Sometimes it takes a situation that brings you to the brink of death to realise your feelings.

Sunset got attacked. Good thing her friends were nearby and got her to the hospital before any serious damage could take place. Right?

Right?

Friends and Romance.

Sunset was pushed into an alleyway where the moonlight shined onto a hooded figure. Said figure turned around and now Sunset's mind put together the pieces. It was undeniable. The height, the anger and the sheer body shape.

"What the hell do you want Gilda?"

She laughed in response. "What the hell do you think, unicorn? Use that brain quickly.

Sunset sighed, putting an arm to her head in annoyance. "Anon A Miss? Are you really pissed about that still? That was almost a year ago!"

Gilda growled and removed her hood. "I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE TIME, SUNSET! I KNOW IT WAS YOU! THANKS TO YOU, MY NUDES WERE LEAKED TO THE WHOLE SCHOOL!"

Sunset sighed again. "Let me go right now. I'll not tell the police."

She shook her head. "I don't care about the law anymore. I've got nothing to loose."

Gilda approached Sunset slowly, unsheathing her combat knife. When Sunset was backed into a wall, Gilda's face lit up like she was crazy. "Oh, this is going to be fun..."

She brought the knife up and slashed Sunset's arm, leaving a deep cut all the way down. She did that again and again until the lower portion was severed from the arm itself, leaving until the elbow cut off. Sunset was losing conciseness, and fast.

Gilda brought up the knife once more and slashed Sunset's left eye, leaving a huge scar running along it. Sunset screamed our in pain and that's when Gilda noticed the 3 shadowed people who were guarding the way out were speeding off and were now replaced with Sunset's friends, charging in.

Gilda had a fight with Applejack but her geode allowed her to come out on top. Twilight rushed to Sunset's side and called for Rainbow. Twilight picked up the heavily bleeding girl and gave her to Rainbow. Nothing had to be said before Rainbow took off a lightning speed towards the hospital.

"AJ, keep Gilda pinned down. Rarity, call the police. Fluttershy and Pinkie guard the alleyway and wait for police."

"What about you?" Pinkie asked. But the purple haired girl was already long gone, taking off for the hospital.

Rainbow was in the waiting room, bottom half covered in her friend's blood. Twilight and Rainbow made eye contact before she sat down next to the rainbow haired girl.

"What did they say?" She asked, burying her face into Rainbow's arm, letting the night's events was over her.

Rainbow sighed. "Not a lot. She's in surgery right now. She lost a lot of blood."

Twilight gave in, and settled into Rainbow's lap. At first, Dash was confused, but the raising, lowering and gentle snores explained it in less than a minute.

Twilight was awoken by gentle shakes. She opened her eyes to find Rainbow.... Rocking her?

"Oh, sorry. Did you have a nice nap?" Rainbow asked, smiling.

Twilight blushed. "Please don't treat me like a child, Rainbow. Are they allowing visitors?"

Rainbow nodded. "Do you wanna go see your girlfriend?

Twilight groaned." She's not my girlfriend. Let's go."

Rainbow rolled her eyes and got up, walking to the front desk. The nurse explained the basics and allowed them to enter the room, which was room 95.

They opened the door quietly to find an exhausted Sunset with hair covering a part of her face. The arm that had been lost had been replaced with metal, which came as a surprise to the two girls.

Sunset looked up and brought her knees up to her face, trying not to cry.

"Sunset?" Twilight asked. "Please, lift up your hair." she took on a motherly role which surprised both Rainbow and Sunset.

She shook her head. "I don't wanna..."

Twilight sat down besides the bed and signalled Sunset to come closer.

"I'll go get snacks, you two don't get that intimate."

Twilight would of thrown a pillow at Rainbow if she wasn't focused on Sunset's arm. "Prosthetic, huh?"

Sunset looked up and weakly smiled. "Yeah, I'm getting used to it slowly." She clenched her fist into a ball and released it a few times.

"Can I see your eye?" Twilight asked once more.

Sunset looked away. "You'll make fun of me..."

Twilight hugged her friend. "I'd never do that, Sunny."

Sunset sighed and used her and to move the hair out of the way, revealing a scar which was still bleeding a bit and a damaged eye.

"Doctors say my scar will fade in a while. But, they can't say good things for my eye. I'm half blind in it now, all thanks to that bitch."

Twilight began to cry and hugged her friend deeply. "Sunset, I promise you, you'll climb out of this!"

She sighed. "What makes you think that?"

Twilight looked over and smiled. "Do you really want to know?"

Sunset nodded, playfully. "Enlighten me, Sparky."

Twilight nodded and kissed Sunset deeply. To her surprise, she kissed back and when they parted, Sunset looked her dead in the eye and laughed. "Glad we cleared those feelings out of the way."

Twilight looked confused. Sunset just brushed her fingers across her cheek. "A week after the Friendship Games. You'd stare at me out of the blue and when I'd catch you, you'd look away quickly. After about a month of that, you wanted to study with me out of the blue. You're horrible at hiding your feelings, and I am too."

Twilight kissed Sunset's check and layed down on the bed next to her. "Timber never gave a crap about me anyways. I'm pretty sure he only took me out on 1 date in less than 5 months."

Sunset whistled. "You shoulda dumped his ass a long time ago."

Twilight gave a small smile. "So, do you wanna be my girlfriend?"

The fire headed girl nodded and intertwined her fingers with Twilight's. With the free hand, she was able to use her geoude without moving the already asleep girl to shut the door and turned off the lights.

Rainbow and the other girls were outside, watching in from the one way glass. As soon as the lights went off and the room went dark, they all walked out the hospital, and Pinkie jumped up and down.

"THEY GOT TOGETHER!!!" She yelled, grabbing the attention of a few bystanders.

Rainbow smirked and put a hand out towards Applejack who passed her $100.

Rarity and the others looked at them in confusion.

"Me an' Dash made a bet on those two getting together." AJ remarked.

"Yeah!" Rainbow scoffed. "I won!"

Rarity was still confused. "How do you even know about the compatibility of those two, anyways?" she asked.

"We ran them two times though one of those online relationship thingies. The first results were Rainbow's and the second was mine. Ah got a low persentage, something like 24% and Rainbow here got 98.9%."

Pinkie laughed. "I bet they'll be all defensive and stuff and act like they're not dating when they're around us!"

Fluttershy, who had not been interacting with the girls during this whole conversation, placed a hand on Pinkie's shoulder. "We should respect their privacy nonetheless. They'll tell us when they want to."

Everybody in the group agreed and after some more talking, decided to head home. Sunset's life may be chanced forever, but at least she has the opportunity to be loved once more.

Even if that person is her best friends counterpart who is also from another world and is a pony princess.
