> 7 Sins and 6 Harmonies > by Hydreigon_Omega > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 - Gluttony & Magic > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meliodas, captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, disappeared a few weeks ago. As you can expect, this caused massive panic among the rest of the sins. Eventually there was another-worldly surge of energy causing them to suspect that is when Meliodas is. Merlin has now put all of her studies on hiatus to develop a spell to travel to the same dimension as the one Meliodas is in. After using the spell, something goes wrong which ends up getting Elaine and Elizabeth caught up in the spell. Now all eight of them are scattered across a land completely foreign to them. Merlin, the boar sin, is now standing on the outskirts of a small town, shortly before nightfall. The entirety of the population of this small town was made up of multicolored miniature horses. Merlin immediately started looking around the town. She got a few odd glances from the tiny horses, probably because she looked very different from ‘normal.’  It was a nice change of scenery, the buildings were colorful and showed no signs of war. It was a peaceful town, other than the odd faces that were made, it was very welcoming. She stopped when she saw a big tree with a door and some windows. There was a sign next to it which read ‘Golden Oak Library.’ She entered the library, it was very well kept, there was a small table with a few decorations on it. The shelves were crammed full of books, many of which seemed to be of history. “Can I help you,” A somewhat masculine voice said “Not really,” Merlin replied, “I’m just curious about a few things.” she said while levitating a few books over to her. “How are you doing that?” the voice said, as it moved closer, “I thought only unicorns could do magic.” Merlin looked down to see that the voice came from a small dragon, “Where I come from, almost every race can use some kind of magic.” She explained, “where are my manners, I’m Merlin, one of the seven deadly sins. What's your name?” “I’m spike the dragon,” he said, extending his hand for a handshake. “Nice to meet you.” Merlin shook his hand, then continued to read the books. Time passed, Merlin’s interest sparked as she continued to read the history. The ones that struck her interest the most were the stories of Nightmare Moon, even though it did happen, albeit 1,000 years ago, it wasn’t easy to tell what was true and false. She eventually discovered some more recent history books which talked about Nightmare Moon being Princess Celestia's long lost sister Princess Luna. Merlin also found some other books, which talked about a ‘fire of friendship,’ which sounded quite ridiculous, friendship couldn’t have possibly taken a physical form. Right? Merlin went over to the center table, and cleared it off. While she was here, there was no reason to not continue her studies. She summoned a few vials filled with various substances. Perfect cube was activated just in case something went wrong. Three books levitated around her as she started cross referencing her studies with some magic study books from the library. Twilight was on her way to the library. It had been a long day, going to the crystal empire, discussing with Meliodas about Celestia’s dreams, King sombra attacked, and worst of all was that prideful bastard Escanor. He talked like he was better than everypony else, even more so than rainbow dash. But there was some good to come out of this, they discovered Meliodas wasn’t a bad guy, but actually a very nice creature, despite all the folktales and myths about demons. All twilight knew was she was too tired to deal with any of this right now. When she finally got home, she noticed a large purpley pink cube in the center of the room. There was something inside, and it seemed to be diligently working while reading over a few books. Not knowing what to expect, Twilight knocked on the cube, this got her attention. Merlin turned around and saw the purple alicorn. She stopped what she was doing and put all the vials back in their proper container. Merlin used absolute cancel to lower the perfect cube so they could talk easier. “May I help you?” Merlin asked “Visitation hours for the library are over for the night.” Twilight respond, “Oh, the door was unlocked so I just came in.” Merlin replied a little surprised, “But if it alright with you, I need a place to stay for a night.” “In that case it is okay if you need to stay here.” Twilight said, “SPIKE! Prepare a guest room. I’m princess Twilight Sparkle by the way, and you are?” “My name is Merlin,” She replied, “I am one of the seven deadly sins.” “Do you know Escanor and Meliodas?” “Why of course. Those two are the strongest out of all seven of us. How do you know them?” “I just met Escanor early today, when I met Meliodas… It wasn’t exactly the best of circumstances.” Twilight said, “I’m curious, what exactly were you doing.” “Science, magic, stuff that would bore just about anyone.” “Really? I personally find it quite interesting, mind if I joined you.” “Not at all, but I’ll need to reactivate the perfect cube just in case anything goes wrong.” Time passed, Merlin explained a few of the experiments that were going to happen. And one of them was somewhat dangerous. It was also highly prohibited, because of the use of black miasma. “Tell me twilight,” Merlin said, “What’ll happen when we mix these two substance together?” Twilight thought about that question, thinking about each of the properties. Her eyes widened in horror. “The explosion caused by mixing them would be powerful enough to wipe ponyville completely off the map.” “Correct, but do you know what this is?” Merlin asked, holding a much smaller vial filled with a blackish-purple substance, Twilight shook her head, “This is black miasma, this is what we will be using to stabilize it.” Merlin then started moving her hand and the three substances flew out into the air. With a sudden redirection of her hand, the various items flew into a cauldron where it started to mix. What came out of the cauldron was a viscous black fluid. “Woah” Twilight eyes widened, like a filly on hearth’s warming getting the present she wanted, “No pony had ever managed to mix those two together and survived. So what is it?” “After some more experimenting I will figure out its properties.” Merlin said, “But We’ve done enough for the night. It is very late.” “It is indeed.” Twilight agreed, “Here, let me show you to your room for the night.” After arriving at the room, Twilight had to apologize for the bed being a bit too small for her. It was made for a pony and not someone as tall as her. “Don’t be, you’ve done more than enough for me tonight, and I thank you for that.” Merlin said, “It is surprisingly enjoyable to share my studies with someone who has the same views as me.” “Anything for a friend.” Twilight said, as she headed to her room for the night. A friend? Did Twilight really think of her as a friend? They did share the same interest in science, magic, and other such things. But Merlin knew that she’d eventually have to return home with the other sins. But did Twilight even know who she really is? Despite these questions plaguing Merlin’s mind, she knew she needed sleep. She lowered her illusion to reveal her true form, of a small child that looked 12 years of age. Now her size was much more fitted for the bed. It was surprisingly comfortable. Tiredness eventually over-came her letting her drift off into sleep. > Chapter 2 - Doll of control > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After Merlin used the spell, Gowther was teleported into a forest. It was an odd looking forest, the trees were blacker than tar. There was a town in the distance, but it would be relatively hard to see through the brush of the forest. He looked around, he was given two options, go deeper into the forest or head towards the town. He took the more logical option, heading to the town. The over option had a survival rate of about 25%, at least according to his calculations. Gowther continued through the heavy brush, up ahead was a small clearing from the brush. Going around could have Gowther end up battling against some wildlife, whilst going through it could be a trap. He decided to take his chances and move through the clearing.  When Gowther got to the center of the clearing, a low growl surrounded him as neared the center. He stopped in the center of the larger clearing to analyze the area around him. Three wooden, quadrupedal entities started growling at him. They seemed to stand at shoulder height to gowther. They started circling Gowther preparing to strike. The first one charged at Gowther, aiming to crush his body in one bite.Gowther dodged by jumping over him preparing to use gatling-jack. Right before he used his attack he landed into some trees. It is almost as if this forest is alive, the clearing now had several wines with thorns attached slithering around the area, and the trees had moved to prevent the moonlight from flowing through. If Gowther had a sense of emotion, he would’ve probably ran away from fear. Freeing himself from the trees, gowther fell to the ground only suffering a small cut on his arm. The wood wolves charged at Gowther with a malicious intent. The first one tried to bite Gowther's stomach, which he dodged and countered with a wood splitting strike. A loud crack sounded which should’ve been enough to scare off the other two but it didn’t. The other two wooden wolves were still eyeing Gowther with what he could only assume was some kind of anger. Both of the wolves lunged at gowther at the same time trying to overwhelm him. The first one swiped at him with a wooden paw which barely grazed the edge of his shirt as he jumped back. While Gowther was mid air the other wood wolf bit down on his leg with an audible crack. That wolf managed to bite down severely damage his left leg, Gowther was getting as impatient as an emotionless doll could. Gowther made a finger gun as he shot a bolt of pink light from his finger taking control of the wolf that bit him. He used the wolf to combat its still living pack member as he tried to figure out the best strategy to escape. If he continued to fight other beasts could come and overwhelm him in this small area, but his leg could collapse in on itself if he over used it so running was in the question. Continuing to use the wooden wolf to attack, it uses its claws to crash into the other wolf. Each collision caused splitters and green ooze which Gowther could only assume was their blood. Gowther barely focused on the fight as he calculated his best plan of action, he could already feel his leg started to break and he might be able to make it to the town in the distance if he ran, but in doing so he would lose focus and the effects of ‘jack’ would drop. The other option was to continue using his puppet of a wolf and kill the other predator, yet the cries of pain could attract other predators. With one final crash Gowther had killed the offending predator, splinters and more of the green ooze splattered out from the beast. Gowther than manipulate his puppet to come close to him. Gowther looked into the eyes of the wooden wolf and saw the depression humans often associate with fearfulness. A quick slash across the head area of the wolf caused it to be decapitated. Looking around Gowther made sure that there was nothing left that could offer a threat. He proceeded to head to the town, each step he felt his leg would collapse upon his own weight. He kept a watchful eye even though his facial expression was as emotionless as always.  Upon leaving the forest, Gowther spotted a small cottage that seemed to have plant life growing all across it, while also being maintained fairly well. Moving on his journey he felt a large snap in his leg as it finally gave way to the stress. Fluttershy was in her house trying to get Angel Bunny to go to bed for several hours. She was very frustrated and seriously sleep deprived from chasing him all night. He kept saying something along the lines of the puppet master is coming, but Discord had already been reformed so she hoped that his ramblings were just from being tired. Fluttershy lunged at the bunny jumping from furniture to furniture trying to catch him. Her cottage would be a mess after she caught him. After a long while of trying to convince him to go to bed, the thorn in the side of a bunny finally went to sleep.  Fluttershy had gotten comfortable in bed when a massive crack sounded startling the half asleep pegasus. It sounded like a mix of an animal’s bone break and a tree branch falling. Going to the window to check, she saw an odd pink haired creature covered in timberwolf blood and a leg that is not supposed to be pointing in a certain direction. She gasped in horror at the somewhat gorey sight. Rushing over to the creature, she picked it up off the ground with all her strength. Barely dragging the creature off the ground, then placing it  to the sofa for him to recover. She started to brush him off with a thin cloth to clean the blood and dirt off him. *pop* The head of the creature popped off and rolled onto the floor in front of Fluttershy. It eyes were soulless as they began to stare daggers into fluttershy. “Hello, I am gowther.” “AAHHHHHH” was the last words fluttershy said before she passed out from shock. “This is rather unfortunate.”
