Rainbow Dash expressed as she closed the massive door to her mansion and gleamed at the cotton candy haired girl through the video call who in return gave her a huge grin. "Yaaayy, I can't wait to see you there Dashie." Pinkie Pie exclaimed as she bounced up and down the kitchen at sugar cube corner. Rainbow Dash scarcely chuckled at her friend's enthusiasm before bidding her goodbye as she left for work. Rainbow Dash was the newest member of the Wonderbolts. A dream which she finally achieved after years of hard work, devotion and dedication. She placed her phone in her coat pocket and made sure her duffle bag was resting comfortably on her shoulder. She placed her Element of Harmony on her neck and put a scarf over it to keep her neck warm. Princess Twilight, or "princess egghead" as Rainbow Dash would like to put it; had contended that the girls keep their elements on at all times when they were in public just in case there was an emergency which required the ancient artefact's powers. She spread her wings and soared through the skies towards Cloudsdale. Rainbow Dash let out a most silent, subtle, shiver as she flew above the clouds, the autumn breeze flew past her and gave her goosebumps. Dash fixed her ponytail and made sure her earmuffs were covering every inch of her ears to protect them from the icy cold breeze which continued to nip at her nose tip. She placed her hand in her double-breasted coat's pocket only to find out she had left her gloves at home and quietly cursed at herself for forgetting them during a cold and misty morning like this one. Although she was glad her coat had artificial faux fur on the interior of it to help her maintain body heat. The sun had just started to rise, the sky had contained a mixture of different hues as the sun began it's a journey across the bright gradient yet slightly cloudy sky. Due to how early it was in the morning, around seven am, there wasn't much noise or activity to be seen and heard in the colossal city of Cloudsdale. Which Rainbow Dash was just minutes away from as she flew within the outskirts of the famous floating city. The sky had an ominous brittle silence, she could see the mist exit from her mouth as she exhaled. Her nose so red Rudolph would probably be eyeing her in envy in order to learn her secrets. Rainbow Dash smiled as she saw the expensive and modern building ahead of her. The alluring pull the building had to its appearance, the huge Wonderbolt logo lighting up and illuminating a portion of the runway. The building itself was evocative, bringing back many memories Dash had. The Wonderbolts. How funny is it that 11 months ago she was their biggest fan? Dreaming, hoping and praying that one day she would fly beside her hero's. Now she's been flying with them for almost a year, now she had little boys and girls who looked up to her and now she was a hero to some. Thinking about how far she had come in life did make her emotional, far more many times than she would like to admit. But hey she was still a human-pony hybrid like everyone else, who had emotions. Deal with it. Not that she would ever let anybody know, of course. "Fuck this weather." She mumbled under her breathe as another gust of wind flew past her. Dash increased her speed and headed towards the runway where she saw some of her Wonderbolt friends chatting away, waiting for their captain. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ "Hey Crash." Fleetfoot greeted with a smiled and waved at her best friend slowly gliding down towards the runway after showing the guards her Wonderbolt ID to let her through the front gate. "What's up, Fleet?" Dash responded a small smile etched on her face as she and Fleetfoot embraced. "Eh, the usual boring morning bullshit." Dash suddenly felt a weight on her right shoulder and turned her head to see Misty Fly half asleep on her shoulder she looked at Fleetfoot before the two burst out laughing. Mornings were never for Misty Fly. "Yo Misty! Wakey wakey." Fleetfoot exclaimed as she clapped her hands twice in front of her face. "buh...huh what?" She gave a half-assed response. "You fell asleep on my shoulder again," Dash said, as she and Fleetfoot slightly chuckled. Rainbow Dash then saw Lightning Streak approaching with his brother, Fire Streak. She smiled and waved at them, a gesture which they both gladly returned. Fire Streak gave her a fist bump before giving Misty Fly a brief kiss on her lips. Fire glanced at Misty, "You don't look very awake considering the fact that you dunked your face in cold water for ten minutes." He said, clearly amused at his fiancΓ©'s lack of effort to even stand without losing her balance, more or less stay awake. "HEEEYYY HOW ARE MY BESTIES DOING THIS WONDERFUL MORNING!!? Surprise suddenly appeared out of nowhere while eating a full cream cake and hugged Dash and Misty from behind. "It's negative five degrees Celsius Surprise, how in Equestria is that a 'good morning'?" Rainbow Dash rhetorically asked. "I don't think Surprise is capable of experiencing any other emotion besides happiness," Fleetfoot stated as Surprise bounced away to greet the guys. Misty Fly furrowed her brow, "fuck this, I need more coffee. Come with me to the mess hall." She didn't even let Fire respond as she grabbed his wrist and dragged him along. Not that he had a choice anyway. A few minutes later and everyone was outside, suited up with goggles dangling around their necks whilst Spitfire glanced at the clipboard and quickly skimmed through the flight formations for the day. The Wonderbolts were due to leave for an Equestrian tour soon and so the routine needed to be perfectly memorised and synchronised. "Good morning Dash." A male voice greeted her with a soft tone. Rainbow Dash turned around to see Soarin smiling tenderly down at her. "Soarin!? Awake!? On-time!? Who are you and what have you done to my best friend?" Rainbow Dash dramatically gasped and she placed her hands on his shoulders and shook him. Soarin rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Now am I always awake late, or do you just arrive to work late?" He stated as he gave Dash her coffee and rested his thumb and index finger on his chin as if thinking. Rainbow Dash shook her head as she took her coffee from his hand and took a sip. "Ass." She quietly laughed. "SOARIN! COME HERE!" Spitfire yelled, making Soarin flinch. "For Celestia's sake Spitfire, tone it down, I'm right here." Soarin removed his hands from his ears and turned to her direction. "I'll be right back, gotta go see what miss 'I-don't-know-how-to-talk-in-my-inside-voice' wants." He winked at Dash as she smiled and nodded. She took another sip out of her coffee while she watched him walk away. "Sooooo." Surprise appeared on the left to Rainbow Dash with a squirrel? In her hand, as she gave Dash a mischievous grin. Rainbow Dash looked at her with a raised eyebrow, "what?" She asked. "When's the SoarinDash wedding which we've all been waiting for?" Fleetfoot asked with a snide tone, as she appeared on the left to Dash with an expression similar to Surprise'. "It's not like that, we're just friends." Rainbow Dash started her blush seared through her cheeks and for a minute or so she had thought her face was on fire. She suddenly felt awkward, demure, and coy; even going as far as attempting to hide cheeks behind her wing. Sure there were many physical aspects of Soarin which Dash liked. His sharp, chiselled jawline, his well-toned muscular arms, his welcoming emerald eyes... Wait...why the fuck am I noticing his muscles for? Dammit, Rainbow Dash. Dash smacked her hand against her forehead. Fleetfoot glanced at Dash, then at Soarin and then at Dash again as she examined her expression. Not once did Dash's eye's leave him. Tracking his every moment like a predator ready to prey on its victim. Fleetfoot knew there was something there. A spark may be, between tho. Heck, every single Wonderbolts in the building knew and were all silently hoping and waiting for the two to get together. Ever since Dash had saved Soarin from a nasty and potentially fatal fall back in Rainbow Falls, preparing for the Equestrian Games. The two had become closer. Blaze and Surprise had even started a "SoarinDash club" which almost every Wonderbolt was a "member" off. Whatever the hell that meant. Though it did bring a slight annoyance to the couple who were convinced they were just free-no best friends. Nothing more, nothing less. Right? Fleetfoot knew it would take some times for the two to confess. Here's the thing: Dash was a very proud and self-assured person. A very egocentric girl who's heart belonged to everyone she held dear. She was brave and daring and always craved adventure and danger. Soarin: he was calm and collected Pegasus. Similarly to Dash, he held those he cared about dear. He was easy-going, goofy and friendly. Both were hard-working Pegasi. Popular among the media. Loved. Both were loyal to the core. Dash was chosen by the Element of Loyalty to help protect Equestria after all. It was just a matter of time before one or both decided that friendship isn't all they're destined to be. "ALRIGHT WONDERBOLTS! MOVE IT TO THE ALL SQUAD MEETING ROOM. MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!" Spitfire exclaimed as the Wonderbolts all winced before the ringing in their ears stopped and walked inside towards the stairway leading to the second floor. Where all the meeting rooms and the janitors closet was. "CLIPPER, CRASH GO TO MY OFFICE AND GET THE FLIGHT FORMATIONS FOR SQUAD ONE'S SECOND ROUTINE AND MEET EVERYONE IN THE MEETING ROOM IN FIVE MINUTES. IF YOU SHOW UP IN 6 MINUTES OR 4 MINUTES I WILL FORCE FEED YOU BOTH TO A PACK OF TIMBERWOLVES!" Spitfire commanded as the duo gave her a salute and flew towards the direction of Spitfire's office. The rest followed Spitfire to the direction of the meeting room. Fleetfoot caught up and gave Spitfire a knowing grin. "Sssssaaaaay Spitty," "Yes, Fleetfoot?" Spitfire sighed as she looked through the binder in her hands. "Surely you don't need two people to grab a small little folder from your office." Fleetfoot giggled as she saw a small smile try to creep its way onto Spitfire's face, "did you, by chance, happen to purposely send them together to get the folder?" She asked snidely. Spitfire didn't respond but the small smirk on her face and the nose flare was all Fleetfoot needed. "HAHA! I KNEW IT.!" Fleetfoot laughed, "you're so evil and I love you for it." "Welcome to team SoarinDash sis." Blaze said she appeared next to spitfire and gave Fleetfoot a high five with her wing. "Welcome to team SoarinDash? No, no, no Blaze, I run that bitch" Spitfire smirked as she reached for the door handle leaving the duo to hysterically laugh at their captain's response. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ "The Wonderbolts are all going for drinks tonight. You coming along?" Soarin asked as he and Dash climbed the enormous stairs to the third floor. In direction to Spitfire's office. "Fleetfoot told me this morning. I'd love to come but Pinkie Pie is having a sleepover with the girls tonight and made me pinkie promise to come." Rainbow Dash shrugged. "Aww, too bad. I was hoping you would be there. You're great company Dashie." Soarin stated as he turned the doorknob to Spitfire's office, completely oblivious to the fact that he had just addressed Dash by a very affectionate nickname and the blood which had rushed up to her cheeks and across her nose and her stiff and erect wings. Rainbow Dash shook her head and calmed herself down as she was about to walk to follow Soarin when the corner of her eyes caught a shadowy figure run across. Barely seen. "You coming Dash?" Soarin said. Rainbow Dash shook her head and smiled and followed him through when an ear-piercing bang caused her and Soarin to jump in shock. "There was an echo after that sound. DASH IT'S A GUNSHOT GET INSIDE SPITFIRE'S OFFICE. NOW!" Soarin ordered. Rainbow Dash wasted no time in hurrying inside as Soarin instantly closed the blinds on the small window on the door and locked the door. "Dash there's the main switch on the back wall, break the glass barrier and pull the red switch down. It'll cut all electricity in the building." Soarin ordered. Rainbow Dash nodded, broke the glass with her elbow and pulled the red lever down. Rainbow Dash rapidly closed the blinds to the huge window wall at the back of the office as she and Soarin hid behind Spitfire's desk. The following gunshot was heard, the bullet shattering the sound barrier and then a slight echo. Rainbow Dash quietly yelped as she unknowingly leaned into Soarin, who in return wrapped his arm around her midsection. "Who the hell would it be?" Soarin whispered. Rainbow Dash shrugged as she peeked behind the desk as an ominous silence caved the building while Soarin rang the lockdown alarm. "I have no idea," Dash responded. Just then multiple shots could be heard behind the door and Rainbow Dash's eyes widened in fear and she unknowingly started to shake while her breathing increased. "Don't worry, Spitfire's door is bulletproof," Soarin said as he held Dash close to him. Just then the banging increased. Became louder. Less spaced apart. Soarin and Dash both peeked from each side of the desk as an amber hue surrounded the doorknob which slowly but surely started to become loose and a few seconds later fell to the floor with a small ping. Soarin and Dash stayed behind the desk. Dash's head leaned on to Soarin's shoulder for support, her eyes wide and glazed with fresh tears. Soarin had one hand on her back and one covering her mouth in order to stop her from making any noise. Soarin slowly removed his hands from her body and looked at her with his index finger grazing his lips, indicating her to be quiet. He moved his fingers in a series of different emotions but Dash understood perfectly. He was talking to her in sign language. Learning sign language was mandatory for all wonderbolts, being a very diverse and accepting flight group as well as being part of Equestria's military and first-hand response. Attack. He said. Dash looked at him with fear and in disbelief. Did he want to attack an armed intruder? Soarin noticed Dash shaking, less discreetly now. He began making some more motions with his hand. You'll be safe. I promise. He cupped her small face in his large palms as the two stared into each other iris. Just about a centimetre between their faces. Dash closed her eyes, took a deep breathed, looked at him in determination and nodded. Soarin smiled. "Rainbow haired freak! I saw you come in here." The mysterious voice spoke. Dash looked at Soarin in confusion. The man addressed her? She didn't recognise that voice. Soarin looked at Dash and nodded. They both kept out from their hiding spot and even before the attacker had any chance to process what was happening Soarin had delivered a heavy blow to his abdomen, resulting in the intruder slamming against the wall behind him. He looked woozy and shook his head and readied to defend but Rainbow Dash was quick on her feet and delivered a punch to his face. However, the attacker had an incredible reaction time and managed to block her attack. He grabbed her wrist and slightly pushed her back before grabbing her by her neck, crashing her back into the wall. He glared at her with eyes full of hatred and hoisted the petite girl into the hair. Dash felt her eyes begin to get heavy as a single teardrop fell down her cheek. She was about to blackout before a muscular arm came into her peripheral vision and knocked the intruder off her and onto his feet. "You okay?" Soarin asked. Dash coughed and placed a hand on her throat. She nodded at Soarin and weakly smiled. The intruder was about to stand up, but Soarin was ahead of him and quickly delivered a blow to his face, knocking him out. Dash then began to violently cough as Soarin quickly returned to her side and rubbed his hand up and down her back. Unknowest to him, the intruder slowly began to open his eyes. Though he was too weak to move he still had enough strength to grab his gun with, pull it towards him, aim at Soarin. And he shot. He didn't miss his target. "SOARIN!" Dash cried out, she saw him fall on the floor, unconscious. She glared at the unnamed man, her eyes full of rage and fury. She jumped on him. Continuously delivering heavy and powerful punches. Tears were freely pouring out of her eyes. Her vision was blurry from them but she didn't care, she knew exactly where the intruder was and continue to punch and punch and punch him. The man, however, proved to be more strong than Dash had thought. He pushed dash off him and threw her against the wall. She yelped and cried out in pain as her head violently slammed into the wall. The attacker was slowly starting to stand up as his eyes fixed on Soarin once again. Dash growled. Oh hell no She quickly got up, fortunately, she was out of eyeshot of the intruder, she slowly grabbed the fire extinguisher, approached the man and hit him in the head with it with as much force as she could muster. She was on top of him, despite the fact that he was unconscious. Her vision continued to blur but this time she was certain he was out for good and maybe had a broken nose, with the amount of blood oozing out. She wiped her eyes and grabbed her scarf from her neck to tie his hands behind his back, just in case he was able to slip into consciousness again. Although it was very unlikely. She shut off the lockdown alarm. Rainbow Dash wasted no time and rushed over to Soarin, and placed his head on her lap. He quietly coughed and wheezed and barely was able to open his eyes but enough to see the terrified look on Dash's face. "H-hey Dash?" Soarin spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. Rainbow Dash shook her head, "ssh, ssh. Save your energy. I'm gonna get you help. I promise." She said, despite choking on her own tears. She found a small cloth on the sofa in the office and placed it on top of his wound to minimise blood loss. "Listen Dash," Soarin spoke one again, Rainbow Dash slowly met his eyes, "Ju-just in case I don't make it. I have to tell you something." "No, you'll be fine. You can tell me you're gonna be okay." Dash said, continuously shaking her head as the tear flow increased. "I...I love you, Dashie." Soarin said. Rainbow Dash stared at him for a few seconds and she wiped her cheek, which proved to have no use as the tears continued to drench her face. "I love you, too" She replied and slightly nodded. Soarin gave her a weak smile and held her hand in his as their fingers intertwined. "I love you, too." She spoke softly again and she rested her forehead against his. Suddenly he wheezed, alarming Dash as his eyes slowly fluttered closed... His breathing didn't stop but seemed to significantly weaken. His breaths were more spaced apart Rainbow Dash felt the air escape her lungs. She slowly got up and ran outside Spitfire's office, tumbling and falling over more times than she could keep a count for, looking for anyone. She grabbed her forehead, no doubt she had a concussion. She felt blood rush out of her right nostril. She suddenly saw a bunch of shadows on the stairs and many muffled sounds. She immediately recognised them. "SPITFIRE!?" Dash called out. "RAINBOW DASH!" Fleetfoot flew and hugged Rainbow Dash, "Are you okay? Did anything happen to you?" Fleetfoot exclaimed and looked over Dash in worry. Rainbow Dash shook her head no and pointed inside her office. Completely disregarding the Fleetfoot and the rest of the Wonderbolts also looked a little beaten up too. "Soarin. Go help, Soarin. Please, save him, please." She said she hugged Fleetfoot and cried into her shoulder. Just after Dash's request, Wave Chill and Fire Streak ran inside. "CAPTAIN!" Fire called out. Spitfire left Dash's side and ran inside her office. She saw the two unconscious male figures on the floor. She ignored the latter and ran to Soarin. "GO GET A MEDIC, NOW!" She ordered. Wave Chill, Fire Streak, Lighting Streak and Rapidfire all saluted and ran to the hospital. Cloudsdale Hospital was a two-minute flight from the Wonderbolts building, Spitfire was certain Soarin would get medical attention soon. She could hear Rainbow Dash bawling outside. One question ran through her mind, What the FUCK just happened? ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ The mood in the hospital was anything but cheery. It was a fucking hospital. The central heating quietly ran in the background, the constant beeping of the electrocardiography machine rang through the ears of the occupants in the room. Multiple IV bags stood tall to inject the patient with necessary liquids to maximise survival chances. The clean and crisp white walls loomed over everyone. The seats were plush, the air had a perfumed scent. Distinct voices of the nurses and doctors could be heard outside. The Wonderbolts were in a private room, all huddled together in the spacious little rectangular room. All bandaged up and treated for their wounds. Some minor, some not. Rainbow Dash's Ponyville friends rushed to the hospital as soon as they heard from Princess Celestia about the events which had taken place in the morning. They always attended every Wonderbolt show to support Dash and in result had become really close friends with the Wonderbolts themselves. Twilight slowly and quietly walked into the room with the rest of the girls, Spike and Starlight close behind. "Hey Twi," Spitfire whispered as she and the Princess embraced. "Hey, how are you all?" She asked, her voice just above a whisper. Lightning shrugged, "we'll be fine, just a few minor injuries." He spoke as Fluttershy ran up to her cousins and embraced them tightly. Fire and Lightning Streak quickly returned the hug. "You should be more worried about him." Rapidfire pointed to Soarin, careful to no wake-up Fleetfoot who was sleeping on his shoulder. "Soarin? What happened" Rarity asked. "He got shot. Doctors say he's stable, the bullet was successfully removed and just missed his major organs. They said he should be awake by now. It's been over 24 hours." Spitfire said, as she sighed and sat back down on the sofa. "What happened though?" Starlight asked. "The attackers were taken into custody and questioned. Apparently, they came to get revenge on Rainbow Dash and the rest of the elements because you managed to catch and arrest a dangerous and huge gang a few weeks ago but their leader was killed in the process." Spitfire exclaimed. "Dammit, I knew the ones that escaped would come after us," Twilight said as she rubbed her temples. "I'm gonna have to tell Princess Celestia to give the Wonderbolts and me and the girls so additional protection until we find the escapees" she sighed as Spitfire placed a hand on her shoulder. Twilight sat on the sofa next to Spitfire and Misty Fly. Pinkie was occupied with Surprise, Fluttershy was with her cousins, Rarity and Starlight were making small talk with Spitfire and Fleetfoot. Applejack approached Rainbow Dash, who was sat on a cushioned chair right next to Soarin's bed with her legs up and her head buried in them. Whether she was awake or not, she didn't seem to acknowledge her friend's entrance. Applejack slowly placed her hand upon Dash's head, who quietly flinched and looked up. Applejack visibly cringed as she looked at Dash's appearance. Her eyes were puffy and red, probably from crying or lack of sleep....or both. Her hair was a mess, her sleek and high ponytail was no longer there and her hair left open, but looked really messy and not taken care off. Rarity didn't seem to like it as she grabbed a hairbrush from her handbag and walked over to Rainbow Dash. "How ya doin' Sugarcube?" Applejack asked with a small smile, removing her hand from Dash's head and rested it on the armrest as Rarity began brushing Dash's hair from behind her. Rainbow Dash was about to respond but her lips quivered and a few small teardrops escaped her eyes. She shut them tight but couldn't help it. Applejack and Rarity looked at each other in with pained expressions, Applejack rested Dash's head against her chest allowing Dash to silently weep. Rarity continued to carefully brush her distressed friend's hair. The rest of the Wonderbolts looked upon their newest member with extreme sadness. They knew how fond Soarin and Dash were of each other whether they liked to admit it or not. There was definitely something there. To observe Rainbow Dash crumble so easily and break, was truly hurtful to witness. Soarin. He lay on the hospital bed. Numerous bandages covering on his arms and legs, multiple IV lines running through his veins. A nasal cannula on his nose to assist in breathing. Above him were his X-Rays, MRI and CT scans. Exhibiting all sort of essential information which the doctor and nurses may need. They sat there in incorruptible silence for a few periodic hours but felt like a lifetime. Time is such a strange factor, indeed. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ Soarin gave out an inaudible groan as he rubbed his forehead. His eyes slowly opened and sooner or later adjusted to the light in the room. The hell? The afterlife looks very similar to a hospit-ohhh. He slowly sat up, not all the way but he wasn't laying down now. Spitfire noticed the blanket shuffle and quickly looked up. Only to witness her childhood best friend awake and aware. She couldn't help a huge grin occupy her face as she stood up from her chair and ran to Soarin and embraced him tightly as her eyes welled up with tears of joy. "Spitfire...careful....pain," Soarin sputtered as Spitfire hugged the absolute living shit out of him. Everyone else, except for a certain multi-coloured headed girl awoke to the commotion in the room only to see Soarin finally awake and Spitfire who seemingly had a mission to suffocate him to death with the amount of force she was putting in her hug. They all stood and expressed their relief to see Soarin awake. Spitfire suddenly glared at him and punched him. "OW! Spitfire? What the hell was that for?" Soarin yelled as he rubbed the spot on his arm where she punched him. "For making me think you died! Don't do that again" She huffed and crossed her arms. Soarin and the rest chuckled. That was Spitfire's way of saying "I love you." Speaking of "I love you", Soarin's eyes widened as he realised Dash wasn't in his sight, he visibly panicked, hoping nothing happened to her only for his hand to brush against a silky, soft surface. He turned to his right and saw Rainbow Dash asleep, with her head on the mattress. Soarin smiled. She looked so peaceful although he was sure that was far from the emotion she was feeling right now. "Dude, she's been ridiculously worried about you." Lightning Streak said, as he and the rest of the Wonderbolts and mane six sat back down and chuckled. Soarin raised an eyebrow. She was? "It took us so long just to get her to eat something and fall asleep," Misty Fly stated as she subtly glanced at the Element of Loyalty. "How long have I been out?" "42 hours." Rapidfire replied. "It's 2:45 am right now," Twilight added. "I think you should wake Rainbow Dash up now, she'll be so relieved to see you're okay," Fluttershy said in her quiet and meek voice. Soarin smiled and brushed his hand against Dash cheek, she slowly stirred but it didn't take long for her brain to process what was happening and put two and two together, her eyes snapped open, her head practically flew back and she looked at Soarin with a mixture of shock and relief. "Wakey, Wakey." He smiled. "You...you absolute, fucking jerk!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, her eyes slightly glazed with tears as she looked at Soarin. "You really had to get shot!?" "He would've shot you if I didn't jump in," Soarin defended, to no avail as Dash's glare didn't subside. "I had to protect you." A small smile started to appear on everyone's face. "I will always protect you, Dash," he added. Rainbow Dash's eyes softened, not by much, she bit her lip as she shut her eyes tight. "Dammit! Dammit! Damn you!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she and Soarin embraced tightly. Holding each other as if they would never get the chance again. Rainbow Dash's dam broke, her tears drenched Soarin's shoulder as the salty drops also, almost soaked his hospital gown. Rainbow Dash reluctantly let go, and vigorously wiped her eyes as the two stared into each other's eyes. Dash remembered they weren't alone in the room and slowly turned her head to see the smirking faces of her friends. "Can I have a minute with Soarin?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Oh? fuck no!" Fleetfoot exclaimed and she crossed her arms, "if SoarinDash is about to be born I wanna be here to witness it." She expressed with a childish pout. "Soarin-what-now?" Dash said with a scrunched face Soarin furrowed his brow at everyone in annoyance, he was not going to let Fleetfoot ruin this moment. He knew Dash was about to kiss him. Suddenly he grabbed Dash's face with his palms, as she stared into his deep emerald eyes. "I love you Dashie," he whispered. "Mpphh" Dash gave a muffled yelp as Soarin crashed his lips onto Dash's, drawing her into a very passionate kiss. Her eyes widened for a second before she closed them and returned the kiss while resting her hands on Soarin's wrist as his hands continued to caress her cheek gently but firmly. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Finally. Finally, they took the next step. Pinkie and Surprise jumped on to the sofa holding balloons that they got from god knows where. "SOARINDASH HAS SAILED!!!" > Β²π•π•†β„‚π•‚π”»π•†π•Žβ„• π•„π”Όπ”Έβ„•π•Š: 𝔻𝕆ℕ𝕋 𝕃𝔼𝔸𝕍𝔼 𝕋ℍ𝔼 𝔽****** ℂ𝕀𝕋𝕐(Part 1) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Wonderbolts HQ was, without a doubt, was one of the most remarkable, impressive and well built, yet very ancient buildings in Cloudsdale. It stood tall, dominant as if indicating to the huge city that, it ruled. If the stationary architecture was able to speak, it would probably say "I am in charge." In relation to a king making a very omnipresent claim to his subjects about his authority. Or maybe a Queen. Either way, both possess an exceptionally substantial amount of power and prominent authority. Respected and loved. That's how one would potentially characterize the building and the occupants living inside it. There were three primary sections which the building was divided into. The main building: this comprised of two training gyms, multiple auxiliary gyms, a medical room, locker rooms and the wonderbolts own residential suite. The second building was the Mess Hall and finally the third building which contained meeting rooms and Spitfire's office. The locker rooms were separated into three categories. Male, female and gender-neutral. All they contained were large horizontal lockers belonging to Wonderbolts who kept all sorts of necessary things. The locker room was also where the cleaners would hang the Wonderbolt's suits which were previously placed in the "dirty" pile which were now freshly clean for the professional stunt fliers to collect the following morning. The locker room was also connected to a cleaners or janitor's closet, containing brooms, mops and various other cleaning supplies. Many of the female Wonderbolts were present in the locker room, grabbing their goggles and getting ready for the busy day ahead. It was almost Hearth Warming and all couldn't wait to head home and see their friends and families spend the holidays with. "Surpriiiiiiiise" Misty Fly groaned as she sat on the bench in the centre of the room with one leg and her cheek resting on her knees. "Can you tie my shoelaces I'm too tired?" She yawned and placed her foot on Surprise' lap. "No problemo." The curly-haired girl replied. "Oh, you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she sat up from the bench she was sat on in the far right of the room. "What?" Misty Fly asked. Rainbow Dash turned her phone screen so the display was in the direction of the girls. "The Equis virus infected nearly half of the city. The government just sent a mass email to everyone. We're in lockdown. Effective immediately." She groaned and fell to the side as she lay on the bench with her hand covering the face in annoyance. "How are we going to go home for winter break?" Vapour Trail said as she placed her goggles on her head. "What about Hearth Warming?" Surprise asked as her hair deflated and her eyes began to dilate to the size of football stadiums. "I don't think we're gonna make it home in time..." Fleetfoot said with a hint of sadness. The girls in the room expressing a similar look of sadness. "Thank Celestia I got here before the lockdown was put into motion," Dash said. "Yeah and then you and your precious Soarin wouldn't be able to see each other." Surprise said from across the room as she held up a sign that said "#SoarinDash forever" and "#whatisappletrash". Dash looked at one of the signs with curiosity as she scrunched her face. "Appletrash? What is that?" She asked. "EXACTLY MY DEAR LITTLE SKITTLES SHORTER THAN THE AVERAGE PEGASUS, DASHIE!" Surprise was suddenly hanging upside from the ceiling as her face was right in front of Dash's with a really silly and insane grin on her face before she quickly pushed herself back up the ceiling towards the open air vent where she was dangling from and disappeared, not for long though as she was back in her original spot a minute later holding the same signs. "uhhh?" Surprise' exuberance for trouble was and is a contagion as Fleetfoot snickered while a slick smile spread, dimpling her cheeks in a way which Dash found both cute and concerning at once. Mostly concerning. "Yeah, you would be aaaaallll the way in Ponyville. I bet your mind could get real creative." Fleetfoot taunted as she lay her head on Dash's lap and looked at her with a prankish grin and bounced her eyebrows. As soon as Fleetfoot had said that Dash's wings suddenly shot open as a raging blush spread across her face. She quickly grabbed her water bottle and gulped down her water before coughing a few times. "HAHAHAHAHAH." Fleetfoot fell off the bench laughing as Surprise and Misty Fly joined moments later, "THAT WAS TOO EASY DASHIE...PFFT...YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN THE LOOK ON YOUR FACE HAHAHAHAHA." Fleetfoot said in between laughs as the other girls slowly joined and giggled quietly. Dash crossed her legs and leaned against the wall, crossing her arms and she pouted. The girls eventually managed to calm themselves down. Dash looked at Fleetfoot while her lips curled. "Aww, what's the matter Fleet, are you just lowkey upset that I would miss Soarin more than my own sister?" She said with a playful yet teasing tone to her voice. Fleetfoot looked at her with a pout and stuck her tongue out at her. "Say whatever you want Dashie, you know you love me more than Mr McMuscles." "If that's what you wanna believe." "Damn Dash, we were separated when we were babies, had shitty parents to the point where one could practically consider us orphans, and then reunited again 20 years later. I don't see an epic story like that happening with yours and Soarin's past." She complained like a child as Dash booped her nose and shook her head while smiling. "Because we didn't know each other when we were kids. Besides, if I did know Soarin when he was a child I would've known you too." Dash responded as she went to the water dispenser to fill up her water bottle. "And because Soarin isn't her brother, Fleetfoot." Vapour sighed, but immediately after saying that her face showcased disgust and curiosity as she looked at Dash. "Right?" "EW VAPOUR NO!" Dash exclaimed, "that's nasty." "Okay good." Vapour Trail sighed, "I don't why that thought came into my head." She said as the girls once again erupted in a fit of giggles. "How long left till practice starts?" Misty Fly asked as she finished brushing her hair. "Just over an hour," Fleetfoot replied while glancing at the digital clock above the door frame. "I'm gonna go find Soarin, or 'Mr McMuscles' as Fleetfoot would like to put it before practice starts. See ya gals." She waved before leaving the locker room. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ The second floor consisted of many rooms, parallel to each other which ran across the hallway. Each room had a large double bed, decent sized built-in wardrobes which consisted of the Wonderbolt's casual wear, suits and dresses for professional events as well as a few pairs of the signature Wonderbolts costume. The room's back wall was a floor to ceiling window, leading to a small balcony. The rooms were connected to a medium-sized ensuite bathroom. Dash was currently walking in the hallway of the second floor, scanning the names on the doors until she found her one she was looking for. She went into the auxiliary gym first, thinking Soarin would've been in there with the boys playing some indoor sports before Spitfire called the team out for practice. The Auxiliary gyms were an open, rectangular gym. Not all auxiliary gyms were the same; Two had been made for indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton and tennis. One auxiliary gym was specially reserved for indoor Football (A/N that would be soccer for all my Americans out there) during the winter season due to the fact that playing outside in negative degrees celsius probably isn't a good idea. The last auxiliary gym contained many different flight tracks and different courses which the Wonderbolts used on almost a daily basis. Some courses were complicated and hazardous, others not so much. Fire streak had told her that she just missed him and he had retreated to his room to grab his goggles which he had forgotten in his room. She quietly hummed a tune to herself as she saw the door she sought. She was about to knock when she realised the door was left slightly ajar and decided to walk in. She saw Soarin inside the wardrobe wiping his goggles with a small cloth. She grinned as she slowly and quietly, tiptoed behind him attempting to scare him by jumping on his back, however, she failed to see Soarin's wings slightly twitch as he placed the cloth on top of the drawer. "I know you're there, babe," he said as he slowly turned to see Dash stood a few feet away from him with an annoyed expression. Darn pegasus sense... "Fuck you." She groaned as Soarin pulled his goggles so they were resting on his head and grabbed Dash's wrist, gazing into her eyes, giving her his signature smirk. "That sentence technically wasn't wrong." He said just before he crashed his lips on hers, without wasting a second Dash returned the kiss and placed her hand on his chest. One of Soarin's hand still grasped onto her wrist as the other wrapped around her waist as he deepened the kiss. Dash released a barely audible, content moan as she wrapped her arms around his neck while the hand that previously held her wrist slowly traced her spine. Soarin felt Dash gasp from the sudden action. Rainbow Dash had an extremely sensitive body, so the slightest touch would have a huge effect on her. A few moments later they both slowly pulled back. "That's one way to say 'Hello,' I guess," Soarin said, his voice low and husky as Dash smiled up at him and nuzzled his nose. "Do it again." She whispered. "Hmm, what's the magic word?" Soarin smirked. His lips loomed over hers, barely an inch between them. She felt Soarin's fingers slowly trail down to her jeans, on the inside of her thighs. (A/N why do i do this omg 🀧) Rainbow groaned in anticipation and softly bit her lip. "S-soar," Dash muttered, her eye's half-lidded. "what?" "Stop...stop teasing," Dash whispered. Soarin's breathing hitched as he smirked as they both leaned in again for a softer and more loving kiss. Behind the kiss, the promise of realness, of the primal desire that lives in their love for each other. Comforting Dash in ways words never could, in fact, Soarin's presence itself gave her a sense of comfort and safety. Every moment the two shared together, each breathes linked to one another. Their hearts forever beating as one. Soarin's tongue at the seam of her lips, she granted him access as he explores her mouth, the action causing Dash to release a moan. She arched her back as she made contact with his chest, chiselled to perfection. Soarin pulled away, a trail of saliva hanging between the two for a moment or two. "So, how was your weekend," Soarin asked as his lips grazed her jawline, slowly trailing kisses down from her chin and around her neck, Dash angling her head to give him better access. "Uh-uhmm....it was-" She tried to respond but found herself enjoying the little pecks Soarin left on her neck. His hands slowly found their way under her hoody and his fingers traced across her well-formed and toned physique, stopping just under her belly button as his finger roamed across her bare skin, Dash groaned in frustration as he teased her; his fingers slowly moving lower and lower. Her heart fluttered in her chest as Soarin trailed the kisses down to her collarbone and back up again to the other side of her neck. Her heartbeat quickened, resulting in her breaths to become less spaced apart as she rested her forehead against his shoulder. Being so open, so vulnerable was a very difficult concept for Dash to grasp. She didn't have the best childhood; her step-mommy and daddy weren't necessarily the nicest people on earth. Especially her father, Twilight told her one time when she opened up to her friends that he was the "root of evil in one's childhood." An idea which Rainbow Dash didn't disagree with. He had made her life a living hell, much more so than he step mum had. Could you imagine the relief, joy and comfort she felt when she found Fleetfoot, after believing that she had no family left? She was just three when her's and Fleetfoot's parents separated. The two sisters being pulled away from one another for almost 20 years, over time forgetting the other even existed. Rainbow Dash had built her character on being strong, independent and brave. Being with or around men (not just romantically) never made her feel safe or cared for, and as much as she hated to admit it, a little anxious. Her hypothalamus would activate her body's fight or flight response. She clearly hadn't fully recovered from her childhood trauma. So for Soarin to so easily break down her walls obviously had to mean something. The only difference with his case was that she never had felt alone or endangered in his arms. Falling in love with him wasn't the difficult part, for her it was admitting that it had happened at all. He was sweet, caring and most importantly never made her feel like she wasn't loved; but above all of that, he was her best friend. She knew she could count on him for anything as could he to her. He made every other man appear a two-dimensional drawing to her. Dash truly didn't know how much of his touch she craved until she felt it for the first time. But honestly, right now she really wanted nothing else in the world than to be in-between his mattress and him. Words are only a crude tool of emotion as it was her heart which Soarin had won. A trophy he intended on keeping. She was his drug. One-touch and the intoxication are instant. Just her scent alone would send him into a heady trance, one that will not end until both their bodies are still once more, just warm and snuggled in as close as two souls possibly could be. One-touch from Dash and it was over, he felt electricity in his skin, hormones shutting down of his higher brain and the rise of his animal self. Something about Dash intrigued him, actually scrap that, everything about Dash intrigued him. Being granted her love was like walking into a house and finally realising you were home. He was so in love with her words could not fathom, but actions could. Two years she had been his, two years he had been hers. He wondered how he would trick her into revealing her ring size, or maybe he could get one of the girls to find out that information for him. Wait...maybe Fleet knew? Whatever, he knew it was gonna happen soon....very soon. But right now, this very second, he wanted nothing more than to pin her against his bed. Soarin pulled back and looked at the bed in his room, Dash turned her head too before looking at him with half-lidded eyes and nodded. Soarin picked her up, and no later than a couple of seconds did Dash find her back collide against the soft and plush mattress. Soarin pressed his lips to hers once more as Dash felt her brain set on fire and a familiar warmth returned to her body, her hands were up against her head as both their fingers intertwined. His mouth was so warm, the caress of his lips softer than Dash could have imagined as she opened my mouth with a low moan. An interesting way to start the morning, indeed. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ ALRIGHT 'BOLTS, EVERYONE BETTER GET THEIR SORRY ASSES ON THE RUNWAY IN FIVE MINUTES OR SO HELP ME CELESTIA YOU WILL REGRET YOU WERE EVER BORN!" Spitfire's voice boomed through the speakers throughout the building. "Damn captain's vocal cords are still working after all these years? Does she even know how to talk below volume 15?" Lightning Streak said as he rubbed his ears. Him, Fleetfoot, Misty and Wave were walking out the locker room's building and approaching the runway. "Yeah, with that big ass throat I bet she sucks Wave off real good," Fleetfoot smirked as she nudged Wave, who looked at her with a disturbed look on his face. "Shut up, Fleet." "Oh fuck, I did not need that mental image in my head." Misty Fly slapped her forehead as she and the other three approached the rest of the Wonderbolts, all doing warm-ups or conversing with one another. Fleetfoot grinned as she saw Rainbow Dash and Soarin approaching, holding hands and having a small conversation with one another. Rainbow Dash blushed as Soarin gave her a brief kiss on her lips and laughed as she playfully punched his arm. She hated public affection, holding hands was as far as she would go and maybe on the rare occasion, she would kiss him on his cheek. Soarin knew that and loved exploiting her for it. They both smiled as they parted ways. Soarin went to the lads to warm up before Spitfire came to give instructions for the day and Rainbow Dash approached Fleetfoot as she eyed her in curiosity and tilted her head. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked. Fleet looked like she was about to explode and she squished her cheeks together. "I saw that you two are going to be the death of me." She responded as she grabbed Dash's cheeks with her hand and lightly shook her head. Rainbow Dash removed Fleetfoot's hand from her face and rolled her eyes. She was honestly used to Fleetfoot being well...Fleetfoot. You either get harassed by her or help her harass another couple, no in-between. "Also why is your hair so messy?" She asked with a troublesome tone, "did you two have a lesson on the birds and the bees?" Rainbow Dash groaned and buried her head in her hands and her face heat up. "Damn Dash, the day has barely started and you two are already pounding each other." Misty Fly smirked. "Fuck you, Misty Fly." "Goodmorning Wonderbolts, I hope you didn't have a goodnight rest." Spitfire spoke as the team lined up in front of her, "The routine is complete and everyone seems to have it memorised well. If you don't then what the fuck was your single nuclei for a brain doing these past few weeks? I'm hoping everyone has the routine memorise though, Well done on the progress by the way." She complimented before continuing. "I want us to spend at least two hours rehearsing this morning. First, the smaller squads that I assigned you to work with the past few weeks to show the team their routine, and then we need to go over the finale routine. After lunch hit the auxiliary gyms to the weight room, I honestly don't care just don't slack off. I need this team in top shape. Finally, Soarin, Fire, Sky and Vapour come to the meeting room at 5 pm. It's your turn to go on parole to the Equestrian border with the rest of Canterlot's military." She stated, earning a groan from the four pegasi. Paroles were mandatory for every Wonderbolt to do since they were part of the military too. Spitfire would pick between four to six pegasi to go on parole with the rest of the military either from Cloudsdale or Canterlot to the border for a week. The Wonderbolts hated it because of how boring and time consuming it was. "Also, I hate that I have to even be telling you this. DO NOT LEAVE THIS CITY." Spitfire ordered, "If you want to be infected with Equis and die, go ahead. I swear some of your skulls are so thick, drilling through it would cost a pony their entire lifetime. Yes, I'm looking at you, boys." She smirked at the male Wonderbolts as the girls giggle. "Sooooo we can't leave the city?" Lightning Streak stupidly asked. "No you dingbat, what the fuck do you think "lockdown" means? You brainless cretin." Spitfire rolled her eyes. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ The second building was across the main building, crossing the runaway. The Mess Hall. It was large and consisted of seating booths placed on the side walls with a large gap where the line would usually be formed for food. Each side had up to 4 booths; 8 in total and allowed up to 4 people to sit at each booth. The far end was where the food was served up. It took up the whole back wall and had an open kitchen in the back where the chefs would cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. "Why are you two so late?" Fire Streak said, addressing Soarin and Wave who sat down at the booth across from each other. Soarin turned to Fire and smirked. "I had to pick up something in the mail." He said as a goofy smile spread to his face. Rapidfire grinned as he stared at Soarin and then at Wave, and then his eyes widened in realisation "did he go to-?" "Yep," Wave responded "Did he buy-?" "Yep." "Is he gonna-?" "Yep." Sky Stinger tilted his head in confusion. "Oh my fucking days, what is it!? I'm so clueless!" He asked. "Yeah me too." Fire said. "Me three." Lightning agreed. "Lightning, when are you not clueless?" Fire said. Wave smirked and called the girls over, who looked at him in confusion but left their tables and walked on over. He then ushered everyone close and whispered some secretive information which only reached the ears of those he desired to, causing the Wonderbolts gathered around to gasp and stare at Soarin wide-eyed as he still had a goofy smile spread across his face, but was now looking at the other parties on and around the table. "Thank you for the valuable information Fleetfoot, you been a great help...for once." He snickered as Fleetfoot whacked him across the head and stuck her tongue out at him. "You're welcome, ass. I have all the insight you could ever need on Dash stored in here." She grinned as she tapped her forehead. "Someone text Blaze and High Winds too, but please tell them to keep it a secret. I'll fill Spitfire in when I see her in the meeting tonight. I'm gonna need everyone's help though, you all in?" He asked. "FUCK YEAH!" ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ The medical room used for treating minor wounds. The Wonderbolts performed many tricks and stunts. Not only at shows but for their leisure and obviously when they were training; which happened to be when most of the injuries would happen. Anything major was taken straight to Cloudsdale General Hospital which was a not even a two-minute flight from the HQ. The government had intentionally built the HQ relatively close to the Hospital for emergencies and more difficult to treat wounds. Spitfire was currently anxiously waiting on the trainer table, fiddling with her fingers. "So, you wanna tell me why you wanted me here with you?" Rainbow Dash asked. Spitfire was about to respond before the nurse shifted her attention to the Wonderbolt's captain and smiled before handing her an envelope. "Came this morning from the hospital captain." She said, before prioritising another patient for treatment. "Thanks," Spitfire said before she signalled Dash to follow her. Rainbow Dash raised her eyebrow but complied. Rainbow Dash thought Spitfire was going to leave the building and head for the Mess Hall where every other 'bolt was for lunchtime, but Spitfire grabbed her arm and leas her up towards her room and closed the door before sighing and pressing her back against it. "Celestia's sake Spitfire, what's wrong?" Rainbow Dash asked. Spitfire sighed, "It's important, and for the time being, very private information. I'm telling you because Fleetfoot and Surprise would be waaaayy to ecstatic, Misty Fly probably wouldn't be able to keep it a secret and Blaze and High Winds are away on their honeymoon. I need you to promise me you won't tell anyone until I give you permission too." "So what you're essentially saying is, I was never your first choice with this 'private information' you're about to tell me? I see how it is." Dash said as she quoted Spitfire's words with her wings, and comically pouted. "Nooo, ugh Dash why are you so difficult. That's not what I'm saying." Spitfire groaned as she smacked her forehead. Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and sat on Spitfire's bed with her elbows on her knees. "Okay, I'm listening. Spill." Dash said as she laid on Spitfires bed staring at the ceiling. "I'm starving so this better be worth it." "Promise me you won't tell anyone?" Spitfire said as she opened the envelope and read the letter. "I promise. But what's so important that I have to be late for lu-" "I'm pregnant!" "-unch." Rainbow Dash sat up and stared at Spitfire with her mouth agape. "You wanna run that by me one more time?" Spitfire sat down, with her back against the door and her feet stretched out towards where Dash was sat on her bed. She showed Dash the letter the nurse had gives her earlier. "I'm Bob the Builder all of a sudden and am now constructing a baby pegasus inside me," Spitfire said in a monotonous tone, but Dash could sense slight fear in her voice. Spitfire slowly looked up to see Rainbow Dash in the same upright position with the same shocked expression displayed on her face. "And before you ask, yes it's Wave's. As if I would cheat on the only man I ever loved and ruin an almost two-year relationship like that." "Good, if it wasn't I actually would've ripped you limb from limb. Element of Loyalty remember. " Dash said with a cheeky smile that lasted for about a second, before her expression returned to the previous one. "That would also explain why you were extra mean today, with a side of mean and a sprinkle of mean on top." Dash quietly snickered. "That made no sense but for some reason, I understood what you were trying to say." Spitfire rolled her eyes, and she rested her chin on her knee. "Come on Dash, aren't you supposed to like to comfort me or something!?" Spitfire exclaimed as she threw her arms out. "It's just...umm. This is actually insane but..." Dash stuttered "Come on, Dash. Spit it out." "...me too," Dash said, as placed her head in her palms. "You too, what?" Spitfire said as she raised an eyebrow. "Well I haven't gotten it confirmed it yet, but the signs are there." Dash said as she took a deep breath and made eye contact with Spitfire, "I've also turned into Bob the Builder and I'm constructing a project inside me that will be complete in 9 months." Dash placed her hands on her belly and weakly chuckled. "Well then...." Spitfire slowly nodded a few times as she rested her chin in her palms. "What now?" "We tell Soarin and Wave, obviously. The longer we keep this a secret the harder it will be to tell." Dash responded. "There are a lot of dark outcomes going through my head right now and I'm trying desperately to ignore them." Dash vented as she bit her lip and looked away. "Me too," Spitfire said as she made eye contact with Dash. She got up and sat next to Rainbow Dash and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Do you know how far along you are?" She asked. "Well, the last time we did...it....was uhm-err...this morning," Dash said, her voice just above a whisper as her cheeks turned red. She puffed them out and looked the other direction and cleared her throat, "but I don't think it's possible to conceive that quick, so if I got knocked up before this morning then I'm just over a week along." Dash responded, as her heartbeat significantly quickened. "You?" She asked. "Two to three weeks I'm guessing," Spitfire responded, as she lay her head on Dash's shoulder; they both sat there in silence for a few minutes before Spitfire and Dash's stomachs had decided enough was enough and released a growl of hunger. Spitfire laughed as she got up from her bed and walked towards the door. "Can we get food now? Or do you have another bomb you need to drop on me?" Dash asked as she pouted. "No, I don't, jackass. Let's go get lunch now, please." Spitfire chuckled as they both walked out. > ³𝕋𝕙𝕖 π•Œπ•Ÿπ•šπ•§π•–π•£π•€π•– π•Šπ•  𝕍𝕒𝕀π•₯ 𝕋𝕠 𝕄𝕖 (Part 1) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow Dash smiled as she looked down at the boy sleeping peacefully. She quietly laughed to herself as she watched his legs kick in a jagged manner. A small and content smile upon his face as he peacefully roamed Luna's dream realm. There was a purity to the way she gazed at him, the love given and received. He was hers, and she wasn't sure how much more of her heart he had left to take, not that she was complaining, of course. She remembered the day he came into her life, clear as a summer's day. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ "SWEET CELESTIA!!" Rainbow Dash screamed out in agony as the pain overtook her body. With each contraction followed pain which overtook Dash's entire being. When the pain passed it was only for a short moment or so and she breathed with closed eyes, unwilling to re-engage with life outside of her own body. She lay still as the epidural was administered, waiting for the agony to subside. She originally wasn't going to have it but good lord the pain, not to mention her delivery lasted longer than normal. To her right was her husband, Soarin. She squeezed the absolute living daylights out his poor hand, Soarin didn't mind though. She needed relief and he was there to provide her with it. He was the pegasus she swore to love until she took her very last breath on this planet, but right now she wanted to do nothing more than to rip his head off. "SOARIN...UGH!" She yelled out, "YOU DID THIS TO ME...I'M GONNA-AGGHHH...I'M GONNA FUCKING MURDER YOU!" She bellowed. Soarin looked at her in concern. She wasn't really....right? He glanced at the doctor as she looked at Dash's vitals who smiled at her and slightly shook her head. "Don't worry, that's just the pain talking." She slightly smiled, as she and her nurses got ready to help Rainbow Dash deliver her baby. Soarin breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at Dash again and planted a kiss on her forehead. "Almost done Dashie. You're almost there." He whispered as she rested her head on his shoulder and panted. Initially, he had been worried. Earlier the labour wasn't progressing and the contraction seemed to significantly weaken. Rainbow Dash gave one last final push, granting the request the doctor had given her. "Its a boy!" The doctor smiled, as he handed the newborn to the nurse. "A boy?" Rainbow Dash weakly asked, her eyes glazed over. The doctor chuckled and nodded. Rainbow Dash slowly turned her head towards the direction of her baby, not soarin, her other baby. He was being cleaned up and getting dressed by the nurses and Soarin walked over to them to look at his child. "I did it?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "You did it," Soarin said as he patted her forehead with a towel to clean up the sweat dripping down from her face. "Okay, goodnight I sleep now." She said, rather quickly and passed out on the hospital bed. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ Rainbow Dash stroked the infant cheek tenderly, a content smile on her face as she watched him open his bright emerald eyes to look at his mother and let out a happy squeal of delight. Rainbow Dash laughed as she reached into the baby crib and picked him up in her arms, his head lay on her arm as she cradled her two-month-old in her arms and nuzzled his forehead. The infant responding by giggling. He wasn't a very demanding child and didn't seem to cry unless he was hungry or needed a diaper change; something both Soarin and Rainbow Dash were grateful for. It made nights a whole less stressful. That was love though right? Her everything belonged in this tiny form of a being. He wore a very stylish and snazzy winter outfit, courtesy of auntie Rarity. "Hey," Soarin said in a low voice as he smiled at his wife, who turned her head to the direction of him and smiled lovingly at him. "Hey, we were just coming up to the stadium tunnel." She responded as Soarin approached her from behind and wrapped his arms around her, his head bent down and resting on the crook of her neck, both Wonderbolts gazing lovingly at their child. "Remember how scared we were about being parents when he was born," Dash said. "Yeah, I'd like to say we did a good job," Soarin smirked and kissed Dash's cheek, she shook her head and chuckled to herself. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ Rainbow Dash smiled as she slowly turned to lay on her side and watched Soarin hold the baby. His tiny head lay upon Soarin's hand, while his tiny fingers curled around Soarin's index finger with immense grip. The baby cooed, let out a small yawn making Soarin and Dash both d'aww at the sight. His grip tightened on Soarin's finger as she slowly opening his eyes and gazed into his father's eyes lovingly and squealed while curling his fingers up, his eyes slowly moved to his right and fell upon his mother's, giving the same reaction. "He has your eyes." Rainbow Dash whispered, "they're exactly the same, that's insane." "His hair two shades from yours too," Soarin commented. He was born at 2:57 am. 3.2 kilograms, a healthy weight for a newborn. No health issues were found by the doctors and everything about him was perfect. His tiny, fluttering wings were a shade darker than Soarin's, his eyes were of a deep emerald pool, resembling his fathers. In fact, their eyes were exactly identical. His hair had three stripes: green, navy then dark purple. "Are we gonna be okay at this?" Rainbow Dash asked. Soarin looked up to examine Dash. That was her "i'm scared I'm gonna screw up" face. Scrunched eyebrows, a slight frown, nervously biting her bottom lip, fidgeting with her fingers; yep he knew that look too well. He leaned forward and placed a brief kiss on her lips. "We'll be fine at this, I promise." "What if I mess up? What if I can't be a good mother to him. I don't wanna end up like my par-" Soarin placed his finger on Dash's lips. "You will not mess up, you're gonna be the coolest mum any child could ever have." He winked, using Dash's signature quote as she rolled her eyes and quietly chuckled at the statement, "And I promise you, never in a million moons will you ever end up like your parents." Soarin reassured, "I'm gonna be with you throughout all of this. It's me and you forever, remember?" Rainbow Dash smiled at him, planted a kiss on his cheek and lay her head to rest on Soarin's shoulder. "Me and you, forever." She weakly said, the fatigue clear in her voice. She spoke quietly, her voice a whisper but just loud enough for Soarin to hear. Her head snuggled against Soarin's shoulder, one hand stroking the baby's cheek as she fell asleep in her husband's embrace. The baby reached his hand up, one hand resting on Soarin's lips, resulting in Soarin kissing the palm of his son's hand. The baby clearly found this entertaining as he laughed at the gesture. The door to the hospital room opened, revealing the Wonderbolts and the Mane Six. He ushered them inside, signalling them to be quiet as Dash was sleeping. "The favourite aunties have arrived." High Winds and Fleetfoot quietly said in a cheerful tone, approaching Soarin who carefully handed the baby to Fleetfoot and High Winds. Fire Streak and Misty Fly arrived straight after with eyebrows raised, "favourite aunties?" Misty Fly repeated. "Meet Spectrum Zorion Skies." "He's beautiful." Rarity said as she rested her hand on Fleetfoot's shoulder to look at Spectrum. "I'm so proud of you, Soar." High Winds said as she hugged Soarin. " "Awww, thank you, Windy." He replied as she hugged his little sister back. "where are mom and dad? I thought they were coming with you." "Got held up in Canterlot, they'll be in Cloudsdale in a few hours." Soarin got up to greet the rest of his friends, everyone bringing presents, congratulating the new parents and taking turns to greet the baby. 4 Hours Later... All of the Wonderolts and Mane Six had left (except for High Winds) and promised they'd be back in the morning tomorrow. About half an hour after they had left Soarin's parents had arrived. Soft Breeze and Typhoon Skies. He and High Winds greeted their parents, Soarin's mum immediately bursting into tears and exclaiming how proud she was of her baby boy. "Mama, I'm twenty-five," Soarin whined, as he failed to remove himself from his mother's grasp. "You're still my baby boy." She replied, Soarin just rolled his eyes and complied. Once he was finally free from his mother's death grip, he went to greet his father. "Oooh, let me see the precious angel." Soarin's mum exclaimed as she approached the now awake Rainbow Dash, who smiled weakly at her mother in law and handed the baby over to her. "Now, we just have to wait for this one to give us a grandchild." Soarin's father playfully nudged High Winds, who comically stuck her tongue out at him and rolled her eyes. "Daddy, I am literally gay. I dig vaginas, not dicks." She said as her dad and Soarin burst out laughing. "High Winds! Language." her mum scolded. "You can adopt!" Typhoon defended and shrugged. "Fair enough, maybe in a few years." Windy sighed. She wasn't gonna win this with her dad. High Winds and Blaze were recently engaged, it hadn't even been a month since High Winds proposed. It wasn't that the two didn't want to have children, they just weren't ready for that commitment yet. Windy's father, of course, knew this, he just loved teasing her for the sake of his own entrainment. "Oh my, Rainbow." Soarin's mum, Soft Breeze exclaimed. "He's absolutely gorgeous." She said as she looked upon the smiling baby with tenderness and affection. Rainbow Dash smiled tiredly as she lay her head on her pillow and quietly yawned. Soft Breeze had made Rainbow Dash promise her on her wedding day that from that day on she wouldn't know as "Mrs Skies." To Dash, but rather she knows as "mum." To her. "You are going to be my daughter in a few minutes, after all." In Rainbow Dash's personal, and probably biased, opinion; she definitely had the best in-laws. Heck, Soarin's dad even vowed to walk her down the aisle when he learned she didn't have a dad of her own to do it. High Winds was really welcoming, and was practically the female version of Soarin but minus the Pie kink and way more childish. That was something her and Fleetfoot shared, the two got along really well because of that. "You did a great job, Rainbow." She smiled and hugged her. "He's absolutely gorgeous." "Hey!" Soarin interrupted, "I helped too. Give me some credit" He sat on the sofa and crossed his arms like a child, pouting. High Winds smirked and jumped on top of him, resulting in Soarin falling onto the sofa on his stomach and Windy laying down on top with her head resting on the back of his. "Windy, the fuck? get off me." Soarin complained. "Nuh-uh." She chuckled and continued to annoy Soarin. "My kids are clowns." Typhoon rubbed his forehead. "They get it from your side of the family." Soft Breeze smugly replied. "I'm going, to be honest here, I am the human form of the clown emoji in this family." High Winds shrugged. "I embrace that title with great honour." "I'm the human form of the one hundred emoji, get on my level windy." Rainbow Dash smirked. "Nah I beat both of you, I'm the human form of the pie emoji." Soarin smugly smiled as he pushed High Winds off him. Everyone in the room burst out laughing. Spectrum glanced between the occupants in the room, utterly confused as to what they found so amusing. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ "Human form of the pie emoji, you're such a dumbass." Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and chuckled slightly as she handed Spectrum to Soarin. "I'm your dumbass though." Soarin shot back. "That you are." She kissed his cheek. "Come on, it's almost time for the show to start." Soarin smiled, as he grabbed a binder from the room and made his way out towards the stadium behind Dash after he had placed Spectrum in his baby carrier seat. The Wonderbolts had a huge sold-out show today in Cloudsdale. For obvious maternity reasons, Rainbow Dash couldn't perform up until her maternity time was done. Spitfire had organised the show in honour of Spectrum's arrival, and it was more of a surprise for Rainbow Dash. The couple walked out of the locker room in the stadium and through the hallway into the stadium tunnel that leads out into the main arena where the show would take place. Soarin took the baby carrier from Dash and placed it on a bench inside the tunnel while Dash greeted Blaze and Surprise who were warming up for the show. "It feels weird not preparing for the show," Dash said, as she peeked out the curtain to examine the crowd in the sold-out open dome stadium. "Yeah, I'm so used to you being on my right instead of Misty Fly." Blaze laughed as she put her hair in her ponytail. "Alright Wonderbolts, everyone in position. Show starts in a minute and a half." Spitfire spoke up as she tapped her clipboard and spoke with the event staff to make sure everything backstage was set up and ready to go. "You ready to witness the best show of your life?" Spitfire smirked as she placed her arm around Rainbow Dash's shoulder. "Oh, confident are we?" Rainbow Dash smugly replied. "You two are radiating such intense sexual tension and I am honestly here for it." Surprise teased. "Surprise, fuck off." Wave rolled his eyes and playfully glared at Dash, "tryna steal my girl?" Rainbow Dash laughed and punched his arm. "Can't steal something that's already mine." She back talked and walked over to where Spectrum was. "I'm getting you back for that!" He called back. "I'm counting on it!" Rainbow Dash picked Spectrum from his baby carrier and placed a blanket on him to cover his face and hide him from the paparazzi and reporters which were obviously present at the show. She walked towards the exit of the tunnel leading into the open field in the dome. She stood close the right wall carrying Spectrum with his head resting on her chest and one of her hand cradling him while the other rested on top of the blanket on the back of his head, the crowd erupted in a bunch of cheers as they caught a glimpse of Rainbow Dash in the tunnel, she smiled and waved before slowly moving back to hide from the crowd and not risk Spectrum having his face plastered on every newspaper in Equestria and beyond. Keeping Spectrum hidden from the public eye was, in Rainbow Dash and Soarin's opinion, the most challenging task to do. Doctor appointments and just casual walks were hard as the pram had to be covered with a blanket so paps wouldn't catch a glimpse of him. Soarin and Rainbow Dash, as well as the rest of the Wonderbolts, had made sure to keep Spectrum out of the public eye so he could enjoy a childhood without having camera's following him around 24/7. That is until he was old enough to endure that in his later childhood. The two watched with Wonderbolts fly out one by one after the announcer had signalled their arrival and the beginning of the show. The crowd clapped and stomped and cheered as loud as they could as the Wonderbolts took their position and flew in various directions. Rainbow Dash slightly turned Spectrum's head so he was facing the arena. "Look buddy, that's your dad." She whispered as she grabbed his tiny hand and waved at Soarin who in return blew her a kiss before Spitfire signalled them to begin. The show consisted of many aerial dives, barrel rolls, climbing up and falling with style, everyone playing a small individual role of different acends and decendes. However, the show was still a team routine. The clouds were manipulated, as well as the weather. Many reserves were stationed above on clouds, working on cloud and weather control to ensure the routine went smoothly. Spectrum watched them, his eyes wide saucers, analysing everything they did. "bah-baahh" he squealed out of delight and focused his concentration upon his non biological aunties and uncles, mainly his father; of course. Rainbow Dash, on the other hand, watched the show with her mouth agape and eyes wide. This was...by far the most elaborate and complicated routine she had ever seen. "God fucking dammit Spitfire, this is the best show of my life." She gaped. The arena suddenly became dark as the reserves on cloud control clumped the clouds together, with a small ball in the lower-middle of the arena. Rainbow Dash tilted her head in confusion as she examined the routine. The Wonderbolts all flew up and disappeared in the thin sheet of cloud above the stadium except for Soarin. "Huh?" He flew around the cloud at an immense speed, until he became a blue blur. He suddenly outstretched his wings and came to a sudden halt. The crowd gasped. "No way...." Rainbow Dash put a hand over her mouth, her eyes glazed. The cloud was a replica of Spectrum's face, smiling. Soarin then accelerated up like a bullet into the thin sheet of cloud. All was quiet for a moment as everyone in the stadium looked upon the field. The silent and eerily quiet stadium, some murmurs in the crowd when suddenly a few Wonderbolts shot down and descended back into the stadium, a hole in the cloud sheet where a ray of the sunshine illuminated the cloud Soarin had crafted while the area outside the area of the circle rained. The contrast of the rain and sunshine in a small area eventually created a rainbow. The Wonderbolts then all manipulated another vacant ball of cloud into Rainbow Dash's Element of Harmony. Before depending, and shooting up in a spearhead formation as the two manipulated clouds exploded. The crowd erupted in roars and cheers as clapping and fans cheering took over the stadium, the Wonderbolts landed and bowed before flying in two single-file lines back into the tunnel. Fleetfoot ran up to Rainbow Dash and took Spectrum from her and nuzzled him as she held him up. His two hand placed on both sides of her face. "Did little Zorry like the performance?" Fleetfoot coddled him, resulting in Spectrum laughing. "Well Crash, did I or did I not blow your mind?" Spitfire smirked as she grabbed her water bottle. Rainbow Dash just stared at her with her mouth still agape. Spitfire took a swig of water and nodded, "yep! I blew her mind." "I think you broke her captain." Lighting Streak laughed as Fire waved a hand in front of Dash's unresponsive face. Rainbow Dash blinked and shook her head. "That.....was.....AWESOME!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, with possibly the biggest smile on her face as she ran up to Soarin and embraced him. The Wonderbolts all laughed at Dash's excitement. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ "I'm going to go give this Spitfire this." Soarin waved a blue folder, "be right back." He said as he gave Dash a brief kiss on her lips before he went to Spitfire's office. "Alright." The Wonderbolts had just returned back to Wonderbolts HQ after the show, the sun was just a mere few minutes away from setting. "Phew! Someone needs a nappy change." Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she placed Spectrum on the changing table. "This is still the worst part of parenthood." She gagged as she finished changing him. Rainbow Dash disposed of the dirty contents into the relevant bin and went to wash her hands after she placed Spectrum in his crib. She flinched as she heard a rustle outside and slowly approached the window and peeked outside. Nothing? She shrugged and closed the tall window. "Probably the wind." She was about to go to the bathroom and brush her teeth when she suddenly felt a presence in the room. Pegasi sense. She scrunched her eyebrows, Spectrum was already fast asleep in his crib. She walked towards the door leading to the illuminated hallway in the Compound. "Soarin?" She called out as she stepped outside her room. No one was there. Rainbow Dash sighed. She was being paranoid for no reason. Right? "Hello, Rainbow Dash." A very familiar feminine voice spoke. Rainbow gulped as she slowly turned around. Her eyes widened as she stood there, a sinister grin on her face. "Been a while, hasn't it?" "Lightning Dust?" Rainbow Dash said, "what are you doing here? Why are you in a Shadowbolt uniform?" She asked. "Dashie please, I had to go somewhere before you ruined my chance at getting my dream job." She glared. "I'm just here to get my revenge." She chuckled as she moved a little too close to the sleeping and unaware Spectrum fir Rainbow Dash's liking. "Such a cutie. Who would've thought you out of all people would become a mother?" She laughed. "Lightning Dust. Stay the fuck away from him." Dash growled as she moved towards her baby. Her motherly instincts kicked in and all she wanted to do right now was defend her baby at all costs. "Dash, how evil do you think I am? He's not going to die....Well atleast not by my hands." She smirked as she reached in a picked Spectrum up. Rainbow Dash readied her wings and was ready to pounce on Lighting Dust. No way was she going to let her child be put in harms way. "But so help me Celestia, if you make one more move towards me...." Spectrum suddenly awoke from the sudden noise, his eyes landing on the unfamiliar face of Lightning Dust instead of his parents and he immediately started crying. She had to get Spectrum away from her without risking his life. "Lightning Dust please, he's scared. Give him to me and we can talk this out." Rainbow Dash pleaded. "Talk this out!? TALK THIS OUT? You ungrateful, spoilt bitch. Why do you get everything? What's so fucking special about you!? WHY DID YOU TAKE EVERYTHING FROM ME!?" Lightning Dust lashed out, out of pure rage and anger. She was driven by revenge, clearly. "Lightning Dust I-" "SHUT UP!" Lightning Dust suddenly opened her wings, Spectrum still in her arms, wailing loudly. In a second she was gone out the corridor. Rainbow Dash screamed out of pure terror as she chased after. She was definitely faster than Lightning Dust but Lightning Dust was definitely more sneaky. She quickly made a sharp turn right after she decended down the stairs. Rainbow Dash was flying so fast her eyes started stinging as she didn't have her flight goggled on. Her vision blurred because of the tears and she could barely see clearly, but she knew where Lightning Dust was. All she had to was follow the sound every mother dreaded; the sound of her baby crying. Rainbow Dash was suddenly in the entrance lobby of the main building, she zipped behind the counter and pressed the emergency alarm that rang throughout the building before she followed in pursuit of Lightning Dust. She was on the runway, handing her baby to unknown man also wearing a Shadowbolt uniform. Rainbow Dash fell to her knees as she covered her mouth with her hand. There were too many Shadowbolts for her to fight. Rainbow Dash slightly flinched as she heard the sound of feet running and familiar voices calling her name, but she was too focused on her endangered baby to realise. "LIGHTNING DUST!?" Spitfire exclaimed. Soarin stood protectively in front of Rainbow Dash, shielding her from the approaching Shadowbolts who clearly had evil intentions with his wife. "Spitfire, it's been such a long time. I would love to sit and chat but I have someplace to be. Toodles." She waved her fingers in a dramatic fashion. The male shadowbolts, who's face was covered with a mask grabbed a magical sphere which had a magenta and dark purple gradient hue. The Wonderbolts attacked but it was too late, he dropped the sphere on the ground and just like that. The Shadowbolts were gone. Spectrum was gone. Rainbow Dash started to hyperventilate as the tears gushed out of her eyes without anything in their way. Soarin hugged her as she cried, her cheek rested on Soarin's chest as Soarin held her close. "SPECTRUUUUUUMM!"
