The Devil does wear Prada
Manehattan, the Runway Plaza.
It's fashion week in Equestria and all the best designers have come to show off their creations, including some up and comers with some potential. Among the designers, is Rarity, the best designer in Ponyville and quite possibly all of Equestria. Normally, everyone's attention would be on her and her latest ensemble during this event. This year, however, their attention was drawn to the two beings accompanying her. One, a tall handsome fellow in a well-tailored suit and pocket square, and the other, a sizzling hot woman with her usual leather dress and don't screw with me, attitude. Of course, I mean Lucifer Morning Star and Mazekin, the Devil and Hell's best torturer.
As they walked through the gawking crowd towards their seats, Rarity decided to make small talk. " Darlings, I'm thrilled that you two were able to come along. Though I thought for sure you'd be bringing Chloe with you Lucifer? Not that your company isn't appreciated Maze."
" Well, as you know, the Princess's, along with Discord, was able to open up the portal that brought us here. At first, we thought we'd be able to get a quick message to my brother by leaving a note in my old penthouse, but when the portal opened, it opened to reveal the Detective's offspring and Ex. Naturally, seeing her mother on the other side made her run to her with Daniel following. After a brief explanation of where they are and who Maze and I are, Chloe and her child decided to spend some much needed catching up. So, to stave off boredom and to give them space, we thought, why not see what our good friend Rarity is up to?" Lucifer then took out his flask while observing some of the models.
" I just tagged along for the models." One such model made his way backstage, a unicorn with a black coat and white mane. " Mmm, he looks delicious." Maze wandered over to the back to get some.
Rarity saw the stallion Maze spotted and tsked at her choice. " Poor Maze. It'll be a shame once she realizes that he's into stallions. I had to find out the hard way."
Lucifer just chuckled their way. " Don't worry darling, in a few minutes, he won't be into anything except demon."
" Heh heh. I'm sure you're right about that." When the two of them got close to their seats, Rarity spotted someone she hadn't expected to see out in the crowd. " Coco! Darling over here." Amongst the crowd, an earth pony mare with a light cream coat, light blue mane, and tail, and a hat with a feather as her cutiemark, found her way over to the odd pair. " Coco, I'd like you to meet a friend of mine."
Coco was a bit enamored by the tall biped with devilishly handsome features. When Lucifer took her hoof, her breath caught in her throat. " It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Pommel, allow me to introduce myself, Lucifer Morningstar." He ended the greeting with a kiss to her hoof and a devilish smile, nearly making the fashion designer faint.
" Hehe, the pleasure is all mine." The poor mare's cheeks became red as tomatoes.
While they were catching up, a male griffon with a black panther bottom and falcon top, brought Coco's attention. " Well, hello sexy."
" That's nice of you to say, but I'm already in a relationship thank you."
" Lucifer, I believe he was referring to Coco."
" Believe it all you want, doesn't change the fact I'm sexy." He gave a wink their way before taking a sip of his flask.
" Anyway!" Coco turned to the griffon with an angry look. " I told you before Calvin. You and I are never going to be a thing."
" Come now Coco, is this because my fashion line is more popular yours?" Coco gave off a huff before looking away from him. " Oh, don't worry my little cutie, you can always work under me, as well as other things." The perverted griffon made his leave, but not before trailing his tail along her body. " See you backstage."
" Well, I'm usually not one to stop flirting, but it seems like that perv likes to see your skin crawl. Who is he anyway?"
" Hmph. That's Calvin Warhol. He's fairly new to the fashion game, but he's already making big waves. He even makes a fashion line that surpassed my own. What makes it worse, is that he uses his success to try and seduce me."
" Oh, I've heard of him, though I didn't know he was such a perv." Rarity led the two over to their seats while trying to forget that unpleasant griffon. While they waited for the show to start, Maze found her way back to them. " Maze. How did it go with the model?"
" Let's just say, he isn't thinking about stallions anymore." Maze took her seat between Lucifer and Coco. She then took notice of Coco. " Have we met before?"
" I don't think so, I would definitely remember meeting such a... sexy... hot... leather-clad individual such as yourself." She then realized she said all of that out loud. " Oh dear Celestia, I'm so sorry."
" Why? It's all true." She then leaned in and stroked under Coco's chin. " I'm Mazekin. Who are you?"
Still a bit flustered, she answered. " Coco pommel, it's a pleasure to meet you."
" Coco? I've been hearing that name from some guy in the back. Talking about how he sees her as a prize to enact all his sexual desires." At this point, Coco was fuming through her nostrils. " I can see you need to tell him off. Here," Maze handed her a card with a three-digit number on it. " that's where he is. Let it all out." She gave her a wink before focusing back on the show.
Coco took the card and stormed to the backstage. Rarity saw her leave and head backstage " Maze darling, do you think that was a good idea?"
" Sure. Either she tells him off and moves on, or they end up boneing in his dressing room. Win, win." Rarity made to retort, but then the whole place was subjected to a shrill scream by the backstage.
" Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!"
Lucifer and Maze found themselves running toward the commotion with Rarity following, while everyone else either stood there or ran away. They heard smaller fits of screaming come from the left and followed only to find Coco in the hall. She had a frieghtened look and kept backing away from the open door in front of her. when the trio went to her, Rarity took hold of her. " Coco, what's wrong? What happened?" She didn't respond, she only pointed over to the open door in front of them.
Needing answers to the situation, Lucifer went in to investigate. " Hello. Come out, come out where ever you are." During his search, he spotted a spray of blood on the mirror. When he looked to the floor, he saw a trail of blood leading to the corner of the room, where he saw Calvin laying dead with a pair of scissors in his neck. " Oh dear. Talk about a show stopper."
