> Friends across worlds > by Hydreigon_Omega > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue - 9,000 years ago. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- There has been many years of peace after the ancient wars between the contents. Now that there is peace Hydreigon can go back to training. This Hydreigon isn't like most other Hydreigons, because he is known as the voice of life. He has been training to fight incarnates of malice and hate ever sense he was created. "Hydreigon." Palkia said, "Your late again." "Sorry 'bout that." Hydreigon said, "I was having lunch when I-" "EXCUSES!" Palkia roared, "If you don't make it to training on time, You won't be able to fight the battle that Mew foresaw." "Sorry teacher." Hydreigon held his head low in defeat. "IF YOU JUST KEPT COMING TO TRAINING YOU WOULDN'T BE NEARLY 1,000 YEARS BEHIND ON TRAINING." Palkia said as he started getting really angry. Hydreigon seemed as if he was going to cry. So he decided to use what he has learned and used unfinished teleportation magic to disappeared off to another place. One very far away from here. "PALKIA!" Mew shouted, "He is your student. You can't just shout at him, You are supposed to help him..." Mew kept lecturing Palkia for what felt like nearly 100 years on how he should be giving Hydreigon positive reinforcement, and not braking him down. "MOM!" Palkia snapped back "I know what I am doing. I'm not a child anymore." "Palkia." Arceus said, "Don't talk back to your mother. Go to your room." Meanwhile in Equestria. A young pair of Alicorns, Celestia and Luna, where sitting at the head of a table filled with many Nobles and Higher-ups. The two alicorns were almost about to fall asleep from all the talk about politics and taxes. When they were about to close their eyes there was a big crash. The next moment Hydeigon was lying on a table that was snapped in two. "Ow." Hydreigon said trying to get himself up,"ow-ow-ow-ow-ow," Hydreigon sighed, "Great I think I broke my back." He said to no one in particular. When he looked around, he saw that he landed in the middle of a really long table. Surrounded with Ponyta like creature sitting all along the sides. Some had wings like bird while most had horns. All of them were paralyzed with fright from the dragons intimating from. Especially the two that had both wings and a horn. "You do know you interrupted a session of royal court." The darker looking one said finally getting the courage to talk to the intimidating dragon. "I am very sorry about that," Hydreigon said, "I would get up, but I hurt my self very badly." "Well I think it would be best to end this court session early today." Her white counterpart said, "I will see if I can get the medic to try and heal you." "Thank you." Hydreigon said as he passed out from the immense pain he was in. The next morning, Hydreigon woke up in a bed. One that was quite small for him. He noticed that he was in a smaller room, but there was much of a change in scenery. The walls were still a paint less grey. There were soon three knocks on the door. "Come in" Hydreigon said, as the two young winged and horned ponyta "I am glad to see that your awake," the white one said, "The doctor said that you had a minor fracture, but with his healing magic it should be healed." "By the way I have asked for your name." Hydreigon said, "It was quite rude of me to interrupt your court session, even if it wasn't on purpose. "I am Princess Celestia." She said, "And this is my sister Princess Luna." Princess luna let out a small bow in curticy. "We are the ones who raise the sun and moon here." Luna said raising up from her bow. "Princesses of the sun and moon." Hydreigon said, "My name is Hydreigon, I am the voice of life." "The Voice of life?" Luna inquired. "The Voice of life is the voice of all nature." Hydreigon said, "Every last mountain, river, tree, and blade of grass in this world." "So you are basically Nature incarnate?" Celestia asked. "I guess you could say that." Hydreigon said. "But we would thought that the nature Incarnate would be..." Celestia said trying not to offend the dragon, "Friendly looking." "I mainly took upon this form for combat," Hydreigon said, "there are prophecies about dark powers, and I need to be ready in case we find them." "Dark powers?? Prophecies??" Luna asked. "Four major ones, we are all training to try and prevent those prophecies from coming true." Hydreigon said, "there were four major prophecies, The first was the destruction of the world by meteorite. In the second prophecy, Time stopped and everything was frozen. Third prophecy stated that the world would be wiped from existance. The forth and most disturbing was, Every living thing was turned to stone by dark magic." Celestia's and Luna's mouths drop opened after hearing the prophecies about doom from his world. "We need to find a way to get you back home." Celestia said, "If you don't go home then-" Celestia was cut off by Hydreigon. "You need to calm down," Hydreigon said, "The prophecies aren't going to happen for at least another thousand years, and besides I needed a break from my training anyways." This made Celestia calm down, before having a inquisitive look. "wait," Celesita asked, "How old are you?" Before Luna could snap back at her sister for such a rude question, Hydreigon answered. "one thousand, two hundred twenty... six I believe," Celestia's and Luna's Mouth dropped open again. "Your older than me." Celestia said under her breath, "How in the entirety of Equestria are you 18 years older than me." "To another topic," Hydreigon said, "Since I am staying here for the foreseeable future. I don't think any of the pony would give me a job, or something to do for money, because of my intimidating appearance. I am pretty sure you wouldn't want of of my Poké." He said pulling some spare change from under one of his wings to show the princesses. So the royal sisters took pity on him and started brainstorming ideas to get him a job. The only requirement was that he had to stay near or in the castle so they could keep an eye on him. "Royal Chef?" Luna suggested. Hydreigon though about it for a moment. "I would probably eat the food before anyone else would. So that isn't a really good choice." "Perhaps, Royal guard?" Celestia offered, "Your intimidating factor would do a great job with helping in it." "That would be good," Hydreigon said, "But I don't think I could bring myself to hurt any of your ponies, even in training." Several Ideas went by, magic instructor, and flight teacher, were just two of them. "You aren't that skilled in magic, nor do you have hooves, your not going to be giving massages." "He could be a..." Luna said before cutting herself off, "No we already listed military major, and weapon trainer." "Unless..." Celestia got an idea, "A royal advisor." Hydreigon titled his head at the thought. "What...?" Hydreigon said blinking a few times,"I don't think that I am the best for the job." "That is quite the good Idea sister," Luna stated, "Having an outside force should help us finish our disputes quite quickly." "So you want me to..." Hydreigon startle to speak, "Settle your disputes before they get too out of hand. Or in your terminology, out of hoof." "yes," Celestia said, "But you will be giving us advice on personal matter if it calls for it. Especially if it is 'blackmail-able' if nobles found out. And because you are from another world, blackmailing would only be a short term problem because you may end up going back to your home." After hearing Celestia reasoning, "Okay then," Hydreigon said, "Then I accept the job." Only a few day after Hydreigon obtained his status for royal advisor. A battle, know as the third minute war broke out. It was a battle between siblings, then end result was a draw. The effect the 'war' had was, 3 sprained hooves, at least 2 cracks in each of the princesses necklaces, a sprained wing, and 2 bruised alicorn horns, not to mention the several thousand bits of property damage. "where do I begin, just where." Hydreigon started after hearing both sides of the story. "She started it." Celestia complained. "No you did." Luna snapped back "Oh yeah," Celestia replied sacastically, "Just like how I started the eclipse that made everypony think the world was ending." "quite down." Hydreigon said trying to calm down the princess so he could voice his opinion, but the sisters kept arguing over him. "YOU WERE THE ONE WHO DIDN'T PUT THE SUN DOWN ON THAT DAY." Luna snapped back, "And besides, you were the one that got mad over being called a bunny." "Why you..." Celestia said with a fury that went unknown for generation, "I AM GOING TO SHOVE MY HORN RIGHT UP YOUR-" "ENOUGH!" Hydreigon roar using his attack which was hyper voice. The sound of the attack surpassed the royal Canterlot voice, and knock the sisters right off their hooves. If you were standing outside the castle, you would have still heard what Hydreigon said clearly. "Okay now that you've calmed down," Hydreigon said as he picked up the two sister, "I finally come to a conclusion." The sisters sat up ready to hear what He was about to say, even though their ears were still ringing. "Both of you are not just in the wrong, Hydreigon said, "But are also very brash and hot headed." "Being compared to a bunny is by far one of the funniest insults I've heard, It shouldn't give you the privilege to flip over a table that can hold over 36 ponies." Hydreigon said as he turned to Luna, "As for you Luna, this is not entirely your fault, but it still is. You could have prevented this massive conflict if you just said two words, 'I'm sorry,' and you could have stopped most the damage if not prevented it." He continued as he turned back to Celestia, "Back to Celestia, is there any chance that your sister didn't intend for it to be an insult, but instead as a complement?" Her face went from a combination of anger and remorse to deep thought as she pondered if that really was the case. She lifted her gazed to meet her sister's, "I'm sorry Lulu, I should have acted better than I did." "Its my fault," Luna said, "I should have apologized when I had the chance to." Hydreigon was pleased to hear that the sister were starting to act better and end the fighting. Until... *Grumble* Someone was surprisingly hungry judging by that stomach growl. "That was... me" Hydreigon said embarrassed from what his stomach just said. "Its about lunch time anyways." Luna said, "race ya," Luna told Celestia as they took off. "Your on." Celestia said starting to catch up. Hydreigon let out a sigh and his body started to go transparent and disappear. Only to reappear moments later in front of the dining hall. "Ha I win." Celestia said with pride. "actually," Hydreigon said, "I won." Celestia and Luna stood there trying to figure out how he managed to get there before they did. "How?" Celestia asked, "I know you didn't use magic, because I would've felt it." "I would show you," Hydreigon said, "But I don't want to reveal all my tricks yet."Hydreigon had a smug look of victory on his face. "Anyways," Luna said, "Lets eat." "I like your thinking," Hydreigon commented. One hundred years have passed Since Hydreigons arrival in Equestria. He has saw all most 2 whole generations of ponies come and go. He had a nice time which he spent with one he was happy to call his friends, Celestia, and Luna. But one day a massive portal opened in front of the castle. What came out of the portal was one Hydreigon wished he didn't have to see again, or at least yet. and out step Palkia. "HYDREIGON!" Palkia roar "WHERE ARE YOU!" "What do you want Palkia?" Hydreigon said, with the royal sister standing at his side. "You have been showing up to your training for about 100 years now." Palkia said, "I already go three lecture from Mother, and it would be in both of our best interests if you returned home." "And what if I don't" Hydreigon said, "That isn't an option," Palkia said, "I will do anything I can to bring yo home. Even If I have to drag your unconscious corpse home, your coming home." The royal sister were shocked at what Palkia said, but Hydreigon warned them that he is the one who controls space and matter, so it would be in their best intrst not to anger him. Then Hydreigon had an Idea, "Fine I'll go home, but you have to promise me 2, wait no, 3 things." "Which they are?" Palkia asked. "First is to let me say goodbye to my friends. Second one is to let Celestia, Luna, and I have a spell that will allow us to send letter to eachother," Hydreigon said and Palkia was agreeing with him so far. "And third, Keep our languages synchronized." "Alright then, He are the spells" Palkia said and three small bright purple light shone from his fingers and hit the three friends in the head giving them knowledge of the spell. "Just come through the portal when your done." Hydreigon flew down to Celestia and Luna, starting to tear up. "I don't want to go," He said, "But I have to." "Hydreigon, please don't cry." Celestia said, "We will still be friends, right Luna?" "Yes." Luna said, "Best of friends, for many moons to come." "Thank you" Hydreigon said as he hugged his closest friends and started to bawl his eyes out. > Chapter 1 - New Ponies and Old friends > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has been several months sense dark Matter's Defeat Hydreigon thought, I haven't had this much free time in over 9,000 years, After seeing his friends in Lively Town, the way they were acting made him remember something, or in this case some-ponies. And then, an Idea struck him. Has it really been that many years sense the last time I saw them? Hydreigon thought, Maybe I should send a note first so they know that I am coming their way. So Hydreigon took a quill in his right hand mouth and started to write in equestrian, which he wasn't the best. As as you can expect not practicing another language for several thousands of years, he made many spelling mistakes, but he managed to fix most of them before sending the final one. Dear Celestia and Luna I regret that I haven't written to you two for a few years, because we never the prophecies would take place withing 40 years of each other. But I am making this letter as short as possible because I forgot how to properly write in equestrian. Sense the dark powers from prophecy heave been defeated, I was thinking about visiting the two of you and get back together. Sincerely, your EX-Royal advisor Hydreigon His eyes changed from a red to gold and the letter disappeared into green flames. A few days later he managed to get a reply back from the royal sisters. To my our friend Hydreigon We would love for you to visit us. But there have been a few complications, Our Niece Cadence just got married, and there was an impostor Cadence who almost got away with marrying the bridegroom, Shining armor. And we fear that they may be a little paranoid after that happened.Though they usually are a nice couple, they will be frightened by your intimidating appearance. On a side note, If you want, we could re-employ you as our royal advisor. From HRHs Princess Celestia and Luna P.S. A small reminder that we got a new castle from the last time you visited, So we've list the new coordinates for the new castle. E377B1 So Hydreigon made sure use these coordinates to go to the right place. He packed his supplies: A prism looplet, 3 perfect apples, 10 max elixirs, 10 Oran berries, 5 reviver seeds (just in case), 2 reusable TMs (Hyper voice and Tri-attack), and 10 heal seeds. He decided to try and use that same spell which accidentally sent him to Equestria 9,000 years ago.. And in the blink of an eye he vanished. A moment later he heard a big crash, it was him. "9,000 years" Hydreigon said as the dust began to settle,"9,000 years and I still need to fix that spell." After a few moments noticed a large crowd of ponies gathering around. "A dragon!" a purple unicorn exclaimed, "I have to write to Princess Celestia about this. Spike start writting a letter." Then her little dragon friend started to get out a blank letter. “And I presume you are Twilight Sparkle?” Hydreigon said. “How did you know my name?” Twilight asked “‘Tia wrote to me when you made it into magical kindergarten.” Hydreigon said, ”She, and her sister, are great friends of mine. And in her letter, I could tell that she was excited to have such a gifted unicorn to teach.” Twilight’s mouth hung open. “Spike, forget the letter” Twilight said. ”Could you pass me my bag?” Hydreigon asked, ”It has some of my stuff in it.” as he he’s gestures to the bag that he dropped. ”sure” Twilight said as she levitated the bag over to him. ”Thank you” Hydreigon said as he took the bag in his right hand mouth. With his other mouth he pulled out an oran berry and ate it.”That’s better,” He said as he got off his back and started to fly off the ground."Which way is the castle, I apparently teleported to the wrong location." "The castle should be somewhere over that direction." Twilight said gesturing towards the mountain. "Thank You," Hydreigon said,"Well it was nice to meet you Twilight, but I might as well get going. Good bye." He said as he took flight and started his way towards the castle. He had been flying for about half an hour, until he notice two pegasi, flying together. The two of them together seemed that they were enjoying conversation. The one on his left was a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane, and the one on the right was a yellow pegasus with a pink colored mane. "Excuse me," Hydreigon said startling them, "Could you tell me which way the castle is. I am horrible with directions." "EEP!" the yellow mare exclaimed, "A dragon." she said as she hid behind the cyan pegasus. Hydreigon could sense the fear in them, he hated being feared for his intimating form, but if he changed it to much he was scared that his friends may not recognize him. "Please don't be scared of me," Hydreigon said, "I am visiting some friends at the castle and I think I lost my way there." "How do I know your not going to eat the princesses." the cyan pegasus said with anger, "As far as I know, you could be lying about having friends at the castle." "Look, I am not lying I just what to know-" Hydreigon was cut off by a punch to his stomach. He looked down to see the cyan pegasus, with her hoof still in his stomach. There was remorse in his eyes when he opened his mouth to speak, "I'm sorry about this. Dark pulse." A blast of dark energy came from his left mouth as he blasted away the pegasus, knocking her out instantly. She was falling down to the ground, Hydreigon purposefully only used about 10% of it's power not to harm her to badly. When he noticed that she wasn't waking up, Hydreigon started to fly down after her, and if you got close enough you could hear him swearing in ancient equestrian under his voice. It was a race against gravity, every second the two of them going closer and closer to the ground. Hydreigon knew he wouldn't be able to catch her in time. But he still had one last trick "Protect" Hydreigon command as a bubble-like barrier surrounded the cyan pegasus, catching her mere inches off the ground. "Thank Arceus," Hydreigon said, "That was too close." "What in tarnation" an orange earth pony said, "is rainbow alright?" "I hope so." Hydreigon said lowering the barrier, "But, I am running late to meet some friends of mine. See you later." He said as he took off. "what was that all about." She said "I am not sure" The yellow pegasus said. Meanwhile at the castle, Celestia was sitting on her throne. She glanced over at her clock, it was about 6:30 the sun needed to be set soon. For some reason the amount of nobles and officials that wanted her presence was much more exhausting than she thought. She nearly fell to sleep while listening to her nephew, Blueblood, talk about the taxes and how they should be lowered for the nobles and heightened for every-pony else. Until... *Crash* Apparently Hydreigon got distracted while bird watching and flew right into a storm cloud which blasted him down into Celestia's throne room. "AHHH A DRAGON!!" Blueblood said firing a magic bolt at Hydreigon "Protect!" Hydreigon command as a barrier surrounded him and absorbed the bolt of magic. After lowering the barrier, "Oh hello Celestia," Hydreigon said happily,"It is nice to see you again." "Hello Hydreigon," Celestia said wide eyed in surprise, "I wasn't expecting you to be here so soon." "How in tartarus do you two know each other." Blueblood demanded. "Watch your tongue Blueblood," Celestia snapped, "He is an old friend of mine, and my sister." You could see Blueblood started to cower in fear, He had never seen Celestia so angry before. "I'm sorry about that Blueblood. I just don't want you to make a bad impression on my friend." "I am Hydreigon," he said with a bow, "Celestia has told me about you before," "What did she tell you about me." Blueblood asked impatiently, Celestia got a slight bit worried, but kept her composure none the less. "That you have a big heart and you are one of her smartest nobles." Hydreigon lied, and he sense an internal sigh of relief from celestia. "I KNEW IT" Blueblood said as he pranced his way home. He a smile the went from ear to ear, at least by human's standards. It would look quite odd for a pony. "I know honesty is an element of harmony," Celestia said, "But it is better if he didn't know the truth about I wrote about him." "I am aware," Hydreigon said, "Where is Luna? I haven't seen her ye-... Oh there she is." "Hydreigon." Luna yelled as she lunged for the dragon. Which subsequently knocked him over when Luna started to hug him. "My my, how you two have grown." Hydreigon said he moved Luna off him, "Last time we met, you didn't have such magical looking mains." "Princess?" A gaurd pony said, "is everything alr-" He answered his own question internally, when he saw the princesses in deep conversation with the dragon. From his perspective, it seemed as if they had been old friends that reunited after a long time. And they were. Celestia face darkened when she realized something."The sun was supposed to be set 5 minutes ago." Celestia's horn lit up as all three of them were teleported to the balcony. Then Celestia started lowering the sun to make sure nothing went wrong when doing so. "No matter how many times you've shown me you could do that in the past." Hydreigon said, "I couldn't believe it, and I still can't believe it." "Now one last thing I would like to ask before I send you to your new room," Celestia said, "Would you like to resume your title as our royal advisor." "I don't see why not" Hydreigon said as his stomach started to growl, "Looks like I'm hungry. Care for an apple?" Hydreigon said as he pulled out a melon of an apple out of his bag. "Sure, Dinner was only about 2 hours ago," Luna said taking the massive apple in her magic aura, "It was smaller than normal, so we're still a bit hungry." Hour pasted after their not-so-little picnic, Hydreigon was shown to his new room. Where had a bed, Later that night, somewhere in the dream realm. Luna when she noticed a door, it didn't look like the others. In fact it was decorated with lots and lots of flowers and plant life. Where the cutie-mark would've been was the Rainbows of Hope, a sight that was so mythical that it was said to give hope to even the most depressed of creatures. When Luna enter the door, she was greeted with a view that no creature from Equestria had seen before. The Rainbows of hope. Hydreigon sat at the edge of a large hill, looking at the view. "Hello Hydreigon," Luna said scaring the dragon. "How are you in my dream?" Hydreigon said catching himself before he fell off the edge. "Dream walking." Luna said. "I think I understand," Hydreigon said going to sitting back down where he was sitting, "Back home we have ones who also have that power. Care to join me watching the view?" "I believe I have time to spare." Luna said as she sat down beside Hydreigon. In the morning, Celestia was sitting on her throne working on some papers. When a royal guard opened the doors and ran towards Celestia. "News from northern equestria," The pony said, "Your highness." "Yes?" Celestia inquired "I am simply to tell you," He said, "That IT returned." Celestia made a small gasp. "Go and find Princess Cadence, and Shining Armor." Celestia told her guards, "Yes, your highness." The guard said. Celestia wrote a letter to Twilight Sparkle. "Hydreigon." Celestia whispered, "Come here please." Hydreigon started to appear out of thin air, "Yes?" Hydreigon asked, "Did you need something?" "He, has returned." Celestia said. Hydreigon face transformed from his normally happy self, to one of a serious tone. > Chapter 2 - Entry to the Snow Continent > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight stood before both the solar and lunar diarchs as they explained her mission. They explained everything from the smallest detail of the crystal empire to the vast power of Sombra’s magic. The history of the crystal empire, and the rise and fall of the evil king Sombra. They armed her with every bit of knowledge they had at their disposal, but still they feared it wouldn't be enough. "Twilight," Celestia said, "I am also sending Hydreigon to watch over you and your friends to make sure nothing bad happens." Hydreigon let out a slight nod of confirmation. "I can not let anything bad happen," Hydreigon said, "I personally think that it'll be best if you introduce your friends to me, I do believe I already met a few on my way here." "Hydreigon will catch up with you at the train station, but now there is no time to waste now." Celestia said, closing the door on twilight. "There are still a few things we need to talk about." Twilight then left the castle."I should warn you about King Sombra's mind control." "Don't worry," Hydreigon said, "I am the Voice of Life, I should have a high resistance, or immunity to it." "Even so," Luna said, "I want you to be safe." "I understand, but don't worry to much...Sunbutt" Hydreigon said adding his old friends nickname. Celestia face flushed red with embarrassment. "I thought you said you would stop calling me that." Celestia said with her face still a bright pink, "Fluffy" Now it was Hydreigon's turn to go read in the face. Well it was closer to a bright purple because of his color scheme. "I thought you forgot that." Hydreigon said embarrassed, remembering the time when Luna misfire a main growing spell and it hit him. "Is this really the time to be joking?" Luna asked being far more serious than either of those two. "Yeah, yeah, your right." Hydreigon said, ”Well, I might as well get going, I got a train to catch” Soon after, he vanished. Only to reappear when he remember he forgot his bag with his equipment. On the way to the train station, Twilight and her friends had things packed for a long trip. Spike was stuck with luggage duty and had to carry more than his own weight in clothes and other supplies. Twilight began explaining the situation to her friends, about King Sombra, some of the history of the Cyrstal Empire, and about Hydreigon. Even though she mentioned him by name, only a few of her friends who she was talking about. "So thats the name of that dragon bucker." Rainbow dash said, "I'm gonna have my revenge for what he did." "I'm sorry for what I did." "What..?" Rainbowdash turned around only to be greeted with three menacing heads. "I am apologizing for what I did the other day." Rainbow dash's mouth swung open in confusion from a combination of surprise and fear. The main head had a sheepish smile which Rainbow dash seemed to be terrified of, or at least that is what Hydreigon thought. It amazed him how ponies could say that they'll do a thing only not to do it when the moment arrived. "Ya know, knocking you out and almost letting you plummet to your death." "Saying your sorry isn't enough!" Rainbow dash tried to land another gut punch on Hydreigon, but this time he was prepared for her attack. "Protect" Hydreigon commanded as rainbow dash's punch bounce off a translucent barrier, "are we seriously doing this again, I won the first time, maybe this time I'll decide to eat you as a victory snack." He positioned his heads in just the right way so that his red eyes seemed to almost glow from shadows. Seeing how Rainbow dash in now in quite a state of fear, he decide to reveal his secret. "Kidding! I really had you going didn't I?" "Hahahaha," Pinkie rolled over laughing, "That was a good one you fluffy dragon." "All aboard!" The train conductor yelled "That's our queue," Hydreigon said, as he began shoving the main six onto the train in front of him, "Let's go, we don't want to be to late now do we?" A few hours passed as the group of 6 ponies and 2 dragons rode on the train. Hydreigon managed to engage in some friendly conversations, but most of the ponies were to scared of his intimidating form, aside from the pink one, she loved making jokes with him. Exiting the train, they all were greeted with a massive snow storm surrounding them. "Twilight?" A voice yelled through the storm "Shining Armor," Twilight yelled as she ran to give her brother a hug, "I've missed you my big brother." "And I've missed you to Twily," Shining armor said, "But I hat to cut our reunion short, we have to leave before he gets here." "Who?" "Sombra," Shining armor said before he turned to face the three headed dragon, "and you must be Hydreigon, the princesses told me about you. It is a pleasure to meet you." Shining armor extended a hoof as a gesture of good intent. "No, the pleasures all mine," he replied using his smaller heads to give him a hoofshake, "They've also told me much about you and your wife." "I see," Shining armor said, "No that we finished our meet in greet, we have to start heading to the empire, we don't have much time to waste." "Right" they all said to varying degrees of volume As they headed to the Crystal empire, the snow storm only seemed to grow thicker with each step. Poor little spike was stuck carrying his own weight in warm clothing that never got worn. Hydreigon offered to help take off a few of the bags of luggage, but spike politely declined. He said something about his dragon's code, but Hydreigon had no clue what he was talking about. So he just shrugged it off, knowing that the dragon's here are much different As the group of 7 ponies and 2 dragons reached about the half way point, a large black cloud could be seen forming in the distance away from the empire. When Hydreigon pointed it out to the captain, his eyes widened in terror. Shining armor knew who was creating that storm, but what he didn't know was what would happen if you were caught in it and he did not want to find out. "Everyone to the Empire, Now!" Shining armor barked making sure everyone knew the urgency of their situation Everyone suddenly picked up their pace and when from a cautious walking to a intense running. After running what felt like a long distance, Hydreigon noticed that someone was missing, he looked back and saw Spike tangled up in scarves and the weight of the briefcase still on his back as he tried to fix his situation himself. Hydreigon couldn’t let his fellow dragon get hurt, so he rushed over there and threw Spike back over with the rest of the group. The small dragon landed on Shining armor’s head causing him to tumble, luckily he managed to regain his composure, as he picked up spike and placed him on his back so he could run easier. When Hydreigon turned around the storm was quickly approaching, if he tried to fly back to the rest of the group he'd still end up caught in it. But something was odd about this storm, he felt life force from within it. The life force was not the same kind as a helpless victim that caught in it, but rather a menacing force of darkness, much like the two evil entities he has encountered before, Bittercold and Dark Matter. Whatever was in there was something he could not let go without finding a way to at least subdue it. "Hydreigon! What are you doing?" Shining armor yelled, "If you stay there you'll be caught in King Sombra's magic." "Keep running!" He replied, "I'll try and hold him off for as long as I can." Hydreigon equipped the Prism Looplet "You can't fight him alone!" Shining armor said as he ran towards the three headed dragon. ""Darkpulse" Hydreigon launched his attack at the snow behind him, causing a massive wall of snow to fall from the sky, "Don't worry about me. Just Go! Get your sister and her friends to safety!" Shining armor despised not being able to help his ally, but he knew that he shouldn't. Whatever Hydreigon was planning was meant to buy time so the others could get to safety. If he was going to sacrifice himself, Shining Armor would not let it be in vain. The only thing Shining armor could do would be to do as he commanded and get his sister to the empire, then she will be able to find a way to defeat Sombra and bring peace to the empire. “How foolish of you, sacrificing yourself just so you could delay me.” A voice from within the storm said, “Don’t worry foolish beast, I’ll make sure to make quick work of you.” “I’m not scared of you in the slightest,” Hydreigon replied, “I made a promise to protect these ponies. Let’s Go! Outrage!” Launching himself forwards, Hydreigon began wildly attacking inside the pitch black storm hoping to find the source of what was causing this entire storm. Though the prism looplet prevented Outrage's recoil from happening, his vision was completely blacked out by the smoky cloud and the best he could do is flail around when he tried to attack. He retreated out of the storm to prepare for his next strike, if he couldn’t damage it with physical moves, then maybe he should change up his tactics. “Take this! Tri-Attack!” Three blasts of energy shot out from within the mouths of each of his heads. The shadowy storm storm contorted itself to dodge the powerful oncoming attack. Slowly the great storm cloud slowly reshaped itself into the head of a giant unicorn, as it began staring down the three headed dragon with menacing eyes. "Tell me beast, who are you." The storm said, "I can tell you are not a normal dragon." “I am the voice of life Hydreigon. I am the friend and ally of the royal sister Celestia and Luna.” “Hydreigon, a fitting name, a beast that has the body of a hydra and the heads of a dragon.” He replied, “I am the unicorn king Sombra. Severe these ties with your ‘so-called’ friends, and I will show you a power far beyond your imagination.” Hydreigon sat there stunned at the revelation of that the storm he was fighting was the same pony, if not his foreign vessel, that Celestia warned him against. From Sombra perspective, he knew that any dragon, no matter how foreign, would always fall for the allure of more power. Hydreigon put on his best thinking face, his decision was already made before Sombra had asked the question, all had to do was stall for time. He moved the eyes on one of his side heads to see small specs far in the distance, now he knew that they were all safe now. “How about I decline your offer?” “Then you shall- OW!” Sombra was taken by surprise by Hydreigon‘s dark pulse attack. Hydreigon knew that the physical state Sombra was in, he’d have no chance at defeating him unless he had an attack like swift. So instead of fighting head on, he booked it right out of there. “Get Back Here!” “Uh... No.” Hydreigon flew as fast as he could towards the sparkling dome in the distance. The heavy snow only impaired his vision slightly, but he had lived long enough to know how to fly in such horrible condition. Sombra slowly started gaining on him, but Hydreigon refused to be taken down. Nearing the dome, he pushed his limits and flew just a little bit faster as he past through the dome with ease causing him to take a hard tumble. Though he couldn’t see Sombra’s face, Hydreigon knew he was scowling at him. “Hydreigon!” Shining armor yelled, “Are you all right?” “Yeah, I am fine.” He said as he stood up, “But you don’t need to worry about me, we must go to your wife and help her with restoring the empire.”
