win with that Deck.” “Thanks, you two,” Yanagi accepted their help, then ran over to collect his Treasure Deck. “Grandpa, you lose. Sheesh,” Tanner said as he walked over to Yanagi. “Not only didn’t I lose any Life Points, but you Dueled in a manner that was insulting to me!” Tanner stepped on one of Yanagi’s cards. “Grandpa, I give you the lowest rank possible!” “I wasn’t insulting you. I just wanted to show these cards to an incredible Duelist like you! I love these cards! Am I not allowed to love them? It’s true that I don’t know much about effects and such. But I love these cards because they tell me about the mysteries of the human world. Please move your foot. My precious cards are in pain!” Tanner started to dig his foot into the card, scraping it against the floor. “How horrible!” “Ugh! You’re almost as annoying as that purple haired bookworm that I met back before I got sent here. Still, at least she was a talented Duelist,” Tanner said. “Wait. Did this bookworm use a magician Deck?” Rainbow asked. “Well, yeah. She knew what she was doing all right. Wait. Why am I telling you this?” Tanner said. Rainbow’s face grew into a smile for a moment. That meant that Twilight was also here, somewhere in the city. She just needed to find her now. Yusei grabbed Tanner’s shoulder and then proceeded to trip him with his leg. “What are you doing, you punk!” Tanner demanded. “Will you let me borrow that Deck?” Yusei kindly asked Yanagi, much to his confusion. “I want to win with that Deck. You said you were a professional Duelist, so Duel me.” “Interesting. You’re saying that you can beat me with that lame Deck?” “Of the numerous cards in existence, there is not a single useless card,” Yusei said, much to Yanagi’s joy. “Satellite punk, do you know how to Duel?” Tanner asked Yusei. “You’ll find out soon enough,” Yusei responded. “Yeah! Yusei will show you that all cards are useful!” Rainbow Dash cheered. Tanner proceeded to smile, “You’re just gonna quickly fail and embarrass yourself.” “If you want to quit, now’s the time,” One of Tanner’s men said. “What can you do with that lame Deck?” Another of Tanner’s men asked. “Tanner, finish him off fast,” A third man said. “Bro, will you be okay?” Yanagi asked in concern. “Just watch,” Yusei simply responded. Yanagi then remembered the Crimson Dragon’s appearance and wondered if Yusei was connected. “You… Who are you?” “You’re going to learn your place,” Tanner said as they both prepared their Duel Disks. “Duel!” Both Duelists cried out. “My turn. I draw!” Tanner smiled upon seeing what he drew. “From my hand, I summon Jirai Gumo (2200 Attack)!” “It appeared!” Yanagi was getting worried. “All right! He already summoned it on the first turn. Jirai Gumo is level 4, but it has 2200 Attack Points. Tanner, give him the jitters!” One of Tanner's men said.  “I set two cards facedown. I end my turn,” Tanner said. “I remember Jirai Gumo’s effect. It has a chance of halving the Life Points of the user if they attack. He must be planning to block attacks and then summon another card on the next turn,” Rainbow Dash realized. “Wow, for a Satellite punk you actually know something. Impressive,” Tanner noted with begrudging respect.  “Grandpa. A Duel breathes life into cards. It’s the role of the Duelist to give rhythm that life. If the cards felt pain when they were stepped on, then it is the role of the Duelist to win and give them happiness,” Yusei said. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, a hefty dark skinned man was watching the Duel between Yusei and Tanner. The man was plucking nose hairs when he decided to call director Goodwin, who was walking toward his home. “Understood. Please continue to keep an eye on him,” Goodwin hung up the phone. “The man from Satellite has started Dueling at the detention center.” Goodwin informed Jack, who was walking with him along with Spike and Pinkie Pie. They all walked into Goodwin’s home. “King, Pseudo Signer and friend, I’m taking you to a room that you have never seen before.” They went through the elevator to a different part of the mansion. “I’ll give you a glimpse of the true nature of the Public Maintenance Department,” Rex said as they went down to a basement level of the mansion. When they got there, they walked through a stone hallway into a room with a temple that had a crimson red glow. “Please calm yourself and look forward.” Jack proceeded to look at his mark upon seeing it on the temple. “Have you noticed it? King, the mark you have on your arm symbolizes the wing of the Crimson Dragon.” “Crimson Dragon…” Jack muttered. “Yes. The Crimson Dragon you saw at Duel Stadium, king.” “Oh! So the Crimson Dragon isn’t just the color. It’s the name of the dragon too! So, what does the dragon do?” Pinkie Pie wondered. “Uh, Pinkie?” Spike whispered as Rex gave them a glare. “I’ll tell you both more in a little bit,” Rex simply responded. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “It’s my turn,” Yusei said as he drew a card. “I had that card in my hand last time,” Yanagi said as Yusei grabbed Crystal Skull. “Don’t do it! If you summon that, you’ll take 1000 points of damage!” “I summon Crystal Skull in Defense Position (0 Defense)! “ “See, I told you so,” Yanagi commented as everyone else but Rainbow laughed. “You’re messing around. Go ahead and self-destruct,” Tanner said. “Self-destruct? Why would I do that? From my hand, I activate the quick-play spell card Curse Reflection Doll,” Yusei played. “That card is…” Yanagi muttered. The damage that Yusei would have taken got reflected and hit Tanner instead. “What?” Tanner was confused. Tanner 3000 Yusei 4000 “What’s going on? Tanner lost 1000 Life Points!” One man was confused. “And that Satellite punk took zero damage, even though he was the one who summoned Crystal Skull,” Another man said. “I get it. This Deck works by reflecting damage to the opponent!” Rainbow Dash realized. “What did you do? What was that card?” Tanner demanded. “Curse Reflection Doll. Due to its effect, the damage I take becomes zero, and you take damage equal to what I would have taken,” Yusei explained. “He dealt Crystal Skull’s damage to Tanner,” one man said. “You used the curse of Crystal Skull to your advantage,” Yanagi realized. “The card answered to me. Though derided as useless, Crystal Skull gains great power due to the power of its friends,” Yusei explained. “Friends?” Yanagi was confused. “The cards you gathered are its friends,” Yusei explained. “Bro, you’re incredible,” Yanagi said in awe. “Tanner, that was just luck. There’s no way you can lose to a Satellite punk!” one man said. “You’re wrong. It wasn’t luck. He knows how to Duel. It’s getting me excited. For the first time in a while,  I can battle seriously,” Tanner complimented Yusei. “I end my turn,” Yusei said. “This is the first time I’ve seen Tanner look like that,” one man said. “My turn! I draw! I release Jirai Gumo to summon Ushi Oni (2150 Attack)!” Tanner summoned. “Why? Jirai Gumo has higher Attack Points,” Yanagi didn’t understand. “Don’t underestimate Tanner!” one man said. “The real show is about to start!” another man said. “I get it. He plans on summoning Giant Ushi Oni. Watch out, Yusei!” Rainbow Dash warned her friend. “I release Ushi Oni to special summon Giant Ushi Oni (2600 Attack)!” Tanner yelled out. “Giant Ushi Oni, attack Crystal Skull! Specter’s Bite! Giant Ushi Oni’s monster effect! When this card destroys one of your monsters in battle, it is allowed to attack again! Attack him directly!” Tanner 3000 Yusei 1400 “Bro!” Yanagi was worried. “He’s all talk,” One man said. “I end my turn. Now, summon a monster!” Tanner said. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Neo Domino City’s Public Maintenance Department is just our current incarnation. We have inherited the power of the people of the stars who brings peace to the world. That name is Iliaster,” Rex explained. “Iliaster?” Jack asked. “What is that? Some kind of magical force?” Pinkie asked. “The word means “The first matter of all things.” Government, economy, military, everything that controls the world is run by the people who swear allegiance to Iliaster. Iliaster is an organization that watches over the world and guides it down the right path. I, Rex Goodwin, is the 360th Star Guardian.” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “From my hand, I summon Ashoka Pillar in Defense Position (2200 Defense)!” Yusei played. Tanner’s men proceeded to laugh. “There’s another one. A useless stick that only has high Defense Points,” one man said. “Hurry up and destroy that one, too,” another man said. “Be quiet,” Tanner ordered, shocking everyone. “Let me see how much you can squeeze out of that Deck.” “From my hand, I activate the equip spell Stonehenge. With stonehenge, I can special summon a monster with zero Attack Points from the graveyard and equip this on to it. I special summon Crystal Skull in Defense Position (0 Defense)!” Yusei proceeded to take damage from Crystal Skull’s effect. Tanner 3000 Yusei 400 Tanner’s men proceeded to laugh at this. “Tanner, you’re overestimating him,” One man said. “Bring out Crystal Skull? Is there no limit to his insanity?” another man said. “No, you’re wrong. After Giant Ushi Oni destroys a monster, it can battle again. If he doesn’t have two monsters on his field, his Life Points will instantly become zero,” Tanner explained. “Yeah! Yusei truly is great, and he’ll show you all,” Rainbow Dash yelled. “So those two monsters are just for blocking purposes,” one man said. “I see. He chose a way to survive Tanner’s attack, even if that meant taking damage,” another man said. “But he made a mistake,” Tanner grinned.  “What do you mean?” asked one of the men. “When Ashoka Pillar is destroyed, he takes 2000 points of damage.” “He’s right bro. If Giant Ushi Oni attacks you, it’s over,” Yanagi warned. “Do you really believe that?” asked Yusei. “I set one card and end my turn.” “Like I thought, he placed a trap,” Tanner thought. However… that’s what I’m aiming for.” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Iliaster. It originated 3,000 years ago in the Andes Mountains of South America. King, let me lead you to the pre-Inca civilization,” Rex said as he raised his arm. All of a sudden, the environment around the two changed to a past version of the temple. “In the past, the people of the stars built the giant stone civilization known as the temple of heaven. They revered the dragon star, which was said to govern all of creation, as their god. All the wisdom held by the stars was handed down to the ruler, the star dragon king. Through the star dragon king, the people were led by the stars, and they built a unique society and civilization. However, as it happens quite often, evil wars threatened the peace. When that happened, the star dragon king prayed to the dragon star for salvation. And the dragon star answered. The Crimson Dragon, which is the incarnation of god, came down and sealed the incarnation of evil into the ground.” “Into the ground?” Jack asked. “Yes. Right here,” Rex said as he changed the scenery to the Nazca Lines.  “The Nazca Lines?” Jack was confused. “So what? Is the darkness going to come back like with Discord? Nightmare Moon? Or Sombra?” Pinkie Pie was curious. “Who are they?” Jack asked Pinkie. “Oh they’re…,” Pinkie began only for Spike to cover her mouth. “They’re book characters! They totally aren’t real at all!” Spike lied badly, and Jack could see it. However, he wasn’t interested in learning more from them right now so he decided to continue listening to Rex Goodwin. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “My turn. I draw!” Tanner grinned as he saw his card was Nobleman of Crossout. “I’ll see the identity of your set card. Battle!” Yanagi proceeded to freak out. “Stay away!” “Giant Ushi Oni, attack Ashoka Pillar! Specter’s Bite!” “I activate the continuous trap Totem Pole!” Yusei cried out, much to Yanagi’s glee and the crowd’s shock. “Totem Pole negates your monsters’ attacks up to three times.” “That’s pretty good. I didn’t know it had that effect,” Yanagi gleefully said. Tanner, however, laughed. “You fell into my trap, Satellite Punk. I activate the continuous trap Spiderweb Castle! Spiderweb Castle can activate when the opponent activates a trap. With this card, when your monster attacks, that monster’s Attack Points are halved. Furthermore, if I send this card to the graveyard, I can attack you directly. There's no way you can win, Satellite Punk!” “Will you be okay, bro? Did you hear what he said?” Yanagi was getting worried. “Hey, Yusei can find a way to win in spite of that trap card. I wouldn’t worry Yanagi,” Rainbow Dash reassured.  ` “I set one card and end my turn,” Tanner said. He then proceeded to think, “Now come at me. My field is perfect. With Trap Hole, if you summon a monster with 1000 or more Attack Points, it will be destroyed. If you try to attack, Mirror Force will destroy your monsters in Attack Position. This Duel has me fired up. I’ve forgotten how this felt. It reminds me of that time...The exciting world of professional Dueling. And my final opponent…” He remembered that he lost against Jack Atlas in a Turbo Duel. “You said you were good enough to face the king, but this was all you could do? This was the worst Duel ever,” he remembered Jack saying to him. “After that, I kept falling,” Tanner continued to think. “I quit being a professional. However, I couldn’t abandon Dueling. I competed underground against hooligans and barely pulled off victories. I clung on to victories among the garbage. I was completely absorbed in illegal Duels until I finally ended up here. What a pathetic story. I like you since you were able to get me this excited. I can't lose this Duel!” “It’s my turn. I believe in you. Let’s show grandpa your victory. If I can just get one more monster… come!” Yusei drew, smiling upon seeing the card he drew, much to the shock of Tanner and his men. “He smiled,” One of the men said. “I guess that he managed to draw a good card,” Rainbow Dash commented. “I activate the spell card Piri Reis Map!” Yusei played. “Who cares. That’s just a map,” a man commented. “You shouldn’t underestimate it. Piri Reis Map is from the Middle Ages…” Yanagi said. “There he goes again,” One man interrupted. “We’ve had enough of your stories!” Another man said. “Piri Reis Map allows me to add one monster with 0 Attack Points in my Deck to my hand. I summon the card that was added to my hand. Cabrera Stone!” Yusei summoned the monster only for his Life Points to be cut in half. Tanner 3000 Yusei 200 “What’s that rock?” One man asked. “It’s Cabrera Stone! It’s incredible. Humans and dinosaurs…” Yanagi said. “Enough of your talk!” one man interrupted. “But what a spectacle!” Yanagi was excited. “Crystal Skull and Cabrera Stone and Ashoka Pillar! I’m getting goosebumps! You can’t see this in any museum! “ “What is the meaning of this? Due to Piri Reis Map’s effect, if you summon the card you added to your hand, your Life Points are halved. Now you only have 200 Life Points. Why did you choose that card?” Tanner asked in confusion. “To win. When Crystal Skull, Ashoka Pillar and Cabrera Stone are on my field, there’s a card that I can activate,” Yusei said as he showed a card. “That’s…” Yanagi said. “I activate the spell card Triangle O!” Yusei played the card, which proceeded to crack all the cards on Yusei’s field and move onto Tanner’s field. “What? It’s even coming on to my field?” Every card on both fields were cracking and preparing to break. “They’ll all be destroyed!” One man yelled. “Awesome! So this is the Power of Triangle O!” Yanagi was amazed. “Triangle O destroys all cards on the field. Then the damage I would have taken due to the destroyed cards’ effects will be dealt to you,” Yusei explained as Tanner’s Life Points drained to 0. “Alright! Yusei won!” Rainbow Dash was excited.  “Tanner! Are you okay?” One man asked. “Bro, you’re awesome! You won by reflecting back 3000 points of damage that you were going to take. I didn’t think that was possible,” Yanagi was excited. Yusei smiled. “I just fulfilled the wishes of the cards.” “Bro…” Yanagi said as he jumped onto Yusei and tried to kiss his cheek. Tanner stood back up. “He managed to defeat Tanner without even battling once,” One man said. “That punk! How dare he do this to Tanner!” Another man yelled. Just as the two men were walking forward, Tanner stopped them. “Wait.” “Tanner…” One of the men was surprised. Tanner walked towards Yusei. “You won without even attacking once. You were chosen by the cards. That was a good strategy. I’m amazed. I didn’t know a Duel like this was possible. What’s your name?” “Yusei,” Yusei answered. “Grandpa, I’m sorry that I stepped on your cards,” Tanner apologized. “And you, Rainbow Dash, sorry for all the trouble I gave you.” “It’s fine. I’ve dealt with worse people before,” Rainbow Dash accepted the apology. “It’s fine. More importantly, look at this,” Yanagi said as he held up some cards. “Doesn’t it look like Crystal Skull is smiling? Bro, you’re really incredible!” “It would be a waste if you’re stuck here,” Tanner told Yusei. “I want to send you to the world of the pros. Will you Duel me again?” Tanner held out his hand. “Anytime,” Yusei accepted the handshake. “So, what happened to that purple haired girl you were talking about, Tanner?” Rainbow asked. “Oh, her. She ran off after our Duel. Though, to be fair, she and her friend were almost as good as Yusei,” Tanner answered. Suddenly, some guards entered the room. “Number 88! The chief wants a word with you. Come with us,” One guard said. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back with Goodwin and Jack… “The evil was sealed into the ground, but like rain water seeping underground over time, it has seeped all over the world. Look at the current world. War, poverty, incurable illnesses, economic chaos. There is no peace from the era of the people of the stars. The only utopia is Neo Domino City. You must understand by now. In the near future, the evil god sealed in Nazca will resurrect. It will feed on the evil in people’s hearts,” Rex told Jack. “What?” Jack was shocked.  “So this darkness is like Sombra and Nightmare Moon!” Pinkie yelled. “In a way, yes. We are preparing for the day when the evil god resurrects and will summon the Crimson Dragon that will protect the people. We are searching for Signers and Pseudo Signers that have the Mark of the Dragon. Only with them will we stand a chance at fighting the Earthbound Immortals.” Jack pulled up his sleeve and looked at his mark. “With this mark, that means I’m one of them.”
