The only clothing she was wearing was a tattered blue dress. She and her father had been homeless ever sense her mother died giving birth to her. After that their life spiralled down hill, her father couldn't pay rent for their apartment. He paid all that he had on the cost of his wife's funeral and hospital bills. And he was fired from his job because the company he was working for was shutting down. For four years he's been on the streets with his only daughter, collecting cans, to provide for her. Even if it means fo him to not eat at all. He raid the cloths drop off station so he can get her something to wear. The daughter, is named Lucky Star. And now he is running from a gang who decided to ruin their lives for no reason. He looked behind him as he saw them running after them, armed with handguns and knifes. "Get back here, you hobo! I only want to play with that little girl of yours!" The leader sneered, while his friends laugh. Lucky and her father was sleeping in a cardboard box when they heard them walked up to them. They mocked and ridiculed him until they spotted his daughter. The leader had a hungry look in his eyes and the man, feared for his daughter's safety, scooped her up and made a run for it. Lucky was wokened up and was clinging to her father, wailing in fear. She look back at the scary men, who was still in pursuit. She whimpered as she saw the scary look in their eyes. Her father spotted the train station and took up speed leaving the criminals behind. He jumped the fence and ran to the nearest train. He hoped on the cart and sighed with relief. He sat down on a pile of hay hugging Lucky in comfort. He gazed into her purple eyes who look up at him in fear. He rocked her back and forth trying to calm her down. "It's okay Lucky, they won't find us in hear." His head popped up as he heard voices up ahead. No. It can't be. Lucky look towards the door and cried in fear. "Daddy! The monsters found us!" She buried her face into his shirt whimpering. The man look at his daughter then at the train they were on. He look towards the door as he heard voices up ahead. He narrowed his eyes in determination. He can't let them thugs harm his daughter, not if he can help it. He heard more voices as he heard the conductor hopped on the engine. "Gonna take this load to Canterlot City." He heard him saying to somebody. With no moment to lose he laid his daughter on the hay pile. "I'm gonna need you to be a brave girl, alright?" Lucky look at him in confusement and fear. "Daddy?" "This train is gonna take you to a new safer place. But I'm not going with you." He continued. Lucky's eyes widened in shock. Her father's yellow eyes start to tear up. "I'm sorry that I failed you. I hope that whoever found you will shower you with all the love in the world and will raise you right." And with that he got up to made his way to the door as the train started up. He look back at his daughter one last time with a single tear drop running down his face and hopped off as the train started to move forward. Lucky ran to the door. "Daddy! Don't leave me!" She screamed but the train's horn blurted out her cries. The train moved on leaving the city behind as Lucky continued to scream. She slumped on the hay in defeat knowing that she would never see him again. And unknown to her, to never to see him alive again as the gang showed up and shot him after the train left. She hold her dirty blanket and cried her heart out until she fall into a pitiful sleep. ********* She woke up as the train slowed and finally stopped. She poked her head out of the cart and look back and forth. On one end she spotted a city not to far from the station with a beach next to it. Lucky grabbed her blanket and jumped off the cart, landing on soft grass. She look back and forth. Finding that the coast is clear, she took off towards the city. She ran until she made herself towards the the outskirt of the city. She slowed into a stop to catch her breath. She look up at the sky watching the clouds covered the sun and started to gray. She flinched as a single raindrop landed on her head. Then more followed after, soaking the poor girl after. Needing to find shelter, she ran along the streets until she made herself towards the beach. She paused as she spotted an abandoned beach house up ahead. She ran towards it and discovered that it looks abandoned for along time. She look around until she spotted nobody and made her way up the creaky steps. She opened the the door and stepped inside. She sneezed as the dusty smell of the building. She decided then and there to make this place her new home. She laid her blanket on the floor even it out to make it a place for her to sleep. She look around to find herself in the living room and found an old dusty sofa in one corner. She walked up to it and dust it off. When she was finished she place her blanket on it, deciding to sleep on it instead. She walked up to a window and watched the rain poured down. She decided for know on, the only person she needed to rely on was herself. One year later, It's been a year now since she was alone and survived by stealing food from the people who decided to spend their day on the beach. She only steals when they decided to play in the ocean. She haven't always been successful, however, running away when she saw the family coming back to their spots. She always went to bed hungry when she fail every time. In cold months, she went into the city to find some scraps in the dumpsters. Lucky remembered one night she was at the park and noticed some high school students on the stage, starting a concert. Deciding to watch, she sat down away from them watching three girls walked on the stage with green fog covering them. Then the song got intense and find herself entranced by the girls singing as they suddenly grew wings, ears, and long ponytails. Then another band came on top of a hill. A girl in a white car showed up and turned the car into a giant DJ set. The girls sing, breaking Lucky's entrancement. Then suddenly three large sea monsters came out of the girls' gems and and circle the crowd above. Both bands threw magic back at each other. The monsters screamed knocking the mic from a purple girl's hand. She reached out at a yellow skinned girl. "Sunset Shimmer! We need you!" Sunset took the mic and walk towards the monsters in determination. She took of her jacket and started to sing. The purple girl sing with her, throwing a rainbow at the monsters, making the girls controlling them off balance. Sunset float up as she got ears and longer hair as well. The others float up with her, making a rainbow shot from them. Lucky's eyes widen in shock as the rainbow made a giant winged unicorn. The unicorn blasted the monsters, making them shattered along with the three girl's gems. They started to sing again but the song come out awful. The crowd booed and threw food at them making them run off the stage. Lucky took the time to get up and ran. She ran until she made it to the tree lines. She stopped and panted leaning against a tree. She jumped as she heard some one walk behind her. She turned around and find the same three girls walking towards her. Her heart skipped a beat as the first girl, who had yellow skin and poofy orange hair paused and stared at her. Her magenta eyes widened in surprise. Not a minute to lose, Lucky flee and made a beeline towards the beach. She heard footsteps coming towards her and look back to find the three girls in pursuit. Not again! she thought in dismay. Lucky, not looking where she's going, yelped in pain as she tripped and fell in a bramble bush. She winced as she looked down her legs, noticing the thorns scratched up her legs pretty bad. She tried to get out finding herself stuck. She looked up and noticing the three girls paused. They walk closer to her, the leader's eyes filled with pity. "Sonata. Go to the park shed and find some bush clippers. Aria go with her." They both nodded leaving her alone. The girl walked up to her and knelt down to her level. Lucky whimpered in fear. "Don't worry little one. I'm here to help." > Ch.1: The Three Girls > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucky stared up in terror at the fluffy girl above her. Did she just seen this girl and her friends turn into monsters a couple a minutes ago? What made her want to trust them now? She torn her gaze from the yellow girl to find the purple one and blue one ran back to them. The one the yellow girl called, "Sonata." was carrying some bush clippers. The purple girl was watching her with an uninterested look in her face. "I found the thing you been looking for, Adagio." Sonata said as she hand her the cutters. "Adagio" thanked the blue girl. She walked up towards Lucky and broke a branch from her stuck leg. Lucky, not liking it at all, try to struggle away from her. Adagio paused from the cutting for a bit and study the frightened girl. She beckoned the blue girl forward. "Sonata, would you please calm this little girl down?" Sonata nodded and crouched towards Lucky's level. She grabbed her hand and gave her a friendly look, which confused the white skinned girl. "Don't worry, kid. Were gonna get you out of this bush." She promised. She glanced away with guilt. "It's the least we can do for causing you to end up like this." Sonata look back at the girl in the bush. "So, you got a name?" She asked. Lucky grabbed her arm as she felt the thorns pulled away from her leg. "Lucky." She mumbled under her breath. The purple skinned girl walked up with a curious glint in her eyes. "Lucky, huh? Bet your not so lucky now." Sonata glared at her friend. "Aria! We caused her to be in this situation in the first place. Please have a little sympathy." Aria just scowled. "Why are we helping her in the first place? Shouldn't her parents helped her or maybe her older sibling?" The blue skinned girl was about to snap a remark back, when she paused with her mouth gaped opened. She closed it and tilted her head. "You know? Maybe you had a point." She turn her attention back to Lucky. "So, Lucky. Where are your parents? Did you came here with your older brother or sister?" The seven year old shook her head. "I don't have a sister or a brother." She said quietly. Sonata nodded her head, understanding. "Oh, so you came here with your parents!" Lucky shook her head again. Aria's eyes widened. "So they let you wander out here by yourself?! What kind of parents let you do that? Do they even know what kind of danger a little girl could gotten into this late at night alone?" Lucky cowered away from her shouting as Adagio freed the rest of her from the rest of the brambles. Lucky finally got up and stared to walk away. But her hurt legs won't let her get that far and she collapsed. Adagio and Sonata rushed forward and crouched down to examined her legs. Lucky look at her own legs as well. She whimpered as saw that she was bleeding. "She's bleeding a lot. But her cuts aren't that deep." Adagio said as she gave the legs another look. Her eyes widened as she gave lucky a closer look. "And she's filthy. She looks like she haven't have a bath in years." She look at the others in determination. "Were taking her home with us." Sonata cheered and picked Lucky up. She was suddenly surprised to find that she can easily carry her and almost dropped her in shock. "Adagio! She's as light as a feather!" They walked away leaving a dumbfounded Aria behind. "We're not keeping her are we?" ****** "Of course we're not keeping her." Adagio said as she opened the door to their small house. "She's staying with us until we can find her parents." She turn the lights on and closed the door behind them. Sonata put Lucky on the couch, who found a nearby blanket to cover herself with. Adagio chuckled in amusement as she went towards the bathroom. Aria just grunted and went into her room and shut the door. Lucky stayed under the blanket, just waiting for one of the girls to do something to her. She flinched as she felt a finger tapped her head. "Hey there partner. Why don't you come out and talk?" Said the chirpy voice of Sonata. Lucky hesitated. She saw what these girls did to those people and they finally nice just for her? That is not her way of normal. She peaked out a little from the blankets. She saw the friendly gaze of the blue girl. She can only asked one question. "Why?" Sonata tilted her head. "What was that?" Lucky took a breath and tried again. "Why are you helping me?" The blue girl just shrugged. "Just better nature, I guess." Lucky slowly pulled the blanket from her face, slowly warming up to her. "But I saw you turn into those monsters." Sonata went quite for a moment. "You saw that?" Lucky nodded. Sonata smiled and ruffled her hair making the girl shy away little. "Oh, that? My friends and I were just putting on a magic show. That's all." She said. "But you were singing." Lucky pointed out. Sonata chuckled. "It's a special kind of magic show. The one were we sing. We were having a contest with the other singing magicians, but as you can tell they beat us." "You promised?" Lucky asked Sonata smiled and gave her a hug. "I promised. It's just a magic show, nothing more." She stand up and picked her up. "Now, come on. I think Adagio is finishing up fixing your bath." Sonata said. "What's a bath?" Lucky asked. That question made Sonata paused. "You don't know what a bath is?! When we find your parents, they're gonna have a piece of my mind!" Adagio opened the door to the bathroom. She spotted Sonata and beckoned them in. Lucky's purple eyes grew huge as she gazed at the tub full of water. Sonata sat her down on the toilet and whispered something into Adagio's ear. The fluffy haired girl eyes widened in shock as Sonata walked out and closed the door behind her, leaving the two alone. Adagio walked over to her and helped Lucky take off her torn up dress. Lucky shivered when she found herself bare skinned. Adagio picked her up and gently lowered her into the tub. The seven year old gasped as the warm water touched her skin, but gently relaxed as she find it enjoyable. Adagio grabbed a sponge and sat on the rim as she dipped the sponge in the water and gently scrubbed Lucky off. Adagio was surprised as the dirt and grime rubbed off her skin to revel a pristine white little girl underneath. She thought she was staring at a brown skinned girl at first. "Your surprisingly calm for someone who hasn't had a bath before." Adagio commented. Lucky gave her a confused look. "Why wouldn't I be? It's not hurting me." She winced as Adagio gently scrubbed her cuts on her leg. "And those are cuts. They supposed to hurt when you touch them." Adagio smiled a little. "I suppose that is true." She got Lucky out of the tub and dried her off. She went into the medicine cabinet and got out some disinfecting ointment and some bandages. Sonata opened the door and gave Adagio an old shirt Lucky can where as a night gown which the girl gratefully put on. Adagio motioned her to sat back on the toilet as she dressed her wounds. Lucky winced but didn't put up a fight. She smiled as she moved her legs, feeling a bit better. Adagio held her hand for her to hold and led her out the bathroom. Adagio paused in surprised as three boxes a pizzas lying on the coffee table. "Who bought those?" Adagio asked. Sonata shrugged as she got down some plates. "I've have no clue. Some pizza guy came over and told us it was already paid for and it wasn't me." Aria walked out of her room eyeing the pizzas curiously. "It wasn't me either." Her eyes widened with surprise as she took a look at Lucky. "You mean that brown color wasn't even her skin?" Adagio nodded as she watched Lucky hopped back on the couch. Sonata went over and opened a box a pizza to place a slice on a plate. She offered it to Lucky who took it gratefully. "Who cares. She is now beautiful." ***** Outside their window, a blue eyed stranger watched smiling. She turned and walked away, her red and gold hair glint in the moonlight.
