After her parents death, little Adagio thought her life was over, but one day, her life will change for the better.

Adagio Dazzle's childhood has been anything but great. She used to have a happy life as a friendly and energetic girl. But all of this changed after witnessing her mother die from kidney failure and as a result, her father, out of grief, had killed himself by locking himself in his bedroom and shooting himself in the head. After her parent's tragic deaths, Adagio stopped smiling, in fact, she stopped feeling any kind of emotion and only felt...empty and broken. Ever since then, she has spent most of her life on the streets with no money or food and only having the clothes on her back. Adagio thought that her life was now over, but she then has an unexpected surprise when a student from canterlot high named Joseph Smith notices her and feeling pity for her and seeing that she is severely malnourished, he gives her what was supposed to be his lunch. Joseph Osborn then asks her if she wants to stay at his place so she could get out of the cold rain. Adagio reluctantly agrees, at least she'll have decent food and a roof over her head. Little does she know that the longer she stays with him, the more she begins to bond with him, and before she knew it, a friendship started to form between the two.

(Just so no one gets mad at me, This would be about the human version of Adagio, and in this story, she is an only child.)

(Flashback #1: Christmas Day):
(Adagio: age 7)

It was a very snowy Christmas day, and little Adagio Dazzle was sitting next to the Christmas tree with parents, Ruby Swirl and Blue Sapphire, as she was opening her presents. "Oh mom, this ruby necklace looks so beautiful. Thank you, thank you so much, mommy," Adagio said happily.

"I'm glad that you like your Christmas present. That necklace has been in our family for generations, I was just as happy as you were when I got this necklace," Ruby Swirl said as she watched her daughter put the necklace around her neck.

"Hey Adagio, I'm getting ready for a picture, smile for the camera," Blue Sapphire said as he was getting his camera.

"Ok, Daddy," Adagio said as she went up to the center of the tree so the picture could be taken. That Christmas was one of the happiest days of her life. But her happiness would not last long.

(Flashback #2: The hospital):

(Adagio, age 8)

"I'm sorry Mr. Sapphire, but your wife's condition is getting worse and worse every day. I'm afraid that she isn't going to make it. It may be best for you to bring your daughter into her room so Ruby can see her for one last time before she passes," Nurse Redheart informed Blue Sapphire. For some reason, Ruby Swirl had to be taken to the hospital when she started coughing up blood. The doctors finally found out that her kidneys were shutting down, and it was causing her to start bleeding internally. The doctors tried everything they could to help, but they just couldn't stop the bleeding.

"Ok, thank you for informing me. I'll go get Adagio," Blue Sapphire said as he was trying to hold back his tears. He didn't know-how Adagio was going to react on hearing that her own mother was going to die soon

(5 minutes later)

"Daddy, where's Mommy, I want to see mommy," Adagio said as her father entered the room.

"We're going to see her right now, so just follow me into her room," Blue Sapphire assured her daughter.

"Ok, Daddy," Adagio said as they both headed towards Ruby Swirls' hospital room.

(Hospital room 247)
Adagio then rushed into her mother's hospital room to find her mother barely clinging to life.

"Mommy, you're going to be ok, aren't you mommy?" Adagio asked her mother.

"Oh, my sweet Adagio, you have always been an angel in my heart. I just wanted to see you one last time before..." Ruby Swirl's thoughts were then interrupted when she started coughing profusely.

Tears started to form in little Adagio's eyes as she went up to her mother and said, "Mommy, I don't want you to die, I want you to be fine. Then we can go back home and eat spaghetti and meatballs together and watch television together."

"Listen to me Adagio, I want you to be a good girl and I want you to take care of your father and to never forget that I will always be with you," Ruby Swirl said.

"Mommy...I love you," Adagio said as she hugged her mother.

Ruby Swirl, in her final breaths, faintly said, "And I love you too, my sweet Adagio," Before finally passing away.

"Mommy! Mommy, please wake up! Don't leave me, mommy! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!" Adagio screamed in sorrow. Making her father start tearing up. Adagio had lost her own mother, but it wouldn't be the only thing she would lose.

(Flashback #3: The Bus-stop, 2 years later):

(Adagio, age 10)

Her mother's death made her life a lot more difficult for Adagio, not only did she have to do all the chores around the house, but her father started becoming depressed and was now resulting in alcohol to soothe his pain. Because of this, Adagio never saw her father a lot and rarely even talked to him since he would always lock himself in his room and start crying for hours at a time. Adagio didn't get a lot of sleep because of this, and as a result, she would always come to school tired and sad every single day she went to school.

In the past, she would always tell the bus driver goodbye every time she got off the bus, but after her mother died, she got off the bus without even saying a word.

Adagio went up to the front door of her house, used her spare key to open the door, and disappeared into her dark and gloomy house.

"Dad, I'm home. How was your day at...," Before she could finish her sentence, she noticed that her father, who she regularly saw passed out on the couch, was nowhere to be seen.

"Hmm, where could dad be?" Adagio said as she looked for her father.

Adagio looks all over her house to see where her dad was, then when she was walking in a hallway, she heard a loud bang come from her dad's bedroom).

"Dad! DAD, ARE YOU OK?! PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR!" Adagio shouted to get her father's attention. She then starts banging on the door, trying everything to get the door open, then she realizes she has a spare key in her pocket. She then opens the door, but what she saw next would finally change Adagio in the worst way possible.

"Dad...DAD!...DAAAAAAAAAD!" Adagio screamed in terror as she saw her father's lifeless body on top of the bed, with the bed soaked in blood and a bullet wound in his head.

(Flashback #4, The Canterlot City Cemetery)

(Adagio: age 10)

Here Lies Ruby Swirl
Born 02/25/1971, Died 07/21/2007

Here Lies Blue Sapphire
Born 10/31/1975, Died 04/19/2009

As the funeral bells rang, Adagio looks over her mother and father's gravestones with eyes, that were once filled with joy and happiness, now her eyes were empty. Aria Blaze was also at the funeral home because her Great Grandmother had died from leukemia. Aria was holding a violet rose in her hands while trying to hold back her tears since violet roses were her Great Grandmother's favorite flowers.

"Great Granny, I-I-I m-miss you. Here, I-I even b-brought your favorite f-f-f-f-flower for you. I-I...I'm sorry, I just need a minute to myself." Said Aria before she finally broke down into tears. Aria loved her Great Grandmother very much, and when she found out that she had died, Aria was absolutely devastated. It took almost a second before she started crying uncontrollably, and it was about an hour before she finally calmed down.

Aria then saw Adagio and went over to comfort her since she was a friend of Adagio's father.

"I'm sorry that your father died, he was a great and kind man, and I knew him very well. I'm sorry for your loss. Are you going back to your home at any point?" Aria said.

"....No," Adagio said in a blank emotionless tone of voice. "There's no point to going back there, it'll only bring back bad memories," Adagio said as she left the Cemetary.

(The present-day):

(Adagio: Age 11)

Adagio woke up as she was in a shelter she made out of garbage bags and cardboard boxes. She always stared with those hazy, blank, emotionless eyes as she stared up into the moonlight. Her hair was a mess, her clothes were ripped and tattered, and she was starving. Bt she didn't care about hunger, she didn't really care about anything. She was just waiting for the Grim Reaper to come and take her, to end her miserable and meaningless existence, so she could be reunited with her family.

(BTW, If you don't see quotation marks, it's because this chapter is told through Joseph's perspective)

Hi, my name is Joseph Smith, and on the date of October 11th, 2010, I had a day that would change my life forever. But first, let's talk about my life first. I am a Jock from Canterlot High School, I guess no one knows this, but I'm pretty famous through the school grounds. Not only was I very successful at my classes, since I was born with an abnormal IQ of 202, but I was known by many students as the schools football hero, because not a single time did my team lose when I was one of the players.

The girls at school loved me, and the guys would kill to be me for a day, I guess all the other guys at school were jealous of my success.

No one knows this, but I was born with a case of Gigantism, which is an accelerated growth process during childhood from the production of excess growth hormones. When I was about 2 years old I was already 3 ft tall. And in Canterlot High, I was about 8 feet tall, making me the tallest person in school. But even though I may look like a bare knuckled Brawler, as the old saying goes, looks can deceive. I'm actually a gentle giant and one of the nicest people in the school. As I'm always looking to help people in need. For example, every Saturday, I always go to either alleyways or homeless shelters, and I give the homeless either food or spare change. My Mom, Dad, and little sister were always proud of my accomplishments and they always were saying that I was a giant gift, brought to this world by God himself.

Alright enough about me, let's talk about what happened on that one fateful day.

I was outside in the park near Canterlot High, having my lunch break. And when I looked around I always saw the same things. Lot's of cars stuck in traffic, Spoiled Rich screaming at her husband at the top of her lungs, and this Black cat that hangs around the park, always swiping and hissing at me. I always thought there was something mentally wrong with that cat, either that or it just hates people.

However, there was something...or someone that I've never seen before, there was this little girl that was sitting near the edge of the Canterlot Bank. This was the first time I've seen that little girl. And I could tell she was one of the many homeless people that show up everywhere. I saw that her hair was in a complete mess, her clothes were all worn and tattered, and she was bone thin, so I could tell she was starving.

So, I, being the friendly person that I am, decided that I was going to give her ten dollars and a box of Cheez Its. But before I could do anything, I saw a business man, wearing a grey suit and carrying a suitcase, marching straight for the girl.

The little girl turned her head up to face the man and said, "Could you spare some change?"

However, the business man responded by saying, "We don't want your filthy and disgusting kind around here anymore, so you better move aside before I smack you with this here suitcase!"

I couldn't believe what I was seeing, not only was this man yelling at a homeless beggar that wasn't even doing anything wrong, but threatening violence to an actual child, it just made my blood boil hearing the man's cruel remarks.

"Please sir, I haven't done anything wrong, I just wanted som..." The Girl's thoughts were interrupted when the Business man smacked her in the face and proceeded to pummel her with his suitcase.

I don't know if what I did next was just basic instinct, but the next thing I did was that I jumped off my bench and ran straight towards the man, as I grabbed his Suitcase before he could hit her again, and one I tightened my grip, the suitcase shattered to pieces.

"You strike at that girls arm again, and I'll break yours," I said, even though I really didn't mean it, I just wanted to scare him.

The attacker quickly surrendered, probably because he was frightened by my 8 ft tall body and didn't want himself to get hurt.

"Ok, I'll quit it, I don't want any trouble," The man said as he took off running.

After that, I walked up to the girl and said, "Sorry about that, are you ok?"

"I'm fine," The little girl said in an emotionless voice. "Could you spare some change?"

"Sure," I said, as I took ten dollars out of my wallet. " It may not be much, but it's better than nothing at all."

"Why did you do that," The girl said. "Why didn't you just let that man beat me to death?"

"Now why would I want that to happen," I replied.

"So I can be reunited with Mom and Dad," The Girl said without any emotion.

What the girl aid made my stomach turn, as I realized something. She was the same girl I saw at the cemetery a year ago, when I was there to mourn the death of my Cousin Andy, who had passed away from a brain tumor.

"Wait a minute...I remember you, oh you poor poor girl," I said as I bent over to comfort her as she stared off into space with dead eyes.

"I miss my mommy, I miss my daddy. Why did they have to die and I survive," The girl murmured.

"I don't really know the answer to that, I guess that sometimes life can have a lot of unfortunate turns," I said. "Say, what's your name?"

"Adagio...Adagio Dazzle," Adagio replied.

"Well Adagio Dazzle, I was thinking about if you could stay over at my place, there will be plenty of food and you'll have a roof over your head," I said with a compassionate look on my face. "I bet your parents wouldn't want to see you wasting away out here in the cold cruel streets."

Adagio looked at me and saw that my face looked similar to her father's. Upon seeing this, she couldn't hold in her emotions anymore and finally broke down into tears.

"Shh, it's ok, just let it all out, I'll be here for you every step of the way," I said as she continued crying in my arms.

"Oh, you sweet sweet man, looking after a poor innocent child," An elderly lady said as she gave Adagio an addition fifteen dollars. "You just might be the sweetest person I've ever seen.

"Oh, it was just the right thing for me to do, I couldn't allow her to just starve herself to death out here," I said as the Elderly lady gave me a smile

I think that after this moment, a friendship started to form between the two of us, and let me just say, this may have been the best moment of my life.
