The talk
Boredom everyone's ultimate nemesis from all walks of life. Everyone from everywhere in the universe has felt its power in their lives and today was no such different for Equestrias six heroes. They were all sitting around enjoying the peace, but there the air in the room screamed 'I WANNA ANYTHING'. That's when Twilight Sparkle slammed her hands on the table waking her friends up from their bored trance.
"I got it!" She proclaimed with a smile on her face. Her friend's were wondering what idea Twilight came up with. Hopefully it wasn't too outrageous. "Let's have a discussion! I always wondered what your different opinions are on this topic" Twilight proclaimed excitingly.
"Okay. What is the topic?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
"Love! More like 'love at sight'. Do any of you believe in it? I'm really interested to hear your opinion on it, Rarity" Twilight said with the same interested goofy smile on her face. Everyone else turned to Rarity who was kinda surprised by the fact she was picked first. After getting over that Rarity took the time to think of an answer.
"Well.. Let's see.. Falling in love with someone the time you see them. I do believe it can happen. The question is whatever or not your feelings are valid. For obvious reasons of course." Things went silent for a moment. Everyone thought about Rarity's answer and of course Someone had a question.
"I'm not sure what you mean by "valid feelings", Rarity" Applejack spoke.
"What I mean by that is: are your sudden feelings of love for this person genuine? Or is it just a quick one-off thing? Know what I mean?" Rarity asked looking around at her friends for their consensus. Applejack nodded along at least.
"I get what you mean, Rarity and it is a good point. Obviously I have the complete opposite opinion. Falling in love with someone the first time you see their face is a bad idea that doesn't work in my eyes" Rainbow dash exclaimed while laying back into her chair.
"Ohhh! Keep going, Rainbow. I wanna hear this!" Twilight spoke. Rainbow sighed.
"Okay, the reason why that idea doesn't work for me is because you can't fall in love with someone without talking with them first. For example, you go on that first date, come home, think about it and that love you felt is gone completely. I guess that plays off of Rarity's "validating your feelings" question too." Rainbow finished.
"Pinkie, what's your opinion on the matter?" Twilight question. Pinkie smiled and drew a heart in front of her with her hands.
"I believe the heart knows what it wants and that you shouldn't ignore those feelings. Look at it this way; how often do you fall in love with someone at first sight? It's an extremely rare feeling. For example, when was the last time you fell in love with someone besides Spike, Twilight? Not romantically of course."
Twilight slightly blushed at the swift towards her, but the Princess kept her composer "You're right, Pinkie. I haven't had that feeling since Spike. I love him with all my heart and the same is true for everyone here. But if we're talking romantically I'm split between Rarity and Rainbow. What about you, Applejack?" Applejack threw her hands up and shook her head.
"I'm going to be completely honest with all of you girls and say I have no idea. Whatever I could potentially say wouldn't make sense to me either which way anyway. However, I do have a question for you, Pinkie. How often do you think a person can fall in love at first sight? And I mean genuine love not fake or quick flings" Applejack stressed.
Pinkie put hand to chin "... Only once…" Everyone had the same reaction of "REALLLY NOW" on their face. The most expressed were Fluttershy and Rarity. They looked at each other and since hadn't spoken yet Rarity let Fluttershy take it.
"Wow, Pinkie I didn't think you would say once. Twice, maybe even three times, but once! That's shocking coming from you in my opinion" Fluttershy spoke.
"It's just how I feel, Fluttershy. Why? Do you think that feeling can come more often?" Pinkie questioned backed with an interested expression. Fluttershy closed her eyes and thought about her answer.
"Well, yes I do. I can't put an exact number on it. Like you said the "heart knows what it wants". If that feeling comes over again I also think it should not be ignored even if years later. That's just me though" Fluttershy spoke respectfully.
"But don't you guys think there's such a thing as being burned by that feeling?" Rainbow Dash asked quickly.
"Dear Celestia yes!" Rarity quickly replied. When the attention got turned back to her she felt embarrassed.
"Do tell, Rarity. Where is this coming from hmmm??" Applejack grilled with a devilish grin on her face. Rarity started to rub the back of her head and avoided all eye contact.
"Weeellllll let's just say drama gets around really quickly. Obviously I can't spill anything, spa secrets and all." Her friends shrugged and went along with her answer. A few moments of silence came in. Then all six friends started giggling in unison.
"Oh wait! I got an idea. Twilight, you should find a way to find this question into a book of some kind. You could call it… Well I don't actually have a title yet, but you totally should do it." Applejack stated.
"Do you think that will sell?" Rainbow Dash asked with a raised eyebrow. Applejack nodded positively.
"Let's be honest, any of the Princesses could put out any book and it will sell."
"All Twilight would have to do is ask the question and fill it out with quotes from people from all around Equestria. Obviously you need the other three Princesses opinions in there too . I'm actually interested in hearing Luna's thoughts about this honestly" Fluttershy spoke.
"You know what now that we're talking about it. It does sound like a good read. Twilight, I think you should do it" Rarity said. Twilight looked around the table and saw the idea was pretty agreed on.
"This is not how I hoped this conversation would end, But since you girls think I can do it I see no harm in giving it a shot. We need a name though. Pinkie, do you have any?" Twilight asked nicely. Pinkie rubbed her chin again in deep thought.
"What about "Love at first sight: real or not?"" Pinkie spoke.
"I see no problem with it. It gets straight to the point" Applejack stated.
"May have to go back to the lab again with this title thing" Rainbow said chuckling.
"We'll work it out later. Now come on girls we have a book to work on!" Twilight said excitingly while teleporting out of her chair walking out the room. The excitement was shared as her friends followed her.
