Yosh, dragon-duck egg brother to Spike, gets support from Spike in starting KG despite his need for diapers

With all the dragons and their partners paired and ready to take on amazing adventures, Yosh and Spike head to Magic Kindergarten to start their educations beyond what they've learned from Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, and Dawnbreak Horizon.

However, Yosh still is having trouble with his bladder muscles and is very nervous of how the other kids will treat him for needing to still be in diapers.

Spike, being thoughtful and caring, goes out of his way to make sure Yosh doesn't feel so alone and outcast on their first day by wearing a diaper, too. He may not use it, but he knows it will help to not make his anxious egg brother become the exclusive target of teasing by the class.

Art by 'Diapered Pony' / 'Sweetie Lover'. I had written and posted stories based on his work before, but felt this picture would go best with this story. Yosh is the one with trouble, but it is DP / SL's work and, as it has inspired me, I hope you all enjoy seeing it here, too.

1st Day Of Magic KG - Spike Supports Yosh

View Online

Twilight Sparkle and Dawnbreak Horizon were nearly finished with their education under the advanced magical instruction of Princess Celestia when the time came for their baby dragons, Spike and Yosh, to start their adventures in Magic Kindergarten.

“Thanks, Spike,” Yosh, who was half duck and half dragon, whimpered as they were first to enter into their assigned classroom.

Spike blushed while trying to calm his friend to whom he had known since they had been magically hatched at about the same time.
“I’m your friend,” assured Spike. “No pony is going to pick on you for your diapers when they see how I’m wearing diapers, too.”

The dragon-duck sniffled as he took a look to see that, as he had a short while ago, that Spike was wearing a disposable diaper covered with ducks, swans, baby chickens, and other imagery associated with such an infantile garment.
“You sure?” he asked with a look of worry in his eyes.

Spike really did not want to wear a diaper to their first day of Magic Kindergarten. However, as Twilight was busy with her studies, Princess Celestia took the opportunity to ask him to do it to help his friend not feel so different from the other kids starting Magic Kindergarten.
“Only for a few days,” she said to Spike with care and assurance. “You don’t need to use them. However, until we figure out what is ailing Yosh, it will help him to better settle in with other ponies outside of myself, dawnbreak, and Twilight.”

DING-DING
CHIME

The bells and chimes sounded to start the first day of Magic Kindergarten. The instructor, Ms. Scribbles, was at the door greeting parents of young Unicorns who were nervous to be parting from the security of their mommies and daddies for so long. Magic Daycare was often much like being at home where Magic School had a different structure, less freedom, and was intimidating with all its desks, shortage of toys, pillows, and other comfort items that an anxious foal could go to if they felt uncomfortable while with some pony aside from their parents.

Spike felt his hand growing numb from how tightly Yosh was squeezing it. The purple dragon, who was assigned to twilight sparkle, had spent enough time with the Sparkle family to know how to be ready for this big day. Unfortunately, Yosh was not able to visit with Dawnbreak’s family due to how the brown-coated Unicorn was from Fillydelphia. This meant Yosh’s time was either alone in the dorm with Dawnbreak, or with Spike and Celestia during the day.

“Spike,” trembled the dragon-duck while putting even more of a squeeze on his green-bellied friend. “I think I’m wet.”

“Shh,” the emerald-eyed dragon replied softly. “We need permission from the teacher to get up and go potty.”

Spike felt a blush upon finishing his statement as, from what he was taught to get out of diapers, a diaper was a potty you wore around yourself. So, technically, Yosh had already used the potty. Though he knew what his friend needed and he also knew that he could not treat him like Twilight had raised him to be.

Yosh started to well up with tears in his eyes. However, to Spike’s surprise, his friend wasn’t the only one crying in the room.

“Yosh,”nudged Spike. “It’s okay. You’re not the only kid feeling sad.”

The news appeared to make the green-and-white dragon-duck feel better.
“I’m…,” he sniffled while opening his watery, sapphire-blue eyes. “I’m not?”

Spike didn’t see any other students in diapers. However he was smart enough to direct his claw towards a number of Unicorns who were whimpering, crying, shaking, and/or trying to run after their parents.

Yosh sniffled and wiped at his eyes.
“You’re so brave,” he remarked to Spike. “I wish I was as brave as you.”

“Shucks,” Spike blushed. “You know I love you, Yosh.”

The dragon-duck snuggled up to Spike and gave him a hug.
“I love you, too, Spike,” he sighed with relief. “I feel better and want to help ponies like you help me.”

Spike returned the hug and patted at his friend’s back.
“We are special,” he added. “And, like Aunt Celestia says, everyone is special and strong in their own way.”

Ms. Scribbles was aware of Yosh’s medical condition. So, once she had managed to distract the class with some magical pictures that welcomed everyone to Magic Kindergarten, she had her aid, Ms. Mystic, take the dragon-duck and Spike to the Nurse’s Office.

While Yosh had his diaper changed, Spike took the chance to use the restroom in the Nurse’s Office to keep himself from having an accident. He then allowed himself to be diapered so it gave Yosh a feeling of not being the only kid needing the protection of padding over their flank.

By the afternoon, the students of Ms. Scribbles class had started to calm down. They were getting to know each other, see that Ms. Scribbles and Ms. Mystic were as fun, if not more fun, than their daycare caretakers, and got to enjoy a fun film strip about a Unicorn filly playing a game of ball with a Pegasus colt and Earth Pony filly while eating their lunch.

After lunch, along with another trip to the Nurse’s Office for Yosh, the entire class was lead outside to play together in the school’s playground.

“Yay!” cheered Yosh as he slid on his smooth, crinkly bottom down a slide that went around in circles like a corkscrew. “I’m going to go again!”

BAF!

Yosh’s eagerness caused him to run into a yellow-colored filly.

Spike hurried over to make sure Yosh would be okay. The dragon-duck had tried to not be seen much by the other ponies due to needing to wear diapers. Spike wanted to make sure that his ‘brother’ did not feel sad by being teased.

“Sorry,” moaned Yosh as he rubbed his beak.

The filly got up and looked towards the diapered dragon-duck.
“Aww!” she cooed. “Cutie!”

Spike found himself coming to a quick stop as he watched the young Unicorn snuggle up with Yosh.

“Hey, Spike,” a familiar voice calmly greeted.

The purple dragon turned to see that Princess Celestia had teleported herself into the playground. He also observed her removing the diaper he was wearing for the sake of Yosh.

“It would seem everything went well today?” the regal, white alicorn stated. “I had come by to bring you and Yosh back to your room in the castle while you waited for Twilight and dawnbreak. Though maybe you two would like to enjoy the rest of recess before coming back for the day?”

Spike felt a lot better without the bulky diaper hindering his movements and making him all warm around the waist.
“Well…,” he thought aloud while seeing the filly blowing raspberries on Yosh’s belly as she giggled from how tickly the dragon-duck’s tummy feathers were. “I think we’re good, princess.”

Celestia smiled.
“How wonderful,” she remarked while fighting back a tear. “I remember when you two called me ‘mommy’ and now you two are growing up just like those special pupils I’ve taken under my wing. I’m just so proud.”

Spike ran to Celestia who levitated him up so he could snuggle around her muzzle.

“Love you!” cheered Spike while taking in the embrace of Celestia’s wing and hoof.

A tear did escape from Celestia’s eye as she took in the familiar feeling of true love being given to her by Spike. It had been many years since she last remembered feeling ‘love’ over ‘adoration’ from her subjects.
“And I love you,” she said without giving away how truly emotional she was feeling. “You, Yosh, twilight, and dawnbreak have given me so much to look forward to and I can’t wait to see what you all grow up to achieve for Equestria.”

Celestia lowered Spike to the ground as Yosh and his filly friend approached.

Yosh and Spike shared a hug while the other students, along with Ms. Scribbles and Ms. Mystic, took notice of the Sun Princess. All were awestruck by their leader being in their presence.

“You all are so welcome to my school for gifted Unicorns,” she stated while bowing to the crowd. “You are the future of Equestria and the friendships you build today will help ensure many generations ahead maintain the values that the three tribes forged together in creating our land of love, tolerance, and social equality.”

The children all appeared confused by Celestia’s words. However Yosh and Spike were very familiar with their ‘Aunt’s’ fancy words.

“We will!” cheered Yosh as he flapped his arms and wiggled his legs in a way that made him briefly levitate a few inches above the ground.

The dragon-duck’s statement got the other children excited as they all started to proclaim, “Yes, princess!” and “We will!” along with, “Thank you, Princess Celestia!”.

The teacher and her aid felt good about how their students were all united by the visit by the princess along with seeing how Yosh and Spike had been accepted so kindly by the ponies of the class. Nobody fussed over Yosh needing diapers and the remainder of the school day was filled with games, making friends, and developing the core values that would make them all upstanding citizens of an even more accepting and understanding community of Equestrians.
