> Dungeons, Dragons, and...Ponies?! > by Reaper99 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- October 15, 2019 Me and my friends were just outside a D&D convention, we agreed to meet new people and play some games before heading home at nine pm. We each had a signature character we would try to use, my character was a level three fighter named Robert Bloodhelm. We entered and split up, I found a group that was using first tier (Levels 1-4) characters, I joined them and my character leveled up to level four before I had to leave. On the way out, I saw a man dressed as the merchant from the resident evil franchise. He had prop weapons and magic items for sale, I saw a nice Flame Tongue Longsword replica and asked for the price. "You have a good eye, I'll give it to you for a hundred bucks." He said. I read enough fanfictions to know what would happen next. "I'll take it." I gave him the money before asking "Have my friends bought stuff from you?" "Yeah, you want to join them?" he asked. "Sure, be sure to send me there as Robert Bloodhelm, he's my Human Fighter." I said before blacking out. I woke up in a bed as Robert Bloodhelm, I had the Flame Tongue I bought from the merchant at my side. I wore a full set of chain mail armor and had a shield strapped to my left arm. I stood up and noticed the shield bore the symbol of the Boros legion and I also had a crimson cape on. "Huh, I wonder..." I said as I picked up the Flame Tongue Longsword and shouted: "Ignite!" The blade then caught on fire, I saw a training dummy to my left and swung my weapon, leaving a burned slash mark on the dummy. I thanked my lucky stars that I learned how to use medieval weapons last summer. "You know how to use that?!" Shouted a voice, I turned and saw a red dragonborn clad in plate armor standing in the doorway. "There goes standard procedure..." "I only learned how to use this last summer, I still have lots to learn." I said "Who are you?" "I'm known as Draken Vol, lord of the Faerunian Displaced, but you can call me Leo." he said. "I'm Robert Bloodhelm, but call me Simon." I said as I sheathed my Flame Tongue. "Come, I will introduce you to the others." Leo said before he gestured me to follow him. We exited and I found that we were in a small town, many people there were adventurers, merchants, or artisans. "How many displaced are here?" I asked as I saw a elven couple play with their children. "About fifty or so, Many of us arrived as adventurers but some were just sent here as merchants, artisans, or nobles." he answered. "Are my friends here?" I asked "The merchant said he sent them here before me." "Are you talking about Isaiah, Luis, Francis, David, and JC?" He asked "They arrived a few hours before you and are currently in the training hall." He said as we walked past a forge, tanning salon, and tavern. "Thanks, I wanted to make sure they were safe." I said "I should practice my swordsmanship, which way is the training hall?" Leo gave me the directions and I went on my way. One Year Later... "-And you know the rest." I finished before drinking from my glass. We were in the tavern, drinking and talking about our experiences over the past year. A whole year of wars, betrayals, and adventures past with little fanfare. We each became a champion of a "I still can't believe you knew you would be displaced, do you regret it?" asked Luis (Alias: Deckard Lionhart) who became a Human Wizard. "Nope!" I said happily. "Anyway, I want tell you what happened during my last adventure-" Began Francis (pseudonym: Kalashnikov the Reliable) the group's Half-Orc Paladin. "He found a Holy Avenger in a dragon's hoard." Interrupted David (sobriquet: Juicy Mcjesus) who turned into a Halfling Monk. "David! I wanted to keep that a secret!" Shouted a now angry Francis. "I bet one of those two will kill the other." Whispered JC (Nickname: Kirov Blizzardbow) our resident Wood-Elf Druid. "That's just mean." Said Isaiah (Aka Richard Demonslayer) the party's Aasimar Cleric. "I'm going to the forge, I need to finish my new shield." I said as I finished my drink. "See ya." I heard Isaiah say as JC and Luis tried to calm down David and Francis. I was at the forge making my new Boros Legion shield since my old one broke during my last battle, which was against a frost giant. I enchanted it with adamantine and mithril to make it stronger. I was heating the shield in preparation for the heat-treat when I heard the tower bells ring. "Shit! Meeting of the adventurers now?!" I said as I tempered my shield. "There's new displaced!" shouted another displaced as she passed the forge. "What? I though new displaced arrive only once a month!" I was confused due to the recent displaced arrivals arriving only a week old. "I don't know, that's probably why there's so much fuss over it." she said before leaving. "Well, lets see who it is this time." I said as I left my newly finished shield on the anvil. I saw everyone crowd around the displacement house, blocking my view, "Oh. My. Gods!" shouted a displaced as he saw the new arrivals. "Holy shit!" shouted another displaced. "What in the nine fucking hells!" Shouted a third displaced as I began making my way through the crowd. "Move!" I shouted as I pushed and shoved my way past many displaced. I got through the crowd and entered the room to see something I hoped I would never see again. Its Twilight (fucking) Sparkle from My Little Pony! "I hate my life..." I said to myself... > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Simon's POV Three hours later... I watched over the unconscious Twilight Sparkle with clashing thoughts. My anti-brony side wanted me to either kill her or run away screaming nope over and over, my brony side wants me to wake her up and hug her. I decided against all three options and just sat on a chair by her bedside. "What in Tartarus?" I her asked herself as she woke up. "Your up, you've been out for hours." I said as I offered her a glass of water "You thirsty?" "Uh, thanks." she said as she took the glass in her magic. "Your probably wondering where you are, where your friends are, and how you ended up here. My name is Robert Bloodhelm but you can call me Simon, I'm a displaced like you." I said as she drank. "Displaced?" she asked after she finished the drink. "A displaced is somebody taken from their home world and sent to another." I answered. "Another world? As in universe?" she asked. "Yup, I'm basically living proof of the multiverse theory." I replied. "Come with me, I'll introduce you to the other displaced." "Where are we?" She asked as I led her through the town. "We're in the town of Displacement on the world of Toril." I said as we passed some surprised looking Aasimar. "Why do they look at me like that?" she then asked "Their not used to seeing what this world views as a holy creature." I answered. "Basically your kind are seen as servants to the gods." "Where are you taking me?" She asked. "Your friends should be here in the training hall, that's where most new displaced go after arriving." I said as we arrived at the training hall. We entered and saw Rarity fussing over everyone's looks, Rainbow Dash sparring with some Aarakocra, Pinkie Pie throwing a weird party, Fluttershy being trained in the art of healing, and Applejack was learning the art of weapon fighting. They all dropped what they were doing when they saw Twilight. "TWILIGHT!" they all shouted as ran to her. "Hey guys." she said as they hugged. "Anyway, you should learn some of our spells to be able to defend yourself in the world." I said. "I already know some combat spells, I can handle what you can throw at me." Twilight said proudly. "Alright then Twilight Sparkle, lets spar. I'm not that strong of a magic user but I bet I can beat you without my weapons." I challenged her. "I accept your challenge." She said as we walked to the center of the room. "Ready? I'll go easy on you." I said before the referee started the match. Twilight shot me with magic missile and I blocked it with a shield spell. "What? That's my strongest spell!" shouted a confused Twilight. "This is just a shield spell, if you can break through you can handle the dangers of this world." I said, I knew she couldn't break through due to the Magic missile immunity of the shield spell. "Come on! That's your best?! I'm disappointed in you, student of Celestia, you can't even break through my shield!" I taunted. Twilight Sparkle POV I was already on my reserves and he still stood there, with not a single scratch on his armor. I tried to break through with conventional magic and it didn't work. I was frustrated and planning my next move when I heard him say something. "Come on! That's your best?! I'm disappointed in you, student of Celestia, you can't even break through my shield!" He taunted, that pushed me over the edge. If I can't beat him with magic missile, I'll try something stronger. I gathered as much power as I could into a bolt of pure blue energy. "Oh Shit..." was all he said as I released the bolt. The resulting dust cloud made me snap out of my anger and I became worried for him. "Ha! I see your powerful, but next time don't use such a powerful evocation spell, they may be powerful but only the strongest of magic users can use them often." He said as the smoke cleared, I saw his breastplate was cracked and blood was pouring out of the crack. "Oh no, I hurt you!" I shouted as I ran to him. "Don't worry, I'll live." he said "I've been hit by worse, oh hey Isaiah." He said as another human ran towards us. "Dammit Simon, I know your the group's tank but please stop trying to kill yourself!" The human shouted before casting some kind of healing spell. "Ha! As if the witch bolt spell can kill me!" Simon shouted before coughing up some blood. "I'm so sor-" I began before he put his hand to my mouth. "I wanted you to show me how powerful you are, I should be the one to say sorry for pushing you." He said. "Isaiah, can you bring me to the infirmary?" "Sure, but I'll need help bringing you there." Isaiah said. "I'll help you carry him." I said. "No, you study, I'll have Luis teach you our kind of magic." Simon said before Applejack offered to carry him out. "Let's go." said Isaiah as they brought Simon out. Simon's POV Damn, that attack hurt. I'm pretty sure that was at least a fifth level spell if it broke through my armor. I was being carried by Applejack to the infirmary and when we arrived the healers were shocked at my injuries. "What did this to you my lord?" asked Kirk, my squire/personal healer. "A witch bolt of fifth level or higher." I answered before blacking out...
